Unknown my truck was running rough so took it to shoo they ran the codes told me CPS camshaft position sensor bank 2 was coding so replaced all 4 sensors but was still having issues and then truck started having a rattle but not all the time it would come and go then the shop said replace spark plugs so I did then rattle got worse but would go away when came to stop sign. During all of this I was using alot of oil 1 qt about every 3000 to 5000 miles then the truck started having noisy start up that went away after couple seconds loss of power poor fuel economy and the rattle was more constant oil levels checked daily and were good but yesterday the day after an oil.change and my truck lost power when depressed the gas pedal I continued to lose speed and then it stalled going down the highway and the Orange wrench showed up on the dash and my truck won't start

While driving my 2018 Ford F150, the wrench light along with the error “Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power” came on and the vehicle immediately went into “limp” mode. Luckily, I was able to safely pull over and get to the closest residence. After being towed to a Ford dealership, I learned the transmission had failed. Of course, out of the 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty. 85,000 miles and need a new transmission. I’ve seen too many complaints of this situation with others, shame on Ford for not rectifying the situation and making it right. Clearly there’s an issue with the 2017-2020 ish year range F150’s.

When starting the engine there is a loud rattle for a few seconds. After research there seems to be other Ford recalls related to the cam phasers that were recalled in other models but I believe the series or production line when mine was produced should be added as well. I have talked to Ford service already and spoke with a customer advocate. My case number is [XXX] Thank you [XXX] C [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
Master Brake Cylinder leaked brake fluid into brake booster resulting in complete loss of brakes. Warning light displayed low break fluid moments before complete loss of braking power, +/- 60 seconds before all breaking power was lost. Certain 2018 Ford F-150's currently qualify for this recall but my specific model does not. Reports online show many other's experience same issue with this 2018 model.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while cold starting the vehicle, the engine was making a grinding noise and the vehicle was vibrating abnormally. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The failure was a recurring failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 - Cam Phaser Replacement (Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The Starter on my 2018 Ford F150 XTR (XLT trim to be sold new in Canada) with the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine failed @ only 46,000 miles. I have done my own auto repair for years, and have replaced a few failed or failing starters, none of which were @ less than 100,000 miles. After a little research, I found out that Ford "created" their Coyote engine with the Auto Stop/Start feature as a fuel economy measure to satisfy USEPA. However, this resulted in a several orders of magnitude increase in the number of starts within any given time frame (say, over the course of a year) and, since Ford did not re-design the starter to account for this radical increase in the sheer number of starts, starters are failing early. Mine failed @ 46,000 miles, and I've read multiple online posts from owners of this engine that had to replace the starter, one as early as 27,000. Check out owner comments @: [XXX] I should NOT have been required to pay for Ford Motor Company's design FAILURE. Respectfully, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Transmission failed at 59k miles while driving on the road. Shifting unexpectedly from 7th to 1st gear, complete loss of power at speed. This is due to the well known CDF clutch drum failure for which Ford has issued several TSBs. This needs to be a recall. Very dangerous.

The transmission in these Ford Trucks has a failed bushing that allows fluid to escape the drum used to operate the three overdrive clutches. It causes the truck to suddenly stall, lurch forward unexpectedly, and it poses a major safety risk . Trucks with this issue can suddenly lose power at highway speeds causing traffic accidents.
My truck stopped in the middle of an intersection and would not crank again. The fuel pump had exploded on the inside and metal shavings were found all throughout my fuel system. The cost to repair my truck was $ 11,867.60 plus tax. From what I have been told, this is an ongoing problem that occurs with this specific fuel pump. I was told from the service manager at the dealership that he sees this problem all the time. I was told from the claim adjuster that this is a problem with all Ford and Chevrolet trucks with diesel engines that use this specific fuel pump. I believe this should be a recall since it is a problem with any diesel that not only Ford but Chevrolet makes. I did file this with my insurance company but it was not covered. My claim # with Farm Bureau is 10000600403. My case # with Ford is CXH-02697972-W5T6Y4. Ford did end up covering half of the cost to repair but I still believe that it should be a recall. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after stopping the vehicle, the vehicle would not immediately restart. Also, while at a stoplight with the Auto START/STOP feature activated, the vehicle did not immediately restart after depressing the brake pedal, and the vehicle had to be jump-started. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who indicated that there was no issue with the battery and was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 102,602.
I was driving, I looked down because my truck was unresponsive, my truck had died, a warning light had come on stating the following: "Auto Start/Stop Shift to P, then Restart Engine". I was on the interstate, in a two lane construction zone, I had to pull over into the construction area, stop my truck, and try and restart. After a minute or two, I was able to restart my truck and re-enter the road way. A very dangerous situation, luckily I did not have my children in the vehicle at the time. I scheduled a service appointment after this and was told it was the fuel pump control module. Unfortunately, it has happened twice since my service appointment... something needs to me done!
Truck keeps slipping in and out of gear. Will go from 10 speed to 1 and slip. Transmission slips and changes gears. Slips in all gears, hard shifting. was a recall before with this year and transmission and VIN does not show a recall now.

10R80 transmission can cause life threatening issues due to harsh shifting, jerking, hesitation, and slipped gears. Transmission can unexpectedly shift in to neutral while in motion which could cause a crash, and will not speed up at times when needing to accelerate. Ford will not issue a recall on this defect resulting in several class actions. Ford service is still charging up to $10,000 to repair the defect despite being aware of this defect since 2017. Multiple technical service bulletins have been issued by Ford, but no recall despite presenting a real danger to drivers of the affected vehicles. Ford did recall 2021 models of this vehicle for the same exact reason, but will not recall the earlier models posing the same danger. My vehicle is currently in with the Ford service department after doing everything listed above while driving, and Ford has informed me it needs a $9,500 repair to the transmission due to this defect.
Twelve months ago I took my truck in for service and was informed that the rear lug nuts were compressed and needed to be replaced. I did so and paid over $130. Yesterday, I again took my vehicle in for service and was informed that the front lug nuts were compressed and paid $141 plus labor to have those replaced. Dealer indicated that this was a common issue found on Ford F-150 vehicles. When I asked if there was a recall on the lug nuts, the service manager said, "No, but there should be." I find it unusual that lug nuts have this type of problem.....I have been driving for 53 years and always have my tires regularly rotated and balanced and have never in the past been told the lug nuts had failed and required replacement. Have you had other complaints regarding Ford lug nut compression?

I on a trip [XXX] round trip is about 332 miles. I had approximately 42 miles to go and the truck speed was reduced and it started to jerk. This is the second trip over two hundred miles and the same thing happened. have extended warranty insurance but I can’t get any one to accept it here in Cleveland, Mississippi. I really think this truck is a lemon. I purchased it last year in November and it’s been giving me problems ever since then. I don’t have money to just give away on something that is not worth it. I even went to the dealer where I bought the truck and asked him if I could swap out for another truck and he told me he couldn’t do it. When I checked on car fax it just shows that this truck had 126 ,000miles on it. But at the dealership it showed 149,000miles.So it only showed history for 126,000 and less. I don’t know the history of the 23,000 miles that’s not accounted for. I want my money back or a reliable truck that has no problems with it. Cam phaser noise, replaced already at 29000 miles and failed again at 78000 miles, Ford had a Program 21N03 to replace phasers, but expired Jan 2023, was informed this morning by ford dealer. >$4000 to replace a know design issue on these phasers. believe there is a new design but Ford will not warranty the change per 21N03 program. When called Ford customer care, no program available to support a change and rep could not give me assurances if the vehicle is safe to drive. I do not think this is acceptable given a know design issue on this engine.

2018 F-150 STX with 103,000 miles, never towed anything whatsoever. I purchased the truck brand new. I have all the maintenance records and have kept up with the truck. The transmission should not be going out this early. Ford dealership states transmission is slipping severally at 5th and 8th gear. If the transmission failed with my family in it on the interstate it could have caused a fatal accident.
10 speed transmission is defective. Vehicle would not shift when going from a stop and almost caused several accidents when entering flow of traffic from a side street.
My vehicle currently has roughly 53k miles on it and I have owned for less than 6 months. Purchasing it around 45k miles. I noticed shortly after purchasing it bucked and jerked when I was stopping around 20-30 mph. This happens constantly. There has also been a steady grinding noise coming from the transmission. I recently serviced the vehicle except for the transmission and it continues to buck and the grinding has become worse.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while leaving a parking space, the power steering functionality became inoperable. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the failure was due to the steering actuator. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The 2-piece oil pan system leaks. On Ford’s 3.5L V6 motor, a two piece oil pan is known for commonly leaking. The source of the leak is between the plastic oil pan and the aluminum upper oil pan. Over time with the oil heating and coiling this causes the pans to heat and expand at different rates causing gasket failure around the attachment bolts. This is extremely common among these motors. The safety of the at risk operators and passengers comes into play when you consider the oil leak is captured by a steal skid plate where the oil accumulates over time. If enough oil is present and enough heat from the exhaust reaches the waist oil, a fire could start. The only way a vehicle owner would know there is a leak is if they do their own maintenance or have a good mechanic that does the oil changes. The skid plate captures the oil and prevents it from reaching the ground where a puddle would be noticed. This issue has been known and a repair process is put out by Ford already due to the number of issues with this. My vehicle has not been inspected No warning lamps are illuminated. I notice the leak when doing my own vehicle maintenance. It took me a while, but I was able to trace the leak back to the mounting bolts and researching the problem confirmed my suspicions.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was idling, the contact’s husband shifted from the park to drive and discovered that the brake pedal had extended to the floor while depressed. Later while driving approximately 25 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal extended to the floor and the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that the parking brake was used to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was later examined by and independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake master cylinder was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Cam phaser failure.
i WAS CROSSING A DIVIDED HIGHWAY FROM A SIDE STREET AND WHEN I GOT ACROSS AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE IN THE LANE THE TRUCK WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. I WAS DEAD IN THE LANE WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMING UP FROM BEHIND. A CAR HAD TO LOCK ITS BRAKES TO NOT HIT ME. i PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF, RESTARTED IT AND IT SEEMED TO WORK OK UNTIL ABOUT 10 MILES LATER WHEN DRIVING AT 55 USING CRUSE CONTROL THE TRUCK SUDDENLY DROPPED FROM 10TH GEAR TO 2 GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. i HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY GARAGE AND THEY SAY IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE THING IS THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 61K MILES ON IT.

The vehicle was stopped, preparing to make a left-hand turn at a four-way intersection, in Drive with my foot on the brake. I had manually pressed the button to disable the "Auto Start-Stop" feature earlier in this trip, and the light was on indicating that feature was still disabled. While stopped, the vehicle's engine suddenly shut off. On the dashboard, the informational cluster indicated "Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine" with the logo for that feature (An "A" in a looped arrow icon) showing below. I shifted to Neutral and restarted the vehicle with no issue - at which time the warning messages went away - and continued the drive without further incident. I have not been able to reproduce the issue, yet. I was in the vehicle with my 1-year-old son in his car seat, preparing to make a left turn across oncoming traffic when the vehicle shut itself off, placing us at considerable potential risk. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, a dealer, etc. as of yet but I will be bringing it to a Ford dealership as soon as I can. I have included an example photo of the same error I saw, taken from an internet forum. This is not my truck, but is the identical warning message to the one I saw.
