My F150 engine stalls while driving when I am at a1/4 tank or less in hot or cold weather in stop and go traffic, at a stop sign or red traffic signal. I am able to restart the engine after placing the transmission in neutral or park. I have reported this issue to my ford dealer, but they say there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. There is currently a recall (#25S75) for this issue in later model F150s, but my vehicle is not covered. The Ford hotline instructed me to report this issue to NHTSA.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. While the contact's husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed the odor of fuel on the interior of the vehicle. The contact's husband parked the vehicle. The contact's husband performed an inspection of the vehicle and became aware that fuel was spraying underneath the vehicle onto the exhaust pipe. The contact's husband who is an independent mechanic, diagnosed the failure as a high-pressure fuel line fracture. The contact was informed that the fuel line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
I have a 2016 Ford F-150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost engine with 92,019 miles. This morning (9/11/2024) as I headed to work, I pulled out to cross highway 54 and the truck suddenly lost power. It would only idle. As I tried pushing harder on the gas pedal, it would not come out of an idle and I barely made it to the center divide with multiple vehicles headed right at my drivers side going 65 - 70 mph. The check engine came on and stayed on. The truck was shaking and vibrating tremendously. I could not leave the truck there as it was blocking traffic in both directions. I was able to back up and cross back over the highway and pulled to the shoulder. I turned the truck off and started to make a call for AAA when I received a notification from my Bouncie. It threw a P2112 code throttle actuator “A” control system - stuck closed. After letting the truck sit for a couple minutes, I started it back up and was able to make it home.
My Engin light went on code was P0304 cylinder 4 misfire.I recently replaced #4 ignition coil. Using power balance test, confirmed cylinder #4 is misfiring but only on idle. Per TSB 19-2310 , suspect #4 direct fuel injector of leaking. The dealership will not help back up this problem. Need all 6 fuel injectors replaced to make my truck SAFE to drive.my truck has the 2.7L v 6 eco boost engine. A lot of these engines have this problem, Ford as of now does not have a recall but should. This problem needs fixed before someone gets hurt. This could cause a fire.
It over 2 years ago my truck was stalling out on me while driving and they replaced the vehicle throttle body. The same thing jsut happened last week and I again had to replace the same part. There is a recall for this part on f150s but not my year. It seems unreasonable to have to pay for the same new part in just over 2 years. I was told I should clean it every 15k now which also seems unreasonable and a cost to me.
The contact owned a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, smoke was coming from the rear passenger window with no warning lights illuminated. The contact pulled over and exited the vehicle safely and noticed that the rear of the vehicle caught on fire. The local fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was undisclosed, but the fire marshal's report was provided to the contact. The contact suffered from smoke inhalation for a few days but did not seek medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to the local towing facility and later picked up by the contact's insurance agency for investigation. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and accelerating, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to a local dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not determined. The dealer replaced the throttle control and the PCM; however, the failure persisted. My truck keeps going into a limp mode where there is zero power even when pressing gas pedal. While in limp mode, engine won't rev up at all. In addition, the vehicle begins to show errors such as "Service AdvancetTrac", "Collision Warning not available", "Hill Start Assist nit available". From the research I have done, this appears to be a well-known throttle body issue documented by Ford. The question is why hasn't there been a recall. This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS as the truck essentially becomes powerless on the road. Please advise.
While driving my 2016 F-150 in heavy traffic, the vehicle suddenly loses all forward power as if the transmission were in neutral. The engine is running and the tachometer indicates the RPM's are approximately 1,200, but it will not respond to pushing the gas pedal. The RPM's remain the same, regardless of how hard the pedal is pushed. Shifting the transmission to other forward gears does nothing, it still acts as though it is in neutral. A wrench symbol appears on the main screen, as well as a message that says "Hill Start Not Available". The *ONLY* way to fix the problem is to bring the vehicle to a complete stop, turn it off, wait a few seconds, and then start it again. It starts very roughly at first. After one or two attempts at this, the engine will reengage with the transmission and respond properly. It then drives normally for several days or a week. After considerable research, I found a TSB from Ford that indicates this is a known problem with their Electronic Throttle Body. The TSB number is 16-0139. It is extremely dangerous because it often happens at high speeds. It once happened to me on a narrow causeway, blocking all traffic while I came to a complete stop and restarted the truck. It also happened on a very busy highway. I was able to pull off to a narrow shoulder and restart the vehicle, but it was terrifying in extremely heavy traffic.
Warning lamps come on with amessage about hill decent service advance trac. Then vehicle goes into limp mode and shakes and shutters an the truck will only drive at or below 5 mph.> You then have to shut the vehicle off and restart it to get it to drive again this has happened to my truck at least 10 times in the last month It seems to happen at different speeds I have been real lucky as it has only happened to my truck while I was on a not to busy street. The vehicle shows a code of P2112 was set which states the throttle body needs to be replaced.
Broken exhaust manifold bolts causing loss of power when passing, going up steep grades or hauling heavy loads. The safety concern is loss of control due to loss of power during critical needs for power performance.
The exhaust manifold have warped,up due to lack of bolting down properly from the factory, and it is a known fact there are many other vehicles with the eco-boost that are having the same problem as I am 3.5
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the battery warning light illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the purge valve; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 131,687.
The throttle body control failed which caused the vehicle to have no power just idle. It failed at a time when I wasn’t in a dangerous spot it failed in my neighborhood. But it makes the vehicle with no power when pushing on the gas. Talked to dealer and they said yes they can just go out like a light bulb. If I was making a turn or merging into traffic it would have been extremely dangerous. Searching online this seems to be a common problem with these suddenly going out.
Vehicle shudders and stalls occasionally especially after a period of driving.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH, the speed abruptly decreased. The failure occurred on multiple occasions. During the failure, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact indicated that a diagnostic test indicated the failure was due to a stuck throttle body. The vehicle was not examined by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 124,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and idling, when the contact returned to turn off the vehicle, there was an abnormal gasoline odor surrounding the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the local dealer. The contact had an independent mechanic diagnose the vehicle and was advised that a gasoline feeding tube under the driver’s side seat located on the frame was too short for its connection to the fuel pump and to the engine. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the connection was under pressure and was leaking gasoline and could detach from the connector and spray gasoline onto the engine. The contact called a local dealer and provided the dealer with the part number for the hose (FL34-9J278-AE). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
While the engine is idling, whether in park, drive, or reverse the engine intermittently loses RPM and shuts off. The dealer claims they can not duplicate the issue. No messages appear other then the car is on battery power. This has been going on for about the last 20000 miles.
Exhaust manifolds both warped. Poorly designed and few studs near the end. Costly repair and very involved install.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the pressurized fuel line fractured causing an abnormal fuel odor inside the vehicle. The contact exited the vehicle and became aware of fuel leaking from the fuel line. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the fuel line needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
