TROUBLE WITH STEERING. GETTING FEEDBACK IN THE STEERING WHEEL (NOISE AND VIBRATION). AT TIMES STEERING IS DIFFICULT AND NOT RETURNING TO CENTER ON ITS OWN. IN MOTION, ANY ROAD CONDITION, TURNING AND NOT TURNING ANY SPEED. AFTER READING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS BELIEVE THE PROBLEM TO BE THE STEERING GEARBOX.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN THE FAST LANE. SUDDENLY THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE CAR EXPERIENCED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A TOTAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. I PLACED THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE TO THE SHOULDER, WITH 18 WHEELERS AND OTHER CARS TRYING TO REACT TO MY SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND SPEED. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTING IT, IT APPEARS OK TO PROCEED. THIS SAME INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED NOW 8 TIMES IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. I TOOK THE CAR INTO FORD AND THEY ARE CLAIMING IT'S AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. I MENTIONED THAT I SEE A THROTTLE BODY RECALL FOR 2015-2016 F-150'S, BUT FORD IS DENYING THE ISSUE, INDICATING THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY 2013. I FIND MANY COMPLAINTS IDENTICAL TO MINE FOR F-150'S EARLIER THAN 2015. THEY ALSO CLAIM FORD DENIES THE ISSUE AND REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MOST ALSO REFERENCE CONCERN FOR A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE, FEELING THAT FORD WILL ONLY FIX THIS ONCE PEOPLE DIE. I TOOK MY F-150 TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER TODAY AND THEY VERIFIED IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY, AND ARE CHARGING ME $650 TO FIX IT. I HAVE READ FROM OTHERS THAT THE COMPONENT USED TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS THE ORIGINAL FAULTY COMPONENT, SO THERE IS NO REASON TO FEEL THAT THE PROBLEM WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN EVENTUALLY. I HAVE EXPERIENCED FOUR TIMES ON THE FREEWAY AT 65MPH, AND SEVERAL TIMES ON CITY STREETS AT 30MPH. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT, NOT BRAKING.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AS A FIREFIGHTER FOR MY SHIFT WHEN WITH NO WARNING MY TRUCK WENT FROM HIGH GEAR STRAIGHT DOWN TO FIRST GEAR THEN TO PARK CAUSING SUDDEN STOP AND A MINOR ACCIDENT ON I275 CINCINNATTI THEN COMING HOME IT INSTANTLY WENT INTO PARK ON US ROUTE 50 CAUSING MY TRUCK TO GO OUT OF CONTROL AND SWERVED OVER INTO THE ONCOMING LANE ALMOST HITTING SOMEONE HEAD ON THEN COULD NOT MOVE THE TRUCK AS IT WAS STUCK IN PARK SITTING SIDEWAYS BETWEEN BOTH LANES I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO MOVE AGAIN BUT IT BARELY MOVED AS IT WAS IN HIGH GEAR STUCK THERE. I WAS ABLE TO BARELY REMOVE IT FROM THE ROAD AND HAD TO HAVE A TOW TRUCK RETRIEVE IT AND BRING IT TO MY HOUSE THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD IS NOT IN A HURRY TO FIX ON A RECALL ISSUE ON THE TRANSMISSIONS THEREFORE LEAVING ME WITHOUT A TRUCK OR VEHICLE TO DRIVE ALMOST HAD A SERIOUS CRASH TWICE NOW. PLUS MY TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY OUT OF MY TRUCK NOW NO MOVEMENT FOR ANY LOADING ETC.
THE FORD MOTORCRAFT TIMING CHAIN PART AT4Z-6268A WAS REPLACED ON 12/28/2018 AND FAILED ON JUNE 11,2019. BEING A 3.5L ECOBOOST INTERFERENCE ENGINE, THEIR WAS CONSQUENCIAL DAMAGE TO THE CYLINDER AND VALVES LEAVING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS AT HOME RESIDENT AND REQUIRED A TOW. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS RELATED TO A PART THAT FAILED, FORTUNATELY WHILE STOPPED, AND NOT IN MOTION. I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH FORD, HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR WRITTEN WARRANTY OR PROVIDING A REMEDY FOR THE PART OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE RELATED TO THE TIMING CHAIN RESULTING IN THE ABSENCE OF ANY REPAIR INVOICES.
HELLO, MY NAME IS [XXX] AND I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2013 FORD F-150 WITH 98,500 MILES 3 WEEKS AGO. I HAD JUST GOTTEN HOME FROM WORK AND I HAD TO TAKE MY GIRLFRIEND TO MEET SOMEONE. AS WE WERE PULLING OUT THE DRIVEWAY I NOTICED THAT ON THE GEAR INDICATOR IN THE GAUGE CLUSTER IT SHOWED I WAS IN 5TH GEAR, I TRIED TO ACCELERATE A LITTLE THINKING IT WAS A BUG IN THE CLUSTER BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY IN 5TH GEAR. I GOT TO THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY AND SHUT THE TRUCK OFF. I PROCEEDED TO START THE TRUCK BACK UP AND PULL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY BECAUSE EVERYTHING HAD SEEMED LIKE IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL. ABOUT 5 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD AS I WAS GOING 60 MPH THE TRUCK LOCKED UP THE REAR TIRES AND SKIDDED INTO THE OPPOSITE LANE, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS APPROACHING ME. DRIVING OFF A FREEWAY OFF RAMP AND TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY CHANGES TO 1ST GEAR LOCKING UP REAR TIRES UNTIL I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP.

WHILE DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY I LOST POWER TO MY 2013 F150 6.2L. I HAD A TRACTOR TRAILER ON MY RIGHT SIDE AND A JERK TAILGATING ME. I FINALLY MANAGED TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE. I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
THE MESSAGE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAIL" MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND WAS VERY HARD TO DRIVE VEHICLE AND TO NEGOTIATE TURNS TO GET HOME FROM WORK ON FRIDAY EVENING, 6/7/2019. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER ON SATURDAY AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 65 MPH AND MY VEHICLE DID AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR ALMOST COSTING ME MY LIFE. CARS MANAGED TO MISS ME AND I NARROWLY MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER TO A SAFE PLACE TO RECOVER. THE CAR CONTINUED TO JERK IN SIMILAR FASHION AS ATTEMPT TO EXIT THE INTERSTATE TO GET TO A SERVICE CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SAFELY MAKE IT TO THE NEAREST FORD SERVICE CENTER SO I CALLED A TOW THROUGH GEICO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE TOW TOOK ME TO AUTO NATION FORD AND THERE THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE ISSUE I EXPERIENCED WAS DUE TO A RECALL THAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY FIXING; HOWEVER, WHEN THEY SAW THAT I HAD A 2013 FORD F150 MODEL, HE IMMEDIATELY APPRISED ME OF THE FACT THAT FORD DID NOT HAVE THE SOFTWARE YET TO REPROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE TO PREVENT THE UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT. THE REPRESENTATIVE THEN TOLD ME THERE WAS ANOTHER RECALL IN THE SYSTEM FOR THIS VEHICLE THAT HE COULD DO, BUT IT WOULD NOT REMEDY THE INITIAL SITUATION. MY VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE AND I ASKED WHEN FORD WOULD HAVE A REMEDY FOR THIS. HE STATED THAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THIS CURRENT QUARTER, BUT THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED THE INFORMATION TO DO THE REPROGRAM. NOW, I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE DUE TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN. I THINK THEY SHOULD GIVE ME A LOANER OR PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO TIMELINE AS TO WHEN THIS RECALL REMEDY WILL BE AVAILABLE.

The contact owns a A.R.E. Z series Truck Cap (n2497015) connected to a 2013 Ford f-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the driver side window on the truck cap flew off. The contact mentioned two years later, the passenger side window flew off the truck cap. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the diagnosis was undetermined. The driver-side window was repaired. The manufacturer of the equipment was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
JUST OUTSIDE OF 60.000 MI WARRANTY TRUCK THREW A CODE P2112. PAYING FOR IT OUT OF POCKET I BOUGHT NEW TAC UNIT AND INSTALLED AND CLEARED CODE TRUCK RAN FINE UP TILL 144.OOO MI .THEN BEGAN CLATTERING UPON 1ST START UP AFTER SITTING SEVERAL HOURS .THEY SAID THAT IT NEEDED NEW TIMING SET AND TENSIONER. I BOUGHT AND INSTALLED AND REPLACED ALL TIMING COMPONANTS. TRUCK ALSO BEGAN SHOWING CODES P2112 AGAIN AND WILL ONLY CUT OUT WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND UNDER A LOAD ..CYLCLE KEY AND WILL START AND DRIVE A BLOCK AND REPEAT ONLY THIS TIME IT THROWS THE P2112 CODE AND AS LONG AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON THE TRUCK WONT STALL AS BEFORE.
STEERING IS BAD , WHEN IN MOTION
THE DEALERSHIP'S FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT TO ADDRESS THE RECALL WAS TWO WEEKS OUT. AFTER TRYING TO GET AN EARLIER APPOINTMENT AS THE TRANSMISSION HAD SHIFTED GEARS WHILE WE WERE TOWING A TRAILER DOWN A HILL ALMOST CAUSING US TO CRASH. THE RECEPTIONIST THEN TOLD US THAT THEY ACTUALLY CANT MAKE THE CORRECTION AND THAT WE WOULD BE RECEIVING A LETTER IN THE MAIL AND REFUSED TO TAKE OUR VEHICLE IN.
FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE LEADFRAME ISSUE ON THE TRANSMISSIONS FOR A VERY LONG TIME. THEIR FIX, BESIDES EXTENDING THE WARRANTY, IS TO MODIFY THE SOFTWARE. HOWEVER, THEY'VE NOW DELAYED THAT FIX UNTIL AN EXPECTED OCTOBER DATE FOR MY 2013 F-150. THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE LEADFRAME NOW.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE KEY IN IGNITION WARNING CHIME. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE IGNITION WARNING WOULD NOT ALERT THAT THEY KEY WAS LEFT IN THE IGNITION ONCE THE DOOR HAS OPENED, WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. THE CONSUMER SUGGEST AN ALERT FOR DRIVERS TO REMEMBER TO TURN ON HEADLIGHTS AND TO REPEAL RIGHT TURN ON RED LAW. *JS
WHILE DRIVING ON 6/2/2019 AT ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR I SUDDENLY FELT LIKE I HAD BEEN HIT IN THE REAR END BY A TRUCK. THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTING ALSO CAUSED THE FAILURE OF THE U-JOINT ON THE TRUCK. WHEN TAKING IT TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP THERE WAS ALSO METAL FOUND IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION PAN NOW RESULTING IN A NEED TO REPLACE OR REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION AT CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE $4000+. IN LOOKING UP TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS I FOUND WHAT HAD HAPPENED. 'FORD RECALL NUMBER: 19S07 'RECALL DESCRIPTION: ON YOUR VEHICLE, AN INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (OSS) IN THE TRANSMISSION MAY RESULT IN AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR. 'RISK TO SAFETY: AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR CAN CAUSE AN ABRUPT WHEEL SPEED REDUCTION, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE REAR TIRES TO SLIDE UNTIL THE VEHICLE SPEED SLOWS DOWN. THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. MY TRUCK SHIFTS FROM 6 GEAR TO 3RD GEAR WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY AND ON THE HIGHWAY
MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN COMPLETE FAILURE OF ONE OF THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES JUST BEFORE THE QUICK DISCONNECT. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AND UNDER ACCELERATION. THE FAILURE WAS UNEXPECTED AND ALLOWED A LARGE AMOUNT OF HOT TRANS OIL TO SPRAY ON THE HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND TURBO CHARGER ON THE R SIDE OF THE ENGINE. THE AMOUNT OF WHITE SMOKE WAS ENOUGH TO STOP TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. OIL SPRAY WAS NOTICEABLE ON THE ENTIRETY OF MY TRUCK. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A MAJOR RISK OF FIRE HAPPENING. THE VOLUME OF HOT TRANS FLUID COMBINED WITH HOT EXHAUST AND THE EVEN HOTTER TURBOS COULD EASILY IGNITE. ONLINE RESEARCH HAS SHOWN ME THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON FAILURE ON THE F 150 TRUCKS IN THIS MODEL YEAR RANGE. THE FACT THAT THE DEALER HAD ALL LINES IN STOCK TELLS ME THIS IS FAIRLY COMMON. PLEASE NOTE THE ATTACHED PICTURE IS NOT MY ACTUAL FAILED LINE BUT THAT OF AN IDENTICAL FAILURE TO MINE FOUND ON THE INTERNET.
RELATING TO THE FORD 19S07 RECALL. THE TRUCK WILL SHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING THE REAR TIRES TO LOCK UP AND A SUDDEN UNEXPECTED RAPID DECELERATION AND TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED IN FEBRUARY OF 2019 AND IT IS NOW MAY 31ST OF 2019 AND NO REMEDY HAS BEEN PROVIDED FOR THE 3.5L ECOBOOST F150'S. THIS IS A MASSIVE SAFTEY HAZARD THAT COULD CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH.
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM MT ON THE INTERSTATE AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND THEN SAW A SMALL BLACK PIECE IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. I THEN HEARD NOISE FROM THE MOON ROOF, I PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE MOON ROOF EXPLODED , NOTHING HIT IT!

THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED INTO THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ASSIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING RESULTING IN ALMOST WRECKING INTO A GULLEY AT A SPEED OF 65MPH
MY TRUCK IS AFFECTED BY AN OPEN RECALL AND FORD WILL NOT FIX IT. THIS HAS ALREADY COST ALMOST $500, COMPLETELY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST WHILE I WAS DIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH. THIS CAUSED A TRANSMISSION LINE TO COMPLETELY SHEER AT THE CONNECTION. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM BUT THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY WERE INFORMED IN AM EMAIL FROM FORD NOT TOP FLASH THE UPDATE FOR 2013 MODELS BECAUSE IT WASN'T WORKING. IN RESPONSE, THE DEALERSHIP FIXED THE LINE AND CHARGED ME FULL PRICE. NOW THE SERVICE WRENCH IS FLASHING AGAIN.
DRIVING TRUCK ON A TWO LANE ROAD WHEN THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY WENT OUT AS I WAS ROLLING UP TO THE STOP SIGN. I MANAGED TO CONTROL THE TRUCK AND GET IT TURNED AROUND AND BACK TO MY HOUSE WITHOUT PROBLEM, BUT COULD ONLY IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD I BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHEN THIS HAPPENED. AFTER RESEARCH, I SAW THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SOME RECALLS BUT MY TRUCK WAS NOT ONE OF THEM. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPAIRED IT FOR $2300. SAID THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN. CALLED COMPLAINT LINE AT THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY PAID $700 OF THE $2300 WHICH WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR, BUT STILL FEEL THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AS A RECALL ISSUE AND THEREFORE NO CHARGE TO US. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING IN FORD CARS AND TRUCKS FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. THIS TRUCK IS A 2013 AND ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. ONE WOULD NOT EXPECT SUCH AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR TO BE NECESSARY ON A TRUCK WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. AND SURELY A SAFETY HAZARD IF THIS HAD HAPPENED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED.

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT DOWNSHIFTS INTO FIRST GEAR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO "LIMP MODE." THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WE HAD IT TOWED AND THEN DISCOVERED THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ISSUED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HAS DECLARED THE TRUCK UNSAFE TO DRIVE, BUT OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP HAS STATED THEY CAN NOT FIX IT YET AND THAT THE DRIVABILITY OF THE VEHICLE IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM.

I ASKED IF I PAID FOR REPAIR OUT OF POCKET IF THEY WOULD FIX IT AND WAS TOLD THAT NO THAT CAN'T UNTIL HOLD IS LIFTED SOMETIME IN 2ND QUARTER. I HAVE THREE KIDS THAT ARE WITH ME A LOT AND I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A SEMI BEHIND ME. WAS I GIVEN THE CORRECT INFO ON A HOLD FOR THIS REPAIR?
MY REAR SLIDING WINDOW DEFROST STOPPED WORKING AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. I DROVE THE TRUCK ON A COUNTY ROAD (55 MPH) ABOUT 5 MILES( 10 MINUTES) AND I LOOKED IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR AND SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST AGAINST THE GLASS. A FEW SECONDS LATER I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE RIGHT SIDE REAR WINDOW PANE SHATTERED. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND I PULLED THE RELAY FUSE FOR THE WINDOW DEFROST. THE GLASS STAYED INTACT EXCEPT FOR A FEW SHARDS OF GLASS THAT I FOUND ON THE SEAT.

I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR ON A CITY STREET WHEN MY TRUCK WHEN THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED BY ITSELF AND THE BLUE WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED. MY TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE. AFTER PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET, I TURNED OFF MY TRUCK, WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND THEN THE ISSUE RESOLVED ITSELF. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP ON APRIL 18, 2019 WHERE RECALL 19S07 6R80 (REPROGRAM POWER TRAIN MODULE) WORK WAS COMPLETED. ON MAY 17, 2019, WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR ON A CITY STREET (WITHOUT NOTICE OR CAUSE) MY TRUCK AGAIN WENT INTO DOWNSHIFT MODE, LIMP MODE AND THE BLUE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. SAME AS THE FIRST INSTANCE, I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET, TURNED OFF MY TRUCK, WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND WHEN I TURNED ON THE TRUCK AGAIN THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. IT WAS CLEAR THAT THIS ISSUE WAS ELECTRICAL AND NO MECHANICAL AND THE ORIGINAL RECALL WORK COMPLETED BY THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ON 05/19/2019, I AGAIN TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THIS TIME THE MODULE LEAD FRAME WAS REPLACED AFTER CODE P0722 WAS IDENTIFIED. I WANT THE RECORD TO REFLECT THAT THE FIRST RECALL, REPROGRAMMING OF THE POWER TRAIN MODULE DID NOT WORK, AND LEFT ME AT RISK OF A SECOND DOWNSHIFTING INCIDENT OCCURRING. MY TRUCK HAD A SECOND INCIDENT AND AFTER RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP A SECOND TIME THE LEADFRAME WAS REPLACED. I ALSO WANT TO NOTE THAT THE DEALERSHIP'S DATA THAT THE ORIGINAL RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED ON 04/26/2019 IS INACCURATE. THE ORIGINAL RECALL WORK WAS PERFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP ON 04/18/2019.

I ALSO RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL ABOUT AN ADDITIONAL RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE (NOT LISTED IN NHTSA) WHERE A SPEED SENSOR FAILURE MAY OCCUR WHICH REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION (SEE ATTACHED). WHEN I'VE DESCRIBED THE PROBLEMS I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING WITH MY VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THEY WERE NOT SYMPTOMS OF EITHER OF THE RECALLS AND WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR REPAIR UNDER THE RECALLS. I ENGAGED 4X4 LOW TO PULL SOME ONE OUT OF THE MUD, HEARD A LOUD CLUNK AFTER MOVING FORWARD A FEW FEET. PULLED OUT THE CAR WHEN I PUT IT BACK INTO NEUTRAL SELECTED 2H AT A SLIGHT ROLL THE TRUCK LOST MOVEMENT. THE POP UP BOX WENT AWAY I PUT IT IN DRIVE WOULD NOT MOVE, TRIED REVERSE SAME THING. THE SPEEDOMETER WORKED AND THE GEAR SELECTION WORKED SAID I EVEN SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR. I HAD TO SHIFT BACK TO 4L SAME THING SHIFTED INTO 4H STARTED MOVING THEN BACK TO 2H. HAVE NOT EVEN TRIED 4L SINCE TRUCK ONLY HAD 61000 MILES
MY TRUCK FAILED TO START, AND WHEN I INVESTIGATED THE ISSUE I FOUND FUSE 27 (LOCATED IN THE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX AT THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE BAY) MELTED CAUSING CIRCUIT FOR THE FUEL PUMP TO OPEN WHICH LEFT THE TRUCK WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING FUEL SYSTEM (FUSE 27 IS PART OF THE CIRCUIT FOR THE FUEL PUMP). REPLACING THE DAMAGED FUSE RESOLVED THE ISSUE WHILE A MORE ROBUST SOLUTION IS DETERMINED. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED DURING OPERATION THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE LOST POWER, BEEN UNABLE TO STEER DUE TO AN ELECTRIC ASSISTED STEERING SYSTEM AND BECOME A HAZARD FOR OTHER VEHICLES WHILE PUTTING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE TRUCK, AND ANY VEHICLE THAT COLLIDES WITH IT, AT RISK FOR INJURY OR DEATH. FORD ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB 15-0137), BUT THIS IS NOT COMMONLY KNOWN OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE-SPECIFIC SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS ON THE INTERNET (HTTPS://WWW.FORD-TRUCKS.COM/FORUMS/1449733-TSB-15-0137-FUEL-PUMP-FUSE.HTML). FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THE CONSEQUENCES ARE OBVIOUS. THE FIX FORD RECOMMENDS IS INEXPENSIVE (UNDER $30 IN PARTS) AND NOT VERY TIME CONSUMING (0.6 FLAG HOURS).
THE TRUCK WILL SOMETIMES JUST REFUSE TO GO AND WILL JUMP A LOT AND OTHER TIMES ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME AND THE SPEEDOMETER WILL STOP WORKING AND THIS CAN MAKE THE TRUCK JUMP A LOT. HAD TRUCK PUT ON COMPUTER AND IT COMES UP WITH SPEED SENSOR CODE.
