TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED AND THE REAR PASSENGER WINDSHIELD FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DEFROSTER OVERHEATED AND CAUSED THE REAR WINDOW TO FRACTURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD WARPING. 2010 FORD F150 FX4 5.4L. RIGHT SIDE MANIFOLD WARPED AT 95,000 MILES AND LEFT SIDE MANIFOLD WARPED AT 135,000 MILES. RIGHT SIDE REPLACED FOR $1,500. HAVE NOT DONE THE LEFT SIDE YET. TOO EXPENSIVE. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THIS MODEL. SHOULD BE WARRANTY WORK.
IN 10/2016, MY STEERING FLUID BEGAN LEAKING AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY STEERING RACK WAS FAULTY. AS FORD DID NOT HAVE THIS PART AVAILABLE, I WAS FORCED TO ACCEPT AN INFERIOR AFTER-MARKET PART AND INCURRED A WHOOPING BILL OF $1,400 FOR THE FIRST REPAIR! AS OF TODAY, 1/18/2018, MY TRUCK IS BACK AT THE FORD GARAGE FOR REPLACEMENT OF MY 6TH AFTER-MARKET PART WHICH ALSO LEAKED AFTER INSTALLATION. I WAS INFORMED IN FEBRUARY 2017 THAT FORD WOULD HAVE AN ACTUAL FORD STEERING RACK, BUT ALMOST ALMOST A YEAR LATER, I'M BEING FORCED ONCE AGAIN TO ACCEPT AN INFERIOR AFTER-MARKET PART. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE THE INCONVENIENCE OF HAVING ONLY ONE VEHICLE, BUT WE WILL AGAIN HAVE AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR BILL WHICH WE SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING. MOST OF ALL, THE SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVED IN OUR SITUATION IS THE MOST CONCERNING AS THIS FLUID LEAKS ONTO THE HIGHWAY, AS WELL AS THE FACT THAT MY ABILITY TO STEER MY TRUCK COULD AT ANYTIME BE COMPROMISED RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT.
GOT INTO VEHICLE FOR 1 MILE TRIP TO TRAIN STATION, OUTSIDE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE 46 DEG. F AND OVERCAST. TURNED ON WINDSHIELD DEFROST - BOTH FRONT AND REAR. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF SITTING IN THE PARKED VEHICLE OFF OF THE STREET, AT 5:23AM, THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW POPPED VERY LOUDLY. WHEN INVESTIGATED, THE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE ENGINE REVVED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE AND LATER TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROCKER ARM FRACTURED INTO PIECES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
BRAKING SYSTEM FAILING, EVER SINCE I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT AFTER PURCHASE FROM DEALERSHIP JUNE 2015, I TOLD THEM SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH BRAKING SYSTEM, THEY SAY OH NO NEW BRAKES. I PUT BRAND NEW BRAKES CALIPERS ROTORS AND PRESSURE HOSES ON MY TRUCK. EVERY 1800 MILES OR LESS BRAKING SYSTEM IS FAILING, EVERY 1800 MILE OR LESS REPLACING PADS AND ROTORS. MY PADS ARE WEARING SO QUICKLY AND EATING THROUGH ROTORS. AS SOON AS I PUT NEW ONES ON THERES BRAKE DUST INSTANTLY AND ALWAYS. SOMETIMES TRUCK IS BRAKING ON ITS OWN WHEN NOT ACCELERATING WHEN I COASTING VEHICLE. I HAVE TRIED TAKING IT TO DEALER THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE HAD IT FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AND IT STILL CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS BRAKING SYSTEM.

ALSO, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE WHEELS WERE CRACKED. THE CONTACT CALLED PARSONS INTERSTATE FORD (196 WALNUT BOTTOM RD, SHIPPENSBURG, PA 17257, (717) 532-8888) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE WAS IDENTICAL TO A 2011 FORD F-150 RECALL PERTAINING TO UNEXPECTED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT. THE CONTACT INQUIRED IF THE RECALL COULD BE APPLIED TO THE 2010 FORD F-150. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
MY SON WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK WITH MY OLDER SON ALSO IN THE CAB. MY SON THAT WAS DRIVING NOTICED THAT THE TRUCK WAS LOSING SPEED AND THAT NOTHING WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR. HE PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND SMOKE BEGAN FILLING THE CAB. THEY GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK IN A HURRY AND RAN. THE TRUCK EXPLODED 3 SECONDS LATER AND BURNED COMPLETELY. WE ARE NOT CERTAIN WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE, BUT IT APPEARS TO BE THE FUELING SYSTEM
2010 FORD F150 WITH 83,000 MILES TRAVELING 70 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. HEARD A LOUD THUMP THEN TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP SKIDDING 100 FEET IN UNCONTROLLED FASHION. PLACED TRANSMISION SHIFTER TO NEUTRAL IMMEDIATELY WHEN RPMS WERE RACING. TRUCK TRIED TO GO LEFT BUT GAINED CONTROL WITH STEERING WHEEL. TOOK TRUCK BY TOW TRUCK TO TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THEY FOUND TRANSMISSION HAD SHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR CAUSING THE PROBLEM. TRANSMISSION WAS INTACT. CALLED FORD DEALER I BOUGHT FROM THEY SAID THEY WOULD RESEARCH SOUNDED LIKE THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT TO SAY THE LEAST AND I NOTED 3 OTHER SIMILAR EXPERIENCES UNDER CAR COMPLAINTS.COM FOR THIS YEAR YET NO RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR 2011 AND 2012 MODELS. NHTSA SHOULD TAKE NOTE AND MAKE MANDATORY RECALL.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the transmission shifted to a lower gear and the vehicle came to a complete stop. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
THE INTERIOR DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE WILL NOT GO BACK INTO POSITION AFTER OPENING THUS CAUSING THE DOOR TO FLING OPEN IF DRIVER DOES NOT PUSH THE HANDLE BACK INTO POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY YESTERDAY WHEN I NOTICED THE HANDLE DID NOT GO BACK. THEN YESTERDAY LEAVING THE PARKING LOT, MAKING A RIGHT TURN MY DOOR FLUNG OPEN BECAUSE I DIDN'T ENSURE THE HANDLE WAS STOWED. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ITEM UNDER FORD #11S15 BUT THE VIN DOES NOT PULL UP THIS RECALL. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED PICS BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS AT THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT NOW WHERE THEY TOLD ME IT DOES NOT FALL UNDER THIS RECALL WHEN CLEARLY IT IS THE EXACT SAME SAFETY ISSUE.
I WAS PULLING ONTO AN UNDIVIDED TWO LANE HWY. AND WAS ACCELERATING UP TO SPEED. THE VEHICLE, WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF WARNING, APPLIED THE BRAKES BY ITSELF CAUSING IT TO VEER HARD LEFT AND PULLING THE TRUCK INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR TRACTION CONTROL FLASHED ON AND OFF IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND YOU COULD HEAR THE ABS DEPLOYING. LUCKY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME OR COMING TOWARDS ME. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND QUITE FRIGHTENING FOR MY FAMILY. WE LIVE IN A RURAL COMMUNITY AND THE DEALERSHIP IS OVER 50 MILES AWAY IN ONE DIRECTION. CONCERNED ABOUT SAFELY BEING ABLE TO GET IT IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS.
F150 LARIAT 2010 DRIVING 35 MPH ON SMOOTH ROAD AND FROM BACK SEAT HEAR LIKE A GUN SHOT,,,REAR RIGHT WINDOW EXPLODES FOR NO REASON. 60 DEGREE TEMP OUTSIDE, SMOOTH PAVEMENT...THE WINDOW SHATTERING ON ITS OWN WAS A SURPRISE. SEEMS TO BE COMMON PROBLEM ON FORD F150.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WEHR FORD OF MOUNTAIN GROVE (11311 US-60 BUS, MOUNTAIN GROVE, MO 65711, (417) 926-3192) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SLIP YOKE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,400.

MY VEHICLE STOP WITHOUT WARNING. HAD A 800.00 DOLLAR TUNE-UP. IT HAS STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE TUNE-UP .I TOOK IT TO TWO DEALERS THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES INDICATING THEIR WAS A PROBLEM. IT CUTS OFF AS I COME TO A STOP OR WHEN I SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN AT SLOW SPEEDS ON CITY STREETS.
OUR 2010 FORD F-150 PLATINUM TRUCK CAUGHT FIRE WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HE HAD TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR TO SURVIVE. IT LOOKS LIKE THE GAS TANK CAUGHT ON FIRE AND THE ENTIRE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND COMPLETELY BURNED UP IN A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE BURNED OUT TRUCK AND A VIDEO OF THE LAST PART OF THE FIRE.

2010 F150 DIED TWICE WHILE DRIVING IN LOWER SPEED ON INTERSTATE AND IN PARKING LOT. SPEED WAS LESS THAN 15 MILES PER HOUR (INTERSTATE SPEED WAS REDUCED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION). IT ALSO DIED WHEN PARKED IN IDLE. THE ONLY "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" THAT APPEARED WAS THE OIL LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AT A FORD DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE HISTORY OF THE ISSUES USING THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS NOR WERE THEY ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE. WHEN VEHICLE DIED WHILE IN MOTION IT WAS IN DRIVE. WHEN IT DIED I LOST THE CAPABILITY TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL OR USE BRAKES. IN ALL SITUATIONS THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND FUNCTIONED AS NORMAL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILURE CAUSED THE AIR CONDITIONER TO FAIL. WHEN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER RESUMED OPERATION, THE AIR CONDITIONER BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE BALL JOINT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS BECAUSE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 169,000.

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE SPIDER GEAR WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SMART JUNCTION BOX WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE FRONT BRAKES WERE NOT RELEASING. AS I TRAVELED AROUND TOWN COMPLETING SOME ERRANDS I SMELT THE BRAKES BURNING. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I DISCOVERED MY CALIPERS WAS NOT RELEASING. I HAVE REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS, BRAKE LINES AND CALIPERS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LOCK WIRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DRIVERS MIRROR WAS FOGGY DUE TO EARLY MORNING MOISTURE. TURNED ON MY HEATED MIRRORS WHICH ARE ALSO CONNECTED TO THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW DEFROSTER. ABOUT 2 MINUTES LATER WHILE DRIVING I HEARD A LOUD SOUND, LIKE A GUNSHOT. THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK GLASS HAD SHATTERED DUE TO THE DEFROSTER IMBEDDED IN THE GLASS.
MY 2010 FORD F-150 AIR CONDITION SYSTEM BLOWS OUT COOL AIR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND HOT AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.WHEN THE AIR IS TURNED ON.
SINCE DECEMBER OF 2015 WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BRAKES ROTORS AND CALIPERS 5 TIMES. BRAKES ARE EATING INTO ROTORS IN LESS THEN 800 ,MILES. THIS IS BOTH SIDES FRONT. FORD: THE COMPLETE CALIPER ASSEMBLY, BRACKET (ANCHOR PLATE), BRAKE PADS, ROTORS AND CLIPS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO STICKING OR BINDING OF FRONT BRAKE CALIPER.
THE TRUCK HAS HAD THIS ISSUE SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THE TRUCK BUT CAN NEVER DUPLICATE THE ISSUE WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE 1ST TIME THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT FIRE. THE SECOND TIME, I WAS DRIVING AND THE TRUCK JUST STOPPED. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH SOME PASSING BY MOTORIST HELPED TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE INTERSECTION. 3RD TIME, THE TRUCK WAS PARKED AND DID NOT START. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING THE ISSUE, THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE BURNED OUT. NORMALLY FUSES JUST POP, THIS ONE JUST BURNED OUT TO WHERE I COULD NOT TAKE OUT THE FUSE. TOOK THE TRUCK TO WAS BOUGHT AT AND AFTER A FEW HOURS, THE PROBLEM WAS LOCATED. THE SHOP FOREMAN STATED THAT THEY HAVE HAD ALOT OF TRUCKS GO IN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. ONLY REASON I MAKING A COMPLAINT IS DUE TO THAT COMMENT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND TRUCK SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. WHAT IF MY SONS WERE WITH ME? HOPE THIS GETS RESOLVED AND A RECALLED IS MADE BEFORE SOMETHING WORSE HAPPENS TO SOMEONE ELSE. THANK YOU. *TR
HAD JUST COMPLETED AN OIL CHANGE IN NOVATO, CA AT THE OIL CHANGERS. WHEN DRIVING HOME ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65MPH THE ENGINE LOST ALL POWER. (STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR HAD NO RESPONSE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON) I COASTED THE VEHICLE ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. CHECKED THE OIL PLUG WAS STILL IN THE OIL DRAIN PAN AND EVERYTHING LOOKED OK. THE VEHICLE STARTED BACK UP WITHOUT ISSUE AND HAS BEEN RUNNING FINE SINCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE TOOK A LONG TIME TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
AS I WAS APPROACHING A SCHOOL ZONE I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO STOP FOR A CROSSING GUARD ,SLIGHTLY SLIPPERY, WITH MY FOOT APPLIED TO BRAKE THE REAR WHEEL STARTED SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL,THE TAC PEGGED , THE TRACSHION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHED REPEATEDLY, I EMEDITLY JAMMED THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK, AND SHUT OFF THE TRUCK.RESTARTED IT AND IT WAS THEN OK, HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE. WENT TO FORD DEALER THEY CHECKED THE COMPUTER AND FOUND NO ERROR CODES, THIS IS GOT THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE MAJOR INJURIES. MY WIFE NOW REFUSES TO DRIVE MY TRUCK. DO NO WHAT TO DO,NEED HELP IN THIS MATTER!

"IGNITION CYLINDER FELL OUT WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE IGNITION CYLINDER (INCLUDING MY KEYS) FELL OUT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE KEPT RUNNING, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE STILL FUNCTIONING AND STEERING WHEEL WAS ABLE TO BE TURNED. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FOUND THE IGNITION CYLINDER CONTAINING MY KEYS ON THE FLOOR MAT OF MY VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME - HOWEVER I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE WITH THE KEY AFTER I ARRIVED HOME. I PULLED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE TO KILL THE ENGINE. I CALLED DORIAN FORD AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE AND FOR $375 THIS COULD BE FIXED (PER ROXANNE, SERVICE ADVISOR @ DORIAN FORD). I FOUND THIS INCREDIBLE THAT A SERVICE ADVISOR WOULD INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE. THIS WAS QUITE SCARY FOR THE FIRST FEW MOMENTS WHEN I HEARD THE CYLINDER FALL OUT AND THEN HIT MY LEG ON ITS WAY TO THE FLOOR. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THIS IS THE SAME SCENARIO THAT OCCURRED ON GM VEHICLES WITH THE IGNITION CYLINDER.

TRAVELING AT 45 MPH ON A HIGHWAY I APPLIED BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN WHEN THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE SLOWING THE VEHICLE, HAD TO DOWNSHIFT AND APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. TOWED VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED DRAWING BRAKE FLUID INTO THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. NO VISIBLE SIGN OF A BRAKE FLUID LEAK. MASTER CYLINDER AND POWER BRAKE BOOSTER MUST BE REPLACED. VEHICLE HAS 80,000 MILES . SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM IN A RECALL ON 2014-15 F150 BUT NO SUCH RECALL FOR THE 2010 F150.
2010 FORD F150 WITH JUST OVER 60,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILS AND THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN ENTIRELY. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE TRUCK COMES TO A STOP, BUT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING CASUALLY AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON CITY STREETS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. PERSONAL INVESTIGATION HAS LED TO FINDING NUMEROUS REPORTS ONLINE OF THE SAME OR WORSE PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL/YEAR OF FORD TRUCK. RESEARCH HAS LEAD TO SHOW THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE A FACTORY ISSUE WITH THE FUEL/AIR SYSTEM ON THE VEHICLE. NUMEROUS OTHER REPORTS ONLINE OF THE TRUCK FAILING WHILE DRIVING AND EVEN CAUSING ACCIDENTS IN SOME INSTANCES. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS IT ENDANGERS THE LIVES OF THOSE IN THIS VEHICLE AS WELL AS OTHERS ON THE ROADWAY. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED IMMEDIATELY BY THE MANUFACTURER TO RECTIFY THIS WRONGDOING.

BOUGHT NEW IN APRIL 2010, FORD XLT150. NOW AT 73K MI. LAST TWO WEEKS. COULD NOT START TWICE AFTER FILLING UP. HAD TO KEEP FLOORING VEHICLE TO CRANK OVER.HI PERFORMANCE BATTERY IS TWO MTHS OLD. DIED AT RED LIGHT THREE TIMES. DIED AT YIELD SIGN TWICE.DIED AT BANK ATM ONCE. LOST STEERING CONTROL WHEN ENGINE DIED COMING OUT OF YIELD SIGN. LUCKILY HIT NO ONE.TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP,ASKED ABOUT RECALL NOTICE OR IF OTHERS HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. NEGATIVE RESPONSE ON BOTH. TOLD THEM THOUSANDS OF SAME PROBLEM POSTED ON INTERNET. THEY TOLD ME MANY PEOPLE JUST POST STUFF. MANY POSTERS SAID FORD DEALERS COMPUTERS SHOWED NO PROBLEM WHEN TRUCK IS HOOKED UP.TAKING IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SHOP. TOO DANGEROUS TO KEEP DRIVING. WILL INJURE SOMEONE AND MYSELF,OR WORSE. WILL BE NOTIFYING FORD.
WHILE SLOWING TO APPROXIMATLY 20 MPH TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AT A STOP LIGHT THE ENGINE DIED AND ALL BRAKING AND POWER STEERING WAS LOST. WHILE STILL PARTIALLY BLOKING THE INTERSECTION I PLACED THE TRANSSMISION IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. NO ENGINE FAULT CODES WERE DISPLAYED. I DROVE TO THE LOCAL DEALER IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE INCIDENT. DEALER STATED THAT IF NO FAULT LIGHT WAS PRESENT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. SO FAR THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONE TIME.
TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST ON THE VEHICLE THIS MORNING AS IT WAS SITTING STILL WARMING UP. TEMP=40F. CAME OUTSIDE WITH THE BACK GLASS SMOKING AND ON FIRE, MELTING THE PLASTIC TRIM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE BACK GLASS. MINUTES LATER THE GLASS BROKE, SPIDERING THE ENTIRE PANEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
WAS OPERATING THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SECTION OF THE POWER REAR WINDOW SLIDER SHATTERED. THE LOCAL FORD DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED IT IS A PROBLEM BUT FORD HAS NOT RECALLED. THE LOCAL WINDOW REPAIR COMPANY SAID THAT MOST TIMES IT IS THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT SHATTERS. THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND REPAIR IS NOT COVERE.
WHILE USING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTERS, THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW SHATTERED. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME, FORD COVERED IT AS A WARRANTY. THIS TIME THEY WILL NOT COVER IT SINCE IT IS OVER 100,000 MILES. BOTH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVES ACKNOWLEDGE THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. BOTH TIMES THE WINDOW SHATTERED OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED IN JUNE AND THE SECOND TIME WAS IN FEBRUARY. TEMPERATURES WERE EXTREMELY DIFFERENT. JUNE WAS IN THE MID 70'S AND FEBRUARY WAS 0 - 5F. THE SHATTERED GLASS WENT ALL OVER THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT. CLEAN UP WAS A HAZARD AS THE GLASS IS VERY SHARP.
THE INSIDE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. PASSENGERS ARE FORCED TO PUSH THE HANDLE BACK INTO THE CLOSED POSITION WHEN RIDING. THIS PROBLEM IS IN FACT LISTED AS A RECALL ITEM FOR THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR OF MY VEHICLE. I CONTACTED FORD AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER/ FACTORY WAS NOT INCLUDED. ACCORDING TO THE RECALL(NHTSA CAMPAIGN #:11V049000), THIS DEFECT COULD CAUSE THE DOOR TO FLY OPEN IN AN ACCIDENT. ALTHOUGH FORD DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM EXIST WITH MY VEHICLE IN PARTICULAR OR PERHAPS THE PLANT WHERE IT WAS MANUFACTURED; THIS DOES NOT CHANGE THE REALITY THAT IT HAPPENED. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE AT MY OWN COST. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN A PASSENGER OPENED THE DOOR; ONLY TO FIND THAT THE HANDLE WOULD NOT GO BACK TO CLOSED POSITION.
