The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The vehicle had previously been serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train) at the dealer; however, the failure occurred after the recall was repaired. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made abnormal sounds while accelerating or coming to a complete stop. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that he needed to pay out-of-pocket for the diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 133,743.
while driving at approx 60mph the vehicle down shifted to low, no response from the accelerator, the wrench showed in the display after selecting ok the display changes to all dashes
The steering wheel will often get stuck or catch when turning left. It will do it consistently for a period of time, then quit for a while. It has done it while driving on winding roads, causing the vehicle to cross over the center line in the middle of a turn. It has also caused over correction when pulling the wheel back to the right. We had it looked at by an independent mechanic. He was able to replicate the problem, but was not able to find the cause. There have not been any warning lights or messages. The vehicle has never been in a wreck.
Have had the vacuum pump replaced twice and it’s dead again causing brake failure, the timing chain stretch already cost me one engine and now a year later the chain has stretched again on the new motor not very happy about that and passenger air bag turns on and off randomly with no codes only a warning again for no reason.
The truck drops out of 2nd and 3rd into 1st gear. The electronics (Speedometer pegged and radio display goes in and out constantly) are shorting. This is a know problem with a recall that needs to be expanded. My truck was produced at the same production plant during 2011 as the recall but for some unknown reason is not included in the recall. The NHTSA needs to force Ford to expand the recall before more people are killed. Eventually there will a class action lawsuit against Ford and the NHTSA for knowing about the transmission short and not doing anything about it.
I was driving about 8-0 mph when I heard a loud bang! Thought someone had crash my Truck but only to find out My rear window shattered! They have had my truck more then a then Five times since I purchased the Truck and I was told it was a Good truck and have been fully inspected!!! Which later I found out it was only had a safety check which also was false! Please Help!!!
Timing chain stretching causing vehicle to stop on roadways until towed
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the electronic vacuum pump emitted a loud winding noise. The contact let the vehicle run for approximately 45 seconds before the noise ceased. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was not able to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 145,416.
Traveling at highway speeds approximately 65 to 70 miles per hour. The vehicle down shifted to 2nd and then 1st gear on it’s own. The downshifting caused the rear tires to lockup and the vehicle simultaneously jerked to one side. Luckily I was able to maintain control and move over to the shoulder safely. I was able to drive home manually shifting through the gears.
While driving on the interstate my truck suddenly flashed a wrench on the display. At that point the truck shifted by itself into a lower gear almost causing an accident and for me to lose control of the truck. When this happened the speedometer stopped working and went to zero and the mileage disappeared and showed all dashes. Once I turn the ignition off, it seems to fix the problem for the short term, but after 20-30 mins it does the exact same thing again. This happened for the first time 3 weeks ago and has happened 5 or 6 times since. I have stopped driving the truck. Ford could not tell me specifically what was wrong with the truck because they couldn't recreate the error due to the fact that they wouldn't drive it for 20-30 mins for the problem to occur.
Hello, I have a 2011 ford f150 eco boost. Just staring my brake pedal is very hard to push causing the vehicle to have no brakes. Took to dealer and said the vacuum pump is bad. Good new there a recall so they would fix for free. Mechanic called me back hour later stating the recall has expired so i have to pay for parts and labor. We are very confused why a safety recall that involves no brakes would expire?! This needs to get extended for safety reasons. I'm glad i didnt have my kids driving or they probably would have gotten into a accident! Please have ford look into this known problem.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the rear windshield failed to defrost as needed. In addition, the contact's son noticed a crack had formed in the rear windshield causing moisture to enter the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the contact was informed that the windshield would be covered under warranty. The dealer replaced the defrost switch and the rear windshield; however, the contact was charged for the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Despite the repair that was performed on the vehicle, the failure returned, and the vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 65,496.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would enter limp mode. The vehicle's electric vacuum pump was replaced under Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 15NO5 at 23261 miles on 1/28/2019. Under that program, Ford extended the warranty on this part to 10 years/150k miles. This part produces vacuum to assist braking and to operate the four wheel drive system. When the truck is first started after sitting for some time, the operator has only manual braking and that can easily render the brakes insufficiently boosted for the amount of force an operator can push on the pedal, resulting in unintentional motion, forward or reverse of the vehicle. This pump also supplies vacuum to the parts that operate the four wheel drive, resulting in incorrect or incomplete selection of the driving mode, particularly when the vehicle is cold and during cold weather. This could cause sudden deceleration to a stop. This resulted in a dash warning to "check 4x4". Now, three years and 13k miles later, the part is once again operating unreliably, but the dealer tells me the vehicle has passed the ten year time limit and the program is over. This is a 5 $500 part, plus installation.

I just recently had the recall for transmission reprograming completed. 3 weeks later, the transmission dropped to 1st gear while driving. No indicator lights illuminated on the dash. A sudden downshift could cause the loss of vehicle control resulting in an accident. Any vehicle following me could have collided with me. Upon researching the issue, I found this is a common problem with this vehicle. The problem has not been reported to a dealer or service center. No indicator lights illuminated on the dash. After turning the truck off and restarting, the transmission would not shift beyond 1st gear. While applying steady/consistent pressure to the gas pedal, the engine would rev/surge intermittently.
I was pulling out of my garage and as I applied the brakes to stop before hitting my neighbors garage there was no power brakes. By the grace of God I pushed hard enough on brakes and was able to avert an accident.
While driving down the road the vehicle shifts down to 1st gear. Lights on dashboard go out briefly. This causes big safety issue when i am doing 70 miles an hour on the highway with cars behind me. Ford has a Customer Satisfaction program out on this issue. (16N02) But they put a limit on the work of 10 years or 150,000 miles. So I have to pay now because we bought this used and the previous owner never brought it in. the vehicle now has 157,000 miles on it. This is not listed as a safety recall and i believe it should as it poses a huge safety issue on the roads as I am driving.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that in order to change the shifter upwards from the drive position, the vehicle must be in manual mode. Was driving to take my grandson to the doctors today and my power steering went completely out with no warnings almost crashing Into an oncoming vehicleStaring the vehicle was difficult locked up unable to move vehicle
According to the dealership service center, the exhaust manifolds are the reason the turbochargers have failed. The exhaust manifolds are not covered by warranty, so they are declining to repair the turbochargers. I really like this truck, but I"m very disappointed with the warranty company. I also think it's shameful will go cheap and not fix it. Ford seems to do that from time to time.
12/6-Driving car at 47 mph, abruptly slowed down, resulting in car throwing me forward with my head over the steering wheel. My chest was sore the next day from the seat belt. 12/7-googled issue/saw a recall existed. Called Capital Ford, Wilmington NC-explained issue in detail and concern for my safety. Advised to wait until 1/6 for warranty appt. Called back again-no openings. Called Burgaw Ford-no appts until later in January. Called Ford customer service. First Rep. placed me on hold and did not come back. Second rep.-explained, event details, she told me she would call me back after talking to the location. No call was ever received. 12/8-Called Capital Ford-explained-asked if there were any cancellations-told no and they never received cancellations. Called Ford customer service-Agent called all locations within 75 minutes of the area with no luck regarding appts except 1 avail. 70 mins away on 12/17. In every call I clearly communicated my concern for my safety. Advised, I have a required work trip this Sunday-Wed. in SC-so my car is needed. Pleaded for assistance getting my car fixed, a rental car or guidance on the reimbursement process if corrected by someone else. Uniform answers, Must wait until 1/6, no rental, no reimbursement. My assumption by Ford's actions is the car is safe to drive-despite my personal experience indicating otherwise. Unclear why all are so dismissive of the recall issue?

There was a service board recall on the brake vacuum pump. It regularly gets corroded and seizes up. Ford said they’d replace it up to 150,000 miles or 10 years. They know it’s a problem and will continue to go bad but doesn’t offer a fix for it. At any point, a person can loose power brakes and hit something. I almost rear ended someone because I was unaware of this issue. It had been fixed by Ford and is now bad again. They want $6-700 for a part that can go bad yearly and without notice. Instead of replacing a part, coming up with a fix would have been high priority. I doubt many Ford owners know their part is bad until it’s too late. I’ve looked for fixes but I’m not engineer and I’m sure Ford has some good ones.
The transmission is down shifting from 2nd to 1st intermittently. The transmission makes a thumping sound then goes back to normal. Speedometer is pegged at 140 miles an hour and the radio display is blinking on and off.
Exhaust manifold warping causing exhaust leak.
My speedometer is pegged at 140 mph. I can reset it, but it gets pegged again after driving within 30 miles.

The contact eventually regained consciousness and woke up in an ambulance. The contact mentioned his wife was in the vehicle at the time of the failure. The vehicle was towed to an unknown location. There was an independent investigation and the black box data was collected. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified but no further assistance was provided. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
The power steering cut out and this made the vehicle more difficult to steer, especially at lower speeds, potentially increased risk for a crash.

Vehicle speedometer stopped working, the total mileage indicator read all dashes “- - - - - -“ and the transmission was shifting to the wrong gear. For example from a stop the truck would immediately be in fifth gear. The yellow wrench indicator came on briefly and then went away. I turned the truck off then on again and the problem went away and I made it home. Today I took the car to get the safety recall completed, and on my way home the car speedometer stopped working again and I was not able to accelerate while I was making a left turn. This left me stranded in the middle of the intersection and I had to restart the car and the problem went away. I asked the dealer if they would look into the lead frame extended warranty and they would not honor the coverage because I am at 155,000 miles and the coverage ends at 150,000 miles and because it is a 10 year coverage but my car was manufactured 10 years and 3 months ago. The recall did not fix my issue and the vehicle is not safe to drive. The issue is however intermittent and I am a college student who must commute 1hour away to attend the university. I don’t feel safe driving the vehicle, there was one point when the car down shifted rapidly and caused my car to jerk to a stop. I was only going 15 miles per hour so it was not too dangerous. Please help. The recall software update is all they were willing to help me with. Although the problem still persists.
The vehicle transmission shifts down into lower gear while driving. This is already a known recall, but my complaint is that the vehicle manufacturer fix to the safety issue is not an effective remedy and does not fix the problem at hand. I originally took my car in for a safety recall. The recall was was for a transmission issue that causes the vehicle to to downshift to first gear randomly which could lead to an accident or death if traveling at high speeds. The recall "procedure" was performed which was just a software update to the vehicles programming, but the issue still persisted. I told the dealership service advisor that my car was still downshifting intermittently and that my car was still dangerous to drive. I was told that the software update was just a fix to cover fords liability against recall lawsuits, but that the actual reason for the safety issue was the molded lead frame. Ford has an extended warranty on this part for up to 150,000 miles on the vehicle. My vehicle was at 155,000 miles. My car was still a danger to drive and the recall software update did not fix the true issue at hand. Ford is screwing people over by offering a fix to their safety recall that doesn't actually fix the safety issue and instead just frees them from liability from a potential lawsuit. The fix to the safety issue in these affected vehicles is in the molded lead-frame component in the transmission which is causing the vehicle to downshift, the issue does not have to do with the vehicles "programming". I was charged to have the molded lead-frame replaced which should have been covered under the safety recall. The molded lead-frame replacement fixed the intermittent downshifting problem along with many other intermittent electrical issues. Ford should be paying to have all molded lead-frames in affected vehicles changed as the fix to their safety recall.
Warped exhaust manifolds
Both my airbag lights remained on & off between 2017 until 2019, after more than 4 repairs 2013-2015 on the airbag system, according to the dealer I have to change the evaporator every 2 years. But since the last repair of the A/C in 2015 it is still working. In 2017 i had some throttle problems, I had to clean my fuel injectors and throttle body and change the sparkplugs. Both airbag light remained on/off. On 26 january 2019 my power steering failed and both airbag lights remained permanently on. I had to buy a new racking pin February i 2019. With regard to airbag lights after scanning they told me I have to change the OCT ,or the airbags, after the latest scan july 2019 I had to change both seat belts. I still have not change them. I donot trust them any more ( the dealer went suddenly bancrupt nov 2021) I have the impression my problems are either factory made maybe recalls can shed more light and or bad unprofessional service. My latest problem since 24 sept 2021 is failure of the transmission 6R80 the scan result P0720, P0722 recommendation replace lead frame connector, the filter, gasket and the oil. NHTSA & Ford have recalls/CSP since 2016 till end 2020 on the lead mold frame problem . According to the new local dealer I am not eligible for the recall/CSP because 10 years has passed . " the warranty cover a total of 10 years or either 150.000 miles whichever occurs first" , . I bought my F 150 xlt 2011 3.7L ecoboost on 13 april 2011 but my mileage is since 24 September 86.681 miles . Can i apply for recall or CSP ? My result of vin # says 0 unrepaired recalls , what does that mean .I have sent FoMoCO 3 letters since october 2021 they never answered me . I am an international /foreign client living in Curacao former Netherlands Antilles. Do we share as clients the same benefits as USA clients?
while driving the truck the steering wheel locks up and you can not turn the steering wheel.I was in a parking lot when I had to slam on my brakes. I almost crashed into a person. I looked on the on the web and there are many complaints.
I was driving down busy highway at approx 55 mph when without warning my truck downshifted. I was terrified and it was all I could do to keep control of my vehicle. I was lucky that I wasn’t ran over. After I regained my composure I attempted to pull up to a drive way and truck would barely move. Ended up having it towed to my home. I have since did research and found the recall. I will be contacting my local ford dealer to inquire about repairs. This is a very dangerous problem. I anticipate that ford will correct the problem without cost to me.
My vehicle has had (3) random occurances of the transmission shifting into a high gear and basically leaving my truck unresponsive when I am in traffic. For example, on the most recent occurrence, which occurred on 8/31/2021, I pulled out onto a street and my truck would not accelerate whatsoever, leaving me in a very dangerous situation as traffic was coming both ways on the street and I had no power. The vehicle did not display any check engine lights, the speedometer stopped working, and the mileage on the odometer disappeared. After stopping the vehicle, turning the key to the off position, and restarting the vehicle, the problem goes away as the gauges on the dash begin working again and the truck shifts and has power as normally would be expected. I called my Ford dealership about this safety problem as well as Ford customer service and was told my vehicle is one month outside of an extended warranty program provided by Ford , Ford Satisfaction Program 19N01. I don't understand how this issue is not a safety recall as the issue causes the truck to totally lose power, and not dash lights or warnings are displayed to let the driver know there is a problem. If the lose of power and transmission miss-shifting occurs on a highway it could cause a deadly situation to take place. The problem has not been able to be reproduced repeatedly by myself and is not confirmed by an independent service center. The transmission and gauge issue is totally random and seems to go away after the vehicle is restarted with the key. I do have a video on my phone showing the speedometer not reading, the odometer going to dashes. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance reps or others. I feel like Ford needs to issue a 100% safety recall for this issue and not try to disguise the issue with an earlier recall which modified the vehicles software. People's lives are at danger with this transmission issue.

Electronic power Steering unit faulty. Steering wheel wont return to center when turning left, feels stiff and hard to control safely. problem was intermittent at first and is now permanent.
While in a parking lot I started the engine and put it in gear with my foot on the brake. After a moment or 2 the RPM came up and the tires were squealing. I then shifted to neutral and the RPM slowed. I then shifted to drive and drove to an exit. While waiting for a break in traffic with my foot on the brake the same thing happened. The RPM came up and the rear tires were trying to spin. I shifted to neutral until I could move, and shifted to drive and joined the traffic. There was no problems with speed control while driving in traffic.
I’ve been having problems with my truck since my purchase date June 29 of 2021! I own a 2011 Ford F150 super crew! My truck has been to the ford company at least 5 to 6 times. I have inform the service team that this is a business truck! I have bought a new battery because I was told I was having low voltage but with the new battery I am having the same issues! I have had actually weighed a problem her assembly problems I have had my brakes replaced in the rear I have had converter problems and I was also told that I should get a tuneup but didn’t need it! I have had some bad experience with my Ford F150 2011 super crew and all I ask is for a better experience! I’ve never had an accident in his truck! I never had a accident in this truck!!!! I have had so many problems with the truck!🥺
I have owned this truck a little over 2 years. Several times while starting out, the transmission will not shift out of first gear. I have to pull over somewhere, stop, and put the transmission in park, then proceed again. It operates normally after that. There is a recall that Ford has issued to repair that problem, but because my truck doesn’t show a certain “code” when checking the diagnostics, Ford will not put the truck under this recall. I have read other situations where you can be going 70 mph and the transmission suddenly shifts into first gear, locking the rear wheels, and causing accidents. This is a real problem that I worry about daily, as my son usually drives this vehicle. I don’t understand since Ford knows a problem exists, that they refuse to remedy this dangerous situation. Can you help on my behalf, please?
