MY VEHICLE IS LEAKING FROM THE ROOF INSIDE MY TRUCK AND GETTING MY SEATS WET. IT'S OBVIOUSLY A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE I'VE SEEN OTHER 2013 FORD F-150 OWNERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME THING. I CALLED MY FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE AWARE THAT IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM STATING FORD USED INFERIOR PARTS ON THE TOP STRIPS THAT RUN ALONG THE TOP AND DOWN TO THE REAR WINDOW. THE DEALER SAID I'D HAVE TO PAY @ OVER $500 TO GET THIS PROBLEM REPAIRED WHERE THEY REMOVE THE ENTIRE BACK WINDOW AND PUT NEW STRIPPING ON TOP THAT USES NEW SCREW PACKAGE THAT DOESN'T BREAK DOWN AND ALLOW WATER TO ENTER. I SEE THAT A SIMILAR REPORT OF THIS PROBLEM WAS ENTERED ON THIS SITE IN 2013. IT JUST SO HAPPENS IT TOOK A LONGER TIME FOR MY PROBLEM TO OCCUR DUE TO HAVING MY VEHICLE BEING PARKED OUTSIDE MORE.
I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE SAFETY RECALL 19S07 ' 6R80 PERFORMED ON MY 2013 F150 SVT RAPTOR FOR THE SUDDEN DECELERATION ISSUES. THIS WEEK I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND THE TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR CAUSING MY TRUCKS REAR-END TO START COMING AROUND. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THAT SAW THE DOWNSHIFT CODES AND ATTEMPTED TO REAPPLY THE RECALL. NOW THEY TELL ME THOUGH THE ACTIONS AND NEAR ACCIDENT ARE INLINE WITH THE RECALL, THE CODE P0961 AND THEREFORE IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. THIS IS AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY ISSUE AND THE SAFETY RECALL 19S07 ' 6R80 RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO COVER THIS CODE. *TR
IN 2019 I TOOK MY FORD TRUCK INTO THE DEALER FOR 2 SEPARATE RECALLS RELATED TO THE DRIVETRAIN. IN 2020, I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH DRIVETRAIN ISSUES AFTER MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED AND I LOST DRIVETRAIN POWER. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON TO GET IT TO CROSSROADS FORD OF FUQUAY. THE SERVICE ADVISOR, [XXX] , INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE DAMAGES TO PARTS OF THE DRIVETRAIN, AND I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. WHEN I ASKED IF THE DAMAGES WERE A PRODUCT OF THE SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTING RECALL NOTICE, SHE SAID YES. I CONTACTED THE RECALL DEPARTMENT AND STARTED CASE # [XXX]- TO DOCUMENT THE ISSUE. THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE RECALL DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THAT FORD WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGES. I TRIED EXPLAINING THE TO THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THE DAMAGES SHOULD FALL UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE DOWNSHIFT ISSUES AFTER BRINGING IT INTO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP IN 2019. THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS AT THE PRESENT TIME OVER THE WARRANTY MILEAGE OF 150,000 MI., THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REPAIRS. I EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS ELIGIBLE WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR WARRANTY REPAIR IN 2019, BUT THE REPRESENTATIVE TURNED ME TO THE CROSSROADS FORD OF FUQUAY DEALERSHIP WHICH SOLD ME THE VEHICLE. THE REP SAID IT WOULD BE CONSIDERED "WORKMANSHIP" ISSUES. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP, THEY DROPPED MY BILL BY ~$300, BUT I STILL HAD TO PAY OVER $1500 FOR REPAIRS THAT RESULTED FROM THE DOWNSHIFTING. The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her friend was driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that her friend pulled the vehicle off the roadway, stopped, and placed the vehicle in park (P), turned the vehicle off and on. The contact stated that her friend was able to place the vehicle in drive(D), however when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle independently shifted out of drive(D) into neutral(N). The contact stated that her friend drove the vehicle to a local dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission molded leadframe needed to be replaced. The dealer advised the contact's friend that the vehicle was no longer under manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 19N01 - Transmission Molded Leadframe extended coverage (Power Train). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MILES AN HOUR ON STRAIGHT ROAD AT STEADY SPEED WITHOUT WARNING THE TRUCK BEGAN TO LURCH JUMP AND LOSE POWER, REGAIN POWER AND LOSE POWER. I NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS VERY ERRATIC AND I HAD A LIGHT FLASHING ON THE DASH AS WELL. THIS PATTERN REPEATED UNTIL I EVENTUALLY HAD TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE TRUCK. IT DROVE CORRECTLY THE REST OF THE WAY HOME AFTER THAT. *TR
VEHICLE STARTED NOSE DIVING AS I LIKE TO CALL IT FROM GOING 45 MILES PER HOUR TO A CLAW. SPEED CONTROLS QUIT WORKING AND TOOL LIGHT CAME ON. CODE READING: P0722, WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (OSS) AND I NEED TO CHECK INTO IT. *TR
SUNROOF FAILS TO CLOSE *DOESN'T ENGAGE IN TO FULLY SEAL/LOCKED POSITION. AND RE-OPENS. NO POSSIBLE WAY TO MANUALLY CLOSE WITHOUT REMOVING HEADLINER. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ONE RETURNING HOME AND ENGAGING CLOSE SWITCH TO SUNROOF. NOW SECURITY AND WEATHER TIGHTNESS IS COMPROMISED. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE GEAR DOWN SHIFTED FROM SIXTH GEAR DOWN TO THIRD, BACK UP A FEW GEARS THEN BACK DOWN, WITHOUT WARNING AND CAUSED CONSUMER TO LOSE CONTROL TEMPORARILY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER LLC CHAPMAN FORD LOCATED AT LLC 3951 COLUMBIA AVE, COLUMBIA, PA 17512 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRE HARNESS MELTED WHICH NEEDED REPLACEMENT ALONG WITH THE PCM. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER INFORMED THAT THERE MIGHT BE A POSSIBILITY THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE BEEN DAMAGED AS WELL BUT WONT BE DETERMINED UNTIL FURTHER USE OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,000. *DT*JB

WHILE DRIVING INTERSTATE, 65 MPH, TOWING TRAVEL TRAILER (6500 LBS). CLEAR WEATHER DAY, 72 DEGREES. BRAKE LIGHT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WHEN TRYING TO EXIT INTERSTATE TO INVESTIGATE ISSUE, EXPERIENCED COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE, BOTH FRONT AND REAR. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO USE TRAILER ELECTRONIC BRAKES TO STOP MY VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, I FOUND NO LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID. NO VISIBLE EXPLANATION FOR TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE.
UPON ACCELERATING TO PASS OR MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY THE ENGINE WILL LOSE POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FLASH. THIS LOSS OF POWER MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO SAFELY PASS OR MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY. I WAS RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES OF THIS HAPPENING TO ECOBOOST OWNERS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN DUBBED THE "ECOBOOST SHUDDER " I HAVE CALLED 4 DEALERSHIPS ASKING IF THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS PROBLEM OR REPAIRS. IT SEEMS THAT FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ARE COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF THIS PROBLEM HOWEVER IT IS WELL KNOWN TO ECOBOOST OWNERS. *TR
I TOOK MY 2013 F150 WITH AN OPEN RECALL TO FORD DEALER AND WAS RUNNING FINE BEFORE THEY REPROGRAM THE POWER CONTROL MODULE I STARTING HAVING PROBLEMS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING SPEEDOMETER GOING OF AIR BAG LIGHT ON AND ALSO A BIG WRENCH CAME OUT ON THE DISPLAY WHEN I STOP IT ONLY STAR DRIVE IN ON 3RD GEAR TO 5 GEAR THE OTHER GEARS DON'T WORK UNTIL I TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON BUT I STAR DRIVING AGAIN AND DOES IT AGAIN SAME THING
IN NOVEMBER 2019, MY VEHICLE STARTED SHIFTING INAPPROPRIATELY AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A RECALL ISSUE. THE RECALL WAS FOR A LEAD FRAME AND A REPROGRAMMING IN THE PCM. THIS REPAIR WAS DONE FOR THE TWO RECALL ISSUES. MY VEHICLE RECENTLY BEGAN DOING THE EXACT SAME THING, SHIFTING UP AND DOWN WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE MAIN ROAD IN MY TOWN. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY IN FORMED ME OF A DIFFERENT PCM REPROGRAMMING AVAILABLE FOR THAT RECALL. THE NEXT DAY THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS A DIFFERENT ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION AND IT WAS SENDING A DIFFERENT CODE WHICH IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING I WILL NEED A REPLACEMENT OR REBUILT TRANSMISSION, AND IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. *TR
FIRST INCIDENT, EXITING THE HIGHWAY, SLOWED DOWN, SUDDENLY HAD NO STEERING CONTROL OND THE DASH LIT UP WITH "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". I BARELY AVOIDED AN UPCOMING VEHICLE AS I ATTEMPTED TO MERGE AND AVOID HITTING A CONCRETE WALL. I MANAGED TO MANHANDLE THE TRUCK TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. STOPPED. TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. RESTARTED. PROBLEM GONE. SECOND INCIDENT: 4 DAYS LATER. TURNED INTO MY WORK PARKING LOT, WAS MANEUVERING AROUND SOME PARKED VEHICLES AND SUDDENLY SAME EXACT THING HAPPENS AND I ALMOST WRECKED AGAIN. I SHIFT THE ENGINE OFF AND THIS TIME WHEN I STARTED IT, IT SAYS SERVICE POWER STEERING SYSTEM NOW. I MANAGED TO PARK IT SOMEWHAT IN A SPOT AND IT IS STILL SITTING THERE AT WALMART (MY WORK) BEHIND THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM. I DID CONTACT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD IF I WANTED TO DRIVE IT IN AND PAY 108 DOLLARS THAT THEY WOULD HOOK IT UP AND DIAGNOSE IT, BUT I JUST CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THAT RIGHT NOW. I HAVE READ ONLINE ABOUT RECALLS WITH THE 2014 MODELS FOR THE SAME REASON. AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINES. SEEMS LIKE THE 2013 SHOULD BE AS WELL. I AM SERIOUS WHEN I SAY I WAS IN DANGER WHEN THIS OCCURRED. NO CONTROL OF STEERING. EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. *TR
ADVANCE TRACK SERVICE WARNING KEEPS POPPING UP, TURN SIGNAL WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU TURN CAR OFF AND BACK ON. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AS MANY FORDS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THEY SHOULD ALL BE FIXED AS FORD IS VERY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM I'M SURE. THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES, AT START UP OR WHILE DRIVING. NOT SURE HOW LONG ITS BEEN GOING ON, I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR AND IT WAS DOING IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO RETURN TO THE CENTER POSITION. THE STEERING FAILURE MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, ALONG WITH THE RACK AND PINION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. MATTHEWS FORD (175 EAST MAIN, NORWICH, NY 13815) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF A FUEL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO EL CAJON FORD (1595 E MAIN ST, EL CAJON, CA 92021) WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
LEAD FRAME WIRING HARNESS IN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, CAUSING NO SIGNAL TO SPEEDOMETER AND ERATIC SHIFTING OF TRANSMISSION. HAD TRUCK IN DEALERSHIP 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO LEAD FRAME FAILURE, WITH TRANSMISSION COMPLAINT AND THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE . THE MILEAGE WAS UNDER 150K AT THAT TIME OF THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT
HAD THE TRUCK PARKED OVERNIGHT IN THE GARAGE. STILL COLD OUT SO USED THE REMOTE START TO HEAT UP THE TRUCK. AS I WAS BACKING OUT, I NOTICED THE BACK WINDSHIELD BEHIND THE DRIVER WAS TOTALLY SHATTERED. NOTHING HIT THE WINDOW.
THIS IS FOR AN AFTERMARKET COIL PAK MANUFACTURE BY WELL VEHICLE ELECTRONICS, SPRINGFIELD MO. THE PAK SHORTED CAUGHT ON FIRE, AND DAMAGED BY TRUCK (F150) ECU COSTING ME OVER $1300.00 TO REPAIR. I HAVE SENT THE COIL PAK BACK TO THE MANUFACTURE BUT THEIR ANALYSIS WAS IT WAS DAMAGED BY THE IGNITION. THESE COIL PACKS ARE THE IGNITION, THE ONLY THING FROM THE TRUCK IS THE 12 VOLTS, THE THE PULSE TO FIRE IT. I'M FILLING THIS REPORT TO YOU AS I'M SEEKING DAMAGES TO THEIR DEFECTED COIL. THAT OVERHEATED, CAUSING THE COIL WIRE TO SHORT AND CATCH FIRE. I HAVE THE SPARKPLUG AND IT WAS CHECKED AND IT IS NOT SHORTED.
VEHICLE HAS OUTSTANDING SAFETY RECALL NHTSA# 19V075 (MANUF RECALL# 19S07). REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO SCHEDULE RECALL WITH LOCAL DEALERS FAILED. DEALERS EITHER DID NOT RESPOND OR SAYS THEY WILL "GET BACK WITH YOU". CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SENT EMAIL STATING THAT THEY WILL GET IT TAKEN CARED OF, THEN NOTHING. FOLLOW-UP EMAILS GO UNANSWERED. BEEN TRYING TO SCHEDULE THIS SINCE APRIL. PLEASE HELP.
THE POWER STEERING ON MY TRUCK INTERMITTENTLY FAILS AND COMES BACK CAUSING DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING AND NAVIGATING THE VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY TRUCK ALL OF A SUDDEN SHIFTED DOWN INTO 1ST GEAR AND BECAME STUCK. HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT OFF. STARTED DRIVING AGAIN AND IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING WITHIN 5 MINUTES. NO LIGHTS CAME ON OR ANYTHING. HAS DONE IT FOR 3 DAYS. I CAN DRIVE IN MANUAL MODE BUT IT STILL HAS TROUBLE WANTING TO SHIFT BUT AGAIN NO LIGHTS COMING ON.
MY BRAKES KEEP LOCKING UP WHILE DRIVING AND GETTING HOT I HAVE TO THROUGH WATER ON IT TO COOL THEM OFF THE KEEP DRIVING IT'S HAPPENED BEFORE BUT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. I HAVE A SMALL VIDEO OF THEM SMOKING IT WON'T ME UPLOAD IT DIDN'T THINK TO TAKE PICS IT GOT SO HOT IT WARPED THE RIM

THE CONTACT CALLED HERMANN FORD INC LOCATED AT (614 S. MARKET ST, HERMANN, MO 65041 (573) 486-3113) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE WAS 76,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A 6R80 TRANSMISSION AND BUILT BEFORE 4/8/2013 AND IS EXHIBITING ENGAGEMENT IN 5TH GEAR WHEN DRIVING. THE WRENCH INDICATOR AND/OR SEAT BELT MINDER ARE ILLUMINATED, THE SPEEDOMETER READS ZERO AND THE ODOMETER DISPLAYS DASHES WHILE DRIVING. SYMPTOMS ARE CLEARED AFTER AN IGNITION KEY CYCLE. DIAGNOSTICS TROUBLE CODES P0720 AND P0722 ARE STORED IN THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR THEN A HIGHER GEAR AND THEN SHIFTED BACK TO FIRST GEAR INDEPENDENTLY. THE GEAR ALSO SHIFTED TO FIFTH AND SIXTH GEAR THEN BACK TO FIRST. THE VEHICLE THEN SHIFTED TO FIFTH AND REMAINED IN FIFTH GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR WHILE SLOWING DOWN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTED CORRECTLY UP TO FOURTH GEAR AFTER WHICH THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS IN THE CORRECT SEQUENCE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AROUND 70MPH, THE TRUCK LOST COMPLETE POWER. ALL FUNCTIONALITY OF VEHICLE INCLUDING POWER STEERING AND HAZARD FLASHERS WERE INOPERABLE. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND ABLE TO GUIDE THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE SHOULDER. THE CAUSE APPEARED TO BE BCM CONNECTOR C2280G (WHICH SUPPLIES ALL POWER TO BCM) HAD UNSEATED ITSELF AND BECOME DISCONNECTED. AFTER RECONNECTING, THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY OPERABLE AGAIN. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURRED BUT ONLY THE FIRST TIME WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE FIRST OCCURANCE WAS IN JANUARY OF 2020. I HAVE A CAMPER SHELL ON MY PICK UP, SO THERE WAS NO IMPACT FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY ONE IN THE PICK UP AND NOBODY WAS IN THE CAB OF MY PICK UP TO CAUSE THE DAMAGE FROM THE INSIDE.
STOPPED RUNNING, DIED COMING OFF INTERSTATE AT 75 MPH. DAY BEFORE DIED AND WOULDN'T START JUST ROLLED AND ROLLED OVER. HOUR LATER, IT STARTED. HAD IT TOWED OFF INTERSTATE WOULD NOT START. STARTED ONCE AT DEALER. DEALER STATED THE FUSE 27 IS KNOWN TO MELT AND AFTER A WEEK IN THE SHOP IT IS FUSE 27 WHICH ALSO HAD TO BE REWIRED. IT IS ON WEBSITES THAT FUSE 27 DOES THIS ALL THE TIME.. SHUTTING OFF ON INTERSTATE IS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ESPECIALLY WHEN FORD KNOWS OF THIS DEFECT.

MY TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED FROM 5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR IN NOV 2018. THE TRANSMISSION THEN WOULD NO LONGER SHIFT DUE TO THE DAMAGE IT CAUSED. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT BY FORD. SOON AFTER THE REPAIRS FORD RELEASED A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AND THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL SERVICE. I ASKED ABOUT REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE PRIOR REPAIRS AND WAS TOLD YES IT WOULD BE COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS CAUSED BY THE RECALL. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO RANDOMLY SHIFT TO NEUTRAL OR SKIP GEARS. I TOOK IT BACK IN. THEY SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY THE REAR MAIN SEAL, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SHIFTING. THE TRANSMISSION HAS NEVER LEAKED. THE ISSUES CONTINUED ON UNTIL ON FEBRUARY 27TH THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED TO 1ST GEAR ON THE HIGHWAY (65 MPH) NEARLY CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND THROWING ME AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. I JUST CONTACTED FORD RECALL DEPARTMENT AND INQUIRED ABOUT FULL REIMBURSEMENT AND TO NOTIFY THEM THAT THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ME ANY $ AND IGNORED MY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTING LIKE THAT AGAIN. I AM NOW SITTING WITH A SORE BACK, $4,000 REPAIR COST AND A TRUCK THAT MAY PUT MY LIFE AND ANY PASSENGERS LIFE IN DANGER WHILE IN THE VEHICLE.

PAINT BUBBLED AROUND THE CENTRE HIGH MOUNT STOP LIGHT. SERVICE ADVISOR AT GALLOWAY FORD SAID IT WAS RUST AND A COMMON PROBLEM AND WOULD COST AROUND $1200.00 TO REPAIR. ALSO ADVISED THAT RUST IN THIS AREA IS PRONE TO REOCCUR. DEALER RECOMMENDED I CALL FORD CUSTOMER SUPPORT. FORD CUSTOMER SUPPORT SAID THAT THIS WAS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" AND REFUSED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE HAS 62K MILES ON IT AND IS WASHED AND WAXED ON A REGULAR BASIS. NOWHERE ELSE ON THE TRUCK ARE THERE SIGNS OF RUST. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COLLISION EXPERTS IN CAPE CORAL FLORIDA FOR REPAIR. COLLISION EXPERTS STATED THAT THIS WAS A MANUFACTURE PAINT DEFECT AND IS A COMMON PROBLEM AROUND THE HIGH MOUNT STOP LIGHTS. THE HIGH MOUNT STOP LIGHT WAS REMOVED, REAR WINDOW REMOVED, REAR SEATS REMOVED IN ORDER TO PROPERLY REPAIR THIS DEFECT. THIS WAS AN $800.00 REPAIR.
WHILE DRIVING POWER STEERING SHUT OFF AND GOT A WARNING ON INSTRUMENT PANEL STATING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. STOPPED VEHICLE TURNED OFF ENGINE, RESTARTED AND PROBLEM WENT AWAY. LATER IN DAY WHILE ON HIGHWAY SAME ISSUE OCCURRED CAUSING VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND CONTROL VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST AND NOT HYDRAULIC.

WHILE STOPPED, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, IN A PARKING LOT WAITING FOR TRAFFIC TO CLEAR SO I COULD ENTER THE STREET THERE WAS A RATHER LOUD POP SUCH AS A BLOON BURSTING. THE BRAKE PEDDLE BECAME EXTREMELY RIDGED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN MOVING FORWARD. IT NEARLY CAUSED ME TO CRASH INTO THE CARS AHEAD OF ME. I HAVE BEEN A VEHICLE SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOR NEAR 45 YEARS SO I WAS KEENLY AWARE OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDDLE WITH BOTH MY FEET AND MANAGED TO STOP IT. I CONTACTED THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T REPAIR MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF ITS MANUFACTURE DATE. I REMOVED THE DEFECTIVE PART AND IT WAS JUST AS THE RECALL ON THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER STATED. THE PROBLEM EFFECTS MORE 2013 VEHICLES THAN IS COVERED BY THE RECALL. I HAVE ATTACHED A PHOTO SHOWING THE BRAKE FLUID IN MY FAILED BRAKE BOOSTER AS PROOF.

WE OWN A FORD F-150 3.5 L ECOBOOST V-6 KING RANCH PICKUP TRUCK. TRUCK WAS PURCHASED IN 2014 NEW. HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS AS THE VEHICLE HAS SO MANY CURRENT ISSUES. FROM DAY ONE OF PURCHASE AND WHILE STILL IN THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT, UPON START UP THERE WAS A VERY LOUD CLATTERING SOUND. SALES REP SAID IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS COLD AND IT HAD BEEN SITTING. PURCHASED VEHICLE, HAD PROBLEMS IMMEDIATELY WITH DANGEROUS LAG IN ACCELERATION (WHICH WE STILL DO), AN AVERAGE OF 12 MPG IF WE WERE LUCKY AND VERY SERIOUS ENGINE MISFIRES WITH MAJOR DECREASE IN POWER ACCOMPANIED BY SPUTTERING WHOLE VEHICLE SHUDDERING WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ON THE HIGHWAY OR WITH HARD ACCELERATION. VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF IN THE FAST LANE, WHICH WE WERE. WE STARTED TO LIMP OVER SEVERAL LANES OF TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER AND THE TRUCK REGAINED POWER. MANY MISFIRES LIKE THIS, ALL EXPLAINED TO THE FORD SERVICE TECH AND VERIFIED ON THE TRUCKS COMPUTER. SO MANY IN FACT IT WAS NECESSARY TO REPLACE ALL SPARK PLUGS AT LESS THAN 57K MILES. WE JUST PICKED OUR TRUCK UP TODAY, FEB 18TH, 2020, AFTER IT WAS IN THE SHOP AGAIN, THIS TIME FOR 12 DAYS, TO FIX THIS MISFIRE PROBLEM AGAIN AND NUMEROUS OTHER ISSUES WITH THE FRONT HUBS STAYING LOCKED IN 4 WD WHILE IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE AND SWITCHING IN AND OUT, TIMING CHAIN REPLACED, AND THE ECOBOOST TURBO TUBES REPLACED AS THEY WERE CRACKED, IWE REPLACED, AND LEFT FRONT ACTUATOR. ALSO ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO IT HAD TRANSFER CASE MOTOR REPLACED AS WELL AS NUMEROUS SWITCHES, ALL WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. MY HUSBAND AND I DECIDED TO TAKE IT ON THE HIGHWAY TO SEE IF THE LAG MISFIRE PROBLEM WAS FIXED. WHEN HE HIT THE GAS THERE WAS A SCREECHY SOUND FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE, POWER SERIOUSLY DECREASED ONCE AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SIMILAR VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE VIN TOOL FAILED TO CONFIRM A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED LESS THAN A WEEK AGO. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT FOR ABOUT 75 MILES. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY STREET AT 45 MILES AN HOUR THE TRUCK DOWN SHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR AND SIMULTANEOUSLY THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. EVIDENTLY THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR ONE OF THE PAST RECALLS WHICH CLEARLY DESCRIBES THIS SAME EVENT AS AN ISSUE. I WILL CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP GREY DANIELS FORD IN BRANDON MS WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED FOR INSPECTION.
THE BATTERY WILL BE DRAINED OVERNIGHT RANDOMLY. FIRST TIME THE TRUCK WAS A YEAR OLD. DEALER REPLACED BATTERY. OVER A YEAR LATER, SAME THING. REPLACED BATTERY. I REPLACED BATTERY FOUR MONTHS BACK AND THE TRUCK HAS DISCHARGED THE BATTERY BY THE MORNING. COMPLETELY DEAD BATTERY. WILL CHARGE FINE AND DRIVE FINE. NO ALTERNATOR ISSUE. THE RADIO / COMPUTER SCREEN WILL DISPLAY "BATTERY SAVER" WHEN THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF FOR NO REASON.

SO, AAA TOWED THE TRUCK TO 15505 ROSCOE GALPIN SERVICE AT NORTH HILLS SO,THEY CAN CHECK THE PROBLEM. I TOLD THEM IT HAD TWO RECENTLY RECALLS AND THEY SAID IS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM . AND SAID IT'S GOING TO COST ME 1670 DLS. ALSO, THE DISPLAY SHOWED SERVICE ADVANCED TRAC . WHEN IT HAPPENED.
WHEN I WAS BACKING MY F150 OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY I HEARD A LOUD SQUEALING SOUND WHEN I TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL. THIS CAUSED A STABLE TRAC LIGHT, A HILL DECENT LIGHT, AND A POWER STEERING LIGHT. I CLICKED ON THE OK BUTTON TO CLEAR ALL THREE FAULTS ON THE DASH BECAUSE THE TRUCK SEAMED TO WORKING PROPERLY. AS I DROVE TO WORK A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BREAKS AND WHEN I WENT TO REACT THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND OR DEATH TO ME AND MY KIDS. THE POWER STEERING DID COME BACK AND WORKED FOR A FEW DAYS THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN A CAR TURNED IN FRONT OF ME AND WHEN I SWERVED TO MISS A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE TRUCK THE POWER STEERING FAILED YET AGAIN. I NOW HAVE ALL THREE FAULTS EVERY TIME I START THE TRUCK AND THE POWER STEERING IS COMPLETELY OUT NOW. THIS CONDITION IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF A YOUNGER PERSON OR SOMEONE THAT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO OR HAVE THE PHYSICAL STRENGTH TO MANUALLY TURN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT WITHOUT WARNING.

THEY EXPLAINED THAT THEY COULD GET ME INTO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 20 DAYS AT MINIMUM AND EVEN THEN THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP IT LONGER TO FIX IT IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG. I EXPLAINED THAT I ALMOST ROLLED THE VEHICLE AFTER SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL AND ASKED IF THEY COULD GET IT IN SOONER, THE ANSWER WAS CONTINUOUSLY NO FROM ALL OF THE DEALERS. I ASKED THEM IF I SHOULD STILL DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND THEY SAID IT SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM TO DO SO, I THEN STATED SO YOU WANT ME TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THIS HAPPENED AND POTENTIALLY GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY MYSELF AND OR SOMEONE ELSE OR PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE VEHICLES POWERTRAIN. THEY STILL SAID THAT IT SHOULD BE OK TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. WELL IT LOCKED UP AGAIN CAUSING ANOTHER SPIN OUT AND I ALMOST HIT A SCHOOL BUS. HOW IS THIS LEGAL? I EVEN CALLED FORD EXTENDED CARE FOR HELP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A RECALL AND EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PREMIUM CARE IT ONLY COVERS A 10 DAY RENTAL FOR THINGS OTHER THEN A RECALL AND TO CALL THE DEALERS BACK FOR FURTHER DETAILS. SO I CALLED THE DEALERS BACK AND THE DEALERS TOLD ME THERE RENTALS ARE ALL BOOK FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. A VEHICLE THAT ALMOST KILLED ME AND OTHER PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THIS MECHANICAL FLAW SHOULDN'T BE LEGAL TO SELL. AND HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GO TO WORK AND GET MY KIDS AROUND FOR THE NEXT MONTH, WHEN FORD WILL DO NOTHING TO HELP. HOW IS IT THAT THEY WOULD LET ME AND OTHERS DRIVE THESE VEHICLE AND IT NOT BE MANDATED THEY BE PICKED UP FROM PEOPLES HOMES AND FIXED. THIS IS CRIMINAL OF FORD AND IT WAS A GOING TO KILL SOMEONE.

THE WINDOW ITSELF DID NOT FALL OUT AND DIDN'T VISUALLY HAVE ANY MARKING SUGGESTING A FORCED ENTRY OR IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING SPOT ALL DAY WHILE AT WORK. THE TRUCK WAS ALSO BACK UP TO A WALL SO IT IS VERY UNLIKELY THAT ANYTHING COULD HAVE HIT IT. THE TRUCK WAS PARKED DIRECTLY UNDER A SECURITY CAMERA AND AFTER REVIEW OF THE FOOTAGE, NO EVIDENCE WAS FOUND AS TO WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED IT. THE WINDOW ITSELF IS STILL INTACT (AS SHOWN IN THE ATTACHED PICTURE) LIKE THE OUTSIDE LAYERS ARE HOLDING IT TOGETHER. THE WEATHER THAT DAY WAS VERY COLD IN THE MORNING AND GOT RELATIVELY WARM THROUGHOUT THE DAY. I NOTICED THE BROKEN WINDOW AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEN LEAVING WORK. THIS WINDOW IS BEING REPAIRED THIS COMING MONDAY FOR $699 + TAX SO I DO NOT HAVE ANY COPIES OF THE INVOICE YET. MY INSURANCE ALSO HAD A HIGHER DEDUCTIBLE THAN WHAT THIS IS GOING TO COST SO I CHOSE TO COVER IT OUT OF POCKET.
AT APPROXIMATELY 80,000 MILES, I BEGAN TO HEAR A CHIRPING OR AIR WHISTLING SOUND WHEN LIGHTLY TO MODERATELY ACCELERATING. I BEGAN TO INVESTIGATE THE NOISE USING THE INTERNET WHERE I LOCATED VIDEOS FROM OTHER F-150 ECOBOOST 3.5 ENGINE OWNERS WHO WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT SENARIO AS I WAS. THEY HAD FOUND THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE AND/OR PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WERE LEAKING EXHAUST. THE TELL TALE SIGN IS A DARKENING OF THE AREA AROUND THE REAR OF EACH MANIFOLD. THE MANIFOLDS WERE WARPING FROM EITHER A DESIGN FLAW OR MATERIAL FAILURE AT THE REAR AND ALSO BREAKING THE MOUNTING FASTENERS. I HAVE DETERMINED BOTH OF MY MANIFOLDS ARE LEAKING EXHAUST FROM THE NOISES COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE DRIVING. THIS MAY TRIGGER A SAFETY INSPECTION FAILURE IF FOUND DUE TO LEAKING EXHAUST AS WELL AS AN EMISSION TEST FAILURE IF REQUIRED BY THE STATE WHERE THE OWNER RESIDES. ALSO THE RELEASE OF CARBON MONOXIDE FORWARD OF THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT IS A CONCERN ESPECIALLY IF THE LEAKS INCREASE IN SIZE.
