I BOUGHT MY TRUCK NEW FROM THE DEALER 2013. I'M CONSISTENT WITH ALL THE UP KEEPS OF MY TRUCK. HOWEVER, MID AUGUST 2016, I NOTICED THE TRUCK HESITATED TO START AT THE BEGINNING WHILE IN STATIONARY POSITION FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN OUT OF NOWHERE FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT, THE ENGINE DIDN'T START IN THE MORNING AGAIN WHILE IN STATIONARY POSITION AND THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP! I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY THINKING THAT MAYBE IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, EVEN WITH THE NEW BATTERY THE TRUCK FAILED TO START IN STATIONARY. AFTER THAT, I TRIED STARTING MY TRUCK FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE DAYS, BY THE THIRD DAY THE TRUCK STARTED! I DROVE IT IMMEDIATELY TO AUTOZONE BUT NOTHING CAME UP WRONG WITH IT? SO, I DROVE IT BACK HOME. A WEEK LATER, I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK, LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPEN. THEN, YESTERDAY ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS DRIVING HOME, WHILE IN MOTION THE ENGINE DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET, SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND IMMEDIATELY ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE TRUCK AS IT CONTINUED TO HESITATE. FINALLY, AFTER 10 MINUTES THE TRUCK STARTED AND I DROVE TO AUTOZONE AND AGAIN NOTHING CAME UP WRONG WITH IT. SO I DROVE IT BACK HOME. THEN, TODAY, WHICH IS SEPTEMBER 2, 2016 WHILE THE TRUCK IS STATIONARY IT FAILED TO START AND THE ENGINE LIGHT, CAME UP AGAIN. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS TRUCK! I DON'T FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE IN FEAR THAT MY TRUCK WILL STOP WORKING WHILE IN MOTION AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I CAN GET STRANDED ANYWHERE AT ANYTIME.
LOSS OF BRAKES WHILE DRIVING. BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. TOWED CAR TO FORD TO GET BRAKES FIXED. BRAKE LINE ENDED UP BREAKING AND ROTORS WERE DAMAGED.
WHEN DRIVING THE TRUCK RANDOMLY GOES INTO 1ST GEAR. THE PROBLEM IS ESCALATING. BEFORE IT DID IT ONCE OR TWICE AND WHEN YOU WOULD HAVE IT LOOKED AT YOU COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT.
WHILE OPENING THE SUNROOF IT BINDS ON PASSENGER SIDE AND DOES NOT OPEN. THE SUNROOF WAS TO BE MANUALLY MANIPULATED TO CLOSE WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE MOTOR BUTTON. FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB, BUT IF THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED.
2013 F150 V8 WITH 28000 MILES HAS FAULTY FRONT BRAKES. THE OUTSIDE PADS APPEAR TO BE WORKING PROPERLY WHILE THE INSIDE PADS ARE NOT. THE INSIDE OF THE ROTORS ARE GOUGED AND RUSTY WHILE THE OUTSIDES ARE IN PERFECT SHAPE. I SEE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN GRINDING OFF AND ON SINCE 15000 MILE WITH NORMAL USE, AND NO OFF-ROAD USE.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PASS A CAR ON A RELATIVELY BUSY 2 LANE HIGHWAY ON SAT AUG 13 2016, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRUCK LOST POWER AND SPEED. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE PASSING WHEN THIS OCURRED. ANOTHER VEHICLE COMING FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION WAS CLOSING IN FAST, AND THE CAR I WAS PASSING (WAS JUST UP BY THE FRONT SIDE OF IT) WAS BEGINNING TO PASS ME NOW. I KNOW THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING WITH ME OR MY VEHICLE. I ENDED UP LETTING OFF THE GAS PEDDLE AND DUCKED IN BEHIND THE CAR I WAS PASSING. IT WAS ONLY SECONDS WHEN THE VEHICLE COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION WENT BY. VERY SCARY FOR ME AND MY WIFE AS IT COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER FOR ALL INVOLVED. THIS IS ACTUALLY THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME WAS JUST ACCELERATING, AND POSED NO THREAT OR ENDANGERMENT. MY SON HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO IS (2011 FX4 ECOBOOST) AND WAS TOLD BY A DEALER THAT HE MAY HAVE GOTTEN WATER IN THE FUEL. I DON'T AGREE WITH THE STATEMENT. IF NO ONE HAS BEEN INJURED OR KILLED YET, I FEEL IT WILL HAPPEN, BECAUSE OUR INCIDENT WAS CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME TO BE WRITING THIS TO YOU.
MY 2013 F150 ECOBOOST HAS APPROXIMATELY 65K MILES ON IT AND HAS RECENTLY BEGUN STALLING WHILE IN OPERATION - ALWAYS MOVING. WHEN THIS OCCURS, AN ORANGE CRESCENT WRENCH APPEARS ON THE INFORMATION CENTER, THE RPM'S BEGIN TO FLUCTUATE, THE TRUCK LOSES ALL ACCELERATION POWER, THE TRUCK BEGINS TO SHUTTER, AND I AM FORCED TO IMMEDIATELY STOP AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC TIME WHEN THIS HAPPENS AS OPPOSED TO NOT, AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE TRAFFIC AROUND ME HAS NO WAY TO ANTICIPATE THE ISSUE EITHER. THE SHOP I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO STATED THEY "THINK" IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY, BUT ARE NOT POSITIVE. THIS IS MY FIRST FORD IN SEVERAL YEARS/CARS AND THOUGH ORIGINALLY PLEASED WITH THE TRUCK, I AM QUICKLY BECOMING FRUSTRATED.
2013 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BRAKE FLUID LEAKS FROM BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER INTO BRAKE BOOSTER AND CAUSED BRAKE FAILURE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE AS DESCRIBED IN SAFETY RECALL FORE CERTAIN FORD F150 BREAKS. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT SHE AND HER WARRANTY COMPANY SHOULD REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS. THE BREAK MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED. *JS
WENT OUT TO TRUCK ONE AFTERNOON AND THE DRIVER SIDE BACK WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. NO PREVIOUS DAMAGE OR CRACKS. NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO VEHICLE OR MARKS ON WINDOW. WINDOW WAS BOWED SLIGHTLY OUTWARD WITH A "CRACK" GOING FROM ONE CORNER TO THE OTHER THROUGH THE SPIDER WEBBING. WEATHER HAS BEEN QUITE WARM RECENTLY, APPEARS TO BE A STRESS FRACTURE MOST LIKELY DUE TO TEMPERATURE.
UPON LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY WHICH IS ON A HILL I WENT TO APPLY MY BRAKES AND HAD NO RESPONSE, CAUSED ME TO GO OFF THE CURB. MY BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD TO OPERATE I WENT ON LINE AND DID SOME RESEARCH FOUND OUT ABOUT RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN RAINY CONDITIONS, WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRUCK ENGINE HESITATED THEN SHUTTERED AND NEARLY SHUT DOWN. THE CHECK ENGINE ILLUMINATED AND THIS CONTINUED FOR APPROXIMATELY A MINUTE. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON FOUR DIFFERENT SITUATIONS ALL AT 70-80 MPH WHILE TRYING TO PASS. IN ONE SITUATION, IT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ALSO HAVING THE TICKING AND SEVERE KNOCKING DURING ENGINE START FIRST TIME IN THE MORNING OR AFTER COLD SOAKING. FORD HAS REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUES ON THEIR OWN BECAUSE THE TRUCK HAS 63,000 MILES.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 FORD F-150 DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN I GOT AN AUDIBLE AND VISUAL WARNING ON MY DASHBOARD TELLING ME THAT MY BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW. I CLEARED THE MESSAGE AND NOTICED THAT A SMALLER RED "BRAKE INDICATOR" LIGHT REMAINED LIT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I TAPPED THE BRAKES TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE WORKING. THEY WERE WORKING. I IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN AND PROCEEDED RATHER CAUTIOUSLY EXITING THE HIGHWAY IN ROUTE TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, WHICH WAS NOT MORE THAN 1 MILE FROM THE END OF THE EXIT RAMP. AS I PROCEEDED TO THE DEALERSHIP I TESTED THE BRAKES MULTIPLE TIMES. ONCE I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP I PARKED THE F-150 IN A PARKIGN SPOT. AFTER CHECKING IN, THE TECHNICIAN ASKED ME TO PULL MY TRUCK INTO THE SERVICE BAY SO THAT HE COULD HAVE A LOOK AT IT. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE F-150 I CAUTIOUSLY BACKED OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT. AS I BEGAN TO BRAKE SO THAT I COULD SHIFT THE F-150 INTO DRIVE, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES. I QUICKLY APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND AVOIDED, BY JUST INCHES, CRACHING INTO THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND ASKED MY TEENAGE SON TO GET THE TECHNICIAN. THE TECHNICIAN PARKED THE F-150 BACK IN A PARKING SPOT AND I LEFT IT THERE FOR REPAIRS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL, A SQUEAKING NOISE WAS PRESENT FROM ALL FOUR WHEELS. THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VIBRATED. THE VEHICLE ALSO SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND APPEARED TO STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STALLING WAS DUE TO A FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER. THE DEALER CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,667.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS WOULD NOT UNLOCK AND COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN WITH THE REMOTE ACCESS FOB. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,400.
COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. THE WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR " LOW BRAKE FLUID" CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY FULL BRAKE FAILURE. TOWED TO DEALER- NOT INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL DATED MAY 25TH 2016. THE RESULT OF THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER. ALL PARTS BACK ORDERED. 2 WEEKS FOR THE BOOSTER AND 4TH QTR FOR THE MASTER CYLINDER. VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ON JULY 20TH 2013, JUST DAYS BEFORE THE DATED RECALL OF AUGUST 1ST 2013. OPEN A CASE WITH FMC. STATUS PENDING..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DEFROST WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD AND DEFROST MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE OF THE WINDOW DEFROSTER WOULD CAUSE THE REAR WINDSHIELD TO FRACTURE AND INJURE HIS TWO YOUNG CHILDREN WHO WERE TRANSPORTED IN CHILD SAFETY SEATS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V345000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. BRAKE ROTORS WERE TURNED AT 13000 MILES AGAIN AT 26000 & 34000. HAVE 38000 MILES ON VEHICLE NOW & HAVE SAME PROBLEM. MOST OF THESE MILES HAVE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY
ON OUR 2013 F150 ECOBOOST, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST IS AN ELECTRIC MOTOR THAT IS PRONE TO FAILURE. OURS FAILED AT 27,000 MILES. LOSING POWER STEERING IN A TURN COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WITHOUT IT. FURTHERMORE, THE DIFFERENTIAL OF EFFORT WOULD LEAD A PERSON TO BELIEVE THEIR STEERING FAILED COMPLETELY. THERE WAS NO REAL WARNING THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS ABOUT TO FAIL ASIDE FROM SOME CRYPTIC WARNING MESSAGES ON SEEMINGLY UNRELATED SYSTEMS.
WHILE DRIVING (ON HIGHWAY OR ELSEWHERE), V8 ENGINE WILL STALL AND STOP SUDDENLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. HAPPEN TO ME TWICE ON 2 DAYS. WON'T CREATE ANY FAULT IN THE OBD. FIRST TIME, HAPPEN TO ME ON THE HIGHWAY, I WAS VERY LUCKY NOT TO HAVE BEEN HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES. TOOK THE CAR TO FORD FARWAY IN GREENVILLE, SC, THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE CAR WILL ALWAYS START BACK AFTER 45 MIN TO AN HOUR. THEN WILL SHUT DOWN FOR NO REASON AGAIN. THIS IS A THREATENING WITH POTENTIAL DEATH SITUATION IF IT HAPPEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC... SO PLEASE, ASK FORD TO INVESTIGATE ALL V8 TO FIND QUICKLY THE REASON WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.
FIRST OF ALL MY TRUCK JUST NOW HIT 30,000 MILES. WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK 3 DAYS AGO IT GAVE US A DISPLAY MESSAGE OF 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' AND WE HAD NO POWER STEERING TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF, WAITED A MINUTE THEN BACK ON IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE STARTING. DID THE SAME THING OF TURNING OFF WAITING THEN BACK ON DIDN'T DO IT. BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND WHILE GOING DOWN THE STREET TO GET ABOUT 30MPH IT FAULTS AGAIN AND WE CAN'T STEER. STOP THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, THANKFULLY STILL IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND TURN IT BACK ON. MADE IT TO WORK. GOT IN TRUCK TO LEAVE WORK AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SAME PROCESS TURING IT OFF AND ON. GOT HOME. THEN AGAIN THIS MORNING IT HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE FAULT DISPLAY. TURNED IT OFF AND ON AGAIN. BUT THIS TIME IT DID IT TWICE IN A ROW. AND HAD TO BE TURNED OFF AGAIN. TOOK IT IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND NOTHING SHOWS UP!! OF COURSE!! DROVE TO WORK. HAD TO RUN AN ERRAND AND IT DID IT AGAIN WHEN I STARTED IT THEN AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET ABOUT 20MPH, THANKFULLY IT WASN'T TOO BUSY, I PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND TURNED TRUCK OFF AND ON AND FINISHED DRIVING. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY? DO I NEED TO CRASH AND KILL SOMEONE OR MY FAMILY AND KIDS TO GET A RECALL? THE 2014 IS RECALLED THAT USES SAME PARTS SO I'M NOT SURE WHY THESE AREN'T AS WELL. INCLUDED IS THE PICTURE TAKEN THIS MORNING WHEN IT DID IT AGAIN.
BRAKES FAILED WHILE 2013 ECCOBOOST 3.5L F-150 WAS PARKED. STEPPED ON BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO PRIOR INDICATION OF A PROBLEM. LOOKED AT MASTER CYLINDER FLUID LEVEL AND COMPLETELY EMPTY. NO BRAKES AT ALL, FRONT OR BACK. MOVED TRUCK TO FORD DEALER FOR REPAIR. DEALER DID NOT HAVE PARTS AND HAD TO SPECIAL ORDER THEM.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 FORD PLATINUM F-150 AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH GOING STRAIGHT ON A TOWN ROAD HEADING TO THE HIGHWAY, THE WRENCH SERVICE LIGHT CAME AND AND INSTANTLY PUTTING THE TRUCK INTO "LIMP" MODE ONLY ALLOWING ME TO DRIVE 5 MPH. I AM LUCKY NOT TO BE IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. I DID HAVE MY FAMILY WITH ME HEADING ON A 5 HOUR JOURNEY. COMPLETELY UNSAFE! AFTER A FEW RESTARTS THE SAME WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AND AGAIN THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE ALLOWING ME TO DRIVE 5MPH. THE GRIECO MA FORD DEALER SAID IT WAS A FAILED THROTTLE BODY, VEHICLE ONLY HAS 55K MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY AT THE AFOREMENTIONED FORD DEALER! I HOPE THIS SAFETY ISSUE GETS RECALLED SO NO ONE WILL EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE SITUATION LIKE I DID EVER AGAIN!
FROM THE FORD RECALL NOTICE 16S24 "BRAKE FUNCTION IN THE REAR WHEELS IS UNAFFECTED BY THIS CONDITION". WRONG! I EXPERIENCED THE LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING MESSAGE AND THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR IS ALSO THE SOURCE FOR THE REAR BRAKES. IN MY CASE, I HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE, PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD. BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER, IT WOULD NOT STOP AT ENGINE IDLE SPEED AND BROKE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR ON THE GARAGE DOOR OPENING. I AM HAVING THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALER. HATE TO THINK OF WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD I GOTTEN ON THE ROAD. THE RECALL NOTICE DOWNPLAYS THE SEVERITY OF THE CONDITION AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I CHECKED YES ON THE CRASH QUESTION BECAUSE OF THE COLLISION WITH THE GARAGE DOOR OPENING.
TAKING OFF FROM A START, VEHICLE ACTED LIKE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING, THEN SLAMMED BETWEEN 5TH GEAR AND 2ND GEAR REPEATEDLY, AND ENTERED LIMP HOME MODE. SEPARATE INSTANCE: WHEN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE ON TWO-LANE ROAD, FULL THROTTLE, VEHICLE SLAMMED INTO 2ND GEAR AND ENTERED LIMP HOME MODE WHILE I WAS IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC, FORCING ME TO ABORT THE PASS. BOTH TIMES, IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, I HAD TO PULL OVER, STOP THE VEHICLE, TURN IGNITION OFF, AND RE-START THE VEHICLE.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY CONTINUES TO FAIL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP MODE.THIS HAS OCCURRED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE FIRST WAS IN JULY OF 2016. REPLACED THE ETB THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP. IT IS NOW FAILING AGAIN.
I HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. MASTER CYLINDER LEAKED INTO THE BOOSTER. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE PART OF THE EXISTING RECALL, BUT MY BUILD DATE OF 10/2012 WAS NOT INCLUDED.
THIS IS A LARIAT MODEL F-150 WITH LESS THAN 36K MILES. THE EVAPORATOR IS LEAKING AND REQUIRES THE COMPLETE DASHBOARD TO BE PULLED IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE EVAPORATOR AT A COST OF $1,700.THIS POOR DESIGN ALONG WITH POOR PRODUCTION SHOULD BE COVERED BY FORD DUE TO MODEL TYPE AND AMOUNT OF MILES.
IN THE SPAN OF ONE WEEK THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WENT INTO "LIMP MODE", ON THREE (3) SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE CONSOLE DISPLAY GOES ORANGE, WITH A WRENCH. TWO OF THE INSTANCES OCCURRED AT STEADY SPEED GREATER THAN 50 MPH. ONE EVENT WAS WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THROUGH A RIGHT TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR SERVICE. NO OBD CODES WERE STORED AND THE EVENTS CANNOT BE REPLICATED AFTER A WEEK OF TESTING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD! THE VEHICLE MUST BE STOPPED IN ORDER TO SHUT IT DOWN AND RESTART, WHERE THE DISPLAY CLEARS AND IT RUNS NORMALLY UNTIL WITHOUT WARNING, IT OCCURS AGAIN. FORD DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE AN ANSWER. PANIC COULD EASILY ENSUE FORM THIS LOSS OF POWER AND THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE & DEATH.

TRAVELING HIGHWAY AT APPROX. 60 MPH WHEN TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED TO LOWER GEAR CAUSING REAR WHEELS TO JUMP UNTIL TRUCK COULD BE STOPPED. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. AFTER BRIEF PERIOD, STARTED TRUCK AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWHILE NORMALLY. TRUCK DID THE SAME THING AGAIN AND I PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF AGAIN. LET STAND FOR AWHILE, THEN STARTED VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. TOOK THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE "THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY AS POSSIBLE CAUSE". MY TRUCK HAD JUST RECENTLY GONE OUT OF WARRANTY PERIOD PER DEALERSHIP, AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I HAVE NOT HAD THE PROBLEM SINCE THIS FIX (APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS AGO) HOWEVER I AM TAKING IT IN FOR RECALL TO UPDATE SOFTWARE SPECIFICALLY FOR FAILURE OF OSS. MY TRUCK IS A 2013 F150 4X4 CREW CAB WITH ECHO BOOST 3.5L ENGINE.

THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED THE TRUCK EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. MY FOOT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKES. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY WHEN WE PARKED THE VEHICLE. WE REPLACED THE BRAKE FLUID BACK INTO THE MASTER CYLINDER AND WITHIN TWO MINUTES OF PUMPING THE BRAKES THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS EMPTY AND THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. WE INVESTIGATED UNDER THE VEHICLE BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY SIGN OF THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKING UNDER THE TRUCK. WE USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND BROUGHT IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP.
I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE BRAKES FAILING TO STOP THE VEHICLE DUE TO A DEFECT IN THE MASTER CYLINDER. WHEN I CALL THE FORD DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK, I WAS ADVISED THAT THEY DON'T HAVE "FIX" FOR THE PROBLEM YET, BUT MAY HAVE THAT BY THE END OF THE YEAR. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND YET FORD HAS NO REPAIR FOR IT? HOW ABOUT THEY PAY ME BACK AND I BUY A CHEVY? I DON'T OPERATE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE BRAKE RECALL.
I WAS IN A PARKING LOT BACKING OUT OF MY SPOT. WITH NO WARNING LIGHT OR ANY PREVIOUS WARNING, MY BREAK SYSTEM WENT OUT. ACCELERATING IN REVERSE AND BREAKS TO THE FLOOR, MY TRUCK JUST CONTINUED TO SPEED UP. I SLAMMED MY CAR IN PARK AND THE TRUCK SHUT OFF. IT WAS NOT UNTIL THAT MOMENT THAT A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON STATING LOW BRAKE FLUID. I COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE IN THIS PARKING LOT. FORD TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT IN AND THEY WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT IT. I HAD TO TOW IT IN MYSELF AND THEY CLAIMED THE WARNING LIGHT WAS ON PREVIOUS TO ME PUTTING MY CAR IN REVERSE (WHICH IS WRONG) BUT THEY REPLACED MY BREAK SYSTEM FOR ME (WITH THE SAME FAILING SYSTEM). I STILL HAVE NO FAITH IN MY BREAKS AND MY TRUCK HAS NEVER DROVE THIS POORLY. EVERYTHING ON IT SQUEAKS (PROBABLY FROM SLAMMING IT IN PARK TO AVOID RUNNING PEOPLE OVER). THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL!!!
ON JULY 7 2013 I EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR STATE ROUTE. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED. WHEN I CALLED THIS TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION, THE SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL. THIS VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES AND COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT HAD I NOT KNOWN HOW TO CONTROL A VEHICLE WITH NO BRAKES. I'D LIKE A REFUND IN FULL OF $572.48 THAT THE DEALER CHARGED ME FOR THE REPAIR.
POWER STEERING MADE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED FULLY TO THE LEFT. A WARNING REGARDING THE STABILITRACK SYSTEM APPEARED ON THE DASH. SUBSEQUENTLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET POWER STEERING ASSIST STOPPED, RESULTING IN VERY DIFFICULT STEERING. MY MECHANIC SCANNED THE COMPUTER AND FOUND THAT THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR FAILED.
THE TRUCK WILL NOT CRANK AT TIMES. VEHICLE STATIONARY, IT WILL MAKE NO SOUND, OR MOVEMENT, MOTOR DOES NOT TURN.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 FORD F150 WITH ECOBOOST, THE ENGINE CUTS OUT AND I LOSE POWER. THE WRENCH SYMBOL COMES ON. THE TRUCK STAYS RUNNING BUT YOU CAN'T ACCELERATE. THE TRUCK STARTS TO VIBRATE. IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THERE'S NO WARNING AND NO PATTERN AS TO WHEN IT HAPPENS. IT HAPPENS AT BOTH SLOW AND FAST SPEEDS. YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THEN WHEN YOU RESTART IT, IT WORKS AGAIN. THERE'S NO PATTERN AS TO HOW LONG IT WILL WORK. SOMETIMES IT CUTS OUT IMMEDIATELY AND SOMETIMES WEEKS LATER. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER TWICE. ONCE THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. THAT PROVED TO BE A TEMPORARY FIX BECAUSE IT DID IT AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER. THE NEXT TIME THEY RESET THE PCM. THAT ONLY WORKED FOR A FEW WEEKS. I HAVE A THIRD APPOINTMENT COMING UP. BUT I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE THEY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR HOW TO FIX IT. THEY WILL JUST KEEP TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS UNTIL THEY FIND THE ISSUE. IT'S OBVIOUSLY AN ENGINE MANUFACTURER ISSUE AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY. THIS TRUCK IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I AM A STAY AT HOME DAD AND I TRANSPORT MY KIDS IN THIS TRUCK. WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC WHEN IT STALLED 6 TIMES. THREE OF THOSE 6 TIMES WE WERE ALMOST HIT. I BELIEVE FORD WILL TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS MESS UNTIL SOMEONE ACTUALLY DIES IN AN ACCIDENT.
AT TIMES WHEN TURNING LEFT THE POWER STEERING WILL JUST STOP. HAVE TO FORCE IT BACK TO CENTER. SOMETIMES DRIFTS TO LEFT ALSO. THIS IS COVERED BY A RECALL FOR 2014 BUT NOT 2013 AND THEY USE THE SAME PARTS.
RECEIVED DASH MESSAGES STATING "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" AND "HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT" RESULTING IN INOP FULL DETENT TURN SIGNALS, YET 3-BLINK LANE CHANGE RETAINED FUNCTION. STEERING ANGLE DASH READOUT REMAINED INOP REGARDLESS OF STEERING INPUT. RETURNED VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. ECO BOOST BRAKE RECALL. LOST ALL BRAKING WITH NO WARNING ON FREEWAY. NO ACCIDENT OR INJURY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE THROTTLE WAS LOST. THE TRUCK WENT FROM 65 MPH TO 5 MPH IN A MATTER OF A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF TRYING TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, GOING ONLY 5 MPH, THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP, AND THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, NOR WOULD IT SHOW UP IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. TOOK IT HOME, AND LATER THAT EVENING, IT LOST THE THROTTLE AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP THE NEXT DAY AFTER LOOKING AT THIS WEBSITE, AND TOLD THEM TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY TO SEE IF THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. HAVEN'T HAD ANY OTHER ISSUES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT COULD CAUSE A WRECK OR LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. IT COST ME OVER $300 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. FORD SHOULD REALLY ISSUE A RECALL SINCE MANY VEHICLES HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE.

I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE STORE THIS MORNING AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. WHEN I LEFT THE STORE AND STARTED THE VEHICLE I GOT A MESSAGE THAT SAID BRAKE FLUID IS LOW AND WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE. I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. I GOT IT TO STOP HOWEVER WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE AGAIN IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. I THEN TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND CALLED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP (IT ONLY HAS 11000 MILES ON IT) AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS LEAKING FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER.
RECEIVED POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND WAS UNABLE TO TURN VEHICLE. SEARCHING ONLINE FORD HAS RECALLED OLDER MODELS OF THE F150 BUT THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING ON SEVERAL FORD MODELS. THIS IS A SERIOUS, SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. FURTHER FORD IS SCREWING CUSTOMERS OVER BY NOT RECALLING THESE VEHICLES AND MAKING CUSTOMERS REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING RACK AT A COST OF ALMOST $2000.00 AT MINIMUM THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN EXTENDED WARRANTIES WHICH IT IS NOT. VEHICLE WAS REVERSING OUT OF MY GARAGE WHEN THE FAULT OCCURRED AND IT CANNOT BE RESET. THE VEHICLE IS NOW INOPERABLE.
THROTTLE WAS COMPLETELY LOST. TRUCK WOULD ONLY RUN AROUND 5 MPH MAXIMUM. WOULD NOT TAKE THROTTLE AT ALL. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHEN IN A HIGH TRAFFIC AND MULTI LANE SETTING WHERE ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES ARE RUNNING AT HIGH SPEEDS. IT IS ALSO VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING A 7000 LB TRAILER WITH NO OR EXTREMELY LIMITED PULL OFFS FOR EMERGENCIES SUCH AS THIS. IT CREATES A VERY REAL POSSIBILITY OF DEATH. THIS OCCURRED ON A LOCAL ROAD IN FITZGERALD, GA TRAVELING STRAIGHT WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC CONDITIONS FORTUNATELY. I DROVE THE TRUCK IN TO FITZGERALD FORD FROM ABOUT 3 TO 4 MILES AWAY AT THE ABOVE MENTIONED SPEED. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY, AND IT WAS REPLACED AT A COST TO ME OF $248.12. MY WIFE'S CAR ALSO HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE EXACT SAME PART. IT WAS REPLACED BY THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND PAID FOR BY US. MY WIFE [XXX] SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVED CORRESPONDENCE FROM FORD THAT INDICATED THE THROTTLE BODY WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED, AND THAT COST THAT WE PREVIOUSLY PAID WAS REFUNDED TO US. WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT WAS TOWED TO WEHR FORD IN MOUNTAIN GROVE, MO WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THERE HAD BEEN A RASH OF DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODIES AND AT LEAST 2000 WERE ON BACK ORDER ACROSS THE COUNTRY. HE POINTED OUT ANOTHER VEHICLE ON HIS LOT WHICH HAD BEEN THERE FOR TWO WEEKS WAITING FOR ONE. HE SAID HE COULD GET A USED ONE FROM A WRECKING YARD. SINCE WE LIVE IN AZ AND HAD TO GET HOME WE SAID OK. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE AND FORD SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON THESE.
