On July of 2024 I received a Safety Recall notice 24S37/NHTSA Recall 24V444. I had no issues but I went to have my vehicle verified for recall and Duval Ford said I did. After I had the recall repair was done my truck began acting erratic so I took it back to Duval Ford three times before my truck became undrivable. On 1/10/2025 Duval Ford Could not dispute my Claim. They repaired my transmission and every time I drive my truck i feel that I may have the same issues as stated in the recall letter. The didn't want to give me a warranty I only got a 12 month or 12 k miles warranty. I feel that they did not see the seriousness of the situation and I want other to know the impact that this could have on their lives.Thank you for being there for the consumer.
Backup camera is intermittent. Sometimes it works then goes to a blue screen while backing which could result in injury or death of children behind vehicle. it is available for inspection. I haven't taken it to a dealer. there is a message when it goes to the blue screen. this has been an ongoing problem for the last 2-3 years or so. I entered the current date as this has been ongoing.

The failure mileage was approximately 293,949.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 40-55 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. The power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission molded lead frame had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer related the failure to an unknown recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
My truck software was updated for the recall even though I was having no problems with the transmission. Post the software update I am having problems with jerking in the downshifting of the truck. It is very concerning as it pulls the truck very hard. The software update caused a problem that didn’t exist until it was done.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair. The contact stated that the following day after having the recall repair completed, while driving 60 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted, causing the wheels to lock up. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence at slow speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train); and the contact was informed that the recall repair needed to be performed again. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was no longer covered under the recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
The Instrument Panel Air Bag light stayed on continuously, so I was concerned that the Air Bags might be defective. When I took the vehicle to a Ford Dealership for servicing, I was told that the front passenger side seat belt pretensioner/retractor was shortened internally. I was told that unless the part was replaced, the Air Bags would not deploy upon impact. If I chose not to repair the part, I was told that the vehicle would pass our state's inspection. In order to protect my family's safety, I believed that I had not option but to replace the part. I requested that the dealership give me the defective part, which they did. I still have the defective part. That repair cost me a total of $1097.98.
Safety Recall Notice 2437 / NHTSA Recall 24V444 The transmission fails to stay in gear and downshifts into first gear while going 50-60mph. This safety recall is very unsafe unfixed. It’s hard to control while driving the vehicle and can cause the vehicle to crash/lose control. Was not completed by Simmons and Rockwell Ford Hornell NY 14843. They closed the recall claiming it was fixed. The truck is downshifting exactly how it states in the recall causing the back tires to lock up. This is a huge safety issue. The dealership is saying the recall was “fixed” but this truck has not been fixed. It is still downshifting exactly how it states in the recall. We spoke with ford and they refused to help us with advocating for our safety with our local dealership or even getting a second evaluation with another ford dealership. The ford representative even hung up on us instead of assisting us. My children ride in this truck with this safety recall. We need help advocating for us. This recall is very very serious but no one is taking it seriously. We cannot even get a technician to drive the truck to see how it downshifts. If their own technicians won’t get in this truck but they expect us to have our children in it? We need help. If a company such as ford is required to notify customers of these safety recalls but refuse to fix them or assist their customers with a resolution. There is a maintance light on but it does not read anything.
Had my tires rotated was told that I had swollen lug nuts. Ford dealer ship refuses to rotate my tires. Went to Firestone’s where I purchased the tires said that the lug nuts were swollen.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the low brake fluid warning light illuminated. After a visual inspection of the engine compartment, the contact observed that the brake fluid reservoir was extremely low. The contact refilled the brake fluid reservoir, after which he observed the brake fluid reservoir empty again and a pool of brake fluid pool underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed failures with the brake master cylinder and brake booster. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V345000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); the VIN was included, and parts were available. The contact was informed that the VIN was not covered under the Manufacturer’s extended coverage regarding the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 220,000.
After having the recall "fixed" my vehicle is driving worse. When stopped waiting for a parking spot, then mashed the accelerator to get into the parking spot, the engine reved up but the truck wouldn't move forward. I had to put the truck in park then turn the engine off then back on before it would move. Later in the day I was at a stop light, then when the light turned and i mashed the accelerator, it crawled through the stop light even though I had the gas peddle mashed all the way down. Also, I have warning lights on that haven't been on before this "fix" and my speedometer works then doesn't work. It will just quit working while driving down the road. It will not work again until I park the truck, then turn it off then back on. I contacted my local Ford dealership, and they said that wasn't their problem. However, it is since my truck had NEVER had issues until they "fixed" the recall.
When driving the transmission acts like it goes into neutral the it down shifts into 4th gear from 6th gear at highway speeds. They did do a reprogramming recall but the problem is still there after replacing the parts they said were bad
Had Ford recall 24S37 update installed on my F150 and now I have noticed my speedometer is showing 70MPH when I am actually going 60MPH.Dealership said that there was nothing they could do.Contacted Ford Motor Company and they also said there was nothing they could do.Truck was fine until update was installed. I think it is not very safe not knowing your actual speed.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). After completion of the update, while driving and shifting gear, the vehicle jerked. While in third gear, the vehicle downshifted to first gear when the accelerator pedal was depressed and shifted back to third gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the same local dealer, who referred the contact to a transmission center. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Truck down shifted from 6th to 1st on interstate while going 60-70 mph. Causing my truck to lock up and loose control
Reference Tracking # 11622306. I purchased my used F150 with 52,956 miles on 1/3/2020. Shortly after, I would occasionally notice an unusual gear downshift. Upon receiving Ford Recall 24S37 (NHTSA 24V444000) update for the powertrain control module, the check engine lite (CEL) came on. I called the Ford Recall ph#, and they told me to continue to work with the dealership that performed the update. Several times I returned to the dealership, they would reset it with diagnostics, yet repeatedly the P0299 code would return each time. Prior to the CEL coming on, the CEL was preceded by a stall on acceleration on small hill inclines, and worsened fuel mileage, and typically after towing my trailer. These things didn't occur before the update was installed. (Attachments)
Upon purchase of my vehicle, I occasionally would notice an unusual gear downshift. Then, upon receiving a Ford Recall 24S37 and NHTSA Recall 24V444000, regarding the update to the powertrain control module, I now continue to have a check engine light come on each month with the same error code. I've returned each month since the recall to Ford dealers to have the check engine light looked into further since the update, but each month the check engine light continues to return. Downshift to lower gears continues occasionally. 2 different dealers have seen the codes in the history of the vehicles computer when put through the Ford diagnostics. Invoices provided upon request, if needed.
After having my vehicle inspection was completed I learned that there was a manufacturer’s recall on the vehicle. I called Unique Ford in Goffstown, NH to schedule the software update. They were very good about scheduling the appointment, however, after they began work on the vehicle I was told their system could not connect to the computer on my vehicle and therefore they could not complete the required update. I was informed that I would have to pay for their diagnosis of the problem as it was not covered under the warranty or the recall notice. My understanding is they are responsible to install the required software update at no charge. This was not the case and the update has not been installed. What is my course of action?
Went to Grand Prairie Ford in Grand Prairie Texas. The recall was for the sudden downshift to first from any speed. Recall # 24S37 for the 6R80 transmission. Service manager said to not get the recall done as it may have a negative impact on my transmission that would cause....a sudden downshift to first gear. They also did not like the fact that I got upset with them for suggesting not to get the recall done. That would put me in a position of liability in the event of an accident. They then refused to do the recall and said if I did not leave my truck would be towed. They claimed I was too upset ... imagine. After they finally agreed to do the recall they stated they were not responsible for pretty much anything that happened after they did the recall. Grand Prairie Ford called me about three hours later and said they were having trouble with my computer. This recall campaign has just started and with over 550,000 affected trucks they should be ready for more upset customers and lawsuits. Poor business practices that border on criminal acts.
Throttle Body has failed 3 times. I am on my 4th one. 1st at 28k, 2nd 59k, 3rd 100k. Engine completely shuts down at high speed. Extremely dangerous, especially when towing. No warning given. Just stops running . Wrench icon appears on dash. Then engine shuts down immediately.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 203,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
I was driving down the INTERSTATE at 68 miles per hour when out of nowhere the truck downshifted causing the wheels to lock up. I was able to maintain control (LUCKILY) after skidding off the road and into the median where AT MINIMUM three complete circles were made. I then called for a tow truck as I did not and WILL NEVER feel comfortable driving this truck again.
My 2014 F150 XLT experienced recall S4S37. I brought the truck in for the recall after experience a sudden downshift into 1st gear while driving at 70mph. The PCM software update was installed during my first visit to my local Ford Dealership (Team Fod in Steubenville, OH). The issue occurred once more after the PCM update and team ford dismissed me after they could not replicate the issue. The sudden downshift happened twice more and I was again dismissed as team ford could not replicate the issue. After the downshift had occurred 4-6x, team ford reached out to Ford Support AT MY REQUEST to resolve the issue. They informed me I should consider replacing the lead frame. With the ongoing recall issues of the 2011-2013 F150s (which included a lead frame replacement as part of the recall), this should have been recommended at my first appointment. The sudden downshift continued over the course of 6-8months prior to team ford recommending I replace the lead frame which then led to my transmission blowing. 1. The lead frame should be included as part of recall S4S37. 2. My transmission should be covered by Ford as the ongoing sudden downshift while Team Ford failed to inform me of the correct fix inevitably resulted int he gradual deterioration of my transmission. For reference, my vehicle has 65,000miles. Ford KNOWS the lead frame was the fix for the 2011-2013 models and cheaped out on 2014 (and potentially other years) due to the quantity of vehicles that experienced this recall

Was driving to work in busy traffic about 55 mph when transmission started acting up like it was slipping in & out of gear. Felt like I lost control of the Raptor F150 so I slammed on the brakes. People were honking at me and driving erratic to avoid me and to go around me after I came to a stop. Eventually everything seemed like it was working fine again after I turned the motor on & off and shifted thru the gears a few times. The same thing happened again on the way home from work. I took it to the Ford Dealer in Temecula CA. They said it would cost me about $15,000 to fix the transmission. I paid about $80,000 for it in 2014 but they only offered $25,000 for trade in value. So I traded it in on a newer Raptor for $97,000. but when I got home I realized they gave me a 6 cylinder so I took it back, they charged me another $188,000 to drive home in a 2024 F250 Shelby the day before yesterday. They never told me my original 2014 F150 Raptor was under a recall and could have been fixed for free. I loved my original 2014 F150 but now I’m in an expensive truck with $3600 payments probably for the rest of my life. Did I get ripped off when they should have just fixed my truck for free under the recall? Thank you. I was driving my 2014 F150 truck with 5.0L engine when Brake fluid level low light came on. I tested the brakes and the pedal was soft and went almost to the floor. I added brake fluid and within 5 miles it leaked out. I had the truck towed to my parents home near where I broke down. Confirmed that master cylinder leaked fluid into brake booster. I can see there was a recall for 2014 F150 3.5L engine for this issue. Called dealer and Ford corporate and was told it did not affect 5.0. Problem is exact to recall and I believe the issue affects more vehicles than listed by Ford. Ford directed me to file complaint with NHTSA.

The brake booster failed. It is not available. The mechanic replaced it. Because the booster failed the engine was sucking the brake fluid into the intact. This caused the the brakes not to have fluid and the engine to lock up and the engine threw a rod threw the engine. The problem was diagnosed by a mechanic and parts replaced. A brand new brake master cylinder was installed and a new engine is being put in. No it has not. Yes a light came on that the engine was low on brake fluid when it happened.

My 2014 F150 was recalled for a software patch pertaining to the lead frame in the transmission because the vehicle would abruptly downshift at any speed. After having the recall performed by a dealership, it continued to have the same issue. I was told by the Service Manager the lead frame was bad but the recall did not cover the repair. For my safety I had the repair done and it cost me $1869.64. I contacted NHTSA and was told the dealership would have to contact Ford Motor Company for a warranty code to cover the cost of the repair. Ford Motor Company said the dealership should pay for the repair up front then get reimbursed by Ford Motor Company. The dealership said only NGTSA can include the lead frame in the recall so I was responsible for the cost of the repair. As of this date (1/7/2025), I'm still out $1859.64. I have the lead frame that was removed from the truck and there are no obvious defects (cracks, buildups, etc) so the issue has to be with the control mechanism within the lead frame that the software patch should have corrected. Why has the recall not been upgraded to include replacing the lead frame?
It is 2014 F150 platinum it has a recall on the transmission. I took it in. They programmed it. I left with it. It was worse. and said that they had to get my truck was there for over a month and a half after the part was put on it. The transformation was worse now it’s back in the shop again for another two weeks. They’re telling me I need a new transmission. Anybody with common sense would know that if you’re driving 60 to 70 miles an hour and your truck shifts from six gear to first gear it’s going to tear something up in the transmission. I got it out and it was hard shifting out of first and the second out of fifth and the sixth and reverse was whining. All I’m asking for is help they want me to pay $6600 for a new transmission that I don’t have I’m on disability. Please help

Without warning, the transmission on my 2014 F150XLT 5.0 will shift from either 5th or 6th gear down to 2nd gear. This causes the tachometer to nearly red line and a sudden deceleration without warning for drivers behind me by activation of the brake lights.
