I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY REAR WINDOWS WERE FOGGED UP SO I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST AND MY PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED.
AT HIGHWAY CRUISING SPEED, WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON, THE TRUCK SPONTANEOUSLY LOCKED UP THE WHEELS AND WENT INTO AN UNCONTROLLABLE SKID OFF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY INTO THE DITCH AND UP THE EMBANKMENT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHICH FIXED IT FOUND A COMPUTER ERROR CODE P0975, AND THEREFORE REPLACED FORD PART NUMBER 9L3Z7A100C:CONTROL ASSEMBLY-TRANSMISSION. NO BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEMS, AND NO REAR END DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. THE TRUCK WAS DRIVABLE AFTER THE ACCIDENT. IF THE TRUCK HAD ROLLED OR STRUCK AN OBSTACLE, FATALITIES COULD HAVE RESULTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH WITH THE DEFROSTER ACTIVATED, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,650.
WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD F150, TURNED ON REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. JUST TOOK OFF FROM STOP SIGN AND IT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN GOING OFF. STOPPED AND MY REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. WAS GOING LESS THEN 10 MPH. IS THERE ANY RECALL ON THIS? NOW I HAVE TO FILE A INCIDENT REPORT WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE THE WINDOW TO SHATTER. IF THERE IS NO RECALL WHY NOT !!!!!
ABOUT 6:30 PM WAS DRIVING HOME ON I695 ABOUT 65 MPH AND MY BRAKES FAILED I HIT THE BRAKES AND I HAD NO BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR I COULD NOT STOP MY TRUCK. MY FRONT LEFT WHEEL WAS SMOKING SO I ALMOST HIT 2 CARS TRYING TO GET OVER I HAD TO RUN OFF THE ROAD TO GET MY TRUCK TO STOP. I WANT TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THERE BRAKES
AFTER THE TRUCK SITS FOR EIGHT TO 10 HOURS, WHEN I START IT UP I HAVE A VERY HARD BRAKE PEDAL AND NO BRAKES. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I BACK OUT OF THE GARAGE ON A SLIGHT DECLINE. IF I STAND ON THE BRAKE WITH BOTH FEET IT EVENTUALLY BEGINS TO WORK. THERE WERE NO DASHBOARD WARNINGS BEFORE I PULLED OUT OF THE GARAGE. THIS FAILURE WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. IMAGINE THE FEELING OF NO BRAKES! OMG! I WAS HEADED FOR THE NEIGHBOR'S YARD AND BIG TREE! I PLAN TO PURSUE REPAIR OF THIS WITH MY LOCAL SERVICE PEOPLE. MY RESEARCH NARROWED TO AN "ELECTRIC VACUUM ASSIST PUMP" ISSUE BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE NHTSB WHICH SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WHAT'S HAPPENED TO ME.
AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE IN TO THE SHOP FOR A ROUTINE SAFETY INSPECTION, I'VE RECEIVED A CALL THAT MY F-150 FAILED BECAUSE OF AN AIR BAG MALFUNCTION. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT MANY VEHICLES WITH AIR BAG MALFUNCTIONS HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I FEEL THAT THIS IS NOT A CASE OF NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FROM THE OWNER BUT A COMPANY MALFUNCTION. I AM SUPPOSE TO PAY $1300 FOR A REPAIR THAT I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER AND ONE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED IN SO MANY VEHICLES? I FIND THIS TO BE UNACCEPTABLE!
WIRING HARNESS ON 2010 FORD F-150 4X4 BURNS UP AT FUSE BOX. ORIGINAL HARNESS WAS REPLACED BY DEALER IN 2013. SECOND HARNESS BURNT UP AT FUSE BOX AFTER 16 MONTHS. WAITING FOR NEW HARNESS AT PRESENT TIME. IT IS THE FUEL PUMP CONNECTION THAT IS BURNING UP IN THE BOX BY THE FUSE. WHEN THE HARNESS BURNS THROUGH, THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY STOPS, EVEN WHILE IN MOTION. THIS CONSTITUTES A SAFETY HAZARD AS NO NOTICE OCCURS BEFORE BURN UP. NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEAR ON DASH TO WARN OF THIS. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, OTHER THAN REPLACING THE WIRE HARNESS THAT IS BURNING UP. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE REASON FOR THE BURN UP. ALL THAT HAS BEEN DONE IS REPLACEMENT OF THE PART THAT IS DAMAGED.. HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A MONTH FOR PARTS. OTHER VEHICLES AT THE DEALERSHIP ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE.
I LIVE IN A METROPOLITAN AREA WHERE THERE IS ALWAYS A HIGH VOLUME OF TRAFFIC AND LOSING POWER OF A VEHICLE IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. DRIVING IN 5:00 RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND ACCELERATING FROM A RED LIGHT WHEN MY FORD TRUCK ENTERED INTO A "LIMP HOME" MODE (WRENCH ICON AND OIL LAMP APPEARED) IT STALLED OUT. I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT EVEN THOUGH I HAD NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. EVENTUALLY, I WAS ABLE TO START MY VEHICLE. MY TRUCK DROVE FINE BUT NOW AND THEN HAD A HESITATION TO START. ABOUT A WEEK LATER, IT STALLED AGAIN; THIS TIME IT DID NOT START. I WAS A BLOCK FROM MY OFFICE AND WE PUSHED IT BACK. I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I WORK IN OUTSIDE SALES AND HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED $700. THE TRUCK DROVE OK FOR ABOUT A MONTH, BUT STILL HESITATED ON STARTING. IN JUNE, ONCE AGAIN IT STALLED. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP AND THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. JULY 9TH, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 55 MPH WHEN I CAME TO A SIGNAL LIGHT AND STOPPED. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I BEGIN MY LEFT HAND TURN AND THE TRUCK STALLED. I HAD IT TOWED TO FORD DEALER. THEY ARE SAYING THAT NOW IT IS THE FUEL PUMP BATTERY JUNCTION BOX, ANOTHER $2500 AND IT WILL TAKE AFTER LABOR DAY BEFORE I GET MY TRUCK BACK BECAUSE THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE!!! RENT A CAR FOR 2 MONTHS ON TOP OF THAT!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT SLIPPED ON THE WET RUNNING BOARD AND STRUCK HER FACE AND SHIN ON THE STEP. THE CONTACT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED RANDOMLY. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,316.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A WATER LEAK IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
OUR 2010 FORD F150 IS LITERALLY ROTTING AWAY IN THE DRIVE WAY BOTH SIDES OF THE BED HAVE RUST THROUGH AT 45,000 MILES IT STARTED, THE TRUCK NOW HAS APPRX 58,000 MILES. WE PURCHASED A FORD BECAUSE THEY WERE ONLY THE ONE OF THE BIG 3 US AUTO MAKERS THAT DIDN'T TAKE THE BAIL OUT FROM THE TAXPAYERS & WE PREVIOUSLY OWNED ONE. WE HAVE A 2008 HYUNDIA WITH 102,000 MILES NO RUST OR HOLES, 2011 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH 60,000 MILES AND A 2012 GMC SIERRA 80,000 AND NO RUST OR HOLES. FORD HAS REFUSED TO REPAIR THE TRUCK. THIS IS A DISGRACE A TRUCK WITH EXTREMELY LOW MILES LITERALLY ROTTING AWAY IN THE DRIVEWAY. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER FORD IN OUR DRIVE UNLESS FORD STEPS UP AND FIXES THIS. OUR SONS THAT OWN THE CHEVY & GMC ARE YOUNG AND ALOT OF VEHICLES TO PURCHASE IN THEIR LIVES, THEY ARE DISGUSTED WITH THE FORD ALSO. FORD REPRESENTATIVE NEEDS TO SEE THIS TRUCK!
DRIVING TO WORK HAD REAR DEFROSTER ON AND OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS HIGH 30S OR LOW 40S. SAW SMOKE START TO BILLOW OUT IN MIDDLE OF REAR SLIDER. PULLED OVER AND CHECKED, SMOKE WENT AWAY WHEN I OPENED THE POWER SLIDER ABOUT 6". WHEN I CLOSED THE WINDOW WITH THE POWER SLIDER THE RIGHT REAR BACKGLASS SHATTERED. THIS IS APPARENTLY A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL TRUCK.

WHILE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, HEARD LOAD POP SOUNDING LIKE A GUN SHOT. FOUND REAR WINDOW SHATTERED IN MANY PIECES. AFTER DOING RESEARCH FOUND THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL ISSUE. *TR
2010 FORD F150 XLT; BOUGHT FROM A USED CAR DEALER 2/7/2015. ON 3/27/2015 I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE & WAS TOLD THAT THE RACK & PINION WAS DAMAGED; WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP & THEY HAD THE RACK & PINION REPLACED. TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON 9/26/2016 & ONCE AGAIN I'M LEAKING POWER STEERING FLUID. I CONTACTED THE REPAIR SHOP & THEY HAVE NO PAPER RECORD OF THE REPAIR & NEITHER DOES THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED EVERY PARTS STORE IN THE AREA & NONE OF THEM HAVE A RECORD OF SELLING THE REPAIR SHOP THAT PARTICULAR PART FOR MY MAKE & MODEL TRUCK. THERE IS ONE PARTS STORE THAT WILL BE WILLING TO DO AN EXCHANGE FOR THE OLD PART BUT ONLY WITH THE REPAIR SHOP THAT ORIGINALLY DID THE WORK. I DON'T WANT THAT GUY WORKING ON MY TRUCK ANYMORE BECAUSE WHEN HE PUT THE PART ON THE FIRST TIME, HE PUT IT ON WITH ZIP TIES! THIS PART COSTS AROUND $375 PLUS LABOR & I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY. NOT WITH RAISING 2 KIDS BY MYSELF BECAUSE THEIR DEADBEAT DAD WON'T GET A JOB TO HELP WITH EXPENSES. I HAVE TO KEEP POWER STEERING FLUID ON HAND AT ALL TIMES BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN I'M GONNA HAVE TO ADD SOME TO THE TRUCK. I'VE NOTICED THAT SAME "WHINE" IN A LOT OF FORD TRUCKS DRIVING BY MY HOUSE & SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. I HAVE NO WARRANTY ON MY TRUCK ANYMORE & I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY ONE OF THOSE EXTENDED WARRANTY THINGS YOU SEE ONLINE OR ON TV COMMERCIALS.
THE TRUCK WAS PARKED FACING DOWN ON A MODERATE HILL. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS STARTED AND THE SHIFT LEVER MOVED FROM PARK TO DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION REMAINED LOCKED UP (STILL IN PARK) AND THE VISUAL GEAR SELECTOR INDICATOR DID NOT ILLUMINATE SHOWING ANY GEAR SELECTED. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND THE SHIFT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED IN THE GEAR SELECTED. APPLYING GAS DURING THE "PAUSE SHIFT" PERIOD RESULTED IN A RAPID AND UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION WHEN THE SHIFT OCCURRED AND THIS RESULTED IN A SIGNIFICANT ACCIDENT. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, THE TRUCK WAS EXAMINED BY A FORD DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN AND THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULATOR (TCM) WAS REPROGRAMMED.
VEHICLE VIBRATES AND HESITATES TO ACCELERATE TO THE POINT WHERE THE TRUCK ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF AROUND 1500 RPM ON BOTH HIGHWAY SPEED AND NORMAL STREET SPEED. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT OR MAYBE THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHERE IT'S COMING FROM SINCE THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED AND THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DEFROST CONNECTOR PLUG NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ONE OTHER TIME. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,681.
ONE SECTION OF MY 3 PIECE REAR WINDOW COMPLETELY SHATTERED AFTER THE REAR DEFROST HAD BEEN ON FOR A FEW MINUTES, IN 60 DEGREE WEATHER. *TR
WHILE SLOWING FOR A STOP ENGINE SHUT DOWN. NO ENGINE LIGHTS OR WARNINGS WERE DISPLAYED. STEERING LOCKED UP. TRUCK RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEM. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
TURNED ON REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES THERE WAS A LOUD BANG, THE REAR WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SHATTERED. *TR
CRANKED TRUCK UP TO WARM UP 45 DEGREES OUTSIDE. GOT IN TRUCK AFTER TEN MINUTES OF WARM UP TIME. WENT TO SHIFT TO REVERSE AND HEARD A LOUD POP NOTICED THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE REAR GLASS HAD SPIDERWEBED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A REAL PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS. *TR
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY I INITIALLY HAD NO BRAKES UNTIL I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL EXCESSIVELY HARD. ONCE THE BRAKES STARTED TO WORK THEY WERE FINE. SEEMS TO HAPPEN SHORTLY AFTER STARTING THE TRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE.
THE REAR WINDOW DRIVER SIDE SPIDER WEBBED. IT WAS 55 DEGREES OUT AND I OPENED MY WINDOWS. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. THE OTHER TIME WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW IN 11/2013. I BELIEVE FORD NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.IT HAS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEFROSTER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE PREMATURELY FRACTURED INSIDE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY A MECHANIC. IN ADDITION, THE DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V049000 (STRUCTURE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THE TRUCK WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY WARMING UP WITH THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST ON WHEN A LOT OF SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE AREA AROUND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE HEAD REST. I TURNED OFF THE TRUCK AND THEN THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW PANEL HAD SHATTERED. *TR
FORD F150 4.6LT STX LOST ALL POWER AT 45MPH. LIMPED THE TRUCK HOME WITH THE FEAR OF GETTING RUN OVER. TRUCK IS LESS THEN 5YRS OLD WITH 63K MILES ON IT. IF MY WIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING I'M SURE SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND AS I HAD TO TAKE ACTION TO KEEP FROM BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALERSHIP SAID THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. I HAD THE VEHICLE TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR A STALLING ISSUE. TO ME IT FELT AS IF THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS STAYING LOCKED UP STALLING THE ENGINE. BOTH DEALERS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE NEW IN 2010. NOW THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED 3K MILES OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY FORD WILL NOT DO A THING TO HELP BUT OFFER A LITTLE MONEY TOWARDS A 4600$ REPAIR. THIS IN MY OPINION IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF I WAS NOT A TECHNICIAN FOR OVER 15YRS AND A TECHLINE ADVISER FOR ANOTHER CAR COMPANY FOR OVER 7 I MIGHT NOT HAVE KNOWN WHAT WAS GOING ON. FORD WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND RECTIFY THIS ISSUE AND IS PASSING ON THIS FAILURE TO ME. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS MY WIFE SINCE IT STALLED ON HER WILL NO LONGER DRIVE THE TRUCK EVEN IF I GET IT REPAIRED. LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOYALTY BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY! *TR
TURNED REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ON, 5 MINUTES LATER HEARD A LOUD POP LOOKED IN REAR VIEW MIRROR AND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. WHEN I FIRST TURNED THE DEFROSTER ON I NOTICED THAT IT DIDN'T APPEAR TO BE WORKING. NO VISIBLE LINES ACROSS THE CENTER WINDOW. I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT APPEARED TO BE WORKING AS I COULD SEE FAINT LINES ACROSS THE GLASS WHERE THE CONDENSATION WAS DISAPPEARING. *TR
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. IT WAS 22 DEGREES (F) OUT..I TURNED MY REAR DEFROSTER ON, MY 2010 F-150 PLATINUM ON. DRIVING ABOUT 57 MPH AND I HEARD A LOUD BANG LIKE I WAS GETTING SHOT AT.. I LOOKED BACK TO REALIZE THAT MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED..(THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE THREE PIECE POWER REAR WINDOW). *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,250. UPDATED 03/30/15*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED SAFELIGHT GLASS REPAIRED AT LEAST 100 OTHER FORD TRUCKS WITH THE SAME FAILURE. I SUDDENLY HEARD A VERY LOUD POP, THEN UPON CHECKING MY REAR VIEW MIRROR I NOTICES THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE OF THE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTER. ALL OF THE GLASS WAS STILL IN PLACE, BUT THE GLASS LOOKED A VERY TIGHT SPIDERS WEB. I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT BROKEN GLASS IS NOT COVERED. AFTER THE INCIDENCE I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MANY MODEL YEARS OF THE F-150 TO INCLUDE MY 2010 F-150 LARIAT. IT ENDED UP COSTING ME $661.99 OUT OF MY POCKET TO FIX A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THE REAR GLASS.

I RECENTLY WAS INVOLVED IN A MULTIVEHICLE ACCIDENT IN WHICH MY 2010 FORD F 150 TRUCK WAS TOTALED. I WAS THE PERSON WHO CAUSED IT. HOWEVER, I DON'T BELIEVE I WAS AT FAULT. AFTER NOTICING THE INSIDE OF MY TRUCK WINDOWS STEAMING UP, I FELT AROUND AND FOUND THE BACK SEATS AND FLOOR WERE SOAKED. IT HAD BEEN RAINING HARD FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND IT TURNED OUT THE 3RD BRAKE/CARGO LIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR THE CARGO BED WAS FULL OF WATER AND HAD ALLOWED WATER TO INSIDE OF THE CABIN.THE CEILING LINER, SEATS AND CARPET WERE SOAKED. I HAVE DUCK-TAPED IT FOR NOW, BUT WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY. THE LIGHT BULBS HAD NEVER BEEN CHANGED. FORD IS SAYING IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT BUT WITH THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ON THE NET, IT CERTAINLY ISN'T THE CUSTOMER'S FAULT. STEP UP FORD AND DO WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING; MAKE A RECALL ON THIS PART AND FIX IT. WE SPEND ALOT OF MONEY FOR YOUR PRODUCT; STAND BEHIND IT. DRIVER HEATED SEAT FUNCTION WAS ON WHILE DRIVING, SUDDENLY THERE WAS A VERY HOT SPOT FELT UNDER DRIVER'S LEFT LEG, THEN HEATED SEAT FUNCTION THEN WENT OFF. FURTHER ATTEMPTS TO OPERATE THE HEATED SEAT FUNCTION RESULTED IN A TEMPORARY ILLUMINATION OF THE DRIVER HEATED SEAT INDICATOR, FOLLOWED BY AN EXTINGUISHING OF SAME INDICATOR AFTER ABOUT 1 SECOND. THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS NO LONGER ELIGIBLE FOR COVERAGE UNDER THE 3/36,000 BUMPER TO BUMPER PORTION OF THE FORD 2010 NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE OWNER ELECTED TO PERFORM HIS OWN INVESTIGATION INTO THE PROBLEM. THE OWNER DISMANTLED THE DRIVER SEAT AND FOUND BURNT COMPONENTS IN THE VICINITY OF A FAILED WIRE THAT WAS PART OF THE SEAT HEATER SUBSYSTEM, ALL OF THIS UNDER THE SEAT COVER IN AN AREA THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN UNDERNEATH THE LEFT LEG OF THE DRIVER. THE FAILURE WAS IDENTIFIED AS A BURNT/CHARRED WIRE THAT OPENED THE CIRCUIT OF THE HEATED SEAT FUNCTION.
