2016 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO FAULTY THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY AND FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS. *AS *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO PULL LEFT AND RIGHT ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS AGO AND WAS BECOMING WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,564.
THE DOOR LATCHING MECHANISM FAILS TO ENGAGE AND THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY CLOSED, POSING A SAFETY RISK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER SOME OBJECTS WERE ABLE TO ENTRY THE MECHANISM VIA THE DOOR HANDLE AND STOP THE LATCH FROM ENGAGING.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR INTERSTATE I94 WHILE CHANGING LANES MY 2016 F150 3.5 ECOBOOST ENTERED LIMP MODE IN FRONT OF A SEMI I JUST RECENTLY PASSED. THE SEMI HAD TO SLAM ON HIS BRAKES AND I HAD TO SWERVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND WRENCH/SERVICE LIGHT WAS LIT UP ON THE DASH. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE TRUCK RAN BUT WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED THE ENGINE SPUTTERED AND WOULDNT MOVE.
FROZEN DOOR LATCHES. DOORS FROZE SHUT IN 2017, AFTER OPENING, THE DRIVER'S DOOR APPEARED TO CLOSE, BUT FLEW OPEN ROUNDING A CORNER IN AN INTERSECTION. A SIMILAR ISSUE OCCURRED WITH THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. JAN 24, 2018: WARRANTY SERVICE FOR A SIMILAR CONCERN, DOORS FROZEN SHUT OR AFTER OPENING WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSED (STATIONARY AND WHILE MOVING). TSB 16-0020 COMPLETED. FEB 2018: INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH DOORS FAILING TO FULLY LATCH SHUT IN FREEZING WEATHER. THE DOOR WOULD OPEN APPROXIMATELY 1/2" WITH THE LOCK ENGAGED AND DOOR SHUT. DEC 22, 2018: WARRANTY SERVICE: PERFORMED CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RECALL 18NO3 TWO ADDITIONAL SERVICE VISITS REQUIRED BECAUSE THE LATCH MECHANISM WAS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. PRIOR TO THE THIRD VISIT, THE DRIVER'S DOOR FLEW OPEN ROUNDING A CORNER WHILE DRIVING. AFTER THIRD VISIT IN EARLY JAN 2019, WE EXPERIENCE FREEZING TEMPERATURES (20S) FOR SEVERAL DAYS. THE TWO REAR DOORS (CREW CAB PICKUP) WOULD NOT UNLOCK USING THE KEY FOB; HOWEVER, THE FRONT DOORS OPERATED NORMALLY. THE DOORS REMAINED IN THAT CONDITION (LOCKED AND SHUT) FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE IT WARMED UP ENOUGH FOR THE DOOR LOCK TO CYCLE. AFTER OPENING REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND SHUTTING IT WHILE STATIONARY, I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE LOCKED. THE DOOR PARTIALLY OPENED 1/2" WITH THE LOCK ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED FOR ANOTHER SERVICE VISIT ON FEB 13, 2019.
I WAS TOLD BY THE SALES PERSON, (XXXXX), THAT THE TRUCK IS UNDER A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, AND A FORD COMPANY WARRANTY THAT INCLUDES EVEN THE LIGHT BULB. AFTER JUST FEW DAYS OF DRIVING, I NOTICED SOME VIBRATION OF THE TRUCK, BAD OIL BURNING IN THE CABINE,GRIDING OF THE WHEELS WHEN I HAVE TO TAKE SHARP CORNERS AND MANY MORE ISSUES. CALLED THE COVINGTON FORD DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEMS/ISSUES I HAVE WITH THE TRUCK. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER TO HAVE IT INSPECTED. DID THAT. CALLED COVINGTON FORD AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT OVER TO THEYR DEALER AND THEY WILL CHECKED AND FIX IT. LEFT THE TRUCK FOR OVER A WEEK WITH THEM I CALLED TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MY TRUCK. I WAS TOLD THEY FIXED EVERYTHING.NOW THE VIBRATION IS GETTING WORSE. CALLED AGAIN COVINGTON FORD WITH SAME PROBLEMS. I TOLD THEM I'LL GO ON A HUNGER STRIKE IN FRONT OF THEIR DEALER AND FORD COMPANY MAIN OFFICE. AND I WILL IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED. THE OWNER OF COVINGTON FORD CONTACTED ME BY PHONE, AND LEFT ME A MESAGE THAT THY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE TRUCK OR GET ME ANOTHER TRUCK. DROVE AGAIN TO THEIR DEALER ON A SATURDAY MORNING. THE SALES PERSON, (XXXXX) , TOOK A TEST DRIVE AND HE SAID THAT YES, THERE ARE TO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK, SO, I'M GONNA GET ANOTHER ONE. AFTER OVER 3 HOURS OF BACK AND FORTH WITH THE OWNER AND GENERAL MANAGER, THEY OFFER ME A OLDER MODEL,2015, AND LOWER XL MODEL. NOW I HAVE F150 2016XLT. DID NOT ACCEPTED, SO THEY TOLD ME TO HIT THE ROAD. AS I SAID, I'M GONNA GO ON A DAY HUNGER STRIKE, CALL ALL THE MEDIA OUTLETS. EVEN I'LL PUT IT ON FACE BOOK. COVINGTON FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSABLE AND INSPECT THE CARS BEFORE THEY OFFER IT FOR SALE. I HOPE THAT YOU WILL HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I'LL GO ON A HUNGER STRIKE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING LOW SPEEDS, THE ENGINE SHUDDERED AND THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLEVELAND FORD (2496 S. LEE HWY, CLEVELAND, TN), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED TRUCK ALSO HAS NUMEROUS SIGNAL LOSSES ON TAC SATELLITE RADIO SIGNAL. CONSUMER TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM.*JB
BACK IN NOVEMBER 2018 I HAD MY FIRST FAULT. MY BRAKE FLUID LOW SENSOR CAME ON. IT WAS INTERMITTENT AT FOR ABOUT 10 MILES AND THAN WENT AWAY. DID NOT ANOTHER ISSUE UNTIL MID DECEMBER. THE LIGHT CAM BACK ON AND OVER THE COURSE OF THE DAY, IT DID NOT GO OFF. I THEN DISCONNECTED THE THE SENSOR SO THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE DINGING ALL THE TIME. I ALSO MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY CHECKED THE CODES AND FOUND NOTHING. KEPT IT FOR TWOS AND RETURNED IT SAYING THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM AND TO BRING IT BACK WHEN THE PROBLEM COME BACK. YESTERDAY, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON INTERMITTENT AND I GOT SOME VIDEO OF IT THIS TIME. IT ONLY ACTED UP FOR A SHORT TIME BEFORE GOING AWAY AGAIN. THIS MORNING I WENT TO USE THE TRUCK AND AND USED THE REMOTE START TO START IT. IT RAN FOR ABOUT 5 MINS OR SO AND I GOT IN AND TURNED THE KEY ON AND PUT IT ON REVERSE. THEN ALL [XXX] BROKE LOSE. HAD ALL KINDS OF ERRORS COME ON. HAD PARKING BRAKE NOT RELEASED, SERVICE ENGINE, CHECK SERVICE MANUAL, DIM LIGHTS, BRAKE FLUID LOW, PARKING BRAKE ON. THE GAS PEDAL DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK. AN UNSAFE, ROAD HAZARD, A BOOBY TRAP F150 TRUCK. THIS IS WHAT I GOT FROM A FORD DEALER IN COVINGTON. AN UNSAFE TRUCK.WHOSE FAULT THAT THE TRUCK IS ON THE ROADS? WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT. FORD COMP. OR THE DEALER? WE ARE AN OLDER, SENIORS, MINORITY COUPLE JUST TRYING TO BUY OUR FIRST F150 TRUCK. ON DEC. 31ST 2018, BOUGHT A 2016 F150 FORD TRUCK FROM THIS DEALER. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS TRUCK IS COVERED BY A SPECIAL FORD COMP. TAKE BACK THE TRUCK. I HAVE HIS MESSAGE ON MY VOICE MAIL. THEY WILL TRY TO FIX IT FULL WARRANTY BEING A BUY BACK TRUCK,INCLUDING EVEN THE LIGHT BULBS, ON TOP OF THE REGULAR WARRANTY. . SAID THAT VIBRATION CAME FROM THE WHEELS NO, CALLED THEM AGAIN, SENT THEM FEW EMAILS. I TOLD THEM THAT I WILL GO ON A HUNGER STRIKE IN FRONT OF THEIR DEALER. FINALLY, THE OWNER,MATH, CALLED ME TO OR THEY WILL GIVE ME ANOTHER TRUCK. THEY KNEW THAT THE TRUCK IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE STREETS. IT'S ROAD HAZARD. AND NOT TALKING ABOUT THE SMOKE INSIDE THE CABIN. YOU CAN DIE OF SUFFOCATION. DROVE ANOTHER OUR OR SO TO THEIR DEALER. HAD ERDDYN, THE SELLER GUY TO DRIVE TEST THE TRUCK. AFTER FEW MINUTES OF DRIVE, WE NOTICED THE VIBRATION. HE SAID IS NORMAL. THEN IT STARTED TO VIBRATE EVEN WORST. I ASKED HIM ABOUT THE STRONG SMOKE SMELL. DID NOT SAY ANYTHING. GOT BACK TO THE DEALER, INSPECTED THE TRUCK.THE TRUCK WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. AFTER 2 HOURS OF TALK WITH THE OWNER, THEY OFFER ME GET ME ANOTHER TRUCK. OLDER YEAR MODEL, INFERIOR CLASS. DID NOT ACCEPTED, SO, THEY SAID HIT THE ROAD. AND LEFT AFTER WASTING OVER 3 HOURS. SO, HERE I AM WITH A VERY UNSAFE TRUCK DRIVING ON THE ROADS. SOONER OR LATER AN ACCIDENT IS GONNA HAPPEN, OR ME DYING OF SUFFOCATION IN THE CABIN. NO. I'M GONNA PROTEST IN FRONT OF THEIR DEALER , AND THEN I'M GONNA DO THE SAME IN FRONT FORD MOTOR COMPANY HEADQUARTER. IS THEIR FAULT TOO. PUTTING BACK ON THE ROADS A UNSAFE CAR? AND COVINGTON FORD TO SELL IT.
I'VE BOUGHT MY 2016 F150 XLT FX4 SC 5.0L USED WITH ABOUT 69K MILES ON IT AND HAD IT FOR NEARLY A YEAR NOW. SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK IT WILL DEVELOP A ROUGH IDLE AND WILL STALL WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT. THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN I MAKE A MULTI STOP TRIP, FOR EXAMPLE IF I STOP AT THE MARKET ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK, OR SOMETIMES EVEN JUST RETURNING HOME FROM WORK. SO FAR THIS ISSUE HAS ONLY HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS. OUTSIDE TEMPS ARE NO FACTORS AS THIS HAPPENS IN COLD WINTERY CONDITIONS OR HOT AND HUMID WEATHER. EVERY TIME THE TRUCK STALLS, THE CEL DOES NOT COME ON OR ANY OTHER DASH LIGHT EXCEPT THE BATTERY LIGHT AND I CAN RESTART THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY WITH NO ISSUES. AFTER THE TRUCK RESTARTS THERE IS NO FAULT LIGHT ON THE DASH AND TRUCK ACTS LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY STORED CODES OR PENDING CODES PERTAINING TO THIS ISSUE. THE REPAIR SHOP WAS ALSO ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT ALSO NOTICED A STRONG SMELL FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. AT THE MOMENT, IT IS UNKNOWN WHAT'S CAUSING MY TRUCK TO IDLE ROUGHLY AND STALL.
MY WIFE LEFT WORK AROUND 445 PM ON 12/27/18, WHEN SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ALONE WITH THE RADIO DISPLAY) DO NOT COME ON(TOTAL BLACKOUT), THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME(2 TIMES PRIOR TO THIS DATE) THIS HAS HAPPEN TO HER BUT WE HAVE NOTICE THIS OCCURRING DURING COLD WEATHER PERIODS. SO MY WIFE DROVE ABOUT 4 MILES THINKING THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON, WHICH THEY DID NOT, SO SHE PULLED INTO A BUSINESS PARKING LOT, PARKED THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT OFF FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES. SHE THEN TURNED ON THE VEHICLE AT WHICH TIME ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON.
HAD A FIRE START IN THE REAR SEAT AREA WHILE THE TRUCK WAS WARMING UP IN THE REMOTE START MODE . THE REMOTE START WAS FACTORY INSTALLED BY FORD . THE TRUCK WAS DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHEN HE HEARD A POP THAT SOUNDED LIKE A BALLOON BURSTING AND HE SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. HE DID HAVE THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW OPEN PARTIALLY. WHEN HE GOT HOME, HE LOOKED THE VEHICLE OVER TO FIND HIS BACK WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. OUR INSURANCE COVERED IT 100% BUT THIS APPEARS TO NOT BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. I WENT ONLINE AND LEARNED THAT HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER FORD F150S AND EXPLORERS AND FORD WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. I AM GOING TO PUT A COMPLAINT IN WITH THEM AS WELL.
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO AN APPOINTMENT I MADE WITH PRESTIGE FORD 17701 U.S. HWY 441, MT. DORA, FLORIDA 32756 FOR SAFETY RECALL 17V-652. I MADE AN APT. TO HAVE IT FIXED DEC. 24, @ 12:30. I ARRIVED A FEW MINUTES EARLY SIGNED PAPERWORK AND SAID I'D WAIT. ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER I WAS TOLD THEY WILL NOT FIX IT UNTIL IT MALFUNCTIONS. I ASKED THE GUY WHY WAS I GIVEN AN APT? HIS RESPONSE WAS IT WASN'T HIM. I TOLD HIM I GOING TO LAKE PLACID IN FEB. AND WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE DOORS FREEZING. HE SAID IF THEY DO THEN I CAN GET IT FIXED. SO I SAID I'M SUPPOSE TO BE STRANDED IN THE NORTH COUNTRY AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN MY TRUCK. ARE YOU PEOPLE FOR REAL? I WANT TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH YOUR AGENCY. I'VE ATTACHED PHOTOS BELOW OF THE WORK TICKET AND, GET THIS, A EMAIL THE DEALERSHIP SENT ME SAYING SORRY YOU MISSED YOUR APPOINTMENT. NO SORRY YOU DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM!
BRAKES HAVE FAILED ON MY 2016 F150. THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR HAS BEEN VERY LOW TWICE IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS. I FILLED IT COMPLETELY, TO FULL LINE, TWICE.
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER ,DID NOT STALL ,NO ENGINE LIGHT ,IN THE SPAN OF 1/2 MILE DID IT 3 TIMES ,PULLED OFF ROAD EACH TIME AND LET IDLE IN NEUTRALTHEN TOOK OFF AGAIN. THEN IT WENT 2 MILES OK ,STOPPED FOR 2HOURS ,BACK ON ROAD AGAIN AT APPIROXIMATELY 1 MILE LOSS POWER AGAIN ,I DID SAME AS ABOVE IT DI IT TWICE MORE WITHIN 1/2 MILE AGAIN ,THEN IT WAS OK FOR 1 1/2 MILES THEN DID AGAIN ON A REALLY BAD CURVE , THEN I DROVE ANOTHER 2 MILES TO MY HOME AND CALLED 800 # TO FORD ,THEY TOW TRUCK PICK IT UP TOOK TO MY DEALER ,THEY HAD A WEEK COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG ,THEY PUT APPROXIMATELY 50+ MILES ON IT ,NO PROBLEM DROVE NORMALLY ,CALLED ME TO PICK IT UP NO WAY TELL WHAT WAS WRONG WITHOUT A CODE ,DRIVE TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND CALL US , I SAID I'LL CALL BUT IF NO CODE WHAT HAPPENS THEN ,NO SENSE BRINGING BACK TO YOU BECAUSE NO NO CAN FIX ,NO ANSWER TO THAT ,GIVE BACK THE OLD DAYS PRE COMPUTER AT LEAST YOU COULD ALWAYS FIX THOSE VEHICLES ,WITH COMPUTER NOT EVEN A CLUE. AN THEY DARE TO PUT DRIVERLESS CARS ON THE ROAD!! AT THE RIGHT TIME AN LOCATION COULD CAUSE A DEADLY ACCIDENT!
THIS MORNING I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE ( IT WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY) TO WARM IT UP. I PROCEEDED TO USE THE REAR DEFROSTER BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME FROST ON THE REAR WINDSHIELD. FIVE MINUTES LATER I HEARD A LOUD POP AND WHEN I LOOKED BACK THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. I I I BELIEVE THIS WAS A RESULT OF A MALFUNCTION WITH THE WIRING OF THE REAR WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER OR THE REAR WINDSHIELD ITSELF.
PURCHASED TRUCK JULY 2016, IN DEC 15, 2018 AT 39,637 MILE THE ALTERNATOR FAILED. HAD TO HAVE NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY CABLE INSTALLED AT THE COST OF $800.00 NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY OF BY FORD. ON JUNE 11, 2020 ALTERNATOR AGAIN FAILED AND HAS TO BE REPLACED, FORD SERVICE QUOTING COST OF REPAIR TO BE $1000.00 AGAIN NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY OR FORD. THESE F150 HAVE SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE THAT FORD IS NOT ADDRESSING AND COSTING CONSUMERS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. *TR
SINCE BUYING THIS TRUCK I'VE BEEN HAVING DRIVELINE VIBRATIONS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VIBRATIONS HAPPEN WHEN FROM A COMPLETE STOP I WOULD ACCELERATE AND HAVE VIBRATIONS THAT WOULD CAUSE THE TRUCK TO SHAKE. THE CONDITIONS OF THE ROAD WERE NORMAL AND AND TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES ON DIFFERENT PAVEMENTS TO SEE IF IT MIGHT BE THE ROAD CONDITIONS BUT IT WASN'T. THE VIBRATIONS IS MAINLY BETWEEN THE 5-15 MILE PER HOUR RANGE. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS AND THAT IT WAS TOTALLY NORMAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE REAR WINDSHIELD EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TALLAHASSEE FORD LINCOLN (850)878-4855, LOCATED AT 243 N MAGNOLIA DR, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32301) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DEFOGGER OVERHEATED AND CAUSED THE REAR WINDSHIELD TO EXPLODE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,500. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
I HIT SOME ICE ON THE INTERSTATE AND LOST CONTROL. I RAN OFF THE ROAD DOING BETWEEN 45 & 50 MPH. I WENT DOWNHILL FOR AROUND 100 YARDS AND HIT A TREE. THE TREE CENTERED THE BUMPER AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
WAS IN NEUTRAL AND BEING PULLED THROUGH TOUCHLESS CAR WASH. PRIOR TO PUTTING IN GEAR TO PULL AWAY I HEARD A LOUD BANG. AFTER LOOKING IN REAR MIRROR SEEN MY WINDOW ALL SPIDERED. AFTER I PULLED OUT THE BOTTOM PORTION OF WINDOW FELL AS THE UPPER PORTION REMAINED. THIS SEEMS TO SPONTANEOUSLY HAPPEN FOR NO REASON TO THE F150. I'M PAYING $412 OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE REPAIRED. I REACHED OUT TO FORD AND WAITING FOR RESPONSE. I BELIEVE THE REAR GLASS HAS A DEFECT IN THE MAKING AND CAUSES A SERIOUS RISK TO DRIVERS THAT MAY GET STARTLED WHEN DRIVING AND SOMETHING SERIOUS HAPPENS. I HAVE COPY OF ACCIDENT REPORT FROM GAS STATION AND PICTURE OF DAMAGE. NO POLICE REPORT.
THE BACK GLASS SHATTERED. I WARMED THE TRUCK UP EARLIER USING MY REMOTE START. I GOT INTO THE TRUCK AND FORGOT MY PHONE, I THEN EXITED THE TRUCK AND CLOSED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND I HEAD A NOISE. THE GLASS EXPLODED BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. THERE WAS GLASS EVERYWHERE. AFTER RESEARCHING, I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE BACK GLASS. THE TRUCK WAS IN PARK AND IN OUR DRIVEWAY. THE QUOTE FROM THE FORD DEALER IS $750.

THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED AND THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE LATCH REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,250.
THE FORD F-150 2016 HAVE A SERIOUS FLAW IN SAFETY FEATURE. THE WINDOWS WILL NOT RAISE OR LOWER UNLESS THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS CAN'T BE PAINTED IN THIS EMAIL AS OPPOSED TO THE REAL LIFE POTENTIAL OF BEING TRAPPED IN A TRUCK AND THE ONLY WAY OUT WOULD BE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS. IN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES THE ENGINE MAY NOT START THEREFORE GIVING THE POTENTIAL TO BE TRAPPED IN A FORD TRUCK THAT COULD BE ON FIRE DUE TO A CRASH. I DARE NOT TRY TO ILLUSTRATE ALL THE POSSIBLE REASONS OF HOW DANGEROUS THIS SAFETY FLAW IN THE FORD IS BUT THE GIVEN FACT IS ALL AUTO MAKERS HAVE FAILED BY SELLING VEHICLES THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. ON MOST FORD VEHICLES THE TECHNOLOGY EXISTS FOR THIS FEATURE TO BE INSTALLED. THE INSTALL PROGRAM IS NAMED GLOBAL WINDOW. THE GLOBAL WINDOW INSTALL OPERATES WITH THE KEY FOB EVEN IF THE ENGINE ISN'T RUNNING. THE PROCEDURE FOR THIS TO WORK IS SIMPLY DOUBLE TAP THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB TWICE ON THE SECOND MOTION WHILE DEPRESSING THE UNLOCK BUTTON IT IS TO BE HELD IN THE DOWNWARD POSITION AND THIS ACTION WILL ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING. IN THE ARENA OF SAFETY IT IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY AUTO MAKER TO PRESENT THE POSSIBILITY OF TRAPPING ANY PERSON OR PERSONS IN A VECHICLE DUE TO WINDOWS NOT WORKING BECAUSE THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING. IN CLOSING I OFFER THIS SCENARIO AUTOMOBILE RUNS OFF A BRIDGE OVER A RIVER OR LAKE,THE VECHICLE SINKS AND THE OCCUPANTS CAN'T OPEN THE DOORS AND DUE TO THE SAFETY FAILURE OF THE WINDOWS NOT ROLLING DOWN DUE TO THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING CAUSES APPARENT HEART BREAK . I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK TO DEALER FOR MANY MULTIPLE ISSUES INVOLVING ELECTRICAL SINCE APPROXIMATELY 6600 MILES BEGINNING WITH SHAKING WHEN I SLOWED DOWN WITHOUT UTILIZING BRAKES. SINCE THEN I'VE BEEN AT THE DEALER WITH MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WHERE TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND ALL LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING AND VERY UNSAFE. WHEN I WOULD ATTEMPT TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN I WOULD PROCEED TO CROSS OPPOSING LANES AND VEHICLE WOULD FEEL LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND ALMOST WAS STRUCK ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. VEHICLE HAS ALSO OVER ACCELERATED VERY EARLY IN OWNERSHIP. MOST RECENTLY AND I PICKED UP MY TRUCK AND A WEEK LATER SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT CREATE A GREAT DANGER TO MYSELF AS WELL AS OTHER MOTORISTS. CERTAINLY I CANNOT BE THE ONLY PERSON WHO LITERALLY AS OF THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER 2015 RECEIVED MY ORDERED TRUCK AND NOW AFTER 3 YEARS HAS HAD SO MANY CLOSE CALLS WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE. ALL TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATIONAL AND RUNS VERY ROUGH PRIOR TO HAPPENING. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND VIDEO THE TRUCKS CAMERA AND OTHER ITEMS GOING ON AND OFF DURING OPERATION. FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET RECALL SERVICE FOR SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 17S33. THE LOCAL DEALER HAS NOT HAD THE PARTS NECESSARY TO DO THE WORK, AND THE LOCAL DEALER'S SERVICE REP SAYS THAT FORD IS NOT SENDING THEM ENOUGH PARTS TO COMPLY WITH THE RECALL.
THE POWER FOLDING MIRROR BUTTON IS LOCATED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS WINDOW CONTROL, APPROXIMATELY 1/2' AWAY. WHILE IN MOTION, DRIVER CAN HIT MIRROR BUTTON AND CAUSE THEM TO FOLD IN. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. PER FORWARDS OWN RECOMMENDATIONS, YOU MUST ALLOW THE MIRRORS TO FULLY RETRACTS BEFORE HITTING THE BUTTON TO PLACE THEM BACK IN NORMAL POSITION OTHERWISE, THIS COULD CAUSE ISSUES WITH THE MIRRORS. THIS CAUSES DRIVER TO REMOVE EYE FROM ROAD TO REMEDY SITUATION AS WELL AS NOT HAVING VISIBILITY OF SURROUNDINGS. SOFTWARE UPDATE SHOULD BE PUBLISHED TO DISABLE THE NEAREST FROM BEING ABLE TO BE FOLDED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
I WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT IN MY F-150 ON A MAIN ROAD IN THE 30-40MPH RANGE WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE (2006 CHEVY 2500 PICKUP) DARTED ACROSS TRAFFIC TRYING TO GO FROM ONE PARKING LOT TO ANOTHER. I STRUCK THE OTHER VEHICLE (T-BONED) ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND BACK DOORS. MY FOOT WAS JAMMING THE BRAKES AT THE TIME OF COLLISION. THE IMPACT WAS SIGNIFICANT AND CAUSED A GOOD AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF MY F-150. THE SEAT BELT ACTUATOR FIRED OFF TO LOCK ME IN PLACE BUT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW/WHY THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN THIS INSTANCE.
WE JUST TOOK MY 2016 F150 ECOBOOST TO WEST TEXAS OVER THANKSGIVING. TOWED UNDER 7500 LBS. TOWED COMPLETELY NORMAL THE WHOLE TIME (15 HOURS) UNTIL THE RETURN TRIP HOME. ABOUT 2.5 HOURS INTO MY RETURN TRIP (I WAS TOWING WITHOUT MY HUSBAND AND WITH TWO YOUNG KIDS ON A BACK HIGHWAY WITH NO CELL SERVICE AND ABSOLUTELY NO STOPS FOR 2 OF THOSE HOURS😯) I PULLED OVER TO SEE WHERE MY NEXT GAS STATION WAS AND MY TRUCK DIED. IT WOULD RESTART BUT WOULD DIE AGAIN. I FINALLY FIGURE I'M SCREWED, I'LL TRY AND JUST HIT THE GAS AND GO. SO I TOOK OFF AND BLEW THROUGH A STOP SIGN AND DIDN'T STOP UNTIL I REACHED A GAS STATION, WHERE IT DIED WHEN I STOPPED.. IT WAS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND ALL THE REPAIR SHOPS WERE CLOSED AND THERE WEREN'T ANY PARTS STORES OPEN. I FINALLY UNPLUGGED THE CAMPER, THINKING IT WAS DRAINING MY BATTERY AND STARTED IT UP AND GASSED IT TO GET IT GOING AND DIDN'T STOP UNTIL I REACHED SONORA AND CAMPED FOR THE NIGHT, ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY. AND THEN MY TRUCK WAS TOTALLY FINE AFTER THAT. I NEVER HOOKED THE CAMPER BACK UP AND I HAD FILLED UP THE GAS TANK AND PUT FUEL INJECTION CLEANER INTO THE TANK AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY MORE STALLS. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT CAME ON WHEN IT STALLED WAS THE BATTERY LIGHT.
DRIVING DOWN A HILL WITH MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK ON A DIVIDED HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES FOR AN UPCOMING STOP LIGHT AND THE PEDAL WENT ALMOST COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. AT THE SAME TIME A "BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW" ALARM LIGHT TURNED ON IN MY DASH ALONG WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED SYMBOL. I HAD TO QUICKLY SHIFT MY TRANSMISSION TO MANUAL AND DOWN SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION FROM 6TH GEAR ALL THE WAY DOWN TO FIRST GEAR TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN I CHECKED, THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS BELOW THE MINIMUM (MIN) LEVEL INDICATOR. I LATER FILLED THE RESERVOIR TO THE MAX LINE AND TESTED THE BRAKES. THE "BRAKE FLUID LOW LEVEL" WARNING LIGHT AND THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED LIGHT WENT AWAY AND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL. I TESTED THE BRAKES AND THEY SEEMED TO BE WORKING. I THEN TESTED THE VEHICLE OUT IN A SAFE AREA AND WITHIN MINUTES THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN AND THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. AT THIS TIME I PARKED THE VEHICLE AND REFERRED TO THE FACTORY REPAIR MANUAL TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THERE WERE NO VISIBLE LEAKS FROM ANY OF THE BRAKE COMPONENTS INCLUDING THE CALIPERS, BRAKE LINES OR MASTER CYLINDER. THE MANUAL RECOMMENDED CHECKING TO SEE IF ANY BRAKE FLUID WAS IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS NEARLY HALF FULL OF BRAKE FLUID. AT THIS POINT I REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER AS RECOMMENDED BY THE FACTORY MANUAL. THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH 2013-2016 FORD F-150'S AND THERE HAS BEEN A FACTORY RECALL ON THE 2013-2014 F-150'S (16V345000). I FEEL THAT IF I HAD NOT PUT THE VEHICLE IN MANUAL AND DOWNSHIFTED I WOULD NOT BEEN ABLE TO STOP AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AT THE INTERSECTION. EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
On 11/22/18, Thanksgiving Day, I was driving our 2 year-old Ford Lariat F-150 Supercrew alone on a backroad in Northern Colorado. I was going approx., 65MPH when out of nowhere the truck downshifted from 6th to 2nd gear and caused the truck to lockup, slam me into the drivers seat, and stop in the middle of a thankfully empty road. The engine made a popping sound. The truck made creaking noises from the wheels as I drove it home. It immediately started leaking oil. I took the truck that was still under warranty to the local dealer we bought the truck from the following week as it was a holiday, where I left the truck for a few days, and upon pickup, was told my concerns could "not be replicated" other than an oil leak. I spoke to the 'managers' in a backroom who were 2 men who LITERALLY told me I just needed to learn how to drive my truck better. I asked them if they had actually driven the truck to LISTEN to what a truck still under warranty sounded like after it how downshifted for no logical reason and dead stopped in the road after locking up. They did not. I told them I thought they wiped the codes and were relying on computers to diagnose issues and if Ford knew they had a problem and were hiding it, and people died, Ford would be sued. True story. I reported this to the FBI due to the response because it was disturbing. I know what happened to me when our truck downshifted. If I was on the highway people would have died. Period. I have 10 years worth of documents and all the Ford notes on everything that went wrong with the truck after that catastrophic event. I have 4 official complaints filed with Ford Corporate starting in early Feb., 2019 through late 2025. Shoutout to FormulaFord Rutland for being kind and ethical. I have pictures and video of our truck acting like "Christine" because the software goes haywire when it feels like it. I have the oil leaks and sounds from the wheels recorded on video. Ford Fusion did the same thing. Ford knows. Not ok

FIRE AND LOTS OF SMOKE INSIDE MY TRUCK WHEN I USED MY REMOTE START INSIDE MY GARAGE ...DROPPED BACK SEAT, PULLED CARPET BACK AND WITNESS AND RECORDED A BURNT WIRE HANGING DOWN ACROSS REAR WINDOW THAT KEPT BURNING AND NEVER STOPPED/POPPED A FUSE OR RELAY UNTIL I SHUT DOWN THE REMOTE START. FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE REAR DEFROSTER THAT AUTOMATICALLY TURNS ON WHEN USING REMOTE START ...REPLACED ENTIRE BACK WINDOW AND WIRE HARNESS SPLIT COST WITH FORD NOT UNDER WARRANTY '.
DOOR LATCHES ARE INOPERABLE IN TEMPS BELOW 30F. DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED AND/OR LATCHED CLOSED. TWO FORD RECALLS TO REMEDY THE ISSUE HAVE FAILED TO WORK SUCCESSFULLY ON EVERY DOOR. THIS MAKES THE TRUCK EITHER COMPLETELY INOPERABLE BECAUSE I CANT GAIN ENTRY OR A SAFETY HAZARD IF DOORS CANNOT BE LATCHED CLOSED. I ALSO FEAR NOT BEING ABLE TO GET MYSELF, OR WORSE, MY CHILDREN OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY.
ENGINE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. WITHOUT POWER HAD TO FIND SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD TO NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT WAS GOING STRAIGHT WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. THE DEALER SAID THE ISSUE WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY.
DOOR LOCKS NOT LATCHING IN COLD WEATHER. DOORS CAN BE OPENED, BUT WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW FREEZING. WORRIED THAT EVEN WHEN LATCHED THEY MAY OPEN WHILE DRIVING
WINDSHIELD WASHER SYSTEM WILL NOT PUMP FLUID AT TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING EVEN WHEN USING WASHER FLUID RATED FOR -30 DEGREES F. I RECENTLY WAS ON A 1.5 HOUR TRIP WITH THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AT ABOUT +20 DEGREES F. I NEEDED TO SPRAY WASHER FLUID ON THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING AND THE LIQUID WOULD NOT PUMP. AFTER ARRIVING AT MY DESTINATION AND PARKING OUTSIDE WITH NO SUN; I WENT TO TRY THE WASHERS AFTER LETTING THE TRUCK SIT FOR 20 MINUTES; THE WASHER WORKED FINE. I PUMPED THE CONTAINER DRY BY REPEATEDLY ACTIVATING THE WASHER TO ATTEMPT TO FLUSH ANY OLD FLUID OUT OF THE SYSTEM. I THEN REFILLED THE WASHER WITH -30 F RATED FLUID AND PUMPED SOME OF THIS THROUGH THE SYSTEM. AFTER LETTING THE TRUCK SIT OVERNIGHT I TRIED USING THE WASHERS WHILE THE OUTDOOR AMBIENT TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT +20F AND AGAIN THE WASHERS WOULD NOT PUMP FLUID. I KNOW THE FLUID IS GOOD, IT IS BRAND NEW AND FROM A REPUTABLE SUPPLIER. THE FLUID IS LIQUID IN THE WASHER FLUID TANK IN THE TRUCK. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE FLUID DISPENSING SYSTEM IN THIS TRUCK. I HAVE ALSO OWNED A 2015 FORD F-150 PICKUP THAT EXHIBITED THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING ON WET WINTER ROADS.
I WENT TO STOP/BRAKE FOR SLOWING TRAFFIC ON INTERSTATE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. TRUCK AFTER IMPACT STILL TRAVELED OVER 200 PLUS YARDS BEFORE COMING TO A ROLLING STOP. HOW CAN THE FOLLOW HAPPEN??? 'BRAKE PEDAL GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR 'SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS 'COMPLETE FAILURE OF BRAKING FUNCTION
WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW FREEZING THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN, OR THEY WON'T LATCH SHUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 5 OCCASIONS SINCE NOVEMBER 2018 . FORD ISSUED SAFETY RECALL 17S33 AND FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 18N03 TO TRY TO REPAIR THE DOOR LATCH DEFECT. THOSE RECALLS, AND REPAIR PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE, AND AFTER FOUR ATTEMPTS BY THE DEALER TO CORRECT THE LATCH ISSUES, THE DEFECT STILL EXISTS. THE DOORS STILL HAVE PROBLEMS OPENING AND LATCHING SHUT WHEN FREEZING OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES. NHTSA CAMPAIGN 17V652 IDENTIFIES THIS SAFETY DEFECT AS ONE THAT CAUSES THE DOORS TO EITHER NOT OPEN, NOT CLOSE, OR TO FLY OPEN WHEN DRIVING. THIS REPRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. I BELIEVE IT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE, ESPECIALLY KIDS OR PETS, TO RIDE IN A CAR WHERE THE DOORS CAN EITHER UNEXPECTEDLY FLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, OR TO NOT BE ABLE TO OPEN IN EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. FORD NEEDS TO COME UP WITH A RELIABLE REPAIR FOR THIS.
I WAS DRIVING AND THERE WAS THE SMELL OF BURNING ELECTRONICS AND MY TRUCK CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE. I PULLED OVER, AND SAW THE DEFROSTER ON THE REAR WINDOW WAS SMOKING. I EXITED THE VEHICLE, OPENED MY DOORS TO LET THE SMOKE OUT, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD AN EXPLOSION LIKE A GUN SHOT AND THE REAR GLASS GLASS SHATTERED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL PIERRE FORD INC (11525 LAKE CITY WAY NE, SEATTLE, WA 98125) AND THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,738. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

BACK OF CAMERA SCREEN FAILED. WHEN PUTTING TRUCK IN REVERSE THE SCREEN IS BLANK. THIS SAME SCREEN ALSO DISPLAYS THE RADIO, AND IT IS ALSO BLANK. HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY OR MOVING. AT FIRST THE SCREEN WOULD GO OUT, AND AFTER YOU DROVE THE CAR AND TURNED IT OFF IT WOULD WORK AGAIN. THEN IT STARTED TO GET FUZZY, AND FINALLY IT WENT COMPLETELY OUT. UNSAFE IF BACKING UP UNLESS YOU ARE AWARE THAT THE BACK UP CAMERA SCREEN IS NOT WORKING. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER WHEN IT FIRST HAPPEN WHEN UNDER WARRANTY BUT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT FAILING THEY STATED THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME IT FAILED OUT OF WARRANTY AND I PAID TO HAVE THIS FIX BUT I FEEL OTHERS MAY BE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. IF THERE IS AN ISSUE PERHAPS THIS CAN BE ADVERTED FOR THE FUTURE FOR OTHER PEOPLE .

THE FAILURE RECURRED OVER AN EIGHT MONTH PERIOD AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE.
