WHILE IN MOTION MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED, THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. THIS HAPPENED A COUPLE DIFFERENT TIMES OVER THE WEEKEND AND THIS MORNING THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED INTO THIRD GEAR AND WOULDN'T SWITCH UP OR DOWN. WHEN RESEARCHING THE ISSUE IT APPEARS TO BE SIMILAR IT THE SAME AS 19N01 LEAD FRAME ISSUE BUT MY TRUCK ISN'T PART OF THAT RECALL ACCORDING TO FORD.
HAD FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 15N05 DONE ON MY TRUCK JANUARY 2017 AFTER VACUUM PUMP NOISES IN THE FRONT END. VEHICLE WAS AT 90.5K MILES THEN AND IS NOW AT 120.5K MILES. NOTICED A FEW WEEKS AGO THE VACUUM PUMP WAS AGAIN MAKING THE SAME VIBRATION NOISES AT STARTUP...PROBABLY EVEN WORSE (NOISIER, SEVERAL CYCLES OF VIBRATION INSTEAD OF JUST ONE). SINCE I WAS PAST THEIR 1-YEAR/12K MILE WARRANTY PROGRAM ON THE UNIT, FORD DEALER AND CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE BOTH DECLINED TO SUPPORT ANOTHER REPLACEMENT IN ANY WAY. WAS READING ON F150 FORUMS AND OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAULTY VACUUM PUMPS AFTER HAVING THE WARRANTY WORK DONE. SO, NOW I HAVE A NOISY VACUUM PUMP AND VERY SLIGHT PEDAL CHANGES AT FIRST START-UP THAT I MUST PAY TO FIX. NO INCIDENTS SO FAR BUT NOW I'M ON THE HOOK FOR AN ADDITIONAL REPAIR AFTER ONLY 18MONTHS/30K MILES WITH THE FORD RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT PUMP. NOTHING ON VEHICLES THESE DAYS ONLY HAS A 30K MILE LIFE. THAT'S TERRIBLE. FOR SAFETY'S SAKE, I'M GOING TO HANDLE THIS REPLACEMENT ON MY OWN AND HAVE NO RECOURSE AT THIS MOMENT FOR SATISFACTION BESIDES TO ATLEAST REPORT THAT FORD REPLACED AN EASILY FAILING VACUUM PUMP WITH ANOTHER EASILY FAILING VACUUM PUMP AND THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THAT WORK. IF THIS SAFETY ISSUE WAS SEVERE ENOUGH TO CREATE A SATISFACTION PROGRAM/EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM THE FIRST TIME AROUND, WHY IS SAFETY NO LONGER IMPORTANT THE SECOND TIME AROUND WHEN IT IS FAILING AGAIN? ANSWER - BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE NHTSA INVESTIGATING THEM THIS TIME AROUND....MAYBE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS LIKE MINE AND IT WILL RE-OPEN THE CASE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN), AN ABNORMAL BANGING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE EVERY TIME IT DOWNSHIFTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FETTE FORD (1137 US-46, CLIFTON, NJ 07013, (877) 605-8292) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000. *AS *TR
VERY HARSH TRANSMISSION SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR

LOWER STEERING SHAFT UNIVERSAL JOINTS FREEZING CAUSING EXTREMELY HARD STEERING
I OWN A 2011 FORD F150 THAT WAS UNDER A TRANSMISSION RECALL THAT WAS VERY SERIOUS IN NATURE: 16V248000 -FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011-2012 FORD F-150 TRUCKS, 2012 FORD EXPEDITION, LINCOLN NAVIGATOR, AND FORD MUSTANG VEHICLES. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT MAY UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR, REGARDLESS OF VEHICLE SPEED. I HAD THIS RECALL PERFORMED AND EVER SINCE, I'VE HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT RESPOND AS IT SHOULD. THE TRUCK TAKES OFF VERY SLOWLY AS IT ACCELERATES (VERY DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC). ON TOP OF THAT IT HAS SHIFTING PROBLEMS. THE DEALERSHIP (EBY FORD IN GOSHEN, IN) HAS BEEN NO HELP WHATSOEVER. NOW, ON TOP OF NOT GETTING THIS TAKEN CARE OF, I NOW HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE (THAT'S ALSO BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM): 'FIELD SERVICE ACTION NUMBER: 15N05. MY VEHICLE HAS 152,XXX MILES ON IT AND THEY'RE SAYING THEY CAN'T COVER THIS BECAUSE IT'S OVER 150,000. I NEED HELP GETTING THIS VEHICLE IN A A SAFE DRIVING CONDITION SO THAT I SOMEONE DOESN'T END UP SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. PLEASE HELP! THESE THINGS OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED. THERE IS ONLY ONE OPTION BELOW FOR "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?". I SELECTED TODAY, HOWEVER, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING THING SINCE THE ORIGINAL RECALL WAS PERFORMED (MENTIONED ABOVE).
PUT TRUCK IN DRIVE START TRAVELING DOWN THE STREET AND THEN THE TRUCK DOWN SHIFT AND JERK REALLY HARD OR TRAVELING AT ABOUT 45 MPH AND IT HAS A HARD SHIRT!
THIS VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO A SAFETY RECALL (19S07/19V-075) FOR INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (OSS) CAUSING UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR. I HAD THE DEALER REPROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE AS PER THE RECALL. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE SEEN THAT A NEW RECALL WAS ISSUED (19S19) FOR SIMILAR FORD TRUCKS BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL RECALL DID NOT COMPLETELY RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS NEW RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY TRUCK. MY TRUCK STILL SOMETIMES UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR EVEN AFTER THE INITIAL RECALL REPAIR WORK WAS COMPLETED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL CAUSE ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE WHETHER THE INITIAL RECALL (19S07/19V-075) COMPLETELY RESOLVED THE PROBLEM (IT DID NOT IN MY CASE) OR WHETHER ADDITIONAL RECALL WORK IS NEEDED AS WITH 19S19.
I AM AN OWNER OF A FORD F-150 PLATINUM. THE VIN IS (XXXXX). I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF A RECALL WITH FIX FOR MY PICKUP LAST YEAR. I TOOK MY PICKUP WITH THE NOTICE THAT I HAD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, BAUGH FORD IN CLANTON, ALABAMA. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP ON OR AROUND SEPTEMBER 5, 2018 TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. PRIOR TO THIS REPAIR, I HAD NOT NOTICED OR EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, FOLLOWING THE REPAIR, I NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING OR FOR LACK OF A BETTER TERM FORGETTING WHAT GEAR IT WAS IN. THIS SEEMED TO HAPPEN WHILE TRAVELING SLOWLY AS IN A PARKING LOT, THEN LETTING OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR. AS SOON AS THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED THERE WAS A BRIEF PAUSE FOLLOWED BY A LOUD METAL TO METAL POP AND JOLT AS IF SOMEONE HAD HIT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURRED INFREQUENTLY AND I COULD NOT MAKE THIS HAPPEN, NOT REPRODUCEABLE. THIS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY SIX TIMES SINCE SEPTEMBER LAST. ON JUNE 15, 2019, WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE I-65 NORTH JUST NORTH OF MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA AT HIGHWAY SPEED, I NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO MOMENTARILY SLIP OR GO INTO NEUTRAL. THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS STILL IN DRIVE POSITION AND REMAINED IN THAT POSITION THROUGH OUT THIS INCIDENT. THEN IT SEEMED AS IF THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING GEARS. AT SOME POINT THE REAR TIRES LOCKED AND THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND I AND THE TRUCK ABRUPTLY LEFT THE INTERSTATE. I WENT DOWN A STEEP EMBANKMENT. I FINALLY MANAGED TO STOP MY VEHICLE, WITHOUT HITTING ANY OTHER VEHICLE OR HIGHWAY SIGNAGE, NEAR A SECONDARY ROAD. I THEN MOVED THE GEAR SELECTOR FROM DRIVE INTO THE PARK POSITION AND THEN BACK TO THE DRIVE POSITION AND DROVE A SHORT DISTANCE TO A SAFER LOCATION. I EXITED MY VEHICLE AND WALKED AROUND AND LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO ERROR/MALFUNCTION CODES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR ON ITS OWN. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED UNCONTROLLABLY UP AND DOWN AND THE RPMS INCREASED. THE CONTACT CALLED PETTIJOHN AUTO CENTER (1301 S 25TH ST, BETHANY, MO, (660) 425-2244) AND MIDWAY FORD TRUCK CENTER (7601 NE 38TH ST, KANSAS CITY, MO 64161, (816) 455-3000) AND WAS INFORMED THAT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
IT IS DOWN SHIFTING UNSAFELY AND UNCONTROLLED, ODOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER ARE NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. IT DOWNSHIFTED SUDDENLY TO GEAR 1 AS I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35MPH ON A CITY STREET. NEARLY LOST CONTROL BEFORE I COULD GET PULLED OVER AND STOPPED. IT WAS LIKE THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED AND I SKIDDED WITHOUT USING THE BRAKES. LATER IT STARTED TO DOWNSHIFT FROM 6TH TO 5TH GEAR AT 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE. ODOMETER WENT BLANK, SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO MPH AND A WRENCH SYMBOL APPEARED BY ODOMETER. HAD A CODE MACHINE READING THAT SHOWED A FAULT CODE FOR OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR. CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE BY VIN #. FOUND ONLINE WHERE FORD HAS A RECALL # F-150-19S07, THEY SAY THAT DOESN'T COVER MY TRUCK DISSPITE THEIR WEBSITE INDICATING IT COVERS MY MODEL, MAKE, MONTH AND YEAR OF MANUFACTURE AND PLANT WHERE IT WAS BUILT AT. I CAN NOT DRIVE THIS TRUCK SAFELY IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION AND IT APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS AND TRANSMISSIONS.
THE TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED AND THE END RESULT IS A BAD ENGINE. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK IN 2015 AND ONLY PUT 40,000 MILES ON IT. THE TRUCK HAS A TOTAL OF 110,000 MILES . THIS MODEL (ECOBOOST)HAS HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE TIMING CHAIN AND FORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT'S NOT A " SAFETY HAZARD ". I DID THE OIL CHANGES ALWAYS AT THE RECOMMENDED TIME AND TOOK GOOD CARE OF THE TRUCK. I REACHED OUT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY WILL NOT HELP. IN FACT , I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER THEY WERE SURPRISED THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN SOONER. THIS IS A NOTORIOUS ISSUE AND FORDS DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.
AS I WAS LEAVING THE PARKING LOT AND PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THE STEERING ON MY TRUCK LOCKED UP AND BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO MOVE. ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY THE TRUCK PUT A CODE UP THAT SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING. AFTER ALMOST HAVING A HEAD ON COLLISION I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SHAKING IN TERROR AS I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT COULD'VE POSSIBLY WENT WRONG. WITH A LITTLE RESEARCH I DID AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THE POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION MODULE WENT OUT WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS AN IMMEDIATE DANGER TO ANY PERSON THAT USES PUBLIC ROADWAYS FOR THEMSELVES IN OTHER PEOPLE THEY NEED TO GET THIS OFF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY AND RECALL THIS PART.
MY TRUCK HAS DOWNSHIFTED OUT OF NO WHERE TWICE THIS WEEK. I TOOK TO DEALER THEY SAID IT ISN'T PART OF THE FORD RECALL BUT IT'S DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL IS FOR. INSTEAD I GOT CHARGED $200 FOR A TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE AND ON THE WAY HOME IT DOWNSHIFTED AGAIN BY ITSELF. FORDS RECALL NUMBER IS 19S07 FOR THIS PROBLEM. LUCKILY FOR ME AND MY FAMILY NO ONE WAS BY US WHEN THIS HAPPENED FOR I WAS ON A STATE ROUTE GOING 45MPH WHEN MY TRUCK SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 10MPH OUT OF NO WHERE.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK ON THE CITY ROAD I MADE A U- TURN AND THE STEERING SKIPPED. I DROVE IT THE NEXT DAY ON THE CITY ROAD AND THE STEERING GOT WORSE AND THE TURN BLINKERS FAILED TO COME ON. THEN 2 DAYS LATER, WHILE PARKED, I ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY AND THE STEERING IS COMPLETELY GONE AND SQUEALS INSISTENTLY. THE TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH A EPAS (ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING) SYSTEM WHICH HAS FAILED. IN DOING RESEARCH ON LINE, THERE IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THE EPAS SYSTEM AND I AM SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY COMPLAINT. IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, THEN IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. MY TRUCK IS NOW SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY UNDRIVABLE.
JUST AFTER ENTERING A HIGHWAY, I NOTICED I HAD NO POWER STEERING AT ALL (WITH DASH DISPLAYING "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT"....HAD THIS HAPPENED JUST MINUTES EARLIER, I COULD HAVE GONE OFF A CLIFF. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT IT OFF. I RESTARTED TRUCK AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME AT A VERY SLOW SPEED IN CASE I LOST P/S AGAIN. WHAT THE HECK FORD!!
FOR SEVERAL MONTHS I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL STICK AND BE VERY HARD TO TURN. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THERE ARE ISSUES WITH OTHER 2011 VEHICLES WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. THE PROBLEM COMES AND GOES. I DON'T KNOW WHEN THE POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT COMPLETELY BUT IT SEEMS LIKE IT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO RECALL AND THE FORD DEALER WANTS A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
THE PASSENGER A/C WILL NOT SWITCH TO COOL. IT IS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. I FEEL IT IS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. I KNOWN SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS THAT HAVE SAME PROBLEM.
WAS TURNING LEFT INTO WALMART WHEN STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT. VERY HARD TO TURN, HARDER TO TURN THAN MANUAL STEERING. PULLED INTO PARKING LOT TURNED OFF VEHICLE TO INSPECT. WHEN TRYING TO TURN AFTER RESTARTING VEHICLE, VEHICLE MADE LOUD WHINING SOUND. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON...THEN STEERING FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON...WITH IN A FEW MINUTES WHINING COMPLETELY STOPPED. LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHEN RUNNING. STEERING COMPLETELY OUT...NO POWER ASSIST WHAT SO EVER
FRONT LEFT COIL SPRING BROKEN & COLLAPSED.
POWER ASSIST STEERING JUST GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS
WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING AND WARNING CAME UP ON THE VIEW SCREEN SAYING TORQUE ANGLE SENSOR FAULT. AFTER PULLING VEHICLE BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND TURNING OFF THE KEY THE SYSTEM OPERATED NORMALLY, EXCEPT THERE WAS A LOT OF SLACK IN THE STEERING AND SOME PULSING WHEN STEERING AT SLOW SPEED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FIRESTONE TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE IT CHECKED AT THE DEALERSHIP. ON THE WAY THERE, IT LOST POWER STEERING AGAIN WHILE TURNING ONTO A BACK STREET. I SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT. THIS ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY PUT IT IN THE SHOP AND I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING UNIT REPLACED. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME WHEN I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP THAT IT HAD MALFUNCTIONED ON HIM WHILE TAKING IT INTO THE SHOP.THE PART WAS AROUND $1,600. WITH LABOR, ALIGNMENT AND TAXES, IT COST OVER $2,400 TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK. I HEARD THAT THE 2014 MODEL VEHICLES HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE, BUT MINE WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS A 2011 MODEL.
WHILE DOING 70 MPH ON NYS THRUWAY TRANSMISSION SUDDENDLY DOWN SHIFTED CAUSING REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP AND ALMOST BEING REAR ENDED BY TRACTOR TRAILER.TOOK IT TO DEALER TODAY AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT SINCE IT WAS RECALLED IN 2006 FOR SAME ISSUE THAT I WOULD NOW HAVE TO PAY TO GET TRANSMISSION TAKEN OUT AND HAVE WIRING IN TRANNY REPLACED TO CORRECT THE PROPLEM. BECAUSE IT HAS BRANDED TITLE WHICH IT HAD WHEN THEY REPROGRAMED IT THE FIRST TIME
THROTTLE BODY NEEDS REPLACED AFTER 120000 MILES AFTER CAR STALLED INTO 'LIMP MODE' GOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. TRUCK DIAGNOSED AT BAXTER FORD SOUTH IN OMAHA NE AND ANDERSON FORD IN LIBCOLN NE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN THE TRUCK GAVE NO WARNING SIGNS AND JUST HESITATED AND SLOWED DOWN WITH LITTLE OR NO RESPONSE TO THROTTLING. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CASES OF THIS WITH THE FORD F-150 2011. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER FORDS AROUND THAT YEAR THAT HAVE HAD THROTTLE BODY ISSUES. I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS IS. IT A RECALL?
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED WHILE GOING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL SO IT DID NOT DO DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND SO I DID NOT LOSE CONTROL. A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH, DISPLAYED TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THEN WRENCH WENT AWAY. PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, WHILE IN PARK, RPM'S WERE SITTING ABOVE 1500. TURNED THE TRUCK OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES, ATTEMPTED TO CAUTIOUSLY DRIVE AGAIN, RAN FINE FOR A FEW MINUTES AND DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED IT WAS DUE TO MOLDED LEAD FRAME.

THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO BRUCE WALTERS FORD LINCOLN KIA (LOCATED AT 302 S MAYO TRAIL, PIKEVILLE, KY 4150, (606) 444-2200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT PRESENTED THE DEALER WITH A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT IT WAS NOT A RECALL, BUT A WARRANTY AND THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS DRIVING AROUND 50MPH AND EXPERIENCED SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTING, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM, BUT ALL THEY DID WAS UPDATE SOFTWARE RATHER THAN FIXING THE REAL ISSUE: THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME. THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THIS PART SHOULD BE REPLACED ON EVERY AFFECTED VEHICLE BEFORE THEY EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM RATHER THAN AFTER.
STEERING IS VERY ERRATIC. DID NOT EVEN KNOW I HAD ELECTRIC STEERING. FROM PAST EXPERIENCE IT FELT LIKE I AM LOW ON POWER STEERING FLUID. WENT TO ADD FLUID AND DISCOVERED THERE IS NO PUMP OR HYDRAULICS. STEERING ASSIST IS VERY UNRELIABLE AND DROPS OUT WITH OUT NOTICE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER WITH CONTROL ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING TURNS IN EITHER DIRECTION. THIS IS NOT SAFE.
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON MAY 17, 2019 FROM WORK. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND HEARD A LOUD POP. THE BACK WINDOW SHATTERED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.I HAD THE DEFROSTER ON CLEARING THE DEW AND NOTHING ELSE HIT OR STRUCK THE GLASS IT JUST BURST OUT OF NO WHERE.
THE TRUCK ON ITS OWN DOWNSHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65-70MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. THE OBD ERROR CODE P0720. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AND RETURNED IT WITHOUT ANY UPDATES TO THE SOFTWARE OR REPLACING THE SPEED SENSOR.
MY EAPS (ELECTRIC ASSISTED POWER STEERING) SEEMS TO BE ACTING UP. THE ISSUE DOESN'T OCCUR ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN IT DOES ITS HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT THEN TURN IT BACK STRAIGHT WHEN MAKING A TURN. I HAVE MECHANICAL BACKGROUND AND RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TO SEE IF WAS A SENSOR BUT NOTHING COMES UP. I ALSO HAVE VIEWED SOME ONLINE FORMS AND IT SEEMS OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. STEERING STICKS. WHEN DRIVING AND CHANGING LANES OR TURNING ON SHARP CURVES, IT FEELS AS IF THE POWER STEERING BRIEFLY GOES OUT. WHILE TRYING TO CHANGE LANES AT A GAS STATION THIS PAST WEEKEND, STEERING BRIEFLY WAS STUCK CAUSING ME TO ALMOST HIT A NEIGHBORING VEHICLE. IT APPEARS CARCOMPLAINTS.COM HAS 320 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I DID TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AFTER A PREVIOUS ISSUE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND THEY CONFIRMED THE ISSUE.
THE POWER STEERING FAILED, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, AND COULD EASILY RESULT IN A DEADLY ACCIDENT. I AM NOT FINDING A RECALL FOR THIS, ALTHOUGH IT IS OBVIOUS THAT FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT IT FOR YEARS. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $2295 TO REPAIR IT.

THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC LIGHT COMES ON REGULARLY WHILE TRYING THE STEERING WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS. IT USED TO NOT BE AS COMMON, BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE I. THE PAST 6 MONTHS. TODAY I TRIED SLOWING DOWN WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND THE STEERING G LOCKED UP ON ME MID-TURN. BASED ON THE SAME DIAGNOSTICS AS HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH THIS PROBLEM, IT'S INDICATED THAT THE ENTIRE STEERING RACK WILL NEED REPLACED. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH NOT JUST THE 2011 MODELS, BUT WITH THE 2012 AND 2013 MODELS AS WELL.
WHEN THE 2 REAR DOORS ARE LOCKED, IT IS HAPHAZARD WHEN THEY WILL UNLOCK OR OPEN, EITHER MANUALLY OR FROM THE INSIDE. WHEN I HAVE CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS IN THE REAR SEATS AND I AM UNABLE TO OPEN EITHER DOOR IT CAN BE A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH IN CASES OF EMERGENCIES. NOT EVERYONE IS ABLE TO CRAWL FROM THE FRONT SEAT TO THE REAR SEATS TO GET BABIES OUT OF THEIR CAR SEATS. THE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH THE FRONT DOOR PANEL CONTROLS OR THE REMOTE KEY. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, THE DOORS STILL WILL NOT UNLOCK . THE DATE OF 5/01/2019 IS AN APPROXIMATE DATE, AS THIS HAS BEEN AN OFF & ON AGAIN PROBLEM. NOW THAT I HAVE BABIES TO TRANSPORT, IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 3RD GEAR INTO 1ST GEAR WITHOUT NOTICE, CAUSING THE TRUCK RPM'S TO SPIKE AND THE TRUCK COMES TO A SUDDEN STOP, ONCE CONTROL IS REGAINED THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT 1ST GEAR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND MUST BE DRIVEN VERY SLOWLY TO PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM OVER REVVING.

IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAVELING ON SECONDARY ROADS AND ATTEMPTING TO PASS , I DO NOT BELIEVE I WOULD HAVE MADE IT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON! I BROUGHT IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY RAN TESTS ON IT AND SAID IT DID CODE DTCP0016 WHEN DELETING THE CODE IT WOULD COME BACK!!! I HAVE PARKED THE TRUCK AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO THE NTSB ON SAME PROBLEMS. BACK TRUCK DOOR LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE DASH LIGHT SHOWS DOOR IS OPEN, BACK GLASS DEFROST WILL NOT COME ON, NONE OF THE DOORS WILL LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH CONTROLS OR REMOTE. THE TRUCK WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY WHEN IT STARTED SHOWING DOOR WAS OPEN. DOOR LOCKED WHEN I PUSHED THE REMOTE LOCK AND WILL NOT OPEN BACK UP AT ALL. BACK DEFROST STOPED WORKING ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE THE DOORS MESSED UP I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO TURN IT ON AND IT NEVER CAME ON.
AFTER RECEIVED A RECALL LATER FOR OSS ON MY TRUCK, BRING TO GERVAIS FORD AYER MA, ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER, TRUCK TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT, DEALER LOOK AT, AFTER ALL, THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND THE PROCEDURE WAS DONE BEFORE FOR A 3TH PART, BUT YEAR AGO THE VALVE BODY WAS CHANGE ON THE SAME DEALER AND THE PROBLEMS ARE SIMILAR, THEY TRY TO CHARGE ME FOR DIAGNOSIS, THAT I REFUSED.
WHILE DRIVING IN A DEEP CURVE, IT BECOMES HARD TO STRAIGHTEN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT IS LIKE IT LOSES ITS POWER STEERING FOR ABOUT 1-2 SECONDS AND ONCE YOU FORCE IT STRAIGHT, THE POWER STEERING BEGINS WORKING AGAIN. IT WILL BE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN START ACTING UP AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT IS A FULL ON STICK IN ONE POSITION, OTHER TIMES IT IS JERKY STICKING AS YOU ARE TRYING TO STRAIGHTEN IT BACK UP. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSE ME TO RUN OFF THE ROAD MULTIPLE TIMES; I HAVE HAD TO LEARN TO NOT PANIC WHEN IT HAPPENS AND JUST SLOW DOWN UNTIL I AM BACK IN CONTROL. THE EPS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ON THESE BEFORE DEATHS OCCUR. I HAVE THREE VERY YOUNG CHILDREN THAT I WON'T EVEN DRIVE AROUND DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS SO DANGEROUS TO TRY TO DRIVE ON IN CURVES. THIS HAS BEEN OFF AND ON HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 1.5 YEARS NOW. I AM GOING TO TRY TO SELL THE TRUCK AND HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING GETTING IT FIXED AND IF IT WAS A RECALL HER RECENTLY AND I FIND IT TO BE RIDICULOUS THAT IT WILL COST $2,000 ON A TRUCK THAT IS ONLY WORTH $10,000. IT IS EVEN MORE CRAZY THAT IT IS SOMETHING THAT HAS TO BE PAID FOR WHEN SAFETY IS THE SOLE REASON TO DO IT. FORD SHOULD DEFINITELY FIX THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND GET RID OF THE EPS SYSTEM.
