AT FREEZING TEMPERATURES, THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT ALWAYS OPEN. IF IT DOES, IT MAY NOT LATCH WHEN CLOSING AND I HAVE TO DRIVE HOME HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER LAST WINTER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY THERE IS A TSB FROM FORD IDENTIFIED AS 15-0052. THIS IS A NUISANCE AT MINIMUM AND DANGEROUS IF THE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE. MY MODEL IS A SUPER CAB.
I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON THE ROADWAY WHEN I HEARD A BANG, LIKE A GUN SHOT. I PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED MY REAR WINDSHIELD HAD SHATTERED. IT HAD BEEN RATHER THE COLD THE NIGHT BEFORE, I DID HAVE THE FRONT DEFROST ON BUT NOT THE REAR DEFROST. I OBSERVED NOTHING SUSPICIOUS OR UNUSAL ABOUT THE BACK OF THE TRUCK AREA OR TOP OF CAB. FURTHER, THERE WERE NO OBVIOUS HOLES OR OTHER MARKINGS.
WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID FROZEN IN LINES. WHEN PUSHING THE WASHER FLUID BUTTON WHILE DRIVING, THE WIPERS WOULD WIPE BUT NOT WASHER FLUID WOULD COME OUT CAUSING A DANGEROUS VISIBILITY SITUATION. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THAT DAY WHILE THEY WERE STILL FROZEN AND THE DEALER SAID I DID HAVE THE CORRECT WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID IN THEM, BUT THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM FREEZING, SO THEY SAID THEY DUMPED MORE ALCOHOL IN THE TANK AND SAID TO LET IT THAW OVERNIGHT IN THE GARAGE (THANKFULLY I HAVE A HEATED GARAGE, BUT MANY DON'T SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT THEIR SOLUTION WOULD BE). I ASKED THE DEALER TO PERFORM THE TSB CURRENTLY OUT THAT COVERS THIS VERY SITUATION. THEY SAID THEY PUT MORE ALCOHOL IN THE TANK AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. THE DEALER WAS DAHL FORD LOCATED IN ONALASKA, WI. THIS EVEN BEING A PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH IS A ALARMING, AND A DEALER NOT WILLING TO FIX SUCH AN IMPORTANT PROBLEM WHEN IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE IS JUST AS MUCH OF AN ALARM! SECONDLY, MY DOOR LATCHES ALSO FREEZE ON THE TRUCK WHEN TEMPS ARE BELOW FREEZING. ALL 4 DOORS OF MY CREW CAB ARE AFFECTED. DEPENDING ON THE DAY, IT VARIES WHICH ONE FREEZES. I HAVE STOPPED USING CAR WASHES AND TRYING TO KEEP MY TRUCK AS DRY AS POSSIBLE TO NO AVAIL. ONCE THESE LATCHES FREEZE, THE DOOR WILL EITHER NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK (DEPENDING ON THE LAST POSITION OF THE SWITCH), OR WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR AND SHUT IT, THE DOOR MECHANISM WILL NOT GRAB AND HOLD THE DOOR SHUT. AFTER REPEATED SLAMMINGS I CAN USUALLY GET IT TO LOCK, BUT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I HAVE TO CARRY BUNGEE CORDS AROUND IN CASE MY DOORS WON'T CLOSE AND I HAVE TO BUNGEE CORD THEM CLOSED TO DRIVE HOME! I HAVE A NEWBORN, I CAN'T HAVE THIS CRAP ON A TRUCK WITH 20K MILES! MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THESE EXACT SAME ISSUES, I ONLY FOUND OUT HOW MANY THERE WERE AFTER DOING AN ONLINE SEARCH FOR A FIX. *TR
THE POWER LOCKS ON MY TRUCK TO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. SOME TIMES THEY WILL NOT UNLOCK AND SOME TIMES THAT WILL NOT LOCK. THIS MORNING I UNLOCK THE DRIVERS DOOR AND GO TO THE STORE, I GET TO THE STORE AND UNLOCK THE REAR DRIVERS DOOR. I COME BACK OUT OF THE STORE AND ONLY 1 DOOR OF THE 4 DOORS WOULD UNLOCK, (DRIVERS DOOR) I REACH ACROSS AND OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, PUT THE GROCERIES AND THEN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK.
IN COLD WEATHER, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCHES ARE INOPERABLE. THE DOOR LATCH FAILS TO ENGAGE, ALLOWING THE DOOR TO OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. DURING RIGHT HAND TURNS, BUMPS IN THE ROAD, OR WHEN LIGHT PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE DRIVER SIDE DOORS, THE VEHICLE RETURNS A "DOOR AJAR" WARNING AS THE DOOR OPEN ITSELF. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS IN THE "SUPERCAB" CONFIGURATION, AS THE REAR DOOR ALSO CONTAINS THE SEAT BELT FOR THE DRIVER. IF THE DOOR WERE TO OPEN FULLY, THIS COULD DISRUPT THE DRIVER'S ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, OR POTENTIALLY THROW THEM OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SYSTEM FAILURE CAN ALSO BE EASILY REPLICATED WHEN STATIONARY. OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND LIGHTLY PULL ON THE REAR DOOR. YOU CAN SEE THE LATCH FAILING TO ENGAGE AS THE DOOR MOVE FREELY AT THE BOTTOM INSTEAD OF STAYING LOCKED SHUT. WHEN IN MOTION, THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS, FROM PARKING LOT MANEUVERS TO HIGHWAY TRAVEL. THE FIRST INSTANCE OF THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AT APPROXIMATELY 17*F. THE DOOR JAMBS AND LATCH ASSEMBLIES WERE CONFIRMED TO BE FREE OF ICE, SNOW, OR ANY OTHER DEBRIS.
FREEZING WINDSHIELD WASHERS.
DOOR LATCHES ARE FROZEN AND INOPERABLE IN TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING. DOORS WILL NOT OPEN, AND IF THEY DO OPEN, THEY WILL NOT CLOSE. A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. TRUCK WAS PARKED IN MY LOT OVER NIGHT. EVENTS OCCURRED DURING THE MONTHS OF 12/2016 AND 01/2017. I LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA, A PLACE WHERE IT DOES NOT GET BELOW FREEZING OFTEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSIDE DOOR LOCKS WOULD FREEZE AT VERY LOW TEMPERATURES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE PARTS TO REMEDY THE ISSUE WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
DOORS WILL FREEZE SHUT MAKING ENTRY/EXIT OF THE VEHICLE IMPOSSIBLE IN TEMP'S UNDER 20* THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES THIS WINTER ALONE. THE COLD TEMP IS WHAT'S AFFECTING IT, SINCE MOISTURE WAS NOT PRESENT 3/4 TIMES.
SUNROOF SHATTERED WHILE PARKED IN OUR GARAGE. THE GLASS IS BOWED UPWARD INDICATING THE SUNROOF WAS NOT HIT BY ANYTHING FROM THE OUTSIDE. TEMPERATE OUTSIDE WAS IN THE TEENS.
2015 F-150 LARIAT SUPERCREW CAB DOOR LOCKS AND TAIL GATE BECOME FROZEN IN COLD WEATHER. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN LATELY WITH COLD TEMPS IN MICHIGAN WINTER. GOT UP THIS MORNING WITH MY KIDS TO TAKE THEM TO SCHOOL, GOT THEM IN THE CAR AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED (REAR PASSENGER). CHECKED THE LATCHES, THE MECHANICS SEEMED TO BE WORKING (HANDLE, ETC.) BUT I COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO STAY CLOSED. HAPPENS ON THE DOORS (ALL 4) AND THE TAILGATE (TAILGATE WOULD NOT OPEN).
BRAKE PEDAL BLED OFF AND MESSAGE CENTAR ALERTED OF BRAKE MALFUNCTION. DEALER TO REPLACE MASTER CYL. AND BOOSTER. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED.
'2015 F-150 SUPERCAB AND SUPERCREW CAB VEHICLES BUILT ON OR BEFORE 3/25/2015 MAY EXHIBIT INOPERATIVE DOOR LATCHES DURING OR AFTER FREEZING TEMPERATURES.' - TSB 15-0052 TSB 16-0155 (2016) DOOR LATCH RECALL 17S33 (2017) FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM/RECALL 18N03 (2018).... LATEST ON RECORD..... THE DOOR LATCH PROBLEMS PERSIST DURING COLD WEATHER CAUSING DOORS TO NOT OPEN AT ALL OR NOT LATCH WHILE DRIVING. THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WHILE DRIVING. MY PROBLEM STARTED IN JANUARY OF 2017 AND HAS PERSISTED EVERY WINTER SINCE THEN. REGARDLESS OF ANY REPAIR ATTEMPTS MADE BY THE DEALERSHIP VIA FORD RECOMMENDED REPAIRS. MILEAGE AT FIRST CONCERN IS ESTIMATED.
WINDSHIELD WIPER SPRAYER NOT WORKING IN COLDER WEATHER. OCCURRED WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE UNDER 20 DEGREES ALSO ANOTHER OWNER EXPERIENCE THIS THAT SAME DAY. ITS HAPPENED TWICE NOW IN THE PAST WEEK. VISIBILITY WITH WINDOWS ICING/SMEARED DIRT IS TROUBLESOME WHETHER ON HIGHWAY OR DRIVING IN GENERAL. HIGHLY CONCERNED I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SAFELY SEE TO PULL OVER. LOVE THE TRUCK BUT THIS IS CONCERNING. *TR
AT RANDOM TIMES: SOME OR ALL OF MY DOORS EITHER WON'T CLOSE OR WILL NOT OPEN. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHILE IT IS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD! THERE ARE NUMEROUS VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE SHOWING THIS HAPPENING. THE RECALL PART THAT I HAD DONE WITH FORD DID NOT HELP AT ALL! I NO LONGER HAVE A FORD DEALERSHIP IN MY TOWN. WHEN I DID THE LAST RECALL WORK FOR THE "RAIN GUARDS" I HAD TO PAY UP FRONT THEN WAIT TO BE PAID BACK. THIS WAS A COMPLETE WASTE, THEY ACTUALLY FROZE OPEN AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT FORD KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
DRIVER DOOR FREQUENTLY WILL NOT LATCH SHUT IN COLD WEATHER. THIS MEANS SOMETIMES BEING STRANDED OR HAVING TO DRIVE WITH THE DRIVER'S DOOR SWINGING OPEN. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. *TR
ALL FOUR DOORS WILL NOT OPEN WHEN UNLOCKING WITH KEY, KEY FOB, OR DOOR KEYPAD FROM EITHER SIDE OF THE DOOR; INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS IN THE EVENT THAT THE VEHICLE IS IN A CRASH AND A PASSENGER IS UNABLE TO EXIT DUE TO THE DOOR NOT OPENING OR EMERGENCY CREWS CANNOT ACCESS THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN ATTEMPTED TO BE REPAIRED TWICE BY THE DEALER AND BOTH TIMES THE DEALER HAS STATED THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. THE TSB 16-0155 ISSUED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS NOT WORKING AND THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE VEHICLE ISSUES.
IN REFERENCE TO TSB 15-0052, CURRENTLY REFERENCED UNDER TSB 16-0155 DOOR LOCKS BECOME INOPERABLE IN FREEZING CONDITIONS. I HAVE CURRENTLY BEEN WAITING TWO WEEKS FOR BACK ORDERED PARTS. WITH MULTIPLE TSB'S THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR FORD AND BACK ORDERED PARTS OVER A YEAR LATER SHOULD BE UNACCEPTABLE. FORD'S NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS OF LITTLE HELP, CREATING CASE # 115-897-76 AND DIRECTING ME TO TALK WITH THE MANAGER OF MY DEALERSHIP. MY INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE INCLUDES A DRIVERS DOOR THAT WILL ONLY OPEN FROM INSIDE AND DOES NOT SHUT UNLESS I MANUALLY LOCK THE DOOR. ELECTRONIC LOCKS COMPLETELY FAIL. TO PUSH THE LOCK ON TOP OF THE DOOR (IN ORDER TO SECURELY CLOSE) HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT, ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS SEIZED. DRIVING IS A SAFETY CONCERN NOT KNOWING THE STATE OF HOW FUNCTIONAL AND RELIABLE THE DOOR LATCH AND HARDWARE IS. DOOR, KNOWINGLY AJAR, HAS PREVIOUSLY OPENED WHILE DRIVING BEFORE I FOUND PUSHING THE LOCK IN ALLOWS IT TO CLOSE. SURE HOPE OTHERS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE KNOW THIS TRICK. *TR
THIS IS A WORK TRUCK DRIVEN BY SEVERAL PEOPLE. VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES KEEP ACCELERATING WITHOUT PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. ALSO WILL NOT DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL. HAVE TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND WAIT A FEW SECONDS FOR ENGINE RPM TO LOWER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON. HAS BEEN TO FORD DEALER ON 12/05/16 AND 12/20/16-1/10/17. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE PROBLEM.
SUPERCREWS REAR DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK ELECTRONICALLY. ALSO DRIVER DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK ELECTRONICALLY(BUTTON OR KEY FOB) OR MANUALLY EITHER INSIDE OR WITH KEY OUTSIDE. ALSO ONCE OPEN, THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH WHEN CLOSED. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING. HAS ONLY HAPPENED STATIONARY AND ON DIFFERENT DAYS. LEAVING THE TRUCK RUN WITH HEAT ON HIGH ALLOWS THE DOORS TO LOCK/LATCH. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE KEY LOCK OR DOOR SEALS FREEZING AS THERE WAS NO ADVERSE WEATHER OTHER THAN THE COLD TEMPERATURE. DEALER INFORMED ME THAT IT HAPPENS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS 22F OR COLDER AND THAT THEY HAVE MORE COMPLAINTS BUT NOT ENOUGH FOR A RECALL. INFORMED THAT FORD IS WORKING ON A FIX AND THE PARTS ARE CURRENTLY BACKORDER. SAW ONLINE THAT IT LOOKS LIKE THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS STYLE TRUCK FOR OVER A YEAR. *TR
BRAKE FAILURE, NO BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS. PEDDLE PROVIDED SOME BRAKING INITIALLY, THEN PEDDLE FADES TO FLOOR AND BRAKING DIMINISHES TO NOT ABLE TO HOLD VEHICLE TO COMPLETE STOP, EVEN AT IDLE SPEED. PUMPING PEDDLE WILL RESTORE SAME SEQUENCE. I WOULD THINK THIS WOULD BE EXTREMELY SCARY TO NOVICE DRIVERS AND CAUSE INJURY, DEATH OR COLLISION WITH HIGH PROBABILITY. ESPECIALLY WITH ABSENCE OF WARNING LAMPS INDICATION. FIRST TIME PROBLEM NOTED ON NEAR ZERO DEGREE F. MORNING SHORTLY AFTER LEAVING EARLY AM ON HIGHWAY. SUSPECT PROBLEM TO BE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. BRAKE FLUID LEVEL HAS NOT CHANGED, SEARCH FOR EXTERNAL LEAKS IN BRAKING SYSTEMS REVEALED NO VISIBLE LEAKS. VEHICLE CURRENTLY IN TO SERVICE THIS AT FRANCIOS FORD BELLVILLE WI. *TR
THE DOOR/LATCHES WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN, THE LATCHES BREAK, THE LOCKS WONT GO UP OR DOWN AND YOU ARE EITHER LOCKED OUT R LOCKED IN AND CANNOT OPEN THE DOORS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. ALSO- THE LATCHES DON'T WORK IN COLD WEATHER SO THE DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE AND THEY FLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING. MY REAL ISSUE IS THAT ACCORDING TO THE TSB FORD COMPANY KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM ON THE 2015 F150S IN APRIL OF 2015 AND I DID NOT BUY THIS TRUCK UNTIL DECEMBER OF 2015! THAT IS 8 MONTHS!! AND IT HAS HAPPENED TO NOT ONLY 2015S BUT ALSO 2016S AND 2017S! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. FORD IS GETTING AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE IT ONLY HAPPENS IN COLD WEATHER MONTHS AND NOT TO EVERY FORD TRUCK. THE TSB NUMBERS ARE - FORD TSB 16-0155 FOR 2015-2017 F150 DOOR LATCH & LOCKING IN COLD WEATHER AND FORD TSB # 15-0052: HERE IS A LINK TO A SITE WHERE THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS IN THE FORUM HTTPS://WWW.FORDF150.NET/FORUMS/VIEWTOPIC.PHP?T=123522. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE DOORS NOT CLOSING AFTER THEY SAY THEY FIXED IT. I WILL PUT A DATE OF OCCURENCE BELOW, BUT THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE TRUCK WAS ALSO FIXED TWO TIMES FOR THIS REASON, PROBLEMS STILL PERSIST.
BOTTOM LATCH IN REAR DOOR, PASSENGER SIDE (SUPERCAB) WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT DURING A COLD SPELL, CAUSING A WARNING NOTIFICATION WHILE DRIVING THAT THE REAR DOOR WAS OPEN. I PULLED ON BOTTOM OF DOOR AND VERIFIED THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT LATCHED AND IT WOULD MOVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS AND THERE IS A FORD SSM THAT ONLY DEALERS CAN SEE ON THIS ISSUE (#46260). THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL AS I HAD MY DAUGHTER NEXT TO THIS DOOR. MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL SOMEONE FALLS OUT A DOOR. WHAT HAPPENS IS MOISTURE IS RUNNING DOWN THE DOORS AND ONTO THE LATCHES. IT THEN FREEZES ON THE LATCH, CAUSING THEM NOT TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THIS ESPECIALLY HAPPENS AFTER GOING THROUGH A CAR WASH ON A VERY COLD DAY OR AFTER A RAIN EVENT AND THEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS. ALSO, DURING THE SAME TIME MY FRONT DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR HANDLE WOULD FULLY MOVE. THE LATCHES INTERNAL TO THE DOOR WERE FROZEN DUE TO MOISTURE. FORD IS ALSO AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND ISSUED TSB 16-0155 TO INSTALL RAIN GUARDS ABOVE THE LATCHES. *TR
WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN 20 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE. THEY ARE FROZEN IN THE OPEN POSITION. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES WITH HEAT ON HIGH (THIS USUALLY REQUIRES ONE HAND HOLDING DOOR CLOSED) THE DOORS WILL EVENTUALLY LATCH. SOMETIMES THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK, EVEN BY USING THE KEY. WHEN THIS OCCURS, I HAVE TO GET IN THE TRUCK THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. WHEN I DO THIS, THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO STRAP THE DOOR CLOSED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND TROUBLESOME AS THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE. *TR
I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN MY 2015 FORD F150 POWER DOORS USING THE KEY FOB, DOOR CODE BUTTONS, OR GRIP HANDLE SENSORS. THIS WAS MOST CONCERNING BECAUSE THE ISSUE STARTED WITH THE REAR DOORS; THIS CAUSED MY CHILD TO BECOME STUCK IN THE VEHICLE. THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW FREEZING AT THIS TIME. IF I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO RELEASE THE DOOR THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY ISSUES TO MY YOUNG CHILDREN. THIS ISSUE HAS SINCE PROGRESSED TO ALL DOORS BECOMING DYSFUNCTIONAL. MY VEHICLE IS NOW AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. MY VEHICLE WAS BOTH STATIONARY AND IN MOTION AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAY. I BOUGHT MY F150 IN THE LATE SUMMER OF 2015. DURING THE WINTER OF 2015 TO 2016 MY F150 WAS GARAGED WITH NO ISSUES. DURING THE WINTER OF 2016 TO 2017 MY F150 WAS NOT IN THE GARAGE AND DURING THE MONTHS OF DECEMBER THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGERS DOORS LOCKS WOULD NOT OPEN AND OR CLOSE. IT WAS MY OPTION THAT A AUTOMATIC STARTER WOULD HELP BECAUSE THE TRUCK WOULD BE ABLE TO HEAT UP AND THE DOORS WOULD OPEN AND CLOSE PROPERLY (HOPEFULLY). FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES, AFTER THE TRUCK WARMS UP THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS WORKED. UNFORTUNATELY THE AUTOMATIC STARTER DID NOT HELP. THE TRUCK WOULD RUN AROUND 25 TO 35 MINUTES BEFORE THE LOCKS WOULD UNLOCK PROPERLY BUT THE LOCKING MECHANISM WOULD NOT LOCK THE DOOR AFTER BEING CLOSED AND OTHER TIMES THE LOCKING MECHANISM DID LOCK THE DOORS WHEN CLOSED. THE LAST STRAW WAS THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM WAS LOCKED AND MY KIDS WERE IN THE BACK SEAT DRIVING DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY TO THE BUS STOP AND AS I STOPPED THE LEFT REAR DOOR OPENED ON ITS OWN. IT WAS MENTIONED THAT THERE IS A TSB ISSUED REGARDING THE TWO PROBLEMS HAPPENING IN COLD WEATHER. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY 2015 F150 SINCE JANUARY 16TH 2017 BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. THE PICKUP IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH THE DOORS NOT BEING ABLE TO BE SECURED IN COLD WEATHER. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVER NIGHT (LESS THAN 10 HOURS) I RECEIVED A BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING WHEN STARTING. I FILLED BRAKE FLUID AND WHEN I BEGAN TO DRIVE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKING ABILITY. I CHECKED THE FLUID AGAIN AND IT WAS BACK TO EMPTY. ADDED MORE FLUID IT DRAINED ALSO. NOW I CAN SLIGHTLY SMELL BRAKE FLUID IN THE CAB. THE VEHICLE IS UNDRIVABLE. VERY SCARY!

ON FRIDAY 10/28 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 55 MILES/HOUR AT APPROXIMATELY 6:30PM WITH VEHICLES AHEAD OF AND BEHIND MY TRUCK, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO GIVE A NUMBER OF CHECK ENGINE ALERTS, AT WHICH TIME THE ENGINE RPMS DROPPED TO VERY LOW LEVELS AND BEGAN TO STALL AND THE ACCELERATOR NO LONGER RESPONDED. HAD TRUCK TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WITHIN THE HOUR. I WAS VERY LUCKY IN THIS SITUATION, FOR HAD I BEEN IN A CONSTRUCTION AREA OR ON A BRIDGE, THE SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. THIS SAME SITUATION OCCURRED ON THE EVENING OF 10/2 WHILE DRIVING 40MPH DOWN A STATE ROAD NEAR MY HOME AND ACCORDING TO THE DEALER WHO ATTENDED TO THE ISSUE, THE BRAKE MODULE HAD FAILED WHICH CAUSED THE SYMPTOMS TO ARISE. IN THAT INSTANCE, THE ACCELERATE FAILED TO RESPOND AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO STALL, WHICH IT DID WHEN I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THEY REPLACED THE MODULE A FEW DAYS LATER. IN ADDITION, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR VIBRATES AND DOES NOT LATCH PROPERLY. TWO DEALERS HAVE FAILED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE TO DATE AND I BELIEVE IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT HAS LARGELY BEEN DISMISSED BY THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS AND DEALERSHIPS INVOLVED. DESPITE NUMEROUS DOCUMENTED ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY HAVE IGNORED THIS CONCERN, HAVE FAILED TO RESPOND TO ME IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND DECLINED A BUYBACK REQUEST. I AM SUBMITTING LEMON LAW DOCUMENTATION FOR THE VEHICLE DURING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 31. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON RENTAL VEHICLES DURING ATTEMPTED REPAIRS TO THE DOORS AND THE BRAKE MODULE SINCE FORD CLAIMS THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF RENTAL VEHICLES DURING WARRANTY REPAIRS.
