THROTTLE BODY FAILED 12/4/17 LEADING TO ENGINE POWER LOSS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH WARNING DISPLAY APPEARED. COULD NOT ACCELERATE. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SHOULDER SAFELY. RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT IMMEDIATELY WENT TO LIMP MODE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP (APPLE FORD, SHAKOPEE MN). TB WAS REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER. ON 1/22/2020, THE VEHICLE AGAIN LOST POWER ON HIGHWAY AND WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. AGAIN, WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SHOULDER AND EXIT THE FREEWAY IN LIMP MODE AND GET TO NEARBY DEALERSHIP (WOLD MOTORS, JORDAN MN). DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY AGAIN FAILED, WAS REPLACED. TWO FAILURES WITH THE SAME PART IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME INDICATES A CLEAR DEFECT. VEHICLE LOSING POWER DUE TO THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE TO A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND RISK.
TL* THE CONTACT CALLED TO FILE A SAFETY COMPLAINT HOWEVER HE DOES NOT REMEMBER DETAILS AS HE BLACKED OUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, HE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A TURN ON A CURVE WAS ALL HE COULD RECALL OF THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT STATED PER THE POLICE REPORT THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CORNER POST AND A FENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT STATED PER THE POLICE REPORT THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS TO INDICATE THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL AS HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN) AFTER THE FAILURE AND HE BELIEVES THIS WAS A CAUSE OF THE VEHICLE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE GAUGES AND RPMS UNEXPECTEDLY WENT INTO A LOWER GEAR. THE STEERING WHEEL THEN CEASED AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE CONTROLLED, ALONG WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO OPERATE WHILE SHUTTERING AND THE LASTLY THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE SIDE AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY BUT THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS DID NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A IMPOUND LOT AFTER BEING TOTALED. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE CONTACTS SPOUSE WAS THE ONLY PERSON INJURED IN THE CRASH. THE HUSBAND SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY, NUMBNESS, TINGLING IN HIS LEGS, AND A CONCUSSION. THE SPOUSE WAS TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR HIS INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND I NEARLY HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO THE SHOP, I WAS TOLD THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD A LEAK AND WOULD NOT CONSISTENTLY HOLD PRESSURE SO IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND A RECALL BY FORD WITH RECALL ID 16S24 FOR THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND WHEN I WAS TOLD WHAT NEEDED REPLACED, IT WAS ALMOST WORD FOR WORD WHAT THIS RECALL STATED. I FOUND THIS INFORMATION AFTER I HAD ALREADY GOTTEN THE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED SO I CALLED FORD TO SPEAK WITH THEIR RECALL DEPARTMENT. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS ISSUE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER THE DATE OF WHAT WAS DEFINED IN THE RECALL. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT A TRUCK BUILT IN THE SAME YEAR THAT HAD MASTER CYLINDERS AFFECTED WOULD BE COVERED BY THE RECALL. THIS REPAIR COST $663.57. LOSING BRAKE PRESSURE COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR NEEDING TO COME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. A PICTURE OF THE REPAIR INVOICE IS ATTACHED BUT A BETTER COPY CAN BE PROVIDED UPON REQUEST.
THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE HAVING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST ON AND DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. NOTHING HIT THE WINDOW, NO BIG BUMPS OR IMPACTS.
BRAKES FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE.DIAGNOSED AS BAD MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER.
I keep seeing about the f-150/s being recalled for the rear view cameras not working but mine works and doesn’t works sometimes but keep being told that there is no recall but if you google any of the problems i have it is a reoccurring problem in other 2013 f-150s. Also problems with rear sliding heated back window the driverside shatters. The molded frame transmission needed repaired or replaced. Ecoboost leaking antifreeze behind passenger side front tire. The timing and phasers needing replaced. All are known common problems but ive been told are not recallable problems.
DEFROST BLOWER MOTOR NOT WORKING, CAN'T KEEP WINDOWS CLEAR FOR DRIVING SAFELY. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TAKES POWER AWAY FROM NON ESSENTIAL SYSTEMS AND REDIRECTS FOR CRITICAL SYSTEMS IF THE BATTERY IS LOW OR ALTERNATOR IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, BUT THERE IS NO INDICATION OF WHAT THE ISSUE MAY BE.
MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM 6 GEAR TO 1ST GEAR, AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH. I LOOKED ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHER 2013 FORD F150 OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM AND SAW THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON MY TRUCK (NHTSA RECALL #19V-075). ON 1/6/2020 I TOOK MY TRUCK TO TOMBALL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED I NEEDED THE REPAIRS LISTED IN RECALL 19V-075. THE SERVICE ADVISOR REACHED OUT TO FORD TO MAKE SURE THE REPAIRS WOULD BE COVERED FREE OF CHARGE. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT FORD DENIED MY CLAIM AND WOULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE TOWARD THE RECALL, DUE TO MY TRUCK HAVING 154,000 MILES. I WAS THEN CHARGED $1,328.31 TO HAVE THE REPAIRS PERFORMED BY TOMBALL FORD.
I HAD A BRAKE FAILURE ON 01/06/2020. I HAD IT TOWED TO A GARAGE AND THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER. IN THE SHORTLY AFTER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. BOTH TIMES IT ONLY OCCURRED AT LOW SPEEDS ON CITY STREETS. I CONTACTED A DEALERSHIP AFTER SEEING THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON MY YEAR OF TRUCK. THEY ADVISED MY TRUCK WASN'T COVERED. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. *TR
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
I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY ECO BOOST BECAUSE WHEN I START MY TRUCK I HAVE A LOUD RATTLING SOUND THEN MY TRUCK LOSES POWER AND SHAKES ALOT LIKE A COMPRESSION LEAK

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO ASSUME NORMAL DRIVING SOON AFTER THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO COURTESY FORD LINCOLN(3533 N VERMILION ST, DANVILLE, IL 61832) WHERE THEY REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER; HOWEVER, DESPITE THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED HIS FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:19V433000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
I TOOK MY TRUCK IN ALMOST A YEAR AGO IN MARCH TO HAVE RECALL ON TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT REPAIRED. JUST IN THE LAST MONTH I HAVE HAD TO BRING MY TRUCK IN 3 TIMES. TWICE MY TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED WHILE ON THE SH-130 TOLLWAY GOING 80MPH AND DOWN SHIFTING TO 40 MPH ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK OR BE STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AGAIN TODAY I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON HWY AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SAME EFFECT EXCEPT THIS TIME MY TRUCK REFUSED TO MOVE WITHOUT TURNING IT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THIS IS 3XS MY LIFE HAS BEEN IN JEOPARDY IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY INSISTED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT ISSUE WAS REPAIRED AND SUGGESTED A TUNE UP WAS BEST OPTION. HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS OUT AND AGAIN I'M IN SAME SITUATION I WAS. 3 X NEAR WRECKING OR DEATH AND ALL IN UNDER A MONTH. INITIAL DATE OF SERVICE 1/3/20 SERVICED AGAIN 1/21/20. NOW NEED SERVICE AGAIN. I HAVE KEPT UP WITH SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ON VEHICLE AND IT DOES NOT HAVE VERY MANY MILES ON IT.
THIS IS RELATED TO TSB 15-0137. ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE HAS NOT FAILED YET, MANY HAVE. MY FUSE #27 SHOWS SIGNS OF MELTING AND I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH A LARGER FUSE AND HEAVIER GAUGE WIRE AT A COST OF ABOUT $150 (INCLUDING LABOR). IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS TRUCK WITH HORSES IN TOW. ON SEVERAL FORUMS I HAVE READ THAT THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DUE TO FAILURE OF THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES, WHICH IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH A 120 POUND 20 YEAR OLD AT THE HELM WITH A HORSE TRAILER! THE TRUCK HAS JUST OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A KNOWN FORD DEFECT THAT CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE, AND FORD SHOULD BE PAYING THIS COST SO THAT THERE IS NO FINANCIAL IMPEDIMENT TO SAFE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN ITS PLANNED USEFUL LIFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY AND DOWNSHIFT TO AN EVENTUAL ROLLING STOP. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND PUMPED THE BRAKES PEDAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL EVENTUALLY STARTED TO LOOSEN UP AND THE BRAKES WORKED NORMALLY. BENNA FORD SUPERIOR (3022 TOWER AVE, SUPERIOR, WI 54880, (715) 394-8669) STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SAME DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT CHECKED WITH AN INDEDENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,600.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH A CAR PULL OVER INTO LANE IN FRONT OF ME? I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND THEY WERE AS HARD AS A ROCK, LUCKILY I STEERED TO THE AIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND DOWN SHIFTED TILL THE TRUCK CAME TO A ROLLING STOP, THE BRAKE AND THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT ARE ON AND THE BRAKES WERE STILL AS HARD AS A ROCK , I TRIED SHUTTING THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTING, AND STILL THE SAME RESULT, I PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE AFTER AWHILE AND KEPT MESSING WITH IT PUSHING AS HARD AS COULD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND I GOT A LITTLE BIT OF BRAKES , AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES THEY STARTED WORKING AGAIN, NOW I'M AFRAID WAITING WONDERING IF IT'S NOT GONNA WORK AGAIN, IT'S DANGEROUS, IT'S MY MAIN VEHICLE AND MOST OF MY FAMILY RANDOMLY USES IT. I'VE HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK.
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN IT UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFTED. MY MOMENTUM VIOLENTLY JERKED ME FORWARD, THE TIRES SQUEELED, AND THE RPM GAUGE WENT UP TO OVER 6,000. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THAT IT OCCASIONALLY WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. I WILL BE STARTING FROM A STOP AND I'LL BE GOING ABOUT 10-15MPH AND IF I DON'T LET OFF THE THROTTLE THE ENGINE WILL JUST REV UP PAST 4000 RPMS.
I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR THE RECALL THIS IS WHAT THEY DID: PERFORMED RECALL 19S07 PERFORMED PCM UPDATE LATER CALIBRATION AND CLEARED DTCS. THE TRUCK IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS TO TURN ON BEFORE THEY CAN DO ANYTHING. THE ENGINE LIGHT NEVER TURNS ON. WHEN THE TRUCK IS IN MOTION I WAS MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY AND I HIT THE ACCELERATOR TO SPEED UP IT DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST. SO DOES THE ENGINE LIGHT HAVE TO TURN ON BEFORE THEY CAN CHECK IT? WHEN IT HAPPENS I HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN OFF THE TRUCK WAIT A BIT AND RESTART AND IT SEEMS TO WORK FOR A WHILE.
PARKED CAR AND OPENED DOOR TO GET WHEN I HEARD A LOAD POP AND REALIZED THE BACK WINDOW SHATTERED. IT WAS PARKED IN A EMPTY PARKING LOT WITH NO POSSIBILITY OF EXTERNAL IMPACT
UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFTING INTO FIRST GEAR WHILE IN MOTION, SPEED OMETER AND MILEAGE GOES TO ZERO, RPMS STARTS TO RUN HIGH, AND THE TOOL LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD COMES ON, IN CITY STREETS AND ON HIGHWAY DRIVING. I HAVE TO STOP AND SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I START UP THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN DRIVE GEAR THE TRANSMISSION JERKS.
WRENCH (CHECK ENGINE) COMES ON FOR UNKNOWN REASON AND VEHICLE LOOSES ALL THROTTLE ABILITY! HAS COME ON 7 TIMES. HAS OCCURRED DRIVING AT 25 UP TO 65 MPH. TODAY I WAS IN THE FAST LANE WRENCH CAME ON AND SHUT DOWN THROTTLE. I MANAGED TO CROSS 3 LANES IN TRAFFIC. EACH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED I'VE STOPPED AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE RESTARTED & RUNS FINE. TAKEN TO FORD AS WELL AS PRIVATE MECHANICS BUT NO CODES SAVED. HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES. FORD TOLD ME THEY CANT FIX WITHOUT A CODE.
I REGULARLY HAVE MY TRUCK SERVICED . . TODAY MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH NO WARNING. IT SENT A MESSAGE TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK. IT WAS TOWED TO MY HOME. IT WILL NOT LET ME SHIFT TO DRIVE WITH AN UNCONTROLLABLE VIBRATION. IT DID ALMOST THE SAME THING WHEN IT WAS RECALLED. I HAVE ALWAYS PAUD MY PAYMENTS ON TIME ... HAD IT SERVUCED ACCORDINGLY. MT TRUCK HAS GIVEN ME MORE PROBLEMS THAN I DESERVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES. WHEN STARTING TO TAKE OFF IN LOW SPEEDS, 20-30 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP INTO NEUTRAL THEN INTO FIRST SLOWING THE TRUCK DOWN RAPIDLY. ALSO, WHILE TRAVELLING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON CRUISE CONTROL, THE VEHICLE WILL DROP TO 5TH GEAR AND THE SPEEDOMETER WILL DROP TO 0, THE ODOMETER AND ALL DISPLAY PANEL SHOWS NOTHING, THE CRUISE WILL NOT WORK, AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON.
ONE COLD MORNING I REMOTE STARTED MY VEHICLE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. AFTER LEAVING THE HOUSE I NOTICED THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW WITH SLIDER WAS SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE OR SOMETHING THAT MADE AN IMPACT. I HAVE ALSO READ MANY OTHER ACCOUNTS OF THIS ISSUE ON FORD FORUMS.
EXTREMELY HARD BRAKE PEDAL, VEHICLE WILL NOT STOP EASILY IN NORMAL BRAKING CONDITIONS, IF PEDAL IS PUMPED REPEATEDLY RED BRAKE LIGHT AND CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING APPEAR. IF KEY IS CYCLED ON THEN OFF WARNINGS GO AWAY BUT BRAKE PEDAL FEELS THE SAME. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH I FOUND VACUUM PUMP (NON ELECTRIC) LEAKING OIL. I REPLACED IT AND THE SAME ISSUES STILL HAPPEN. I'VE FOUND 2 RECALLS THAT DON'T APPLY TO MY TRUCK. ONE RECALL STATES THE MASTER CYLINDER SEAL IS LEAKING WHICH CAUSES THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GO TO THE TO FLOOR. THE OTHER IS A STIFF PEDAL BUT THAT ONE WAS FOR AN ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP ISSUE. PLEASE HELP BEFORE FORD KILLS ME. ALSO. EPAS (ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIT STERRING) SENSOR FAILED, ELECTRONIC STEERING FAILS AND ACTS IF THERE IS NO POWER STEERING CAUSING VERY DIIFFICULT MANUVERING. THS COULD EASILY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT OR FATALITY. SEVERAL ON-LINE COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT.
ON OCTOBER 11, 2019 @ APPROXIMATELY 4::15PM I PARKED MY VEHICLE AT A LOCAL STORE TO SHOP. I EXITED MY VEHICLE AND UPON ACTIVATING THE REMOTE DOOR LOCK, I HEARD A LOUD 'POP' THAT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING STRUCK MY VEHICLE. I PERFORMED A BRIEF INSPECTION OF THE EXTERIOR OF MY VEHICLE BUT FOUND NO EVIDENCE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY ANYTHING. UPON MY RETURN DRIVE HOME WHEN CHECKING MY REAR VIEW MIRROR, I THEN NOTICED THAT THE REAR GLASS WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS SHATTERED. UPON MY ARRIVAL AT MY HOME, I INSPECTED BOTH THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF THE BROKEN GLASS AND COULD NOT FIND ANY INDICATION THAT THE GLASS WAS IMPACTED BY A FOREIGN OBJECT NOR DID I FIND ANY POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE BREAKAGE.
I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD CRANK B UT NOT START. I FOUND THAT A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK IS THE FUEL PUMP FUSE. I LOCATED THIS FUSE AND FOUND THAT IT WAS IN FACT BLOWN, AND MELTED IN HALF. FORD HAS CREATED A REPAIR FOR THIS, BECAUSE IT IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED BY FORD FOR THE CUSTOMERS AT NO CHARGE.

VEHICLE GETS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR SOMETIMES AND WONT SHIFT, SEVERAL TIMES VEHICLE HAS SHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR ON ITS OWN,ALSO VEHICLE SHIFTS ERRATICALLY AND GETS STUCK IN THIRD GEAR, DASH QUITS SPEEDO, TACH, INFO CENTER ON DASH QUITS WORKING AS WELL AS ODOMETER. HAVE TO KEY OFF TO RE-SET. THIS HAS HAPPEN MOSTLY ON CITY STREETS AND OCCASIONALLY ON THE HIGHWAY.

THE POWER STEERING FAILURE WARNING MESSAGE WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED LOCAL DEALER (SMITH FORD LOCATED AT 908 E OAK ST, CONWAY, AR 72032) AND A TECHNICIAN WAS SENT TO THE RESIDENCE TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION AND SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
TRUCK BEING DRIVEN APX 55 MPH AND NO CHANGE FROM ME TRUCK HAS SUDDEN SLOWDOWN WITH SPEEDOMETER DROP TO 40S THEN RECOVERS AS TRUCK SPEEDS UP ON IT'S OWN. SAME DAY AS TRYING TO PARK, IN DRIVE, PRESSING ON GAS ENGINE REVS BUT DOES NOT MOVE. TODAY (7 DAYS LATER) ACCELERATING FROM STOP TRANSMISSION STICKS IN LOW GEAR. HAS HAD POWERTRAIN RECALL APPLIED.
I JUST HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME ON MY 2013 F150 . SAME SCENARIO AS EVERYONE ELSE. WINDOWS WERE FROSTED AND TURNED ON REAR DEFROSTER WHILE WARMING THE TRUCK UP. NOTICED WHILE DRIVING THAT THE REAR WINDOWS NEVER DEFROSTED AND THE LIGHT ON THE REAR DEFROST BUTTON WOULD NO LONGER LIGHT UP. AFTER THE WINDOWS THAWED FROM THE CAB HEAT, I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE THREE PIECE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED AND ONLY HELD TOGETHER BY THE WINDOW TINT.
DRIVING MY TRUCK IT DOWNSHIFTS TO LOW GIRL THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET IT OUT OF LOW GEAR IS PULL OVER STOP CUTTING ENGINE OFF AND STEAL SOME TIME AND DON'T COME OUT THEN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

WHILE DOING 50 MPH, SPEEDOMETER WENT TO '0', ALL DIGITAL DISPLAY ITEMS WENT TO '0' FRONT AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, AND A LARGE WRENCH LOOKING DISPLAY SHOWED. STAYED ON FOR A SHORT TIME. SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL ECONOMY DISPLAY DID NOT WORK FOR REST OF DRIVEN THEN RETURNED TO WORKING FOR NEXT DRIVING USE.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER ABOUT THE FAILURES AND WAS GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN INSPECTION. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 106,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC WHERE THE PISTON, ROTORS, BRAKE LINE, BRAKE PADS, AND BRAKE FLUID WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BIG COUNTRY FORD LINCOLN (500 W COMMERCE ST, BROWNWOOD, TX 76801, (325) 643-1651), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
LEFT SIDE OF POWER SLIDING REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING. NO OTHER VISIBLE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE, AND NO IMPACT POINT APPARENT ON GLASS. CO-WORKER WITH 2014 F150 WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT ON THE SAME DAY AND EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED
FUSE #27 BURNT UP AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BECAUSE THAT FUSE CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. THIS ISSUE WAS ADDRESSED IN TSB 15-0137. INCREDIBLE TO BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING THIS SIMPLE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR DRIVER SAFETY. VEHICLE LUCKILY WAS NOT IN MOTION WHEN IT HAPPENED. THIS MOST LIKELY WOULD NOT BE AN ITEM LOCATED IN A VIHICLE INCIDENT....SO THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY DEATHS THIS HAS CAUSED.
THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER KEEPS GOING OUT. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THE UNIT HAS FAILED ON A 2013 TRUCK. THE UNIT ALSO CONTROLS THE HEATED MIRRORS. THE FIX IS TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE REAR WINDOW WITH THE DEFROST UNIT.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000. *DT THE CONSUMER STATED THAT SHE USED AUTO DEFROST TO WARM UP THE CAR PRIOR TO DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 31 DEGREES THAT MORNING. THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED. *DL
2013 FORD F-150 PLATINUM TRUCK. I GOT IN MY TRUCK AND PULLED OUT OF A PARKING LOT. I WAS ABOUT TO TURN AND GET ON THE INTERSTATE. A CAR WAS IN FRONT OF ME AND WHEN I MASHED THE BRAKES THE PETAL WAS STIFF. THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. IT SEEMED. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE RODE BEFORE STRIKING THE REAR OF THE CAR AND COME TO A STOP. I THEN PROCEEDED SLOWLY TO AN EMPTY PARKING LOT. I GOT OUT AND WALKED AROUND THE VEHICLE AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD. NO LEAKS THAT I COULD SEE AND THE BRAKE RESERVOIR WAS FULL. I DROVE AROUND THE PARKING LOT AND MASHED THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIME AND THEN IT WENT BACK TO WORKING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I SEE A RECALL BUT IT IS NOT FOR MY VIN. WHY? THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD SO WHY IS FORD NOT TAKING THIS SERIOUS. I HAVE BEEN IN THE FIRE SERVICE FOR 31 YEARS AND HAVE SEEN THE OUTCOME OF BRAKE FAILURE. THIS IS NOT GOOD.
VIOLENT DOWNSHIFT FROM 6TH TO 1ST AT HIGH SPEEDS 60+MPH , SEMI-VIOLENT DOWN-SHIFT FROM 4TH TO 1ST AND MID 25-45PMG, TRANSMISSION REMAINING IN 3RD GEAR INDEPENDENT OF SPEEDS. THIS IS ALL AFTER HAVING COMPLETED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE FIXED THE ISSUE. AN IMPORTANT NOTE IS THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT HAVING THIS ISSUE UNTIL THEY DID THE SOFTWARE UPDATE TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING.
UPON EXCELLARATION AND WHILE CRUISING AT HIGHER SPEED'S MY VEHICLE WILL DOWN SHIFT AUTOMATICALLY FROM 6TH GEAR TO THIRD GEAR CAUSING MY REAR WHEELS TO LOCK. I RECEIVE A WRENCH SIGN ON THE DISPLAY THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING, THE DRIVERS AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE STAYS IN THIS GEAR UNTIL I STOP AND TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON. ALSO AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT ON IT'S OWN WHILE DRIVING A CONSTANT SPEED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 4TH GEAR, TO 5TH GEAR AND BACK TO 6TH ALL WHILE DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED.
POWER STEERING IS STARTING TO FAIL. THE SYMPTOMS ARE DIFFICULTY IN TURNING, WHEELS NOT RETURNING TO CENTER AFTER A TURN, COMPLETE POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT THE EPAS SYSTEM IS MARRIED TO THE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY SO THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED INSTEAD OF JUST THE EPAS. ABOUT A $2000 REPAIR. I UNDERSTAND PARTS BREAK BUT BUT HAVING TO REPLACE A MAJOR PART OF THE STEERING PACKAGE IS VERY POOR DESIGN.
