Experience hard shifting, loss of power/acceleration, and malfunctioning instrument cluster including speedometer and digital display when accelerating. Scanned error code is P0721. Problem may be related to Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01 (molded lead frame) that has expired for my vehicle which has 193,000 miles. Ford is no longer covering the repair which is a safety hazard for its vehicle owners. Loss of power, inability to accelerate when necessary, and controls that don’t work put me and my passengers at risk. Dealer has confirmed that the problem is most likely due to expired repair but states it is no longer covered by Ford. I do not recall receiving a letter for this problem and I hope Ford will change and decide that customer safety is a concern.

problems with transmission suddenly downshifting or not shifting out of low gear...could possibly cause a accident from the rear...no...no...called dealer was told no recall on my particular vehicle...no warning light as of yet but speed odometer acts crazy
Powertrain Control Module (Pcm) Software Reprogrammed Under Recall 19v-075. THE Software Used TO Reprogram THE PCM DID NOT Have THE Necessary Updates TO Prevent THE Transmission From Unexpectedly Downshifting Into First Gear, Regardless OF Vehicle Speed. This is caused almost have and accident in the free way went you driving, and ford it should be changed the trasmition because now I have this f-150 making payment and I can use and we pay all the fee and this is a lemon if ford don't want to be responsible.
While driving the vehicle, it would shift down to first gear. This happened at least 6 times, all a different speeds. No warning lights, except after it happened, the electronics on the dash would go out. Had to shift to park and/or shut off the vehicle, then shift back into gear. I checked for recalls with dealer and there were none, but I saw that in June 2024 they announced a recall for 2014 F150's (mine is 2013) for the same exact issue. I did take it to a car repair place and had a speed sensor replaced for about $800.

Tooele ford claims the safety recall was completed , however nhtsa website states it is an unresolved recall. Tooele ford and ford customer service refused to remedy the situation.

In April 2024, My vehicle lost power while driving on the interstate and no warning, just a wrench popped up on the instrument panel. I put the vehicle in neutral and started back up and no more issues since until this past week in October 2024 with about 145000k miles, it happened twice without warning on the interstate. I looked up my Vin# and saw there was a noted issue from Ford Motor Company but no recall. It showed molded leadframe in some of its vehicles through Customer Satisfaction Programs 16N02 and 19N01. This should be a national recall because it is a safety issue when it gives no warning before it happens and could cause a major accident or death.
MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED OUT. i WASNT EVEN DRIVING IT. i DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED
Our truck lost power and lights on dash came on with a wrench nothing else was working. Truck was not shifting properly and lost all power. We contacted Ford and they said the truck had a recall for transmission module but it was expired and they would not help us. We were never notified of the recall. In speaking with ford they did not want to help us and told us to contact the better business bureau. I found information on this recall online our truck is a 2013 Ford themselves said it should have been fixed but we had no idea of the problem. [XXX] . Is this not a safety issue that could cause an accident if the truck shifted in first gear while going down the highway at speed? I am blown away by Fords lack of care and assistance with this issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Hello, on my 2013 ford f150, why driving the vehicle will at random shift from 5th gear to 1st gear, creating a massive loss of power and forcing me to loose speed rapidly. This puts my self, my family and those around me in danger. I have reached online that there is a current recall for 2014 models that do this, but not 2013 models. This seems outrageous to me. This is just as much of a safety concern. Why discriminate between the two years.
6-speed automatic transmission shift issues. Car shifted from 6 to 1st gear while driving down the highway at over 60mph. Recall 19S07 remediation was completed previously, the reprogramming. Now the issues back and the vehicle randomly shifts to 1st gear while in other gears like 4,5,6 going over 40 mph. The issue occurs randomly and creates a major hazard with the vehicle dramatically slowing down until the car gets back to a proper gear . Ford states that the molded lead frame needs replaced and will cost over $1,100. The prior recall didn't fix the issue just delayed a future driving hazard with a cost to the driver.

The dealer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

while i was driving the speedometer went all the way to zero and started shifting down into first gear. i took it into a ford shop and they said i was 4000miles over the 150000mile warranty, and that the code p720 popped up on the codes. they said i need to replace the leadframe in the transmission and reprogram it, which will cost me $1500 out of pocket. it is very dangerous driving because i could easily get into an accident when this happens or transmission could blow that gear. i hope ford extends this warranty because i was reading online and found lots of people having the same issue as me.

Truck would crank but not start. Had towed to dealership and they found fuse 27 was melted. Was informed that this was a known design flaw. The fuse was relocated to slot 70. Car did not but could have caught fire causing catastrophic damage and injuries to myself or others.
Driving at 65 mph in 6th gear on the highway the transmission downshifted to first. It was as if I had slammed on the brakes, the downshift was completely unexpected and nearly caused me to lose control of the vehicle. After regaining control over the vehicle and getting pulled off the highway into a safe turnout. The transmission had not overheated it was at its normal operating range. I allowed the pickup to sit for a few minutes. I checked the transmission fluid and it was at operating level and was not burnt nor did it have metal flakes in it. After allowing the pickup to sit for about 10 minutes I pulled back onto the highway and attempted to get back up to 65 mph, 1st gear didn’t shift to 2nd until just below 7000 rpm. 2nd to 3rd gear was also nearly 7000 rpm until the shift. The dash read 4th but the truck quit powering the rear wheels, as if the transmission were in neutral. The truck then flashed the orange wrench on the dash and was stuck in 3rd until I pulled over and parked and shut the pickup off for a few minutes. The problem repeated itself after attempting to get on the highway after letting the pickup sit for a few minutes. Prior to this incident there had been a very random and slight shift delay between 3rd and 4th and the trans would downshift from 6th or 5th to 3rd sometimes and there would be a delay in power for a couple of seconds before shifting to 4th then 5th to 6th
truck speedometer goes to 0. Slows down abruptly. Rpm goes way up. Was going from 45 to less than 10mph in a matter of seconds. Feels like the transmission automatically downshifts to a lower gear. Very dangerous. Seems to be quite a few of these incidents on you tube. Truck only has 11600 miles on it.

I have had a problem with the transmission molded lead frame 19N01 it also shows a wrench when this problem occurs. This caused my vehicle to not show the speed limit of my vehicle. It also caused my vehicle not be able to accelerate. I then worried about this problem due to this incident was on the highway and almost caused a crash.

I started the truck and as I backed out of a parking spot, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and the brakes did not stop the truck. I used the emergency brake to stop and pulled back into the parking spot. I checked the brake fluid and it was low. I purchased some at the store I was at and filled up the reservoir. I pumped the brakes and they appeared to work. After driving for about a block the brake fluid light came on and the reservoir was empty. No fluid leaking anywhere under the vehicle.

on march 11 2024 while traveling on the highway my f150 lost all power and stoped on the road. the truck was towed to point pleasant ford dealership. I was informed the transmission was completely out of oil. ford said the lines from the transmission to the oil cooler had failed. this was caused by a defective connector to the oil cooler. I was later informed the lines are steel but the connector is aluminum I wonder if the dissimilar metals caused the corrosion. the truck only had 48,000 miles on it although it is 11 years old. the truck stopping in middle of traffic is an extreme hazard.

ATTEMPTED TO MOUNT MY SPARE TIRE AND THE METAL COVERING ON MY LUGNUTS HAD EXPANDED CAUSING ME TO BE UNABLE TO REMOVE THE FLAT TIRE. DONE SOME RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED THIS TO BE A COMMON OCCURANCE ON MY 2013 F150. THI ISSUE W/FORD NEEDS TO BE RESOVELD TO PREVENT ANY FURTHURE DIFFILCULTIES. NEEDS TO BE A SOLID LUGNUT TO REPLACE THOSE THAT HAVE THE METAL SKIN COVERING THE LUGNUT. THANKS
The dash panel is periodically going blank and I noticed that this is a recall on the Fords in 2023. Is this the same issue on older models Fords F150 as well.

The wrench warning light and air bag warning light was illuminated. Upon restarting the vehicle, the vehicle failed to shift out of 1st gear. The contact shifted the vehicle to manual drive mode, shifted to 2nd gear and then back to drive and then the gears shifted as designed. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer and a diagnostic test was performed. The dealer retrieved DTC code: P0722 related to Customer Satisfaction Program: 19N01. My 2013 F150 downshifted abruptly from 5th to 1st gear going 55. This caused me to stop dangerously and abruptly. It then got stuck in 1st gear. I turned off truck and restarted and it was stuck in 3rd gear. I did have a check engine light read which were codes: P0720/p0721/p0720 pointing to the output shaft speed sensor. I had Ford dealership TSB performed in 2020 to reprogram PCM to prevent this from happening, wrench icon showed a long with airbag light and dashboard quit working all except RPM gauge. The first time this abrupt downshift occurred was today February 21, 2024. Seems like a very dangerous safety issue and the dealership has no regards to it and said they are booked out and it would be $150 to look into it.
When you going down the road, it just downshifts

Feb 18th 2024 I was driving my 2013 Ford F150 FX4 (current mileage: 65,900) and I was up to about 55-60 mph when the truck downshifted on its on to 1st gear as I was approaching a curve. My gauges went blank on the vehicle and the check engine light as well as the wrench light came on. I pulled off the road. I tried to turning the engine off and starting it again. As I went to put it in drive, when it hit reverse the truck jerked hard and I went to neutral. As I shifted to drive it jerked hard again and registered the truck in 5th gear sitting still. I tried that (2) more times and same result. I unhooked the battery and reconnected it. Started the truck and no service lights. My family and I continued on our trip to dinner thinking it was just a glitch. After dinner on the way home we experienced the same thing when the truck hit 55-60mph, luckily right in front of an Auto parts store. I had them do a diagnostic test and pulled (3) codes. 1) P0721 Output shaft speed sensor circuit range/performance. 2) P07210-00 and 3) P0722-00. Took it to Ford dealership and said it was a "customer satisfaction recall" but my truck is past the 10 year period being a 2013 model so it's not covered and will be $1,300.
Transmission has stuck in 5th gear multiple times and has suddenly downshifted from 5th to 3rd multiple times and has downshifted from 6th to 5th numerous times, also has started in 5th gear from starting of truck till I unhooked battery and then it went to normal 1st to start. On 2-3 occasions the wrench warning light has come on till I press ok then it may stay on a few seconds then turn off. Putting the safety of my family and others at risk as I travel highways daily. This is all after having to have another transmission in after the recall stating sudden downshift from 3rd to first, that recall caused my transmission to go out with zero help from Bob Moore Oklahoma city. They pointed the blame at me saying it didnt have transmission fluid but the shop that did the swap said it was not low or empty. This happened in 2021, here I am 3 years later wondering if it is going to be another expense I'm going to have to foot. And the recall procedure was preformed by bob moore Oklahoma city
Transmission would not shift from 1st gear. yes available for inspection. car would not keep speed with traffic. Had to stop in middle of highway and cut off truck and restart. Has not been sent to dealer. Not inspected. light came on to for maintenance.
