THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE "PANORAMIC SUNROOF/MOONFOOF". IT HAS NEVER WORKED FLAWLESSLY SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. 3 DAYS AGO, IT OPENED AND NOW WILL NOT CLOSE. MY VEHICLE BASICALLY HAS A PERMANENT HOLE IN THE ROOF. FORD DEALER SAYS THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM AND THE ENTIRE WINDOW FRAME HAS TO COME OUT OF THE CEILING AND BE REPLACED BY THE ONE THAT FORD HAS "REDESIGNED"...BUT NO RECALL.
REAR ENTRY DOORS FREEZE OPEN AND WILL NOT LATCH. RECALL 18N03 INSTALLED ON JANUARY 25, 2019 AND BOTH DOORS FAILED TO LATCH THE NEXT DAY. DROVE TO THE DEALER USING A RATCHET STRAP TO HOLD DOORS SHUT WHERE DEALER TOOK VEHICLE INTO CHOP TO DEFROST. THIS ISSUE PERSISTS - PREVIOUS RECALL BY FORD DONE IN APRIL - AFTER WINTER SEASON. HAVE BEEN PLEADING WITH DEALER SINCE WINTER OF 2015 AND THEY SAID THEIR HANDS ARE TIED.
BELOW ABOUT 25 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, THE WINDSHIELD WASHER SYSTEM FREEZES UP AND IS UNUSABLE. THIS IS DESPITE HAVING FLUID CERTIFIED TO -45 DEGREES CENTIGRADE IN THE SYSTEM. THE FREEZE UP OCCURS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN OR IS PARKED. THE SYSTEM IS ALWAYS UNUSABLE BELOW 20 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THIS HAS BEEN A PERSISTENT PROBLEM EVERY WINTER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. I SUSPECT THIS IS A DEFECT THROUGHOUT THE MAKE/MODEL/YEAR.
I HAVE AN EXTENDED CAB 2015 F-150 PICK UP TRUCK. THE REAR SUICIDE DOORS DO NOT LATCH CLOSED WHICH LEAVES THE FRONT SEAT BELT ATTACHMENT UNATTACHED TO THE CAR WHATSOEVER. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO ED SHULTS FORD IN JAMESTOWN, NY AND THEY DETERMINED THE REAR DOOR LATCH CABLE IS STRETCHING OUT WHICH KEEPS THE DOOR FROM LATCHING. THIS IS HAPPENING ON A 3 YEAR OLD TRUCK. THE DEALER ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEY SEE THIS SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK ON OTHER F-150'S WITH THE EXTENDED CAB REAR SUICIDE DOORS. NO RECALL OR TSB HAS BEEN ISSUED SO THEY ARE CHARGING ME TO FIX THE CABLE AND LATCH. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME. THE DOORS NEED TO LATCH, HOW LONG WILL THIS "FIX" LAST FOR? THE TRUCK IS 3 YEARS OLD, I SHOULD NOT NEED TO REPLACE DOOR CABLES ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR EVER, LET ALONE WITHIN 3 YEARS FROM BEING PRODUCED. THE DOOR CABLE IS INTERNAL TO THE DOOR AND NOT AFFECTED BY SWINGING THE DOOR OPEN. I AM ASKING FOR FORD TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN AND PROVIDE ALL CUSTOMERS WITH A SAFE, LONG TERM FIX FOR THIS DOOR LATCH MECHANISM ON 2015 F-150'S WITH REAR SUICIDE DOORS.
WIPERS TURN ON AND STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. ROAD CONDITIONS HAD NO EFFECT. THE COURTESY WIPER WAS TURNED OFF. EVEN THOUGH THE WIPER SWITCH WAS TURNED OFF THE WIPERS WOULD STILL COME ON AND STAY ON. I TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY SAID THE WIPER SWITCH WAS BAD. CHARGED ME $300 TO MAKE THE REPAIR. FORD TECHNICIAN SAID THE SWITCH IN THE STEERING COLUMN WENT BAD. OF COARSE THIS HAPPENED AT 41,000 MILES AND FORD DECLINED TO WARRANTY IT.
P2112 OBD ERROR CODE - THROTTLE BODY CLOSED - WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED - IN THIS CASE ON THE HIGHWAY - ENGINE WOULD DROP TO LIMP MODE, VARIOUS ERRORS DISPLAY ON DASH. HAVE TO PULL OVER, SHUT OFF ENGINE, THEN RESTART IT TO RESET. KNOW ISSUE WITH NUMEROUS FORD F150 ECOBOOST AND MUSTANG GAS ENGINES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF I CANNOT PULL OFF TO THE SIDE TO SHUT OFF THE MOTOR. VERY HIGH POSSIBILITY OF GETTING REAR-ENDED BY OTHER FAST MOVING CARS POTENTIALLY CAUSING HARM TO DRIVER AND OTHERS.
DOOR HINGES FREEZING CAUSING DOORS TO NOT LATCH AND OPEN WHILE DRIVING.
DOOR LATCHES FREEZE DURING COLD WEATHER. CAN NOT OPEN DOORS OR CAN NOT GET DOORS TO CLOSE ONCE OPENED. I HAVE HAD ALL RECALLS AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAMS PREFORMED. DEALER HAS NO OTHER FIX OPTIONS AVAILABLE FROM FORD. ALL 2015 F150'S EXPOSED TO COLD CLIMATES HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR DOOR LATCHES TO FREEZE. FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE WITH DOOR OR DOORS UNABLE TO CLOSE AT TIMES. I DON'T THINK A RATCHET STRAP HOLDING DOORS CLOSED IS SAFE. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN CONTINUING FOR THE PAST THREE WINTERS. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW WHEN THE LATCHES WILL OR WILL NOT WORK.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN PARKING LOT. TRUCK BED ILLUMINATION LIGHTS ON THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY OVER HEATED AND MELTED THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE DOORS ARE OPEN, AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THEM OFF WITHOUT CLOSING THE DOORS.
WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID DISPENSER FREEZES EVEN WITH -30 DEGREE FLUID IN IT. IT BECOMES VERY DANGEROUS FOR VISIBILITY WHEN SNOW, SLUSH OR SOMETHING HIT THE WINDSHIELD. IT HAPPENS ANYTIME IN LOW TEMPS AND DOES NOT DEFOREST EVEN WHEN THE TRUCK HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ERRATIC.
MY FORD F150 SOMETIMES PULLS TO THE LEFT WITHOUT TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AND COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF THE CERTAIN PULLING TO THE LEFT.ONE MUST PAY ATTENTION WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 30-55 MILES PER HOUR. I KNOW IT PULLS WHEN THE ROAD IS DRY AND POSSIBLY WHEN IT IS WET WITHOUT NOTICING IT. IT DOES IT SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE AS WELL.
IN NORMAL DRIVING OPERATIONS, THE 6 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS A INCREDIBLY STIFF DOWNSHIFT FROM 5TH GEAR TO 4TH GEAR. IN SLICK CONDITIONS CAN CAUSE THE TRUCK TO LOSE TRACTION.
A/C COMPRESSOR AND EVAPORATOR ASSEMBLY FAILED ON A 2015 TRUCK WITH 50K MILES! JUST OUT OF THE BLUE THE A/C COMPRESSOR STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE AND SUBSEQUENTLY FAILED VERY SHORTLY THEREAFTER. HAD TO GET IT REPLACED. IN CONNECTION WITH THIS PROBLEM, THE EVAPORATOR ASSEMBLY FAILED AS WELL AND WAS LEAKING FREON INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. HAD TO GET THAT REPLACED. $2K WORTH OF REPAIRS - UNBELIEVABLE. A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THIS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE - THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!
I JUST RETURNED FROM MY FORD DEALERSHIP TODAY AFTER MY F-150 STOPPED COLD AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE WHILE I ACCELERATED UP A HILL ON HWY 78 IN RED LODGE, MT. THE DASH LIT UP WITH A HILL DESCENT CONTROL AND SEVERAL OTHER ERROR MESSAGES. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC IF I HAD BEEN ACCELERATING WHILE PASSING. THE FORUMS ARE FULL OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND DEALERSHIPS KNOW THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A SAFETY RECALL.
I BOUGHT MY 2015 FORD F150 SUPER CAB TRUCK USED IN JULY 2015. SINCE DECEMBER 2018 THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR'S (FRONT & BACK) WILL NOT OPEN WHEN ICE OR WATER IS PRESENT BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES. IF AND WHEN I CAN GET THEM OPEN THEY WILL NOT LATCH BACK. SO FAR THIS WINTER THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN DECEMBER 2018 WHILE VISITING AT A HOSPITAL IN MUNCIE, INDIANA. AFTER VISITING FOR SEVERAL HOURS THE TEMPERATURE HAD DROPPED. I UNLOCKED THE DOORS WITH THE REMOTE AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THEN AFTER I PULLED HARD SEVERAL TIMES IT FINALLY OPENED BUT WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR T WOULD NOT LATCH. AFTER MANY UNSUCCESSFUL TRIES AT GETTING THE DOORS TO LATCH I HAD TO WRAP MY BELT THROUGH THE TOPS OF THE OPENED WINDOWS TO HOLD THE DOORS CLOSED. THE DOOR OPEN ALARM THEN CONTINUED TO SOUND FOR THE TWO AND ONE HALF DRIVE HOME. IT HAD RAINED EARLIER IN THE DAY BUT THEN WITH TEMPERATURE AT ABOUT 28 DEG., THEY FROZE UP. THE NEXT THREE TIMES THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT OVER NIGHT, FINDING THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE MORNING. I COULDN'T USE THE TRUCK SAFELY SO IT SAT IN THE DRIVEWAY UNTIL IT THAWED. THE LAST (FIFTH) TIME I RAN THE ENGINE AND HEATER FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO LATCH. HERE IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO LET A VEHICLE RUN WHILE UNATTENDED. I DID GET AN OFFICIAL LOOKING QUESTIONNAIRE IN THE MAIL AND I SENT IT TO ADVANTAGE FORD IN CONNERSVILLE, INDIANA (I THINK). I SHOULD HAVE KEPT A COPY FOR MYSELF. THIS IS NOT ONLY AN INCONVENIENCE BUT VERY UNSAFE.
2 F150 SAFETY RECALLS: PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT AND DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM. CONTACTED GULLO FORD CONROE TX, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO CHEDUJE RECALL REPAIRS DUE TO INABILITY TO MAINTAIN STOCK AND WERE NOT ABLE TO EVEN SCHEDULE THE REPAIRS. VERY DIS-SATISFIED W THE RESPONSE AND OVER ALL MANAGEMENT OF THE REPAIRS. NO SENSE OF URGENCY AND CONCERN ABOUT THE CRITICALITY OF THE RECALLS.
WIPERS STUCK IN LOWEST INTERMITTENT POSITION. WILL NOT TURN OFF. WILL NOT RELIABLIY CHANGE SPEEDS.
MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. IT WAS FREEZING TEMPS THAT DAY, AND FIGURED IT WAS RELATED TO NHTSA RECALL # 17V652. I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNLOCKED. IT WAS STUCK AT THE BOTTOM HINGE. SO I TOOK IT TO THE MCLARTY FOOD DEALERSHIP IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR. THEY HAD MY TRUCK THERE ALL DAY. SINCE THEY COULDN'T OPEN THE DOOR, THEY SAID IT WASN'T RELATED TO THE RECALL. THEY ALSO TRIED TO SAY IT WAS A RESULT OF A COLLISION. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. I INFORMED THEM THAT MY TRUCK WAS IN A COLLISION OVER A YEAR AND HALF AGO, BUT THE TRUCK WAS COMPLETED FIXED AT THEIR MCLARTY COLLISION CENTER WITH NEW FORD OEM PARTS. I EVEN STATED THAT THE RECALL DESCRIPTION EVEN STATED THAT THE DOOR COULD BECOME UNABLE TO OPEN BECAUSE OF A BENT DOOR LATCH CABLE. THEY STILL REFUSED TO FIX IT UNLESS I PAID THEM $130 DIAGNOSTIC FEE. BECAUSE I STILL HAD A WARRANTY ON THE COLLISION REPAIR WORK, I TOOK IT BACK TO COLLISION COMPANY. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE DOOR OFF IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES. AS PREDICTED, A DOOR LATCH CABLE WAS MY ISSUE. THE COLLISION PEOPLE EVEN AGREED IT WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL, AND SENT ME A PICTURE OF THE BENT CABLE.
TRUCK UNEXPECTEDLY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON STATE HIGHWAY. DASH LIT UP WITH SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, HILL DESCENT FAULT, SEE MANUAL, AIRBAG FAULT, AND THE SERVICE WRENCH. IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO LIMP MODE. TURNED ENGINE OFF, RESTARTED AND CONTINUED DRIVING.
WAS DRIVING ON ROAD WITH 35MPH SPEED LIMIT, LOOKED DOWN AT SPEEDOMETER AND SAID I WAS GOING 85, EVER SINCE THE SPEEDOMETER IS STUCK BETWEEN 35 AND 95, WHEN STOPPED IT LAYS AT 35-40MPH. HAVE READ MANY OTHERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES.
RE: CAMPAIGN 17V652000. FROZEN DOORS/LOCKS. VEHICLE HAS HAD BOTH THE RECALL 17V652000 AND SERVICE ACTION 18N03 PERFORMED, ISSUE STILL EXISTS. DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE AND LATCH, DOORS WILL NOT OPEN, LOCK MECHANISMS WILL NOT FUNCTION WHEN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE PRESENT, ESPECIALLY AFTER PRECIPITATION. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN ISSUE OCCURRED, HOWEVER DOOR COULD HAVE EASILY OPENED IF I HAD NOT REALIZED IT WASN'T LATCHED WHEN IT APPEARED TO BE. FORD DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE A SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE, OR ISN'T SERIOUS ABOUT PROVIDING PERMANENT REMEDY. ISSUE HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN WEATHER CONDITIONS APPLY.
3 SERIES OF INCIDENTS INVOLVING THE SAME PROBLEM. IN JANUARY OF 2018 I IDENTIFIED A PROBLEM WHERE THE ENGINE JUST DIES UNDER ACCELERATION AND 3 DIFFERENT WARNINGS APPEAR 1) HILL CLIMB ASSIST ERROR 2) SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC SYSTEM 3) SERVICE ENGINE, SEE OWNERS MANUAL. ON JAN 10, 2018 DEALER COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. SITUATION HAPPENED AGAIN IN EARLY APRIL OF 2018 AND THIS TIME THEY IDENTIFIED THE THROTTLE BODY. IT WAS REPLACED AND ISSUE SEEMED TO BE RESOLVED. ISSUE RESURFACED AGAIN ON DEC 7TH 2018 ALMOST CAUSING A SERIOUS TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED WITH DEALERSHIP ON WED DEC 12 2018. ALL 3 OCCURRENCES ALMOST RESULTED IN ACCIDENTS ONE NEARLY A BROADSIDE AS I TURNED LEFT ACROSS TRAFFIC WHEN THE ENGINE DIED. I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH AND FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE ACCORDING TO THE DEALER SERVICE PERSON. THIS WAS REPORTED AFTER EARLIER INCIDENT AND THE COMPLAINT NUMBER IS 11083485
DOORS OF THE VEHICLE FREEZE UP AND DON'T OPEN OR AFTER OPENING, THEY DONT SHUT SECURELY. I RECENTLY HAD TO DRIVE TO MY DESTINATION WHILE HOLDING THE DRIVERS DOOR IN A CLOSED POSITION WHILE DRIVING. DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH UNTIL LATER IN THE DAY. TEMPERATURES WERE NOT BELOW FREEZING OUTSIDE. THIS IS AM EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH FOR THREE YEARS ON ALL MY DOORS, WITH NO PROPER FIX FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
THE PLATINUM TRIM VERSION INCLUDES RETRACTABLE RUNNING BOARDS. THESE FAIL TO DEPLOY ON OCCASION AND HAVE RESULTED IN BOTH MY WIFE AND I STUMBLING WHEN GETTING OUT AND EXPECTING THE RUNNING BOARD TO BE DEPLOYED. IT WILL ALSO DEPLOY AND THEN IMMEDIATELY RETRACT WITHOUT WARNING. IN THE BEST, ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER WOULD DEPLOY AND THEN IMMEDIATELY RETRACT. DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT FIX. LAST NIGHT MY WIFE OPENED THE PASSENGER DOOR, THE RUNNING BOARD DEPLOYED, AND AS I WIFE ATTEMPTED TO STEP ON IT, IT RETRACTED WHICH COULD HAVE PINNED HER LEG. EARLIER THAT EVENING SHE WENT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND STUMBLED AFTER EXPECTING THE RUNNING BOARD TO BE DEPLOYED. IT HAD DEPLOYED BUT IMMEDIATELY RETRACTED. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.
DOOR LATCH NOT WORKING IN FREEZING CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 12,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALER THREE TIMES (TWO UNDER RECALL) FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH EITHER WHILE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION CAUSING IT TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING ( I'VE HAD TO USE A BUNGEE CORD ON OCCASION) AND IT ALSO MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. FORD'S "FIXES" ARE NOT SATISFACTORY AND THIS IS A SAFETY AND SECURITY ISSUE.
MY 2015 FORD F150 LARIAT HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC TAILGATE RELEASE. TAILGATE OPENS WHEN NOT SUPPOSED TO. OPENS WHEN TRUCK IS STARTED, DURING DRIVING, AND WHEN TRUCK IS TURNED OFF. HAS HAPPENED FOR THE PAST 60 DAYS. TRUCK IS BEYOND WARRANTY AND NO RECALL NOTED. TAILGATE COMES OPEN WHILE TOWING TRAILER, CAUSING ISSUES. WHEN I TOW A TRAILER I HAVE TO PULL FUSE FOR TAILGATE RELEASE SO THAT IT DOES NOT DROP DURING DRIVING. VERY ANNOYING AND DANGEROUS. MOSTLY DO HIGHWAY DRIVING. CLICKING NOISE ON PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR WHEN TAILGATE IS CLOSED, TAILGATE WILL STAY CLOSED WHEN DOOR IS LOCKED. ONCE DOORS ARE UNLOCKED TAILGATE OPENS. NEED TO STEP OUT OF TRUCK, WHILE DOOR IS OPEN I LOCK THE DOORS, WALK TO TAILGATE CLOSE IT, RUN BACK TO DRIVERS SEAT, CLOSE DRIVERS DOOR AND PRESS DOOR LOCK BUTTON AGAIN TO KEEP TAILGATE LOCKED. WORKS SOMETIMES, OTHER TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING AND THE TAILGATE OPENS DURING DRIVING.
WHILE DRIVING ON I76 IN PA. TRUCK LOST POWER WITH NO WARNING AND COASTED TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT WOULD NOT RESTART. TOWED TO FORD DEALER WHO IDENTIFIED CONTROL UNIOT FAILURE AND FUEL PUMP FAILURE. BITH HAD TO BE REPAIRED. VEHICLE HAD 82850 MILES.
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE HILL START ASSIST/TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON. A FEW HUNDRED MILES LATER, MORE DASH LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND THEN ALL DASH LIGHTS WENT OFF AND THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER. I COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. AFTER A MOMENT, IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN. AFTER A FEW MORE MILES, IT DID IT AGAIN, AND THIS TIME WHEN IT POWERED DOWN, THE ABS BREAK SYSTEM WENT ON AND CREATED A TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISE AND BROUGHT ME TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I LIMPED IT ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, TRYING TO FIND AN EXIT, AND THE TRUCK REPEATEDLY DID THE LIGHTS FLASHING/POWER DOWN/BREAKS APPLIED SEVERAL MORE TIMES AT LOW SPEED. THE NEAREST EXIT WAS ABOUT 10 MILES, SO I HAD TO CONTINUE TO DO THIS FOR SOME TIME. ONCE I WAS AT AN EXIT, I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. WHEN I RE-CONNECTED THE BATTERY AND STARTED THE TRUCK, EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE, BUT NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I DECIDED TO JUST RISK IT AND KEEP DRIVING, SO THAT I COULD GET HOME. ABOUT 100 MILES LATER IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO HOME TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TAKE BACK ROADS HOME. IT DID IT A FEW MORE TIMES AND THEN QUIT DOING IT. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, AS MY TRUCK BASICALLY STOPPED WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH, AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT, AND LEFT ME NO OPTION BUT TO EITHER BE BROKEN DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY OR DRIVE AT VERY LOW SPEEDS ON THE SHOULDER. THE FORD DEALER THAT I TOOK THE TRUCK TO TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND ALL DIAGNOSTICS COME BACK CLEAN, SO THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX ANYTHING. OTHERS ONLINE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME/SIMILAR ISSUE HAVE SAID THAT FORD SAID THAT IT IS A DAMAGED THROTTLE BODY THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I WENT TO DID NOT SUGGEST THAT AS THE CAUSE.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, THE TRUCK WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" AND I ALMOST LOST TOTAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ON BOTH OCCASIONS. THIS HAPPENED TWO TIMES DURING THE SAME TRIP. THE ACCELERATOR WOULDN'T WORK, POWER STEERING WENT OUT, AND ALL STABILIZATION CONTROL SYSTEMS WENT DOWN. I HAD TO PULL OVER A P2112 CODE WAS READ FROM THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE PROBLEM IS FROM A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY WHICH MANY, MANY CONSUMERS HAVE REPORTED. FORD DENIES RESPONSIBILITY. THIS TRUCK COST $63,000 AND HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. THE FAILURE OF THIS PART IS CAUSING WIDESPREAD RISK TO DRIVERS AND SHOULD BE FORCED ON FORD TO REPLACE WITH A LASTING PART.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY ROAD WHEN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED ON 11/13. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WOULD GO DARK FOR A MINUTE AND THEN COME BACK ON FOR A FEW SECONDS, DURING WHICH I RECEIVED NUMEROUS WARNING MESSAGES. WHEN THE SYSTEM WAS OUT, THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY WAS DEAD AND POWER STEERING WAS OFFLINE. I STARTED TO RECEIVE WARNING MESSAGES ABOUT THE CHARGING SYSTEM ON 11/6. I BROUGHT IT TO THREE DIFFERENT PLACES BEFORE IT FAILED. ON 11/6 ADVANCE AUTO PARTS TOLD ME IT WAS FINE. THE LIGHT WENT AWAY AND LATER RETURNED.ON 11/8 AUTOZONE SAID THE BATTERY NEEDED A CHARGE. 11/9 MONRO SAID THE ALTERNATOR MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER MONRO, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FORD. FIRST AVAILABLE WAS 11/14. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AFTER NOT DRIVING THE TRUCK 11/10-11/12. AFTER THE INCIDENT, I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO FORD FOR SERVICE. THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY AND RELUCTANTLY TOLD ME THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. APPARENTLY, ONE OR MORE OF THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE ALTERNATOR HAD BEEN SEVERED BY RUBBING AGAINST THE HOUSING MEANT TO PROTECT THEM. THE TRUCK WAS ONLY 3.5 YEARS OLD AND HAD FEWER THAN 15,000 MILES ON IT. FORD REFUSED TO COVER IT AS IT WAS 6 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE SEEMS TO BE EITHER A DESIGN FLAW OR A QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE. IF EITHER OF THOSE ARE THE CASE, A RECALL MAY BE NECESSARY.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ROTATE THE TIRES BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT REMOVE THE LUG NUTS WITHOUT BEING DAMAGED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TRUCK GOES INTO LIMP MODE CONSTANT IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD FOR ALL. THROWS THROTTLE BODY CODE. ACCORDING TO DEALER ITS NOT COVERED IN YHE RECALL OR WHATEVER FORD CALLED IT BUT ITS GONNA GET US KILLED.
REPEAT ISSUE- THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED BY FORD FOR SAME LATCH FREEZING PROBLEM TWICE THROUGH RECALL AND WARRANTY FIXES WITH NO RESOLUTION. VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE DOOR LATCH BECAME STUCK AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE OUTDOOR TEMP WAS 29 DEGREES, AND THE DOOR LOCK WAS FROZEN. AFTER HEATING THE TRUCK FOR 20 MINUTES, LATCH UNFROZE AND BEGAN WORKING. VIDEO IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

I STARTED THE TRUCK WITH THE REMOTE START TO LET IT WARM UP. AFTER AROUND 3 TO 5 MINUTES WE WENT TO GET IN AND NOTICED SMOKE AND A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE BACK SEAT. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND INSPECTED THE AREA THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM AND NOTICED THE INSULATION WAS BURNED FROM THE WIRE AND MY BACK WINDOW HAD CRACKS OVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE. I BELIEVE THE REAR DEFROST SHORTED OUT

ELECTRICAL POWER CONNECTOR FOR REAR SLIDING WINDOW DEFROSTER BROKE AT ITS ATTACHMENT (FACTORY SOLDERED) POINT TO THE REAR SLIDING WIDOW GLASS. THIS LEAVES THE DEFOGGER INOPERABLE AND ELIMINATES REAR VISIBILITY DUE TO FOG/FROST/ICE BUILD-UP. VEHICLE IS JUST OUT OF ITS 3 YEAR WARRANTY AND HAS LESS THAN 28,000 MILES. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SERVICE IS UNWILLING TO RECOGNIZE/CORRECT THE FACTORY DEFECT AND CLAIMED TO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF SIMILAR ISSUES FOR THE 2015 MODEL. THIS DEFECT IS APPARENTLY SIMILAR TO THAT WHICH FORD HAS RECOGNIZED FOR SIMILAR 2013 MODELS, ISSUING A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (FORD TSB ASI-32259)
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL ABILITY TO BRAKE. THE FOOT PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE OR ACTION ON THE VEHICLE. THE PARKING BRAKE ALSO FAILED ALL ABILITY TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP THE VEHICLE. BY SOME MIRACLE I WAS ABLE TO GET IN THE EMERGENCY LANE AND LET THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY SLOW DOWN AND COME TO A STOP. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKES HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT HIGHWAY, WITH NO OBSTACLES OF ANY TYPE ON THE ROAD AND NO EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A VIDEO TAKEN WHILE WAITING ON THE TOW TRUCK, SHOWING THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR.
CATASTROPHIC / COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE WILL MOVING. BRAKE PEDDLE WENT TO FLOOR WHILE EXITING HIGHWAY. SECONDS BEFORE APPLYING BRAKES, "LOW BRAKE FLUID" WARNING CAME ON. THANKFULLY IT WAS A LONG EXIT RAMP AND WAS ABLE TO STOP VEHICLE WITH DOWN SHIFTING AND EMERGENCY BRAKE. VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!! NO PRIOR INDICATION OF PROBLEM. INSPECTED FLUID AND IT WAS BELOW MINIMUM. VEHICLE HAD BE SERVICED 2 WEEKS PRIOR AND ALL FLUIDS FULL. ADDED FLUID AND PUMPING BRAKES SEVERAL TIME, FLUID WAS EMPTY AGAIN. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN AND THE HILL DESCENT CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES, I TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE TO BE TESTED AND THE ERROR CODE - P2112 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM- THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. AFTER RESEARCHING, I CAME TO FIND OUT THIS IS HAPPENING TO THOUSANDS OF FORD VEHICLES. FORD HAD A RECALL ON SOME VEHICLES FOR THIS, BUT IF YOUR MAKE AND MODEL WAS NOT ON THERE THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST. FORD KNOWS THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM, BUT WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME (IF NOT HAPPENED ALREADY) THAT THERE WILL BE A FATALITY DUE TO THIS BODY THROTTLE ISSUE. WE AS CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT OUR VEHICLE RANDOMLY DYING ON THE ROADS, WORRY ABOUT KILLING SOMEONE ELSE OR OUR OWN FAMILIES JUST TO COMMUTE. FORD SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
SINCE JUNE 2018 I BEGAN TO NOTICE A SMELL INSIDE THE CABIN OF MY TRUCK. THE SMELL CAN BE DESCRIBED AS A WET GYM SOCK AND SEEMED TO COME AROUND WHEN I USED THE A/C. I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY COULD LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE SMELL. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS COMING FROM MY A/C UNIT AND CHECKED THE DRAIN HOSE AND FOUND NOTHING, BUT SAID IT WAS PROBABLY MILDEW IN THE HOUSE. THEY SPRAYED THE HOSE WITH A DISINFECTANT AND IT SEEMED TO STOP THE ODOR. IN AUGUST THE SMELL RETURNED AND I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE SMELL WAS VERY STRONG WHEN RUNNING THE A/C WHEN IT WAS RAINING OR AFTER IT HAD JUST RAINED. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND TOLD THEM WAS I WAS NOTICING AND ASKED IF THAT WOULD HELP PINPOINT THE CAUSE. THEY RELATED THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND EVENTUALLY CALLED IN SEPTEMBER AND SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM BUT WANTED TO VEHICLE. I AGAIN TOOK THE TRUCK INTO FORD WHO FINALLY LOCATED THE PROBLEM, THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT. THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS ALLOWING WATER TO GET IN AND TRAVEL INTO THE PLASTIC TUBE THAT GOES INTO MY VEHICLE AND DOWN TO THE REAR RIGHT SEAT. THE PLASTIC TUBE HOLD THE WIRING FOR THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT. THE TECHNICIAN RELATED THAT WHEN HE FELT UNDERNEATH THE FLOOR MY CARPET WAS SOAKED. THEY EVENTUALLY PEELED BACK MY CARPET AND CLEANED IT UP USING A DEHUMIDIFIER AND DETAILING SERVICES. THEY THEN REPLACED THE THIRD BRAKE. NONE OF THE ABOVE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND HAD TO PAY ALL COSTS THOUGH IT SOUNDS TO ME THAT THE 2015 FORD HAS THE SAME THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE AS THE 2009 FORD. MY SERVICE MANAGER RELATED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN RECEIVING MULTIPLE CALLS REGARDING SAME ISSUE BEING CAUSED BY THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT OR SUNROOF IN F150S.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V568000 (SEAT BELTS, STRUCTURE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,178.
