After I purchased a RV and making the trip home, we went through several stop lights. As we were slowing down to make a stop at light, the vehicle made an abrupt downshift. Seemed like it was in fourth gear and went in to first or second gear. The vehicle jerked and the rpm went to around 6000. I thought my engine was going to blow up!! Scary and felt dangerous! Then it happened again approximately 10 miles down the road. I haven't experienced this since this date but I haven't pulled anything since then either. Please make this a recall. It isn't just the 2014 model. I have V8 5.0 6 speed transmission. Please help.
I have a 2017 F-150 3.5 Ecoboost and contacted my local Ford dealership and was told my vehicle does not have a recall on the cam phasers but there is a recall on this faulty parts and I'm experiencing these parts failing with only 73,000 miles. Would there be a program I could qualify for to help with the replacement of these faulty parts ? Thank you.
I'm experiencing issues with Ford's 10-speed transmission, widely considered dangerous due to issues like: harsh shifting, sudden jerking, hesitation when applying power, and unpredictable gear changes. Erratic shifting: The transmission can shift gears unexpectedly, causing sudden jolts and potentially causing loss of control, especially during critical driving situations like lane changes or heavy traffic. Power loss: sudden loss of power due to transmission issues, which can be dangerous on the road The issue occurs in regular intervals but with no particular trigger. No, there were no prior warnings before this failure The ford dealer has run diagnostics on my vehicle and reports an issue with the transmission which causes the above mentioned dangerous conditions.
2017 F150 - V8 - 6Sp/Automatic Transmission; Original Owner; 91.5k miles; lead frame issue.. Vehicle downshifted on it's own and check engine light came on.. additional issues with vehicle not starting and transmission not showing in gear.. Dealership finally diagnosed with lead frame issue.. Research shows recall on 2011>2016 F150's for identical issues and lead frame replacement but tells me that although recalls show a pattern, my 2017 is not covered! $1519 repair!!

Transmission will change gears while driving. I can be driving 45 mph in traffic, truck will automatically shift and I'm now going 15 and cannot speed up. There is no warning lites on dash before issue occurs. Called dealership who had no solutions to offer. I cannot be the only one experiencing this issue from reading online forums and Ford needs to be held accountable for faulty equipment. This is a safety issue in traffic for my family.
My cam phasers are starting to go out vehicle has 97,000 miles. Also, the screen display for stereo goes black frequently.
2017 Ford f150 Raptor transmission 10r80 has been many complaints of Ford owners due to safety issues. My truck jerks from Park to drive. Also when driving, the gears don't shift correctly. I'm hoping their is a solution that Ford needs to pay and take care of this transmission problem. As in the meantime I have my Ford truck in the Dealership hoping it can be a Recall.
My 2017 Ford F150 crew cab listed has chrome wheels on it. Just replaced the original tires on the chrome wheels and the chrome chips off. According to the tire company and the Ford dealer, these wheels are defective and Ford knows about it. The dealer said that Ford has replaced these wheels because of the chrome coming off which makes the wheels weak. I contact Ford customer service and they did not see a recall. Ford recommended a contact national Highway traffic safety association. File a case.

My torque converter was worn out due to improver down shifting by my transmission, causing me to have a complete transmission replacement. All work was inspected and then replace by a transmission expert.
My F150 Truck dropped out of gear (5th ) to lower gear while driving. Which is very dangerous and caused almost a potential accident. Seem the power train in transmission and sensors had issue keeping truck in gear. Seems to be an issue on previous F150s and alot of 2017 models
After researching, I found multiple videos on YouTube and hundreds of replies saying that people have had the same problem and don't know why there is not a recall on this problem. 2017 ford 3.5L eco boost engine has plastic valve covers that crack and leak oil(dangerous due to flammability). I found this problem since I was researching a vvt solenoid after scanning and finding code p0022. I have not replaced the solenoid due to this problem. If the valve covers keep cracking, this code will continue to pop and it will be an endless loop of replacing parts. Please help. Pictures don't load. Please reach out if you need any additional information or closer up pictures. I can provide anything you need. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The air conditioner/heater has intermittently. Sometimes that air will blow cold but then becomes warm and sometimes the defroster takes more time than usual to warm up. The AC fans will come on high and continuously run if the AC is on. This hasn't worked properly since I purchased this used truck with a warranty from a Ford dealership. I have had it to the dealership on 2 occasions and no codes existed and they could not replicate the issue. This issue affects the ability to defrost and/or defog the windshield. During driving when the windshield gets clogged up because of the weather conditions it becomes hazardous to my passengers and myself. Ford because there were no errors codes or lights and they could not reproduce the issue returned the vehicle unfixed. I have had the vehicle to 2 repair shops and both indicated this is a known issue by Ford and they have issued a Technical Service Bulletin #22-2089 on 9 March 2022 acknowledging this issue but has failed to correct this issue.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted with no warning lights illuminated. Vehicle stuck in 7th gear upon starting.
The truck was parked overnight and operating normal. I started it up the next day and the brake pedal went straight to the floor. It's leaking brake fluid all over from the front passenger brake hose. The dealership says it is not under recall or fixable by warranty. This could have been extremely dangerous on a highway or while towing. This vehicle has just over 61k miles.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the independent mechanic for a service appointment, the contact requested that the driver's side fog light be replaced. The contact was informed that the fog light was not faulty; however, the contact was informed that the driver's fog light was inoperable due to a power outage in the fog light housing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 128,086.
The thin decorative steel cover on the wheel lug nuts are cracking at the corners and deforming to the extent that they would be difficult to get off with the provided tire wrench in a roadside tire failure. My tire shop had to drive a socket on, then drive it off.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact had previously received notification of Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 (Engine Cam Phaser Replacement), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that no repair was needed. The contact related the failure to the Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 (Engine Cam Phaser Replacement). The dealer replaced the cam phasers, the timing chain, the gaskets, the water pump, and other unknown parts. The vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer covered under the Customer Satisfaction Program. The failure mileage was approximately 65,208.
TRANSMISSION WOULD DOWN SHIFT AND LOCK UP WHEN BEING DRIVEN IN TRAFFIC. LOCKED UP WHILE IN TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT . TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD ENOUGH THAT IT HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH A FACTORY REBUILD. THERE WERE NO WARNING LAMPS THAT CAME ON DURING THESE OCCASIONS.
On 8/19/24 the transmission started slipping mildly. 8/20/24 slipping progresses to total failure to engage. I was on the highway (10 miles out of town) when it became clear I would not make it to my destination- I pulled off at a driveway to turn around and attempt to make it to my mechanic. At the driveway, I placed the gearshift in reverse to make a 3 point turn; the gear would not engage and the truck rolled back into a ditch, with 1 tire suspended in the air, tetering at a wavering 45 degree angle. Leaning weight of all passengers uphill and placing truck in 4-high, the transmission did engage in drive and I was fortunately able to avert the seemingly inevitable rolling of the vehicle, and we were able to pull out onto the road. Terrifying. We made it to my mechanic, who ran codes and got: PO 772-00 and P2704-00. He sent me to the transmission shop, who told me they will not touch a Ford 10 spd tranny because they have so many problems. The Ford dealer has advised it needs a new transmission tot he tone of $10k. They encouraged contacting Ford Corporate. Ford Corporate informed me that yes, the 10 spd transmission do have a lot of known problems, and there are a number of recalls, based on date of manufacture and batch manufactured at specific plants. Though my truck is exhibiting the same catastrophic failure of the transmission as those recalled, Ford informed me my batch is not included in the recall and thus they will do absolutely nothing to help me and the pay will be my responsibility out of pocket. My case # with Ford corporate is CXH02611974.
Went to hit the brakes and they went all the way to the floor and come to find out the brake line was completely shredded. I have it at Les Schwab tire center in Lincoln city right now getting fixed. It’s going to cost me $950 for all of this. And now my kids and I are stranded.
TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND LOCKED UP REAR TIRES
Ive had a few incidents where the vehicle shifted so hard into a lower gear that the tires made a sound. I thought the truck was going to break. I can have some one behind and I would be rear ended. My truck will get in a wreck just a matter of time. Especially if there is a turn, rain, snow, ice, a hill, or someone behind me. Other incidents with the powertrain have happened like not wanting to shift and the lights start blinking. The truck doesn't know what to do. So if this happens at a stop light, a stop sign, parking lot on the highway, I will probably get in a wreck. I've had it checked by a couple mechanics and they don't know. Its all over the forums of people having issues but nobody has a solution. And if there is a solution its very expensive. And not really sure if that fixes the issue. Its a very unsafe vehicle and only a matter of time before Ford gets sued for millions. I've already made a claim with Ford. They have refused to help me in the situation.
I have defective Cam Phasers for the second time resulting in rattling on startup. For the first event, the issue was handled under warranty. I understand that the cam phasers have been redesigned and he old design was apparently installed in my vehicle. This repair is extremely expensive and even, Cynthia, the Ford Cust Svc rep stated that this is a very common issue. The second event started [XXX] with about 125,000 miles on my odometer. Ford Case # is [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Went to my honest Big O tire shop for tire rotation. Informed that lug nuts on wheels were very hard to remove. Recommended it replace them next oil change. Why wouldn't this be a Ford problem and a recall issue? Seems to me to be dangerous and a real problem with a flat tire changed on the road.
My F150 has an inherent design defect which makes them predisposed to leak coolant, including allowing the coolant to seep into the engine cylinder, which causes overheating and cylinder head cracking, and can cause the engine to misfire, suddenly stall, or even catch fire while driving. My truck currently has this issue it have white/gray smoke coming from the exhaust and has a coolant leaking issue causing it to come out of the tailpipe. This is 100% a manufacturing issue. I have always had my maintenance done at the dealership, examples of oil changes, and things like that. I have owned the vehicle since brand new engine issue is at no fault of mine.
I was driving home and noticed that the back mirror light was on. I tried to turn it off using the button, but it wouldn't go off. Confused, I pulled over to the side to check what was wrong and found that the rear sliding glass was leaning forward on my back seat. The track that was apparently holding it in place had come unglued! I could not believe it. It was raining and I was still a one hour drive away from home.
Driving along at normal speed, often on the highway. Truck in 5th or 6th gear. Sometimes 4th. It will shift into 1st gear. Other times it will shift into 3rd or 2nd and get stuck for way too long. I will have to completely stop for it to start shifting "normally"
My truck, a 2017 Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboost, started making a very loud rattling noise every time I started the engine in the morning. After doing some research online, it became apparent that the issue was due to my VCT (Variable Camshaft Timing). VCT is a FORD DEVELOPED technology that supposedly improves engine performance, fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. I was sold on this technology when I purchased the truck brand new from the dealership back in 2017. I brought my truck into the Ford dealership where I purchased the truck, and was told that this is a KNOWN issue with my particular model. Apparently, Ford is aware of this issue because the Gen 1 trucks (older versions of mine) had the same issue. The problem was supposedly fixed in the Gen 2 versions (my truck), but it turns out that is not true. Ford even has a financial aid program for this problem, where they help cover costs for repair if the truck is under 70k miles or under 84 months old. My truck has 56k miles on it, but is 86 months old, so I am being denied financial compensation. This should be a recall because Ford developed this technology and is clearly aware of the issue. Not only is my truck not maintaining steady RPM, it has reduced power output and I am worried about it seizing or stalling on the freeway while driving. My family and I have driven Ford vehicles forever and we have been very loyal customers for generations. It's a shame to say that I am very disappointed in Ford as a company and will no longer be buying their products moving forward. This needs to be recalled and Ford's customers deserve to be compensated for this ineffective Ford developed technology.
My transmission will down shift into 2 gear no matter how fast I'm driving and my gear position on the dash goes out but no check engine like has come on yet this has happened multiple times in the pass couple weeks. The last time I was driving at 65 MPH and the truck down shifted and locked the back tires up and motor RPM hit 8000. The truck slid about 200 yards before it slowed down and started shifting back into 6th gear. I was pushed up into the steering wheel if my seat belt would have stopped me I could have hit the windshield. I refuse to drive this truck until it is fixed and can be proven it will not happen again. Thanks for looking into this...
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted, and the vehicle stalled. The power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred while driving. An unknown dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
The 5.0L Ford F-150 Engine experienced a P2005 :Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open Bank 2. This code triggers when the powertrain control module (PCM) can't control the intake manifold runner as requested . It also experienced a P2007 This code may be set due to a bad intake manifold runner solenoid or actuator with a mechanical failure within the intake manifold runner system. symptoms included poor engine performance, reduced fuel efficiency, and engine surge. It also has a P2019 DTC CODE related to the intake manifold flow control valve/position sensor, also called known as a IMRC valve/sensor (typically located at one end of the intake manifold) which helps the vehicle’s PCM control the amount of air being allowed into the engine at various RPMs. This code is set for Bank 2 errors. This is a safety issue as my vehicle slowed down and experienced significant power loss on the highway. FORD is aware of this problem with defective parts and has not issued a recall. FORD'S answer is have the entire intake manifold replaced at the owners cost.
Ford, the dealership, has diagnosed my vehicle with a Cam Phaser Issue. This should be covered under Fords Customer Satisfaction Program #21N03. Unfortunately Ford has outlined that my VIN is not part of this service bulletin even though it is the same 3.5L Eco boost engine outlined in the service bulletin
Pressurized fuel line routed over the fuel tank started leaking. It is being repaired now. The shop doing the repair claims this is the third one this year. Fuel squirts out under the bed of the truck. I have a video of how it looks.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving on three occasions at various speeds, the vehicle failed to shift gear properly and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the molded lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.
After driving at highway speed, 75-80 MPH for about 6 hours, the steering felt heavy, minor steering input resulted in major directional changes. The steering direction felt locked in that minor turn position and required significant effort over what was normal to return the direction to straight and that action caused a dramatic directional change. Upon my return home, I had the vehicle inspected by the dealer, Kelly Ford in Melbourne Florida and they could not identify or duplicate the problem. I have significant experience in vehicle operation, including being a Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations driving instructor and this condition was extremely dangerous. Controlling the vehicle, keeping it in a lane and recovering from navigating curves in the road was a significant challenge. There were no notifications of an issue displayed on the dashboard before, during or after the event. The problem was not an issue at lower speed, below 45 MPH after exiting the highway or when running at highway speed with everything cold from an overnight park until after 5-6 hours of operation at highway speed when the issue returned. After the initial onset of the issue on July 30, It reoccured on July 31. Our trips ater that were shorter until August 6 on our drive from Wilson NC to our home in Palm Bay FL when the problem recurred. On what for me is a normal drive, the steering was again very heavy feeling and the steering unpredictable when driving on the Florida turnpike on August 13 from my home in Palm Bay FL to Fort Lauderdale FL
My F150 has had the VCTS Units replaced four times. Two times at my expense costing me over $2000 each time. Ford fixed the problem under warranty once while it was still under warranty. They also did a reprogram that was to fix the problem but the problem did come back. I have now had to replace the VCTS twice at my expense for a total of four times since purchasing the truck and each time I am told the new parts are the fix. The second problem is the transmission slams out of gear while accelerating to pass other cars. Truck started to jerk and stop and shift sporadically into different gears. attached is one receipt. More are available. I will have one more after today's submission for nearly $2000 is repair for the same fix in under 50,000 miles since the last fix.
My 2017 2.7l 6 speed f150 frequently experiences a random downshift to 1gear at various speeds and then it shifts to 5th gear and then 4th gear and then it stays in 4th gear. Multiple transmission shops have noted that the lead frame and valve body are potentially responsible for the downshift because the previous generation 6 speeds had the same issue. No codes are populating when the downshift happens and no CEL or Wrench light come onto the screen. The only way to get the truck to shift properly again is to turn it off and wait a while and then turn it back on. This problem has been reproduced by independent service centers.
