I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION ALMOST IN FRONT OF MY WORK IN TOWN. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH ON BOLL WEEVIL CIRCLE AND APPLIED BRAKES WITH PLENTY OF ROOM TO STOP. MY BRAKES DIDN'T SEEM TO DO ANYTHING SO I PUSHED THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND I WAS BARELY SLOWING DOWN. I BELIEVE I WAS SLOWING ONLY BECAUSE I WASN'T ACCELERATING. MY ANTI LOCK BRAKES DID NOT WORK. WEATHER CONDITIONS: LIGHT RAIN. I DID NOT SKID! I HIT THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF A BLAZER WHICH WAS COMING FROM THE RIGHT PERPENDICULAR TO ME. DPS CASE 6687819 LOCAL CASE 2016-07-4597. I HAVE HANDS FREE IN MY VEHICLE BUT NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES WERE IN USE, THERE WERE NO DISTRACTIONS. I WAS ALONE RETURNING TO WORK AFTER LUNCH. AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE REPAIRED I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY RAN A CHECK AND REPLACED THE VACUUM PUMP AT NO CHARGE WITH A DIFFERENT TYPE. I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES SINCE. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY DID NOT COVER MY INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE AND THE INCREASE IN MY INSURANCE.
WHILE DRIVING ON HWY WHEN ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE LOOSES POWER AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RE-START IT, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THEN WHEN DRIVING ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS AND ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE TO PASS, AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS, THE ENGINE MISS FIRES, LOOSES POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON SINCE THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS "AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE ECOBOOST AND THE AIR CHARGE COOLER". THEY SAID THE FIX IS TO PUT A INTERCOOLER DEFLECTOR (PIECE OF PLASTIC OVER THE INTERCOOLER), CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS AND DO A VEHICLE SOFTWARE UPDATE WITCH IS GOING TO COST AROUND $700 TO FIX. OUTRAGEOUS COST FOR A TUNE UP AND A PIECE OF PLASTIC FOR SOMETHING THEY KNOW ITS A "ONGOING PROBLEM" AND DON'T WANT TO HAVE A RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND THEY KNOW ABOUT IT BUT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTEE I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. WONDER HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE THIS ISSUE?! THIS IS DEFINITELY THE ONLY AND LAST FORD I WILL BUY. THIS DOES NOT GUARANTEES THAT ITS GOING TO STOP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. WITH THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY I COULD BUY AN AFTERMARKET INTERCOOLER, DO A COMPLETE TUNE UP AND STILL HAVE MONEY LEFT.
WHILE IN MOTION WENT TO TURN LEFT THE STEERING LOCKED UP MADE A SQUALLING SOUND, TRACTION LIGHT DISPLAYED AND ALSO, POWER STEERING ASSIST DISPLAYED AND, SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK DISPLAYED AND TURN SIGNALS WERE NOT STAYING ON,(HAD TO HOLD THEM MANUALLY.TOOK TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS AN EPAS FAILURE. LAYMEN TERMINOLOGY IS THE STEERING GEAR HAS FAILED. MILEAGE ON VEHICLE IS 39,882, AND WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $1450.00 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I DO HAVE A REPAIR INVOICE BUT HAVE NO WAY TO SCAN. BE HAPPY TO MAIL A COPY AND ANY THING ELSE NEEDED.
STEERING FROZE AND I COULD NOT TURN LEFT. WE WERE DRIVING INTO TOWN FROM THE LAKE, PULLING OUR BOAT. BEGAN TO NOTICE THE TRUCK WAS NOT ALLOWING ME THE ADJUST LEFT AND ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER WE COULD NOT TURN LEFT. I PULLED AS A HARD AS I COULD AND COULD ONLY MOVE THE WHEEL ABOUT 1 INCH LEFT. NEXT DAY THE RADIO DISPLAY SCREEN SAID SOMETHING ABOUT POWER STEERING SYSTEM. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MCKIE FORD IN RAPID CITY SD BY DRIVING ONLY WHERE I COULD TURN RIGHT. FORD DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING GEAR AND CHARGED ME $1500. AND NO GUARANTEE THE "NEW" EPAS GEAR BOX WON'T FAIL. VERY FRIGHTENING TO BE DRIVING AND NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE OR TURN LEFT! AND I SEE FORD HAS STARTED RECALLING SOME OF THERE VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME SYSTEM. HOW CAN THEY RECALL SOME NOT ALL? IN HINDSIGHT, THERE WAS A SYMPTOM FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS: WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A LEFT CURVE THE TRUCK WOULD "BUCKLE" OR KICK EVER SO SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT AS IF THE TIE ROD WAS LOOSE. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP A COUPLE TIMES AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO TELL ME WHY IT WAS DOING THAT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE STEERING MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER AND THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TRUCK WILL RANDOMLY SHIFT FROM 5 GEAR TO FIRST GEAR WHILE DRIVING CAUSING MY WHEELS TO LOCK UP. TRUCKS HAS ALSO BEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST GEAR INTO 5TH GEAR WHEN STARTING UP WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW THE TRUCK TO ACCELERATE.
FORD F150 TRANSMISSION RECALL, OUR VEHICLE WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE, WE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE CONDITION BUT OUR VIN# AND VEHICLE ARE NOT INCLUDED ALTHOUGH OUR VEHICLE IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING OF THE OTHER VEHICLES INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. YOU GET INTO THE VEHICLE TO LEAVE AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND IT WILL NOT GO, IF YOU CONTINUE TO TRY IT WILL FINALLY GO INTO REVERSE BUT WILL NOT DISPLAY ON THE DASH AND HAS NO BACK UP LIGHTS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. MY TRUCK WON'T STOP I HAPPENS IN THE MORNINGS A TRUCK SUDDENLY STOPPED I PUT MY BRAKES ON MY TRUCK DIDN'T STOP IN TIME AND I HIT THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME GOT IN ACCIDENT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S WINDOW SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT HAD THE WINDOW REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE USED. WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS. VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF SOMEONE IS DRIVING IT THAT ISN'T AWARE OF THE ISSUE.
ON HARD ACCELERATION LIKE WHEN ENTERING A HIGHWAY OR TRYING TO PASS ANOTHER CAR IT WILL MISS FIRE CONTINUOUSLY THRU THE ACCELERATION.ON SEVERAL OCASIONS IT DOWN SHIFTS AND THEN THE ENGINE LOSES POWER.THIS HAS HAPPINED MEANY TIMES IN THE LAST 2 TO 3 YEARS.
THE BRAKES FAIL AND THE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THERE IS NO WARNING WHATSOEVER. I ALMOST HIT A HOUSE. I HAD JUST STARTED THE TRUCK, SHIFTED INTO GEAR AND PROCEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD AND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP.
WITHOUT WARNING I CAME STARTED BY VEHICLE AND THE POWER STEERING WAS NO LONGER WORKING. THE ONBOARD COMPUTER ADVISED OF A POWER STEERING FAULT. THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE EASILY HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON ROADS WITH SHARP CURVES AND/OR WHILE THESE VEHICLES WERE PULLING A TRAILER ENDING IN A POTENTIALLY FATAL COLLISION.
TRUCK WOULD NOT START BUT HAD POWER. PAID FOR NEW STARTER AND STILL WOULD NOT START. WHEN ABLE TO GET TRUCK STARTED MANUALLY UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK- WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON DASH AND TRUCK WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS, NO CRUISE CONTROL, AND NO LIGHTS ON DASH FOR R P N D M. TRS CODE PULLED ON MY TRUCK WHEN TESTED AND THIS IS PART OF A FORD RECALL BUT FORD STATING MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL YET MY TRUCK IS HAVING THIS ISSUE AND THEY DONT HAVE TO FIX IT.
2011 FORD F150 XLT SUPERCAB 4X4 WITH 50,000 MILES HAS PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST STEERING (EPAS) AND FORD HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BUT REFUSED TO REPLACE OR ASSIST WITH REPLACEMENT AND WANTS APPROXIMATELY $1600 TO REPAIR. THE ENGINE ON MY 2011 ECOBOOST 3.5 L V6 FORD F150 SHUDDERS AND STALLS WHEN YOU TRY AND ACCELERATE. THE PROBLEM IS SPORADIC. THE TRUCK HAS 67,000 MILES AND HAS STALLED OUT WHEN I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE INTO BUSY INTERSECTIONS OR MAKING TURNS AT LEAST THREE TIMES AND HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE FOUR TIMES. IT WAS QUITE SCARY AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THE ISSUE IS MY TRUCK AND NOT A FORD PROBLEM, THOUGH THIS IS CLEARLY SOMETHING THAT HAS OCCURRED IN COUNTLESS 2011 ECOBOOST F150 ENGINES AS IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THE RPM JUMPING AROUND, SKIP GEARS, LOOSES POWER, BACK TIRE LOCK UP GOING 45 MILES AND GAUGE JUMP TO 70 MILES AND RPM AT 5,IT AS BEEN TO FORD DEALERSHIPS FIVE TIME, CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEMS, THIS TRUCK IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AND WAS HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY ,AND NO LIGHTS COME ON
WHEN PRESSING REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER BUTTON LIGHT NO LONGER COMES ON. ENSURE REAR WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY CLOSED, ISSUE NOT RESOLVED. PROBLEM FIRST NOTED BACK IN FEBRUARY DURING SNOW STORM WHERE LIGHT WOULD COME ON SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER FIRST TURNED ON. NOW LIGHT AND DEFROSTER DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE AMONG ALL THE NEWER (2010 AND UP) F150.
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUDDER VERY VIOLENTLY WHILE LOSING POWER. WAS TRAVELING APPROX. 70MPH
AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE YARD THE TRUCK STARTED SHIFTING FROM 1ST, 2ND, TO 5TH AND THEN BACK TO 1ST GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR WAS REPLACED TODAY AND IT FIXED THE ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, HOWEVER, WAS NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF THE RECALL OF 2011 F-150 LEAD FRAME. APPARENTLY, THE TRANSMISSION "NUMBER" IS DIFFERENT FROM THE RECALLED VERSION, HOWEVER, SINCE ONE TRANSMISSION WAS RECALLED, NOT SURE WHY ALL 2011 MODELS WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WE WERE FORCED TO INCUR OUT OF POCKET COSTS WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED IN A RECALL. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE APPEARED ON THE DASH SCREEN. TRUCK WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 5TH GEAR AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER WHO REPLACED LEAD FRAME.
DRIVING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE 44 OUT OF JOPLIN, MO WHEN I WAS DRIVING AROUND A SLIGHT CURVE. THE STEERING LOCKED UP. I COULD NOT STEER AT ALL. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID CRASHING INTO ONCOMING CARS. IF THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE CLOSE TO ME IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT OF REALLY BAD CONSEQUENCES. I WAS LUCKY. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THE STEERING GEAR WAS CRUSHED. I CALLED FORD FOR AN EXPLANATION AND WAS LITERALLY TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY HAVE TO DO. I WANT OTHERS TO KNOW THAT THIS HAPPENED WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER. THE DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING ME 1500.00 PLUS CHANGE TO FIX THIS. I CAN'T SEE HOW I WILL EVER TRUST THAT STEERING AGAIN.
SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT COMES ON MONTHLY AFTER TURNING LOCK TO LOCK. TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT STAY ON AFTER THIS HAPPENS UNTIL THE LIGHT RESETS ITSELF A DAY OR SO LATER.
TRANSMISISON HAS SKIPPED OR CLUNKED INTO GEAR SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT BYT DEALERSHIUP STATED ON EVERY OCCASSION THAT THEY COULD NOPT REPLICATE ISSUE. THIS MORNING I STARTED DRIVING TO WORK AND THE WRENCH TOOL SHOWED ON PANEL, SPEEDOMOTOR DOES NOT MOVE FROM ZERO, AND THE TRANSMISISON IS STUCK IN 5TH GEAR. MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY? I CNA NOT GET ON THE HIGHWAY, I NEARLY CASUED AN ACCIDENT IN LOCAL TRAFFIC AS STARTING IN 5TH GEAR FROM STOP LIGHT EVERYONE WAS HAVING TO GO AROUND ME AND I NEARLY GOT HIT MERGIN INTO TRAFFIC EVEN WITH FLASHERS ON.ALSO MY TRIP METERES IS ALL DASH LINES EXCEPT FOR THE MILES DRIVEN LAST TRIP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FUEL PUMP SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE ODOMETER WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
TROUBLE WITH THE TRANSMISSION GEARING DOWN WHILE DRIVING, I AM SENDING IN THIS COMPLAINT IN CASE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT OR CAUSES ME TO HAVE A WRECK THIS WILL BE ON FILE. WHEN I AM RUNNING IN REGULAR SPEED THE TRANSMISSION WILL GEAR DOWN WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING, IT DOES IT ITSELF.

ALSO, WHEN SWITCHED TO REVERSE, THE "R" FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V190000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS WHILE THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I NOTICED MY 2011 FORD F-150 WAS RUNNING ROUGH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED A CRACKED 3 CYLINDER HEAD. IN THE BEGINNING IT WAS A BLOWN 3RD CYLINDER HEAD AND WAS GOING TO COST $5,000 TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER AND LOOK AT THE REST OF THE ENGINE. ENDED UP BEING A CRACKED CYLINDER. NOW LOOKING AT A NEW ENGINE TO THE TUNE OF $8000. THIS HAS A 5.4 LITER TRITON ENGINE WITH LESS THAN 137,000 MILES ON IT. I BOUGHT IT IN 2013 WITH 500 MILES ON IT. 90% OF MILES ARE HIGHWAY. I EXPECTED TO GET AT LEAST 175,000 MILES OUT OF IT. I REMEMBER HEARING A LOUD POP WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD BUT THOUGHT IT WAS A ROCK THROWN UP FROM A TIRE. THE ENGINE RAN FINE AND I DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING. UNTIL A FEW WEEKS LATER WHEN IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH. I HAD THE SPARK PLUGS CHANGED AT A LITTLE OVER A 100,000 MILES AS RECOMMENDED. MY BELIEF IS THAT THE #3 SPARK PLUG BLEW CAUSING THE DAMAGE TO THE #3 CYLINDER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEED, THE POWER CONTROL MODULE SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM SIX TO FIRST GEAR. IN ADDITION, THE RPMS INCREASED FROM SEVEN TO EIGHT THOUSAND RPMS, WHICH CAUSED THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AT HIGH SPEEDS, SUCH AS PASSING ON AN INTERSTATE OR ACCELERATING UP AN INCLINE, THE TRUCK SHUDDERS VIOLENTLY AND ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES. IF DRIVER MAINTAINS SPEED, ENGINE LOSES ALL POWER AND ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. LOSS OF POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IS DEADLY. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE UP A HILL IN BUSY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. TRUCK SHUDDERED AND LOST POWER FOR 5 SECONDS. THE TRUCK COASTED UNTIL I COULD APPLY POWER AGAIN TO THE ENGINE. APPLYING POWER CAUSED MORE SHUTTERING, BUT ENGINE DID NOT LOSE POWER AGAIN BECAUSE I WAS CLOSER TO THE TOP OF THE HILL AND NOT AS MUCH STRAIN ON THE ENGINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE DEALER BILLED THE CONTACT FOR THE REPAIRS, CLAIMING THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT DONE THROUGH THE NORMAL RECALL PROCESS. THE CONTACT WAS ASSURED THAT HE WOULD BE REIMBURSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT STATED THAT THE REIMBURSEMENT WOULD NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL THE FOURTH QUARTER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
MY TRUCK VIBRATES WHEN DRIVING. I'VE CHECKED THE FUEL INJECTORS, COIL PACKS, GOTTEN A TUNE UP AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME. I'VE HAD SEVERAL MECHANICS (CERTIFIED) PULL CODES AND IT KEEPS SAYING IT IS THE COIL PACKS (WHICH IVE REPLACED, NO CHANGE). I WAS ALSO TOLD THE TRUCK HAD A SHORT AND FOR WOULD HAVE TO TAKE ENGINE APART. STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS!

WHEN DRIVING THE TRUCK (WHAT SEEMED LIKE) SHIFTED HARD THEN THE WRENCH SIGN CAME UP ON THE SCREEN AND THROTTLE WOULD NOT WORK. I WAS DOING 50 MPH AT THE TIME AND HAD TO HIT THE HAZARDS AND PULL OVER. ONCE I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND TURNED IT BACK ON IT SEEMED OK, PULLED THE CODE P2112 THROTTLE BODY. LOOKED ONLINE AND MANY , MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. CAN'T BELIEVE THIS ISN'T A RECALL SEEING HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS.
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY DOING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE TRUCK DOWN SHIFTED STRAIGHT TO FIRST GEAR WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE BEHIND US TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND NEARLY MISS AN ACCIDENT. IT STAYED IN FIRST GEAR DESPITE PRESSING THE GAS. ONLY GOT IT TO SHIFT TO SECOND GEAR AFTER PUTTING INTO MANUAL AND SHIFTING UP FROM THERE. THERE WAS A SEPARATE OCCURANCE WHERE THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO READ OUR SPEED (WAS AT 0 MPH FOR MILES) AND THE SCREEN WHERE ALL THE FUEL ECONOMY INFO SHOULD BE SHOWED BLANK SPACES. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ISSUED FOR JUST THIS (WE WERE NOTIFIED BY OUR FORD APP) BUT WHEN I CALL OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT BEEN PROVIDED WITH A REMEDY YET. IT IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE OUR TRUCK IN THIS CIRCUMSTANCE YET NOBODY IS ABLE TO PROVIDE THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING AT THIS TIME, ALTHOUGH THE RECALL WAS ISSUED APRIL 25, 2016. UNSURE WHAT WE ARE TO DO AS THIS IS OUR MAIN VEHICLE.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,000.

WARMING MY TRUCK UP TO LEAVE FOR WORK THIS MORNING. TURNED ON WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER AND REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER TO REMOVE HEAVY DEW. REAR DEFROSTER TURNED ON FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND SHUT OFF BY IT SELF. WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED IT HAD TURNED OFF, PUSHED THE BUTTON AGAIN AND IT DID NOT TURN ON. ABOUT 2 MINUTES LATER I HEARD A LOUD "POP" AND LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR TO SEE THAT THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED.

TRYING TO REPLACE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE. FORD MANUFACTURED TRUCK WITH P235/75/R17 TIRES, AND THIS IS ON DOOR PLATE. NO ONE WILL SELL THIS SIZE TIRE FOR THIS TRUCK WHICH HAS TOWING PACKAGE, EXCEPT FORD. THE ONLY SIZE ANYONE WILL SELL IS P265/60/R18 OR P275/55/R20. ONE EXCEPTION: TIRE RACK WILL SELL P255/65/17 IF RIMS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. TWO FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS EVEN HAD PROBLEMS.
