I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, WITH NO CRUISE CONTROL ON, AND SUDDENLY MY SENSORS GO OFF AS IF I WAS ABOUT TO HIT SOMETHING. THEN AFTER A SECOND (PROBABLY WAS ONLY A SPLIT-SECOND, BUT IT FELT LIKE FOREVER), IT WENT AWAY. IF ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD HAVE BEEN ENABLED, THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE BRAKES TO AUTOMATICALLY PRESS (I KNOW BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE). THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE (SENSORS THINKING THEY ARE GOING TO HIT SOMETHING, WHEN IT SHOULD BE NOTHING). I WISH I HAD A VIDEO OF IT HAPPENING, BUT IT ONLY HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES FOR AT MOST 3 SECONDS IN THE THE 1.5 YEARS I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE.
I JUST READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT THE BRAKE FAILURES ON THE 2015 & 2016 F-150. I HAVE A 2015 F-150 PLATINUM 4X4 WITH APPROXIMATELY 31,000 MILES AND EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR EVENT ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. AS I APPROACHED A STOP SIGNAL ON MY NORMAL ROUTE HOME, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN I STEPPED ON THE PEDAL, IT ACTED LIKE THE ANTI-SKID BRAKE SYSTEM HAD TAKEN OVER AND WOULDN'T ALLOW THE PEDAL TO APPLY HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE CALIPERS. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME IT HAS HAPPENED, SO I DID NOT REPORT THE EVENT TO FORD. NO DAMAGE OR INJURY OCCURRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE AFTER THE AUTO SHIFT FEATURE WAS USED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR PRODUCE A FAULT CODE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. DRIVING THE FORD F150 (V6 ECOBOOST) ON A CITY STREET (35 MPH) IT HAS FAILED AT RANDOM TIMES (I'VE NOW SEEN THIS ISSUE MORE THAN 3 TIMES) USUALLY WITH 3 MAJOR FAILURES. THESE 3 FAILURES (1) ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, AND EMISSIONS 2) BRAKES & SUSPENSION 3) RESTRATINS & DRIVER ASSISTANCE) CAUSE THE TRUCK TO TRANSITION TO 'LIMP' MODE WHICH CAN ACTUALLY BE JUST AS HAZARDOUS. IF I'M TURNING ONTO A ROAD WITH A 55+ MPH SPEED LIMIT I NEED TO ACCELERATE BUT IF THIS SYSTEM FAILS, ALONG WITH THE RESTRAINTS & DRIVER ASSISTANCE, THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. THE REASON WHY IS THAT THE RESTRAINTS & DRIVER ASSISTANCE GOES OFF NOW DISABLING MY AIRBAGS, ETC. AND IF I NOW GET HIT (BECAUSE NOW I'M IN LIMP MODE GOING ABOUT 7 MPH) I HAVE LOST A GREAT DEAL OF 'BUILT-IN' PROTECTION WITHOUT THE AIRBAGS. TRANSLATE THAT TO DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND ENCOUNTERING THIS SITUATION AND YOU CAN SEE THAT LOSS OF LIFE IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION. I'VE TAKEN THE TRUCK BACK TO FORD FOR THE WARRANTY WORK AND THEY SAY THEY BELIEVE IT'S AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY CONTROLLER THAT HAS GONE BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT RIGHT NOW IT'S AT LEAST 3 WEEKS BEFORE THEY CAN GET A REPLACEMENT PART. COMPOUNDING THIS ISSUE IS THAT FORD HAD ISSUED AN INTERNAL RECALL FOR V8'S BUILT AT THE SAME PLANT AS MY V6 ECOBOOST TRUCK FOR THE SAME TYPE OF ISSUE.
THE HEADLINER IS COMIN OFF ON UPPER THE CONNORS EXACTLY OVER THE SUN VISSORS AND ABOVE HEAD REST ON THE REARS SEATS THE PICK UP IN NOW WHITH 23560 MILES ON IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AT 5 MPH, THE BRAKES SEEMED TO DRAG ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES HAD A SOFT PEDAL, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO OVERTAKE A TRAILER, THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE BRAKED UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE ON ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE DID NOT RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,500.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR LATCH MALFUNCTIONED AND THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO UNLATCH WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS, THE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS, THE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTOSAVER FORD LOCATED AT 11125 NY-22, COMSTOCK, NY 12821, WHO SPRAYED LUBRICANT ON THE LOCKING MECHANISM HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID FROZE IN COLDER WEATHER CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BE UNABLE TO CLEAN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOTIFIED BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
TRUCK REAR END BOUNCES AND SHIFTS VIOLENTLY GOING OVER BUMPS AND ON ROUGH ROADS DRIVING OVER 40 MPH. WHEN DRIVING OVER SPEED BUMPS THE TRUCK FEELS AS THOUGH IT HAS BOTTOMED OUT OR THE REAR SHOCKS HAVE FULLY COMPRESSED AND GIVING NO SUPPORT. THESE SYMPTOMS HAPPEN DAILY AND MAKES DRIVING DANGEROUS ON ROUGH ROADS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND UPON SLOWING DOWN TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DROVE SLOWLY TO THE DEALER. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER CAUSED THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR ANALYSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 9,600.
DESPITE BEING IN THE DEALERS REPAIR SHOP FOR WARRANTY WORK FOR 33 DAYS INCLUDING A FACTORY RECALL ON THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, THE UNIT CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION. THE LATEST EVENT OCCURRED ON AUGUST 24, 2016 WHILE TRAVELING AT 77MPH WITH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED. WITHOUT WARNING OR CAUSE THE COLLISION CONTROL SYSTEM FULLY DEPLOYED TO INCLUDE HARD BRAKING, WINDSHIELD WARNING LIGHTS, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING, AND AUDIBLE WARNING. RESULT IS THAT THE VEHICLE DRAMATICALLY SLOWS VERY QUICKLY CREATING A POTENTIALLY MAJOR PROBLEM IF THERE WERE VEHICLES FOLLOWING CLOSELY BEHIND. THIS IN ADDITION TO THE SUDDEN NATURE OF THE WARNING AND VEHICLE "TAKE OVER" BY THE SYSTEM COULD CAUSE MOMENTARY DRIVER PANIC! DEALER HAS STATED A WILLINGNESS TO WORK ON THE VEHICLE AGAIN, BUT SAYS THEY CAN ONLY RE-DO WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY DONE MULTIPLE TIMES.
I OWN A 2015 F-150 SUPERCREW LARIAT WITH MOON-ROOF WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED & FIXED MULTIPLE OCCASIONS FOR LEAKS WHICH HAS DAMAGED THE INTERIOR AND LEFT A ROTTEN SMELL WITHIN THE TRUCK AND NOT ABLE TO GET OUT. ALSO THE MOONROOF HAS ALSO BEEN REPLACED FOR BROKEN TRACKS MULTIPLE TIMES FOR NON OPERATIONS OF MOONROOF.
THE ISSUES STARTED AROUND MID JULY 2016 WITH ABOUT 11-12K MILES. I WAS TURNING ONTO A SIDE ROAD WHERE DOING MAYBE 10 MPH AND THE ENGINE STALLED, IT RESTARTED WHILE IN MOTION AND I CONTINUED. THE HILL START ASSIST AND ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. LATER THAT WEEK IT HAPPENED REPEATEDLY. THE DEALERSHIP HERE IN TOWN (NOT WHERE I BOUGHT IT) LOOKED AT IT FOR A FEW DAYS, THEY THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE OF, "ALL THE AFTER MARKET STUFF (RADIO ETC) I HAD (PROFESSIONALLY) INSTALLED". THEY BELIEVED IT WAS THE POWER CONVERTER SO THEY REPLACED THE CONVERTER WHEN IT CAME IN (THE 110V CONVERTER) I GOT MY STEREO STUFF RECONNECTED AND KEPT DRIVING IT. THEN THE ENGINE WOULD NOT STALL, BUT THE WARNING LIGHTS WOULD FLASH ADVANCE TRAC AND HILL ASSIST. AFTER A FEW DAYS, IT BEGAN TO STALL AGAIN, ALMOST GETTING ME HIT PULLING ONTO A ROAD WITH 50MPH TRAFFIC. THE TRUCK DIED, AND WOULDN'T "RESTART" ITSELF. SO HERE I AM PARKED ON A TWO MULTILANE 50MPH ROADWAY TRYING TO START MY TRUCK WITHOUT GETTING KILLED. IT ALSO HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE PULLING OFF THIS SAME ROAD INTO A SIDE STREET WITH A BIG ASS RV COMING AT ME, I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO THE SIDE STREET AND THEN RESTART THE TRUCK. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK IN AND THEY SAID THAT IT MIGHT BE THE THROTTLE BODY. SO, I GOT MY TRUCK BACK TODAY WITH THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. I GO TO DRIVE AWAY AND MY HEAD UNIT/ DISPLAY WILL NOT ILLUMINATE PROPERLY. I THOUGHT IT WAS DIMMED, BUT IT WASN'T. SO I DRIVE IN A CIRCLE TO BRING IT BACK AND IT ILLUMINATES LIKE IT SHOULD. SO I LEAVE AND I DRIVE BACK DOWN THE MAIN 50 MPH ROAD AND WHILE ACCELERATING AWAY FROM A STOP LIGHT THERE, THE ADVANCE TRAC AND HILL ASSIST LIGHTS FLASH ON AGAIN. I TAKE IT RIGHT BACK AND IT IS NOW THERE GETTING LOOKED AT AGAIN.
BRAKE PEDAL DROPPED TO FLOOR AND SIGNIFICANTLY LOST ABILITY TO STOP. MECHANIC SAYS NEEDS TO REPLACE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER. PARTS ARE ON BACKORDER WHICH INDICATES THERE IS A PROBLEM - PARTS DEPARTMENT SAID THERE ARE 700 ON BACKORDER AND IT WILL TAKE OVER A MONTH TO GET THEM
LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON, WITH IN ONE MILE THE BRAKE PEDEL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY LITTLE STOPPING POWER. BRAKE FLUID RESEVIOR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. ADDED BRAKE FLUID AS WARNING LIGHT RECOMMENDED, DROVE 1 MILE AND BRAKE FLUID RESEVIOR WAS EMPTY AGAIN. LUCKLY I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN WITH VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC.
8/5/2016 THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY TAKEN IN FOR A LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVE TRAIN. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT AND THE DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND REFLASHED THE COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND IT OCCURRED WHEN IT WAS HUNTING FOR GEARS AS I PASSED SOMEONE. 5/22/2017 THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WITH A GRIND NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVETRAIN. I TOLD THE DEALER IT SOUNDED LIKE CARDS IN THE SPOKES OF A BICYCLE. THEY TRIED TO REFLASH THE COMPUTER AND THE TRUCK MADE THE SAME NOISE AS SOON AS I DROVE AWAY FROM THEIR LOT. I TOOK IT RIGHT BACK AND TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS NOT FIXED AND I WANTED THEM TO KEEP IT UNTIL IT WAS FIXED. THE VEHICLE WAS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND IT OCCURRED WHEN IT WAS HUNTING FOR GEARS AS I PASSED SOMEONE. I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS LATER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE OVERDRIVE UNIT IN THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REBUILT. THE TRUCK ONLY HAD 20,067 MILES AT THIS POINT. 9/23/2019 I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM THAT THE NOISE HAD RETURNED AT THAT THIS WOULD MAKE THE FOURTH TIME IT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY COVERED ANY REPAIRS FOR THIS UP TILL 60,000 MILES. I WILL SCHEDULE A TIME TO DROP THE TRUCK FOR A CHECK AS SOON AS I CAN. THE TRUCK HAS 52,622.3 MILES AS OF 10/31/2019. THE TRUCK ONLY MAKES THE NOISE AT ODD INTERVALS WHEN IT IS BETWEEN GEARS OR PASSING SOMEONE.
VEHICLE BRAKES SUDDENLY WHEN ON ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, PARTICULARLY NEAR SEMIS HAULING CONTAINERS. VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THIS PREVIOUSLY AND STILL EXHIBITS UNSAFE BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN ITS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM REPORTED "LOW BRAKE FLUID". I PULLED INTO THE CLOSEST GAS STATION AND CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL. IT WAS ALMOST TOTALLY OUT, SO I PURCHASED 2 SMALL CANS AND FILLED UP BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. I HAD JUST HAD THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER FOR ITS SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE, SO IT WAS ODD THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW. NO EXTERNAL LEAKS WERE VISIBLE. I DROVE ANOTHER 5 MILES, AND THE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM REPORTED AGAIN, "LOW BRAKE FLUID". I PULLED INTO ANOTHER GAS STATION AND RECHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. AGAIN, IT WAS ALMOST TOTALLY EMPTY. I COULD NOT DETECT A VISIBLE BRAKE FLUID LEAK, BUT COULD SMELL BRAKE FLUID IN THE ENGINE BAY. I PARKED THE VEHICLE, AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY WERE STILL OPEN. THEY WERE ABOUT TO CLOSE. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE IN THE DEALER'S LOT, I HAD NO BRAKING CAPABILITIES. DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A DEFECTIVE MASTER CYLINDER. REPAIR WAS DONE BY DEALER BY REPLACING MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER. THERE WAS AN APPROXIMATE 30 DAY DELAY IN REPAIRING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL ON 2014 FORD F-150'S FOR DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTERS, AND FORD WAS BACK ORDERED ON THE PARTS. I JUST PICKED UP MY VEHICLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE ADVANCE TRAC CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,300.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASH ILLUMINATED TOOK TRUCK TO DEALER FOUND SEAT POSITION SENSOR UNDER PASSENGER SEAT BROKEN CHANGED SENSOR NO EXPLANATION HOW SENSOR MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN BROKEN. NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY BAD FORD ENGINEERING.
WHILE USING ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL MODE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BOTH DAY AND NIGHT MY VEHICLES FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAS MISTAKENLY APPLIED THE BRAKES SUDDENLY REDUCING THE VEHICLE SPEED ABRUPTLY. NIGHT TIME INSTANCE WAS GOING UNDER A EXPRESSWAY OVERPASS CENTER LANE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN AREA. DAY TIME IN HOV LANE AND MODERATE TRAFFIC FLOW BUT NO ONE WITHIN TEN CAR LENGTHS. ONLY 1000 MILES ON VEHICLE. I HAVE DEACTIVATED THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL IN VEHICLE SETTINGS. VEHICLE JUST OUTSIDE OF PRODUCTION DATE OF RECALL. TWO PURCHASED NEW 7/28/2016. TO BE REPORTED TO DEALER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ERRONEOUSLY DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT OPERATING AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
I WAS GOING ON A TRIP I HAVE A 1 YR OLD SISTER IN LAW I HAD TO PUT HER BABY CAR SEAT I WANTED TO PUT HER IN THE MIDDLE AWAY FROM THE SIDES AND TO MY SURPRISE THE MIDDLE SEATBELT DOES NOT WORK IT WOULD OF BEEN THE FIRST TIME USING THE SEATBELT I'VE CONTACTED DEALERSHIPS AND CONTACTED HEADQUARTERS AND THEY HAVE BEEN NO HELP TELLING ME IT COULD BE 5 TO 6 DAYS JUST TO LOOK AT IT MY THING IS WHY ISN'T A SEATBELT ISSUE BEING TAKEN SERIOUS. IN MY OPINION IT'S A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE ANY HELP WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATED.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ONE MORNING WHEN I NOTICED MY BREAK PEDAL SEEMS TO BE GOING LOWER THAN NORMAL. AFTER DRIVING A LITTLE MORE IT SEEMED TO BE OK. AS I GOT ABOUT HALF WAY ACROSS HOUSTON, I WAS COMING T A RED LIGHT AND WHEN I HIT MY BREAKS THEY WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND I WENT THROUGH A RED LIGHT. I CALLED ROADSIDE TO ROW MY TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER TO FIND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH TRUCKS AROUND THIS YEAR MODEL, AND THE MASTER CYLINDER IS ON RECALL UNTIL (HOPEFULLY) AUG, 22. THAT'S IS A FULL MONTH WITHOUT MY TRUCK. THERE HAS CURRENTLY BEEN NO RECALLS ON THESE MODELS, BUT IF THERE IS NOT ONE SOON, SOMEONE IS GOING T GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED WITH THIS DEFAULT. ( I ONLY HAVE 5600 MILES ON THIS TRUCK BY THE WAY).
DURING A ACCIDENT WHERE I REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS EITHER STOPPED OR AT A VERY SLOW ROLL ON A OFF-RAMP (TRAFFIC WAS BACKED UP FROM A WRECK FURTHER UP), NEITHER MY AIRBAGS OR MY SEAT BELT RESTRAINED ME. THE RESULT BEING ME HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY CHEST AND ABDOMEN. I HAD BRUISING ON MY LOWER ABDOMEN AND EXTENSIVE INJURIES TO MY BACK, NECK AND HIPS. THE CHIROPRACTOR HOPES TO HAVE ME BACK TO 80-90% OF "NORMAL" (HOW I WAS BEFORE THE WRECK) WITHIN 2-2 1/2 MONTHS. I ESTIMATE MY SPEED UPON IMPACT TO BE BETWEEN 50-60 MPH.

STOP THE ENGINE AND TRIED THE BREAKS AND THEY WERE WORKING FINE. DID NOT THINK MORE ABOUT IT UNTIL I SAW THIS CONCERN ON THE NEWS AND THEREFOR A BIT LATE REPORTING IT.

THANKFULLY NOT IN ATLANTA, GA TRAFFIC BUT DAYTON, TN TRAFFIC. TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED ENGINE AND DROVE 2 BLOCKS TO FORD DEALERSHIP "SERVICE DEPARTMENT" WHERE I PURCHASED THE NEW F150 XL 6 MONTHS EARLIER (12,000 MILES). TOLD SERVICE MANAGER WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED ALONG WITH ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHT. SERVICE TECHNICIANS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM ON COMPUTER OR TEST DRIVES. EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD SEEN THE SAME PROBLEM BEFORE "FORD MOTOR COMPANY " WOULD NOT ALLOW THEM TO REPAIR IT UNLESS THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER FOR EAST TENNESSEE, I STATED TO HER THIS WAS NOT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP PROBLEM, FINANCIAL PROBLEM OR WAS IT A WARRANTY PROBLEM (12K OF 36K). THIS WAS A SAFETY PROBLEM. AGAIN SHE STATED IF THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT BY DRIVING OR COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC TEST THEY COULDN'T FIX IT. I ALSO SPOKE TO HER SUPERIOR HE APOLOGIZED BUT THEY CANNOT FIX A PROBLEM THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE. AFTER THREATENING A TO CONTACT MY LAWYER, WHICH DID NOT PHASE HER. I PICKED UP MY TRUCK AND WAS HEADING TO ANOTHER LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO TRADE IT IN, BECAUSE FORD SAID THEIR WAS NOT A PROBLEM WITH IT. WHEN IT "DUPLICATED" THE SAME PROBLEM WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. IT IS NOW BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP, AFTER A TECHNICIAN WAS SENT TO HOOK UP A COMPUTER WHILE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING ALONG SIDE THE ROAD. HAD TO USE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE TO GET BACK. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD. MY BELIEF AFTER READING OTHER POST ON THIS SITE FORD DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION OR SAFETY.
DRIVING ON INTERRSTATE 70 AT 65 MPH, I HAD SEVERAL ALERTS BEGIN FLASHING RANGING FROM CHECK 4X4, HILL ASSIST FAILURE, 2H, PARKING BRAKE AND MANY MORE. IN ADDITION I LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKE LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TRUCK HOME. THIS HAPPENED 4 MORE TIMES. I CALLED DEALER AND THEY SUGGESTED I DRIVE IT TO THEIR ESTABLISHMENT SOME 20 MILES AWAY. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE AND CONTACTED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO TOW THE TRUCK. I HAD TO BEG FOR A LOANER ONE WEEK LATER I RECEIVED A CALL STATING THE TECHNICIAN NEEDED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK TO SEE IF THE SAME ALERTS HAPPENED EVEN THOUGH THEY FOUND 12 PLUS ALERTS WHEN THEY ANALYZED THE TRUCK IN THEIR SHOP. I ALLOWED THIS TO OCCUR AS I WANTED ANSWERS. I RECEIVED A CALL TODAY STATING THEY HAD FOUND THE PROBLEM, A WIRE HAD BECAME CORRODED IN THE STEERING COLUMN CAUSING ALL THE ALERTS TO MALFUNCTION. THEY ARE REPLACING THE ENTIRE COLUMN AND MY TRUCK WILL BE COMPLETED BY TUESDAY. I HAD PURCHASED THIS TRUCK JUST 4 MONTHS PRIOR AND HAVE BEEN A LOYAL FORD CUSTOMER FOR 30+ YEARS.
MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ON A SUNNY DAY AT AROUND 70 MPH. I WAS USING ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. THEN IT CAME OUT OF THE WARNING AND WE CONTINUED ON OUR WAY (WE WERE IN A BIT OF SHOCK). I OF COURSE TURNED OFF THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SO THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER MY COMPLETE CONTROL. THINKING BACK, I'M WONDERING IF THE SHADOW FROM AN OVERPASS CAUSED MY TRUCK TO THINK THERE WAS A VEHICLE CLOSE AND AN IMPENDING CRASH. EITHER WAY, IT WAS VERY UNSAFE, AND I'M HOPING IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN TO ME, OR ANYONE ELSE.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT ~65MPH DURING RUSH HOUR AND THE BRAKES FAILED. FIRST A WARNING LIGHT ABOUT LOW BRAKE FLUID THEN FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. THE ADVANCE TRACK WARNING LIGHT AND FUEL ASSIST START WARNING LIT UP THEN THE ENGINE SPEED DECREASED TO 1000 RPMS AND NO ACCELORATION AVAILABLE THIS HAPPENED ON ANN STATE HIGHWAY FROM 70 MPH DROPPING DOWN TO 10 MPH THIS TOOK OVER 30 DAYS TO FIX. SEEMED TO BE MISSED DIAGNOSED FOR WEEKS. MECHANICS UNABLE TO FIND PROBLEM. PARTS WERE SHIPPED AND DELAYED AND LOST. WIRING HARNESSES AND PCM AND FINALLY THROTTLE BODY SEEMED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MIXED UP BECAUSE COMPUTER TOLD MECHANICS ONE THING BUT REALLY ANOTHER.
VEHICLE W/ LESS THAN 3,800 MILES. PLACED VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND THE RPMS SPIKED AND VEHICLE TOOK OFF. HARD BRAKED TO GAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE THE TIRES CONTINUED TO SPIN ON ROAD SURFACE. FORCED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK UNTIL THE RMPS DROPPED TO NORMAL RANGE THAN PLACED INTO DRIVE AGAIN, BUT WITH OUT INCIDENT.

BRAKE FLUID LOW LEVEL LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING A VERY BUSY ROAD AND WITHIN 2 MINUTES THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD DEPLETED ALL FLUID AND BRAKE PEDAL WAS GOING ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR BOARD. LUCKILY THE WIFE WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK INTO A PARKING LOT UNSCATHED. TRUCK HAS BEEN AT DEALER FOR A WEEK DUE TO MASTER CYLINDER BEING ON BACKORDER. APPARENTLY THE ISSUE AFFECTING 2013-2014 F-150S IS ALSO AFFECTING 2015S AS WELL. TRUCK HAS APPROX. 15K MILES.
BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING LOW FLUID. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL GARAGE AND THEY DETERMINED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED AND ALSO BRAKE FLUID HAD LOOKED INTO THE BOOSTER. THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR A FEW DAYS. WE DROVE THE VEHICLE 5 MILES WITHOUT ISSUE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NEAREST FORD DEALER NEARLY 40 MILES AWAY. THAT FORD DEALER HAS FAILED TO BEGIN REPAIRS, CLAIMING THEY ARE BUSY AND CONSEQUENTLY IT WILL TAKE 4 OR MORE DAYS TO REPAIR. WE ARE 12 HOURS FROM HOME AND STRANDED BY THIS NEW PICKUP. THIS IS PRECISELY THE SAME ISSUE AS RAISED IN THE COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA ID NUMBER 10873438

ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (ETB) FAILED. VEHICLE HAS 8206 MILES ON IT. BOUGHT BRAND NEW. WHILE DRIVING ON A FAIRLY UNTRAVELED ROAD THE ENGINE POWER WAS CUT AND I HAD TO COAST TO A SAFE LOCATION. THE ACCELERATOR ONLY ALLOWED FOR A SPEED UNDER ~4 MPH WHICH I NEEDED TO GET ON THE SIDE STREET. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN AS I WAS EXCITING MY DRIVEWAY WHICH IS ON A DANGEROUS STREET DUE TO CURVES (LUCKILY THERE WERE NO CARS COMING FROM EITHER DIRECTION). THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH FORD AND MERCURY VEHICLES SINCE AT LEAST 2010 BASED ON MY RESEARCH. NTSB HAS FAILED TO HAVE FORD RECALL THEIR VEHICLES TO REPLACE THIS SYSTEM. THIS ISSUE RESULTS IN (MY EXPERIENCE) COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER TO THE ENGINE. IT MAY ALSO LEAD TO FULL POWER TO THE ENGINE. IF EITHER OCCURS IT HAS A POTENTIAL TO RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH (SUDDEN SLOWDOWN IN HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC OR SUDDEN INCREASE IN VELOCITY IN AN AREA WITH PEDESTRIANS). I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE NTSB HAS NOT MADE FORD CONDUCT A RECALL CONSIDERING THE POTENTIAL DANGER THIS MAY CAUSE. NTSB HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT HAS FAILED TO FORCE FORD TO CORRECT IT. WHILE ON VACATION AND TOWING A 16' ENCLOSED TRAILER THE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL MODULE (TBC) FAILED. WHILE DRIVING, FAILURE WAS TEMPORARILY INDICATED BY A MOMENTARY WINKING OFF, THEN BACK ON, OF THE TOW HAUL MODE INDICATOR. NO TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL FAILURE CODE WAS GIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO THE NEXT STOP AT WHICH TIME IT WAS TURNED OFF. AFTER RE-STARTING AND ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE, THE TRAILER BRAKES WERE FULLY LOCKED. AFTER REMOVING THE ELECTRIC PIGTAIL CONNECTOR THE TRAILER BRAKES RELEASED AND IT WAS TAKEN TO A NEARBY RV DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE FAULT WAS WITH THE VEHICLE NOT THE TRAILER. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER WERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED. THE DEALER INDICATED THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, AT WHICH TIME IT WAS DETERMINED THE BEST SOLUTION WAS TO INSTALL AN AFTERMARKET UNIT WHICH WAS DONE SO THE FOLLOWING DAY. ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, NEITHER FORD NOR THE DEALER WOULD COVER THE COST. FAILURE OF THE TBC AT HIGHWAY SPEED MAY CAUSE THE TRAILER BRAKES TO LOCK, CAUSING SERIOUS DAMAGE OR INJURY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM AS INDICATED BY THE BACK ORDERED PART AND NOTING SEVERAL THREADS REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE ON THE F150 FORUM. THE 2ND ONE PROVIDES PROTECTION ONLY IN STRICTLY HARD BRAKING SITUATIONS, NOT SLOW-THEN-HARD BRAKING.

NOW " CHECK HILL DECENT" HAS APPEARED AND TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE MORE THAN 2-3 MPH. THIS HAS OCCURED TWICE IN FIRST 8,000 MILES ON CITY STREETS IN MOTION OR WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP LIGHT.
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT TENSIONER FAILED. IT IS STUCK IN TENSION MODE, IT WILL NOT RETRACT NOR EXPAND. THERE IS A RECALL ON F150S BUILT JANUARY 22ND 2015 TO MARCH 17TH 2015 SUPERCREW MODELS BUT MINE IS BUILT IN JUNE OF 2015 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER RECOGNIZED THE ISSUE AND I'M BRINGING IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR TODAY JUNE 15TH, 2016. THIS SHOULD BE AN FYI THAT OTHER PRODUCTION MIGHT BE AFFECTED AND NOT JUST THE MODELS LISTED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL. I WAS BACKING UP THE TRUCK WHEN THE SEAT BELT TIGHTENED UP AND THEN STAYED THAT WAY. IT WON'T EXPAND NOR RETRACT. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JUNE 13, 2016 ON A LOCAL CITY ROAD AT AN INTERSECTION; WHERE A VEHICLE FAILED TO YIELD TO RIGHT OF WAY, CAUSING ME TO HIT THEM HEAD ON, ON THEIR FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS TRAVELING NO MORE THAT 35 MPH. I SUSTAINED THESE INJURIES BECAUSE THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO LOCK ON IMPACT TO RESTRAIN ME FROM HITTING THE AIRBAG SO HARD.
10,600 MILES ON THIS NEW 2015 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST 3.7 ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT 5:15PM ON HIGHWAY 84, THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER AND COASTED TO A STOP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE TRUCK SHOOK AND VIBRATED, THE ENGINE LIGHT, ANTI SLIP AND TOOL ICON LIGHT ALL CAME ON. THE TRUCK SHOWED THE ENGINE WAS AT 1000 RPM BUT WOULD NOT MOVE OR REACT TO MY PUSHING THE GAS PETAL. THE THROTTLE BODY IS A PART THAT CONTROLS THE AIR INTAKE ON THE ENGINE AND WHEN IT FAILS THE ENGINE LOSES POWER AND CANNOT PULL A TRAILER. THE ENGINE DOES NOT STALL, BUT IT DOES SHUDDER ENOUGH TO SHAKE THE VEHICLE. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND UPON RESTART COULD MOVE OUT OF TRAFFIC. THIS OCCURRED TWO MORE TIMES TILL I COULD MAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THE PART IS BACKORDERED DUE TO DEMAND. WHEN THIS PART FAILS IT COULD PUT THE DRIVER AND OTHER VEHICLES IN A LIFE SITUATION AS I WAS WITHOUT AN AREA TO PULL OFF AND SEMIS ON THE ROAD WITH POOR VISIBILITY. I HAVE BEEN WAITING AT A DEALERSHIP FOR 3 DAYS FOR THE PART STUCK IN MY TRAILER AND NO KNOWN TIMEFRAME FOR WHEN THE PART WILL ARRIVE. LEARNED THIS MORNING THAT THE PART WAS SHIPPING WAS CANADA, BUT NO DELIVERY TIMEFRAME.
WINDSHIELD COWL PANELS LEAK RAIN WATER INTO TOP OF THE ENGINE WHERE THE TWO COWL PIECES MEET IN THE MIDDLE. I SUSPECT LOOKING AT OTHER 2015 AND 2016 F150 MODELS THEY HAVE OR WILL HAVE THE ISSUE OF LEAKING WATER ONTO THE ENGINE. BESIDES POSSIBLE CORROSION OR DAMAGE TO ENGINE, THIS COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL AND MAYBE A SAFETY PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE IS A 2015 FORD F-150 EXTENDED CAB. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT, BUT THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OF THE SEATBELT/DOOR LATCHES. DESIGN OF THE REAR DOORS AND THE LATCHES TRAPS THE REAR SEAT PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF THE INCAPACITATION OF THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. THE REAR DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED UNLESS THE FRONT DOOR IS OPENED FIRST. THERE IS NO WAY FOR A REAR SEAT PASSENGER TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE FRONT DOOR IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, AND THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF EGRESS FOR REAR SEAT PASSENGERS. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT AFFECTING ALL 2015 F-150 CREW CAB PICKUPS. SO FAR THERE I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT, BUT THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD BEFORE THERE ARE TRAGIC RESULTS FROM THE DESIGN ERROR.
2015 FORD F150 PURCHASED NEW, LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD WHILE OPERATING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, HEARD A LOUD "CLUNK" SOUND LOSES ALL POWER, ALL WARNING LIGHTS ACTIVATE ON THE PANEL. HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN THE PAST WEEK. FORTUNATELY ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE. SIGNIFICANT HIGHWAY SAFETY HAZARD.
DRIVER SIDE FRONT SEAT FEELS AS IF IT MOVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE AS THE VEHICLE CORNERS. IT FEELS AS IF A PART IS LOOSE IN THE HORIZONTAL PORTION OF THE SEAT. THIS STARTED OCCURRING A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE (DEC. 2015).
RUNNING BOARD FAILURE ON F150 2015 LARIAT. MY 2015 LARIAT CAME WITH FACTORY INSTALLED RUNNING BOARDS WHICH WE NEED AS MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH 68 YEARS OLD. THE RUNNING BOARDS MAKE GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAB SAFE AND EASY, AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT. AFTER 9 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP MY WIFE FELL WHILE GETTING INTO THE TRUCK CAUSING BRUISING AND CONTUSIONS TO HER LEGS. I LOOKED CAREFULLY AT THE RUNNING BOARDS AFTER THAT INCIDENT AND FOUND THAT THE RUBBER LIKE TREADS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE TRACTION WHEN STEPPED ON HAD COME LOOSE AND WERE MOVING ABOUT 1/2" FROM SIDE TO SIDE ON THE CHROME METAL STEP SIDE PLATFORM. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER WHO INSPECTED IT AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE RUNNING BOARD. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THIS SO I MONITORED IT CAREFULLY. NINE (9) MONTHS LATER I FOUND THAT NOT ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE AS COMING LOOSE AGAIN BUT SO WAS THE DRIVER SIDE. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE RUBBER/PLASTIC COMPOSITE THAT THE NON SLIP TREADS ARE MADE OF ARE SIMPLE PUSHED THROUGH HOLES IN THE RUNNING BOARD STEEL PLATE MATERIAL WITH NO PROTECTION ON THE INSERTED NECKS OF THE TREAD FROM BEING EATEN AWAY BY THE EDGES OF THE HOLES IN THE PLATE CAUSING THE NECKS OF THE TREADS TO DETERIORATE QUICKLY DUE TO CHAFING. THIS ENTIRE MATTER AND THE WAY FORD RESPONDED TO MY REQUEST TO COVER THE DEFECTIVE PARTS UNTIL THEY CAN FIND A SAFE AND RELIABLE SOLUTION LEFT ME SAD. MY WIFE SHOULD NOT BE SUBJECTED TO POSSIBLE SERIOUS INJURY FOR WHAT FORD'S REGIONAL MANAGER WOULD LIKE TO CLASSIFY AS A COSMETIC ISSUE. STEP TREADS ON A STEEL RUNNING BOARD ARE A SAFETY FEATURE NOT A COSMETIC ADD ON. FORD MUST KNOW BY NOW THAT THIS ISSUE ISN'T ISOLATED TO MY VEHICLE AND THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TREADS AND THE DESIGN IN GENERAL. IT IS A SHAME THEY WOULD LET A $10 TREAD TARNISH THE REVIEWS OF THEIR NEW ALUMINUM BODY LINE OF TRUCKS.
