I was driving on the highway at 75 mph when the vehicle went into limp mode. All gauges on the cluster stopped working, the odometer readout became dashes, the wrench icon flashed on the gauge cluster, there was no throttle response, and the transmission was stuck in third gear. I experienced a down shift from 6th gear to 3rd while coasting from from the left lane to the right shoulder. No DTCs were registered. I turned the vehicle off and back on and drive it the remaining mile to my house. It happened again a few days later with my children in the car. I had a scan tool with me and the vehicle registered a P0720 code for the output shaft sensor. Again I was able to coast to the side of the road with no throttle response.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted to first gear, and the transmission and check engine warning lights illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the mechanic retrieved a DTC code for an output shaft speed sensor malfunction. The mechanic was able to reset the code; however, the failure returned while the contact was driving back to the residence. The contact recently linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) however, the VIN nor the model year was not included. 2013 Ford F-150 manufactured 09/13. Truck has 120,000. About 05/01/24 while traveling at 60 mph on the truck lost power, slowed quickly to about 25 mph, I needed to clear through traffic to pull to side of road. The truck would still move but only at 25 mph.. Ck engine light was on as well as other warning lights, odometer displayed - - - the speedometer either displayed 0 or - - - I pulled over, turned truck off waited a couple minutes, restarted and it ran fine, no warning lights drove home. I continued to drive the vehicle for a couple weeks with no problems. On 06/20/24 while traveling at 30 mph in traffic the truck abruptly shifted to a very low gear, no warning lights, pulled over, shut off truck, waited a few minutes, started truck with no warning lights, drove approximately 10 miles to home without incident. 06/23/24 while driving approximately 30 mph the vehicle hard shifted to a very low gear and would not accelerate past approximately 15 or 20 mph, no warning lights. I stopped, turned off, waited a few minutes. Started engine, truck moved but would not shift, I used the manual shift option and it worked, I was able to shift. Drove approximately 1/2 mile to home. I am having truck towed for repairs tomorrow 06/26/24. I was informed of a recall today, 06/25/24 regarding 2014 F-150s, I realize my truck is not listed but it was built at the very end of the model year and I believe it should be reported.

Transmission shifts from 6 to 1 leaving the back tores locked up and skidding down the road loesing control until it comes to a stop.
2013 f150 truck wouldn’t get out of first gear from stop light, wrench light came on, speed odometer stayed at 0 miles. Took to ford dealership to have recall 19S07 done and was told this would not fix it, (needed a fix that was no longer offered bc I’m past 10 years mark) they did the recall and now the truck jerks when shifting gears and downshifts to first from any speed
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH with the cruise control activated, the transmission suddenly downshifted from 6th to 1st gear. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over into the Emergency Lane, turned off the vehicle, and had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the final drive assembly, including, the spider gears and rear axles were blown due to the ABS system being damaged due to the transmission slightly detaching when the downshift occurred. The final drive assembly was replaced; however, the transmission only shifted from 1st to 2nd gear before downshifting back to 1st gear while making a loud grinding sound. The mechanic diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V345000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
I was driving at 70 mph on the highway and my transmission automatically downshifted locking up my rear wheels twice nearly causing me to lose control. I was able to pull off the highway safely and get into a parking lot and turn off and restart my truck. I was able to make it to my destination on city streets, but with similar issues at lower speeds. I took my truck to have its codes checked and the diagnosis was a failed lead frame. I called Ford and they said the extended warranty on this part was expired on my truck by 2 months. The fact that there is a not an automatic recall on this part on 2013 models is kind of scary knowing what I went through on the highway. I have since had the lead frame replaced and the issue is resolved.

About 3 weeks ago, I had come to a stop, and then when I hit the accelerator to come from the stop sign, the "check-engine" light came up, my odometer & speedometer seemed to stop working; additionally, I felt that the vehicle wasn't accelerating. When I arrived home, I turned off & then the vehicle back on; and everything since then seems to have been working. I have taken it too the dealership to see if they can determine this issue, and after 5 days, I still don't have an answer. But I did just notice the 2014 F150 recall, regarding faulty transmission, that was reported on, on June 25th; it seems very similar to what happened to my 2013 F150

Vehicle goes into limp mode when driving or slams into 1st gear, locks up the rear tires and throws the truck sideways. Sent to Mullinax Ford on 6/7/24 after waiting a week to get it in. Recall 19S07 was completed and vehicle brought back and told it was fixed. Vehicle was not driven again until the next day. Saturday, 6/8/24, the truck did it again multiple times at 6am while my husband was driving to work. Ford looked at vehicle on 6/10/24 and determined that the transmission molded lead frame needed to be replaced. Ford issued a CSP regarding this but has an expiration of 150,000 and/or 10 yrs from warranty date. It is UNACCEPTABLE to not cover a subsequent repair that is directly linked to the original safety recall. Just because we take care of our vehicles and the problem did not occur until 162,000 miles does not make it ok to not honor a full repair of a known safety recall and is unacceptable. I have been on the phone all day being passed around to not get any resolution on this or any of my questions answered

Faulty leadframe and transmission filter.
Vehicle: 2013 Ford F150 FX4 SuperCrew/6.5' Box 5.0 V8 4X4 6R80 Transmission 125,000 Miles Date of Manufacture: 6/11/2013 Date of Original Purchase: 12/06/2013 Symptoms: Intermittently, while driving, the vehicle will lose communication with the speed sensor, disable the speedometer and odometer, set the DTC P0720, and lock the transmission into third gear. It has happened while taking off from a stop, climbing grades, and at cruising speed (70+ MPH). At cruising speed, the downshift is violent enough to skid the tires, and makes climbing hills nearly impossible at slow speeds. The CSP: Ford implemented a CSP (Customer Satisfaction Program #19N01-S3) for the replacement of the molded lead frame in the transmission, which contains the defective output speed sensor. The original CSP covered 10 years, or 150,000 miles from the original purchase date of the vehicle. However, as this was a CSP, not a recall, only the original owners of the vehicles were notified, which lead to necessary repair work not being completed in many cases. Second and subsequent owners, like myself, were left unaware of the issues with their vehicles, until the timeframe had already closed. In my case, the initial sign of trouble was only four weeks past the end of the CSP timeline. In summary, I do not trust this vehicle after sliding the rear tires along the interstate as it forced it's way into a lower gear. I will not use this vehicle to transport friends, family, and loved ones until I'm positive it is fixed. I certainly do not trust this vehicle to tow anything at the moment. This has been a very emotionally and financially burdening experience for myself, as I've had to purchase a second pickup to use for my small business and transportation needs, while still paying upkeep on a vehicle I can't use nor sell to anyone in good conscious. This condition poses a serious and potentially life threatening safety concern, and I strongly encourage it to be considered for a proper safety recall.
The truck I have is known to have a problem with the lead frame ford issued a recall on this vehicle however my vehicle was never fixed at all they just have it marked as no open recall and they are telling me that the vehicle is no longer covered by the warranty on the recall due to a time lapse and mileage being over. This vehicle was affected by this recall and it is a safety recall yet the vehicle was never properly fixed for this and it has ongoing issues that have to do with this recall.

Truck threw code P2112 Throttle body plate closed. Truck immediatly went into limp mode meaning on only poorly tried to idle, no throttle. This is the SECOND time this part has gone bad on this truck. Never mind they are 600 dollars to replace, it was a very dangerous to have the truck just die during a merge onto highway manuver. If I have to do it twice, how many hundreds of thousands of these failures exist? The first time it happened, I almost crashed. My ford dealer says he sells "alot" of this part. Part number failure is BL3Z9E926B
