WHILE SLOWLY PULLING OUT OF A DRIVE WAY THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. A MECHANIC'S INSPECTION DETERMINED THE BOOSTER FAILED CAUSING BRAKE FLUID TO FLOW INTO THE MASTER CYLINDER. WITH NO FLUID IN THE LINES THERE IS NO STOPPING ABILITY.
REPORTED MY ISSUE ALREADY 11229377 BUT WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT AT A QUICK GLANCE THERE ARE ANOTHER 30+ NHTSA SAFETY COMPLAINTS FOR MY SAME ISSUE. 11022233, 10955596, 11174190, 10870553, 10887486, 11165975, 11150176, 11139022, 11101604, 11048673, 1102997, 11174190 TO NAME A FEW. FORD HAS ALSO ISSUES SEVERAL TSB AND SSM FOR THIS ISSUE. TSB16-0139, TSB17-2124, SSM46829, TSB16B23-S1. AT WHAT POINT DOES NHTSA PUT PRESSURE ON FORD TO RESOLVE THESE ISSUES? WILL IT REQUIRE A DEATH TO BE ASSOCIATED TO THIS ISSUE? A FIRE, ACCIDENTS? THERE ARE ALSO COUNTLESS ONLINE FORUM POSTS ON THIS ISSUE. I CAN FIND NUMEROUS LINKS SHOWING THIS BUT I THINK THE SHEER NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON HERE COUPLED WITH WARRANTY NUMBERS FOR THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT TO OPEN AN INVESTIGATION. I PLAN TO WRITE A LETTER TO MY LOCAL NEWS OUTLETS AND GOVERNOR.
INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS UP WITH VARIOUS FAULT MESSAGES RELATED TO TRACTION CONTROL, DOWNHILL DESCENT, ETC... WITHIN SECONDS THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO STUTTER, FAILS TO RESPOND TO ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE BY PRESSING GAS PEDDLE, AND EVENTUALLY LOSES POWER. HAPPENED TWICE WHILE TRAVELLING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS RESULTING IN A DANGEROUS SCENARIO OF PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY.
ONE WEEK AGO LEFT WORK AND TURNED ON TRUCK. WHEN STARTING TO PULL OUT OF PARKING SPACE ABS LIGHT CAME ON DASH. AFTER GETTING HOME AND CALLING DEALER TO HAVE INSPECTION, WAS INFORMED IT WOULD BE 2 WEEKS TO GET IN FOR SERVICE. AS VEHICLE IS DAILY DRIVER CONTINUED TO DRIVE AROUND TOWN AND TO WORK, A FEW DAYS AFTER REGULAR USE STEERING COLUMN STARTED GETTING HARDER TO TURN AND DEVELOPED CLICKING SOUND. CALLED ANOTHER MECHANIC TO GET IN SOONER AND BEFORE COULD MAKE THAT APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR TWO DAYS LATER ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED UP AND VEHICLE IS UNUSABLE. BEING TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP TODAY. LUCKILY WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN COLUMN LOCKED UP. HAD STARTED VEHICLE IN DRIVEWAY AND WAS PLANNING ON GOING TO STORE WHEN UNABLE TO BACK UP BECAUSE STEERING COLUMNS/WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE. NOW AWAITING WORK FROM REPAIR SHOP ON DOAGNSOSTICS AND ISSUE TO REPAIR. VERY FRUSTRATED AS VEHICLE LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD AND WITH ONLY 70K MILES.
3 MILES INTO MY TRIP WITH SEVERAL STARTS AND STOPS. LOW BREAK FLUID WARNING LIGHT. PULLED OVER WITH WORKING BREAKS BUT RESERVOIR WAS ALMOST EMPTY. LOSS OF BREAKS AFTER A COUPLE MORE STOPS. TOPPED OFF BREAK FLUID RESERVOIR. RAN MOTOR 5 MIN BEFORE LOW FLUID WARNING LIGHT, NO SIGN OF EXTERNAL LEAK. LEAKING APPEARS TO BE FROM MASTER CYLINDER TO VACUUM BUSTER. PULLED VACUUM LINE FROM VACUUM BUSTER ELIMINATED THE LOSS OF FLUID. AND WAS ABLE TO LIMP HOME WITH MANUAL BREAKS.
TRUCK HAD 36335 MILES ON IT AND WE HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. JUST ARRIVED IN PANAMA CITY FLA AND COMING OUT OF GROCERY STORE LOST ALL BRAKES WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET
I WAS PARKED AT A RETAIL STORE WHEN THE CHECK BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CMAE ON. I CHECK THE FLUID AND IT WAS ALMOST EMPTY. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I PURCHASE FLUID AND REPLACED IT AND DROVE HOME ABOUT TWO MILES AWAY. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME THE LIGHT CAME ON AGIN AND THE PEDAL WAS GOING TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKES. I CALLED MY MECHANIC (WHO WORKS FOR FORD) AND HE SAID TO CHECK BECAUSE HE THOUGHT THERE MIGHT BE A RECALL ON THE BRAKES. THERE IS NOT ONE BUT THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE ISSUE. IT IS SO BAD THE MASTER CYLINDER IS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO TIMEFRAME GIVEN ON WHEN IT WILL COME IN. I ALSO CANNOT GET AN AFTER MARKET PART FROM SOMEONE ELSE DUE TO BACKORDERS. IT IS OBVIOUS THERE IS A MASS PROBLEM THAT FORD IS IGNORING A SAFETY ISSUE.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE NORTH TEXAS TOLLWAY TODAY. GET A LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING LIGHT. WHEN I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN THE BRAKES WENT TO FLOOR. 0% BRAKING. FORTUNATELY, COASTED TOT A STOP ON THE INSIDE SHOULDER OF A HIGH SPEED TOLLWAY - DANGEROUS. EVENTUALLY TOWED TO PARK CITIES FORD (DALLAS, TEXAS). HAD I TAKEN THE NEXT EXIT I WOULD HAVE ENTERED A BUSY MULTIPLE LANE HIGHWAY SYSTEM FROM AN ELEVATED OVERPASS. VERY LIKELY WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH HIGH LIKELIHOOD OF INJURY. THIS IS A WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE. RECENT SERVICE. NO WRECKS. NO BRAKE FLUID SEEN WHERE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED PRIOR TO TODAY'S EVENT. ABSOLUTELY, NO WARNING.
DRIVING DOWN ROAD. SMELL ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. A MINUTE LATER THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODES INTO A MILLION PIECES. CALL DEALERSHIP. THEY SAY "WE'VE NEVER SEEN THAT PROBLEM BEFORE." TAKE IT TO WINDOW REPAIR SHOP. "OH WE SEE THIS WITH F150S SEVERAL TIMES PER WEEK." THEY TELL ME ITS DUE TO THE REAR DEFROST NOT AUTOMATICALLY TURNING OFF. I HAD TURNED IT ON A WEEK BEFORE TO DEFROST THE REAR WINDOWS. I HAD NOT TURNED IT ON THE DAY IT EXPLODED. FORD KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE. OTHERWISE, WHY WOULD ONE SMALL WINDOW REPAIR PLACE SEE THIS SEVERAL TIMES/WEEK?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED BY ANTELOPE VALLEY FORD (LOCATED AT 1155 AUTO MALL DR, LANCASTER, CA 93534, (888) 415-0959), THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER, BRAKE CYLINDER, AND BUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE OF THE BRAKE COMPONENTS RENDERED THE BRAKES INOPERABLE. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,178.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUNSET FORD (314-843-4431, LOCATED AT 11700 GRAVOIS RD, ST. LOUIS, MO 63127) FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION, IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT WATER SLIPPED THROUGH THE CHROME SEAL ON THE LUG NUTS, WHICH CAUSED THE LUG NUTS TO SWELL. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IF THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE CHANGED IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, THE LUG NUTS COULD NOT BE REMOVED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT ACTION WAS ALREADY TAKEN AGAINST THE SUPPLIER. THE CONTACT WAS NOT COMPENSATED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED TO NHTSA AND THERE WOULD BE NO REIMBURSEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,658.
RADIO/AUDIO DOES NOT WORK INTERMITTENTLY ON 2016 F150 PLATINUM SYNC SYSTEM. THIS IS WIDELY NONE PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS AND FORD IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS RELATED TO NHTSA ID #10091432. FORD TSB #SSM 45945. THIS WAS A $70,000 AND FORD IS ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX A SIMPLE RADIO ISSUE.
THE WRENCH LIGHT FIRST CAME ON AROUND 42,000 MILES, BUT WOULD SHUT OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TURNED OFF. IT CAME ON A SECOND AND THIRD TIME AROUND THE 50,000 AND 51,750 MILES. SOMETIMES IT WOULD COME BACK ON WHEN DRIVING AGAIN AND SOMETIMES NOT. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT ABOUT 52,000 MILES. WHEN THIS CAME ON, IT WOULD STAY ON. THE TRUCK WOULD SEEM TO LOSE A LOT OF POWER AND THE RPM'S WOULD BEGIN REVVING HIGHER WHILE DRIVING. THIS WOULD BE DRIVING ON ALL ROAD CONDITIONS, HIGHWAY OR CITY, UP AND DOWN HILLS. WE HAD THE TRUCK IN TO CHECK AND THE CODE IT PROVIDED WAS 'DTC S-P0741 TORQUE CONVERTOR CLUTCH SOLENOID CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE STUCK OFF. WILL HAVE TO REPLACE TCC AND IF CONDITION STILL EXISTS, REPLACE THE MAIN VALVE BODY.' THE FIRST FORD DEALER (WHILE ON VACATION) MADE THE REPAIR, BUT THIS DID NOT REPAIR THE TRUCK. (THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN 131 MILES AFTER THE REPAIR AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN 40 MILES LATER OF THE WRENCH LIGHT WARNING.) TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE FORD DEALER WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK AT AND THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE TO THE ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, WAS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND NOT TOWING A CAMPER. ALL THE REMAINING TIMES THE WRENCH AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WAS WHILE TOWING A CAMPER. (NOT SURE IF THIS IS POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE OR NOT, BUT FEEL IT IS WORTH NOTING.) ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL, THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE IS TO AUTOMATICALLY DISABLE WHEN A CAMPER IS HOOKED UP TO THE TRUCK. BUT THIS NEVER SEEMED TO AUTOMATICALLY DISABLE WHEN WE WERE HOOKED UP TO THE TRUCK. ANOTHER ISSUE IS WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK UP FROM A COLD START IT WOULD MAKE A RATTLING NOISE. THIS ONLY HAPPENS FROM COLD STARTS. IF THE TRUCK HAD BEEN RUNNER AWHILE, SHUT OFF AND THEN RESTARTED, IT DID NOT MAKE THE NOISE. FORD IS STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS.
WHEN BACKING THE TRUCK DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AT A LOW SPEED. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AT THE MOMENT YOU HAVE TO CUT LEFT TO AVOID A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH SIGN THAT SITS ADJACENT THE DRIVEWAY. THE LEFT MIRROR BROKE OFF, IMPACTING THE LEFT FRONT QUARTER PANEL RESULTING IN APPROXIMATELY $1,500 DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. I ALSO DAMAGED THE COMMUNITY SIGN REQUIRING REPAIR. AS NOTED IN OTHER NHTSA REPORTS, DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WERE VOID OF STEERING CODES. BATTERY FAILURE WAS NOTED HOWEVER EVEN THOUGH A BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEVER APPEARED. THE DEALERSHIP DOCUMENT NOTED 'LOAD TESTED BATTERY FAILED ' RECOMMEND BATTERY ' CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL ISSUES.' IN OTHER WORDS, EPAS FAILED OR LOCKED DUE TO A BATTERY ISSUE THAT WAS NOT DISPLAYED ON THE CONSOLE.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND ON MY WAY ABOUT 7 MILES INTO MY DRIVE, I RECEIVED A NOTICE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATING MY BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW, I CLICK THE OK BUTTON AND CONTINUED DRIVING, UMMIEDIATELY UPON COMING TO THE NEXT LIGHT TO STOP MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AS I PRESSED HARD TO STOP, THE TRUCK DID NOT STOP AND I RAN THE RED LIGHT BUT MAKING A TURN AND NEARLY HITTING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE TRUCK CAMED TO A ROLLING STOP AND I PRESSED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS TRUCK I PURCHASED LAST YEAR IN FEBRUARY OF 2018 AND HAS ONLY 32,000 MILES BUT FORD SAID THE TRUCK WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND THE COST WAS $1235.41. I AM FIGHTING FORD AND HAD OPENED A CASE BUT THEIR INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THEY ARE NOT AT FAULT! I AM HERE TO SEE IF NHTSA CAN HAVE THEM RECALL THEIR BRAKES.
MASTER CYLINDER FAILED @ 67,675 MILES. FILLED BRAKE BOOSTER WITH BRAKE FLUID. STARTED VEHICLE AND WARNING MESSAGE FOR LOW BRAKE FLUID APPEARED ON THE DASH. HAD EXACTLY 3 MORE BRAKE APPLICATIONS BEFORE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR - NO BRAKES.
DRIVING WITH REAR DEFROST ON NO MORE THAN 10 MINUTES AND I HEARD A LOAD POP. I PULLED OVER AND SEEN MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. I SAW NO IMPACT MARKS FROM ANYTHING. FORD NEEDS TO FIX MY WINDOW. IVE HAD THE TRUCK FOR 31 DAYS NOW AND THIS HAPPENED

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. LAMARQUE FORD (3101 WILLIAMS BLVD, SUITE F, KENNER, LA 70065, (504) 443-2500) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THROTTLE BODY FAILURE: FIRST OCCURRED ON ORIGINAL THROTTLE BODY (OEM PART) IN 2018. VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON AND STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT. HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING, DIAGNOSED AT FORD DEALERSHIP. REPLACED ORIGINAL THROTTLE BODY WITH NEW OEM THROTTLE BOTTLE. SECOND OCCURRENCE ON REPLACEMENT THROTTLE BODY (OEM PART) IN JUNE 2019. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON AN INTERSTATE, WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, PUTTING THE TRUCK IN LIMP MODE AND THE TRUCK STALLED. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE, TURNED THE TRUCK OFF, WAITED SEVERAL MINUTES AND TURNED VEHICLE BACK ON. CLEARED THE FAULT AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVE WITH LOUD KNOCKING SOUND OCCURRING LIKE IN THE FIRST INSTANCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. ALSO, 'LOW FLUID' DISPLAYED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS CAUTIOUSLY DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,767.
LIGHT CAME ON BRAKE FLUID LOW THEN IMMEDIATELY NO BRAKES GOING DOWN THE ROAD. BAD MASTER CYCLINDER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO HAVE A TIRE ROTATION, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE SWOLLEN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CRAIN FORD OF LITTLE ROCK (4601 COLONEL GLENN PLAZA DR, LITTLE ROCK, AR 72210, (501) 436-0341) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER [XXX]. THE LUG NUTS WERE REPLACED BY APPROVAL FROM FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS. HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET, DASH INDICATED "LOW BRAKE FLUID"...OK?. TRAVELED ANOTHER 1/16TH MILE BRAKE PEDDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR, NO BRAKES AND ALL WARNING INDICATORS CAME ON STATING "BRAKES"WITH WARNING SYMBOL.
The back-up camera on my 2016 Ford F150 does not work after the Sun has been shinning on it for a while and it gets hot. At night or when or when the camera is cool it will work. The problem started sometime in 2019. I have not reported it to a Ford Dealer. I have a Co-worker who has a 2016 Ford Mustang with the same problem.
IT'S INEXCUSABLE FOR A CLOCK SPRING TO GO OUT ON A PICKUP THAT HAS LESS THAN 40K ON THE ODOMETER. FORD'S ARE GREAT VEHICLES, BUT THIS LITTLE ELECTRICAL ISSUE, WHICH COMES AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN, WILL COST ME BETWEEN $300.00 TO $400.00. MIND YOU, THIS CLOCK SPRING WENT OUT IN JUNE 2019, AND PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW (I) BROKE SOMETHING WITHIN THE STEERING WHEEL AND BEHIND THE AIR BAG? I DON'T RECALL IF I WAS STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET, OR ON THE HIGHWAY. I DO KNOW ONE DAY I TRIED TO HONK MY HORN AND IT DIDN'T WORK. I TRIED TO RESET MY TRIP ODOMETER ANOTHER DAY AND IT DIDN'T WORK. I TRIED TO SET ME CRUISE CONTROL-NO GO. I TRIED TO CONTROL MY STEREO/HANDS FREE BLUE TOOTH, NOPE. IT TOOK ME DIGGING ON THE NET TO FIND OUT WHAT WOULD CAUSE A HORN AND THE ABOVE MENTIONED ISSUES TO SUDDENLY STOP WORKING, BUT INTERESTINGLY STILL WORKS WITH THE ANTI-THEFT ENGAGED. IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY DRIVING HABITS BY NOT STEERING MY TRUCK, FORD SHOULD HAVE LET ME KNOW. BTW, I HAD A FORD ESCAPE BEFORE THIS TRUCK, AND WHEN TRADING IT IN THE DEALERSHIP DESCRIBED MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AS A CHRISTMAS TREE, BUT WITH ALL THOSE ELECTRICAL ISSUES, I GUESS THE CLOCK SPRING NEVER WENT OUT.

THE PANORAMIC SUN ROOF WILL NOT CLOSE AND IS STUCK IN THE PARTIALLY OPENED POSITION. THE GLASS HAS A PARTIAL CRACK IN IT AND I AM CONCERNED THAT IT WILL SHATTER INJURING ANY PASSENGERS. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 21000 MILES. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A DESIGN DEFECT. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY REFUSED TO TAKE ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION ON THIS PROBLEM. ONE MONTH EARLIER THE ROOF WOULD NOT CLOSE AND I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY PRESSED ON THE GLASS AND FINALLY THE GLASS PANEL RETURNED INTO THE TRACK AND CLOSED.
LEFT MY HOME THIS MORNING AND APPROACHED A STOP SIGN AND ALMOST LOST COMPLETE BRAKING ON MY VEHICLE. BRAKE PEDAL WAS FIRM BUT ALMOST NO STOPPING ABILITY. BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR IS FULL AND BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION.

I BELIEVE IT'S A VACUUM BOOSTER PUMP PROBLEM ON THE FORD 3.5 ECOBOOST MOTOR. 3 DEALERSHIPS FAILED TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER IT'S A COMMON OCCURRENCE TO ME. CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND EVERYTHING WORKED, AT THE NEXT STOP SIGN IT WAS AS IF SOMEONE FLIPPED A SWITCH (RESIDENTIAL AREA WITH MANY INTERSECTIONS). INSPECTED BRAKE SYSTEM AND FLUID LEVEL WAS ABOVE MINIMUM IN THE RESERVOIR AND FOUND NO EXTERNAL LEAKING OF BRAKE FLUID (FAILURE WAS INTERNAL TO THE MASTER CYLINDER). TOWED BACK HOME AND ISOLATED MASTER CYLINDER AND FOUND IT TO BE THE ISSUE. REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKES FUNCTION PROPERLY AGAIN. (WHEN I REMOVED THE MASTER THE BOOSTED STILL HELD VACUUM AND FLUID WAS NOT LEAKING INTO BOOSTER. )
COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. PARKED TRUCK AND BRAKES WORKED NORMALLY. 15 MINUTES LATER STARTED ENGINE AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY. NO LEAKAGE AT WHEEL CYLINDERS OR MASTER CYLINDER. 36,000 MILES. NO PRIOR WARNING OF LOW FLUID UNTIL THE FAILURE HAPPENED. TOWED TO LOCAL FORD DEALER.
STEERING WAS LOCKING UP WHILE DRIVING, TOOK TO DEALER THREE TIMES WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS NO ISSUE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CODES. MY STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY AND CAN NOT STEER. MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH EPAS HAVE BEEN FOUND ONLINE WITH FORD F150S.

FORTUNATELY I HAVE A MECHANICAL BACKGROUND, TURNED OFF IGNITION WAITED A MINUTE AND TRIED TO RESTART THE TRUCK, CRANKED HARDER THAN NORMAL, ENGINE SERVICE LITE WAS ON, TURNED OFF ADVANCE TRACK AND WENT A FEW MILES AND HAPPENED AGAIN. WENT THROUGH SAME STEPS AND RESTARTED VEHICLE, WAS ABLE TO DRIVE 10 MILES TO HOME. WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK THIS MORNING THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT WAS OFF, WENT A FEW MILES AND SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS IS A DEFINITE SERIOUS ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. IF YOU ARE ON AN INTERSTATE GO 70 MPH IN TRAFFIC AND THIS WOULD HAPPEN MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. PULLED IN FLUID WAS GONE. FOUND THAT THE FLUID WAS LEAKING INTO THE BOOSTER CYLINDER. HAVE TO REPLACE THE MASTER AND BOOSTER CYLINDER. THIS APPEARS TO BE AN OPEN INVESTIGATION AND IT NEEDS TO BE ELEVATED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT EASILY.

THE SCREEN GOES BLACK AND I AM UNABLE TO ADJUST THE CLIMATE OR USE THE RADIO. ALL FUNCTIONS ARE DISABLED. THE SCREEN GET STUCK WITH THE BACKUP CAMERA ON AND ALL OF THE CONTROLS ARE DISABLED, INCLUDING THE CLIMATE CONTROL. THE SCREEN IS UNRESPONSIVE TO THE TOUCH AND THE CLIMATE CONTROL, RADIO AND ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS DO NOT WORK. THE NAVIGATION GETS STUCK ON THE SCREEN AND THE LOCATION IS INACCURATE AND YOU CANNOT MAKE OTHER CHANGES, INCLUDING TO THE CLIMATE CONTROL. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY AS THE SYNC 3 SYSTEM DOES NOT FUNCTION EITHER WAY. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE BUT I HAD TO ENTER A SINGLE DATE IN THE SYSTEM. I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS BUT THEIR RESPONSE WAS "DID YOU GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY?".
THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE STEEL WHEEL FRACTURED AND SEPARATED WHILE DRIVING ON A BLACK TOP ROADWAY. THE PART THAT SEPARATED AND CAME OFF WAS LOCATED. THERE APPEARED TO BE NO DAMAGE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE FRACTURE. THIS IS A LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE.
ON 05/11/19 WHILE DRIVING I EXPERIENCED NEARLY COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE DUE TO THE MASTER CYLINDER RUPTURING. SEQUENTIALLY THE LEAKING BRAKE FLUID DRAINED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER WHICH ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. AS THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT WAS QUITE MIRACULOUS NO ONE WAS INJURED.
WHILE DRIVING I RECIEVED A BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW WARNING LIGHT. PROCEDED CAUTIOUSLY TO WORK APPROXIMATELY A MILE AWAY WITHOUT ANY ISSUE. LOOKED AT THE RESERVOIR AND FOUND IT TO BE NEARLY EMPTY. AFTER THE TRUCK SAT I WENT TO LEAVE WORK HOPING TO MAKE IT TO A PARTS STORE TO GET BRAKE FLUID. GOT IN TO START IT AND THE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE. HITCHED A RIDE TO GET FLUID AND TOPPED IT OFF. I GOT BACK IN AND HEADED DOWN THE ROAD MAKING IT NO MORE THAN A MILE BEFORE I COMPLETELY LOST MY BRAKES. AFTER SERVICE THIS WAS APPARENTLY CAUSED BY A FAULTY SEAL IN THE MASTER CYLINDER PUMPING ALL THE BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BOOSTER. A PROBLEM FORD HAS HAD WITH PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS AND RECALLED. THIS TYPE OF FAILURE LEAVES NO EVIDENCE OF A LEAK. THIS WAS A SUDDEN AND COMPLETE LOSS OF THE ABILITY TO STOP MY VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR THE PARKING BREAK. DANGEROUS TO SAY THE LEAST.

WIPERS WILL NOT SHUT OFF AFTER WIPER SWITCH IS TURNED TO OFF. THE WIPERS CONTINUE TO WIPE AT A LOW INTERMITTENT SPEED.
The back-up camera seems to only work in cold weather. This has been an on-going problem since 2019. This creates a safety issue when backing up as you cannot see directly behind the truck. The back-up camera seems to be a problem in other Ford models.
