MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND SUDDENLY OUR 2013 FORD F150 STARTS CLUNKING NOISE AND HARD JERKING MAKING THE NOSE OF THE TRUCK WILL PULL DOWN REALLY HARD WHEN IT DOES THIS. WE ARE DRIVING 65MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED ALMOST CAUSING US TO CRASH. SUDDENLY AFTER THIS OCCURED THE FORD F150 STARTS ACTING LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING WITH ONLY 64,000 MILES ON IT . TEMPURATURE STARTED GOING UP SO WE PULLED OVER AND CALLED A FRIEND TO COME TOW US HOME. WE GOT HOME AND THE TRUCK WONT REVERSE OFF THE TRAILOR. WE FINALLY GET IT OFF THE TRAILOR AND TAKE IT TO THE FORD BUISNESS IN MY TOWN ON THE WAY THERE IT ACTS LIKE ITS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR. WE GET IT BACK FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL UHS THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS STUCK IN REVERSE. THAT WHEN THEY START FHE TRUCK IT WANTS TO TAKE OFF LIKE ITS STUCK IN GEAR EVEN IN REVERSE AND THEN TELL US THAT WE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION THAT WAS RECENTLY PUT IN MIND YOU IT RAN FINE BEFORE THE LOUD NOISE AND SUDDEN CHANGING OF GEARS AT 65 MPH.. SO WHY SHOULDNT FORD HAVE TO FIX IT.
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE AT 35-40 MPH ABRUPTLY DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR. RPM'S WENT VERY HIGH, I QUICKLY SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH FOR THE TRUCK TO SHIFT TO SECOND GEAR. THIS HAPPENED A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR THE 19S19 SAFETY RECALL TO GREEN FORD IN GREENSBORO NC. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS DOWNSHIFT HAPPENED.
MY 2013 F-150 WILL SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT WHILE I AM DOING 25-35 MPH. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT UPSHIFT FROM 1ST GEAR. IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL SECONDS OR SEVERAL MINUTES FOR IT TO SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. WHEN IT DOES UPSHIFT AGAIN IT WILL SLAM INTO THE HIGHER GEAR. SOMETIMES THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING, THE AIRBAG ICON COMES ON, THE ENGINE ICON COMES ON, A WRENCH ICON COMES ON, SOMETIMES THE DISPLAY IS A SERIES OF DASHES AND SOMETIMES THE DISPLAY IS BLANK. IF I STOP AND RESTART THE ENGINE SOMETIMES THE SYMPTOMS GO AWAY AND SOMETIMES THE ICONS REMAIN VISIBLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A DOWN HILL DRIVEWAY, IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, BUT THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT APPLIED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE FORCEFULLY. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO EXCEED 50 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUING TO DRIVE WITH NO FAILURE. THE CONTACT OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS COVERED IN OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROD BAKER FORD SALES INC. (LOCATED AT 16101 S LINCOLN HWY, PLAINFIELD, IL 60586, (815) 436-5681), BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,219.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DOWNSHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR, AND THE WHEEL STARTED TO SLIDE. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO VEER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (MIKE FERRELL FORD LINCOLN, INC.1705 W 3RD AVE, WILLIAMSON, WV 25661) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRE HARNESS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V433000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE, IT FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LITHIA SPRINGS FORD (870 THORNTON RD, LITHIA SPRINGS, GA 30122, (770) 941-9000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,100.
THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON RANDOMLY WHEN THE TRUCK IS SITTING WITH NO KEY IN IT. THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. THE HEAT ONLY WORKS ON LOW AND HIGH WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ON ANY OTHER SETTING. THE STEERING BECOMES TWITCHY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
MY TRUCK HAS A 5.0 MOTOR BUT IS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME THING AS THIS RECALL THAT ONLY AFFECTS TRUCKS WITH A 3.5 MOTOR. I HAVE TO REFILL THE RESERVOIR ABOUT ONCE A MONTH WHETHER I AM DRIVING IT OR NOT. THE MASTER CYLINDER REAR CUP SEAL MAY ROLL, RESULTING IN BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE FROM THE PRIMARY RESERVOIR INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE EXITING A PARKING LOT AT 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED TO THE LEFT. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE JUMPED THE CURB, DROVE ON TOP OF A PYLON, AND ALMOST TURNED COMPLETELY OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE DEALER QUOTED THE REPAIR COST RANGING FROM $2,500 TO $3,000. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
2013 FORD F150 RAPTOR. BEEN READING ABOUT SEVERAL 2011 TO 2016 ABOUT THE REAR BACK GLASS DEFROST NOT WORKING DUE TO BACD CONTACTS ON THE WINDOW OR EVEN SHADERS FOR NO REASON. I THINK FORD SHOULD REPLACE THIS IF IT FAILS. WITH THE BACK DEFROST NOT WORKING ALSO MAKES THE SIDE HEATED MIRRORS NOT WORK DUE TO THEN BEING ON THE SAME CIRCUIT.
WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING SEIZED UP MAKING THE VEHICLE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS: "SERVICE ADVANCED TRACK, POWER STEERING, HILL DESCENT ASSIST". DEALER REPORTS THAT EPAS SYSTEM HAS GONE BAD/FAILED. I'VE READ NUMEROUS REPORTS ON THE STEERING/ELECTRIC ISSUE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THIS TRUCK IS IN IMMACULATE SHAPE AND HAS 67,000 MILES ON IT. STEERING SHOULD NOT BE FAILING. PLEASE GET A RECALL GOING ON THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES I ALSO HAD A WHEEL STUD/BOLT SHEER OFF TWO WEEKS BACK.
AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT WITH SUDDEN DOWN SHIFTING OF MY TRANSMISSION, I TOOK MY TRUCK IN TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. I WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW PROGRAMMING FIX WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE ACTIVE RECALL. THE "FIX" WAS COMPLETED, AND NOW ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO DOWNSHIFT SUDDENLY. NOT ONLY SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTING, BUT DURING ACCELERATION THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO STRUGGLE SHIFTING OUT OF FIRST GEAR. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS ABOUT 57K MILES.
I HAVE A F150 4-WHEEL ECO BOOST V6. I RECENTLY HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND AT THAT TIME DECIDED TO HAVE THE RECALL DONE FOR THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE NEXT FEW DAYS I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SOME HESITATION WITH THE GEARS SHIFTING AND THE TRANSMISSION AT TIMES WOULD DROP. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO BRING MY TRUCK BACK IN AT THAT TIME THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT AN OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. SOME DAYS LATER I WAS DRIVING ON THE FEEDER ROAD GETTING READY TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY. AS SOON AS I ENTERED MY SPEEDOMETER STOP WORKING AND THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED INTO 1ST GEAR. THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND ME THAT ALMOST COLLIDED WITH MY TRUCK. MY FAMILY WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE NEXT DAY I BROUGHT MY TRUCK BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID A QUICK DIAGNOSIS. THEY STATED THAT I HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND THAT I NEEDED TO LOOK INTO GETTING ANOTHER VEHICLE THROUGH THEM AND TRADING MY TRUCK OUT. I WAS UPSET BY THE RESPONSE SO I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE THEY THOROUGHLY INSPECTED THE TRUCK. THE FINDINGS WERE THAT THE OSS SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND IT PULL UP A P0270 CODE. THE SHOP ADVISED ME THAT THIS WAS A WARRANTY AND SAFETY ISSUE AND THAT I IMMEDIATELY TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. WHEN I RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY AT THAT TIME ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT WAS A WARRANTY ISSUE AND COULD BE FIX, BUT THEY COULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT FOR 2-WEEKS AND WOULD NOT EVEN PROVIDE A LOANER AFTER STATING MY SAFETY CONCERNS. I THEN CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY COULD NOT ASSIST UNTIL THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT MY TRUCK. I DID STATE TO THEM THE TIME ISSUE AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT WAS TOLD THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHAT THEY DO. I'M STUCK WITH DRIVING A UNSAFE VEHICLE FOR AN ISSUE OUTSIDE OF MY CONTROL AND NO ONE AT FORD IS TAKING THE MATTER SERIOUSLY. THIS COULD CAUSE A FATAL OR SEVERE INJURY.
STARTED VEHICLE WITH REMOTE STARTER. REAR GLASS BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT SHATTERED. REAR GLASS ASSEMBLY HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON FAILURE IN F150'S BUILT FROM 2010 TO 2014.
MY 2013 F150S ENGINE STARTED MISSING OUT OF NO WHERE AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLICKERING, AND THEN WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AS I WAS TRYING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY. IT ALMOST SHUT OFF. MADE IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE SAYING IT'S THE COIL PACKS, I HAD THE SAME ISSUE BUT NOT THIS BAD WITH MY 2008 F 150 WHICH THEY ENDED UP DOING A RECALL ON FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I THINK SOMETHING NEEDS CHANGED AS THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE IN THESE TRUCKS AND THE FIX ISN'T CHEAP OR COVERED UNDER WARRANTY! AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. ALSO I WASN'T HAVING ANY ISSUES WITH MY TRUCK TILL I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL THEY HAD ON THE ACCELERATOR ISSUE, WHICH WAS ONLY FIXED 3 WEEKS AGO.
WAS DRIVING 2013 FORD F150 FX4 WITH ECOBOOST ENGINE ABOUT 60 MILES PER HOUR WHEN TRUCK SUDDENLY SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR AND CAUSED TRUCK TO REV RPM'S AND RAPIDLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY TO DECREASE SPEED DUE TO SHIFTING TO FIRST GEAR ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT ON A CITY STREET. AFTER THE SPEED DECREASE, UNABLE TO GET CAR INTO HIGHER GEAR AND DROVE AT VERY LOW SPEEDS TO EXIT ROAD. TURNED CAR OFF AND ON AND IT NOT HELP. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES, CAR WAS ABLE TO DRIVE BUT EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE SEVERAL MORE TIMES DRIVING TO MECHANIC. ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE THE DAY BEFORE, BUT DID NOT REALIZE THE TRUCK WAS SHIFTING INTO 1ST GEAR. TOOK TRUCK TO MECHANIC AND RAN DIAGNOSTICS FOR $100 FEE AND WAS TOLD ME TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP FOR A KNOWN ISSUE. AT THE DEALERSHIP, A "FIX" WAS IMPLEMENTED, BUT THE FIX CAUSED ANOTHER ISSUE AND WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING STARTED, THE WHOLE DASH VIBRATES AND MAKE LOUD NOISES. DEALERSHIP STILL HAS TRUCK TRYING TO FIGURE OUT ISSUE OF LOUD NOISE WHEN TURNING ON AC. DID NOT HAVE ISSUE WITH VIBRATING UNTIL THE "FIX" WAS ISSUED. NOR DID THE MECHANIC NOTICE THE ISSUE WITH THE AC WHEN IT WAS TAKEN IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC BEFORE TAKING TO DEALERSHIP.
AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IN THE EPAS UNIT HAS RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN MY 2013 FORD F-150. VEHICLE HAS 63,000 MILES AND HAS NO ACCIDENTS AND HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECT TO ABNORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE PROBLEM PRESENTED ITSELF WHEN THE WEATHER BECAME COLD DURING THE FALL OF 2019. WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES DROPPED BELOW 65 DEGREES AND I STARTED MY VEHICLE I RECEIVED A "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" WARNING AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. TESTING OVER A 4 WEEK PERIOD AS THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATED BETWEEN 40-80 DEGREES ALLOWED ME TO SEE THE CONNECTION TO THE POWER STEERING FAILURE AND THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS CLOSE TO, BUT DID NOT EXCEED 65 DEGREES. I COULD START MY VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT AROUND, THE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE WOULD WARM THE UNIT ENOUGH TO ALLOW IT TO WORK. ALL I NEEDED TO DO WAS TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD WORK. AFTER READING ABOUT ALL THE RECALLS FORD HAS ISSUED RELATED TO THEIR EPAS UNIT I BELIEVE THERE IS SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THE PART. ADDITIONALLY, THIS PART CANNOT BE SERVICED AND REQUIRES A FULL REPLACEMENT. PART COST IS $1500 PLUS 2-3 HOURS OF LABOR. PUTTING THE TOTAL COST TO REPAIR AT $1800 - $1900 IN MY AREA.

AFTER RAISING THE HOOD AND LOOKING IN THE FUSE PANEL UNDER THE HOOD, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE SHOWED SIGNS OF MELTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD SQUARE OF MT. VERNON (1501 BROADWAY ST, MT VERNON, IL 62864, (618) 242-8600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE NEEDED TO BE RELOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,800. *LN*JB
WHILE CRUISING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THIS PAST WEEKEND AT 75 MPH THE TRUCK SUDDENLY WENT DOWN INTO 3RD GEAR, THEN DOWN TO FIRST AND WENT INTO A STALL MODE. I PRESSED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. THE RPM GAUGE WENT UP TO ALMOST 5000. I THEN PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE, WHEREUPON THE VEHICLE FINALLY WENT BACK TO NORMAL AND IN 6TH GEAR!
DRIVING DOWN THE TOLLWAY AT 75 MPH WHEN THE TRUCK SUDDENLY DROPPED DOWN INTO THIRD GEAR AND THEN TO FIRST GEAR.
I RECENTLY HAD MY TRUCK SERVICED FOR THE REPROGRAMMING OF A TRANSMISSION CONCERN. THE NEXT DAY MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WILL NOT RUN HIGHER THAN 1ST GEAR. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. THEY COULD NOT LOOK AT MY CAR FOR ANOTHER TWO WEEKS.
I TAKE MY FORD F-150 TO ONE DEALERSHIP FOR MAINTENANCE AND NOW THEY SAY THE LUG NUTS NEED REPLACED. IF WERE ON THE ROAD AND HAD A FLAT I COULD NOT REMOVE THE TIRE DUE TO THE DAMAGED NUTS. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECTIVE ITEM THAT FORD CONTINUES TO INSTALL ON ALL VEHICLES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WITH THE ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED AND WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CORNER AT APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE REAR WHEELS LOST TRACTION. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLIDE AND THE TRACTION CONTROL INDEPENDENTLY ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ALMOST TO THE POINT OF LEAVING THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL SLOWED DOWN THE REAR WHEELS, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE UNCONTROLLABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WOODHOUSE FORD (2546 US-30, BLAIR, NE 68008, (402) 426-4126) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION THE TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO REV TO MAX RPMS. THIS RESULTED IN A SUDDEN JOLT OF THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AND RAPID DECELERATION. VEHICLES TRAVELING BEHIND ME HAD TO SLAM THEIR BRAKES TO NARROWLY AVOID REAR ENDING ME BECAUSE THE TRUCK SLOWED DOWN SO SUDDENLY AND WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS AS A WARNING. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IN THE LAST 2 DAYS SINCE THIS HAPPENED, THE SPEEDOMETER HAS ACTED ERRATICALLY BY GOING UP AND DOWN FROM 0 TO HIGHWAY SPEED OF 60MPH WHILE I WAS TRAVELING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 60. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO SHIFT ERRATICALLY INTO A GEAR THAT WOULD MATCH THE SPEED OF WHERE THE SPEEDOMETER INDICATES EVEN THOUGH THE TRUE SPEED IS 60MPH. THESE SUDDEN DOWN SHIFTS SEEM TO HAVE DAMAGED MY TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE TRUCK NOW HAS ISSUES GOING INTO GEAR FROM A STOP AND WILL REV TO OVER 4000 RPM WITHOUT SHIFTING INTO 1ST GEAR TO START MOVING. ONCE IT'S MOVING, THE TRANSMISSION OFTEN SHIFTS ERRATICALLY WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER ACTS UP. I WILL NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK ANYMORE EXCEPT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BECAUSE IT IS TOO DANGEROUS.

ENGINE WILL USUALLY RESTART AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS AND RUN NORMALY UNTIL NEXT FAILURE. PROBLEM MAY OCCUR MULTIPLE TIMES IN A DAY. MY AUTO DIAGNOSTIC TOOL GIVES P2111 CODE WHICH INDICATES A THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM. PROBLEM HAS OCCURED WHEN STOPPED OR MOVING AT ANY SPEED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT MAY OR MAY NOT COME ON ( NOT CONSISTENT). CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONCERNING THIS ISSUE AFTER READING ABOUT A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM" 13N03 RELATING TO THIS ISSUE IN WHICH FORD OFFERS TO REPLACE THE FAULTY PART AT NO CHARGE AS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN LIEU OF A FACTORY RECALL ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY (FORD) MAY NOT HELP WITH THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO REVIEW MY COMPLAINT AND WOULD GET BACK TO ME.
WHEN PULLING OFF OF A RESIDENTIAL STREET ONTO A CITY STREET THE EVENING OF OCT 1, 2019 (SPEED LIMIT 45 MPH) MY TRUCK GOT STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. WITH TRAFFIC AROUND ME, I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO 3RD 2ND AND 1ST, BUT NO CHANGE. I WENT BACK TO DRIVE AND STILL NO CHANGE. THEN A WRENCH SHOWED UP NEXT TO THE ODOMETER AND THE ODOMETER WENT TO - - - - - AND SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0, RPM STILL WORKED. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF TRUCK AND RESTARTED AND ALL WAS FINE. THIS HAPPENED TO ME A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE, BUT WHEN I SHIFTED TO 3RD, IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION RELATED REPROGRAM RECALL COMPLETED ON 23 SEPT. BOTH SHIFTING EVENTS OCCURRED AFTER THE REPROGRAM. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN IF IT HAPPENS AT A BUSY TIME. FORTUNATELY TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME BOTH TIMES. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM BECAUSE TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND IMMEDIATELY TURNING ON CORRECTED THE PROBLEM BOTH TIMES. IT COULD BE COINCIDENTAL THAT THIS IS HAPPENING AFTER THE REPROGRAM, BUT I WANTED TO REPORT BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS. IT SEEMS VERY SIMILAR TO THE DESCRIPTIONS FROM SOME PEOPLE REGARDING THE LEAD FRAME ISSUE REPORTED ON THE 2012 MODEL.

TRAVELLING IN 30-35MPH ZONE WHEN ALL POWER DROPS - THE DASH SCREEN LIT UP ORANGE WITH THE WRENCH ICON, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THROTTLE RESPONSE WAS LOST WHICH MADE THE TRUCK SLOW DOWN. I VEERED OVER INTO THE TURN LANE AS THE TRUCK CAME TO A STOP. WHEN IT STOPPED, IT WAS IDLING VERY ROUGHLY. THE THROTTLE WAS BARELY RESPONSIVE... I COULD ONLY INCH FORWARD (EVEN IF I FLOORED IT), BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF, WAITED 10 SECONDS, TURNED IT BACK ON, AND ALL WAS WELL. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 3 WEEKS. I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
INITIALLY NOTICED SUBTLE ISSUES WITH STEERING WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND INTERSTATE, FOLLOWED BY A WARNING MESSAGE ON MY DASH BOARD STATING 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT'. POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT TEMPORARILY, LEAVING NO OPTION BUT TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK, AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. DEALERSHIP STATED THE ENTIRE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THIS BEING AN ELECTRONIC SYSTEM. WHEN RESEARCHING, IT APPEARS MANY OTHER FORD VEHICLES HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE, AND NOT JUST WITH F150S. OTHER YEARS WERE RECALLED DUE TO THIS SAME ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING DESIGN, JUST NOT MY YEAR. APPEARS THIS IS THE SAME FAULTY DESIGN.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH ON A CITY ROAD THE TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO EITHER 1ST OR 2ND GEAR. THIS CAUSED A SUDDEN SLOW DOWN AND LOSS OF POWER WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE POWERTRAIN WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHED AND MY TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE RIDE HOME. AFTER PARKING MY TRUCK AND RE STARTING THE VEHICLE, NO WARNING INDICATORS ARE VISIBLE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON AND THE TRUCK SEEMS TO BE OPERATING NORMAL. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID MY TRUCK WAS UNDER THE RECALL, BUT NO FIX WAS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THEN TOLD ME TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULD TELL ME IF IT WAS SAFE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE. QUICK RECAP: THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED, SUDDEN SLOW DOWN, RECALL STATES THIS MAY CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE, FORD SAYS NO FIX AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME, FORD ALSO SAYS TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP EVEN THOUGH THEY ADMIT THE DEALERSHIP CANT FIX IT. I FILLED UP THE RESERVOIR AND PUMPED BRAKES AND THEY WERE GOOD SO I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 15 MILES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN AND THE DISPLAY SAID LOW BRAKE FLUID. GOT VEHICLE BACK TO HOUSE AND FILLED IT BACK UP WITH BRAKE FLUID AND PUMPED BRAKES AND NO LEAKS BUT STILL LOSING FLUID. CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND FORD HAD A RECALL OF THE BRAKE RESERVOIR LEAKING FLUID INTO THE BOOSTER BUT IT WAS FOR AUGUST 2013 AND MY TRUCK WAS MADE IN JUNE OF 2013 SO I DIDN'T GET A RECALL. DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THIS IS WHAT'S HAPPENING TO MY TRUCK. FORD NEEDS TO TAKE A LOOK AT THIS AND INCLUDE MORE VEHICLES IN THIS RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED BECAUSE THEIR BRAKES FAIL.
WHILE ACCELERATING QUICKLY, BUT NOT SO MUCH AS TO SPIN THE TIRES, THE VEHICLE STARTED "BUCKING". I WAS DOING ABOUT 35-40 WHEN IT GOT PRETTY BAD. THE ENGINE FELT AS IF IT WAS STOPPING AND STARTING VERY QUICKLY. IT WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY HARD TO CONTROL AND IT CAUSES THE TRUCK TO NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR EVEN REACH HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND DID NOT STOP FLASHING FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. THE TRUCK WOULD ALSO NOT LET ME ACCELERATE FOR THAT AMOUNT OF TIME EITHER.

BRAKE PEDAL SINKS SLOWLY TO FLOOR DURING STATIONARY AND MOTION
MY 2013 F150 PLATINUM DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING, AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED BY DAVID STANLEY FORD IN MIDWEST CITY AND FOUND OUT THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE A FUSE RELOCATION KIT PUT IN TO FIX MY ENGINE FAILURE. I RESEARCHED WHAT THAT WAS, AND FOUND OUT THAT THE FACTORY INSTALLED MINI FUSE RUNNING THE FUEL PUMP CANNOT HANDLE THE AMOUNT OF CURRENT GOING THROUGH IT, AND OVERTIME IT MELTS THE FUSE BOX ITSELF, INSTEAD OF BLOWING THE FUSE, WHICH CAUSES COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. IT IS SUCH A COMMONLY KNOWN ISSUE THAT FORD HAS EVEN ISSUED A TSB EXPLAINING HOW TO FIX AND INSTALL THIS PROBLEM WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED KIT. WHY I AM COMPLAINING IS BECAUSE THIS ISSUE THAT CAUSES DANGEROUS ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AND WHICH LEAVES THE OWNER STRANDED, IS NOT A RECALL WHEN EVEN FORD KNOWS THAT IT IS A FACTORY INSTALLED MALFUNCTION. THE NEXT TIME TRIED TO ACCELERATE (8/16/19) THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER ERADICABLE THE DASH ICONS FLASHED AND THE PICKUP STALLED AS TO BE IN LOW GEAR, I SHUT OFF THE IGNITION AFTER PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED IT AFTER A BIT AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN, NOT SURE OF DATES. AS I WAS TRAVELING OUT OF SOUTH DAKOTA I CONTACTED GATEWAY, THEY SAID TO TAKE THE PICKUP TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULD FIX IT. TOOK IT TO AUTO NATION FORD IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. THEY WOULDN'T FIX IT . THEY SAID THE UPDATE WAD ALREADY DONE. THE PICKUP DROVE AND WORKED GOOD PRIOR TO THE RECALL UPDATE AND NOW IT WILL SHIFT RADICALLY AND DASH ICON FLASHING WHEN ACCELERATING RAPIDLY. IN ADDITION THE DRIVERS SEAT IS WEARING OUT. IT SHOULD REAR BETTER THAN THAT. THE PICKUP ONLY HAS 90,178 MILES ON IT AND SHOULD LAST ME LONGER THAN THAT. ONE MORE ISSUE. THE POSITIVE BATTERY POST CONTINUALLY CORRODES.
