When on interstate or main road it shifts from 6th gear to first gear called Ford they said there is no recalls for my vehicle it shifts down so hard that my back tires slide without warning it is a danger
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the lead frame sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 160,000.
Three times in the past couple of weeks, my vehicle has lost power at high speed. Once when I was trying to merge and again while just driving at high speed and giving it gas to avoid a situation in front of me. The first time it happened, the gauges in the fuel economy mode screen stopped working, including the speedometer, giving the vehicle Gas did nothing but rev the engine up like it was in neutral. I coasted to a parking lot on my trucks own forward momentum, shut the vehicle off restarted the vehicle. The gauges were working again, and the transmission seemed to be working as well. The second time it happened to me was while I was driving and it did the exact same thing, but I did not have to pull over to restart the vehicle. It started working again suddenly, at that time, the gauges were working. My husband was on the highway trying to pass another vehicle when he gave it gas, the truck suddenly lost all power, the transmission sounded like it was in neutral revving up due to giving it gas. Then just as suddenly it slammed really hard back into gear with a loud boom, so hard in fact, he thought he was hit from behind and was jerked forward in the vehicle violently. I contacted the dealership who works on our car and was told without a check engine light or a code there’s nothing they can do but to bring it there when it does that. The problem occurs intermittently and corrects before we can get to the dealership. I told the Ford dealership about the recall on the six speed transmission, 19S07, and was told that recall was taken care of in 2019 at Auffenburg Ford where we bought the vehicle. What is going on now is exactly the description of that recall, but because there are no active recalls for my vehicle the dealership does not want to even look at the vehicle. I and my husband or another driver could have been killed with high speed power loss like this. How do I get this recall re-added so the dealership will do something before a fatality?
Truck dropped into lower gears without notice from high speed (and at low speeds). Engine revs and actually speeds up without foot on gas pedal without warning. Speedometer will stop working when this happens also. Almost caused accident. Other similar vehicles from 2013-2019 are in recall for similar issues. Ford won't fix and says it is not an issue for this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted from sixth gear to first gear. The speedometer and RPM fell to zero. The accelerator pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The check engine and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The wrench symbol was displayed. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and confirmed there was no warranty coverage for the failure. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 140,300.
I was driving on [XXX] in Georgia. I was going around 75 mph and my transmission dropped from 6th gear to 1st Gear my speed dropped from around 75 mph to 25 mph in less than a second. My safety and the safety of other vehicles/people were put in danger, I almost lost control of my steering and hit somebody in the right lane next to me. Three Vehicles behind me had to slam on their brakes and swerve around me to avoid rear ending me. When the vehicles transmission dropped gears rapidly, at the same time I got a gear wrench symbol across my cluster display, and I lost functionality of the vehicles mph gauge and gas gauge. The fasten seatbelt light was also on but no audible warning tone was heard.. The vehicle also lost acceleration power. I was able to get the vehicle home and turned the car on and off and everything went back to normal. This is an intermittent issue with no warning when it will happen. There was a recall from ford for a programming issue with the tranny and currently a CSP with campaign #19N01 for a Transmission molded leadframe extended coverage. Basically the lead frame needs to be replaced to correct the problem which is 4,000 to 6,000 dollars. Ford will not fix my lead frame because I am past certain dates and over the mileage by 2,200 miles. I also needed to be displaying symptoms and the code for ford to fix the issue if I was within dates and mileage. I didn’t display any codes or symptoms until I was 2,200 miles over the CSP warranty coverage. I also just bought the truck in September of 2024 and was not aware of this issue. I can’t express enough how dangerous going from 75 mph to 25 mph in a second on a busy freeway is. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This is on my 2013 Ford F150 XLT 5.0 Engine with 6R80 Transmission: While driving on a highway or city streets, the vehicle will drop down gears, a wrench light on dash will display, the airbag light will illuminate, the speedometer will quit working and the engine will be gone. Also on the third time this happened, the check engine light will come on with Code P0720, Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit fault. Ford has known about this problem and has issued TSB's. It is related to a faulty Transmission Molded Lead Frame. This is a safety issue and Ford needs to replace this without limits on time or mileage. See TSB 16-0008
My wife was driving my truck and the gear light came on the dash. The truck went into limp mode in the middle of traffic and about caused her to get hit from behind. I took the truck to Long Lewis Ford in Prattville Alabama and was told that I was a year out of warranty for the recall that is on the transmission for my truck. Ford knows they had issues with 2013 F150's but now they do not want to fix my transmission. So I have to spend $800 to 1k on fixing my transmission when Ford knew they have an issue and are willing to let people drive unsafe vehicles.

Due to an unresolved issue that Ford motor company is aware of with the Transmission “Molded Lead Frame” the truck will drop down into 1st gear from highway speeds and causes a huge safety concern if there should be someone traveling behind me. The speedometer will stop working as well as the mileage will disappear off the screen/all other information will go blank. I will have to stop the truck, turn it off and back on again and it will drive normal. When I bring to dealer; they state ford should be covering this issue: when I contact ford I am offered no assistance or remedies. They referred me to bring this safety issue to your attention. It is very concerning and I cannot afford another car at the moment.

The faulty output shaft speed sensor (OSS) causes a signal loss between the sensor and the powertrain control module (PCM), leading to a sudden downshift into first gear, regardless of the vehicle's speed. This sudden downshift can cause the rear tires to slide, potentially leading to a loss of control and an increased risk of a crasH. There is already a recall for the 2014 Models and my 2013 is having the exact same issue.
My vehicle's transmission is suddenly downshifting and should be included in the recall

Truck would not shift out of first gear after coming to a stop and then accelerating. I had to pull over, shut truck off and restart truck. This has occurred 3 times in 2 days. Noticed wrench light came on indicating a problem. Hooked to code reader and got codes po722 (output shaft speed sensor circuit no signal) and code b00a0 (occupant classification system). After doing some research I found that Ford has had some recalls and service problems with this same issue. I was never notified by Ford of any recalls or service issues with this vehicle. I only found out after doing research on what the codes meant and how to try and fix the issues. The engine could have blown up from running high rpm’s because it wouldn’t shift. After reading other people’s experiences with this same issue I am extremely concerned for the safety of myself and others that this issue could cause a serious accident. The first occurrence was 12/19/24 and then again 12/20/24. I plan to take the truck to a repair shop as soon as I can get an appointment. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

ADDITION TO COMPLAINT #11630474 DID RESEARCH ON VIN TO FIND OUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE SAFETY RECALL.
Driving along and then I get a quick illuminated wrench symbol which disappears. All the dash information disappears but the tach still worked but the speedometer stopped working but an illuminated airbag symbol came on and stayed light. The truck was sluggish and didn’t want to shift were it should have. This first time this happened on Oct 29, 2014 then again Dec 9, 2014. The mileage on my 2013 Ford F-150 truck with the 6R89 transmission and has 133, 657. I know this is related to the Molded Leadframe in the transmission because I was notified by Ford in May 2019 and they said it could be fixed for free as long as there were trouble codes (P-0720 and P-0722) if not they wouldn’t cover it. There was a warranty extension but for 10 yrs or 150,000 miles which ever comes first. I called Ford customer service on Dec 11, 2024. Long story short the guy said he was sorry I was having this issue but the extended warranty expired last year. I bought the truck new in Dec 2013. I said it’s still a safety issue so they should still cover it but he said no because of the time gram even though I was under the 150,000.
Vehicle would not start and left me stranded. There seems to be a known problem with the fuse opening on the ignition system that is contributed to poor engineering on Fords part. There is a bulletin within Ford on repair. This is a tremendous safety problem.
Trying to take off from a parking spot the truck would not shift from first gear. The exact same thing has happened about four or five more time since the first always in the same manner. One time it shifted into third gear and stuck there. When this happens the dash cluster does not read anything. it just shows what gear it is in. No rpm, no speed.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and shifted out of gear independently. Vehicle was going around 55 mph and dropped out of gear and into limp mode or 1st gear. Happened yesterday as well around 55 mph with cruise control on. Used a scan tool and no codes given.
