PER RECALL NOTICE 19S07, PREVIOUSLY 19N01, TRANSMISSION MAY DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR WHILE MOVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I HAVE HAD 3 INSTANCES OF PROBLEMS WITH AND TODAY 05/15/19 TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR AND LOCKED UP REAR WHEELS. IF ANOTHER VEHICLE HAD BEEN FOLLOWING IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS CRASH WITH POSSIBLE INJURIES. FORD STATED THEY DID NOT CURRENTLY HAVE A FIX ALTHOUGH PROBLEM HAS EXISTED WITH FORD 2013 F150 ECOBOOST 3.5 ENGINE VEHICLES FOR SERVERAL MONTHS. I WAS TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. THIS IS A FORD TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WITH RECALL NOTICES THAT WERE SENT OUT BY FORD AND THEY STILL HAVE NO FIX.
THE END OF LAST MAY, PULLING OUR CAMPER UP THE RATON PASS, IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND A FOGGY SLEET STORM THE MIL ILLUMINATED, THE ENGINE DIED AND WE WERE BARELY ABLE TO NEGOTIATE OUR WAY BACK TO THE SHOULDER, AFTER JUST HAVING MERGED INTO THE LEFT LANE. WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE TRUCK AND IT DIED A COUPLE MORE TIMES ALONG THE WAY SO WE TOOK IT TO XIT FORD IN DALHART TX. THE TECH THERE FOUND A BUNCH OF CODES STORED IN THE PCM, CLEARED THEM AND SENT US ON OUR WAY AND THE DRIVE BACK TO DALLAS WAS UNEVENTFUL. AFTER WE GOT HOME, THE WIFE WAS DRIVING HER TRUCK ON THE FREEWAY AND IT DIED ON HER ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, SO I TOOK IT TO NORTH CENTRAL FORD, SINCE THEY HAD DONE A PCM RECALL RE-FLASH (19V-075) ON IT PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR OUR TRIP. THEY TOLD US THERE WAS AN EVEN NEWER RE-FLASH AND THE PREFORMED THAT AND IT SEEMED TO SETTLE DOWN. WITH THE RECENT COLD SNAP WE HAVE HAD, THE TRUCK HAS STARTED TO EXHIBIT A "A CRANK NO-START" SYMPTOM AND WITH A LITTLE RESEARCH I CAME ACROSS "TSB 15-0137" WHICH FITS ALL OF OUR SYMPTOMS TO A TEE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION... HAVING YOUR TRUCK DIE ON YOU, WHILE PULLING A TRAILER, UP AN ALMOST 8000 FOOT PASS, IN A STORM... IT IS A WONDER WE WERE NOT KILLED! THE TSB WAS PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 2, 2015 AND COVERS F150 MODEL YEARS 2009 - 2014. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS, THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND I WOULD NOT HAVE FOUND THE CURE WITHOUT THEM. THE ISSUE IS CAUSED BY THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FUSE NOT HAVING CONTACTS LARGE ENOUGH TO CARRY THE CURRENT REQUIRED, GETTING HOT AND MELTING IN THE FUSE BOX. THE REMEDY LISTED IN THE TSB IS A NEW FUSE WITH CONTACTS AT LEAST 10 TIMES LARGER. WHEN I CHECKED OUR TRUCK FUSE 27 WAS INDEED MELTED AND I ORDERED EL3Z-14293-A AS SPECIFIED IN THE TSB. I AM ALSO SURPRISED THAT NEITHER DEALERSHIP SEEMED TO KNOW ABOUT THE TSB.
RECEIVES A COUPLE NOTICES FROM FORD/AUTONATION STATING TO SCHEDULE MY TRUCK FOR REPAIRS. I DID SO AND THEN DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THAT THERE IS NO FIX AS OF YET. SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW JUST WAIT FOR TRUCK TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE OR PARK BY ITSELF? WHY EVEN SEND ME THESE NOTICES IF THEY CANNOT FIX THEM AND WASTE MY TIME BY SCHEDULING WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE A SOFTWARE YET TO FIX IT? WILL I BE NOTIFIED AGAIN TO GET THIS FIX? AM I SUPPOSED TO CALL EVERY DAY TO SEE IF THE SOFTWARE IS IN? DO THEY PROVIDE ME A LOANER TRUCK IN THE MEANTIME UNTIL THEY GET THE SOFTWARE? WHAT IS A CONSUMER SUPPOSED TO DO, JUST DRIVE IT UNTIL HOPEFULLY THEY GET THE SOFTWARE AND OR HAVE A WRECK.
TRUCK NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL I TOOK IT IN FOR A OIL CHANGE AND TO FIX A RECALL PROBLEM. AFTER RECALL FIX THE NEXT WEEK SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 60+MPH THE CAR SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTS IN TO A LOW GEAR AND CAR ALMOST CO.ES TO A DEAD STOP ON THE FREEWAY. I PULLED OVER AND STARTED THE TRUCK AGAIN AND CAR WORKED FI E FOR A TRIP. THEN THE NEXT TRIP ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR DID IT AGAIN, THIS TIME I NOTICED A WRENCH POP UP ON THE DISPLAY AND MY SPEEDOMETER MOVING UP AND DOWN. EVENTUALLY THE SPEEDOMETER WENT STRAIGHT TO ZERO, BUT STILL ALLOWING ME TO DRIVE AFTER PLACING TRUCK IN (FAKE STANDARD MODE. AFTER ARRIVING HOME I PARKED CAR. TURNED OFF ENGINE, RESTARTED AND SPEEDOMETER WORKED AGAIN. CALL LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND DROVE CAR TO SHOP. AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS THEY'RE TELLING ME NOTHING THEY DID ON A SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM. YET I NEVER HAD IT HAPPEN BEFORE AND THE RECALL WAS FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM I'M HAVING. ALSO IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS A RECALL ON PREVIOUS YEARS THAT REPLACED MORE THAN JUST SOFTWARE. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. I DON'T BELIEVE THE CLAIMS OF ONLY CAUSING 5 ACCIDENTS WITH NO INJURIES. THIS HAS PROBABLY BEEN THE CAUSE OF 1000S OF ACCIDENTS AND ALSO DEATHS. BUT PEOPLE PROBABLY ARE NOT REALIZING WHAT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING WHEN A ACCIDENT ACURRS. AFTER RESEARCH IT LOOKS 5O BE POSSIBLE LEAD FRAME OR SPEED SENSOR. IDK BUT MY FAMILY WILL PARK THIS TRUCK AND NEVER DRIVE AGAIN UNTIL FIXED AGAIN THE RECALL FIX CAUSED THE PROBLEM, DIFFERENTLY DID NOT FIX. 1.5 MILLION F150 OWNERS ARE ON THE ROAD. I WILL NEVER BE BEHIND A F150 AGAIN IN CASE THE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I DID.
I RECIEVED A RECALL LETTER FOR RECALL NUMBER 19S07 FROM FORD IN MARCH 2019. I HAVE SINCE CONTACTED FORD NUMEROUS TIMES TO FIX THIS VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION. THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO SAY THEY CAN NOT HELP ME. AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK MY TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. I HAVE ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN THIS OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AND FORD NEEDS TO FIND A FIX FOR THIS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT. 2013 FORD F-50 XLT WITH 3.5 ENGINE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). PURVIS FORD LINCOLN (3660 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, FREDERICKSBURG, VA 22408, (540) 898-3000) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. THE POWERTRAIN MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE JERKED VIOLENTLY. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE POWER TRAIN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000. *BF *JB *JS
ALL OF THE SUDDEN STEERING GOT HARD TO TURN. IT DOESN'T FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. AND WHEN WE CALLED THE DEALER THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS DOING. SAME THING THE 2014S WERE RECALLED FOR.
I WAS DRIVING IN FREEWAY WITH SPEED OF 60 TO 65 MILES. ALL SUDDEN CAR MAKES BIG NOISE, SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING HIT BUT THERE IS NOTHING AND LOOSE POWER AND GEAR CHANGE TO 1. BUT RPM GOES ALL THE WAY TO 7000 RPM. VERY DANGER TO DRIVE. SOON I PULL OVER AND PUT IT ON PARK, AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, THEN TURN BACK ON THE CAR, IT DRIVES GOOD.
WHILE IN DRIVE MY TRUCK WILL DOWNSHIFT FROM 3RD GEAR TO FIRST WITHOUT WARNING AND THE SPEEDOMETER WILL SHOW ZERO WHILE IM STILL ROLLING AROUND 20-30MPH. I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF MY TRUCK IN ORDER TO RESET MY TRUCK. GOD FORBID I HOPE THIS DOESN'T EVEN HAPPEN WHEN IM ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY, FORD WILL HAVE 5 LIVES DEPENDING ON THEIR ELECTRONICS NOT GLITCHING OUT. WHILE THIS HAPPENS THERE IS NO CODES SHOWING UP.
DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY, 65-75 MPH, LOST ENGINE POWER AND HAD TO PULL OVER, TRYING NOT TO CAUSE A WRECK, AND STOPPED BETWEEN BUSY HIGHWAY AND ON-RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY. FOUND THAT THE ENGINE HAD STALLED AND WOULDN'T RESTART. FOUND #27 FUSE MELTED. CHANGED FUSE AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE. I DON'T LIKE REPAIRING FORD'S ENGINEERING MISTAKES, NOR DO I LIKE BEING PUT IN DANGER BECAUSE OF THEM. I USE THIS TRUCK FOR WORK AND HAVE A LIFETIME'S ACCUMULATION OF SPECIALTY TOOLS KEPT IN THIS TRUCK FOR MY JOB. IF THE TRUCK GOES UP IN FLAMES, WILL FORD REPLACE WHAT IS LOST? THE WAY THIS FUSE, FUSE BOX, AND THE CONNECTION HAS FAILED LOOKS AS THERE CAN POTENTIALLY BE A FIRE. IN MY CASE, THERE WAS AN INTERRUPTION IN NORMAL TRAFFIC FLOW, AT HIGH SPEED, THAT COULD A RESULTED IN A WRECK, INJURY, DEATH, ETC. I WILL FIX THIS, PROBABLY ON MY OWN DIME. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY IS THIS NOT REQUIRED TO BE FIXED BY FORD. IT'S AN OBVIOUS SAFETY HAZARD THAT EVEN FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED AND PROVIDED A TSB TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HER HUSBAND. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, SMOKE WAS DETECTED UNDER THE HOOD AND THE TAIL PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A PARKING LOT WHERE IT STALLED AS FLAMES WERE DETECTED COMING FROM THE ENGINE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ANOTHER MOTORIST HAD A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND SUSTAINED BURNS TO ONE OF HIS HANDS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 260,000.
I WAS TRAVELING NORTH-BOUND ON AN INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DOWN-SHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR. AS A RESULT, THE REAR TIRES LOCKED UP AND SKIDDED ACROSS THE PAVEMENT UNTIL A SLOWER SPEED WAS REACHED. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND NO INJURIES/ACCIDENTS RESULTED FROM THE OCCURRENCE.
VEHICLE KEEPS DOW SHIFTING AND UP SHIFTING HAVE CALLED DEALER NUMEROUS OF TIMES WITH NO INFORMATION OF WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED AND I HAVE CAME CLOSE TO BEING IN AN ACCIDENT AS WELL DEALERSHIP WILL NOT GIVE OUT A LOANER VEHICLE EITHER AND I NEED THIS FIXED NOW IT A DANGER TO ME AND OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD

ONCE RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V0750000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED SPEEDWAY FORD (LOCATED AT 1710 N EXPY, GRIFFIN, GA 30223, (888) 324-4186) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHILE COASTING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE CONTACT POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS DOWN THE STREET FROM AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH DIFFICULTY STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED MAC HAIK FORD LINCOLN (LOCATED AT 7201 N INTERSTATE HWY 35, GEORGETOWN, TX 78626, (512) 930-3673) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY NEVER HEARD OF THE FAILURE AND THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE WHEELS SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE HESITATED. AS THE VEHICLE SLID, THE TRANSMISSION GEAR DOWNSHIFTED AND THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACTED SWERVED OFF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO BRAKE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME SAFELY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED FOR AN ENTIRE WEEKEND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PERRY FORD NATIONAL CITY (2050 NATIONAL CITY BLVD, NATIONAL CITY, CA 91950, (619) 477-2711) WHERE IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
CONTINUED AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT EVEN AFTER BRIEF REPAIR PERIOD. LIGHT REMAINS ON IMMEDIATELY AFTER START UP.
SERIOUS VIBRATION AT OR AROUND 45 TO 70MPH . STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION , FRONT END VIBRATION . USUALLY AROUND THE TIME THE TRANSMISSION TEMP HITS THE NORMAL TEMP TRUCK STARTS VIBRATING . USUALLY STARTS AT 40MPH AND GETS WORST WITH HIGHER MPH . BOUGHT THE TRUCK BACK IN NOV OF 2018 ALL WAS FINE TILL ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO WHEN THE VIBRATION STARTED . NOT VERY HAPPY.
MAY 2019 RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL NOTICE FROM FORD MOTOR CO. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM NOTICE #19N01, RECEIVED SAFERTY RECALL NHTSA 19V-075/SRN 19S07. SEEMS TO ME THAT ONCE FORD MOTOR CO DECIDES TO AFFECT THE SAFETY RECALL, THEY SHOULD ALSO CHECK OUT THIS NEW PROBLEM AS WELL WHILE THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP. FORD KNOWS THIS IS GOING TO BE AN ISSUE, SO INSTEAD OF OFFERING TO EXTEND WARRANTY TO 150,000 MILES OR UNTIL NOV 30, 2019. THEY SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY INFORM DEALERSHIPS TO INSPECT AND PERFORM CORRECTIVE MEASURES TO MAINTAIN THEIR "QUALITY ONE" MATRIX AS THEY PROFESS.
MY FORD DEALER UPDATED THE POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AS PER SAFETY RECALL (NHTSA #19V075000). MY TRANSMISSION STILL IS SHIFTING ERRATICALLY, ESPECIALLY HARD SHIFTING FROM 5TH TO 4TH. DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THIS RECALL DID NOT WORK AS EXPECTED FOR THE 2013 MODEL F-150 AND FORD HAS NOT ISSUED AN NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE TO RESOLVE.
VEHICLE HAS LOUD TICKING NOISE WHEN COLD STARTED, SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM PASSENGER SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR WARRANTY EMISSION REPAIR, DEALER STATED TURBO HAD GONE BAD AND WIPED OUT TURBO. VEHICLE HAS 63,000 MILES JUST OUTSIDE OF THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY, DEALER DECLINED ASSISTANCE AND WANTED $2500 TO REPAIR TURBO AND WOULD THEN REPLACE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. VEHICLE IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED HAVE ALL RECORDS, IF TURBO WERE TO FAIL WHILE DRIVING IT COULD HAVE POSSIBLY DESTROYED THE ENGINE STATED THE DEALER. WHY IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE ENGINE FAILING AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE? VEHICLE ALSO HAS INTERMITTENT SHIFTING PROBLEM AROUND 40-45MPH SEEMS TO SHIFT ERRATICALLY, DEALER SAYS TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME COULD BE ISSUE OR ECM/PCM PROGRAMMING, THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANY OF THOSE REPAIRS YET.

TYLER FORD (2626 S SW LOOP 323, TYLER, TX 75701, (800) 788-7876) PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WITHOUT WARNING ON THE FREEWAY, CAUSING ME TO VEER ONTO THE SHOULDER UNTIL I COULD MANUALLY REGAIN CONTROL. NO DASH LIGHTS CAME ON. POWER STEERING IS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY, BUT NOT FUNCTIONING MORE THAN FUNCTIONING. SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR OTHER YEARS WITH THE SAME EQUIPMENT DUE TO THIS, BUT NOT 2013. I'VE FOUND LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE. SOMEONE COULD'VE EASILY BEEN KILLED. MOST RECENTLY, AFTER COASTING TO A STOP AND STRANDED WITH NO BREAKS ON A RURAL ROAD (ACTIVELY RAINING), I TURNED OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL AND BREAKS RETURNED TO NORMAL. THIS BREAK FAILURE HAPPENED 4 TIMES TO DATE, DURING HIGH SPEEDS, AVERAGE SPEEDS AND LOW SPEEDS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. NO RECALL FOR MY VIN, ALTHOUGH THE TRUCK MEETS RECALL DETAILS.

DRIVING ON A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY, VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR AT 35 - 40 MPH RESULTING IN A SUDDEN JOLT, SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO. AFTER THE JOLT, VEHICLE SHIFTED BACK UP INTO THIRD GEAR AND SPEEDOMETER STARTED WORKING. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST THREE TIMES, ALWAYS AT A SIMILAR SPEED AND WHEN COASTING (NO THROTTLE, NO BRAKE APPLIED). RECENT SOFTWARE RECALL HAS BEEN DONE AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.

SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH 62K MILES. EACH TIME I USE MY TRUCK TOW /HAUL AND BRAKE ON A GRADE, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS TO SECOND GEAR AND WILL NOT EXIT UNTIL I TURN OFF THE TOW/HAUL FUNCTION. DEALER MARSHALL FORD O'FALLON MO, TELLS ME DON'T USE FUNCTION. I FIND THIS MOST INCONVENIENT, CONSIDERING I HAVE DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE FIVE YEARS TOWING MY BOAT WITHOUT A PRIOR INCIDENT. NOW IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME. I AM GETTING NO RESPONSE FROM FORD CORPORATE OR DEALER SINCE FIRST COMMUNIQUE. THEY HAVE ASSIGNED ME A CASE #2170, BUT THAT IS ALL. WAS DRIVING MY ECO BOOST WHILE TOWING A 26 FOOT TRAVEL TRAILER AND WHILE IN 4TH GEAR TRUCK INSTANTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR CAUSING RPMS TO BE DANGEROUSLY HIGH. THE TRUCK/TRAILER COMBO INSTANTLY SLOWED AND TRUCK WOULD NOT ,AUTOMATICALLY OR MANUALLY, SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. WE CONTINUED DRIVING IN FIRST GEAR FOR A SHORT DISTANCE WHEN WE SMELLED TRANSMISSION FLUID. WE STOPPED THE TRUCK TO INVESTIGATE AND FOUND OUR TRANSMISSION LINE HAD BUSTED WHICH LEAKED FLUID ALL OVER THE ROAD. WE HAD TRUCK TOWED TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD US THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUE IS RELATED TO A CURRENT RECALL BUT FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A FIX FOR THE RECALL. THE DEALER THEN CHARGED ME $568.21 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION LINE STATING THAT FORD HAS NOT INCLUDED THE TRANSMISSION LINE FIX IN THEIR RELATED RECALL. FORD IS REFUSING TO PAY ASSOCIATED TOWING EXPENSES, AS WELL. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS TO LODGE A COMPLAINT REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THE DEALER MAKES FINAL DECISIONS.
