STEERING STARTED TO GET TIGHT WHILE TURNING, THIS WOULD ONLY HAPPEN PERIODICALLY. THEN WHILE I WAS EXITING A FREEWAY WHILE PULLING A TRAILER I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND ALMOST WRECKED, THE ADVANCETRAC SERVICE LIGHT AND THE ELECTRONIC STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A SERVICE CENTER TO FIND OUT THE FRONT RACK ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, TRUCK IS 2 1/2 YEARS OLD AND HAS 77,000 MILES.
WAS PARKING MY TRAILER AND HAD UNHOOKED IT GO IN TO MOVE IT FORWARD SO I COULD PUT MY TRAILER LOCK ON LEFT THE DOOR OPEN LIKE I HAVE DONE COUNTLESS TIMES PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND GOT OUT STARTED TO WALK BACK WHEN THE ENGINE ACCELERATED AND THE TRUCK STARTED TO MOVE BACKWARDS TURNED TO JUMP IN TO HIT THE BREAK WHEN THE DOOR KNOCKED ME DOWN THE FRONT TIRE HIT MY KNEE AND LEG AND THE DOOR CAUGHT A POST RIPPING IT FORWARD
TOOK TRUCK FOR REGULAR SERVICE AND ADVISED THAT THEY COULD NOT ROTATE TIRES. LUG NUTS ARE OF A FLAWED DESIGN THAT SWELL DUE TO HEAT, MOISTURE ETC. DEALER MENTIONED THAT I SHOULD BUY REPLACEMENTS FROM AN AUTO STORE AS FORD IS STILL SELLING THE SAME DEFECTIVE LUG NUTS. ISSUE IS SO COMMON THAT SERVICE DEPT SAID FORD ACTUALLY ENGINEERED AND SENT A SPECIALIZED TOOL TO DEALERS TO REMOVE THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS. ADVISED THAT IN THE EVENT OF A FLAT TIRE, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE DUE TO LUG NUTS SWELLING AND TOOL NOT FITTING. NOT ONLY ARE CUSTOMERS ON THE HOOK FOR $200+, BUT ALSO POSSIBLE TOWING FEES FOR A NON-MECHANICAL, ROUTINE ISSUE.
THIRD BRAKE LIGHT STARTED LEAKING WATER INTO CAB WHICH RAN DOWN UNDER CARPET ON DRIVER SIDE CAUSING MOLD AND MILDEW INSIDE CAB WHICH IS A VERY BAD HEALTH RISK FOR PEOPLE I CANT EVEN DRIVE IT BECAUSE OF THE MOLD SMELL HAVE TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE CARPET
TAILGATE OPENS BY ITSELF. HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT LEAST ONCE (THAT I KNOW OF BECAUSE I HAVE A BED CAP ON THAT HAS HELD IT IN PLACE). THE ONE TIME I NOTICED IT I WAS TOWING A TRAILER AND WAS FORTUNATE THAT THE TAILGATE DID NOT GET WEDGED BETWEEN THE TRAILER JACK ON A TURN. I HAVE NOW NOTICED THAT THE TAILGATE WILL OPEN AND THE LATCH MECHANISM WILL CONTINUE TO FIRE EVEN AFTER THE TAILGATE IS DOWN,
REAR DEFOGGER ON SLIDING REAR WINDOW HAS BECOME COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED. POOR DESIGN. WHEN AUTOMATICALLY OPENING SLIDING REAR WINDOW, THE DEFOGGER MECHANISM GETS CAUGHT ON REAR SEAT EVENTUALLY, THIS LEAD TO THE REAR DEFOGGER DISCONNECTING AND BREAKING OFF FROM HIS HOUSING.
DRIVING OUT MY DRIVE WAY MY STEERING FROZE UP ON ME.
THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT ON IT'S ON. THE PASSENGER HAS TO PUT THE SEAT BELT ON AND THEN MANUALLY PUSH THE SEAT BELT IN AND THEN LEAN FORWARD FOR IT TO LOCK IN PLACE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY
THE DOORS (ESPECIALLY FRONT DRIVER SIDE) OFTEN DO NOT LATCH SHUT WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING. THE LATCH MECHANISM APPEARS TO BE FREEZING. IF ONE DOESN'T REALIZE THE DOOR IS NOT FULLY LATCHED, IT MAY SWING OPEN WHILE ON THE ROAD. I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR WITH ONE HAND IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE DOOR FROM SWINGING OPEN. I WILL BE BRINGING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER FOR THE 18N03 RECALL DESPITE THE FACT THAT MANY OTHER F150 OWNERS STATE THAT THIS DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM IN MANY CASES.
I GOT UP STARTED MT TRUCK DROVE TO WORK AS NORMAL. GOT INTO MY TRUCK AFTER WORK STARTED IT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE TRUCK WAS DIGGING MULTIPLE TIMES. THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN PRESSED WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I GOT OUT POPPED THE HOOD AND LOOKED THERES FLUID IN THE BRAKE RESERVOIR. I LOOKED ON THE GROUND AND ON THE MOTOR FOR LEAKAGE AND THERES NOTHING ANYWHERE.
BRAKES FAILED AND IT IS RELATED TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER. HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH AT A COST OF $1500. MY UNDERSTANDING IS FORD IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM.
I WENT TO DRIVE INTO MY GARAGE AND PUSHED THE BRAKE TO STOP AND THE PEDDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR. I PUSHED AS HARD AS I COULD AND IT FINALLY STOPPED JUST BEFORE I HIT THE BACK OF THE GARAGE. IT ALSO HAPPENED THEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE. SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ON THE ROAD IN TRAFFIC. I WAS GOING SLOW AT THE TIME. SOMETIMES THE BRAKE WILL BE VERY STIFF TO PUSH ALSO. THE PEDDLE WILL BARELY DEPRESS. LIKE THERE IS NO POWER BRAKES. NO WARNING LIGHTS COME ON IN ANY OF THESE SITUATIONS. THERE IS NO WARNING AT ALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
I WAS SITTING IN MY TRUCK I HAD STARTED IT TURNED HEAT ON AS IT WAS 40 DEGREES OUT. WAS REPLYING TO A TEXT MESSAGE SO WE HADN'T EVEN MOVED WHEN NOT 5MIN AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE I HEAR A LOUD BANG AND SMELT ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL AND THANKFULLY THE WINDOWS DIDN'T COMPLETELY SHATTER AND FALL OUT ON MY CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT, BUT BOTH PANELS ON EACH SIDE OF THE SLIDING WINDOW WERE COMPLETELY CRACKED AND SHATTERING.
61,881 MILES, NUMEROUS ADVANCETRAC, HILL DESCENT, ETC. WARNING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. STALL SUDDENLY IN MIDDLE LANE OF TRAFFIC AT SPEED OF 40 MPH. ALMOST CAUSED REAR END COLLISION. LOSS OF ALL POWER, BARELY ABLE TO DRIFT TO SHOULDER. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! RESEARCH HAS REVEALED THIS IS PATTERN PROBLEM IN THIS MODEL AND PREVIOUS VERSIONS.
GAS TANK FUEL PUMP AND FUEL PUMP DRIVER WENT BAD AT 56,000 MILES. WOULD START WHEN CRANKING THEN IDLE ROUGH FOR A FEW SECONDS AND SHUT OFF
ON 3/12/19, THIS VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A FEDERAL HIGHWAY WITH A DRIVER, AND (1) PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. EARLIER IN THE DAY, SAID VEHICLE WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALL FIX. THE RECALL WAS TO FIX THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR LOCKING MECHANISMS FROM OPENING PREMATURELY. WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CAME OPEN AND WOULD NOT LATCH ANY FURTHER. DURING THE INITIAL REPAIR PROCESS THERE WERE CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES WITH DEALERSHIP STAFF; AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT THEIR RESPONSE WAS, "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET." DUE TO INCIDENTS AT THE DEALERSHIP IT IS BELIEVED THE REPAIR WAS NOT COMPLETED CORRECTLY ON PURPOSE RISKING LIVES OF THOSE IN THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE BASS FORD (440-934-3673, LOCATED AT 5050 DETROIT RD, SHEFFIELD, OH 44035) FOR BRAKE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT WERE NOT PROPERLY REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT PROVIDE SPECIFICS ABOUT THE FAILURE HE EXPERIENCED. THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING ELSE COULD BE DONE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,000.
ON MARCH 5, 2019, THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITHOUT IMPACT. THE CONDITION WAS NOTICED SHORTLY AFTER BEGINNING DRIVING. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 45 DEGREES.
WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF! CAN BE DRIVING OR SITTING STILL.
WHEN FIRST TURN THE TRUCK ON AND IT'S COLD, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP OUT OF FIRST GEAR INTO THIRD AND THEN INTO FIFTH. WHEN YOU STOP, THE TRANSMISSION SLAMS BACK INTO FIRST GEAR AND JERKS UNTIL IT GETS INTO SECOND GEAR. ONLY DOES WHEN THE TEUCK IS COLD TYPICALLY. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES TO GET REPAIRED FOR THIS ISSUE. I'M TOLD THAT IT'S A PROGRAMMING ISSUE EACH TIME. AFTER THE PROGRAMMING IS RESET, THE TRANSMISSION WILL FUNCTION CORRECTLY FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN THE ISSUE WILL START HAPPENING AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, WATER LEAKED FROM THE PANORAMIC SUN ROOF INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MACE FORD (4501 S US HWY 41, TERRE HAUTE, IN) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PLASTIC TRACKS USED TO SECURE THE SUN ROOF HAD FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
IN TANK FUEL PUMP WENT OUT AT 60,000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. THE WITHOUT WARNING, THERE WAS A LOUD BOOM SOUND AND THE REAR GLASS SHATTERED. THE HEATER WAS ACTIVATED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
REAR DOOR LATCHES WILL NOT OPEN WHEN IT'S VERY COLD OUTSIDE. HAVE HAD TWO RECALL SERVICES TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT IT PERSISTS.
2016 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW HAS ONGOING ISSUES WITH BOTH THE DOOR LATCHES NOT RE LATCHING OR RELEASING AND THE DOOR LOCKS NOT LOCKING OR UNLOCKING WHEN IN FREEZING CONDITIONS (4 DOORS AND ALL 4 HAVE DIFFERENT VARIATIONS OF THIS PROBLEM). ALL APPLICABLE RECALLS AND UPDATED RECALLS FROM FORD HAVE BEEN PERFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP YET THE PROBLEM CONTINUES.
MY DRIVER DOOR WON'T LATCH. SOMETIMES IT WON'T OPEN. OTHER TIMES IT WON'T LATCH.
HAD DOOR LATCH FREEZING TSB AND RECALL BOTH PERFORMED BY DEALER. ON FEB 8, 2019, DRIVERS DOOR ONCE AGAIN WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT DUE TO FREEZING OF THE LATCH. AFTER LETTING TRUCK IDLE WITH FULL HEAT ON FOR A WHILE, IT APPEARED TO HAVE THAWED ENOUGH TO LATCH. IT FLEW OPEN ON THE FIRST TURN I MADE. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET KILLED IF THIS PROBLEM ISN'T FIXED.
ELECTRIC TAILGATE DROPS OPEN WITHOUT BEING TRIGGERED AND WILL NOT CLOSE AND STAY CLOSED AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS. FINALLY WILL REMAIN CLOSED BUT MAY REPEAT PROCESS. STARTED IN DEC 2017 AND HAS CONTINUED UNTIL THE PRESENT DAY. RETURNED IT TO A FORD DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. NOW TAILGATE WILL NOT OPEN WHEN THE BUTTON ON THE TAILGATE IS PUSHED. YOU CAN OPEN TAILGATE WITH REMOTE FOB ONLY. TAILGATE OPENING USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN PARKED AND STATIONARY BUT HAS HAPPENED ONCE WHEN I WAS TRANSPORTING MY TRAVEL TRAILER ON THE HIGHWAY. LAST HAPPENED IN FEBRUARY 2019.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the transmission erroneously downshifted from sixth gear to third gear causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate, nearly causing a semi-truck to crash into the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions, but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 79,554.
THE BACK WINDSHIELD SHATTERED AFTER GETTING INTO TRUCK. TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 60 DEGREES IN THE EVENING WITH VERY LITTLE SUN LIGHT. THERE WERE NO FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND NEAR BACK WINDSHIELD OR INSIDE TRUCK.
SOME OF THE DOOR LOCKS KEEP FREEZING IN COLD WET WEATHER. ONCE I GET THE DOORS OPEN THEY CANNOT LOCK PROPERLY. THE DOOR WILL FLY OPEN WHILE UNDERWAY DUE TO THE FROZEN LOCKS. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS.
STARTING AT 30,000 MILES THE TRUCK HAD A ROUGH IDLE AT A STOPLIGHT OR STOP SIGN IN GEAR, AND THEN AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS I WOULD SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE AND IT SHUT DOWN. NOW SOMETIMES WHEN I COME UP TO A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT IT SHUTS OFF I WAS EVEN AT AN INTERSECTION AND IT SHUT OFF THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND FORD NEEDS TO FIX IT NOW. NO CODE POPS UP AND FORD CANNOT RE-CREATE IT OR FIX IT
FAILURE OF INTEGRATED WHEEL ENDS (IWE) ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS DUE TO SEAL FAILURES AND LOSS OF VACUUM. SYMPTOMS: GRINDING OR GROANING AT LOW SPEEDS WITH OR WITHOUT BRAKES APPLIED. VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL. DEALERSHIPS WILL INITIALLY DENY PROBLEM AND BLMAE THE BRAKES (I.E. DRAGGING CALIPER). MY TRUCK WAS INSPECTED BY 3 SHOPS TO RULE OUT THE BRAKES AND I STILL RECEIVED A SIMILAR COMMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP. 1/30/19: DEALERSHIP FINALLY CONFIRMED ISSUE AND REPLACED BOTH IWES AT 35090 MILES. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH FORD FOR MANY YEARS BASED UPON THE VAST NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON TRUCK FORUMS. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF IWE FAILURES. THE PROBLEM IS SO FREQUENT THAT THE FIRST RECOMMENDATION FROM MOST DEALERSHIPS IS TO REPLACE THE VACUUM SOLENOID OR INLINE CHECK VALVE. IN MY CASE, THE REPLACEMNT PARTS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM
HAVE GONE THROUGH 2 RECALL FIXES AND PROBLEM REMAINS: DOORS CAN BE OPENED BUT WILL NOT LATCH IN COLD WEATHER. IF DRIVING IS A NECESSITY, YOU DRIVE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED OR WITH BUNGIE CORDS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE LATCHES ARE NOT LATCHING AND FORD HAS YET TO BE ABLE TO FIX THIS
DURING LOW TEMPERATURES THE DOOR LATCH DOES NOT ENGAGE, LEAVING THE DOOR FREE TO SWING.
FREEZING DOOR LATCHES CAUSING THE DOOR NOT TO STAY SHUT IN COLD TEMPERATURES OR OPEN THE DOOR CAN FLY OPEN BECAUSE YOU THINK THAT IT IS SHUT WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE DOOR LOSING PERSONAL BELONGINGS AND IF A OCCUPANT IS NOT SEATBELTED FLYING OUT OF THE VEHICLE THE DOORS ON THESE TRUCKS WILL NOT LATCH WHEN YOU SHUT THE DOOR THEY BOUNCE BACK OPEN AND THEN SOMETIMES YOU THINK THEIR LATCHED AND THEY'RE NOT THEN TAKING A TURN AND THE DOOR SWINGS OPEN FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM THEY HAVE PUT OUT TSB'S AND FSA IN ORDER TO TRY TO REPAIR IT WITH NO SUCCESS I PERSONALLY HAVE HAD MY TRUCK IN THE SHOP FOR THIS ISSUE 5 TO 6 TIMES WITH NO FIX THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARES MY KIDS THAT ARE INSIDE THE BACK OF MY TRUCK WHEN THEIR DOOR FLYING OPEN OR WHEN THEY HAVE TO HOLD IT SHUT WHILE WE'RE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD TO SCHOOL
MY 2016 FORD F150 SUPERCREW IS CURRENTLY UNDER A FORD RECALL FOR THE REAR DOORS FREEZING AND NOT LATCHING BACK CLOSED. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THE FORD OFFICIAL REPAIRS WERE DONE AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. MY DOORS ARE CURRENTLY RATCHET STRAPPED CLOSED AND FORD WILL NOT GIVE ME A VEHICLE AND TAKE THE TRUCK BACK TO DO THE REPAIRS (AGAIN FOR THE 3RD TIME). THE ISSUE WAS UNDER A NHTSA RECALL AND THEIR ACTIONS HAVE STILL NOT RESOLVED THE ISSUE. THE ADVISOR AT THE DEALER SAID THERE IS NOW A NEW "LATEST AND GREATEST" REPAIR FOR THE ISSUE BUT THEY HAVE HAD ~40% OF THE VEHICLES RETURN AFTER THAT AS WELL.
UNDER 15 DEGREES DOOR LATCHES WILL NOT LATCH AND IF YOU GET THE DOOR TO LATCH AND DOORS ARE LOCKED WILL NOT UNLOCK TO BE ABLE TO OPEN DOORS CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD IF EMERGENCY OCCURS
BACK/REAR WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND UN OCCUPIED WHILE PARKED ON A CITY STREET. LAW ENFORCEMENT INITIALLY RESPONDED TO INVESTIGATE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. HOWEVER, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WINDOW WAS NOT BROKE BY AN INDIVIDUAL OR BY A PHYSICAL OBJECT. REVIEW OF SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS VERIFIED THAT NO ONE BROKE THE WINDOW AND THAT THE WINDOW BROKE ON ITS OWN.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK IS FROZEN IN THE OPEN POSITION. AIR TEMPERATURE DIPPED TO AROUND 0 DEGREES OVERNIGHT. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS FOR OTHER 2016 FORD F150'S WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL AT THE PRESENT TIME.
DRIVER DOOR AND PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT SHUT WHEN IT HAS BEEN LEFT IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES. ON COLD MORNINGS WHEN I OPEN THE DRIVER SODE DOOR TO START THE TRUCK AND TRY TO CLOSE THE DOOR, IT WON'T LATCH
EPAS SYSTEM EXHIBITS WANDER ON CENTER WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN HIGHWAY MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL AND KEEP IN LANE. THIS HAPPENS WITH LKAS OFF OR ON. STEERING WHEEL HAS A CLUNK AND EXCESSIVE PLAY BETWEEN L & R INPUTS. EXPERIENCE IS SYMPTOMATIC OF A WORN MECHANICAL STEERING RACK. FORD DEALER CLAIMS IT IS NORMAL, BUT MY TRUCK DOES NOT DRIVE LIKE OTHER VEHICLES.
WHILE DRIVING THE INTERIOR INSTRUMENT LIGHTS SUDDENLY COME ON PARK BRAKE, 4X4, AIR BAG, TRACTION,ABS, ADVANCE TRAC, AND STEERING ASSIST. DURING THIS PROCESS THE BRAKES ENGAGE & THEN YOU CAN HEAR THE SCRUBBING SOUND OF THE BRAKES.THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I'VE RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES, AFTER A MONTH OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTING & ROAD TESTING THE STEERING SYSTEM FAILED ON THE SERVICEMAN WHILE DRIVING IT. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WANT TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO ME WITHOUT MAKING ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE IT HAS NOT RE INITIATED THIS PROCESS IN THE LAST 3 DAYS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME AND ANY OTHER VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. FORD HAS INFORMED ME THAT IF THE STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING CALL ROADSIDE TO BRING IT BACK. TOTAL DISREGARD FOR MY SAFETY AND OR ANYONE ELSE. THIS EVENT OCCURS WHILE DRIVING, IT ALSO SHOWS THESE READINGS UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED UNDER 30,000 MILES AND OVER THAT THRESHOLD. IT HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS.
I HAVE A 2016 F150 LARIAT SUPER CAB YOU HAD A RECALL ON THE F150 DOORS AND I HAD THE RECALL DONE IT ONLY COVERS THE DOOR LATCHES BUT THE RECALL DOESN'T COVER THE REAR DOOR LOCKING PINS. WHEN ITS COLD OUTSIDE I OPEN THE REAR HALF DOOR AND CLOSE IT AND THE BOTTOM BOLT DOESN'T COME DOWN AND LOCK THE REAR BOTTOM HALF OF THE DOOR ONLY THE TOP HALF IS SECURED. I HAVE TO HAVE THE HEAT CRANKED ON HIGH TO WARM THE INSIDE OF THE CAB SO THE BOTTOM LOCKING BOLT WILL COME DOWN AND PROPERLY SECURE THE DOOR ON THE BOTTOM. IF THE TOP LOCKING BOLT FAILS THE ONLY THING KEEPING THE DOOR CLOSED IS THE SEAT BELT IM WEARING SINCE IT IS MOUNTED IN THE REAR HALF DOOR AND IS LATCHED ACROSS ME WHY IS THIS LOCKING BOLT NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL ARE YOU WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO FALL OUT OF THE CAR AND GET HURT BEFORE YOU RECALL THIS ALSO. MY OLD F150 NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IT WAS A SUPER CAB ALSO I CALLED YOUR CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME ITS NOT COVERED ALL I WANT IS MY 2016 FORD F150 TO BE SAFE I LOVE THIS TRUCK I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME
1/30/17 FRONT DOORS NOT LATCHING, RECALL COMPLETED. 11/19/18 DOORS AGAIN NOT LATCHING INCLUDING THE REAR DOORS NOW, RECALL COMPLETED 1/9/19 DOOR AGING NOT LATCHING. ENROUTE TO DROP OFF VEHICLE AT DEALERSHIP THE DOOR FLEW OPEN WHILE TAKING A CURVE IN THE ROADWAY. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS IN PASSENGER SEAT SUCH AS MY CHILDREN OR DOG. RECALL COMPLETED AND TOLD ALL PROBLEMS FIXED. 1/19/19 OUT OF TOWN WITH VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO GET THE DOOR TO SHUT FOR OVER 2 HOURS. UNABLE TO MAKE THE 1 HOUR DRIVE HOME UNTIL DOOR WOULD LATCH. 1/21/19 TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TO AGAIN, FOR THE 4TH TIME, HAVE THE DOORS LOOKED AT AGAIN. I HAVE NO SENSE OF SAFETY DRIVING MY VEHICLE AS I FEAR I WON'T BE ABLE TO SHUT DOOR OR THE DOOR WILL FLY OPEN. VERY SAD AFTER TAKING VEHICLE IN 4 TIMES AND EACH TIME TOLD THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. IS IT REALLY FIXED??
VAGUE STEERING ON CENTER. LACK OF CONTROL IN FIRST FEW DEGREES OF STEERING WHEEL MOVEMENT FOLLOWED BY OVERCORRECTION THERE AFTER. CLUNKING FROM STEERING RACK. VEHICLE WANDERS ON STRAIGHTAWAYS MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
WHEN COLD THE VEHICLE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH OR STAY CLOSED. SEEMS TO WORK WHEN MILD OR WARM. THE DOOR IS IN PERFECT ORIGINAL CONDITION - NO ACCIDENTS, ETC. WHILE SO FAR I CAN EVENTUALLY GET THE LATCH TO CATCH IT SEEMS THE DOOR LATCH CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO CLOSE AND STAY CLOSED SAFELY PROTECT THE OCCUPANTS.
IT IDLES ROUGH AT STOP LIGHT SOMETIMES SHUTS DOWN ,RADIO SCREEN IS BLANK SOMETIMES W RADIO OR PHONE CALL. ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL ENOUGH TO MAKE ME NAUSEOUS. THE COMPUTER READS NO CODES. THIS HAPPENS EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS, IT HAS BEEN AT 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS UP TO WEEKS AT A TIME THEY HAVE CHANGED SEVERAL PARTS BUT NONE HAVE FIXED IT.
DOORS DO NO OPEN, FREEZE SHUT IN COLD WEATHER OR DOORS WILL NOT LATCH/LOCK IF THEY OPEN AT ALL. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH FORD AND HAD BEEN UNSUCCESSFULLY ADDRESSED IN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBS) ISSUED BY FORD. THERE NEEDS TO BE A PERMANENT SOLUTION. ALSO THE WINDSHIELD WASHER SPRAYER FREEZES REGULARLY. THIS IS ALSO A KNOW ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. IT IS DANGEROUS TO OPERATE A VEHICLE WHEN THE WINDSHIELD CANNOT BE CLEARED OF ROAD SPRAY, OBSCURING VISION,
I am writing because I had the 3 recalls on my vehicle repaired 3 years ago but the dealership apparently may not have completed these because I just received a letter from Ford stating a quality audit discovered it may not have been done. Your website states they are incomplete which is beyond frustrating. I had to go through a lot just to get the dealership to work with me to give me a loaner car in order to get them done. Now I may have been driving around for 3 years in a vehicle I thought was fixed which could still injure me.
