Truck was taken in for cam phasers issues multiple times and said was covered under 21n03. Ford won’t say why other than it doesn’t fall in serial number break. 21n03 says there is no sn distinction just has to be made at these plants which mine was. I have been lied to multiple times by ford and have come to them with new information and still told they won’t even look at case because I have been denied once already. I had to pay 5k out of pocket and cam phasers are now failing again within 90days. Ford is a joke and doesn’t stand behind what they build. (I AM NOW FULLY AWARE) FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS NOT TAKEN THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS OR REMEDIES FOR CONSUMERS THAT OWN THEIR PRODUCT TO GET THIS FIXED BEFORE A SERIOUS/DEADLY INCIDENT OCCURS *MAY YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS EXTREME KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE AT TIMES I FEAR FOR MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND EVEN THE DRIVING COMMUNITY FOR THEIR SAFETY BECAUSE OF WHAT MY TRUCK MAY DO OR NOT DO WHILE I AM DRIVING THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE IN OUR PUBLIC ROADWAYS/HIGHWAYS. Rear backup camera intermittently fails or displays blank, dark and distorted image when vehicle is in reverse, creating a safety hazard and increasing risk of collision. Occurs when shifting into reverse and creates safety risk for pedestrians, children, cyclists and property. Similar F-150's are already under recall for this same issue, even 2019 F-150 models.

When driving on the highway going any speed. The car feels like it goes into neutral and the rpm goes up while I’m going to the speed limit but the car just cruises and it won’t pick up speed. Then it feels like it communicates again and it starts to work
Was told today my 2019 Ford f1500 needs “cam fazer” replacement. Cost $4300! Internet makes it sound like ALL 3.5L eco boost engines have/will have this problem. There’s a couple “field service bulletins” on it, but mines not included.
Transmission holds shifts and shifts erratically. Vehicle will stall and not excellerate leading to dangerous situations. CDF drum failure.
When drive at low speed the gears on the truck shift hard between 3 and 4th.
Transmission issues. Had to do a complete replacement of transmission. Drum broke at 120,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power while depressing the accelerator pedal, and hesitated while accelerating after a complete stop. The contact stated that occasionally the check engine warning light illuminated, and the dipstick was checked, and the engine oil was low. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and an oil and oil filter change was performed as part of an oil consumption test. On the next visit for an oil change, the dealer discovered that the engine was consuming a quart of engine oil between oil changes. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the engine was consuming three quarts of engine oil between oil changes. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer ,where a diagnostic was performed, and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the engine failure and the manufacturer spoke with the dealer about the repair. The contact was later informed that the manufacturer would not assist with the cost of replacing the engine. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. Recently, while driving 15 MPH and towing a trailer, the electric power steering assist failed and the messages "Steering Assist Fault", Traction Control" and "ABS Fault" were displayed. The contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle back to the residence. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and was diagnosed with a defective rack and pinion. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
Cam Phasers were recalled on some 2019 Ford F150 3.5 Ecoboost motor. Ours is having the same issues as others that were recalled but we were never notified of the recall and it doesn't show up for our VIN. Why would it not be on all 2019 Ford F150 3.5 EcoBoost motor?
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the transmission upshifted from first gear to fifth gear unexpectedly. The transmission was slamming into gear while driving at slow and high speeds. The accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle stopped. There was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The check Owner’s Manual message was displayed. There was no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). Automatic transmission shifting very harsh and lags at times. When pulling onto or across the highway from a stop the transmission will lag and will almost stop between gears posing the risk of a being struck from behind or from the side by other vehicles. At highway speed the transmission will show it as being in 10th gear but will suddenly act as if in neutral and the gear inductor light shows 4th gear or lower and as if all pulling power is lost. This has happened on a couple of different occasions causing me to have to either merge to the emergency lane on the interstate or look for a potential pull off on secondary roads. When this happened with other vehicles following it puts you in fear of being struck from behind especially if you are unable to immediately get to the shoulder of the road or a safe pull off. The warning light has illuminated when this happens. Ford is able to look it up on the computer remotely and tell that there are issues with the shifting sequence. According to the local dealer this problem is only fixable by replacing the transmission. This problem seems to be a known problem to many others as well as the ford dealerships and in my opinion poses a huge safety concern for not only the driver and any passengers in the vehicle but also other nearby drivers. These problems occur with various speeds and driving conditions.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the transmission experienced hard shifting while changing gear. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission CDF Drum had failed, and the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 60,000.
The steering started to ‘jump’ upon making a turn. Upon inspection it has been determined that the steering column needs to be replaced for safety and vehicle function. We have less than 82,000 miles on the vehicle. It has been inspected by our mechanic and replacement part has been ordered (takes up to 5 days to receive).
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the vehicle started to lose motive power. The contact stated that the transmission was shifting incorrectly, and the vehicle lost power to the rear wheels. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was driven to a dealer and was pending a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
My F150 shifts hard through the gears sometimes. It's real clunky, loud and shuddering. Sometimes it shifts suddenly causing rapid acceleration or down shifts just as hard causing sudden deceleration. In traffic this is a dangerous situation, such as merging lanes. Not only is it uncomfortable and probably bad for parts. It's dangerous and not Ford tough like they advertise.
This truck still 50.000 miles but transmission failed this is unbelievable Ford should cover it there is tons of people complaining the same issue
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power while accelerating. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the transmission fluid was previously flushed; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Engine Consumes approximately 4qts of oil every 5000 miles. Rachet sound from engine when let off the gas. Popping/Cracking/Rattling sound coming from behind firewall when accelerating at low RPM's (1500-2000).
2019 ford f150 TRANSMMITION ISSUES SHIFTING HARD and down shifting when driving down the road, there has been a TSB issued but i was never notified about it
Every morning I go to work and I let the engine idle down before moving as soon as I start driving gears 3 and 4 shift so hard it sometimes lunges me forward. Also just Saturday 9/15/24 I was driving with my kids in the truck and same thing gears were fine till I hit 3rd then a long pause I definitely felt the loss of momentum and then bam slams into 4th.
WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVING THE TRUCK SLAMMED FROM FOURTH GEAR INTO FIRST EXTREAMLY HARD.
Truck will stall and error will pop on screen stating “Auto StartStop Shift to P, then restart engine”. It does this when at a stop or slowing down to come to a stop or turning causing a huge saftey issue.
The contact's son owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving 75 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear, causing the vehicle to slow abruptly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and restarted, but the vehicle was jerking abnormally while shifting gear. The vehicle was taken to the residence where the contact's son observed condensation under the middle of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.
At low speeds my transmission will down shift to the point my truck feels likes it’s nose diving then kicks into the higher gear hard before correcting its self into the correct gear. I am getting nowhere with any dealer besides if I don’t have the transmission recall then it’s on me to pay for the fix. I don’t truly feel that is fair at all to me with still making a monthly payment.
The vehicle was purchased brand new from a Ford dealership in 2019 in Virgina. Later, a service bulletin was released by Ford for a "cold start rattle" and cam phaser failure through the ford pass app and by mail. This service bulletin extended the warranty on the cam phaser parts to cover up to 100% of the cost to fix the vehicle. At that time, due to being a military family we had moved to Florida and never received the service bulletin in the mail. After reviewing the service bulletin for the vehicle on the ford pass app, it was taken to a Ford dealership in Miami to be inspected. The Ford Miami dealership did not think there was a cam phaser issue with the vehicle at that time and refused to fix vehicle. Ultimately, the vehicle was taken back to a Ford dealership in Ohio to have it reinspected for the same issue (The cold start rattle/Cam Phaser). The Ford Dealership assessed the vehicle and stated, it in fact has the known issues with the Cam Phaser failure. The vehicle is under the mileage for the service bulletin. However, Ford is unwilling to fix the vehicle due to exceeding the date of the service bulletin. This issue puts my safety and others on the road at risk, because if the cam phaser is not fixed the motor of the vehicle will fail and could potentially cause serious injury or death. The vehicle is not safe to drive at this time. This problem has been confirmed by a Ford Dealership and the vehicle is currently sitting at the dealership awaiting to be fixed. There are no warning lights on the vehicle for this issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION); and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer for the recall repair. The contact stated that shortly after the vehicle was repaired the vehicle experience electrical failures. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the navigation system and radio became inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated that at whatever volume level the radio was set to, the level remained until the vehicle was turned off and restarted. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the APIM Controller was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired twice; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the transmission began slipping out of gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The manufacturer was contacted, who referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000. The VIN was not available.
*THE COMPONENT IN QUESTION IS THE TRANSMISSION "10R80". *AT RISK IS THAT TRUCK STOPS OR LOSES SPEED IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGERS WHEN GOING THRU A 4 WAY STOP AND TRUCK ALMOST COMES TO A STOP BECAUSE IT HAS NO SPEED AND HAVE ENCOUNTERD CLOSE CALLS TO BE HIT OR T BONED BY OTHER VEHICLES. *THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ON ONGOING DISPUTE WITH CONSUMERS AND FORD ABOUT THE EXTREME PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION THAT INCLUDE HARSH SHIFTING, JERKING,HESITATION, CONSTANT SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTS,DIFFICULTY SHIFTING GEARS, AND EVEN AN OCCASIONAL LOSS OF POWER WHILE IN MOTION. OTHER DESCRIPTIONS THAT I EXPERIENCE IS NOTICEABLE LURCHES DURING GEAR CHANGES *I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND I WAS FULLY UNAWARE OF IT PROBLEMS NOR WAS IT MENTIONED TO ME BY THE USED CAR SALESMAN AND MANAGER THAT THEY HAD A TRUCK IN THEIR LOT WITH EXTREME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *AT FIRST PURCHASED ([XXX]) THERE WAS NO WARNING SIGNS BUT MAYBE AFTER A MONTH OR SO IS WHEN THE TRUCK SHOWED A "WRENCH" SYMBOL ON THE DASH AS TO SHOW THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. BUT SOMEHOW IT RESETS EVERYTIME YOU TURN OFF TRUCK AND RESTART AS IF SHOWING NO PROBLEM EXISTS. I HAVE LEARNED TO DEAL WITH IT SINCE THAN BUT NOW IT IS JUST GETTING WORSE. *I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I AM NOT READY TO PAY FOR A PROBLEM THAT (I AM NOW FULLY AWARE) FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS NOT TAKEN THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS OR REMEDIES FOR CONSUMERS THAT OWN THEIR PRODUCT TO GET THIS FIXED BEFORE A SERIOUS/DEADLY INCIDENT OCCURS *MAY YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS EXTREME KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE AT TIMES I FEAR FOR MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND EVEN THE DRIVING COMMUNITY FOR THEIR SAFETY BECAUSE OF WHAT MY TRUCK MAY DO OR NOT DO WHILE I AM DRIVING THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE IN OUR PUBLIC ROADWAYS/HIGHWAYS. Transmission slippage while accelerating to speed. Started with 3rd gear going into 4th, now it's almost all of the gears. I've almost been rear-ended 3 times because of slippage
Driving down the road at roughly 40 mph and the truck shifts down to 1st gear locking the rear brakes up. Was told by ford dealership was a faulty transmission it needed to be replaced for $8,400. No lights on or warning before it happened.
Transmission shift rough, driving down the road shifts down to first gear, and sometimes does shift into 3rd-4th gear going down the and basically stops me in the middle of traffic until it finally decides to shift. I brought it to ford the first they said the transmission computer needed to be reset, so they did that and it was even worse when I left the parking lot. So I called them the next morning, and they told me to bring it back in that's when they told me my transmission needed to be replaced for $8,000 When I started doing research I found this is a common problem with this certain transmission i called ford corporation and the lady proceeded to tell me they are aware of the issue with this transmission and they are working on a remedy for the issue but they were only willing to pay for half of the cost. But if they know there is a issue(a safety issue) with this transmission then why not fix it for me. Ford 10r80 transmission
The contact owned a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his son was driving approximately 25-35 MPH, the steering function failed, and the vehicle veered to the right. The driver attempted to turn to the left, but the steering was inoperable. The vehicle went over a curb and crashed into two mailboxes. There were no reported injuries or fires. The air bag warning was illuminated, but the air bag cover detached, and the air bag failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering). The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The contact called the local dealer, who informed him there was no recall coverage. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who opened a case and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 58,814.
Transmission started making a loud noise and jerking the truck. Tachometer was showing engine rpm increasing rapidly and dropping back several hundred revolutions; gear indicator didn't change (higher or lower) indicating a gear change. Transmission temperature was running approx. 205F however would increase to 230F when the transmission would make noise multiple times. Vehicle took extra effort to control while this was happening both on an Interstate highway and secondary roads. Coming out of the mountains I had to use the brakes more than usual due to the jerking around and stopped when they experienced brake fade and I could smell them. Pic attached. Stopped later and had engine codes read with a OBD reader at auto parts store; no codes or warning lights. This is the 10R80E 10 speed transmission. Called local transmission shop and Ford dealer. Local transmission shop rep said that they have replaced several and currently have 2 in the shop now with the similar issue, explained the recurring problems with this transmission, suggested I could Google it and recommended a reman with the now upgraded/updated parts to correct the original design flaws. CDF drum, valve body and something else. The reman cost versus rebuild are about the same, reman has a better warranty than the trans shop could offer. Local Ford dealer provided "ballpark" estimate of $10K to repair or replace transmission. The vehicle has 78,000 miles on it so out of warranty. Regarding whether or not my safety was at risk, I would have to say yes due to the fact that the truck was harder to control when the transmission was jerking the vehicle around since it happened with no warning. It also happens at any speed and engine rpm, high or low doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm a certified Emergency Vehicle Operator, small to large apparatus so better experienced to deal with unexpected vehicle failures than many drivers. This was a serious problem causing significant drivability/control issues.
Western NY, driving on Interstate 86 during a heavy rain, windshield wipers failed. They initially quit working making visibility impossible. Crawled to rest area on shoulder of highway with flashers going. Planned on spending night in truck until daybreak. Eventually rain lightened up, turned truck and wipers on once again. At first, they twitched every few seconds. Eventually, they wiped one cycle, very, very slowly every 5+ seconds. Occasionally starting and stopping.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving between fourth and fifth gear, the vehicle experienced hard transmission shifts. The contact stated that the failure increased progressively while driving. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and exceeding 4th gear, the vehicle experienced an unintended transmission downshift to first gear, and the engine revved to 5000-6000 RPMs even though the accelerator pedal was released. Additionally, the rear wheels locked up. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road and parked the vehicle. The contact was able to resume driving; however, the failure recurred several times while driving. The power train warning light was illuminated, and the message "Transmission Failure - See Dealer" was displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to respond upon shifting in reverse(R). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the TCM was rebooted; however, the failure increased. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE25002(Power Train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that only a third of the repair fee would be covered; however, the manufacturer later denied any assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
Mileage at time was 39,000 miles, On 8/29/2024. I was driving to when my check engine light came on. FORD dealer checked the check engine light and said I have a P0022 code which is the Right bank cam solenoid is sticking. This condition, after looking into it, has been a problem with vehicles built in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle hesitated, and the gear shifter became inoperable. Purchased Dec 4, 2019; followed maintenance requirements through BO Beukcman Quality Ford. Oil changes made IAW Ford guidelines every 5000 miles. Oil change was made Nov 23, 2023 at 49,504 miles. Just before next oil change noticed engine knocking on acceleration/deceleration with intermittent check engine light on. Oil changed at 54,226 miles (Aug 22, 2024). Condition mentioned to dealer. Dealer advised engine was consuming oil. There was no visible sign of leaks. Fix -- install new dip stick, reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Rationale: Ford TSB 19-2365 Dec 5, 2019 quoted as follows: oil consumption "may be due to high intake manifold vacuum during some deceleration fuel shut off (DFSO) events resulting in oil being pulled into the combustion chamber from the crankcase, valve guides and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV)". Supposedly reprogramming would reduce engine vacuum during DFSO events (note: I noticed knocking on acceleration). At the dealership inquired why Ford did not advise customers of condition. They could not answer my question. My F-150 is a 5.0L V8 and was described by dealer as a Coyote engine. I asked if they had similar maintenance events like mine; answer - yes. I was disappointed; have owned previous F-150s and none "consumed" oil like this -- my previous truck had 150,000+ miles -- no oil burning. The dealer instructed me to bring the vehicle back every 1000 miles to check dipstick for consumption. Returned vehicle to dealer at 55,626 and 56,700 miles. On returns, consumption was noted; they topped off my oil with instruction to return again at 57,626 (current mileage 57,435 miles) This is inconvenient and poses a safety risk to me and perhaps others through engine degradation/failure especially while driving. Believe Ford owes the cunsumer a permanent engine fix. Vehicle is available for inspection NHTSA.
