2014 FORD F-150 LOOSES POWER AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED IN JUNE OF 2016 BECAUSE OF SAME PROBLEM. CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID I'M OUT OF WARRANTY AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY SERVICE REPAIRS. I DO A LOT OF TRAVELING WITH A TRAILER AND IT QUIT DANGEROUS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC TRYING TO FINE A SPOT TO PULL OVER. I WAS IN THE FORT PITT TWO MILE TUNNEL IN PITTSBURGH WHEN THIS HAPPENED LAST WEEK. SCREECHING TIRES AND HORNS BLOWING I LIMPED IT OUT OF THE TUNNEL. WHERE I FOUND A PLACE TO PULL OVER. WHAT CAN I DO? FRUSTRATED FORD CUSTOMER.
I PREVIOUSLY FILES A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. AFTER DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIRS BEING DONE, IT TURNS OUT THAT IT IS THE LEAD FRAME THAT HAS GONE BAD. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE RECALL OF THE 2011-2012 F150'S NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 16V248000 AND FORD RECALL CAMPAIGN# 16S19. OUR VEHICLE HAS THE SAME TRANSMISSION 6R80 AND WAS BUILT IN THE DEARBORN MICHIGAN PLANT. OUR VEHICLE WAS UNFORTUNATELY OUT OF WARRANTY BY 400 MILES ON THIS ISSUE SO WE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. THIS YEAR VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FROM 2016 AND I HAVE DONE ENOUGH RESEARCH TO SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE ALL OVER THE INTERNET COMPLAINING OF THE EXACT SAME ISSUE IN THE 2014 F150'S. MAYBE FORD SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL THE 2014'S FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT!!! THIS ISSUE CAUSED OUR VEHICLE AT 55 MPH TO COME TO A SKIDDING HALT ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY!! WE COULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT!!
ALMOST HAD SEVERAL ACCIDENTS DUE TO A DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX 55 MPH. THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR, REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET IT OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I SEE ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO MANY FORD F150'S. SAW A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME THING BUT IT ONLY APPLIED TO 2011 AND 2012 FORD F150'S. ALL OWNERS FELT THAT THEIR YEAR VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN RECALL. I FEEL THAT THE 2014 SHOULD DEFINITELY BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY 2014 IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE 2011 AND 2012'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR. I ONLY HAVE 60K HIGHWAY MILES ON THIS TRUCK!! BELOW YOU ASK FOR DATES OF THIS HAPPENING. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS IGNORED THIS. I WILL POST THE MOST RECENT DATE THAT IT HAPPENED.
I HAVE BEEN GETTING GETTING AIRBAG SYMBOL ON DASH FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. I HAVE BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO 4 DIFFERENT FORD DEALERS TO REPAIR. THE FIRST TIME IT CAME ON, I WAS TOLD TO PARK TRUCK AND NOT DRIVE IT BY FORD, THE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY AT ANY TIME. WHEN I BRING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER, THEY CLAIM TO REPAIR ISSUE. AFTER I LEAVE DEALER, IN ABOUT 1 MONTH, THE LIGHT WILL COME BACK ON. THE LAST FORD DEALER (HOOD IN HAMMOND) WHICH HAS CLAIMED TO REPAIRED IT, AFTER IT CAME BACK ON, THEY SAYS THAT THE FRONT SEAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO REPAIR. ALSO SEAT TENTIONER HAS BEEN REPLACED BY ANOTHER FORD DEALER. I HAVE HAD TO USE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND HAVE TO PAY $100 COPAY. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD A COUPLE TIME ALSO. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. I DO NOT KNOW IF AIRBAGS WILL WORK OR NOT. VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE UNPROFESSIONALISM OF DEALERS (SERVICE MANAGERS) AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THIS ISSUE OF NOT KNOWING IF AIRBAGS ARE WORKING PROPERLY ARE NOT IS VERY DISTRUBING. I AM GIVING AN ESTIMATE OF MILEAGE AND DATE WHEN FIRST OCCURED.
THE FORD SYNC 2 WITH GPS THAT'S TIED INTO THEIR 911 ACCIDENT REPORTING SYSTEM. REPORTS MY VEHICLE LOCATION IN LAKES AND ON NON EXISTENT ROADS WHEN ON MAJOR ROADS AND FREEWAYS. I HAVE VIDEO AND STILL SHOTS. AS A RET FIREFIGHTER, I CAN SAY THAT PEOPLE COULD DIE IF WE CAN'T FIND THEM IN TIME. FORD KNOWS THIS AND THAT'S A VIOLATION OF THE TREAD ACT. THERE ARE MANY CLASS ACTION SUITS GOING ON NOW ABOUT THIS DEFECTIVE SYSTEM WHICH FORD HAS NOW COMPLETELY ABANDONED. MY TRUCK WAS UNDER FORDS MANUFACTURES BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THE DEALERS CAN'T FIX THEM WITHOUT THESE NEW SD CARDS. FORD SOLD THIS TRUCK WITH THE DEFECTIVE SD CARD AND I HAVE A LETTER FROM THEM SAYING THAT FORD WANTS TO SELL ME A NEW SD CARD FOR 175.00 FOR A FIX WHILE CLAIMING THAT IT'S FROM A THIRD PARTY YET THEY ARE STILL PROFITING FOR THE REPLACEMENTS. FORD KNOWS THAT THOUSANDS OF FORD AND LINCOLN CAR AND TRUCK OWNERS ARE HAVING MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SYNC 2 SYSTEM AND THEY ARE IGNORING OUR COMPLAINTS. MY GPS AND THE VOICE COMMANDS HAVE BECOME UNSTABLE.AND THE SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY UNUSABLE. AND THAT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN WHEN FAMILIES CAN'T GET HELP IN THE EVENT OF A SERIOUS CRASH. FORD USED TO SUPPLY THESE SD CARDS WHEN DOING MASTER RESETS FOUND ON THEIR WEB SITE BUT NOW THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE AS ACCORDING TO ONE FORD DEALER THEY STOPPED PAYING FOR THIS WARRANTY WORK BECAUSE THIS FIX COST TOO MUCH.
THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST STOPPED WORKING. 3 FORD DEALERSHIPS INDICATED THIS IS WIDESPREAD WITH THIS VEHICLE. WITH SNOW STICKING TO THE WINDOW, VISIBILITY FOR REVERSING TO AVOID OTHER VEHICLES, OBSTACLES AND PEDESTRIANS IS GREATLY REDUCED. A VEHICLE THIS LARGE, EVEN WITH REAR CAMERA AND MIRRORS SHOULD HAVE THE BEST VISIBILITY POSSIBLE.
F150 REPEATEDLY LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND POWER. THE TRUCK WENT INTO A VERY LIMITED LOW POWER STATE AND MANY NEAR COLLISIONS WERE NARROWLY AVOIDED AS THE TRUCK RAPIDLY LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND GLIDED TO A STOP.A RED WRENCH SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE DRIVER DISPLAY STATING A "MECHANICAL" ISSUE. THIS HAPPENED 50 PLUS TIMES ON SURFACE STREETS AND 10 PLUS TIMES WHILE ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS ISSUE GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER A TWO-WEEK PERIOD CULMINATING IN THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY BEING FULLY REPLACED.
IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS I HAVE HAD TO ADD OVER 1 1/2 QTS OF BRAKE FLUID.THERE ARE NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF ANY LEAKAGE.THE LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING WENT OFF 2 FRIDAYS IN A ROW. I CHECKED THE LEVEL ON THE 3RD FRIDAY AN IT WAS LOW AGAIN.I JUST CHECKED NOW IT IS LOW AGAIN.
OWN A 2014 F-150 SINCE KNEW 63000 MILES ON IT NOW PUT NEW TIRES ON IT AT 50100 MILES IN FEBRUARY OF 2017 A THOUSAND MILES INTO THE NEW TIRES BEGAN TO HEAR A HOWLING NOSE FROM WHAT SEEMED TO BE THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE. THE HOWLING NOSE WAS MOSTLY HEARD WHILE IN COLD WEATHER AND IN MOTION. TOOK IT BACK TO THE TIRE GUY WHO PULLED EVERYTHING FOR THE INSPECTION AND FOUND NOTHING AND REFERRED ME BACK TO FORD. TOOK IT TO FORD WHO INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS UNFORTUNATELY A SOMEWHAT COMMON ACCURANCE ON THESE F-150 THE PROBLEM (IWE INTEGRATED WHEEL END) IT SEEMS A RUBBER BOOT OF SORTS DOESN'T CONTRACT OR INFLATE AS IT SHOULD CAUSING GRINDING OF THE GEARS IN THE WHEEL HUB WHICH COULD RESULT IN WHEELS FALLING OFF TILTING OR BEING DISENGAGED FROM THE HUB CAUSING WHAT COULD BE A GREAT DEAL OF HARM. IF THE SERVICE AGENT HADN'T TOLD ME THAT THIS WASN'T A COMMON PROBLEM I WOULDN'T BE WRITING TO YOU, IF HE HADN'T TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS ONLY COVERED UNDER WARRANTY UP TO 60K MILES WHEN I REPORTED THIS TO HIM AT 59900 AND DROVE THE EXTRA MILES JUST TO GET TO HIM WHEN I COULD HAVE GONE TO A FORD DEALER CLOSER AND STAYED UNDER THE 60K AND BEEN COVERED, STILL THERE SEEMS TO A PROBLEM HERE CONCERNING THIS WHEEL PART THAT COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO PEOPLE AND PROPERTY.
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH DOWN BASELINE ROAD IN ROSEVILLE, CA. I REAR ENDED A STATIONARY HONDA ACCORD. ON IMPACT, NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE FRONT END OF MY TRUCK WAS CRUSHED INWARD AND THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE I IMPACTED HAD BEEN OBLITERATED. I HAVE MAJOR WHIPLASH AND ADDITIONAL BODY PAIN FROM THE ACCIDENT.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY . LUCKY WE DIDN,T GET KILLED.
STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH WIFE AND GRAND DAUGTHER IN VEHICLE,CODE CAME UP PROBLEM WITH ELECTRIC STEERING,HAS BEEN IN SHOP FOR 1 WEEK.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED AFTER TURNING ON REAR DEFROST. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY AT THE TIME.
REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED FROM DEFROSTER.
2013 F-150 LARIAT' SAME THING, MARCH 2017, VEHICLE STARTED BY REMOTE STARTER IN MY DRIVEWAY, IT WAS APPROX 35 DEGREES OUT,. I BUCKLED MY SON IN THE REAR CAR SEAT, GOT INTO THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND I HEARD A LOUD BANG LIKE SOMETHING REAR HIT THE ROOF AREA. LOOKED AROUND AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. WHEN I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR I COULD SEE THE REAR LEFT SIDE PANEL OF GLASS HAD COMPLETELY CRACKED,"SPIDER-ED". THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED TO MY TRUCK(I WILL BE SUBMITTING A SECOND COMPLAINT REGARDING THAT INCIDENT.
USED REMOTE START, IT WAS ABOUT 25 DEGREES. WENT OUT GOT IN TRUCK AND HEARD A CRACKING SOUND. TURNED AROUND TO LOOK IN BACK SEAT AND SAW DRIVERS SIDE OF REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED.
BACK SLIDING GLASS WINDOW ON DRIVER'S SIDE (WITH DEFROST) - USED REMOTE CRANKING THIS MORNING TO START THE TRUCK ON A MID 40 DEGREE MORNING. TRUCK HAD BEEN RUNNING APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES. UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND PLACING IT IN REVERSE, I NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW (DRIVER'S SIDE, NON-SLIDING PORTION) WAS SHATTERED. I EXITED THE TRUCK TO INSPECT AND COULD HEAR CRACKING NOISES, LIKE RICE CRISPIES, AS IT WAS STILL CRACKING. THERE HAD NOT BEEN ANY IMPACT TO THE GLASS PREVIOUSLY AND THERE WAS NO IMPACT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE TRUCK IS APPROXIMATELY 24 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE AND HAS 20,8XX MILES. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER TO INQUIRE ABOUT WARRANTY CLAIMS.
BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE FINALLY STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING SLOWLY GETTING INTO THE STREET. DID NOT CRASHED BECAUSE I WAS KEEPING A LONG DISTANCE FROM THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. TOOK TO THE FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD OF NO RECALLS AND SUGGESTED TO TAKE IT TO A PLACE WHERE THEY MAKE OIL CHANGES AND MINOR REPAIRS FOR AN INSPECTION. DID AS TOLD AND THEY CHECKED THE BRAKES FOR WEAR, LEAKS AND VISUAL DAMAGE AND FOUND NONE.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE 408 EXPRESSWAY IN ORLANDO FL, I (ALONG WITH WIFE AND KIDS) SPOTTED TRAFFIC CONGESTION AHEAD. WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES I REALIZED MY BRAKES DIDN'T WORK. AN ERROR FLASHED ON MY DASHBOARD SAYING LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL. USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND DOWNSHIFTING THE VEHICLE I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A SAFE START USING THE MEDIUM. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO FORD I WAS TOLD THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER CAUSING THE FAILURE IN MY BRAKES. THERE WEREN'T ANY LEAKS VISIBLE FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THERE IS A RECALL ON TRUCKS SIMILAR TO MINE FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT FOR SOME REASON MY TRUCK WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I HAD TO PAY FORD TO GET THE VEHICLE FIXED.
TURNED ON REAR WINDOW DEFROST AND ONE OF THE THREE REAR WINDOW PANES CAUSED A LOUD POP! THE DRIVER SIDE PANE HAD CRACKS THROUGHOUT THE WINDOW!. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, AND RUNNING WHILE I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE MY HOUSE.
REAR DEFROST STOPPED WORKING JUST AFTER 36000 MILE WARRANTY EXPIRED,DEFROST BUTTON DOES NOT LIGHT UP. IM AM AN ASC CERTIFIED TECH, CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND RELAYS, THE DEFROST GRID HAS POWER TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE THREE PANEL REAR WINDOW ONLY, POWER TO LEFT ISNT THERE, IVE SEEN ALOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THERE RIGHT REAR GLASS SHATTERING OUT OF NOWHERE AFTER USING REAR DEFROST. POSSIBLY SAME ISSUE?,DOENST MATTER IF VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN OR NOT.
The Ford f-150 2014 heated mirrors and rear sliding window defrost system stop working ALL fuses and relays were checked and in good working order. When brought to Ford Motor company dealer attention was told that rear window would have to be replaced at my cost to correct safety problem. Living in Michigan where we get freezing rain and snow being unable to use outside mirrors to safely see traffic to change lanes is a big risk factor for all on the highways. Ford motor company knows of this but not concerned to make right with owners of vehicles. These vehicles have been inspected by Ford motor. There is NO WARNING light to let one know that system is not functioning other then ice build up on mirrors.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY WHILE PASSING OTHER VEHICLES. ADDITIONALLY, THE FUEL MILEAGE WAS NOT CALCULATING CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE IN 2014. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,620.
THERE IS A SHAKING AND VIBRATION TRANSMITTED THRU THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STEERING WHEEL WHEN EVER THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED DURING STOPPING. ACCORDING TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH F150'S. TURNING THE ROTATORS HELPS FOR AWHILE.
UNCOMMANDED BLOWER MOTOR SPEED CHANGE OR RECIRCULATION DOOR MOVEMANT.
MY TIRE SPEC AND PRESSURE LABEL IS INCORRECT, COLD PSI IS SHOWN AT 55 PSI FRONT AND 60 PSI REAR AND THE TPMS SHOWS LOW PRESSURE IF UNDER 55 AND 60. ALL LOCAL FORD SERVICE ADVISERS SAY IT SHOULD BE 35PSI. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING OF VIBRATION ISSUES SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND FEEL THIS HAS PUT MYSELF AND MY FAMILY AT RISK NOT TO MENTION THE PREMATURE WEAR ON MY TIRES AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS.
SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE: ON OR ABOUT 1/25/17 THE TRUCK BEGAN COMPLETELY LOSING THROTTLE CONTROL. WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS UP TO 70MPH TRUCK WOULD SHUT OFF WITH COMPLETE LOSS OF THROTTLE RESPONSE, A BLUE WRENCH ICON WOULD APPEAR AND THE DRIVER WOULD HAVE TO TRY AND COAST TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. AT A COMPLETE STOP THE TRUCK WOULD CONTINUE TO NOT HAVE THROTTLE CONTROL, TO REGAIN THROTTLE CONTROL THE DRIVER WOULD HAVE TO RESTART THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK WOULD THEN DRIVE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND LOSE THROTTLE AGAIN SEVERAL MILES DOWN THE ROAD. THIS PROBLEM PROVED TO BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHILE TRYING TO MAKE TURNS ACROSS LANES OF TRAFFIC NOT KNOWING IF THE TRUCK WOULD LOSE POWER AND THROTTLE CONTROL IN THE PATH OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE PROVED TO BE EQUALLY DANGEROUS WHILE SUDDENLY SLOWING FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITH NO THROTTLE CONTROL AND COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. THE TRUCK WAS DELIVERED TO FORD AUTONATION OF ORANGE PARK 7700 BLANDING BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244 ON 1/26/17 AND LEFT IN THEIR CARE FOR PROGNOSIS. ON OR ABOUT 1/26/17 FORD AUTONATION OF ORANGE PARK DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF FAILURE TO BE THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY, THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLLER HAD FAILED INSIDE THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE UNIT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. WAS QUOTED $667 AND TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DEPARTMENT AND STARTED A CASE (CAS-11570094) ON 1/26/17 FOLLOWED UP EVERY DAY, AND ON 1/30/2017 WAS CONTACTED BY AUTONATION FORD TO EXPLAIN THAT I WOULD BE PARTIALLY COVERED AND WOULD NEED TO PAY AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF $250. NEEDING THE TRUCK BACK I AGREED TO PAY THE $250 OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE WHILE CONTINUING TO MAKE AND ATTEMPT TO REGAIN MY OUT OF POCKET A LATER DATE.
ENTERING THE INTERSTATE AND VEHICLE STARTED TO SHUTTERE/SHAKE AND COMPLETELY LOST POWER ANY KIND OF POWER TO THE ENGINE. THE ACCELERATIOR WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING. WARNING LIGHT, AN ORANGE WRENCH APPEARED ON THE DASH DISPLAY. VEHICLE WOULD ONLY COAST BUT DID NOT DIE. WAS ALMOST STRUCK BY A VEHICLE TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS AS VEHICLE WOULDN'T PULL OVER FAST ENOUGH. VEHICLE DECELERATED REALLY FAST AND IT WAS TERRIFYING WATCHING A VEHICLE APPROACHED ME AND MY CHILD AT INTERSTATE SPEED. NARROWLY ESCAPED DISASTER. VEHICLE SAT ON SIDE OF ROAD FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND POWER RETURNED TO VEHICLE.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERS WHEN USING REAR DEFROST.
COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER BRAKES CONTINUES. BEGAN AFTER RECALL OF MASTER CYLINDER. POWER ASSIST IS LOST AND BRAKES REQUIRE 2 FEET TO STOP THE TRUCK. ONLY HAPPENS ON RAINING DAYS. DEALER WAS ABLE TO REPRODUCE AND REPLACED PRESSURE SWITCH WHICH HAS NOT CORRECTED IT. LAST NIGHT BRAKES FAILED 4 TIMES ON COMMUTE HOME. HAD TO PULL OFF ROAD TO AVOID COLLISION AND CAUSED ME TO BLOW OUT TIRE HITTING SOMETHING ON SIDE OF ROAD. UNACCEPTABLE FORD!!!! TO DATE 500.00 FOR SWITCH AND 200.00 FOR BLOWN TIRE. NO POINT IN RETURNING TO DEALER UNLESS IT IS RAINING BECAUSE WITHOUT A CODE OR ACTIVE FAULT TECHNICIANS ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE. NEED FORD ENGINEERING TO FIGURE THIS OUT BEFORE SERIOUS INJURY.
6 POWER BRAKE FAILURES IN LESS THAN 1 MONTH. FIRST TIME TO DEALER COULD NOT FIND ISSUE. AFTER 4 MORE FAILURES THEY WERE ABLE TO REPRODUCE. BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES EXTREMELY HARD AND DIFFICULT TO STOP TRUCK. HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. THEY REPLACED BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE SWITCH AND SAID IT WAS FIXED. IT IS NOT, FAILED TWICE TODAY. ALL 6 FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED AFTER MC WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALL. BRAKE SYSTEM IS UNSAFE!!!!
DRIVING IN HEAVY 5 LANE TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 50-55 MILES AN HOUR, IN THE 3RD LANE FROM THE RIGHT ON I580 EAST. I ACCELERATED TO GET INTO THE EXPRESS LANE AND WHEN I WAS STARTING TO MERGE SUDDENLY THERE WAS NO POWER. IT DIDN'T MATTER HOW MUCH I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL IT HAD NO POWER. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I HAD TO QUICKLY SIGNAL AND COASTED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. THERE WAS A WRENCH ICON ON THE DASH AND A WARNING THAT THE TRUCK WAS STUCK IN 4X4. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND AFTER READING THE MANUAL, I STARTED THE TRUCK AND ALL SEEMED FINE UNTIL I TRIED TO MERGE AGAIN AND AGAIN NO POWER FROM THE GAS PEDAL. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A FORD DEALER.
WHEN REMOTE START WAS USED WHEN IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE THE BACK GLASS BUSTED. NO RECALL ON THE TRUCK. HAD TO FILE ON INSURANCE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. WE HAVE FOUND THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A LOT OF FORD F150 YEAR 2010-2015 TRUCKS.
ELECTRONIC STEERING MODULE FAILED RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO STREER.
DRIVING DOWN ROAD AND LOST POWER STEERING. TOOK ALL MY STRENGTH TO STEER TRUCK. PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED ALSO LOST TURN SIGNAL, HEADLIGHTS DIDN'T WORK. TWO MESSAGES CAME UP, CHECK TRACTION CONTROL AND LOW BATTERY POWER SAVE MODE. MIGHT OF BEEN OTHER THINGS NOT WORKING BUT DIDN'T CHECK FOR ANYTHING ELSE. DROVE IT TO FORD DEALER. AGAIN TOOK ALL MY STRENGTH TO TURN STEERING WHEEL. WAS DRIVING DOWN STRAIGHT ROAD ABOUT 20 MPH. VERY LUCKY DIDN'T HAPPEN ON CORNER OR WHEN WIFE DRIVING IT.
WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER WHO IS SEATED PROPERLY AND WEARING SEATBELT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT OCCASIONALLY COMES ON AND WILL STAY ON FOR DIFFERENT TIME FRAMES SOMETIMES MINUTES OR AN ENTIRE TRIP BEFORE TURNING ITSELF BACK ON. WE HAVE BROUGHT THE ISSUE TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND ON BOTH OCCASIONS WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY TESTED THE SYSTEM AND THAT IT IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WE HAVE ALSO HAD A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR WHERE THE TIRE WAS VISIBLY LOW, AND WHEN CHECKED WAS OVER 15 LBS LOW SOMETIMES 20 LBS BUT THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING NEVER CAME ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WITH THE SAME TIRE SENSOR AND EACH TIME WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS PURCHASED THROUGH AND EACH TIME WE HAVE BEEN ASSURED THAT THE SENSORS ARE WORKING PROPERLY. YET I HAVE HAD THE REAR TIRE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BE LOW 5 LBS AND THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS LOW. THE TIRE STATES 44LBS AS THE RECOMMENDATION FOR MAXIMUM INFLATION, THEY ARE THE PROPER TIRES FOR THE VEHICLE, AND 25 PERCENT WOULD BE AT LEAST 11 LBS LOW IS MY UNDERSTANDING. YET WHEN I ASKED IF THERE IS A CERTAIN LOSS OF PRESSURE THAT WE SHOULD BE INFORMED BY WE WERE TOLD NO THAT SOME TIRES MIGHT JUST SENSE IT SOONER THAN OTHER BUT THAT THEY WERE ALL WORKING PROPERLY. WE JUST WANTED TO EXPRESS OUR CONCERNS AS WE HOPE THAT THESE SYSTEMS WILL FUNCTION PROPERLY IF THEY ARE NEEDED IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.
MY DOOR LATCH AND STRIKER ARE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. THE DOOR RATTLES GOING DOWN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THIS. MY CONCERN IS IT SEEMS TO BE SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEM WITH MY FORD FUSION. THE DEALERSHIP IN REQUESTING $535 TO REPAIR. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE PART OF A RECALL. DRIVERS DOOR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTED FROM SIX TO THIRD GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE CONTACT HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE ALL THE WAY TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER AND THE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM, CAMSHAFT, TIMING BELT, AND TIMING CHAIN WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.
PUT THE REAR DEFROSTER ON FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. STARTED TO DRIVE DOWN MY ROAD HEARD A POP SOUND. STOPPED LOOKED IN REAR, DRIVERS SIDE SECTION OF WINDOW WAS SHATTERED (SLIDER). THANK GOD MY GRANDCHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE BACK SEAT.
AFTER TURNING ON THE REAR DEFROSTER FOR ABOUT 2-3 MINUTES THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. (IF LOOKING FROM BEHIND ITS THE FAR RIGHT OUT OF THE 3 PART WINDOW. ) ITURNED IT ON AND DROVE ON A STRAIGHT ROAD FOR 1/4 TO 1/2 MILE AT APROX 35 MPH. WE HEARD A LOUD POP/BANG AND LOOKED AROUND AND FOUND THE SHATTERED WINDOW. NO PUNCTURE MARK OR HOLE FROM ANY OBJECT HITTING IT. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ACCORDING TO REVIEWS AND NEWS ARTICLES AS THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE DEFROSTER OVER HEATING. LUCKILY IT STAYED IN THE WINDOW SO WE DO NOT HAVE GLASS EVERY WHERE BUT IT COULD FLY OUT EVERY WHERE AT ANY SECOND. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A CHILD IN THE BACK.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE MOVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. POWER STEERING RETURNS AND FAILS OFF AND ON REPEATEDLY. VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM, BUT DID NOT INCLUDE THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. STEERING ALSO FAILS ON CITY STREETS AND COMES OFF AND ON WITH NO DEFINED PATTERN. CPSC:PURCHASED NEW VEHICLE IN 2014 FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. AT MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED TIRE REPLACEMENT INTERVAL, ONE OF THE RIMS WAS FOUND TO HAVE MANUFACTURING DEFECT. UPDATED 4/15/2017*JS
FACTORY RIM HAS DEFECTIVE VALVE STEM RETAINER HOLE. RIM COULD FAIL AT ANY TIME DURING STRESS OR HIGH PRESSURE LEADING TO SUDDEN AIR DECOMPRESSION. VALVE STEM RETAINER HOLE WAS MIS-DRILLED DURING MANUFACTURING. THIS DEFECT COULD BE PRESENT ON MANY VEHICLES. THIS DEFECT WAS FOUND AT THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED TIRE REPLACEMENT INTERVAL.
MY TRUCKS TPMS IS FAULTY AND NOT WORKING AS REQUIRED. I HAVE HAD THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN FRISCO, TX LOOK AT IT SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED A REPAIR. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT ACTIVATE OR "DISPLAY" A TROUBLE LIGHT UNTIL THE PRESSURE IN A TIRE GOES BELOW 18PSI. THAT IS ALMOST FLAT ON A 1/2 TON PICKUP TRUCK GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT 65MPH. THEY TRIED REMOVING THE WHEELS AND REPLACING THEM WITH ANOTHER 2014 MODEL F-150 AND NO DIFFERENCE. THEY JUST TELL ME THAT THE SYSTEM IS WORKING CORRECTLY. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF TPMS "DIRECT" AND "INDIRECT". BOTH ARE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY THE DRIVER OF AN UNSAFE CONDITION WITH ONE OR MORE OF THE VEHICLE TIRES. THIS WAS A REQUIREMENT THAT WAS PART OF THE TREAD ACT ENACTED BY CONGRESS IN 2000. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN REPAIR THIS SAFETY COMPONENT IN MY TRUCK. I REPORTED TO BBB AUTO INDUSTRY AS WELL BUT NOBODY SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FORCE FORD TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT AND I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AS WELL AS OTHERS ON THE ROAD DRIVING AS WELL. 2014 F150 ECOBOOST LOST POWER BRAKE ASSIST AT 70 MPH. RECENTLY HAD MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED UNDER RECALL PROGRAM. DEALER CAN NOT FIND ANY ISSUE WITH BRAKES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN TO LOSE ABILITY TO STOP TRUCK, NO ISSUE PRIOR TO RECALL REPLACEMENT. PEDAL BECAME HARD AND REQUIRED 2 FEET TO BRING TRUCK TO STOP. CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON AND BRAKE IDIOT LIGHT. HAD TOWED TO DEALER. UNABLE TO FIND AN ISSUE.
WHILE PULLING A TRAILER AFTER 100 MILE TRIP DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY, MY POWER STEERING AND BRAKES STOPPED WORKING . AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER IVE LEARNED THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR IS INFERIOR, CAUSING CAVITATION. IN OTHER WORDS THE FLUID OVER HEATS AND CAUSES PUMP FAILURE.
REAR DEFROSTER WORKED SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES NOT NOW IT STOPPED COMPLETELY AFRAID IT WILL START ON ITS OWN AND SHATTER MY WINDOW I HAVE MY TWO GRANDKIDS IN THE BACK EVERY DAY AFRAID THEY WILL BE HARMED IF IT SHATTERS OR CATCH ON FIRE DUE TO THE SHORT WHY NO RECALLS TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
