Data synced from NHTSA on May 4, 2026
The windshield was not sealed properly. The primer and glue were applied incorrectly and now has disintegrated over time causing a leak in the area where the pin holds the windshield at the drivers side of the vehicle. From what I understand this could cause the windshield to dislodge in an accident.
I have a 2017 F150 Lariat. When accelerating even in lower gear it may make a harsh noise when shifting sometimes making the truck jerk. Just wanted to report this because I saw a video talking about the problem.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle made an abnormally loud ticking sound. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the failure was related to the cam phasers, which the contact related to Ford Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 21N03. The dealer provided an estimate for the repair; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Vehicle would downshift to 3rd or 1st gear and will not shift out of that gear at any speeds. Would happen at randomly at highway speeds or just from accelerating from a stop, causing dangerous speed changes while on highway. Turning engine/keys completely off and back on will reset the error. Service wrench light would also come on occasionally when this happens. This issue has been prevalent for the last few years since after hitting 60k miles mark. Inspection is available upon request. Issue cannot be reproduced on demand, only randomly. Issue has not been evaluated by any service technicians or dealerships or any other persons except myself using a diagnostics code scanner. Using a diagnostic scanner shows error code "P0722-00 Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal - Not Current DTC."
I have an invoice regarding multiple leaks on the engine, and loud rattling noise from the cam phasers. This engine is notorious to have these leaks from every forum I have read. It doesn’t seem to have a mileage relation either. The problem I have with this is that these leaking components can leak fast enough for a customer to not notice and can lose lubrication within the engine leading to premature wear and tear. The cam phasers have been revised but should all be replaced. If the cam phasers are in charge of timing control and valve train manipulation and if they fail they could throw the engine out of timing and cause a massive malfunction, bent valves, connecting rods, damaged pistons etc. this needs to be addressed as it is a lengthy and expensive repair. This effects all ecoboost engines. After multiple online chats, phone calls and 6 emails, ford is not willing to budge and help their customers with this issue and offer any compensation. Also, I had the oil pan replaced 2 years and 5 months ago due to it leaking. I think this stems from it being made of a plastic compound. Oil gets hot and cold and the weather in Minnesota changing so rapidly causes this to fail so early.
Leaking sunroom. I cleaned tube's couple times and it is still happening. Ever time it's been raining my floor mat is soaking wet
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that shortly after refueling the vehicle; while his wife was driving at a slow speed and merging onto the highway, the transmission failed to shift above 4th gear. In addition, the contact stated that the RMP had increased but the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was determined that there was failure with 2 wiring harnesses that required replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact noticed that the rearview camera image occasionally failed to properly display an image. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
Vehicle unexpectedly downshifted and service now light came on. Speed was difficult to control as the vehicle would either rapidly decelerate or accelerate. Cruise control was unable to be used. I received a speeding ticket because I was unable to consistently maintain speed. Problem returns intermittently and is usually resolved by pulling over, turning off the vehicle and turning back on.
December 2024 I started experiencing intermittent down shifts from 6th to 3rd. First time was on a very icy road while towing two snowmobiles on a trailer causing it to jack knife and I spun out. Luckily no one else was on the road. After a brief search, I assumed the well know lead frame was the cause. Im a diy person so I ordered new parts and replaced the leadframe myself. I've driven over 10,000 since with no issues.
I live in a cold climate, WA State, and own a 2017 Ford F150 XLT. On several occasions, both the drivers front door and passenger front doors have opened while driving without activating the door handle. This only occurs when it is wet with rain or snow and below freezing outside. On several occasions, when wet and cold, the doors on this truck will not latch shut as the latching mechanism is freezing on the interior of the vehicle doors. This truck has already been into the Ford dealer and the door recall notice has been addressed and fixed per Corwin Ford. The problem has not been resolved and continues to this day in an extremely dangerous state. I was advised there was nothing else they could do to help the door suddenly and unexpectedly opening issue and that I should contact both Ford and NHTSA. This is a very dangerous situation as my son was driving home from the ski resort, the doors would not latch shut and a passenger nearly fell out of the vehicle. This is unacceptable and extremely disappointing. I feel this safety issue has not been handled by Ford Motor Company and I am very afraid to have my son drive this truck in this dangerous condition. Please contact me regarding this complaint as I can give further details on the issue and send videos of this issue occurring. When this occurs, there are no warning lamps present. Please see the attached repair invoice for the recall notice.
I was drinking home from work one day traveling at a rate of 60 mph and all of a sudden the transmission shifts into 2nd gear which made me come to a fast stop with no warning and would not allow me to accelerate to the posted speed limit. This is very dangerous and it’s a common issues that ford will not take accountability for.
There has been a continuous oil leak from the oil pan since the vehicle was first purchased from the dealer. The manufacturer is aware of this issue and has issued a TSB for all vehicles from the Kansas and Detroit plants that are affected by a defective oil pan. The manufacturer is refusing to issue a recall despite the issue being wide spread and the dealership reporting that if left unfixed, the issue could result in loss of steering and could cause a serious accident. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership and instructions were given to contact the customer support center for the manufacturer. The manufacturer admitted to knowing about the defect and still refuses to issue a recall.
My 2017 Ford F150 STX with 3.5L Ecoboost engine was recently noted to have a leaking oil pan. I was told by my mechanic that the OEM plastic/composite Ford oil pans have a chronic problem with leaking seals. Replacing with another OEM pan is highly likely to result in another leak down the road. Replacement at my local dealer is in the range of $3,000.00. Even the service representative admitted that this was a recurring problem with these pans. I note that other TSBs have been issued for this problem. According to several Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), Ford F150 vehicles, particularly those with 2.7L EcoBoost engines, may experience oil pan leaks due to issues with the RTV sealant on the oil pan gasket, often requiring a replacement of the oil pan itself; this problem is most prevalent in models from 2015-2018, with TSB numbers like 19-2205 and 20-2051 referencing this issue.
Lug nuts swollen and unable to remove with provided equipment
My 2017 F150 is 7 years old with 80K mileage. Engine problem: Cold start ticking/tapping/rattle noise. Ford claimed it sent a letter in 2021 but I never received. Googled and found there are large amount of the same complaints on 2017-2020 F150 with 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The Cam Phaser / VCT Units will fail. Vehicles may not restart after auto-start-stop. Ford issued Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03 and Technical Service Bulletin TSB23-2143. Those measures are not enough. Ford should recall all 2017-2020 F150 with 3.5L Ecoboost built before Nov 30, 2019. Lug nuts at wheels: Ford used cheap two-piece nuts. All the nuts were swollen in Dec 2024 and could not be removed by myself. I had to drive my F150 to Quick Lane and paid $140 to get all the nuts replaced with one-piece nuts. An employee of Quick Lane told me Ford used cheap two-piece nuts for long time, and it's a common issue on some Ford vehicles. Image if a tire is flat on highway while the nuts are swollen and the flat tire can not be changed! Ford should recall all vehicles using the cheap two-piece nuts. I still keep the old nuts as an evidence.
Similar to the 10-14 f150 recall for the 6r80 transmission lead frame failure. Driving down the freeway at speeds of 50-70 in 6th gear truck has down shifted into first causing loss of control. Transmission then disengages entirely and loses power mid driving. After turning truck off and waiting, starting the truck it returns to normal. failing speed sensor and lead frame are the cause in this transmission from Ford called the 6R80 in year models 10-19 however recalls were only ever issues for the 10-14 generation for repairs of less than 10 years of age or 150,000 miles. My truck is the generation after, a 2017 model with 146,000 miles. Truck is currently at Ford for repairs and diagnostics. In the most recent event with the truck shifting from 6th gear to 1st yesterday I was in heavy traffic and when I lost control of truck I had to "sweep" to the side of road / ditch to avoid collision with vehicles behind and beside me at speeds of 65-75. I believe the year models 15-19 should be included on the existing recall if equiped with the 6 speed automatic transmission being the fact they were built and manufactured with the same failing parts before the current recall was put in place a few months ago according to online sources. Fortunately I was safe in all 3 incidents but yesterdays close call has forced my hand in "parking" the truck until Ford can repair any malfunctioning parts. If a recall is placed after my trucks repair it would be nice to have compensation for this bill. Truck has had scheduled maintenance including transmission on or before owners manual recommendations at designated Ford dealers other than oil and brake changes which I do myself at home. Please consider the 6R80 transmission as a point of recall for all models not just earlier generations as most of these trucks may not have the mileage yet needed to have serious mechanical failure. In which some failures can have trucks towing loads than can cause serious crash events.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Additionally, the contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the moon roof became inoperable. The contact attempted to engage the moon roof and became aware that the frame was fractured and failed to close properly. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.
The door locks freeze in the unlock state and doors will not close and lock. This is a recurring problem for several years. Door will not close and stay closed until the truck heats up.
DRIVERS DOOR AND PASSENGER DOOR FREEZES IN COLD WEATHER AND DOES NOT CLOSE COMPLETLY
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The power train failure warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated from 60 MPH to approximately 40–50 MPH. The contact stated that when the accelerator was depressed, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle jerked and hesitated to accelerate, but eventually started to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a CAM shaft sensor failure. The contact was informed that the CAM shaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with complete differential failure. The contact was informed that the differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
The truck will spontaneously downshift when driving. This creates a intense bang and vibration in the vehicle with an instantaneous speed change of vehicle. It's quite scary when it happens. I don't believe that it's any good for the drive shaft or rear end with such a sudden instantaneous transmission shift. I fear for additional damage it to the vehicle and the existing drivetrain when this occurs and could cause an accident if someone is following too close to the back of me when this happens.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle the contact heard a loud clanking noise with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the cam phasers had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

The original transmission was replaced due to hard shifting from 1-2 gear 3-4 gear when slowing down. I purchased a ford certified refurbished transmission and had the same issue with shifting from 1-2 and 3-4 gear. Ford replaced the parts under warranty. On both occasions I felt unsafe with staying in gear.
My 2017 Ford F-150 demonstrates every single aspect of an existing recall for 2017 F150 vehicles. However my VIN number is not included in the recall. My truck shifts suddenly in and out of gear causing me to have momentary instances of no power. This has happened, for example, turning left on busy roads with acceleration disappearing in critical moments. The vehicle downshifts suddenly on occasion. The gear indicator moves rapidly between gear 10 and gear 1. The vehicle routinely does not downshift to 1st gear at stoplights. The vehicle often shifts hard from gear to gear. The vehicle sometimes cannot go to the next gear, say from 7 to 8, and will be in some version of neutral during this time before finally connecting. Electronic issue plague this particular vehicle. All of these items have been noted in the existing recall. I am requesting an expansion of the recall to include all 2017 Ford F150's with 10 speed transmission. Ford dealer has indicated I need to replace the transmission for close to $10K. And they noted they see this problem constants - showing me a stack of folios in their repair facility for the same reason. The problem has been diagnosed by Ford dealer and an independent qualified transmission specialist shop This is an ongoing issue - per the questions below there is no specific date associated with the issue.
Cam phaser and timing chain is starting to go bad
Door latches freeze and doors will not shut.
I have the Ford F1 50 2017 model, 10 speed transmission. I about it new. In early December 2024 well on a road trip went down shifting the transmission started jerking, feeling like it was having trouble finding the correct gear. This continues to occur with subsequent driving of my vehicle. This was dangerous because it was occurring when trying to accelerate and pass other vehicles with a safe margin. This safety factor was definitely impaired. The speed was not properly controlled and the whole vehicle was jerking strongly. Luckily there were no oncoming vehicles but if there were this could have led to a head-on collision. Hesitancy to properly accelerate is extremely dangerous. Doing some research, I see that this problem was recognized by Ford in 2018 and memos to service departments were put out. I also saw that there is a 6 State class action lawsuit regarding exactly the same issue that has been issued against Ford Motor Company since approximately 2018. The lawsuit shows there have been numerous memos regarding this problem known about the Ford 10 speed transmission and not just in Ford F1 50s. I tried contacting Ford Motor Company and they said "your VIN number was not included in any recalls so you can only complain to the NHTSA". This is a known and dangerous problem that Ford motor company should issue a recall for and be responsible for repairing since it has been known since 2018 while all warrantees were still in force. My warranty is no longer in force, but Ford knew about this during the time of my warranty. I called the dealership at the time that it first occurred and they said that they had been fixing multiple transmission problems and they did get a warning memo at the time that it occurred. However I do not see any warnings on my Ford app. I also saw that in 2002 there was another class action suit against a different Ford transmission problem that was eventually settled in approximately 2008.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 25-75 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure first started, while depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle started making an abnormal grinding sound, and the AWD unintendedly disengaged. The contact stated that recently the vacuum system disengaged the AWD feature and caused the actuators to come together with the hub and engage while driving. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with integrated wheel end (IWE) system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. While the contact's son was driving 70 MPH, the transmission independently downshifted with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the rear wheels locked up and the vehicle skidded. The vehicle was taken to a nearby Dodge dealer and the computer was reset; however, the failure reoccurred 50 miles later. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with electrical components failure inside the transmission, and there were metal shavings inside the oil pan. The contact was informed that the transmission fluid, filter, and electrical components in the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
Driving down the road, truck started erratically shifting into 1st gear while going 55 mph on the highway. This was causing truck to jolt and drop speed quickly and was cause for a major safety issue on the highway. Cause was found to be the lead frame and dealer is replacing it this week. Transmission is the same as found in the 11-13 f150s with an active recall for the lead frame. Have found many others reporting this as an issue that happened to them between 60-120k miles. Mine happened at 60,200 miles. Wanted to report it for others safety on the road to extend the recall to the 15-17 series trucks with the same issues as the 11-13 f150s.
Trans is hard shifting and shaking.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, there was a loud rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, there was a loud noise coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired; however, the mechanic observed the rattling sound and associated the sound with the cam phaser. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Vehicle would downshift into 1st gear even at highway speeds locking tires up, sometimes would downshift into 3rd. At one time it caused truck to slide off into ditch hitting mailbox and a culvert. Was charged $2,000 for a new lead frame and months later back at ford with transmission failure where they say I’m responsible for full cost of transmission
My apologies, I sent prematurely, case number 11664674 is already open, but I wanted to add to it. My 2017 Ford F-150 with the 2.7L EcoBoost engine has experienced recurring coolant loss and is now showing signs of internal engine damage. I initially reported the issue to the Ford dealership in November 2024, but no issue was found. On May 23, 2025, the dealership told me I need a new engine. My independent mechanic suspects cracked intake valves or internal coolant intrusion — a known defect in the 2.7L EcoBoost engine. This appears to be the same issue identified in class action lawsuits and previous NHTSA complaints. I feel the vehicle is now undrivable due to my fear of imminent engine failure. My extended warranty expired in December 2023, but the problem started well before that with white smoke coming out of the tail pipe upon cold starting. I am requesting NHTSA investigate these recurring issues, as this appears to be a widespread and unsafe defect affecting multiple years of the Ford 2.7L EcoBoost engine. VIN: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Internal coolant leak issues leading to engine failure. Know defect publicly acknowledged by Ford as there is a class action lawsuit for the later models, but same engine (2.7L eco boost) My gauges do not register that my coolant is low or empty. I have taken it to the dealership twice in 6 months for the complaints of coolant loss. An independent mechanic suspects the same issues as the known defect leading to engine failure
Oil pan leaking, front oil pan leaking on RH. Valve covers failed for updated oil pan. RTD seal leak. Seen that this is a current recall. But my VIN isn't showing this recall. But I'm having this issue.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle began jerking and clunking. The message "See Owner’s Manual" was displayed. Additionally, the power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,650.
Ford had done a recall on the cam phasers for the ford raptor. The cam phasers were replaced by ford. Now we are having issues with them again just 3 years later and ford will not provide any assistance with repairs which cost around 5000 dollars to fix. We bought this truck 6 months ago. I don’t think it’s fair or possible for there to already be an issue as this part was only replaced 3 years ago.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the engine was making an abnormal rattling sound on cold starts, with an abnormal ticking sound while driving at various speeds. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to report the issue to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact referenced Ford Campaign Number: 21N03. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
The cam phaser broke down and would have destroyed the engine if left unattended. This could have led to the car breaking down in the middle of the road. Problem has been reproduce by Ford, this has happened with countless other trucks as well. The item has been fixed by Ford but costed $4000. there were no alarms, letting me know that this was happening, but there was a distinct sound when starting up my truck and accelerating my car. It made a rattling noise in the engine bay.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that during start-up, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. The rattling sound occurred while attempting to accelerate and the contact discovered that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of oil. While driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle started shaking and vibrating violently, with the check engine warning light blinking on and off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers were faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under an Extended Coverage for cam phaser failure. The failure mileage was 148,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while cold starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal amount of white smoke coming from the tail pipes with a burning odor outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was determined that the cylinder head was cracked, and either the cylinder head or the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
I am writing to express my concern regarding a recurring issue with the backup camera on my 2017 Ford F-150 Larit. Although my vehicle is not currently included in any official recall, it is experiencing the same symptoms reported in recalled models—reporting distorted images, blue screens or total failure that compromise visibility and safety. This issue has been increasingly problematic, especially given the importance of a functioning backup camera for safe maneuvering and compliance, my truck is experiencing the same backup camera defect and should be included in this recall. On November 4th, I spoke with representatives from Ford Customer Service and Ford Consumer Relations to inquire whether the repairs might be covered under Ford’s goodwill policy. Unfortunately, I was informed that they would not cover the cost. Despite this response, I respectfully request that Ford reconsider covering the cost of diagnosis and repair under a goodwill policy. I am a loyal Ford customer and have maintained my vehicle responsibly. I would appreciate the opportunity to resolve this issue without undue financial burden, especially given its safety implications. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and hope we can work together to ensure my vehicle remains safe and reliable.
Cam Phaser Rattle and engine ticking noise. No check engine lights illuminated.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that an abnormal rattling sound came from the engine compartment upon starting the vehicle. The contact stated that after the engine had warmed up, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the cam phasers. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
This first began when we went to Oregon from dry Central Valley in California and hit rain. Multiple error messages appeared: Service Advance Trac, Check 4x4, Hill Assist Not Available, ABS, Steering Assist Fault, etc. Power steering assist was lost and is now intermittent which creates a dangerous situation. The ABS brakes made load groaning noises. I went to O’Reilley’s and used their OBD2 scanner. It showed codes: U1012-00, U0212-00, U0121-00, P062C-00, all being communication errors. I got a new battery and had a shop scan it. The clockspring was bad so it was replaced with an OEM from Sunrise Ford. He can’t get any communication with any of the other modules. I researched the issues and disconnected the battery while I cleaned the ABS controller connection with electrical contact cleaner. I checked some of the grounding points that weren’t checked by the shop. All of the error messages are now gone except the STEERING ASSIST FAULT. My research showed that this may be related to a wheel speed sensor or the front hub that contains the sensor. It also might be the ABS controller. I entered Engineering Test Mode and have the following continuous DTCs: C40182, C12100, C41582, C42082, C15100, C21200, C42982, C10200. Since they all end in 00 or 82 I think they are likely related. I was told in an online forum that they are communication errors. I think that might apply to the 00 errors, but don’t know about the 82 errors. The truck has under 28,000 miles and the extended warranty expired in May 2024.
My engine had cam phasers problems prior to the release of the recall (found here [XXX] ). Approximately 50,000 miles later the problem happened again because the new phasers were the same faulty design as the old ones. The recall fixes the issue with a new design phasers. However due to the way it's worded, Ford refuses to repair my vehicle. There should be a new recall extending the time frame and mileage. Mileage should also be counted between repairs. When using the cruise control and going down hills, the transmission will unexpectedly downshift into one or more lower gears causing the rear wheels to chirp or actually slide on wet pavement. it only seems to happen when using the cruise control for some reason.
