MY F-150 SUPERCREW DEFROST DOES NOT WORK ON THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW NOR DOES THE ELECTRICAL DEFROST ON THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS WORK. I HAVE PUT FORTH SIGNIFICANT TIME AND EFFORT TO TRY AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM, EVEN SO FAR AS PURCHASING A NEW CLIMATE CONTROL PANEL. THE ONLY SOLUTION TO GET BOTH DEFROSTING (VISIBILITY) CAPABILITIES BACK IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW. THERE IS NO BYPASS, OR PARTIAL SOLUTIONS. THIS BECOMES A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN I HAVE NO REAR VISIBILITY WITH MIRRORS (INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR) DURING CERTAIN WEATHER CONDITIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND ACTIVATING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
STARTED VEHICLE, LEFT DRIVEWAY, TURNED ON REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, AND LESS THAN A MINUTE LATER WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 40MPH DOWN A CITY STREET, HEARD AN EXTREMELY LOUD POP. INITIALLY THOUGHT SOMETHING HIT THE TRUCK IT WAS SO LOUD. BUT THEN LOOKED IN THE REAR WINDOW AND REALIZED IT HAD SHATTERED. *TR
DURING MEDIUM TO HEAVY ACCELERATION, THE ENGINE STARTS SHUDDERING AND VIBRATING ..IF YOU LET OFF THE GAS, IT CALMS DOWN A LITTLE BUT STILL RUNS ROUGH UNTIL YOU COME TO A STOP. THEN AT IDLE, IT SEEMS TO CORRECT ITSELF. IF YOU CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE THROUGH THE VIBRATION, IT SHAKES AND SHUDDERS MORE VIOLENTLY AND DOESN'T QUIT UNTIL YOU COME TO A STOP. IT APPEARS FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB FOR THIS ISSUE BUT WILL ONLY COVER THE COST IF IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
IN WARM WEATHER THE TRUCK SUDDENLY SHAKES AND DOWNSHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR NO MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE GOING. THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING, A WRENCH IS DISPLAYED ON DASH SOMETIMES. THE SPEED AFTER DOING THIS DOES NOT EXCEED 20-25 MPH. IF WE CAN SAFELY GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND TURN TRUCK OFF AND RESTART IT EVERYTHING RESETS. THIS HAPPENS ATLEAST ONCE DAILY, SOMETIMES MORE THAN ONCE DAILY. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN TRUCK IS IN MOTION. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SPEED AS IT HAS HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND ON ONE OCCASION WHEN I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF STOPPING FOR A RED LIGHT. THE LAST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED TODAY, BUT IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE IT DOES HAPPEN LESS, MAYBE ONCE WEEKLY INSTEAD OF MULTIPLE TIMES DAILY WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARM OUTSIDE.
TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR AND WOULD NOT SHIFT THE GEARS RIGHT. WHILE ON I10 INTERSTATE!
WHILE BACKING UP OVER A SMALL SNOW PILE ON DRIVEWAY, LEFT PANE IN BACK WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO REASON. WAS GOING SLOW AND TURNING AT THE SAME TIME, TRYING TO BACK INTO GARAGE.
POWER STEERING RACK WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING BACK FROM VACATION/ DISNEY. FAMILY IN VEHICLE. LOSS OF STEERING/STEERING BECOME TIGHT AND HARD TO STEER. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 75 MPH.
TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS DOWN TO 1ST GEAR LOCKING REAR WHEELS AND CAUSING VEHICLE TO GO INTO A SKID AND LOSS OF CONTROL. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND WAS CAPTURED ON VIDEO AS TO HOW THE GAUGES RESPONDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.
WHEN I AN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO GO, THE WHOLE TRUCK VIBRATES AT RANDOM INTERVALS AND LASTS FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS AT INTERVALS EVERY 1 TO 2 MINUTES. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS AND IS GETTING WORSE EVERYDAY. LES SCHWAB CHECKED THE TIRES, BRAKES, ROTORS, AXLES, BEARING AND U-JOINTS AND EVERYTHING IS GOOD. IT FEELS ALMOST LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING ON A RUMBLE STRIP BUT MORE HARSH. THE SEVERITY OF THE VIBRATION IS WORSE WHILE DRIVING UP HILLS AND IT IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. *TR
UNDER ACELERATION IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IN DAMP WEATHER CONDITIONS, TRUCK ENGINE MISFIRED AND TOTALLY STALLED-OUT CAUSING MAJOR TRAFFIC JAM. HAS HAPPENED TWICE. ENGINE ACTED AS IF THERE WAS WATER IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. ... HAS MISFIRED SEVERAL TIMES IN DAMP OR WET HIGHWAY CONDITIONS.
ON DECEMBER 25TH EXITING HIGHWAY ENTERING GAS STATION AS I WAS LOOKING FOR A PARKING DRIVING AROUND GAS STATION WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE I NOTICE IT WAS NOT STOPPING AND THE BRAKE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I WAS ABLE TO CIRCLE GAS STATION PARKING LOT WHEN I HAD TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND STARTED APPLY THE BRAKE AGAIN AFTER 25 30 FEET IT CAME TO A STOP. TOWED THE TRUCK TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND WHEN THE TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE TRUCK IT DID NOT FAULT. RECEIVED THE TRUCK BACK DECEMBER 28TH AND DROVE ROUGHLY 70 MILES LATER WHEN THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 20 AND HAD TO REPEAT THE SAME PROCEDURE DURING THE GAS STATION BY PLACING TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND TURNING IGNITION OFF TOWED TRUCK TO NEW DEALERSHIP WONT RECEIVE THE DIAGNOSIS FOR BRAKE FAILURE TILL THE 2ND OF JANUARY 2017. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED AND THE REAR WINDOWS SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH, THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER SYSTEM FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT APPROXIMATELY THREE MINUTES LATER, THE WINDOW SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED UNTIL THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
DEALER IDENTIFIED FUSE #27 MELTED CAUSING STALLING AND POTENTIAL TO OVERHEAT CIRCUIT CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. NOT COVERED UNDER FORD CERTIFIED PRE OWNED WARRANTY FOR POWERTRAIN ETC. VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC AND FAILED TO RESTART UNTIL AFTER THIRD ATTEMPT..
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I EXPERIENCED SEVERE REDUCED ENGINE POWER DURING A HARD ACCELERATION FOR AN ATTEMPTED PASS. UPON COMPLETION OF A DIAGNOSTIC, I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDERS 1-3. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED US THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND RESULTS WERE HALLMARK FOR A KNOWN CONDITION RELATED TO MOISTURE ACCUMULATION IN THE CHARGE AIR COOLER (CAC) FOR TURBOCHARGERS IN 3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINES OF MY MODEL YEAR. THE VEHICLE HAD JUST OVER 54K MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT (TYPICAL MILEAGE FOR THE PROBLEM TO MANIFEST). THE VEHICLE WAS MAINTENANCED ONE WEEK AFTER THE INCIDENT AT THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT NEW FROM. THE DEALERSHIP CITED THE CAUSE OF THE MISFIRE AS BAD COIL PACKS - 4 OF THEM AT THE TIME OF ARRIVAL. COIL PACKS TYPICALLY HAVE A LIFESPAN OF 100-150K MILES BEFORE FAILURE. HOWEVER, 4 OF THEM WENT BAD (3 SIMULTANEOUSLY) IN A VEHICLE WITH <55K MILES ON IT. LITERATURE POSTED ABOUT OTHERS/SIMILAR SITUATIONS READ THE SAME - BAD COIL PACKS, DUE TO INGESTION OF WATER INTO THE TURBO. AN ISSUE FORD WAS AWARE WOULD HAPPEN WITHOUT THE DEFLECTOR PLATE DUE TO DESIGN FLAW! NO ALERT TO THE OWNERS THAT IT WAS A POTENTIAL CONCERN, BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A CHECK - NO WORD AT ALL! IF THERE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THEIR TURBO DESIGN LEADING TO COMPOUNDING PREMATURE FAILURE, WHY WOULDN'T THEY LET THE OWNERS KNOW? THE DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE HAD AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO INFORM ME OF THE ISSUE IF THAT WAS THEIR INTENTION AS I VISIT REGULARLY. THE CALL CENTER REP SAID THEY DON'T HAVE TO TELL US ANYTHING UNLESS THERE IS A RECALL. SO BASICALLY THEY MANUFACTURE DANGEROUS/PROBLEMATIC VEHICLES UNTIL NHTSA SLAPS THEIR HAND ABOUT IT!? I SURELY HOPE EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS ISSUE IS REPORTING IT TO NHTSA BUT I DOUBT THEY KNOW IT IS AN OPTION AND FORD IS PROFITING FROM HAVING ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AT THEIR DEALERSHIPS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTER INADVERTENTLY SHIFTED FROM HIGH TO FIRST GEARS. AS A RESULT, THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WHEELS LOCKED. THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLONINGER FORD OF MORGANTOWN (1001 JAMESTOWN RD, MORGANTON, NC 28655, (828) 584-4600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE NEEDED REPROGRAMMING. ALSO, THE MOLDED LEAF FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDSHIELD EXPLOSION AND SMALL FIRE WHEN REAR DEFROSTER WAS ENGAGED. VEHICLE WAS IDLE IN SCHOOL CARPOOL LINE WHEN WHITE SMOKE APPEARED TO BE FORMING NEAR REAR WINDOW. THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME STARTED BEEPING AND POINTING TO MY REAR WINDOW. SUDDENLY THE WINDOW EXPLODED WITH A SOUND LIKE A RIFLE REPORT AND THE GLASS SPIDERWEBBED ON THE WINDOW. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF ALL CLIMATE CONTROLS AND INSPECTED THE DAMAGE. THE TRIM WAS SMOLDERING FROM THE ELECTRICAL FIRE AND AFTER GETTING HOME I TOOK PHOTOS AND STARTED TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AS WELL AS CONTACT THE DEALER. THE DEALER SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THE REPAIRS WOULD LIKELY BE OUT OF POCKET OR VIA INSURANCE CLAIM. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS INVOLVING THIS ISSUE AND THE MALFUNCTIONING REAR DEFROSTER SYSTEM. THERE IS A TSB ON THE FAULTY SYSTEM. YET THERE IS NO EFFORT TAKEN BY FORD OR THE NTSB ON MITIGATING CONSUMER SAFETY RISK. GLAD MY KIDS HAD EXITED THE VEHICLE MINUTES PRIOR OR THEY MAY HAVE BEEN HIT WITH SMALL GLASS SHARDS. THIS ISSUE REMAINS TODAY AS A POTENTIAL HAZARD TO CONSUMER AND PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY. *TR
REAR GLASS ON FORD F150 SHATTERED APPROXIMATELY 2 SECONDS AFTER I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFOGGER WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED ON A STRAIGHT ROAD IN A RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISION. *TR
THIS IS NOT A DEFECTIVE GLASS OR FRAME ISSUE. THIS IS STRICTLY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE ON THE DEFROSTER. FROM WHAT I'VE LEARNED ABOUT IT, IT SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, NOT JUST FREAK COINCIDENCE. IF MORE PEOPLE LIVED IN COLDER CLIMATES THERE WOULD BE MORE COMPLAINTS. FRIDAY DEC. 16, 2016, AROUND 8 PM. I STARTED MY FORD F150 AND TRIED TO TURN REAR DEFOGGER ON. HIGH THAT DAY WAS 32, LOW 22. AT THAT TIME OF DAY I WOULD EXPECT IT WAS CLOSER TO 22 THAN 32. THE INDICATOR LIGHT LIGHT FOR THE DEFROSTER FLASHED ON, THEN WENT OUT. I TRIED AGAIN, THIS TIME IT STAYED ON FOR 15 OR 20 SECS. I BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND WHEN SHIFTER FROM REVERSE TO FORWARD I NOTICED INDICATOR LIGHT WAS OFF AGAIN. I DROVE 50 TO 100 YARDS WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. THE STREET IN MY SUBDIVISION ARE ASPHALT AND HAVE NO POTHOLES, IT WAS REPLACED LAST SUMMER. I THOUGHT I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING, AND REALIZED THE REAR WINDOW ON PASSENGER SIDE WAS SHATTERED. THE WINDOW WAS STILL IN FRAME, NO HOLES AND THERE WERE NO CHIPS. JUST A SHATTERED PIECE OF GLASS IN THE FRAME. NOTHING HIT THE WINDOW OR THERE WAS NO OTHER REASON THE WINDOW WOULD SHATTER, OTHER THAN THE REAR DEFROSTER HEATING THE WINDOW TO A POINT IT CRACKED. I TALKED WITH A SHOP ABOUT REPAIRING THE WINDOW, AND OWNER TOLD ME HIS SUPPLIER SAID THERE ARE ROUGHLY 500 OF THESE UNITS THAT GET REPLACED EVERY WEEK IN MICHIGAN ALONE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A FAR MORE WIDESPREAD PROBLEM BUT ONLY THOSE STATES THAT HAVE FREEZING TEMPS AND IT ONLY AFFECTS VEHICLES IN 2-3 MONTHS A YEAR.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH / 6TH GEAR. MY TRUCK SHIFTED ON IT'S OWN ( I COULD TELL BY THE DASHBOARD GEAR INDICATOR) INTO 1ST GEAR. THIS CAUSED MY REAR TIRES TO LOCK UP AND PUT MY VEHICLE INTO A SKID. *TR
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE AT 55MPH HEARD A LOUD BANG. SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION! THE SOUND STARTLED ME ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT, THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE WINDOW WAS ON FIRE. NOT REALIZING WHAT WAS HAPPENING I ATTEMPTED TO POUR WATER ON IT. IT CONTINUED TO BURN, THEN I QUICKLY TOOK A RAG FROM INSIDE THE TRUCK AND BEGAN TO TRY AN PUT OUT THE FIRE. BETWEEN THAT WATER ,RAG AND A SCREW DRIVER THE FIRE WAS FINALLY OUT. THE FIRE THAT WAS BURNING WAS VERY ODD IN NATURE NOTHING I HAD EVER SEEN BEFORE. I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED THE INCIDENT UP ONLINE AND SAW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED HUNDREDS OF TIMES FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS FULLY AWARE BUT WILL NOT COVER IT UNLESS ENTIRE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS TOTALLY A DANGER TO SOCIETY! THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN AWFUL ACCIDENT. *TR
WHEN STARTING MY 2012 F150 I TURN THE KEY AND THERE IS A DELAY AND THEN IT STARTS DON'T THINK THAT IS RIGHT I GET 15.6 MILES PER GAL ON MY 3.5 ECO-BOOST AND KICKING IN THE PASSING GEAR I LOOSE POWER AND ENG. LIGHT COMES ON 3 TIMES THIS HAS HAPPEN ALL TIMES I PULL OVER AND SHUT TRUCK OFF AND RESTART LIGHT GOES OUT.
DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, ACCELERATED FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND BETWEEN 30 AND 40MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER, COULD NOT ACCELERATE, CHECK WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, AND ALSO THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. PULLED OFF THE ROAD, RESTARTED AND EVERYTHING OK. SAW DEALER 2 DAYS LATER, THEY SAID I HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION BULK CONNECTOR AT A COST OF $650. VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 75,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
I HAVE A 2012 FORD F-150 FX4 WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON IT. THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED UNEXPECTEDLY. FORTUNATELY THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT MOVING, I HAPPENED TO BE OVER THIRTY MILES FROM HOME. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS ISSUE COULD POSSIBLY PRESENT ITSELF WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I AM IN DECENT SHAPE AND WAS ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED BY THE TIME I ARRIVED AT HOME. MY THOUGHTS WENT TO MY WIFE OPERATING THE TRUCK IN TRAFFIC, WITH MY CHILDREN IN IT, WHICH IN MY EYES POSES A VERY REAL SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE SEVERAL TIMES AND RECEIVED NOT HELP, OR POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS.
VEHICLE SHIFTS UNEXPECTEDLY. NO PARTICULAR CIRCUMSTANCE CAN BE IDENTIFIED THAT CAUSE IT. IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC, IN PARKING LOTS, CITY STREETS, WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS WARM AND WHEN IT IS COLD. CAUSES PEOPLE AND PROPERTY IN TRUCK TO BE THROWN AROUND. ALSO CAUSES A SUDDEN REDUCTION IN SPEED THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A REAR END ACCIDENT. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 100K MILES. FORD HAS TRIED TO FIX IT AND THEY CAN'T. THEIR IS A RECALL 16S19 FOR THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE ON THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR BUT FORD SAYS MY TRUCK IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. IT'S EITHER A PAPERWORK ISSUE AT FORD AS TO WHAT VEHICLES ARE EFFECTED OR AN UNDERESTIMATION OF HOW FAR REACHING THE ISSUE IS.
WHILE DRIVING I HEARD A LOUD POP FOLLOWED BY A STRONG SMELL INSIDE THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. EARLIER IN THE DAY I HAD USED THE REAR DEFROSTER AND WHEN I TRIED TO USE IT JUST BEFORE THIS LOUD POP, THE LIGHT ON THE DASH BUTTON WOULD NOT COME ON. I THEN DROVE TO ANOTHER LOCATION AND HEARD IT AGAIN, AND WHEN I EXITED THE TRUCK AND CIRCLED AROUND THE BACK, I SAW THE SHATTERED GLASS PANEL AND SMALL HOLE ON THE PASSENGER'S BACK WINDOW. I HAD USED THE DEFROST BUTTON THAT DAY. I HAVE SINCE CLEARED THE PANEL OF GLASS PIECES AND SECURED A TEMPORARY PANEL IN PLACE. THE SECOND TIME IT WAS ON A STATE HIGHWAY AND WE WENT FROM 45 TO 2 MPH WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND US. THE DEALER SAID THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF A BAD SENSOR. THIS IS APPARENTLY A KNOWN ISSUE ON 2015/2016 MODEL YEARS, BUT NOT ON 2012'S. THE DEALER SAID IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM AND FORD HAS RECALLED NEWER TRUCKS BECAUSE OF IT.
THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED FROM A DEALERSHIP WITH 95,000 MILES. AT 115,000 MILES THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED A RATTLING SOUND AT STARTUP AND WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC NOTED THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE TMING CHAIN AND FORD HAD ISSUED TSB 14-0194. HE ADVISED IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY A FORD DEALER.
