I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ON OUR WAY TO VACATION AND HAD PULLED OFF TO VISIT A FRIEND. WHEN WE WENT TO THE STORE MY ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WARNING CAME ON BUT THE VEHICLE STILL DROVE FINE. AFTER WE CAME OUT OF THE STORE THE POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. I'M LUCKY IT DIDN'T FAIL ON THE FREEWAY. IT ENDED UP BEING THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND COST 2K TO FIX(THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY). THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 50K MILES ON IT AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I CALLED FORD AND THEY WERE NO HELP. I AM JUST LUCKY IT DIDN'T HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY. I CHECKED THE FORUMS AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS AND CAUSED THEM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
ENGINE RATTLE UPON STARTUP, 3.5L ECO BOOST ENGINE. USUALLY ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS SAT FOR SOME TIME.
AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND PUTTING IT IN DRIVE, VEHICLE IS DRIVEN A FEW FEET ON CTY STREETS AND UPSHIFTS INTO FIFTH GEAR FROM FIRST GEAR, SKIPPING OTHER GEARS. VEHICLE THEN WILL NOT DOWN SHIFT, EVEN AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, VEHICLE WILL STILL REMAIN IN FIFTH GEAR. WHEN ON A HILL, THE VEHICLE HAS A VERY DIFFICULT TIME MOVING FROM A STOPPED POSITION WHEN IT'S IN FIFTH GEAR. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AND BACK ON, AS WELL AS PUT IN PARK AND BACK IN DRIVE MULTIPLE TIMES TO TRY TO TEMPORARILY FIX THE ISSUE SO THE CAR COULD BECOME MOBILE AGAIN. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALER WHO STATED THERE'S AN ISSUE WITH A SOLLONOID.
APRIL 27, 2016 RECALL 16S19-MY FORD IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE APRIL RECALL. MY TRUCK HAS (WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET) SHIFTED FROM 5TH & 6TH GEAR DOWN TO 1ST GEAR. MY TRUCK HAS ALSO STAYED IN 5TH GEAR EVEN THOUGH I WAS IN PARK. I BEGAN CALLING FORD IN APRIL TO REPORT THESE ISSUES, BUT MY VIN# IS NOT IN THE RECALL BUT I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND REPORTED IT. I WANT FORD TO INCLUDE MY VIN IN THE RECALL. OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE SOME TRUCKS OUTSIDE THE SPECIFIC DATES THE RECALL INCLUDES THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM.A DISTRICT CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE GAVE ME HER NUMBER TO CALL HER, BUT AFTER I REPORTED THE LAST TIME MY TRUCK INVOLUNTARILY SHIFTED, I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK. I TEND TO BELIEVE THEY ARE AWARE THERE ARE MORE TRUCKS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY ARE RELUCTANT TO TAKE ANY ACTION. HELP....
THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND BEGIN TO SHUDDER. COLD STARTS IT WILL SHUDDER AND RPM WILL BOUNCE FROM 400 TO 1100. WILL LOSE POWER IN TURNS AND WHILE STOPPED. DEALER HAS HAD THE VEHICLE 3 TIMES AND CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT JUNE 4, 2016 IN WHICH A CAR ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ME AT AN INTERSECTION AND THE RESULT WAS A MODERATE COLLISION. DUE TO THE COLLISION MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER (ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL) AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY.
2012 F-150 ECOBOOST WITH 55K MILES. SEVER LOSS OF POWER AND MISSING DURING IDLE AND ACCELERATION. THE ISSUE STARTED AT 15K MILES AND AFTER A LOT OF PUSHING, FORD INSTALLED THE DEFLECTOR SHIELD FOR WATER. THAT SOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR HEAVY RAIN, BUT THE MISSING, LACK OF POWER, AND POOR MILEAGE HAS PERSISTED AND IS GETTING WORSE. THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, STATIONARY IN DRIVE, AND WHILE UNDER POWER. IT IS REALLY BAD WHEN IT IS UNDER HEAVY POWER. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN IT COMES TO MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AND LOOSING POWER ALL OF THE SUDDEN. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN IT IS HOT AND/OR HOT AND HUMID OUT.
TSB 11-08-18. EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS TO MY VEHICLE. RANDOM. IN LONG SWEEPING LEFT TURNS WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS AT THE 11 OCLOCK POSITION BETWEEN 40-75 MPH. STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT RESET ITSELF BACK TO CENTER. I HAVE TO MANUALLY MOVE WHEEL BACK TO CENTER. MEANING, WHEN COMING OUT OF THE LEFTHAND TURN THE WHEEL WILL STAY AT THE 11OCLOCK POSITION UNTIL I MOVE IT BACK TO CENTER. NOT EVERY TIME BUT OFTEN. IF YOU DONT PAY ATTENTION 100% OF THE TIME THE TRUCK WILL STEER ITSELF INTO A WALL OR MEDIAN ONLY GOING LEFT.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 3 TIMES AND MY TRUCK DROPPED SPEED TO WHAT FORD CALLS "LIMP HOME MODE" WHICH IS ROUGH IDLE. WHEN THE TRUCK IS RESTARTED, IT RUNS FINE. THE FORD DEALERSHIP REPORTED THAT MY THROTTLE BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $388. THE TRUCK HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT AND OUT OF WARRANTY (NOT COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN). THEY ALSO THEN TOLD ME I SHOULD DO A FUSE RELOCATION BECAUSE ITS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE BUT ITS NOT A RECALL. THE TOTAL COST WOULD BE $750+ I GUESS I'LL ROLE THE DICE ON THE SECOND PART SINCE ITS NOT A TOTAL FAILURE YET.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE SPEEDWAY GAS STATION AN ABOUT 2 MILES FROM THE GAS STATION MY POWER STEERING FAILED COMPLETELY WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN,I HAD STEERING BUT NO POWER STEERING AN VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE OR MAKE ANY TURNS!I FINALLY MADE IT HOME BUT STILL HAVE TO DRIVE VEHICLE TO REPAIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS TO BE DONE.
FOR ABOUT A MONTH WE WOULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TRUCK WOULD "DOWN" SHIFT ALL BY ITS SELF AND STOP. WE WOULD HAVE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR IF WE COULD SAFELY GET OFF TO THE SIDE AND RESTART IT. AND THEN 5/21/16 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT DOWN THE ROAD AND LOTS "ALL POWER" THE LITTLE " WRENCH SYMBOL CAME PUT AND THE TRUCK JUST STOPPED, SHE WAS ABLE TO GET INTO A PARKING LOT. SHE WAITED ABOUT 15 MINUTES LIKE FORD HAD TOLD US AND NOTHING, TURN IT KEY ON AND OFF STILL NOTHING WAITED ANOTHER 15 MINUTES AND IT WORKED. SO SHE SET THERE AND LET THE TRUCK WARM UP AND SHE WENT TO PULL OUT AND AS SHE DID THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER AS SHE PULLED OUT AND THE TRUCK DIED AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. SO WE HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP (PIONEER FORD) AND THE OSS SENSOR HAD BROKE AND WAS CAUSING THE DOWN SHIFT AND LOSE SPEED. SO WE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET $450.00 PLUS TOWING FEES. AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE ALL BECAUSE OF THIS OSS CAUSING THE TRUCK TO LOSE SPEED OF 65-70 MILES PER HOUR ON A HIGHWAY. I CAN'T UPLOAD THE INVOICE ON MY IPAD, BUT I COULD FAX IF NEEDED.
WHILE MAKING A SHARP LEFT TURN AT SLOW SPEED I HEARD A SQUEAL AND GOT A (SERVICE ADVANCED TRACK WARNING). AND MY TURN SIGNALS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. LATER THAT DAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE STEERING QUIT ALL TOGETHER AND GOT A (ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAULT) ON THE DISPLAY CLUSTER. CANT BELIEVE THIS IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL ISUE!
BACK PASSENGER SIDE BACK GLASS JUST SHATTERED THIS AM. TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 60, RAINING, HUMID IN THE CABIN, WITH REAR DEFROSTER ON. AFTER PARKING THE TRUCK, I SHUT IT OFF, THEN HEARD A VERY LOUD POP, LIKE A ROCK HIT MY GLASS. I GOT OUT AND VIEWED THE GLASS FROM THE OUTSIDE, AND THERE APPEARED TO BE SMOKE COMING FROM THE MID-LINE, LOWEST POINT OF THE GLASS. THE FRAME WAS DRY IN ONLY THIS AREA, AND THE SHATTER WEBS OUT FROM THIS AREA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS PUSHED UNDER AN EIGHTEEN WHEELER. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE THAT CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE, SIDESWIPED ANOTHER VEHICLE, AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT WERE CALLED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY HELICOPTER WITH A SHATTERED JAW, A NECK BONE INJURY, CUTS AND BRUISES UNDER THE CHIN AND INSIDE THE CHEEK, AND INFLAMED LUNGS AND KIDNEY. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT AND WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
F150 2012 IN TRAFFIC ENGINE DIES GOES INTO THE LIMP HOME MODE WHICH IS UNDER 5 MPH ENGINE WILL RESTART BUT YOU HAVE TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP PUT IN PARK AND START AND YOUR GOOD TO GO UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND IT WILL. NOT AT ALL SAFE DOES IT ON THE FREEWAY OR CITY DRIVING NO WARNING JUST DIES.HAD TO DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS BEFORE IT WAS DISCOVERED IT WAS A BAD THROTTLE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE
WHILE AT A RED LIGHT ON HYW 59 WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IT SUDDENLY WENT SOFT AND DEPRESSED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. I PROCEEDED TO A TRUCK SERVICE SHOP WHERE A MECHANIC DID A QUICK LOOK AND FOUND NO LEAKS, I THEN MADE AN APT AT A FORD DEALER IN CANADA WHERE THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER HAD AN INTERNAL FAULT AND WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF 992.53 TO MYSELF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR AND THE WHEELS SEIZED. THE CONTACT SLOWED DOWN AND THE FAILURE SUBSIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO A RECALL FOR THE POWERTRAIN AND FORD RECALL NUMBER 16S19. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVALIABLE.....UPDATED 0711/16 *BF *CN
I HAVE A 2012 WITH 78000 MILES. I AM EXPERIENCING THE VERY COMMON TSB15-0131. A FEW MONTHS BACK I STARTED TO HEAR A RATTLE AT SOME ENGINE STARTS BUT NOW IT IS OCCURRING DAILY. I ONLY STARTED TO RESEARCH THE NOISE RECENTLY AND CAME ACROSS A LOT OF OTHERS ON THE WEB FORUMS. I DROPPED IT OFF AT A LOCAL DEALER. THE GUY MADE IT SOUND LIKE THIS IS SOMETHING NEW OR NEVER HEARD OF. LONG STORY SHORT, THEY HAD THE TRUCK 4 DAYS AND CLAIMED THEY HEARD NO RATTLE WHEN STARTING. AFTER GETTING MY TRUCK BACK FROM THE LOCAL DEALER I HAVE HEARD THE NOISE EVERY MORNING WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE. I VIDEO RECORD MY ENGINE AT START UP AND PLAN TO FROM NOW ON. I CALLED MY PURCHASING DEALER TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO. THEY WERE GOING TO CHECK AND LET ME KNOW. I HEARD BACK AND THEY SAY SINCE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY SAID I HAVE TO CONTACT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO GO FURTHER AND GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER. I CONTACTED THEM WHO SAID THE SAME THING..SORRY NO MORE WARRANTY. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS RIGHT. I UNDERSTAND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS JUST PAST BUT THIS SEEMS TO BE A PREVALENT ISSUE WITH THE 3.5 ECOBOOST ENGINES. I PAID OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO UPGRADE TO THIS ENGINE AFTER SEEING AND HEARING ADVERTISEMENTS ABOUT ITS BENEFITS AND DURABILITY. NOW, WHEN IT HAS A PROBLEM BY NO FAULT OF MINE, I AM TOLD THAT IT WILL NOT BE TAKEN CARE OF. THIS WAS MY FIRST FORD AND WILL BE MY LAST.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND CAUSED THE SPEED TO REDUCE TO LESS THAN 20 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES. THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,300.
AT FIRST THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING APPEARED AND THE DIRECTIONAL BLINKERS WOULD NOT WORK. STANDING STILL OR MOVING. HIT OK AND IT WOULD DISAPPEAR, BUT WOULD COME RIGHT BACK ON. NOW. IT APPEARS AND ALSO DRIVER ASSIST FAULT WARNING COMES ON AND YOU LOOSE YOUR POWER STEERING. EXTREME DIFFICULITY TURNING OR ANYTHING AT ANY SPEED.
FIRST OF ALL I HAVE A PICKUP WITH A RECONSTRUCTED TITLE. UPON ENTERING HIGHWAY AND STARTING TO ACCELERATE, I HAD TO STOP IMMEDIATELY FOR STOPPED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. MY PEDAL WAS REAL HARD AND IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE MY NORMAL PEDAL. I WASN'T SURE I WOULD STOP, BUT IT DID JUST IN TIME. IT IS THE HARDEST I HAVE EVER APPLIED A BRAKE PEDAL IN MY 44 PLUS YEARS DRIVING AND NOT ONE TIRE LOCKED UP OR ANY PULSATION ON PEDAL. FORD HAS SENT ME A LETTER WITH CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM "15N05". VACUUM PUMP FAILURE. WHICH APPLIES TO WHAT HAPPEN TO ME. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS A WARRANTY ISSUE THAT BRANDED TITLES ARE NOT COVERED, NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, WHICH WOULD COVER A BRANDED TITLE. HOW CAN BRAKES NOT BE SAFETY? FORD HAS CHANGED THIS BRAKE SYSTEM AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS. JUST BECAUSE IT ONLY INVOLVES A COUPLE OF YEARS, FORD SHOULD MAKE THIS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT EXTENDED WARRANTY TO KEEP THE NHTSA FROM FORCING THEIR HAND.
STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING, WHICH CONTROLS ALL STEERING WHEEL ELECTRONICS AND AIRBAG IS FAULTY. REPLACEMENT CLOCK SPRING REQUIRED. I NOTICED THIS ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AND USING MY RADIO CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. UPON PUSHING A BUTTON LIKE VOLUME UP FOR INSTANCE, THE RADIO STATION WOULD CHANGE. THE BUTTONS WERE DOING THE IMPROPER FUNCTIONS. I BROUGHT IT INTO FORD AND THEY STATED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING IS FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED SINCE IT CONTROLS THE AIRBAG, WHICH MAY BE AFFECTED BY THE FAULTY UNIT.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY WARNING LIGHT CAME ON A STAYED ON. THE ROADS WERE DRY AND THE VEHICLE SPEED WAS LESS THAN 55 MPH. WE DROVE APPROXIMATELY THREE MILES AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF. AFTER RE-STARTING, THE WARMING LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED.
I HAVE INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION WHILE IN MOTION. AT 60 MPH THE TRUCK TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR DOWN TO 4TH GEAR. ALSO AT A LOWER SPEED IT SHIFTED FROM 4TH GEAR DOWN TO 1ST GEAR. ALSO WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STAND STILL THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT FROM 1ST GEAR WHERE IT STARTS OUT UP TO 5TH GEAR AND I HAVE NO POWER TO PULL OUT ONTO HIGHWAY ETC. THIS OCCURRENCE HAS COME VERY CLOSE TO GETTING US HIT WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. THIS ABRUPT DOWNSHIFT IS A VERY HARD JERK AND I HAVE TO SHIFT INTO MANUAL TO OVERRIDE THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD REPEATEDLY THAT THEY CAN NOT GET IT TO FAIL. THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME WE DRIVE. WE HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO. AND ARE TOLD THAT THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE TO FIX IT YET. WE ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT THIS ONGOING PROBLEM IS GOING TO GET US KILLED OR SOMEONE ELSE KILLED. THIS IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE SO WE DON'T HAVE ANOTHER ONE WE CAN DRIVE UNTIL FORD COMES UP WITH THE SOFTWARE.
VEHICLE IS DISPLAYING "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" ERROR MESSAGE WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED SHARPLY LEFT OR RIGHT. WHEN THE ERROR MESSAGE COMES ON, THE TURN SIGNALS DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE DRIVER MUST HOLD THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH TO ACTIVATE TURN SIGNALS ANYTIME NEEDING TO CHANGE LANES OR TURN OFF ROADWAY. VEHICLE ERROR HAS BEEN CHECKED BY SERVICING DEALER AND AN UPDATE WAS PERFORMED TO ABS MODULE TO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT EXPLAINED THAT A POSSIBLE NEED TO REPLACE THE POWER RACK AND PINION TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID THAT THE POWER RACK AND PINION IS GOING TO FAIL AND CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, OR THE TURN SIGNALS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL TO FIX THIS FAILING PART IN THE 2012 F150 MODEL LINE.
WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE ON ITS OWN. I TOOK IT TO MY FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED BY THE CURRENT RECALL.
F-150 WITH ECOBOOST ENGINE FAILS WITH HARD ACCELERATION IN WET CONDITIONS. FORDS FIX IS TO INSTALL A NEW PART DUE TO A DESIGN DEFECT THAT ALLOWS WATER TO BE INGESTED RESULTING IN SPARK PLUG FAILURE. ON 4/17/2016 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ON HIGHWAY 57 THE ENGINE FAILED TO POWER UP AND "BOGGING" DOWN. THIS FORCED ME ON TO THE SHOULDER IN ORDER TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH A 18 WHEELER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A SQUEALING NOISE EMERGING FROM THE ENGINE. THE STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE DEALER INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN MODULE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
WHEN ON CRUISE CONTROL GOING 60-70 MPH, AND YOU PULL OUT TO PASS AND STEP ON THE GAS, THE ECOBOOST "HESITATES" AND WILL NOT GAIN SPEED, BUT LOOSE SPEED. I CAN ONLY STOP THIS BY DOWNSHIFTING, THEN REENGAGING THE GAS. THIS CAN BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS.
WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 20 MILES PER HOUR THE ENGINE WILL MAKE A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN TO FORD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY HAD NEVER BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM UNTIL TODAY. THEY TOLD ME THE REAR TRANSMISSION MOUNT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. MY LAST SERVICE VISIT THEY FOUND A PROBLEM WITH THE 4WD VACUUM SEALS THAT THEY ATTRIBUTED TO THIS ISSUE AND FIXED THAT PROBLEM. I THOUGHT WOULD RESOLVE MY ISSUES BUT IT DID NOT. I AM NOT CONFIDENT THAT FIXING THE REAR TRANSMISSION MOUNT IS GOING TO RESOLVE THE VEHICLE PROBLEMS. I RECENTLY HAD THE ISSUE FOUND IN #PE13018 RESOLVED BY THE DEALERSHIP.

I REMOTE STARTED MY F-150 SUPERCREW IN THE MORNING, IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 22 DEGREES F OUTSIDE. I DROVE TO THE CORNER STORE (0.1 MILES AWAY) TO GRAB A BITE TO EAT. I TURNED MY TRUCK OFF, WENT IN, THEN STARTED MY TRUCK BACK UP TO HEAD TO THE GAS STATION (0.2 MILES AWAY) & FUELED UP. I TURNED MY TRUCK BACK ON AND HIT THE REAR DEFROST BUTTON TO CLEAR SOME ICE ON THE REAR WINDOW. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 3-4 MINUTES (ROUGHLY 3 MILES), WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD "POP". I NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. IT WAS THE WINDOW PANE LOCATED BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE WINDOW AND WOULD'VE BEEN EXTREMELY UNLIKELY SINCE I WAS DRIVING. MUST BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE (A SHORT, A SURGE, OR SOMETHING). MY TRUCK IS OUT OF THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY WINDOW, BUT HAS JUST UNDER 22,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT PAY A PENNY TO REPLACE MY WINDOW. I CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER CARE LINE AND THEY STAND BEHIND THE DEALER DECISION TO NOT PAY ANYTHING FOR IT. THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLES. I'VE SEARCHED THIS SITE AND SEEN THE SAME PROBLEMS ON 2010 - 2015 MODELS OF THE F-150. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED WHAT-SO-EVER BY FORD. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I GET THIS WINDOW REPLACED AND USE THE DEFROSTER, ONLY TO HAVE MY NEW WINDOW SHATTER AS WELL? I GUESS I HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT ONE TOO. MY GRANDMOTHER AND GRANDFATHER WORKED FOR FORD. MY FAMILY HAS BEEN LONG TIME FORD CUSTOMERS. THIS IS MY THIRD FORD VEHICLE. THAT TREND HAS JUST ENDED. CONSIDERING A TRADE IN TO CHEVY OR DODGE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 7:15AM I WAS USING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER TO MELT THE ICE ON THE REAR WINDOW. IT WAS 24 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OUTSIDE. THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW PANE (3 PANED REAR WINDOW) SHATTERED. THE WINDOW THAT SHATTERED IS WHERE THE CONNECTIONS FOR THE REAR DEFROST ARE LOCATED. THERE WERE NO HOLES OR IMPACT POINTS ON THE WINDOW.
STARTED MY TRUCK AROUND 9 PM AND PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN REVERSE, HAD TO BACK DOWN A LONG STRAIGHT PARKING LOT, SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 15 MPH. CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO DRIVE AND PULLED OUT ONTO A MAIN ROAD, HIT THE MERGE TURN SIGNAL AND HEARD NOTHING. I DIDDNT THINK MUCH OF IT, THOUGHT I DIDDNT HIT THE TURN SIGNAL ARM HARD ENOUGH. TURNING ONTO MAIN ROAD AND HIT TURN SIGNAL AGAIN, NO SOUND. LOOKED AT DASHBOARD, EVERYTHING IS OFF, NO BACK LIGHTING AND NO GAUGE MOVEMENT/LIGHTS AT ALL. EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK BUT NOT REVERSE LIGHTS, TURN TRUCK ON AND OFF 3X WITH NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. 4TH TRY FINALLY REBOOTS THE COMPUTER AND HAS RUN FINE SINCE THEN
THE BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF A LEAK. I FILLED THE MASTER CYLINDER 2 TIMES WITHIN 2 MILES AND SAMETHING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY GET IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS THE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER. NO SIGNS OF LEAKS. IMMEDIATELY STOPPED FUNCTIONING.
STARTED UP TRUCK, WINDOWS WERE FOGGY SO TURNED ON FRONT AND REAR DEFROST. REAR DEFROST LIGHT CAME ON AND WENT OFF. PUSHED REAR DEFROST BUTTON AGAIN AND LIGHT WOULD NOT COME ON. PARKED THE TRUCK GOT OUT AND HEARD A LOUD POP. REAR WINDOW DRIVER SIDE COMPLETELY SHATTERED. THERE IS NO IMPACT AND BELIEVE THE REAR DEFROST IS DEFECTIVE AND SHORTED OUT CAUSING THE REAR WINDOW TO SHATTER. WAS NOT COVERED UNDER FORD EXTENDED WARRANTY AND DEALER WANTED $950 TO REPLACE.

REFILL CHECK VEHICLE FOR LEAKS NOTHING DRIVE 1/2 MILE CHECK FLUID DOWN HALF WAY TAKE TRUCK TO DEALER SAY,S MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO BOOSTER PUMP LUCKILY DRIVING EARLY MORNING NO TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ROAD QUICKLY COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTERS
WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE ON 10 MAR 2016, I MADE A LEFT TURN IN MY F150 WHICH RESULTED IN THE STEERING MAKING A SQUEALING NOISE AND PRECEDING TO LOCK UP. I WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE THE TRUCK HOME AND AM FEARFUL TO DRIVE IT ANYWERE.

THE CONTACT APPLIED THE REAR DEFROSTER AND THE REAR GLASS SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN SUGGESTING THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
FOR 8-12 MONTHS EVERY TIME I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT THE SYSTEM EMITTED A LOUD SQUEAK LIKE A PNEUMATIC P[INCH. I MENTIONED THIS AT MY LAST TWO OIL CHANGES WITH NO RESPONSE.. IT PROCEEDED TO GET WORSE MAKING THE SAME NOISE WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL FULLY EITHER DIRECTION AND BECAME STIFF TO TURN WHILE DRIVING.. I FINALLY SHOWED THE SERVICE AGENT THE ISSUE AND HE HAD NOT SEEN THIS BEFORE?? THE POWER STEERING ACTUALLY GAVE OUT RIGHT THERE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ENDED UP REPLACING THE "PS MODULE, GEAR ASY-STEERING, CORE AND FIXED A WATER PUMP LEAK THAT WAS UNDETECTABLE (NOTHING LEAKING AS FAR AS I COULD TELL). $4K REPAIR BILL AND THE TRUCK WAS AT 67K MILES. REDICULOUS

THE ELECTRONIC ASSISTED POWER STEERING PUMP IS GOING OUT ON MY TRUCK. IT GAVE ME NO WARNING LIGHTS OR SIGNS THAT IT WAS GOING TO FAIL. I WAS DRIVING INTO A CURVE AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP I WAS ABLE TO STILL CONTROL MY VEHICLE BUT IT WAS HARD TO TURN. IT HAS THEN STARTED MAKING NOISE AND WANTS TO LOCK UP WHEN I TURN. I BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO FORD AND THEY'RE USING A SCAPEGOAT NOT TO COVER IT UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND BLAMING IT ON A MODIFICATION TO THE VEHICLE.

ON START UP THE POWER BRAKES CAN FAIL TO WORK RESULTING IN EXTREME DIFFICULTY IN STOPPING THE TRUCK WHEN BACKING UP OUR OF THE DRIVEWAY OR A PARKING SPACE. THIS HAS RESULTED IN TWO NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS WITH PARKED CARS IN A PARKING GARAGE. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE LIMITED TO START-UP FOR NOW. IF YOU START THE ENGINE AND LET IT RUN FOR A FEW MINUTES, THE BRAKES APPEAR TO PRESSURIZE AND WORK FINE. IT HAS NOT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED. THERE IS NOT INDICATION OF ANY BRAKING ISSUE WITH THE ONBOARD DISPLAY.
