TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE ENGINE WARNING ILLUMINATED. APPROXIMATELY 15 SECONDS THE VEHICLE RESPONDED AND ACCELERATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,300. DA
WE HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION AND MOTOR (ECO BOOST 6-CYLINDER) THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY, THE VEHICLE LURCHES AND HAS A LACK OF POWER/ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND EXPERIENCES THESE PROBLEMS BOTH IN CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE NHTSA HAS HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINT AND FORD HAS RECEIVED OVER 4000. THE LAST TIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEIR EXPLANATION WAS: "CANNOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT" THIS PLATFORM IS FAULTY AND SOMEHOW FORD HAS BEEN ABLE TO KEEP IT OFF THE RADAR. APPARENTLY FORD DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT AND CONTINUES TO DENY THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM.

DAA GO FIGURE NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC IS WHAT I WAS TOLD, BULL BUTTER IF I HAD BEEN AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS OF THESE TRUCKS I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT, YOU THINK? AND SO DID THE DEALER SLOAN FORD ALONG WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY. MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE IN DALLAS. THE VEHICLE WAS A 2013 FORD F150 ECOBOOST. IT WAS TOWARDS THE END OF MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND WENT TO PASS AN 18-WHEELER. I ACCELERATED TO PASS IT, WHEN THE ENTIRE TRUCK STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING. THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AND THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER. THE TRUCKS ENGINE WAS UNABLE MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND I FEARED WE WOULD BE STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. WE WERE ABLE TO LIMP IT OFF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENTS. FORTUNATELY THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN ON A TWO LANE ROAD WHILE ATTEMPTED TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TR
UPON ACCELERATION TO PASS ON FREEWAY, ENGINE SHUDDERS AND LOSES POWER. TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED TO TRY TO RECOVER, BUT ENGINE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THROTTLE PRESS. HAD TO BACK OFF ON THROTTLE AND MOVE TO RIGHT LANE ALL THE WHILE THINKING TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE SHOULDER. VERY SCARY WHEN TRYING TO PASS AND NO POWER. LUCKILY I WAS NOT REAR ENDED FOR SLOWING DOWN SO FAST! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY DECELERATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,400.
I WAS MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY WHILE IT WAS RAINING. IN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE IN FRONT OF A SEMI MY VEHICLE STATED SHUTTERING VIOLENTLY AND LOST POWER. I COULD NOT GET PAST 40MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THIS WAS AFTER THE TRUCK HAD BEEN RUNNING FOR TWO HOURS. THE SEMI ALMOST REAR ENDED ME AS I GOT OFF THE ROAD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND IT RAN FINE AFTER THAT. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO MY DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, NOT EVEN AN ERROR CODE. THE TRUCK HAS A FORD 6 CYLINDER ECO BOOST ENGINE. *TR
MY FAMILY WAS DRIVING HOME FROM A TRIP ON THE INTERSTATE IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE TRIP. ON TWO OR THREE DIFFERENT OCCURRENCES, WHEN ACCELERATING TO PASS OR MERGE, THE TRUCK ENGINE SHUDDERED AND FAILED TO PROVIDE POWER NECESSARY TO ACCELERATE. NEVER DID IT COMPLETELY STALL, BUT THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE SHUDDERING OF THE ENGINE AND THE TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS RIDING OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT. I HAD READ ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE IN THE F150 (UNFORTUNATELY AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK) BUT HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED IT UNTIL YESTERDAY. WHEN I FELT THE SHUDDERING OF THE ENGINE, I EASED OFF THE GAS AND GENTLY REAPPLIED AS I HAD HEARD ABOUT INSTANCES OF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLING WHEN PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR. IF IT WOULD HAVE STALLED LAST NIGHT ON THE INTERSTATE, IN STORMY WEATHER, LATE AT NIGHT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SCARY AND VERY DANGEROUS INCIDENT. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER TODAY AND ASKED HIM ABOUT SERVICE BULLETINS, RECALLS, OR POSSIBLE FIXES, HE ACTED LIKE HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THE ISSUE BEFORE... *TR
THE TRUCK WHEELS LOCKED UP AND ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, COMING TO A VERY SUDDEN STOP. TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. DURING THIS MALFUNCTION THE TRUCK IS COMPLETELY UNCONTROLLABLE. THIS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES AND WAS AT A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING, IT WAS RETURNED TO US. THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME CAUSING AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE TRUCK HIT A GUARD RAIL.
REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, REDUCED POWER, AND POOR GAS MILEAGE. THE 2013 FORD F150 XLT CREW CAB WITH 3.5 V6 ECOBOOST HAS HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARING AT ENGINE STARTUP OR WHILE DRIVING AT CITY OR HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CEL STAYS ON FOR SEVERAL DAYS THEN DISAPPEARS. IF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON THE ENGINE GOES INTO LIMP MODE WITH REDUCED POWER AND GETS EXTREMELY POOR GAS MILEAGE OF 11 MPG. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED BY 2 DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS 7 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE LAST SERVICE TOOK 13 DAYS 12/20/2013-1/3/2014. A CASE WAS OPENED WITH FORD ON 12/14/2013 AND ASSIGNED TO A FORD REGIONAL REP. FORD REFUSES TO BUY BACK THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE AND ASKS THAT THE TRUCK BE TAKEN BACK TO A FORD DEALERSHIP UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN THAT THE DRIVER WILL THINK THERE IS AN ENGINE PROBLEM, BRAKE OR REDUCE SPEED AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER DURING CEL IS A SAFETY RISK. COPIES OF SHOP INVOICES AND CASE NUMBER FROM FORD ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. *TR
THE VEHICLE HEATER KICKS OUT OF RECIRCULATION MODE AFTER 5 OR 10 MINUTES. THIS OFTEN BRINGS OUTSIDE AUTO FUMES INTO THE VEHICLE. IN ORDER TO STOP THE FUMES AND USE RECIRC AGAIN YOU HAVE TO PUSH THAT BUTTON, TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD. THE DEALER SAYS TO USE 'MAX AIR' BUT THAT RESULTS IN HOT AIR BLOWING IN YOUR FACE. BOTH SITUATIONS REQUIRE DISTRACTED DRIVING, A SAFETY RISK. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE RECIRC MODE TO REMAIN AS LONG AS I WANT. *TR
RAINING MOST OF THE DAY, I EXITED I-29 ON TO ST 46, WHEN I TRIED TO PASS A CAR, THE ENGINE PRETTY MUCH SHUT DOWN AND BEGAN VIBORATING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND LET IT IDLE FOR A BIT. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN 2 DAYS LATER ON I-90. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I'M LUCKY TRAFFIC WAS VERY LIGHT AT THE TIME. *TR
I TOOK MY 2013 FORD F-150 WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE ON A WEEK LONG VACATION DOWN TO SOUTH TEXAS (APPROX. 1200 MILES OR 17.5 HOURS ONE WAY) IT WAS SUNNY AND WARM THE ENTIRE TRIP DOWN AND THE VEHICLE RAN GREAT. HOWEVER ON THE WAY BACK UP TO IOWA IN WAS RAINING AS SOON AS WE LEFT AND ONLY LET UP RAINING FOR 20 MIN INCREMENTS THE ENTIRE WAY HOME. ABOUT 5 HOURS IN WE PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE TO GET GAS AND EAT. WE GOT BACK IN THE VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO GET ON THE ON RAMP AND RETURN TO THE INTERSTATE. I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 MPH WITH SMOOTH ACCELERATION WHEN I GAVE MY TRUCK A LITTLE BIT OF GAS TO MERGE INTO THE 75MPH TRAFFIC. MY TRUCK DID NOT MOVE, INSTEAD IT CONTINUED TO GO 40MPH AND REVVED UP TO REDLINE. I HAD TO LET OFF OF THE GAS COMPLETELY AND PUT MY FOOT BACK ON IT AND SLOWLY CLIMB UP TO 65MPH. THE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING HORRIBLY AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH. AFTER ABOUT 45 SECONDS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STOPPED FLASHING AND THE ENGINE STOPPED SHAKING. I THEN COULD MAKE VERY SLIGHT SPEED INCREMENTS. I COULD NOT HOWEVER STEP ON THE GAS TO PASS SOMEBODY WITHOUT THE TRUCK REVVING UP TO REDLINE AND SHAKING AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I TRIED TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY THE REST OF THE WAY BACK (12.5 HOURS). THE TRUCK RUNS GREAT UNTIL IT IS INTRODUCED TO 70MPH INTERSTATE DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. *TR
F150 2013 ECOBOOST. TRUCK AS A VIBRATION AT THE SPEED OF 25 TO 30MPH AND AGAIN AT 40 TO 50MPH AND AGAIN AT 55MPH. IF YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL A LITTLE MORE THE VIBRATION STOPS OR IF YOU RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL THE VIBRATION STOPS AS WELL, (ONLY ON THOSE SPEEDS) I' TAKEN THE TRUCK 5 TO 6 TIMES TO THE DEALER AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT IS NORMAL. *TR
3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE. WENT TO MERGE ON HIGHWAY, PRESSED ACCELERATOR, ENGINE STUMBLED, PRESSED FURTHER ON ACCELERATOR, ENGINE STUMBLED, LOSS OF POWER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING, VIOLENT SHAKING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO SAFE SPEED ON -RAMP, LIGHT WENT OUT AFTER A PERIOD OF 1 - 2 MINUTES. HAD TO PULL OFF SIDE OF ROAD TO AVOID TRAFFIC AS I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS WAS THE SECOND INCIDENT FOR THIS TRUCK. FORD ENGINEERING TO MY SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THERE WAS NO FIX BUT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE SATURATED WITH BRAKE FLUID. THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED AT APPROXIMATELY 18,000, 21,000, 35,000, 50,000, AND 65,000 MILES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F- 150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAGS SENSOR FAILED TO ENGAGE WHENEVER HIS WIFE SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,100. UPDATED 12/23/13*LJ ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE DEALER STATED THERE WERE NO CODES, SO THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FORD F-150 ECOBOOST LOSS OF POWER. - TRYING TO PASS A SEMI ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE STUMBLED AFTER A DOWNSHIFT, LOST POWER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED, AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHUDDER. TRIED TO PULL OFF OF SIDE OF ROAD BUT ONCE I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE MEDIAN, THE LIGHT STOPPED FLASHING AND THE SHUDDER WENT AWAY AS DID THE LIGHT. IT WAS IN THE MID 60S, I HAD TRAVELED ABOUT 120 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH IN OHIO ON I-75 SOUTH OF TOLEDO. IT HAD BEEN RAINING OFF AND ON ALL DAY. *TR
WHILE TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE TRUCK UP TO THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC FLOW.I HAD NO RESPONSE FROM THE ENGINE FOR APPROX 1 TO 2 SECONDS. THIS PUT ME IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS I HAD TO GET ON THE BRAKES HARD TO SLOW THE VEHICLE ON THE ON RAMP TO KEEP FROM GETTING HIT BY THE FASTER TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. IN ADDITION THE TRAFFIC BEHIND ME HAD TO RAPIDLY SLOW DOWN TO KEEP FROM HITTING ME.WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY 30 SEPT 2013. THIS WAS RUIDOSO FORD IN RUIDOSO NEW MEXICO. THEY CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH IT AND THAT THEY KNEW OF NO OTHER PROBLEMS OF THIS TYPE ON 2013 F-150 FX-4 PICKUP TRUCKS. I AM STILL IN THE TALKING STAGES WITH THEM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AS I FEEL THEY HAVE MADE LITTLE EFFORT TO SOLVE IT AND THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE INDICATES THAT FORD MOTOR CORPORATION IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. (THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I THOUGHT THAT AFTER THE BREAK IN PERIOD, AS THE TRUCK WAS NEW WHEN PURCHASED THIS PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY BUT IT HAS NOT. I PURCHASED MY TRUCK BRAND NEW IN APRIL OF 2013. IT IS A 2013 FORD F-150 FX4 SUPER CREW ECOBOOST. MONDAY (9-23-13) I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE I-75 AT APPROX. 70MPH, I HIT THE ACCELERATOR TO PASS A VEHICLE AND WHEN I DID, MY TRUCK DROPPED DOWN TO 2ND OR 3RD GEAR, BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY, LOST POWER (HP), AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE TRUCK AND WAITED A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND PROCEEDED ON MY DRIVE HOME. I DROVE ONE MORE HOUR, STOPPED IN TAMPA FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS, THEN GOT BACK ON I-75. ONE AND A HALF HOURS LATER, IT DID THE SAME THING AT 60MPH THIS TIME. THIS TRUCK IS KNOWN FOR THIS ISSUE. THE INTERCOOLER SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM. MY TRUCK NOW HAS 9500 MILES ON IT. WHAT'S UPSETTING IS THAT THIS IS THE 2ND TIME MY TRUCK HAS DONE THIS. THE FIRST TIME OCCURRED ON JULY 15, 2013 WITH 5,100 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP KEPT MY TRUCK FOR 4 DAYS AND REPLACED THE INTERCOOLER, ASSURING ME THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED (WHICH IT WASN'T, AS MY TRUCK REPEATED THE ISSUE YESTERDAY, EVEN WITH THE REPLACEMENT PART). THERE ARE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS MODEL TRUCK HAVING THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, AS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME, I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT HEAD-ON BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC (BECAUSE THE VEHICLE TOTALLY LOSES ALL POWER, NO ACCELERATION). *JS
I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD 150 SUPERCREW CAB 4X4 WITH THE 3.5L V6 MOTOR 4 WEEKS AGO. ALL HAS BEEN WELL UNTIL THE FIRST RAIN LAST WEEK. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY BEHIND A SLOW VEHICLE, I WENT TO PASS THEY VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME ON A FOUR LANE FREEWAY, AND MY TRUCK STUMBLED AND LOST POWER INSTANTLY AS I PUT MY FOOT DOWN. I HAD MYSELF, WIFE, AND TWO CHILDREN 1 AND 2.5 IN THE TRUCK. IT WAS VERY SCARY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND WITH NO POWER AS SAFELY AS I COULD I MOVED BACK INTO THE SLOW LANE OF TRAFFIC AND OFF THE FREEWAY AROUND OTHER PASSING VEHICLES. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS. I HAVE 2,400 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I TURNED IT OFF. RESTARTED AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. IT RAN FINE, I SCAREDLY PULLED BACK ON FREEWAY AND WENT 50 MPH TO MY DESTINATION. I REPORTED ISSUE TO FORD AND TOOK TRUCK IN. NO ISSUE IS SHOWN AND VEHICLE IS RUNNING FINE. THEY KEPT MY VEHICLE OVERNIGHT TO DIAGNOSE NO ISSUE. HELP! PLEASE! *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT 48-50- MPH WHEN I DECIDED TO PASS A CEMENT TRUCK THAT WAS GOING BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT. AS I PULLED OUT TO PASS THE TRUCK EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. WHEN I GOT ALONGSIDE THE CEMENT TRUCK MY TRUCK STARTED TO HESITATE AND MISFIRE. THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I WAS STUCK FROM GOING BACK AS ANOTHER CAR WAS BEHIND ME,ALSO TRYING TO PASS THE SLOW TRUCK. I BARELY MADE IT PAST THE CEMENT TRUCK AS AN ONCOMING VEHICLE HAD TO SWERVE INTO THE SHOULDER TO MISS ME AND THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I LOOKED UP ECOBOOST PROBLEMS ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND NUMEROUS OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS INJURED OR KILLED TODAY, I BELIEVE THE IT WILL ONLY BE A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THERE IS A FATALITY IF THERE HASN'T BEEN ONE ALREADY. *TR
THE ECOBOOST ENGINE LOOSES POWER ON TAKE OFF IN RAINY WEATHER. I HAS HAPPENED SIX TIMES. THE MOST RECENT WAS THIS MORNING 04/07/14. THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE TRUCK IS TAKING OFF FROM A STOP, SUCH AS TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. THE MAIN PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE RAIN. AFTER DRIVING IN RAINY WEATHER FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME THE TRUCK WILL NOT TAKE OFF FROM A DEAD STOP. THE ENGINE LOOSES POWER AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY. THIS MORNING WHILE TAKING ME DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL WE PULLED INTO TRAFFIC AND TRIED TO GET UP TO SPEED. THE ENGINE FAILED AND WE HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. IT WAS NOT RAINING THIS MORNING BUT I DID DRIVE FOR SEVERAL HOURS IN THE RAIN YESTERDAY. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY TELL ME MY TUCK ALREADY HAS THE FIX FROM FORD. *TR
SHUDDER/MISFIRE. THE MISFIRE OCCURS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS GOING UPHILL OR ON A FLAT SURFACE. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT FORD DEALER SHIP WHO IS TRYING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERS TECH THE MISFIRE CAN OCCURS AT LOW RPMS. NEW SPARK PLUG COILS AND THREE SETS OF NEW SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. APPARENTLY IT KEEPS BLOWING SPARK PLUGS.AS OF YET NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND TO THE PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE ENTERING I-275 AFTER A FOOTBALL GAME, I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC, AND THE ACCELERATION WAS NONE EXISTENT. I WAS NEARLY RUN OFF THE ROAD BY ANOTHER DRIVER. THE ACCELERATION FINALLY KICKED BACK IN AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5-7 SECONDS. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY EVEN AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPROGRAMMED BY FORD. SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL OCCURRENCE, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN AND I WAS NEARLY T-BONED BY A SEMI AFTER IT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS, THE ACCELERATION KICKED IN AND I NEARLY PLOWED OVER A PEDESTRIAN. FORD SEEMS TO BE OBLIVIOUS THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS DRIVING FROM MILWAUKEE TO DES MOINES ON SUNDAY SEPT 15TH, 2013, AND WHEN I WENT TO PASS ANOTHER DRIVER IN DUBUQUE THAT PULLED IN FRONT OF ME THE TRUCK LOST POWER AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE AS I ANTICIPATED. IT WAS RAINING OFF AND ON THROUGHOUT THE TRIP, TEMP WAS 55DEG, AND I HAD BEEN ON CRUISE CONTROL FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. BASICALLY, I WENT TO CHANGE LANES AND PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND INSTEAD OF GAINING SPEED QUICKLY I RECEIVED NO ACCELERATION CAUSING THE CARS BEHIND ME TO HAVE TO BRAKE QUICKLY. DURING THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING INDICATING A MIS-FIRE WAS OCCURRING AT WHICH POINT I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND THE MIS-FIRES CEASED AND AFTER A BRIEF STOP I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE MY DRIVE. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT ON 1/15/2013 AND HAS ALL THE UPDATES TO THE INTERCOOLER FORD CLAIMS ADDRESSED THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS DEFINITELY NOT FIXED AND DESPITE FORDS CLAIM IN THEIR RESPONSE TO THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. ALL PICKUP TRUCKS WITH RUNNING BOARDS AND NO FRONT TIRE MUD FLAPS FEATURE THE SAME UNSAFE CONDITIONS ENDANGERING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VEHICLE OWNERS AND PASSENGERS LIVING AND DRIVING IN WINTERY CONDITIONS. THIS SAME PROBLEMS HAVE NO DOUBT ALREADY CAUSED INJURY TO THOUSANDS AND BEEN THE CAUSE OF DEATHS OR PARALYSIS IN OTHERS OVER THE YEARS. WHILE DRIVING FROM WILSON, N.C. TO SWAN QUARTER N.C. IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON A FISHING TRIP, I STARTED TO PASS A SLOW SCHOOL BUS THEN MY TRUCK START JUMPING, LOOSING POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO DITCH MY TRUCK TO KEEP FROM HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT WAS A VERY FOGGY MORNING AND I HAD BEEN DRIVING AT 50 AND 55 MPH FOR A LONG DISTANCE BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. *JB
I WAS DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF A TWO LANE HIGHWAY. IN ORDER TO PASS A CAR THAT WAS GOING AT A REDUCED SPEED I MOVED INTO THE LEFT HAND LANE AND BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. IMMEDIATELY, AS I ACCELERATED THE ENGINE MISFIRED AND THEN I LOST ENGINE POWER. I HAD TO BRAKE AND GET BACK INTO THE RIGHT HAND LANE SO I WOULD NOT CAUSE AN ISSUE WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IMMEDIATELY STARTED FLASHING AND I PULLED OVER. IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO LOSE POWER AT HIGH SPEEDS AND THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. I WAS GLAD I DID NOT HAVE TOO MUCH TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND THE CARS WERE ABLE TO NAVIGATE AROUND ME AS I DECELERATED DUE TO THE ENGINE MISFIRING. SCARY SITUATION TO BE IN AND DISHEARTENING AFTER BUYING THIS TRUCK BRAND NEW AND ONLY HAVING 10,000 MILES ON IT. FORD NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING.*JB
THE TRUCK I BOUGHT HAS BEEN SHAKING SINCE THE DAY I PICKED IT UP AND BROUGHT IT HOME. AT 55 MPH THE TRUCK HAS A DISTINCT WOBBLE. IT HAS BEEN BACK TO SHARPNACK FORD TWICE FOR THE PROBLEM AND I WAS TOLD THEY DROVE FOUR OTHER TRUCKS ON THEIR LOT AND THEY ALL DO THE SAME THING. ALSO THEY TOOK THE TIRES OFF OF MINE AND SWAPPED THEM WITH ANOTHER TRUCK WITH THE SAME RESULT. I WAS TOLD THEY TOOK THE DRIVE SHAFT APART AND REBUILT IT, STILL NO FIX. AFTER TWO TIMES BACK TO THE SHOP, I WAS TOLD BY THE HEAD MECHANIC THAT FORD TOLD HIM NO MORE REPAIRS WILL BE DONE TO THIS TRUCK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO REGAIN ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
DURING ACCELERATION TO PASS A CAR, MY TRUCK EXHIBITED A POWER LOSS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTS FLASHING AND THE ENGINE LOOSES POWER AND THE TRUCK DECELERATES. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 6 TIMES IN VARIOUS CONDITIONS. IN 3 INSTANCES THE ENGINE ALMOST STALLED. IT CONTINUED TO STUTTER UNTIL I PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED. TWICE, THIS HAS HAPPENED IN CHICAGO TRAFFIC WHILE MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND RESULTED IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES BUT THEY SAY NO COMPUTER CODES WERE RECORDED. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD BUT THE REGIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER SAYS SHE HAS NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE WITH THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND TOLD ME TO CONTINUE TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER WHEN THESE ISSUES OCCUR. MY TRUCK IS NOW 9 MONTHS OLD WITH 13,000 MILES ON IT. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 200 MILES AT 65MPH IN THE RAIN, I ACCELERATED QUICKLY TO PASS A VEHICLE AND MY 2013 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST TRUCK SEEMED TO LOSE POWER/STALL AND I COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. WAS ACCELERATING ENTERING INTERSTATE I95 NORTH BOUND FROM AN ON RAMP AND SUDDENLY MY VEHICLE LOST POWER AND BEGAN TO STALL AND SHUTTER. THE TRUCK RAPIDLY LOST POWER PLUS SPEED AND A TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK ALMOST RAN IN TO THE BACK OF ME. I DEALT WITH THIS ISSUE FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY 500 MILE TRIP TO NYC (AND STILL DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE TODAY NOW WEEKLY BASES). ONCE BACK HOME I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO WAS AWARE OF MISFIRE ISSUES WITH MY TRUCK MODEL (APPARENTLY IT IS KNOWN BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE TRUCK STALLS AND MISFIRES ISSUE AND SAID I HAD ALL THE LATEST UPDATES HOWEVER STILL TODAY I EXPERIENCE STALL AND MISFIRE MAINLY UNDER HARD ACCELERATION. LATELY THE ISSUE HAS WORSEN AND I AM TOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN OF WILL DO ABOUT IT UNTIL THEY COME UP WITH A FIX. THIS VEHICLE IS A MAJOR SAFETY RISK PERIOD. I HAVE ASKED THE MANUFACTURER OVER AND OVER TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM HOWEVER THEY SIMPLY TOLD ME THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR IS AS OF YET. THE ENGINE LOST ALL POWER AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND SLOWED. A MALFUNCTION INDICATION LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING ON THE DASH. A VEHICLE BEHIND ME HAD TO PASS ME ON THE SHOULDER TO AVOID A REAR END COLLISION. THE CONDITION CLEARED ITSELF AFTER APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 SECONDS. I WAS APPROXIMATELY A HUNDRED MILES INTO A 150 MILE TRIP IN RAINY WEATHER. RETURNED TO THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING DAY WHO RETRIEVED NUMEROUS MISFIRE CODES FROM THE ECM (DTC P 0903, P 0904, P 0905). DEALER RE-PROGRAMMED THE ECM AND INFORMED ME I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE IT AND SEE IF THAT WORKS. PERFORMED RESEARCH TO SEE IF THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE AND FOUND THAT INDEED IT WAS, THAT THE CONDITION HAS EXISTED SINCE AT LEAST 2011 MODEL YEAR AND TO DATE THERE APPEARS TO BE NO CLEAR FIX FROM FORD. ADDITIONALLY, DESPITE WELL OVER A HUNDRED COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION, THAT NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN BY THE NHTSB. I DROVE MY F150 FOR A SHORT DISTANCE OF MAYBE 3 MILES, SHUT IT OFF, ENTERED THE POST OFFICE FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES, DROVE THE TRUCK ACROSS THE STREET FOR A DISTANCE OF MAYBE 1/4 MILE, SHUT IT OFF AND WENT INTO A BUSINESS FOR MAYBE 5 MINUTES. UPON STARTING THE TRUCK TO RETURN HOME IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE. I LOOKED AT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SAW THE RPMS TO BE OVER 3000. I DID NOT HEAR THE ENGINE REVVING DUE TO AC BLOWER NOISE. I CHECKED THE ACCELERATOR TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS TOUCHING IT AND NOTHING WAS NEAR THE ACCELERATOR. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF, RESTARTED, AND IT PERFORMED NORMALLY. OTHER ISSUES: 1) SEVERAL MONTHS AGO THE RADIO WOULD NOT TURN ON WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY ALONG WITH THE DATE/TIME DISPLAY WAS FLASHING SYMBOLS INSTEAD OF DISPLAYING ALPHA-NUMERIC CHARACTERS. UPON RESTARTING THE TRUCK THE DISPLAY RETURNED TO NORMAL AND THE RADIO FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. 2) WHEN APPLYING FULL THROTTLE THE ENGINE BASICALLY STALLS WHICH CAN BE SOMEWHAT HAZARDOUS WHEN ENTERING AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WITH A SHORT ENTRANCE RAMP AND HEAVY TRAFFIC. I MENTION ALL OF THESE ITEMS BECAUSE IN MY OPINION THEY WOULD POINT TO COMPUTER ISSUES ON THE ECOBOOST. *TR
THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!!! I EXPERIENCED THIS TWICE LAST WEEKEND ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I WAS DRIVING (25MPH) AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK BEGAN SHUDDERING AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I COULDN'T GO MORE THAN 5 MPH AND ALMOST CAUSED AND ACCIDENT. THE DEALER WAS CLOSED, SO I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND AFTER RECONNECTING IT THE TRUCK RAN FINE, UNTIL LATER THAT NIGHT WHEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT AT 70MPH. ONCE AGAIN THE ONLY THING TO DO WAS DISCONNECT THE BATTERY (TO RESET EVERYTHING). THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALER FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING JUST TO BE TOLD THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A SECONDARY ROAD IN RAINY CONDITIONS AT APPROX 35MPH AS I PRESSED THE GAS TO ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND WOULD BARELY ACCELERATE. ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING WITH WHAT I ASSUME IS THE INFAMOUS ECOBOOST MISFIRE. THE TRUCK IS A 2013 WITH ONLY 13000 MILES. ONCE I STOPPED BRIEFLY THE MISFIRE WENT AWAY AND NORMAL OPERATION RESUMED. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND BUT AS OTHERS HAVE STATED THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BECAUSE IN DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
WHILE TRYING TO RAPIDLY ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW SPEED OF 20 MPH TO AVOID A POSSIBLE COLLISION MY F150 ECOBOOST ENGINE LOST ALL POWER AND THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BLINKING. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT TO GO OFF. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE WITH MY ECOBOOST ENGINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THEN STALLED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COLD AIR COOLER WAS DEFECTIVE HOWEVER, A REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7500.
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY BEHIND A TRUCK TOWING A BIG CAMPER. WHEN I GOT A CHANCE TO TRY AND PASS HIM I GOT OVER TO GO AROUND HIM AND WENT TO ACCELERATE AND MY TRUCK LOST ALL POWER (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING) AND I HAD TO APPLY BRAKE HARD TO SLOW BACK DOWN TO GET BACK BEHIND THE TRUCK. LUCKILY THERE WAS NOT ANYONE BEHIND ME SO I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK OVER. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SET AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY WENT OUT AND TRUCK STARTED RUNNING FINE. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO FORD AND THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS A 2013 F150 WITH THE ECOBOOST 3.5 ENGINE WITH LESS THAN 11K MILES. I'M AFRAID TO EVEN DRIVE IT NOW. *TR
2013- FORD F150 ECOBOOST: I WAS DRIVING ALONG AT HIGHWAY 100KM/HOUR HIGHWAYS SPEED. I CAME UPON A CAR GOING 70KM/HR. IT WAS SAFE TO PASS, AND AS I STEPPED ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE, MY TRUCK LOST COMPLETE POWER AND DECELERATED TO ABOUT 40 KM/HR, EVENTUALLY SLOWING RIGHT DOWN. I TRIED FRANTICALLY TO PUSH THE GAS, AS THERE WERE TWO SEMI TRUCKS BEHIND ME TRYING TO PASS AT THE SAME TIME AS ME. THE TRUCKS BOTH ENDED UP HAVING TO PASS ME UNSAFELY ON THE SHOULDER TO THE LEFT OF ME, INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO GLIDE OVER BACK TO THE LANE I WAS IN, AND EVENTUALLY RODE THE SHOULDER. I CONTINUALLY TRIED TO GET POWER TO THE VEHICLE. MY ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. EVENTUALLY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, MY TRUCK DID "GRAB" AND SHOOT FORWARD. THE ENGINE LIGHT THEN WENT OFF, AND FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY DRIVE, THE TRUCK WAS FINE. AGAIN, TWO DAYS LATER, THE TRUCK DID THE SAME THING, BUT AT SLOWER SPEEDS IN TOWN. AS I READ INTO THE ISSUE, I FOUND THAT THIS IS A "COMMON" PROBLEM???? MY SITUATION TOO WAS DURING RAINY/WET WEATHER, LONG DISTANCE HIGHWAYS THE FIRST TIME, AND WET WEATHER, IN TOWN, THE SECOND TIME. THIS IS A SEVERELY DANGEROUS ISSUE. I TOO BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS ISSUE WAS BEING INVESTIGATED AND THAT FORD HAD SOLUTION TO TRY. WHAT BOGGLES MY MIND IS THAT THERE ARE "SOLUTION" TO TRY, WHICH MEANS THIS PROBLEM WAS KNOWN, YET WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT MAKE ONE SINGLE MENTION, EVEN WHEN I ASKED IF THEY HAD HEARD OF ANY ISSUES WITH THE ECOBOOST SYSTEM! THE SHOP JUST UPDATED THE COMPUTER, AN A DAY LATER, IT HAPPEN AGAIN! :) I'M NO LONGER DRIVING MY TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY. NOT SURE WHO TO CONTACT TO RETURN MY TRUCK. I DON'T EVEN WANT IT ANYMORE! *TR
WHILE TRYING TO PASS SLOWER VEHICLES ON THE FREEWAY MY F150 ECOBOOST ENGINE LOST POWER AND THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE. THIS SITUATION ALMOST CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AS TRAFFIC BEHIND ME HAD TO RAPIDLY SLOW DOWN TO ALLOW ME TIME TO PASS THE SLOWER VEHICLES AND GET OUT OF THE WAY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY MONTH OLD BRAND NEW FORD 150 AND COMPLETELY LOSS POWER STEERING. THANK GOODNESS I WAS GOING STRAIGHT OR I AM SURE THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE . IT IS STILL IN THE SHOP THEY THINK THE STEERING RACK IS GONE AND NOW I AM DRIVING A CRAPPY TOYOTA CAMRY AS A RENTAL . VEHICLE WENT IN FOR SERVICE, ISSUE WITH ENGINE STUTTER, DEALERSHIP DID PCM RE-FLASH AND UPDATED COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR VEHICLE. WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP NOTICED A/C FAN RUNNING AT HIGH SPEED AND NOT CYCLING OFF. DEALERSHIP KEPT FOR TWO MORE DAYS ONLY TO TELL ME IT NEW PROCEDURE IN PROGRAMMING. WHEN AMBIENT TEMP OUTSIDE IS ABOUT 93 OR ABOVE, A/C FAN KICKS INTO HIGH SPEED AND STAYS ON BECAUSE OF HIGH HEAD PRESSURE ON THE A/C COMPRESSOR. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT SOMETIMES NEVER GOES OFF WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. IT'S LOUD AND PRESENTS A HAZARD BECAUSE OF THE NOISE AND THE POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD IT PRESENTS BY OVERHEATING THE FAN MOTOR. FORD TELLS ME THEY PUT OUT A BULLETIN ON THE MATTER THAT BASICALLY SAYS THIS IS THE NEW NORMAL. I TOLD THEM IT'S A HAZARD AND AN UNACCEPTABLE FIX. PLEASE HELP ME TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH FORD TO FIX THE MATTER RATHER TO PUT A BAND-AID ON IT! *TR

THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 940.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PASS A SEMI TRUCK AFTER DRIVING A CONSTANT SPEED OF 65 IN ARIZONAS HUMID MONSOON SEASON, UNDER HARD ACCELERATION MY F150 HAD A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER ALONG WITH A VERY STRANGE SHUDDER AND LOUD REVVING SOUND. AFTER I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND PULLED BEHIND THE SEMI I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PASS (DUE TO ON COMING TRAFFIC), THE TRUCK RAN NORMAL. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THE CONDITIONS WERE DIFFERENT THE DAY OF TEST DRIVE AND THE TRUCK WAS NOT DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR NEARLY AS LONG. THIS COULD BE A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
