THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER BOTH STATED THAT THE LEAD FRAME WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THE LEAD FRAME REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE RECALL INDICATED THE FAILURE OF THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR THAT CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO DOWNSHIFT UNEXPECTEDLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.

WHILE DRIVING MY STEERING RACK SUDDENLY BROKE MAKING IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO HANDLE AND AVOID VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAY ON A CITY ROAD ABOUT TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID CRASHING INTO OTHER VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE FISHTAILED AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PLAZA FORD (1701 BEL AIR RD, BEL AIR, MD 21014, (410) 838-3100) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE WAS LOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000. .*BF CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE BECAME IDLE. WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MILES AN HOUR PLUS THE TRUCK WILL WITHOUT WARNING DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR. THIS HAS CAUSED SIGNIFICANT CONTROL PROBLEMS WHEN THE WEATHER IS BAD AS ROADS ARE SLICK. WE ALSO LOOSE OUR SPEEDOMETER. WE HAVE TAKEN OUR TRUCK INTO FORD AND THEY TWICE REPROGRAMMED THE TRUCK. THE FIRST TIME FAILED RIGHT AWAY THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID IT WAS GOOD AND WHILE DRIVING HOME WITH OUR KIDS IN THE CAR IT ONCE AGAIN DOWNSHIFTED WITHOUT WARNING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MILES AN HOUR. WE NOW HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT HAVING OUR FAMILY IN THE TRUCK FOR FEAR OF LOSS OF CONTROL WITHOUT WARNING. THIS STARTED HAPPENING WHEN WE FIRST PURCHASED OUR TRUCK IN JULY OF 2018 AT 148,000 MILES IT NOW HAS 162,000 AND IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY.
AFTER PARKING THE TRUCK FOR SEVERAL HOURS AT A SECURE POLICE DEPARTMENT PARKING LOT, ON MY APPROACH TO THE CAR I USED THE REMOTE START AND WHEN I ENTERED THE VEHICLE I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW, BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS SHATTERED. INSPECTION OF THE WINDOW I CLEAR OBSERVED THE BOTTOM LEFT OF THE WINDOW WAS A BURNT MARK ON THE OUTSIDE. IT'S CLEAR THAT THE REAR DEFROST WHEN IN REMOTE START STATUS MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED THE WINDOW TO CRACK. RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET, MANY FORD CUSTOMERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TOMMY VAUGHN FORD (1201 N SHEPHERD DR, HOUSTON, TX 77008), BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIR BECAUSE DIAGNOSTIC CODES: P20, P722, AND P731 DID NOT APPEAR DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SHOWING A P75 DIAGNOSTIC CODE, WHICH INDICATED THE SAME PART EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND SIDED WITH THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A GENERIC WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 234,689.

I RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM GOING AROUND WITH FORD IN THEIR TRANSMISSION 6-SPEED TRANSMISSIONS AUTOMATICS IN YEARS 2011 TO 2014 I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MY VEHICLE IS ON THIS RECALL LIST SO I CAN TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE USUAL SCENARIO REGARDING REPAIRS TO THIS PROBLEM
POWER STEERING ELECTRIC ASSIST IS NOT WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN DIFFICULT TO TURN, PULLING OUT OF GAS STATION ON TO HIGHWAY
ENGINE COMPLETELY TURNS OFF OR DIES AND ALL INSTRUMENTS ALSO TURN OFF. NOT ABLE TO STEER OR NAVIGATE THE VEHICLE AT ALL. IT'S COMPLETELY DEAD. ALSO TRANSMISSION LURCHES FORWARD WITH NO WARNING AT LOW SPEEDS CAUSING YOU TO SLAM ON BRAKES OR HIT WHATEVER IS IN FRONT OF YOU.
WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN GETTING ON THEY HIGHWAY WHEN STEERING GOT HARD, MAKING IT HARD TO TURN ALMOST GETTING IN AN ACCIDENT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON BUT WENT BACK OFF. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ,WENT BACK OFF. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE FEBRUARY, CALLED LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP BASICALLY WAS TOLD NO RECALL, NO COMPLAINTS, BUT THEY CALL LOOK AT IT AT OUR COST. IT'S GOTTEN WORSE,SINCE THEN GOING AROUND CURVES OR MAKING TURNS IT TAKES FULL STRENGTH TO MAKE THE TURN . SOME TIMES ITS EASY LIKE IT SHOULD BE .BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY AND AFTER LOOKING AT IT ,THEY SAID IT NEEDS,TO GO TO DEALERSHIP THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH IT .THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT .
I GOT INTO MY FORD F150 TO GO TO WORK AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP ON ME, I COULD NOT GET IT TO STEER AT ALL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP REPAIR CENTER THAT I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY CAME AND TOWED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT. THE NEXT DAY THEY CALLED ME AND TOLD ME IT WAS THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE ENTIRE THING WAS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER 2000.00. I HAD THE TRUCK FOR LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS.
NO OR POOR BRAKING RIGHT AFTER ENGINE STARTUP AND TRAVELING IN REVERSE (VACUUM ASSIST). VERY POOR BRAKING AT EMERGENCY OR PANIC STOP (AS IF THE BRAKE LINES NEED BLED). TRAVEL SPEED AT ABOUT 45MPH. ONLY 27K MILES ON VEHICLE. SIMILAR TO CONCERNS THAT PROMPTED THE FORD 19S07 WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THE ELECTRIC VACUUM ASSIST UNIT, BUT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THAT. FORD DEALERSHIP WANTS OVER $100 TO DIAGNOSE BRAKE SYSTEM. VERY SCARRY DRIVING!

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SHOULDER, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE FIRST TIME IN DECEMBER OF 2018 AND WORSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THOROUGHBRED FORD (8501 N BOARDWALK AVE, KANSAS CITY, MO 64154) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. LONG MCARTHUR FORD (3450 S 9TH ST, SALINA, KS 67401, (785) 823-2237) AND THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM MANUFACTURER CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12C123 AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V190000 (POWER TRAIN, EXTERIOR LIGHTING) DUE TO THE MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP IS NOT WORKING. I'M UNABLE TO GET INTO MY CAR, START IT THEN DRIVE OFF. IT NEEDS TO WARM UP FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES TO FILL THE PUMP. BASED ON RESEARCH THAT I HAVE DONE, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PART 15N05. BUT MY VEHICLE DOESN'T LIST IT AS A RECALL. CAN I GET AN EXPLANATION WHY MY VEHICLE DOESN'T LIST THE RECALL? THANKS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO O'REILLY AUTO PARTS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SPEED SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,000.
WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND TRUCK LOST ALL POWER WITH NO WARNING. I SHUT IT OFF AND RESTARTED IT PRESSED THE THROTTLE DOWN AND HAD NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. SHUT IT OFF AGAIN AND RESTARTED IT AND IMMEDIATELY MASHED THE THROTTLE..MADE IT TO A GARAGE..TURNED IT OFF..WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON NO WRENCH LIGHT AND OR RAN FINE. THE MECHANIC FOUND NO CODES BUT I TOLD HIM TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY AND POSITION SENSOR..HE DID..ON THE WAY HOME SAME THING HAPPENED..TOOK IT TO LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY DID DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS..THERE IS A PROBLEM AND A VERY DANGEROUS ONE
MY F150 TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING FROM 3RD TO 1ST IN JANUARY 2019 ON A HIGHWAY BY MY HOUSE. THIS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES AND I TOOK TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP. REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND TWO WEEKS LATER I GOT THE RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD 19S07 IN FEBRUARY. FORD SAID THAT IF I TOOK TO A FORD DEALER, THEY COULD HELP, BUT I DIDN'T BECAUSE I WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I CALLED A FORD DEALER AND IN MAY THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE SOFTWARE TO FIX. I WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE MY TRUCK SINCE FEBRUARY. I FEEL THAT I'M STUCK IN THE MIDDLE. WHAT WOULD FORD HAVE DONE IF I TOOK TO A FORD DEALER IN JANUARY?
AFTER I STARTED MY PARKED TRUCK VERY EARLY THIS MORNING AROUND 6:20 AM WHEN IT WAS STILL DARK AND VERY COLD, I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROSTER, AT WHICH TIME I HEARD A LOUD POP BUT COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHERE THE SOUND CAME FROM. IT WAS NOT UNTIL LATER IN THE DAY THAT I NOTICED THAT MY REAR RIGHT WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. AFTER I LOOKED ONLINE, I REALIZED THAT THIS WAS A PERSISTENT AND COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK (FORD F150). I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT AS THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BUT I COULD GET IT REPLACED FOR AROUND $700.00. WHY DOESN'T FORD FIX THIS ISSUE IF SO MANY TRUCKS OWNERS ARE SUFFERING.
WHEN I TURNED ON MY REAR DEFROSTER THIS MORNING WHILE IT WAS PARKED, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND WAS NOT AWARE OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED UNTIL LATER WHEN I SAW THAT MY REAR WINDSHIELD'S RIGHT SIDE GLASS HAD COMPLETELY SHATTERED. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE,I LEARNED THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY FORD F150 OWNERS, I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME ALMOST $680 TO REPLACE THE WINDOW.
MY TRUCK HAS THE 6R80 TRANSMISSION AND EXHIBITS A TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT IN 5TH GEAR WHEN STARTING. I GET A WRENCH INDICATOR AND MY SPEEDOMETER READ ZERO AND THE ODOMETER DISPLAYS DASHES WHILE DRIVING. AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION ON AND OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES THE ISSUE IS CORRECTED.
2011 F150 WITH RECALLED TRANSMISSION 6R80 HAS PROBLEMS DESCRIBED IN RECALL BUT MY VIN IS NOT REPORTING IN RECALL. THE RECALL NUMBER IN QUESTION IS FORD RECALL #16S19, NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 16V248000. MY TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING TO FIRST AT ANY SPEED CAUSING TIRES TO LOCK AND SKID AS WELL AS LOOSE POWER COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING. TOOK TRUCK TO TED BRITT FORD THIS MORNING AND THEY CONCUR WITH THE ISSUE BUT AGAIN VIN IS NOT IN RECALL. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY RECALL. TRUCK IS UNDER 10 YEARS OLD AND 115K MILES.
THE ISSUE I HAVE WITH MY 2011 FORD F150 IS WITH THE BACK GLASS SHATTERING. MY TRUCK WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I REMOTE STARTED THE TRUCK. WHEN I WENT OUT TO LEAVE THE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOTHING HIT THE GLASS AS IT WAS PARKED AND NOT IN MOTION ON THE DRIVEWAY. THE REAR DEFROST IS SET TO AUTO WHEN REMOTE STARTING SO THE BACK DEFROST WOULD OF COME ON WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE WINDOWS HAVING FROST ON THEM. LOOKING ONLINE THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD F150'S AND REMOTE START WITH AUTO DEFROST. LUCKLY NO ONE WAS IN THE TRUCK AS THIS COULD OF SERIOUSLY HURT SOMEONE WHEN THE GLASS SHATTERED.
I STARTED MY TRUCK AND TURNED IN THE REAR DEFROST. APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND ACTIVATING THE REAR DEFROST I WAS ON THE ROADWAY WHEN I HEARD A LOUD SOUND AND NOTICED MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED BUT OTHERWISE IN TACT. THE WINDOW FRACTURES COVERED THE ENTIRE WINDOW. I INSPECTED THE DAMAGE AND SMELLED WHAT I BELIEVE WAS WIRES OVERHEATED/BURNING. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 9 DEGREES AT THE TIME. I BELIEVE THE REAR DEFROST LIKELY MALFUNCTIONED AND OVERHEATED THE WINDOW TOO QUICKLY CAUSING IT TO SHATTER. AT THE TIME THE DAMAGE OCCURRED I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT.
INTERMITTENT ADVANCE TRAC ERROR MESSAGE SEEMS TO CAUSE TURN SIGNALS TO MALFUNCTION (YOU HAVE TO HOLD LEVER IN POSITION TO KEEP FLASHERS ON TO INDICATE TURNING/LANE CHANGE). PROBLEM GOES AS MYSTERIOUSLY AS IT CAME- FROM 5MPH TO 55MPH. TURNING TRACTION CONTROL OFF HAS NO EFFECT ON IT. IN TWO WEEKS THIS PROBLEM LASTED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES ON ONE OCCASION; AND FROM MY MORNING COMMUTE (25MIN) TO MY EVENING COMMUTE (25MIN) ON ANOTHER.
ON THE MORNING OF JANUARY 17TH 2019 I WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON TX-114 BETWEEN N KIMBALL AVE AND E SOUTLAKE BLVD TRAVELING AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT WHEN MY 2011 F150 DOWNSHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR CAUSING THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP AND THE REAR END STARTED TO DRIFT TO THE LEFT. I REGAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. I EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND KEPT THE SPEED BELOW 30MPH AND DROVE DIRECTLY TO THE GRAPEVINE FORD DEALERSHIP. I BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO FORD RECALL 16S19, NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 16V248000. A FEW YEARS AGO THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING HARD AND THE LEAD FRAME WAS REPLACED AT 5 STAR FORD IN LEWISVILLE, TX.
TRUCK TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTS TO A VERY LOW GEAR JERKING THE TRUCK AND LOSING CONTROL. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER FOUR TIMES SINCE 2011. STILL DOWNSHIFTING SUDDENLY. FORD JUST RECALLED IN RECALL # 19507 FEBRUARY 2019 CERTAIN TRUCKS FOR RECALL FOR THE DOWNSHIFTING. MY VIN# WAS EXCLUDED. FORD ASSIGNED CASE# CAS-17164754-N-T2C3 AND TOLD ME TO PAY FOR THE PARTS MYSELF AND KEEP THE RECEIPT IN CASE FORD RECALLS MY VIN#. FORD HAS EXCLUDED MILLIONS FROM THIS RECALL THAT ARE DANGEROUS TO OPERATE WITH THIS DEFECT. I TOW A TRAVEL TRAILER WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND MY FEAR OF THE DOWNSHIFT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AS THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE 2011 AND HAVE CHOSEN A HALF BAKED RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM.
STEERING STICKS AND IS ERRATIC ON THE INTERSTATE. WHEN TURNING LEFT THE STEERING SOMETIMES STICKS GIVING THE IMPRESSION THE TRUCK IS OVER ROTATING AROUND CORNERS. CHANGING LANES ON THE INTERSTATE IS DANGEROUS AS SOMETIMES THE STEERING STICKS CAUSING THE TRUCK TO VEER. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME UNTIL I FOUND TSB 11-08-18. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS! I'M NOT HAPPY AND BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. WILL IT TAKE SOMEONE GETTING KILLED FIRST? STEERING IS PRETTY IMPORTANT.

DRIVING ON I95 TRAVELING AT 81 MPH, TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED HARD TO AROUND 30 MPH ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE REAR ENDED BY A SEMI. WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0 AND ODOMETER READING WENT TO ALL DASHES. WAS ABLE TO GET TO SIDE OF INTERSTATE. WAS TOLD THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS PROBLEM ESTABLISHED IN 2016 WITH MY YEAR TRUCK BUT WAS TOLD BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS MADE IN MARCH OF 2011 IN KANSAS IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. IF IT WAS MADE IN DETROIT IN MARCH OF 2011 IT WOULD BE COVERED. OUTRAGEOUS. AFTER RESEARCH, I FIND THIS IS STILL HAPPENING ON THIS MODEL AND YEAR OF FORD F150. ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED AND ARE STILL OCCURRING BUT I CAN GET NO RESPONSE FROM FORD AS TO WHY THIS IS NOT BEING FIXED UNDER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WANT SOMEONE TO KNOW BEFORE A DEATH OCCURS IF ONE HAS NOT OCCURRED TO DATE.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 50MPH WHEN MY TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY POWERED DOWN AND WENT TO 1ST GEAR. AFTER DOING REASEARCH THE ISSUE IS LEAD FRAME TO THE TRANSMISSION.
STEERING INTERMITTENTLY LOCKS UP ON PRIMARILY LEFT TURN. PROBLEM HAS BEEN WORSENING TO INCLUDE TURNS TO THE RIGHT. WHEN IT HAPPENS, STEERING WILL TOTALLY LOCK UP MAKING DRIVING AND COMPLETING TURNS IMPOSSIBLE. EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD. SLIGHTLY TURNING STEERING TO THE LEFT & RIGHT SOMETIMES CORRECTS THE PROBLEM. SPEED AND ROAD CONDITIONS DO NOT SEEM TO BE A FACTOR AS TO WHEN THE STEERING WANTS TO LOCK UP, JUST TURNS. CONDITION HAS BEEN WORSENING OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. COLD WEATHER, HOWEVER, DOES SEEM TO WORSEN THE PROBLEM.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE PARKED IN THE GARAGE
I WAS DRIVING ONE AFTERNOON AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL IT WOULD LET OUT A HIGH PITCHED SCREECHING NOISE AND MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP. I COULDN'T TURN IT LEFT NOR RIGHT BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK BUT IF I FORCED IT IT WOULD UNLOCK BUT STILL MAKE THE SCREECHING SOUND. AND THIS IS WHERE I AM AT ALMOST WRECKING 5 TIMES THAT DAY TRYING TO GET HOME AND NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE TO WORK WITH MY CAR DUE TO THE FACT MY POWER STEER IS FAILING FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER.

THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DRIVE NORMALLY HOURS AFTER THE FAILURE, BUT THE SERVICE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHAKER'S FAMILY FORD LINCOLN (831 STRAITS TURNPIKE, WATERTOWN, CT 06795, (860) 945-4900) WHERE THE DEALER DENIED THAT THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED AND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED, BUT ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR NEXT WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
MY 2011 FORD F150 WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SAILS WHILE DRIVING. IT STARTS OUT WORKING FINE AND THEN ONCE THE TRUCK IS UP TO SPEED IT'S DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL BETWEEN 11 O'CLOCK AND ONE O'CLOCK ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE MALFUNCTION DOES NOT THROW A CODE ON THE PCM SO THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S FINE. BUT I'M LOOKING AROUND ON A LOT OF DIFFERENT BLOG SITES IN HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SUDDENLY NOT WORKING. I DRIVE-IN SNOWY ICY CONDITIONS FOR WORK DURING THE WINTER IN THIS PROBLEM HAS ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE JERKY MOTION YOU HAVE TO PERFORM TO CHANGE LANES OR STEER. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IF THIS ISSUE COULD BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE THERE'S NO RECALL FROM FORD.
ON MONDAY JANUARY 6TH I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND LET IT WARM UP THEN WHEN I TRIED TO PUT MY TRUCK INTO REVERSE AND WHEN I PUT THE SHIFT LEVER IN REVERSE THE ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION PRNDL DISPLAY DID NOT INDICATE THE LETTER R FOR REVERSE AND THE BACKUP LAMPS DID NOT OPERATE. AFTER THAT I TRIED EACH GEAR AND NONE OF THEM WERE WORKING SO I PUT IT INTO PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE IT SLAMMED INTO GEAR AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. THE DAY BEFORE I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE AFTER IT WARMED UP THEN PUT IT INTO PERVERSE AND IT DID NOT GO INTO REVERSE AT ALL OR DRIVE. AS A RESULT I TOOK IT TO MIDAS IN MY TOWN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE CODES AND BEHAVIOR SO THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR IT TO BE FIXED FOR FREE. I DID SO AND I ASKED ABOUT A RECALL AND THEY REPORTED TO ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY FULL CHARGES THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DEALERSHIP AND I AM MISSING WORK AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS DELAY AND I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON MY VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
AFTER EXPERIENCING MY F150 DOING PERIODIC DOWNSHIFTS TO 1ST GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS LAST FALL, I STARTED TRYING TO RESEARCH THE PROBLEM. I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL TO FIX A FAULTY OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR. BUT ONLY FOR TRUCKS MADE IN DEARBORN OR KANSAS CITY. NOT FOR MINE. ULTIMATELY AFTER DECIDING TO FIX THIS ISSUE I LEARNED THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS NOW BAD AS A RESULT OF THE SEVERAL DOWNSHIFTS WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MOST LIKELY...AND THE DAMAGE RESULTING FROM GOING FROM 6TH TO 1ST GEAR SUDDEN LIKE. THE FIX...THAT JUST THIS MONTH HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN A NEW RECALL (#19S07)...WOULD HAVE BEEN PAID FOR IF THE RECALL WAS ISSUED EARLIER AND MAYBE I WOULD BE $7,000 BETTER OFF TODAY. ( I PAID FOR A NEW TRANNY A FEW MONTHS AGO. ). I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH FORD BUT GOT NO SYMPATHY OR UNDERSTANDING....JUST A LADY WHO RE-RECITED WHAT MY RECALL LETTER STATED. THAT IF YOU ARE PART OF THIS RECALL, TAKE YOUR TRUCK TO A FORD DEALER AFTER MARCH 4TH AND THEY WILL REPROGRAM THE FAULTY PART. BUT IF YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN VICTIMIZED..YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK. SEEMS KIND OF UNFAIR THAT THEY WILL ONLY STEP UP IF YOU HAVEN'T YET HAD A PROBLEM. ECONOMICS, FOR SURE. I'M OUT OVER $7,000 BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM THAT THEY ADMIT TO. AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVES WHO SAY THEY ARE AUTHORIZED TO TAKE CARE OF THINGS, WON'T SO MUCH AS GIVE ME ANOTHER PERSON OR DEPARTMENT TO DISCUSS THIS WITH. SEND A LETTER, SHE SAID... DANG RIGHT I WILL.
