The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while exiting a car wash and parking the vehicle, he noticed a puddle of water on the front passenger’s side floorboard. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the overload pipe to be replaced with a longer part. The vehicle was repaired but experienced the failure a month later. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the overload pipe to be replaced a second time. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated in January 2023 while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated he began to hear an abnormal sound. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the driver’s side catalytic convertor to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure, three months later. The contact took the vehicle to the back local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the passenger’s side catalytic convertor to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated on June 10, 2023, he noticed an oil leak in the rear passenger’s side tire. The contact took the vehicle to another local dealer: AutoNation Ford Arlington [XXX] : [XXX] ) where it was diagnosed with needing the rear passenger’s side axle to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I got the truck with 10,00 miles and currently have 47,000 miles. I have been having oil burning issues since the beginning, but it has gotten worse. When I was adding the oil myself before having the dealership do it I was having to add almost 4 qts per 5-6 thousand miles. I have been taking it to the dealership every 1000 miles for oil consumption test. Typically, my oil burns over 1/2 qt per 1000 miles so the dealership claims. I have also claimed about harsh shifting and clunking noises. Most recently I took it in for the harsh shifting of the transmission and 4 wheel drive while the did the oil test. They reflashed the transmission and topped off the oil. The dealership then forgot to put the oil cap back on (I didn't think I had to check their work) the next day after a short drive there was oil all over my engine, electrical systems, battery, suspension and underbody because of the missing cap. They took the truck back and then claimed only a 1/2 qt was gone. The dealership after a few days tells me it is all cleaned and ready to go. I got the truck with oil all over the place. So they keep the truck yet again, few days later I get the truck back and my truck is shifting worse in some ways now than before the flash. Today I had to take the truck in for an engine light about the catalytic converter failing. While they had the truck there it then gave a bunch of codes of powertrain body control all related to lack of power and powertrain failure. displaying a bunch of red lights including a gear wrench on the instrument cluster. These only appeared after the tech scan the first code. The dealership now has my truck yet again and have said it will be at least a few days.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while at the gas station the pump nozzle failed to go into the fuel filler neck correctly. The contact stated that the flap opened but the pump nozzle failed to fit as needed. The contact drove to another gas station to locate a pump nozzle that would fit into the fuel filler neck. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 140.
My Ford F-150 is a ten-gear truck. For the past several months, my truck gears don't shift, won't stay in gear, and most recently, won't go into gear i.e. I couldn't put my truck in reverse. As I'm driving, I will experience loud bangs and shudders randomly and without warning. My car has 70k miles on it, has not been in an accident, and has been regularly maintained. I took my card to the Ford dealership to address the issue and was told it had to do with a computer issue. Whatever they did has made it worse. I know there is a class-action lawsuit pending over this very issue in Pennsylvania (I live in California) and my truck is no longer safe to drive, as I fear it will slip into gear and possibly cause an accident.

OUR BRAND NEW 2019 FORD F150 WAS HAVING SHIFTING PROBLEMS. VERY ROUGH SHIFT FROM 5 TO 6TH ETC. CLUNKY. CALLED DEALER. WAS TOLD IT WOULD "EVEN OUT" DRIVING FROM TX TO GA IT ONLY GOT WORSE. DEALERSHIP IN GA SAYS IT WAS SHIPPED LOW OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. IT IS A CLOSED SYSTEM, SO THEY SAID IT HAD TO BE SHIPPED FROM THE FACTORY LOW. WE DROVE 5500 MILES WITH A TRANSMISSION THAT WAS 2 QTS LOW AND GOT NO ERRORS, LIGHTS OR NOTIFICATIONS. WE PICKED UP THE TRUCK ON OCT 10, 2020. IT STILL FELT VERY CLUNKY, SO WE TRIED IN NOVEMBER AND EARLY DECEMBER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. THEY COULD NOT GET A LOANER ETC. IT WAS NOT SERVICED A SECOND TIME AT THIS POINT. ON DEC 24TH AROUND, WE WERE DRIVING DOWN I 20 GOING ROUGHLY 70MPH. THANKFULLY, MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO FEEL ROUGHER ON SHIFTING ( IT IS AN AUTOMATIC) SUDDENLY, THE TRUCK LUNGES LIKE WE PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND IT SHIFTED FROM 10TH GEAR TO FIRST, HE KNEW TO PUT INTO NEUTRAL AND GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE NEAREST EXIT AND DROVE HOME ABOUT 4 MILES VERY SLOWLY. BECAUSE IT WOULD JERK VERY HARD IF IT GOT TO 5TH GEAR AND TRIED TO GO TO 6. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS DUE TO THE HOLIDAY, THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO FORD WHO NOW SAY IT IS TOO FULL ON TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WE WOULD HAVE CRASHED IF I WERE DRIVING. THE SUDDEN STOP AND SUDDEN GEAR CHANGE ONLY MAGNIFIED THE PROBLEMS WE WERE HAVING ALREADY WITH THE TRUCK. THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF SIMILAR ISSUES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. FORD NEEDS TO DO A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was a rattling sound coming from the top of the engine. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the cam phasers were faulty, and a software update was performed. The failure was temporarily resolved; however, the failure recently reoccurred. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the recent failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 15,000.
I WAS USING CRUISE CONTROL ON A FLAT HIGHWAY AND MY 2019 FORD F150 STALLED. ALMOST EVERYTHING SHUT OFF (COULDN'T ACCELERATE, MAIN DISPLAY SCREEN WENT DARK, DASHBOARD WENT DARK, AND AFTER A FEW SECONDS MY HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF AS WELL). LUCKILY I SAFELY PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY WHERE THE ONLY THING THAT REMAINED "ON" WAS A MESSAGE SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT TRANSMISSION NOT BEING IN PARK. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, REMOVING THE KEYS, THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 25K MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. A SIMILAR INCIDENT OCCURRED IN A PARKING LOT WHEN I HAD 300 MILES ON IT BUT THE ERROR MESSAGE WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT. THAT TIME IT TOOK 10 MINUTES TO GET THE CAR UP AND RUNNING. THE ISSUE IS INFREQUENT AND IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLICATE BUT HAVING A BRAND NEW CAR SHUT OFF FOR NO REASON IS DANGEROUS AND AGGREVATING.
THE HEADLAMP SEALS BROKE. THE HEADLAMPS HAVE CONDENSATION IN THEM DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER OR AFTER A CAR WASH.THIS MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THE CONDENSATION REFRACTS THE LIGHT REDUCING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE HEADLAMPS TO ILLUMINATE THE ROAD. I ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES FROM COLORADO TO TEXAS DRIVING AT NIGHT DUE TO THIS ISSUE. FORD MAINTAINS THAT CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLAMPS IS NORMAL AND REFUSES TO REPAIR THEM UNDER WARRANTY. THEY HAVE OFFERED TO ASSIST ME WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO REPAIR THE HEADLAMP, WHICH IS AN ADMISSION OF FAULT. YET, FORD EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR DEFECTIVE HEADLAMPS. I HAVE LOCATED SEVERAL VIDEOS AND FORUM POSTS WHERE OTHERS HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. THE QUESTION IS WHY IS FORD BEING ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH NOT HAVING TO RECALL THESE HEADLAMPS. IN ONE VIDEO, THE MAN EXPLAINS EXACTLY WHAT I EXPLAINED TO FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, ANNAMARIE ROCHA. THE CONDENSATION DESTROYS THE LED'S AND A COMPUTER CONTROL BOARD ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HEADLAMPS.
IN MOTION, INTERSTATE HIGHWAY MERGE LANE. I HAVE A 2019 FORD F150 EQUIPPED WITH A PRE-COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATELY 12,500. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. DURING MY VEHICLE OWNERSHIP THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAS ALWAYS BEEN SET TO 'APPLY BRAKING' AND ALERT SET TO 'HIGH' THE SYSTEM HAS ALERTED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, HOWEVER THE AEB NEVER ENGAGED THE BRAKES. I WAS RECENTLY IN A COLLISION, WHILE THE SYSTEM ALERTED, AND SHOULD HAVE ENGAGED THE AEB. THE PRE-COLLISION AEB DID NOT APPLY THE BRAKES. THE COLLISION WAS MINOR; THE PRE-COLLISION AEB SYSTEM FAILED. OTHER CONCERNS FOR CONSIDERATION. IF THE PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM CAN FAIL, COULD THE SYSTEM ALSO APPLY BRAKES WHEN THERE IS NO DANGER OF A COLLISION. A FAILED SYSTEM IS A FAILED SYSTEM. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE A RESPONSE AND ASSURANCE FROM FORD MOTOR CORPORATION; BEFORE I HAVE THE DAMAGE REPAIRED, I WOULD LIKE FORD TO INSPECT THE SYSTEM, PROVIDE A DATA HISTORY REPORT FROM MY VEHICLE; AND ASSURANCE THE PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED BEFORE I HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED.
THE EVAPORATOR CORD WENT BAD BEFORE I EVEN OWNED MY BRAND NEW TRUCK FOR A YEAR CAUSING WATER TO LEAK UNDER THE PASSENGER DASH AND UNDER THE CARPET WHICH CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MOLD TO GROW THROUGH THE CAB. THIS IS NOT YET A RECALL, BUT FORD KNEW THAT THIS WAS AS ISSUE IN THESE TRUCKS AND STILL SOLD IT TO US. THERE ARE AT LEAST 3 IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE AT OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP.
VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN. I WAS WAITING IN LINE OF TRAFFIC FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. MOTOR STOPS, LIGHTS GO OUT. PLACED IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED TO RESTART, WOULD NOT START UNTIL AFTER 3 - 4 MINUTES.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. The cam phaser was replaced, but the vehicle continued to experience hesitation and shuddering while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, and the transmission was replaced. The contact indicated that 20,000 miles later, the vehicle experienced the same failures and was taken back to the dealer, who discovered metal shavings in the engine oil. The contact was advised that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. The VIN was not available.
THIS HAPPENED TWICE TODAY 10/24/2020. FIRST TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A TURNING LIGHT ON A MAIN ROAD AND AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE BREAK THE ENGINE SHUTOFF. SECOND TIME I WAS IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD MAKING A TURN AND THE ENGINE SHUTOFF ONCE AGAIN DISPLAYING THE IMAGE ATTACHED.
TRANSMISSION HAS ISSUES WITH HARD SHIFTS FROM THE 3-4 AND THE 4-5 UP SHIFTS AND DOWNSHIFTS. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO LURCH FORWARD INTO ANOTHER CAR. THE ISSUE HAS ALSO CAUSED TIMES WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS UNABLE TO FIND A GEAR AND IT WOULD LOSE POWER UNTIL IT CHOSE ONE AND JERKED THE WHOLE TRUCK FORWARD.
I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE AND WENT TO PASS A SLOWER MOVING VEHICLE WHILE I HAD SPACE IN THE PASSING LANE. AS THE TRUCK SLOWED FORM 73- 60 MPH, I GOT INTO THE ACCELERATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED FROM 10TH/9TH GEAR TO 5TH. THE TRUCK SHUTTERED AND SLAMMED INTO GEAR, ALMOST SOUNDING AS IF A SEMI HAD REAR ENDED MY TRUCK. I HAD LOST ALL POWER TO THE POWER TRAIN AND HAD A WARNING LIGHT COME ON THE DASHBOARD. I HAVE EXPERIENCED RANDOM TIMES AND THE LAST TIME WAS DOWN RIGHT SCARY... TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE ALREADY RESET THE TRANSMISSION TO "RE-LEARN" DRIVING ONCE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT 5K AND 16K MILES.
I leased a new 2019 Ford f150 xlt sport package in the fall of 2019. During the first year, I experienced some "choking" of the engine when I would accelerate. Nothing big, but noticeable. I mentioned this experience to the dealer at regular checkups and they informed me that it was "normal" and that if anything was wrong, the computerized monitoring system on the truck would identify the problem. I bought the truck after a 36 month lease. The choking continued to be a regular occurance, especially for the first few miles of a new drive. Around 30k miles, I noticed the issue getting more pronounced. I again asked the dealer about it and they provided me the same answer as before and didn't offer to explore the issue. Between 30K and 50K miles, the issue became more frequent and would impact the truck whether it was warm or cold. But now I experienced a hard shift between 1-3 gears and sometime 3-5-- jerking and slowing and struggling to move to the next gear. It will also bog down at times when changing into the higher gears with no telling when this would occur. Again, I asked the dealer about it, and becuase there was no safety light, they wouldn't do a thing. Over the past month or two, at over 50K miles, the frequency was several times on every drive. It started to jump from 8-1 and back up to 8. It would jerk and slow in high traffic situations, and finally it just would not move into gear at a stop sign at rush hour. I had to drop it into low gears and move to the side of the road after 10 minutes of stoppage; then the check engine indicator finally flashed, after an incident that could have caused harm to me or others. I slowly drove it to my destination. Since then, I have not allowed anyone to drive the truck because it is dangerous to operate. I took the truck to the dealer and they informed me that it needs a new transmission which will be ~$5k
UPON STARTING THE DRIVE SHAFT IS BEING TWISTED, CAUSING A LOUD CRACK\BANG FROM THE JOINTS. THIS NOISE\COMPLAINT IS CONSISTENT WITH NUMEROUS TSB'S AND ILLINOIS CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT CONCERNING THESE DEFECTIVE 10 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS. FURTHER, BOTH AT A STOP, SHIFTING FWD.\REV. AND OPERATING AT LOW SPEEDS (MANEUVERING IN PARKING LOTS) THERE IS A DEFINITE CLUNK IN THE REAR END AS YOU ACCELERATE \ DECELERATE; THIS COMING FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL YOKE\JOINT. THIS PROBLEM HAS\IS OCCURRING SINCE PURCHASE, 03\2020 AND IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. AS OF 10\07\2020 THE TRUCK HAS 10,000 MILES.
I PURCHASED A LEFT OVER 2019 IN JUNE 2020. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TWICE FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT FROM A SERVICE ADVISOR. THE VEHICLE'S POWERTRAIN IS JERKY WHEN SLOWING DOWN. IT FEELS LIKE A KICK WHEN IS GOES FROM GEAR TO GEAR UP OR DOWN SHIFTING. THERE IS ALSO A LOUD BANG UPON START UP. I VIDEO TAPED IT, THE DRIVE SHAFT TWIST UPON START UP. SEEMS UNSAFE IF THE DRIVE PIN IS THE ONLY THING HOLD A 7000 LBS VEHICLE OR IF YOU START IN NEUTRAL. OVERALL THE PCM NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION STRATEGY APPLIED. VERY POOR ON FORD'S BEHALF.
I am writing to notify Ford Motor Company, hereinafter referred to as “Ford” of the 2019 Ford F-150, King Ranch edition, VIN Number [XXX] (the “Vehicle’) recurring engine failure, hereinafter referred to as “Manufacturer Defect”. The Manufacturer Defect has continuously put my family in LIFE-THEATENING SITUATIONS. I purchased the Vehicle from Texas Ford Sales Ltd., Dealer Number P11422 on April 13, 2019. The Vehicle was taken to AutoNation Ford of Fort Worth, hereinafter referred to as “AutoNation” to seek warranty repairs for the Manufacturer Defect. The Vehicle has been in AutoNation and Ford’s care, custody, and control for more than 50 days relating directly to the Manufacturer Defect. This Manufacturer Defect is not isolated to this Vehicle. This Manufacturer Defect has been known by the Ford Leadership Team. Evidenced by the Technical Service Bulletin 19-2232, dated 7/23/2019. Titled (3.5L Ecoboost – Excessive Oil Consumption With or Without DTC P0365/PO369 – Built On Or Before 1-April-2019). Ford has concealed the Manufacturing Defect in an attempt to limit the scope of the Ford Motor Company New Vehicle Limited Warranty responsibilities as it pertains to the oil consumption defect. Ford has violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Texas consumer protection statutes. Ford has acted with negligence, willful misconduct, bad faith, and/or breach of express warranties. This Manufacturing Defect substantially impairs the use and market value of the Vehicle. The Manufacturing Defect continues to create a SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD for my three babies, my wife, myself, and the public. Therefore, if Ford and/or AutoNation are unable to correct this Manufacturing Defect, I expect Ford to replace or repurchase the Vehicle. If this matter is not satisfactorily resolved by 6/25/2021 and I have been indemnified for any and all losses, damages, costs, fees, expenses and/or liabilities arising out of, involving, and/or in dealing with, t PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTI
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE EDGE OF AN INTERSECTION. MY VEHICLE WAS IMPACTED BY A LARGE HEAVY PICK AT MODERATE SPEED. THE OTHER TRUCK STRUCK MY VEHICLE AT THE FRONT LEFT CORNER. WHILE THE IMPACT CAUSED HEAD AND HIP INJURY; THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TOTALED FROM THE IMPACT.
10R80 ten speed automatic transmission first exhibited indications of failure 9/16/2020, Ford's response being reprogram PCM. Transmission has progressively declined in reliability complete with harsh shifts, jerking, erratic up and downshifts, suddenly reverting into neutral at highway speeds. Safety of self, wife and other family members imperiled due to the vehicle suddenly lurching, jerking, and slamming forward in an unsafe manner at highway speeds. Ford dealerships have reprogrammed the transmission PCM four times over several years with progressively worsening transmission functionality. Dealership service specialist has confirmed that the transmission failure is due to internal components with burnt fluid as a component. But, Ford will not allow them to open the transmission up, denied repeatedly by the manufacturer as the issue with this 10R80 transmission is widespread with thousands of complaints filed, sone with NHTSA and others online and with Ford Customer Service to no avail. Ford is denying this manufacturer's defective transmission to avoid financial liability likely in the multi million dollar range over a wide array of Ford products with this faulty transmission installed in them. During the four times that Ford dealerships have reprogrammed the transmission's computer at the behest and mandate of Ford Motor Company, this vehicle's transmission repair was covered by both the manufacturers warranty as well as a privately purchased Ford Extended Service Plan (Extra Care). Ford chose deny coverage under either warranty though it is warrantied under both plans explicitly. This failure can result in vehicular accidents because of transmission's erratic and flawed functionality. Stranded on an interstate highway due to this failure especially is dangerous and may leave the vehicle exposed to collision.
DRIVING ON A ROAD AND THE TRUCK ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF, DISPLAYED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN SHOWING "AUTO STOP/START, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART ENGINE" ( I DONT USE THE AUTO STOP/START FEATURE) THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO ASAP THE VEHICAL MODEL SHUTTING DOWN RANDOMLY POSSIBLY LEADING INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH.
WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT WITH BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL AND ABOVE ABOUT 40 MPH, A MESSAGE AND ALARM GO OFF THAT SAYS "KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL". THIS OCCURS ON JUST ABOUT EVERY STRAIGHT AWAY AND BECOMES VERY ANNOYING. IT ALSO DISTRACTS ME WHEN I SHOULD BE PAYING ATTENTION TO THE ROAD. I'VE HAD IT IN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THIS AND ON THE LAST VISIT THEY CALLED FORD TECHNICAL SUPPORT. THEY SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT THAT THEY WEREN'T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I FEEL ITS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IT DISTRACTS THE DRIVER NEEDLESSLY.
Numerous transmission problems of slipping and hard shifting, then stuck in lower gear, can not upshift to higher gears. Have taken for warranty service 3 times now. 1st time caused me to be stranded in remote desert area on one of hottest days of year with wife and child in car with no tow because of COVID/passenger restrictions. Issue is intermittent not constant. But once issue begins it doesn't not go away until taken in for service. Not safe to be driving on road with these issues.
HORN WENT OUT AT 33000 MILES MY BROTHER HAS A 2016 FORD EXPLORER AND A 2019 F250 ALL OF WHICH HORNS WENT OUT AT LOW MILES
I WAS DECELERATING DOWN A HILL. I WAS STILL DOING ABOUT 20 MPH WHILE BRAKING AND I RECEIVED AN ERROR SAYING 'AUTO STARTSTOP SHIFT TO P, THEN RESTART ENGINE' AND MY ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND HAD TO COAST MYSELF TO SOMEWHERE AS CLOSE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS POSSIBLE. THANK GOD THIS HAPPENED ON A LOCAL RD AND NOT A HIGHWAY. I PROCEEDED TO SHIFT TO P AND RESTART THE VEHICLE 4 TIMES UNTIL IT ALLOWED ME TO SHIFT TO DRIVE AND IT ACTUALLY ENGAGE SO I COULD CONTINUE DRIVING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AND THE TRUCK IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD.
WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. WHEN I APPROACHED A STOPLIGHT, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND STALL. AS SOON AS I PLACED THE ENGINE IN PARK, THE RPMS INCREASED AND THE ENGINE FELT LIKE IT WAS NOT GOING TO STALL. IT STILL HAD SOME SHAKING GOING ON. AT THE NEXT TRAFFIC LIGHT, I STAYED IN DRIVE AND THE ENGINE DIED. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND GET HOME. DURING THIS TIME I WAS USING NO OTHER FEATURES IN THE TRUCK. NOTHING WAS CHARGING, THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS OFF, THE LIGHTS WERE OFF, AND THE RADIO WAS OFF. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM, AND THEY WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT. I CALLED SEVERAL OTHER FORD DEALERSHIPS IN THE NEARBY AREA, AND THEY WOULD NOT LOOK AT IT CITING EITHER COVID REASONS OR NO TECHNICIANS ON HAND.
1. ENGINE BEGINS TO RUN ROUGH DURING HIGH SPEEDS. 2. REAR CABIN NOISE WHILE DRIVING (HEAR OUTSIDE NOISES LIKE A WINDOW IS OPEN).
ALL 4 DOORS CREAK WHEN OPENING FROM HALF OPEN TO FULL OPEN. I CAN HEAR THE CREAKING COMING FROM THE HINGES AND THE DOOR CHECK RODS. IT STARTED AT APRX 6000 MILES 3 MONTHS AGO WITH THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR ONLY. THEN PROGRESSED TO ALL 4 DOORS. I NOW HAVE 9460 MILES.
NOTICED DURING SUMMER 2020 MONTHS THE TRUCK WHEN IDLING AT STOP WOULD VIBRATE AND TACHOMETER WOULD BOUNCE. RECENTLY DURING JULY TO SEPTEMBER THE TRUCK WHEN STOPPED WOULD IDLE ROUGH THEN SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY HAVING TO PUT IN PARK AND RESTART THE TRUCK! THE LAST TIME IT DID IT I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT ON A CITY STREET AND IT JUST SHUT DOWN AND I HAD TO RESTART THE TRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES SINCE JULY. I TOOK IT TO TWO FORD DEALERS AND NEITHER COULD REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIX IT.
2019 F-150 - 3.5L ECOBOOST, ON A COLD START THERE IS A TICKING-TAPPING OR RATTLE NOISE
COLLISION ALERT RANDOMLY GOES OFF
WHEN DRIVING 5 MPH TO 15 MPH AND GOING OVER BUMPS THERE IS A POPPING NOISE FROM THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL AREA. THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT IS ALSO OFF. THE POSITION OF THE STEERING WHEEL IS ABOUT 5 DEGREES TO THE LEFT.
THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 13,500 MILES ON IT AND IT CONSUMES OIL DRAMATICALLY AND THERE IS AN OFF THROTTLE RATTLE IN THE ENGINE. ADDITIONALLY, ONE OF THE CYLINDERS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE FIRING AND IT HAS NO OIL PRESSURE.
FROM 4TH TO 10TH GEAR THE TRANSMISSION IS HUNTING / SURGING. THIS IS WORSE IN A DOWNSHIFT FROM 10TH TO 9TH AND FROM 9TH TO 8TH. IT IS EXTREMELY AGGRAVATING TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE AND HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS THE TRANSMISSION ACTING DIFFERENT TO MY DRIVING STYLE BECAUSE IT IS ADAPTED TO HOW MY WIFE DRIVES. THAT'S A TERRIBLE EXCUSE FOR ALL FORD EMPLOYEES TO USE BECAUSE FORD HASN'T GIVEN THEM A CLEAR ANSWER. THIS DESIGN FLAW SHOULD BE RECTIFIED. THIS IS THE DREAM TRUCK MY WIFE AND I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED. WE DECIDED TO SPEND A LITTLE MORE THAN WE SHOULD HAVE TO GET WHAT WE WANTED AND WE HAVE BEEN ENTIRELY LET DOWN. PLEASE FIX THIS, FORD. DO THE RIGHT THING.
RATTLE ON COLD START. SOUNDS LIKE TIMING CHAIN RATTLE OR PHASERS.
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
TRUCK WAS APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR OLD WITH 13,500 MILES AND WHEN I WOULD START THE TRUCK, WITH THE A/C ON, YOU WOULD GET A STRONG SMELL OF VINEGAR COMING FROM THE VENTS. THE SMELL WOULD GO AWAY AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS. WHILE CLEANING THE TRUCK I REALIZED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR MAT WAS WET AS WELL. BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY ORIGINALLY WORKED ON THE A/C AND AFTER SEVERAL VISITS THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE CARPET OF THE TRUCK DUE TO THE DAMPNESS. SAME ISSUES CONTINUED AND I WAS TOLD THEY FOUND A LEAKY DOOR SEAL, WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN THE DAMPNESS ON THE FLOOR, BUT NOT THE SMELL FROM THE VENTS. DEALERSHIP RETURNED THE CAR, WITH THE INTAKE NOT PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY (PICTURES ATTACHED), AND 48 HOURS LATER THE FLOOR WAS WET AGAIN AND THE SMELL WAS STILL THERE WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK. ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED AT THIS TIME TIME.
VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 8600MILES ON IT. THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED 4 TIMES. THE FIRST WAS REPAIRED BY RESURFACING ROTORS WHICH LASTDE LESS THAN 300 MILES. 2ND ATTEMPT ROTORS AND PADS WERE REPLACED WHICH FAILED IN LEASS THAN 200 MILES. RETURNED ATWICE SINCE THEN FOR ROTOR RESURFACE. DEALR DOES NOT KNOW WHY BRAKES ARE FAILING/ FORD REFUSES TO PROVIDE EXPLANATION OR ASSURE THIS WONT CONTINUE
MY F150 2019 WHEN COMING TO THE STOP BRAKE PEDAL IS GOING DOWN AND WHEN HOLDING THE BRAKE PEDAL AT THE LIGHT IT GOING SLOWLY TO THE FLOOR. OVER ALL THE BRAKE PEDAL IS BEHAVING DIFFERENTLY EACH TIME I USE THE BRAKES ALTHOUGH EACH TIME THE BRAKE PEDAL IS GOING TOWARD THE FLOOR SLOWLY. TAKEN TO FORD DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THIS IS NORMAL. I ALMOST REAR-ENDED SOMEONE SO TODAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE SECOND TIME TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER AND NOW WAITING FOR THE OUTCOME. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE DRIVING SUCH A LARGE VEHICLE WITH THIS TYPE OF BRAKE BEHAVE. TRUCK HAVE ONLY LESS THAN 12000 MILES. *TR
HIGH AMPLITUDE VIBRATION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. MOST NOTICEABLE BETWEEN 50 AND 70MPH. I COMPLAINED ABOUT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DETERMINED THE RING AND PINION GEARS NEEDED REPLACING AT 4200 MILES. VIBRATION PERSISTED, SO I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY TRIED ROADFORCE BALANCING THE WHEELS/TIRES AND CHECKING FOR RUNOUT. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM EITHER. THEN THEY TRIED REPLACING WHEELS AND TIRES ALL TOGETHER, STILL WITH NO SUCCESS. *TR
OIL CONSUMPTION ENGINE USING AT LEAST 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1500 T0 2000 MILES SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE I HAVE CHANGED THE OIL TWICE AND EACH TIME IT GOES THREW 2 PLUS QUARTS WITHIN 1500 T0 2000 MILES OF BEING CHANGED..ADDED 5W20 SYNTHETIC OIL EACH TIME 4 TO 5 QTS. SINCE HAVING THE TRUCK. MILEAGE NOW 14,230 THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW ENGINE!
I JUST BOUGHT MY TRUCK AND HAVE HONKED MY HORN TWO TIMES. BOTH TIMES THE PERFORATED SEAL FOR THE AIRBAG HAS SPLIT OPEN. I GOT IT REPAIRED THE FIRST TIME AND NOW I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THIS IS A DEFECT, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO APPLY PRESSURE TO HONK A HORN. ESPECIALLY IF SOMEONE PULLS OUT IN FRONT OF YOU AND YOU HAVE TO ABRUPTLY APPLY THE BRAKES AT THE SAME TIME AS HONKING. THIS CREATES A FORWARD FORCE THAT MAKES YOU PRESS HARDER AS WELL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL, AS I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE AIRBAG NOW, IF IT WILL WORK AT ALL, OR IF IT WILL DEPLOY FOR NO REASON AND INJURE ME. BOTH TIMES I WAS DRIVING, BUT ONLY THE FIRST TIME DID I HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES HARD, THE SECOND TIME WAS A NORMAL HONK WITH LIGHT TO MEDIUM PRESSURE. *TR
Transmission shifts extremely hard. It clunks most of the time when I turn the vehicle on. Often, when I shift from park to drive the trunk lurches forward even with my foot pressed down all the way on the break. It's in the ford dealer right now and all they can find is low transmission fluid. Although I've never had a warning light or anything on before.
