TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM BASS FORD (4032 W HOUSTON HARTE EXPY, SAN ANGELO, TX 76901, (325) 949-4621) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,300. *TT*JB
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON FREEWAY AT 75 MPH, "BRAKE FLUID LOW" WARNING CAME ON DASHBOARD FOLLOWED BY COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITIES. ROAD CONDITIONS ALLOWED TIME FOR VEHICLE TO SLOW ITS VELOCITY, FOLLOWED BY USE OF EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. THIS VEHICLE HAD NO HISTORY OF BRAKING PROBLEMS OR ISSUES.
COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES. LOSS OF FLUID. THANKFULLY IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE MY HOUSE SO I WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. WHEN I POPPED THE HOOD AND LOOKED AT MASTER CYLINDER THE FLUID WAS ALMOST GONE.
INTERMITTENT GRINDING NOISE FROM INTEGRATED WHEEL ENDS AND MULTIPLE REPLACEMENTS OF WHEEL HUBS THAT HAVE FAILED TO PERMANENTLY FIX THE PROBLEM. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SERVICED ON 09-20-18 AND DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED 4X4 CHECK VALVE. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED AND RETURNED TO THE SHOP ON 10-16-18 WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS FAILED WHEEL BEARINGS/HUB ASSEMBLY. THE PROBLEM WAS TEMPORARILY FIXED UNTIL IT RETURNED AGAIN AND TRUCK RETURNED TO SHOP ON 03-22-2019. THE SHOP AGAIN REPLACED THE WHEEL BEARINGS/HUB ASSEMBLY. THE PROBLEM WAS TEMPORARILY RESOLVED AGAIN UNTIL THE FRONT END NOISE RETURNED AGAIN IN NOVEMBER 2019. THE TRUCK IS SCHEDULED FOR THE SAME SERVICE ON 12-11-2019.
ALL AMERICAN FORD IN PARAMUS NJ WILL NOT SUPPLY A LOANER VEHICLE FOR A RECALL THAT WILL TAKE SEVERAL HOURS. I WAS TOLD SINCE I DID NOT PURCHASE THE VEHICLE AT THAT DEALERSHIP THEY CAN'T HELP ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE PASSING AN 18-WHEELER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED AND THE COLLISION WARNING WITH BRAKE SUPPORT FEATURE ENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE SENSORS OR AN ELECTRICAL FAULT WITHIN THE VEHICLE COULD BE AFFECTING THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND COLLISION WARNING WITH BRAKE SUPPORT, WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH. THE DEALER (AUTONATION FORD FRISCO, 6850 TX-121, FRISCO, TX 75034, 1-(972) 763-5523) WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WAY TO REPLICATE THE FAILURE WITHOUT A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE. THE DEALER DID NOT TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WIPERS WILL NOT SHUT OFF. EVEN IF YOU SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, THEY STILL COME ON WHEN IT'S STARTED AGAIN. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE WIPERS IS TO PULL THE FUSE. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2011-2014 MODELS BUT NOT ON THE 2015 MODEL. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECTIVE FORD SWITCH BUT COMPANY WILL NOT COVER THE REPLACEMENT. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND 800 NUMBER.
DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WENT TO STOP FOR TRAFFIC AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. WARNING LIGHT APPEARED AND SAID BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW, BRAKE LIGHT ON DASH BOARD CAME ON. ADDED BRAKE FLUID AND WITHIN 10 MILES THE SAME THING HAPPEN AGAIN. HAD TO HAVE THE VECHICLE TOWED.
ON WEDNESDAY I HAD THE OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER RETURNING HOME I CHECKED ALL FLUID LEVELS, INCLUDING BRAKE FLUID. ALL OKAY. FOUR DAYS LATER WHEN I GOT IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED THE ENGINE. I GOT A WARNING LIGHT ABOUT THE BRAKES. UPON INSPECTION THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS EMPTY. I COULD NOT FIND ANY SIGN OF A LEAK ANY WHERE. I ASSUME THE MASTER CYLINDER IS LEAKING OUT THE BACK INTO THE BOOSTER. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF GRADUAL LOSS OF BRAKING PERFORMANCE. THE TRUCK WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW.
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY CUT TO A ROUGH IDLE AND THROTTLE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. WARNINGS TO SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND HILL START ASSIST POPPED UP. I COASTED TO A STOP, WHICH WAS DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, THEN RESTARTED TWICE AND VEHICLE THEN BEHAVED NORMALLY. THE SAME PROBLEM RECURRED THE FOLLOWING DAY. THIS IS A REPEAT OF A PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED EARLY IN THE LIFE OF THE TRUCK AND THAT WAS FIXED BY THE DEALER UNDER WARRANTY BY REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS TIME I BOUGHT AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY MYSELF AND HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM. LOSS OF ENGINE POWER IN TRAFFIC IS A DANGEROUS EVENT. THE FACT THAT THIS IS THE SECOND FAILURE OF THE THROTTLE BODY IN MY VEHICLE SUGGESTS THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT UNDER CONTROL BY THE MANUFACTURER.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK (TYPICALLY AT MODERATE SPEEDS - 20 - 30MPH) IT WILL SUDDENLY REDUCE RPMS TO ABOUT 500 AND THE SPEED WILL DROP TO AROUND 5 MPH. SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THAT OCCURRING I WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING WARNING INDICATORS "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" THEN ANOTHER WARNING "HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT" THEN ANOTHER WARNING "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" THEN "SEE MANUAL". THIS HAPPENS TYPICALLY WHILE ACCELERATING AND HAS OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS AS WELL AS WHILE MERGING ON A HIGHWAY ON RAMP (BAD SITUATION). THE RESOLUTION IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF AN LET IT SIT FOR A SECOND THEN START IT AND DRIVE SLOWLY. THIS IS WIDELY DOCUMENTED ACROSS THE INTERNET WITH NO IDENTIFIED CAUSE AND CONSTITUTES A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD.
I OWN A 2015 FORD F-150 PICKUP 4WD 4 DOOR SINCE NEW. HAS 49K MILES. THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE TRAVELING ON A BUSY EXPRESSWAY I CHECKED MY BRAKES AND HAD NO PRESSURE AT ALL, THE PEDAL WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOORBOARD I HAD NO BRAKES A COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING! I MANAGED TO DOWN SHIFT AND USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED, A COMPLETE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING SHOULD NOT HAPPED TO A WELL MAINTAINED 3 YEAR OLD TRUCK. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED. AT THE TIME OF BRAKE FAILURE WE WERE TRAVELING AT 55 MPH ON A BUSY NY EXPRESSWAY DURING RUSHHOUR. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT'S A FAILED MASTER CYLINDER, HE CALLED FORD TO GET A REPLACEMENT PART AND THE ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT PART IS DISCONTINUED WAITING ON THE REPLACEMENT OF THAT. I HAVE LEARNED THAT FORD HAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUE ON 2013 AND 2014 F150 WITH THE 3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE AND HAS RECEIVED COMPLAINTS OF SAME PROBLEM ON THE 2015,S. WHY HAS FORD NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE 2015 MODELS! (XXXX) PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
2015 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST, BOUGHT APRIL 2018 WITH APPROX. 67,000 MILES, CURRENTLY AT APPROX. 75,000 MILES. I AM REPORTING THE SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATING POWER AS THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND STALLS BOTH WHEN MOVING WITH TRAFFIC OR ACCELERATING TO ENTER OR MOVE WITH TRAFFIC. MULTIPLE WARNING MESSAGES INCLUDING THE WRENCH LIGHT FLASH IN THE DASH MESSAGE AREA AS THE ENGINE SLOWS TO IDLE WITH NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND COMES TO A STUTTERING STOP. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS THREE WEEKS AGO AND HAS HAPPENED NO LESS THAN SIX TIME SINCE - TWICE WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO THE FREEWAY (VERY BUSY, VERY FAST TRAFFIC) AND TWICE WHILE CROSSING OR TURNING IN MULTI-LANE INTERSECTIONS FROM STOPPED. FOUR OF THE SIX TIMES RESULTED IN MY VEHICLE DYING IN AND OBSTRUCTING TRAFFIC WITH AND ME BARELY GETTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT. I NOW SHIFT TO NEUTRAL TO LET MOMENTUM MOVE THE VEHICLE AS I WORM THROUGH TRAFFIC TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SHUTTING OFF AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE CLEARS OR RESETS THE MESSAGE AND SOMETIMES "DOWNHILL ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BOTH STAYED ON OR SHUT OFF ON RESTART. I CAN THEN DRIVE ON THE VEHICLE'S OWN POWER, THOUGH THE PROBLEM HAS REPEATED AS SOON AS TWO MINUTES LATER, OR NOT FOR DAYS. I HAVE NOT HAD TO BE TOWED AND NO ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED. THE NORTH CAROLINA CONSUMER'S COUNCIL FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD IN 2015 WHICH WAS SETTLED WITH FORD OFFERING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY ON THE ETB (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY) OF CERTAIN MODEL VEHICLES - ALL WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE, AND MULTIPLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ACTIONS (CSA'S) THAT HAVE SINCE EXPIRED. A FEW MINUTES ON THE FORD FORUMS ONLINE AND IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE, AND FORD HAS OFFERED SEVERAL BANDAIDS, BUT NONE UNTIL AFTER THE ETB HAS FAILED AND LIVES BEEN ENDANGERED. *TR
ENGINE ABRUPTLY DROPPED TO A ROUGH IDLE WITH NO THROTTLE RESPONSE WHILE IN TRAFFIC. DISPLAY CONSOLE REPORTED 'SERVICE ADVANCETRAC' AND OTHER WARNINGS. I MANAGED TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE SAME SYMPTOM REPEATED THE NEXT DAY. THIS IS A REPEAT OF THE SAME SYMPTOM THAT OCCURRED AT ABOUT 17000 MILES. AT THAT TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY UNDER WARRANTY. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, SO I REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY MYSELF AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. I SUBSEQUENTLY DISASSEMBLED THE OLD THROTTLE BODY TO SEE IF I COULD IDENTIFY THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. AS AN EXPERIENCED ELECTRONIC ENGINEER, I HAVE A BETTER SHOT AT DOING THIS THAN MANY. UPON DISASSEMBLY, I NOTICED BLACK DISCOLORATION ON THE CONNECTOR TO THE MOTOR THAT CONTROLS THE THROTTLE. THE MATERIAL OF THAT CONNECTOR APPEARS TO BE TIN OR A TIN ALLOY; THE BLACK IS LIKELY AN OXIDE THAT CAN CAUSE AN OPEN CIRCUIT. THIS LOOKS LIKE A PHENOMENON CALLED 'FRETTING' THAT CAN OCCUR IN CONNECTORS WHEN VIBRATION IS PRESENT. THE USUAL FIX IS TO CHANGE TO GOLD PLATED CONTACTS, AND/OR ENSURE CONTINUED LUBRICATION OF THE CONTACTS. I'VE ATTACHED AN ARTICLE ON 'FRETTING' FOR REFERENCE. BASED ON THE FACT THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT PERMANENTLY FIXED BY THE FIRST REPLACEMENT OF THE THROTTLE BODY, IT APPEARS THAT FORD HAS NOT IMPLEMENTED A DESIGN CHANGE TO MANAGE IT. IT'S LIKELY THAT THE PROBLEM WILL RECUR AND REQUIRE REPEATED FIXES. THIS IS DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE IT'S NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE TO COAST TO A SAFE LOCATION WITH A NON-FUNCTIONING ENGINE.
DRIVING AT 20 MPH ON RESIDENTIAL STREET, APPLIED BRAKES, PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. COMPLETE FAILURE OF BRAKES. SIMULTANEOUS WARNING ON LOW BRAKE FLUID AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. ADDED FLUID TO RESERVOIR. BRAKES FAILED AGAIN WITHIN A FEW MINUTES. NO EXTERNAL EVIDENCE OF FLUID LEAK, BUT RESERVOIR WAS AGAIN LOW. WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED LIT ENTIRE TIME
THE TRUCKS WARNING SYSTEM HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT IS HARD TO EXPLAIN. THE SYSTEM WILL DISPLAY MULTIPLE WARNING AND ERROR MESSAGES WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS INFREQUENTLY, WHICH IS WHY THE DEALER CAN NOT FIX IT. THE DRIVER'S DISPLAY SCREEN WILL CYCLE THROUGH MANY WARNINGS, I.E. "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK", "PARKING BRAKE WARNING", "4 BY 4 WARNING ETC. PROBABLY AT LEAST A DOZEN MESSAGES. ITS NOT JUST ANNOYING. SOMETIMES THE TURN SIGNAL WILL NOT WORK. THE SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO 0 - WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. CRUISE CONTROL USUALLY WONT WORK. SO, TO REITERATE, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS, THE SYSTEM BEEPS FOR EACH MESSAGE, THE DISPLAY GOES BLACK, TURN SIGNALS DON'T WORK, THE RADIO DOESN'T WORK. THIS TYPICALLY LASTS FOR 5 TO 20 MINUTES BEFORE CLEARING UP. THE DEALER HAS SEEN THE HUNDREDS OF WARNING AND ERROR MESSAGES THAT ACCUMULATE, BUT THEY CAN'T FIX IT UNLESS THE ROOT PROBLEM IS STILL PRESENT. I HAVE RECORDED VIDEO THAT DEMONSTRATES THIS PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ON MY WAY TO THE OFFICE THIS MORNING, AS I APPROACHED HEAVY TRAFFIC TRAVELLING AT 75 MPH. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. THE TRUCK HAD COMPLETE AND TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT BY GOING DOWN THE GRASS IN BETWEEN THE 2 OPPOSING LANES OF TRAFFIC.
THE FUEL PUMP ON THE 2015. F150 2.7 L ECOBOOST IS FAULTY. FORD HAS RECALLED ALL OTHER VEHICLES WITH THIS ENGINE EXCEPT THE F150 MODEL. WHY? 2 FUEL PUMPS HAVE GONE BAD ON MY F150. AFTER THE 3 FUEL PUMP WAS PUT IN FORD ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE PCM SO THE FUEL PUMP WOULD WORK. MY VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN IN TRAFFIC WHEN THE PUMP FAILED CAUSING COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, he heard abnormal clunking sounds coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Integrated Wheel End (IWE) had failed and damaged the wheel hubs, rotors, and brake pads. The vehicle was repaired under an unknown Ford Technical Service Bulletin; however, the failure reoccurred at 51,000 miles. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who provided the same diagnostic information. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would partially cover the repair as the VIN was not included in a recall and the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. The contact stated that despite multiple replacement, the vehicle still experiences the same issue. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice and charged both times but was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to Corey Ford and fixed the vehicle at no charge.
WHILE DRIVING THERE IS RATTLING INSIDE OF THE STEERING COLUMN THAT STARTED A FEW MONTHS BACK. NOW MY ALTERNATOR SEEMS TO NOT BE WORKING PROPERLY AND THE TRUCK WILL ONLY CRANK WHEN I HAVE ALL EXTRAS OFF (RADIO, AC, ETC.) I ALSO HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS FOR SOME REASON FOR IT TO TURN OVER COMPLETELY. OTHERWISE IT JUST DIES. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN IT WOULDN'T TURN OVER AT ALL. MY BATTERY IS PULLING 13.9 V AND I HAVE CHECKED THE CONNECTIONS. FOR A TRUCK TO BE 3 YEARS OLD AND ALREADY NEED A NEW ALTERNATOR APPALLS ME. THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE GOING ON AND THE RATTLING IN THE STEERING COLUMN IS SOMEHOW RELATED TO ME HAVING PROBLEMS CRANKING THE TRUCK.

THE NORTH CAROLINA CONSUMER'S COUNCIL FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD IN 2015 WHICH WAS SETTLED WITH FORD OFFERING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY ON THE ETB (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY) OF CERTAIN MODEL VEHICLES - ALL WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE, AND MULTIPLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ACTIONS (CSA'S) THAT HAVE SINCE EXPIRED. A FEW MINUTES ON THE FORD FORUMS ONLINE AND IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE, AND FORD HAS OFFERED SEVERAL BANDAIDS, BUT NONE UNTIL AFTER THE ETB HAS FAILED AND LIVES BEEN ENDANGERED. *TR

LOOKING ONLINE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND VIDEOS MANY ARE REFERRING TO AS THE " SQUAWKING" IT DOES APPEAR THEIR IS A TSB, FORD IS AWARE BUT WONT MAKE THE RECALL OFFICIAL. IVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO REVIEW AND HAVE IT SERVICED BUT WAS TOLD THEY CAN ONLY SERVICE IT IF THEY CAN REPLICATE IT. I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE ON HWY AT 55MPH PULLING A 20 FOOT PONTOON BOAT. BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON WITH AUDIBLE WARNING. I CAME TO THE NEXT STOP SIGN AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT NEARLY TO THE FLOOR WITH SEVERE DIMINISHED BRAKING ABILITY. I LIMPED THE TRUCK TO A GAS STATION A MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHERE I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WHICH HAD A 1/2 INCH OF FLUID LEFT IN IT. I PUT 12 OZ. OF BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR. I GOT UNDER THE TRUCK AND CHECKED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE LINES FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER TO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. I LOCATED NO LEAKS WHATSOEVER IN THE SYSTEM. I CONTINUED ANOTHER APPROXIMATE 20 MILES AND THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AT WHICH TIME I STOPPED AGAIN AND ADDED 48OZ TOTAL OF ADDITIONAL BRAKE FLUID HOWEVER IT DISAPPEARED WITH NO LEAK ANYWHERE. I HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED 190 MILES HOME AS I WAS ON A FAMILY VACATION. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WILL ARRIVE ON MONDAY AUGUST, 20 2018.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE CONTACT'S FOOT TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED MANY TIMES AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WITHOUT ALSO DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT DROVE TO GERMAIN FORD (2356 HELLER DR, BEAVERCREEK, OH 45434, (937) 429-1300) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ISSUE WAS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,200. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM AT 36,999 MILES. WENT INTO "LIMP" MODE WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY IN A 45 MPH STREET WITH BUSY TRAFFIC. I WAS VERY LUCKY IT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
A "LOW BRAKE FLUID" WARNING APPEARED IN THE CENTER OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN I NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN TO TURN AT AN INTERSECTION. THE RESOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY FORD, YET THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THE 2015 F-150 TRUCKS WITH THIS PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING ON 1-90 THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DO N ON ITS OWN 3 TIMES SO FAR . IT IS MAKING US PANIC ON OUR ROAD TRIP. IT IS SUNDAY SO CAN'T GET IT LOOKED AT UNTIL TOM. THE MANUFACTURER LATER OFFERED A $700 REFUND. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,918.
VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. DISPLAY SLOWED TRACTION CONTROL MALFUNCTION, HILL ASSIST MALFUNCTION AND ENGINE TROUBLE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. ONCE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF IT THEN RESTARTED A MINUTE LATER AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED.

UPON MERGING INTO TRAFFIC TRUCK SUDDENLY SURGES, FOLLOWED BY AUDIBLE BANG THEN ABRUPTLY LOSES ALL POWER "NO DRIVING CONDITIONS OUT OF THE ORDINARY, NOT UNDER HARD ACCELERATION." WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIGHT UP AND I HAVE NO CONTROL OF VEHICLE. LUCKILY I WAS FORTUNATE TO NOT HAVE MUCH TRAFFIC AROUND ME AT THE TIME AND PROMPTLY COASTED INTO A DESERTED PARKING LOT TO CALL MY DEALERSHIP. I'D LIKE THEM TO TRUST A TRUCK THAT CEASED ALL ESSENTIAL OPERATIONS (BRAKES, ACCELERATION, POWER STEERING) WITH A WIFE AND KIDS IN THE VEHICLE DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR IN THE FOURTH LARGEST CITY IN THE UNITED STATES WITH SPEEDING DRIVERS WHO DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD IN FRONT OF THEM, THEN WE WILL TALK. BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE TRYING TO STOP FROM 35 MPH AT A STOP SIGN ENTERED HIGHWAY 260 IN OVERGAARD AZ - CROSSED THE HIGHWAY APPLYING FULL PRESSURE ON BRAKE PEDAL AND USING PARKING BRAKE - CAME TO A STOP AND CHECKED THE FLUID LEVEL ALL BRAKE FLUID WAS GONE, ADDED 12 OZ OF DOT 4 FLUID AND BACKED THE TRUCK UP AND PARKED IN A ANOTHER PLACE TO CHECK FOR LEAKS - CHECKED THE LEVEL AND ALL FLUID WAS GONE AGAIN. NO SIGN OF LEAKAGE. DEALER LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE ON 8/9 AND DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER.
MY WIFE STARTED DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND A SHORT TIME LATER A "BRAKE FLUID LOW" WARNING CAME ON. SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKING ACTION WAS SEVERELY COMPROMISED. IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE PLACE, SHE HAD TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE A SHORT DISTANCE, IN ORDER TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP ONCE IN A PARKING LOT SHE HAD TO PUT THE TRUCK IN TOW HAUL MODE (ENGINE BRAKING) AND USE THE EMERGENCY/PARKING BRAKE. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL SERVICE SHOP. THEY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A MASTER CYLINDER LEAK INTO THE BOOSTER. WE THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DCH FORD OF THOUSAND OAKS AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE THE SAME AND SAID THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER NEED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE HAS LESS THE 50K MILES AND IS THE V6 WITH ECOBOOST. 2013 AND 2014 MODELS ARE APPARENTLY UNDER ACTIVE RECALL FOR SAME ISSUE. 2015 (OUR YEAR) IS UNDER RECALL QUERY/INVESTIGATION # RQ16001

WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST AT 45 MPH ON A CITY STREET I HAD A LOW BREAK FLUID WARNING LIGHT COME ON. I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND ALL SEEMED FINE.I PROCEEDED 2 BLOCKS TO FIND SOMEWHERE SAFE TO CHECK THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL. WHEN I TRIED TO STOP AT THE NEXT STOP LIGHT I HAD NO BRAKES AT ALL!!! I WENT THROUGH THE RED LIGHT INTERSECTION WITH MY FOOT TO THE FLOOR ON THE BRAKES. WITH LUCK, I DID NOT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. I COASTED SLOW ENOUGH TO USE MY PARKING BRAKE (E-BRAKE) TO MAKE A FULL STOP. I OPEN THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY EMPTY. AFTER CAREFULLY EXAMINING ALL OF THE BRAKE LINES ,FITTINGS, CALIPERS, MASTER CYLINDER AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT NO BRAKE FLUID WAS FOUND LEAKING ANYWHERE. I HAD THE 2015 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. ALSO ABOUT A WEEK AGO DURING A LONG ROAD TRIP I NOTICED A LOT OF WIND NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVERS DOOR. I WAS ON AN INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 75 MPH. I GOT OFF OF THE INTERSTATE AND RE-CLOSED MY DOOR THINKING I DID NOT SHUT IT HARD ENOUGH. ABOUT 5 MILES DOWN THE INTERSTATE DRIVING ABOUT 75 MPH I WENT OVER AN APPROACH (OR A BUMP) TO A BRIDGE AND THE DOOR DROPPED OUT OF IT'S CLOSED POSITION AND I COULD STICK 4 FINGERS OUT BETWEEN THE DOOR AND DOOR FRAME. I PULL OVER AT A SAFE AREA TO EXAM THE DOOR AND FRAME. I NOTICED THAT THE DOOR BOLTS (TOP AND BOTTOM) THAT HOLD THE DOOR HINGE TO THE DOOR HAD COME LOOSE AND BACKED OUT ABOUT 4 TURNS. I TIGHTENED THEM AND FINISHED MY TRIP. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN SEE WHY THAT HAD HAPPENED.
THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILED PREMATURELY ON MY FORD F150, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND SUBSEQUENTLY GO INTO LIMP MODE WHILE TRAVELING AT NORMAL SPEEDS (HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES BETWEEN 35 AND 50 MPH). THIS CAUSES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TRYING TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC AND TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AS WELL AS POTENTIAL LOSS OF CONTROL AND HANDLING. A FORD DEALER ATTEMPTED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AFTER 3 INCIDENTS, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM MAY BE THE THROTTLE BODY (BUT THEY DID NOT REPLACE IT).

WHILE ON VACATION AT LAKE, THE TRUCK COMPLETELY LOST BRAKES. I DROPPED BOAT IN WATER AND PARKED IN LOT. UPON RETURNING FROM DAY OF BOATING, I STARTED TRUCK AND BEGAN DRIVING DOWN BOAT RAMP. I HIT THE BRAKES TO SLOW AND MAKE THE U TURN TO BACK DOWN TO WATER AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT FULLY TO THE FLOOR AND ALARMS AND BRAKE MESSAGES BEGAN FLASHING ON DASH. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE DECELERATION. LUCKILY I WAS NOT MOVING TOO QUICKLY AND ABLE TO KEEP FROM HITTING OTHER PEOPLE AND VEHICLES ON THE RAMP BY TURNING CROSSWISE ON THE RAMP. CERTAINLY COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE IF BRAKES HAD FAILED WHILE FULLY LOADED UP TRAILER, LESS MANEUVERING OPTIONS OR WITH MORE SPEED. UPON CHECKING THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF LEAKAGE ON ANY OF BRAKE LINES OR COMPONENTS. OBTAINED FLUID AND FILLED RESERVOIR COMPLETELY AND ABLE TO GET BACK TO CAMPSITE. HOWEVER, TWO HOURS LATER THE RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY AGAIN. FINALLY DETERMINED FLUID WAS LEAKING INTO BRAKE BOOSTER AND THAT IS WHY NO FLUID LEAKS COULD BE DETECTED. THE RESIDUAL VACUUM AFTER ENGINE IS SHUT OFF SUCKS OUT ALL THE FLUID WHILE VEHICLE IS PARKED. APPARENTLY THE ENGINE BURNS BRAKE FLUID FAIRLY CLEANLY AS THE EXHAUST DID NOT SMOKE EXCESSIVELY ON STARTUP. REMOVED VACUUM LINE FROM BOOSTER AND REFILLED RESERVOIR SO THAT IT COULD BE DRIVEN TO DEALERSHIP WITH NON-BOOST ASSISTED BRAKES. DEALERSHIP VERIFIED THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS INDEED LEAKING INTO BOOSTER AND REPLACED MASTER AND BOOSTER AT A COST OF $650. THEY SAID THAT ALTHOUGH PREVIOUS YEARS THAT HAD THIS EXACT PROBLEM WERE COVERED MINE WAS OUTSIDE OF THE COVERED VINS AND NOT COVERED.
ON JULY 21, 2018 WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM LAKE RAY ROBERTS AT 10:30 PM A LOW FLUID LEVEL WARNING APPEARED ON THE CONSOLE OF MY 2015 F-150 TRUCK. THE WARNING WAS SHORTLY FOLLOWED WITH TOTAL BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION THE FLUID FROM THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER HAD DRAINED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THIS RESULTED IN TOTAL LOSS OF HYDRAULIC BRAKES AND A REQUIREMENT TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL ON A SMOOTH, LEVEL HWY MY CRUISE CONTROL CUT OFF ABRUPTLY CAUSING AN ALARM TO SOUND AND A NOTICE TO SERVICE ADV TRAC CAME UP ON MY SCREEN. AT THAT MOMENT I ALSO DISCOVERED MY POWER STEERING HAD FAILED CAUSING THE TRUCK TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE RAPID DECELERATION CAUSED THE CAR BEHIND ME TO HAVE TO BRAKE HARD AND GET ON THE SHOULDER. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. I DROVE THE TRUCK HOME AND CALLED MY FORD DEALER THE NEXT MORNING AND CONSEQUENTLY TOOK THE CAR TO THEM. I WAS INFORMED LATER THAT MORNING THAT I HAD HAD A CATASTROPHIC STEERING FAILURE AND THAT MY COMPLETE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST (EPSA) WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF ABOUT $2,000. THE TRUCK WAS DELIVERED NEW IN JAN OF 2016 ONLY HAS 45,000 MILES ON IT AND I DOUBT HAS EVER BEEN OFF OF PAVED ROADS . I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AND PAY THE BILL. I CONTACTED FORD TO SEE IF I COULD GET SOME HELP AND BASICALLY GOT A VERY WEAK RESPONSE AND OF COURSE NO ACTION. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING WHATSOEVER AND HAD IT HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC OR IN A MORE HAZARDOUS SITUATION WITH A PHYSICALLY WEAKER DRIVER AT THE WHEEL THERE WOULD HAVE ALMOST CERTAINLY BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT. AFTER DOING SOME SEARCHING I FIND THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNHEARD OF INCIDENT AND BASED ON MY RESEARCH WOULD BET FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. AT THIS POINT I'M ASHAMED THAT I HAVE PUT SO MUCH FAITH IN FORD AND THEIR PRODUCTS IN THE PAST.
BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. BRAKE FLUID KEEPS DISAPPEARING. BRAKE FLUID HAS LEAKED INTO THE INTAKE AND CAUSED MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST, THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AT ONLY 42K MILES.
WHILE TRYING TO STOP AT A BUSY INTERSECTION MY BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED. SECONDS LATER I NOTICED A BRAKE FLUID WARNING LIGHT. UPON INVESTIGATION, BRAKE FLUID WAS VERY LOW. ADDED MORE FLUID TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, ONLY TO BE IN THE SAME SITUATION A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN VERY UNHELPFUL. PARTS AGENTS HUNG UP ON ME, AND NO GUIDANCE AS TO WHERE I CAN FIND REPLACEMENT PARTS. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY PARKED AND CAN'T BE DRIVEN UNTIL FIXED. I BOUGHT AFTERMARKET PARTS AND HAVE TO MISS DAYS OF WORK AND PAY FOR A RENTAL. THERE IS ONLY 68K MILES ON THE TRUCK AND 3 YEARS OLD. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND HAS NOT ISSUED ANY RECALLS. I HOPE THIS IS ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIES. THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO TALK ABOUT IT ON THEIR CHAT LINE.
I EXPERIENCED TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO STOP WITH THE PARKING BRAKE. I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND FOUND IT EMPTY. THERE WAS NOT A CRASH INVOLVED.
WHILE TOWING A TRAILER AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH ON A CITY STREET AND SLOWING (BRAKING), THE FRONT BRAKES ON THE F-150 CEASED TO WORK AND THE VEHICLE DASH DISPLAYED A WARNING THERE WAS LOW BRAKE FLUID. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO COLLISION AS THIS WAS NOT A PANIC STOP SITUATION, THE REAR BRAKES OF THE VEHICLE WORKED, AND THERE WERE TRAILER BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER HAD FAILED AND CAUSED THE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK INTO THE VACUUM (BRAKE) BOOSTER. THIS IS THE SAME FAILURE OUTLINED IN NHTSA RECALL 16V345000 COVERING 2013 TO 2014 F-150S. I BELIEVE THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO 2015 VEHICLES AS WELL.
BRAKE FAILURE AT 54,000 MILES WITH NO WARNING. MASTER CYLINDER FAILED ALLOWING THE BRAKE FLUID TO BY PASS THE SEALS AND LEAKED INTO THE POWER BOOSTER. I WAS TRVELING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 MPH AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO WARNING AT A INTERSECTION. FORD HAD A RECALL IN 2014 FOR THE SAME SITUATION BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT THE 2015 MODEL. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAS COMPLAINED ON THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY STOP THE VEHICLE BY LETTING IT COAST TO A STOP. ALSO, THE BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO I-77 FORD (3315 CHARLESTON RD, RIPLEY, WV) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEALANT FAILED IN THE BOOSTER CYLINDER AND BOTH THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED SINCE THE BRAKE FAILURE ON 7/10/18 AND COMPLETED REPAIRS ON 7/17/18. ALSO, SINCE AN I77 MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I MAY LOSE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS BECAUSE THE BRAKE FLUID WENT THRU THEM, I TRADED THE TRUCK ON 7/28/18. UPDATED 10/15/18*JB
