REAR VIEW WINDSHIELD SHATTERED AND BLEW UP AFTER MY REAR DEFROST WINDOW STOPPED WORKING. I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK WHEN IT BLEW UP AND I STARTED SMELLING SMOKE
TRUCK WAS IN 4TH OR 5TH GEAR . WAS TRAVELING APROX 40 - 45 M.P.H. WITH OUT WARNING TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO 1ST GEAR. SLIDING ON LOOSE GRAVEL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAHL FORD DAVENPORT (1310 E KIMBERLY DR, DAVENPORT, IA 52807) FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING THAT WAS NOT PRESENT BEFORE THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WANTED TO CHARGE THE CONTACT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,711.
DRIVING ABOUT 80 MILES PER HOUR, THE ENGINE BATTERY LIGHT AND OVERHEATING LIGHT CAME ON, PULLED OVER TO FIND THAT THE PULLEY BY THE IDLER PULLEY CAME OFF WITH PART OF THE ENGINE BLOCK. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
STAYS IN LOW GEAR AND WON'T UP SHIFT. SHUT TRUCK OFF AND AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS IT SHIFTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ONCE IT DID IT WHILE STOP AT A REDLIGHT. WENT TO PULL OUT AND IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF LOW GEAR. DID IT ANOTHER TIME WHEN I GOT IT IN AND FROM A COLD START ,PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR.

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, THE REVERSE INDICATOR WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOX FORD MAZDA (3560 28TH ST, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512) WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V582000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WAS UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 181,000.
WAS IN PARKING LOT AND STARTED VEHICLE. PUT IN DRIVE AND STARTED TO MOVE. HEARD LOUD POP SOUND. STOPPED AND GOT OUT TO LOOK OVER VEHICLE. FOUND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW HAD SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS DEFECT IN THE WINDOW. THE REAR WINDOW IS A THREE PART SLIDER WITH DEFROST. FORD SERVICE DOES NOT KNOW WHY THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE SHATTERED AND WILL NOT COVER COST OF REPLACEMENT. AT THIS TIME THE WINDOW HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. UNDERSTAND FORD HAS ISSUES WITH THIS HAPPENING AND WILL NOT COVER UNDER A POSSIBLE RECALL. IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE DEFROST SYSTEM IN WINDOW.
S19S07 / NHTSA RECALL 19V-075 IS CAUSING FAILURE ON TRANSMISSION WITH NO ISSUES. I FOUND ONLINE THAT MY 2011 F150 WAS DUE FOR THE 19S07 RECALL 19V-075 OR THE INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (OSS). THIS RECALL HAS TO DO WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND "AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR CAN CAUSE AN ABRUPT WHEEL SPEED REDUCTION, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE REAR TIRES TO SLIDE UNTIL THE VEHICLE SPEED SLOWS DOWN." I HAVE DRIVEN AND OWNED THE TRUCK SINCE BRAND NEW AND IT HAD 16 MILES ON IT. I'VE NEVER HAD A TRANSMISSION REPAIR OR PROBLEM OUT OF IT SINCE I'VE HAD IT. HOWEVER, NOT WANTING TO RISK HAVING AN ISSUE, I TOOK IT IN TO THE LOCAL DEALER FOR THIS RECALL, THEY THEN UPDATED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE WITH SOFTWARE TO PREVENT THIS. I RECEIVED THE TRUCK BACK AND DROVE IT HOME. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, I STARTED THE ENGINE, PULLED THE COLUMN SHIFTER INTO REVERSE, AND THE ORANGE LIGHT FOR THE SHIFTER DIAL ON THE DASH DISAPPEARED. NOTHING HAPPENED AT FIRST AND THEN IT SUDDENLY SLAMMED INTO REVERSE. THE SHIFTER LIGHT NEVER LIT UP UNTIL I PUT IT BACK IN TO PARK AND THE ORANGE SHIFTER LIGHT REAPPEARED. I THEN PULLED THE SHIFTER LEVER DOWN IN TO DRIVE AND AGAIN, THE ORANGE SHIFTER LIGHT ON THE DASH DISAPPEARED AND THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT GO INTO GEAR FOR A MOMENT AND THEN SUDDENLY SLAMMED INTO DRIVE. AGAIN, WITH NO SIGNAL ON THE DASH THAT IT WAS EVEN IN A GEAR, DRIVE, PARK, ETC. TOOK IT BACK TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER EXPLAINING THE SITUATION AND A DAY LATER THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS A FAULTY TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME CONNECTOR, WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, AND WOULD COST ME CLOSE TO $1,000 TO BE REPAIRED. I REFUSED THE REPAIR THAT WAS NOW GOING TO COST ME CAUSED BY THE RECALL AND SOFTWARE UPDATE. AGAIN, THE TRUCK HAD NO ISSUES BEFORE TAKING IT IN TO BILL UTTER FORD FOR THE TRANSMISSION RECALL AND SOFTWARE UPDATE.

WHILE DRIVING 35-40 MPH, THE FIFTH AND SIXTH GEARS BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, IT LUNGED FORWARD EVEN WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE BEGAN EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THREE MONTHS AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 184,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND WAITED THIRTY MINUTES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER HAD NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
AS A RESULT OF THE UNWANTED TRANSMISSION SHIFTING RECALL ISSUE, MY TRUCK HAS EXPERIENCED DAMAGE CAUSING PERMANENT TRANSMISSION DAMAGE. DEALER CLAIMS THAT FORD HAS ONLY AUTHORIZED A COMPUTER UPDATE; THEIR UNWILLING TO REPAIR THE RESULTING ISSUE UNTIL FORD GIVE AUTHORIZATION TO DO SO. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID FORD IS ONLY AUTHORIZING COMPUTER UPDATE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE FAULTY PROGRAM HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION.
RECALL 12C23 DEALER& MANUFACTURER STATE DOESN'T APPLY DESPITE SAME SYMPTOMS IN RECALL. DEALER WITNESSED ISSUE WHILE DOING RECALL 19S07 I TOLD THEM OT HAD STARTED ABOUT THE SAME TIME I DISCOVERED THE CURRENT 19S07 RECALL. FORD SAID THEY WERE REPORTING THE ISSUE AS WELL.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHUT OFF, RESTARTED, AND DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION FORD ORANGE PARK (7700 BLANDING BOULEVARD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244, 904-270-9943) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BASED ON THE MANUFACTURER'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM (16N02), THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MOLD SHOULD BE RE FRAMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,280.
TRUCK HAD HAD A RECALL ON THE ISSUES THAT WE ARE HAVING. NOW WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT RECALL NO LONG EXIST AND THAT IT WAS TAKEN OFF OF RECALL. WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENOR CIRCUIT. CODE P705 AND IT'S HOING TO COST ALMOST 600.00 TO FIX. IS THERE STILL AT RECALL ON THIS?
WE HAD A MARCH SNOW STORM ON 3-18-19 AND TEMPERATURES WERE BELOW FREEZING. I HAD TURNED ON MY REAR WINDOW DEFROST AND WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK DRIVING ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FOUND THAT ONE OF MY REAR WINDOWS HAD SHATTERED. THIS IS A WINDOW WITH THE DEFROSTING ELEMENT IN IT. AFTER INSPECTING THE WINDOW I FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY IMPACT TO THE WINDOW. AS SHOWN IN THE ATTACHED PICTURES. THE WINDOW JUST SHATTERED ON ITS OWN. WAS APPEARS THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY THERMAL EXPANSION FROM THE HEATED DEFROSTER.
2011 FORD F150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ODOMETER FRAUD. *LD *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK ON A CITY STREET, UPON TURNING INTO A DRIVEWAY THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. THIS CAUSED A REAL PROBLEM TRYING TO CORRECT THE TURN. UPON INVESTIGATING THIS IT HAS COME TO LIGHT THAT THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST STEERING. NOT ONLY ON THIS 2011 F150, BUT VARIOUS OTHER FORD MODELS AND YEARS OF MANUFACTURE. THE DEALERSHIP AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED. I BELIEVE IT IS TIME TO ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND FORD SHOULD OWN UP TO THIS PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR YEARS! WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER BE PUT INTO THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION AND EXPENSIVE REPAIR? IT'S TIME NHTSA TO STAND UP AND TELL FORD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM! THIS VEHICLE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED ON THE ROAD ANYMORE AND IT SITS IN THE DRIVEWAY. NOW, IF THE NHTSA WANTS TO PAY $2,000 TO REPAIR THE EPAS, ALL WILL BE GOOD. THEN THE NHTSA CAN SEND THE RECEIPT TO FORD IF THEY EVER ISSUE A RECALL.
AFTER COMPLETING A REQUIRED RECALL, MY TRUCK SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER 'ZERO'D' OUT WHILE IN MOTION. THIS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES, MOST RECENTLY WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN IT OCCURRED ON THE FREEWAY, THE BACK WHEELS FELT LIKE THEY LOCKED UP. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO CHECK FOR FLAT TIRES, AS THAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT. ALL TIRES CHECK OUT OK. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON. THIS CAUSED THE SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER TO RETURN TO NORMAL FUNCTIONALITY. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AS I THOUGHT THAT THE NEW UPDATE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE PROCESS WAS SUCCESSFUL AND COULD NOT BE REDONE. I READ A COUPLE OF INTERNET BLOGS OF WHERE OTHER OWNERS HAD THE SAME TYPE OF ISSUE. IF THE UPDATE CAUSED OTHER FAULTY PARTS TO BE EXPOSED, I UNDERSTAND. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT LOCK ITS TIRES WHILE IN MOTION, ESPECIALLY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AS THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE PICTURE THAT IS ATTACHED IS WHEN THE ISSUE FIRST OCCURRED. THE SAME INDICATORS OCCURRED THE SECOND TIME, WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY.
THE REAR DEFROST MALFUNCTIONED AND ONE OF THE THREE REAR WINDOW PANELS SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN TO SCHOOL WITH MY 3 CHILDREN IN THE BACKSEAT. WE WERE GOING 25 MPH THROUGH A TOWN.
2011 F150 ECOBOOST: THUD CAME FROM TRANSMISSION, SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN 5TH GEAR. SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK DURING THIS TIME AND TRUCK GOES VERY SLOWLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO LOW GEAR AND CAUSED THE WHEELS TO SEIZE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HUTCHESON FORD (308 N OUTER RD, ST JAMES, MO 65559) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,949.
WHILE DRIVING THE ORANGE WRENCH APPEARS IN THE DASH BOARD. THE POWER IS SHUT DOWN AND THE ENGINE RUNS REAL ROUGH LIKE IT ONLY A 2 CYLINDERS. BUT, THERE IS NO POWER AND THE GAS PEDAL DOESN'T ACCELERATE THE TRUCK. THE MOTOR IS RUNNING, THO ROUGH, BUT THERE IS NO POWER AT ALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES TO ME IN THE PAST 8 MONTHS WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE TRUCK OFF, WAIT A FEW MINUTES, THEN RESTART THE TRUCK AND IT RUNS AGAIN. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD TWICE, LEAVING WITH THEM FOR 8 HOURS BUT THEY CAN'T FIND ANY INFO ON THE TRUCK COMPUTER TO SHOW ANY PROBLEMS. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN IT TO 2 DIFFERENT MECHANICS BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND AND PROBLEM LOGGED INTO THE COMPUTER. FORD SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM EVEN THO I TOLD HI THE FORD FORUM BOARD LIST THIS PROBLEM FROM OTHER TRUCK OWNERS. THE BOARD LISTS THE PROBLEM EITHER FROM THE THROTTLE BODY OR THE THROTTLE SENSOR BUT FORD AGAIN STATES THEY ARE UNAWARE OF THIS ISSUE. LOSING POWER AND STALLING IN TRAFFIC COULD BE A REAL SERIOUS ISSUE AND CAUSE SOMEONE TO GET KILLED!!

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR INTO 1ST GEAR, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DRASTICALLY DROP IN SPEED AND SKID OUT OF CONTROL. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNWILLING TO ASSIST WITH THE VEHICLE'S REPAIRS. *JS
ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13, 2019, I WAS TRAVELING IN MY 2011 FORD F150 VIN#(XXXX) ON THE HIGHWAY. DURING THIS TIME, I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 65-70MPH. ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, I FELT A LARGE KNOCK IN THE TRANSMISSION, AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR INTO 1ST GEAR, ON ITS OWN, WITHOUT WARNING! THIS ACTION CAUSED THE REAR TIRES TO LOCK UP, AND THE TRUCK TEMPORARILY SKID OUT OF CONTROL, AND DROP SPEED TO APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH IN THE MIDDLE LANE ON THE HIGHWAY. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO RETAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND THERE WAS NOT ANYONE NEAR ME, AND I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A SERIOUS CRASH. ALSO, THANKFULLY, I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK, AND I LUCKILY DID NOT HAVE MY 5-YEAR-OLD OR 2-YEAR-OLD IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TO COMPOSE MYSELF, AND RE-EVALUATE THE SITUATION AT HAND. TRUCK WAS RECALLED FOR "DRIVABILITY ISSUE IN SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT". HAD ATW INSPECTION AND RECALL FIX 3/12/2019. AS DRIVING BACK FROM DEALERSHIP THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED I RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REBUILD COST $3000!
REGARDING SAFETY RECALL NOTICE19S07, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SOFTWARE TO FIX THIS UNTIL SOMETIME IN MAY, TO CALL BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF MAY. HOW CAN I MAKE FORD RESPOSIBLE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME IN THE MEANTIME? THANKS!
THE ENGINE REVS AND RPM SUDDENLY INCREASE REGARDLESS OF GEAR. AFTER THE MPH AND REST OF FRONT DISPLAY GOES BLANK. AFTER PULLING OVER SHUTTING OF ENGINE AND RESTARTING THE TRUCK THE SYSTEM RESETS. VERY DANGEROUS AT HIGH SPEEDS.
I WAS SIDESWIPED BY ANOTHER PICK UP TRUCK. THE CONTACT SENT ME THROUGH A GUARDRAIL, DOWN AN EMBANKMENT (ROUGHLY A 20FT DROP), AND NOSE FIRST INTO A FIELD. MY 2011 F150 WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY ALLSTATE. MY PROBLEM IS NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY WHERE I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 58 MPH. THANKFULLY I WASN'T INJURED BUT, MY SAFETY EQUIPMENT WAS FAULTY.
AS EXPERIENCED BY MANY OTHERS, ONE OF THE FIXED REAR WINDOWS SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH IN A STRAIGHT LINE ON A MARYLAND STATE ROADWAY THAT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION. A VERY LOUD POP/CRASH ALERTED ME TO THE DAMAGE. I COULD NOT IDENTIFY ANY PHYSICAL IMPACT THAT CAUSED THE GLASS TO SHATTER. THIS OCCURRED ON 4 MAR 2019.
STEERING IS STIFF WHEN COLD, AND WHILE MAKING TURNS IT STICKS IN THE TURN POSITION AND IS DIFFICULT TO CORRECT WHILE DRIVING.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CODE SCANNED WAS P0016. THE CODE SCANNER STATES IT'S AN ISSUE WITH THE TIMING CHAIN LOOSENING OVER TIME. THE TRUCK HAS A VERY PROMINENT RATTLE SOUND FOR ABOUT 2-3 SECONDS UPON AN INITIAL START UP IN THE COLD WEATHER. THE OTHER DAY I WENT TO PASS SOMEONE, AND LOST POWER IN THE ENGINE AND MY TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST THE CAR. FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE, AS PEOPLE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND CANADA ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH 2011-2012 FORD F150 WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE. TO ME THIS SEEMS LIKE AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD SHOULD TAKE CARE OF. SEEMS LIKE AN ENGINEERING FLAW TO ME. THE TIMING CHAIN COMING LOOSE, AND ENGINE RATTLING LIKE IT'S COMING APART HAS TO BE CAUSING DAMAGE AS TIME GOES ON. THE PROBLEM I HAD WHILE TRYING TO PASS THE CAR WAS ON A LANE 55MPH ROAD.
MY 2011 F-150 WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT SHOW UP IN THE IN THE INDICATOR. IT REQUIRED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME IN THE TRANSMISSION TO CORRECT THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR ISSUE. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED BY FORD (12C23) THAT COVERED THE SAME ISSUE FOR 2011 - 2013 MODEL YEAR F-150 WITH 6R80 TRANSMISSION. MY F-150 WAS NOT IN THE MANUFACTURE DATE RANGE, BUT IT HAS ALL THE ISSUES THAT WERE IN THE 12C23 RECALL. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO FORDS ATTENTION, BUT THEY INDICATED THAT IT IS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. I HAVE ATTACHED THE RECALL NOTICE FOR REFERENCE. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO COVER ALL 2011 F-150 THAT HAVE THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL. IT ALSO SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THEY DID ISSUE A RECALL 19N01 FOR THE MOLD LEAD FRAME FOR THIS F-150, BUT REFUSE TO COVER THE REPAIR DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE SPECIFIC CODES FOR THIS RECALL WERE NOT PRESENT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL: AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS SAT FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME, 8+ HOURS, THE STEERING COLUMN OR RACK SEEMS TO LOCK UP. WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE, YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY STEERING RESPONSE FROM THE RACK. THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED IN PLACE WITH ONLY 15-20 DEGREES WORTH OF 'PLAY'. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMS TO STICK PERIODICALLY WHILE NAVIGATING DOWN ROADS (CITY AND HIGHWAY). WHEN THE ROAD CURVES AND YOU TURN, THE STEERING SEEMS TO CLICK, OR JUMP A LITTLE, MAKING THE VEHICLE OVER REACT. THIS HAS CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS TO OTHERS, AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED AT THIS TIME FOR THE 2011 MODEL YEAR BY FORD.
WHILE DRIVING THE OTHER DAY MY STEERING GOT REALLY HARD TO TURN ALL OF A SUDDEN, THEN IT WORKED NORMALLY. IT HAS SINCE HAPPEN A COUPLE TIMES USUALLY WHILE MAKING A TURN - I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IF IT HAPPENS IN A TURN I MIGHT HIT SOMEONE. I HAVE SINCE READ THAT SOME VEHICLES ARE BEING RECALLED - BUT DIDN'T SEE MINE. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO COVER ALL ELECTRIC POWER STEERING VEHICLES.

(784 WOOSTER RD, MILLERSBURG, OH 44654) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. .*BF CONSUMER STATED TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR ON TWO CONSECUTIVE DAYS. ONE TIME AT 55MPH AND SECOND TIME AT 35 MPH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE UPSHIFTED FROM FIRST TO FIFTH GEAR INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND THEN TO CHIPOLA FORD (4242 LAFAYETTE ST, MARIANNA, FL 32446). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING TRANSMISSION OIL AT THE BEARING HOUSING AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE DEALER STATED THAT IN ORDER FOR THEM TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR, THE OIL LEAK HAD TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000.

THE STEERING IS NOW HARD. THE EPS NO LONGER IS WORKING. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT JUST BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER.
TRUCK GETS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK OR REVERSE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE THEN REMAINED IN FIRST GEAR UNTIL SLAMMING INTO 5TH
FIRST PROBLEM IS THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. TODAY I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK EVERYTHING WORKING FINE, MODERATE TRAFFIC, AND I HAPPENED UPON A SHARP CURVE IN THE ROAD WHERE I COMPLETELY LOST ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AND ALMOST CAREENED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I PULLED OVER TO GATHER MYSELF AND SLOWLY DROVE TO THE CLOSEST PULL OFF. SUDDENLY MY POWER STEERING WAS WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES NOW. FORD CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT THEY ARE HAPPY TO REPLACE THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING BOX FOR $1800. IT IS AN UN SERVICEABLE PART SO IT MUST BE REPLACED. THIS SYSTEM IS FAULTY AND DANGEROUS. THIS ALL OCCURRED DURING CITY DRIVING. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT.
REAR WINDOW PASSENGER SIDE SHATTERED. REAR DEFROST WOULD SOMETIMES COME ON AND SOMETIME NOT. SUSPECT THE WINDOW OVERHEATED AND SHATTERES. MANY OF THESE INCIDENTS REPORTED IN US AND CANADA.
WHEN TURNING THE STREERING WHEEL IT GETS HARD .YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE BOTH HANDS ON STREERING SO YOU CAN BRING IT BACK THE WHEELS WANTS TO CONTINUE TURN IT WILL RELEASE AFTER A WHILE HARD TO CONTROL
WHEN ENTERING INTERSTATE IN RAIN ENGINE MISFIRED TRUCK SLOWED. FORD ENGINEERS MODIFIED BOOST INTAKE CHARGED ME $274.80 TO CORRECT DESIGN FLAW.
THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT REGISTER REVERSE GEAR. BACK UP CAMERA DOES NOT WORK CONSISTENTLY R DOES NOT LIGHT UP OVER THE COURSE OF TWO DAYS, THE REVERSE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY REGISTER SOMETIMES YES SOMETIMES NO, THEN IT STOPPED REGISTERING REVERSE COMPLETELY. THE BACK UP CAMERA WORKED INTERMITTENTLY THEN STOPPED COMPLETELY. R DOES NOT LIGHT UP ON THE GEARS OR ON THE DASHBOARD SCREENS. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, WHEN STOPPED REGISTERING REVERSE ALTOGETHER. IM IN VERO BEACH VISINTING SO I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO TOLD INFORMED ME OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 12V-190. I PROCEEDED TO THE LOCAL FORD TO GET THE MATTER RESOLVED BUT THEY REFUSED STATING THAT MY TRUCK IS NOT UP FOR RECALL FOR THIS MATTER. I CALLED FORD DIRECTLY AND THEY ALSO STATED THAT MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL.
POWER STEERING IS "STICKY " AND DOES NOT RETURN TO CENTER AFTER A TURN , THIS REQUIRES CONSTANT STEERING EFFORT TO STAY WITHIN ONES LANE. THERE IS ALSO A STICKING POINT WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL IN ONE DIRECTION.
