FORD ISSUED A DAY RUNNING LIGHT (DRL) RECALL ON SOME 2019/2020 F 150 VEHICLES WHERE SOME VEHICLES HAD DRLS THAT WOULD REMAIN DAYTIME BRIGHT WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. AFTER FORD'S FIX IS APPLIED, ALL TRUCK LIGHTS, EXCEPT HEADLIGHTS (SIDE MARKER, TAG LIGHTS, FRONT LIGHTS, TRAILER LIGHTS) ARE ON AT ALL TIMES UNLESS THE LIGHT SWITCH IS MANUALLY TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION. IN THE OFF POSITION, THE DRLS ARE OFF TOO. SINCE THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO TURN OFF THE UNNECESSARY LIGHTING, IT PUTS THE DRIVER INTO A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE THE DRLS ARE OFF. STATES REQUIRE DRLS TO BE ON ESPECIALLY DURING POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS. FORD HAS MANAGED TO TOTALLY SCREW UP EXTERIOR LIGHTING BY CREATING A FIX THAT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY SIMPLY TURNED ON ALL LIGHTS ALL THE TIME. IN RESPONSE TO ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM, FORD STATES THAT EXTERIOR LIGHTS WILL BE ON WHEN THE LIGHT SWITCH IS IN ANY POSITION EXCEPT OFF. SO THEY KNOW THE FIX THEY PROVIDED DOESN'T WORK CORRECTLY, BUT THEY ARE UNWILLING TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION THAT MAKES EXTERIOR LIGHTING OPERATE NORMALLY. THAT IS, DRLS ARE ON DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, WITHOUT ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTING BEING ON. BESIDES THE SAFETY FACTOR, OVERALL LIGHT FAILURES WILL INCREASE WITH TIME SINCE THERE ON FULL TIME. *TR
I RECENTLY JUST PURCHASED MY 2019 FORD F150 WITH THE 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN MAKING THIS CLUNKING SOUND AND JERKS VERY HARD. THESE TRUCKS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE THEM CLUNK AND SHIFT HARD AND JERK. FORD NEEDS TO FIND A SOLUTION TO FIX THESE ISSUES WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. IT ALSO LURCHES WHEN ITS DOWNSHIFTING WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK ON THE INTERSTATE WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL TURNED ON. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO AUTOMATICALLY SLOW AS I APPROACHED A VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME. AS I CHANGED LANES TO PASS, THE SYSTEM SAW THERE WAS NOTHING AHEAD OF ME, THEN DOWNSHIFTED FROM 10TH GEAR TO 5TH GEAR WITH A VERY LOUD "KLUNK". SINCE I HAD THE ACCELERATOR DEPRESSED TO OVERRIDE THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE AS I CHANGED LANES, THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY AND ABRUPTLY ACCELERATED. I WAS THROWN BACK IN MY SEAT AND MOMENTARILY LOST FULL CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. I ESTIMATE I WAS GOING 65-70 MPH AND THE DOWNSHIFT TO 5TH GEAR AND QUICK ACCELERATION WAS EXTREMELY UNNERVING. I CATEGORIZE THIS COMPLAINT AS A POWERTRAIN ISSUE BECAUSE I WAS OVERRIDING THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE AT THE TIME AND THIS ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT AND THE ENGINE POWER TOGETHER. When in drive at any speed the transmission slips and/or jerks as it's switching gears. It is "sluggish" gaining speed at this time especially when accelerating from a stopped position making it dangerous to enter traffic. You never know if when it's going to happen. We have taken this vehicle several times checking for a recall and told there isn't one and it'll cost us thousands to fix. This started occuring less than 1 year after purchasing.
I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT THE FORD F150 TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND I BELIEVE MY TRUCK ALSO HAS THE ISSUES OF HESITATION IN SHIFTING, THOUGHT I WAS IMAGINING THINGS BUT IT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK 3 MONTHS AGO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2019 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE WAS T-BONED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE WENT DOWN INTO A DITCH AND CONTINUED TO SLIDE INTO BRANCHES AND BUSHES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAG. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT HAD ALSO SEPARATED FROM THE SEAT FRAMING. THE WHOLE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS SMASHED IN WITH THE ROOF DAMAGED INCLUDING THE SIDE AND BACK WINDOWS. THE FRAME WAS ALSO DAMAGED. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE FOR NECK INJURIES. THE OTHER DRIVER AND HER PASSENGER WERE AIR LIFTED AND TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL AS WELL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS STILL INVESTIGATING AND HAD NOT YET OFFICIALLY TOTALED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE DEALER DEERY BROTHERS FORD LINCOLN (2343 MORMON TREK BLVD, IOWA CITY, IA 52246 319-337-4600) WAS CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO THE AIR BAG FAILURE HOWEVER, OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE BUT REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK TWO TIMES DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. TRANSMISSION WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED FOR A FRONT PUMP NOISE AT 500 KMS. TRUCK HAS 11,000 KMS ON IT TOWED IN TWICE.
on 3/6/2020 I was in a serious car accident in the vehicle. which required surgeries for not only myself but also other drivers on the road. The driver air bags did not deploy, the turck was totaled and had body damage around the entire vehicle. There was a blood stain from my head hitting the driver door window but no air bag deployment. The gas pedal was not attached when reviewing the photos taken. The collision detection did not detect. we have asked Ford Motor Company to come and look at the car as it has been in a protective hold but the response from FMC was that due to covid they would not send anyone and we were left on out own. There were no warning messages, lamps, lights or indicators prior to the collision.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE NEWS OF A NATIONAL RECALL FOR COOPER TIRES AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE TIRES WERE ON THE RECALL LIST. THE CONTACT CONTACTED TIRE KINGDOM (1485 E MITCHELL HAMMOCK RD, OVIEDO, FL 32765) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD NEED TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE FOR NEW COOPER TIRES OF A DIFFERENT TIRE LINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE NEW TIRES SINCE THE RECALL STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD REPLACE THE AFFECTED TIRES, FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CONTACT NHTSA SINCE THEY HAD NO AUTHORITY OVER THE DEALER. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
The vehicle hesitates while speeding up. This hesitation is dangerous in situations like entering and exiting the highway from an off-ramp, where acceleration is necessary to merge with traffic. The vehicle hesitation to accelerate is unpredictable. I tired several times to upload documentation as jpeg files. Each time I get Failed to Upload message. Consumer stated vehicle's hesitation has occurred several times and vehicle has not been repaired.
THERE IS A COVER MADE OF PLASTIC UNDER THE TRANSMISSION THAT IS HELD ON BY 4 SMALL BOLTS WITH BIG WASHERS. DRIVING IN STRONG WINDS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE BACK 2 PLASTIC HOLDERS BROKE. THIS APPROXIMATE 34 INCHES ACROSS PLASTIC IS HANGING DOWN. SEEMS TO ME IT IS GUARDING SOME VITAL PARTS UNDER THERE. SURE WARRANTY WILL REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF PLASTIC WHICH WILL SURELY FAIL IN TIME. THEN IT WILL BE MY EXPENSE. WHEN I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HE KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, AND HAD THEM ON HAND. SHOULD BE MADE OUT OF A THICKER METAL, EVEN ALUMINUM.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,800.
The collision warning appears random and not even close to a vehicle. I’m Alamo experience problems with the power train (truck jerks) and not other problems. I have been having the same problems since 2020. My truck is at the dealership and now Ford engineers are involved because the trucks has multiple codes and unable to figure out the problem. My truck has been at the dealership since May 17-June 1st and June 7 to current.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SOMETIMES WITH REALLY BAD HARSH JERKS. AT SPEEDS BELOW 50MPH MOST OF THE TIME WHEN PULLING MY BOAT TRAILER. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS.
TRANSMISSION MAKE A LOUD BANG WHEN STARTING VEHICLE. UPON ACCELERATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 10TH TO 6TH GEAR IT IT SO VIOLENT IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR. SOMETIMES TRANSMISSION WILL HAVE A 3-4 SECOND DELAY TO GO INTO REVERSE AND THEN MAKES A LOUD BANG WHEN REVERSE ENGAGES. SPERMATIC HARD SHIFTING. ALL THESE PROBLEMS STARTED AT ABOUT 20,000 MILES.
TRUCK WAS PARKED, WENT TO UNLOCK KEY FOB DID NOT WORK. OPENED WITH KEY AND HAD NO ELECTRIC POWER. TOTALLY DEAD, CHECKED BATTERY WITH METER AND IT HAD FULL CHARGE. CHECKED FUSE'S ALL OK. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES TRUCK POWERED BACK UP ON ITS OWN WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING EXCEPT SCRATCHING MY HEAD.
ENGINE STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. THE AUTO/START WAS DISABLED AT THE TIME. I SLOWED DOWN TO LET A CAR TURN LEFT INTO A DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO ACCELERATE AND HAD ZERO POWER, ENGINE WAS OFF. THERE WAS A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND RESTART VEHICLE.
BRAND NEW TRUCK EXPERIENCING ROUGH DOWNSHIFTING WHILE APPROACHING NORMAL STOPS. ALSO UPON BEGINNING ACCELERATION, GEARS MAY SEEM TO SLIP AND REV, SIMILAR TO CLUTCH BEING APPLIED AND ENGINE REVVING, THEN CATCHES A GEAR AND LURCHES FORWARD. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AT END OF BACKING UP AND SHIFTING TO DRIVE, FELT AND HEARD A LOUD 'CLUNK' IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL AREA. NEVER HAD A VEHICLE DO ANY OF THIS. CALLED FORD SERVICE AND HE SAID, ' YOU'VE NEVER HAD A 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION, HAVE YOU'. OF COURSE NOT, IT IS NEW TECHNOLOGY. *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY THE TRUCK GOES INTO NEUTRAL AND WON'T SHIFT INTO GEAR I HAVE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RE-START THE VEHICLE AND GO AGAIN. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON A BUSY FREEWAY WITH NO SHOULDER.

Additionally, there was a ticking sound coming from the engine while the vehicle was idling. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine cam phasers were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact stated that the power train control module was previously reprogrammed under an extended warranty coverage, but the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 1,300.
DRIVING ON A ROAD AND THE TRUCK ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF, DISPLAYED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN SHOWING "AUTO STOP/START, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART ENGINE" ( I NEVER USE THE AUTO STOP/START FEATURE) UPON RESEARCHING THIS ERROR ( THE DEALERSHIP WAS OF NO HELP ) IT APPEARS THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE AT LEAST THE 2018 F150 MODEL. IT'S VERY CONCERNING THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND IS A HUGH SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
My truck's gas pedal does not always accelerate the truck. By playing lightly with the accelerator I can usually keep the truck accelerating. If I press the accelerator to the floorboard, the truck just stops, so I never do that. Maybe 3 times in 4 years. Several times I have been on a freeway and my truck comes to a complete stop. Very Scary! My truck has had this behavior since I first bought it. Planet Ford told me repeatedly that it was due to the way I drove. Called Ford and they were no help. I finally gave up.

The contact stated that the vehicle experienced excessive oil consumption and approximately two quarts of oil was added to the engine each month to maintain to top off the oil level. Additionally, while operating the vehicle in 4WD, the vehicle jerked and hesitated. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. This 5.0L Coyote engine has been very problematic. Since 2020, it has made a chatter at low speeds which sounds like a motor dieseling. After numerous visits and complaints to Ford with trying to address the noise, the service manager said it was due to running 87 octane instead of 91+. This vehicle does not mandate premium fuel by the manufacturer but infact the chatter or dieseling goes away when using the premium grade fuel. Consumers should be made aware of this prior to buying a vehicle. Furthermore, the dealership could not tell me if this chattering has caused damage to the engine which could result in shorter life on the engine. This problem exists to this day if not using premium fuel.

Additionally, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle had been serviced by the dealer six times due to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2019 F150 AT LARRY H. MILLER FORD DRAPER. AND WITHIN A LITTLE OVER A MONTH OF OWNING THE TRUCK THE TRANSMISSION IS NOW GIVING ME PROBLEMS. JUST RECENTLY TOOK IT IN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, LEFT IT THERE ALL DAY ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE. AND SINCE I'VE HAD IT BACK THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN GETTING WORSE. I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION SKIPPING GEARS (2ND AND 5TH). STAYING IN GEAR TOO LONG. IT DOESN'T SHIFT DOWN PROPERLY, SO IT TAKES A LOT OF POWER TO MAKE A FULL STOP. AS ACCELERATE IT GOES FROM 9TH TO 8TH, THEN DOWN TO 7TH THEN BACK UP TO 9TH. AND I REALLY HAVE TO ACCELERATE IT TO EVEN SHIFT GEARS.
DEC 20, 2019, HAD A FLAT. PUT ON SPARE; RIM FIT BUT TIRE WAS 17 INCH, INSTEAD OF 20. CALLED SERVICE DEPT OF LUGOFF FORD. "[XXX]" ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE FURTHER OR FASTER THAN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. TOOK TRUCK IN THE NEXT DAY AND THEY FIXED THE FLAT. SAID NO MANAGER WAS THERE, CALL BACK MONDAY. I CALLED BACK MONDAY AND THE OPERATOR SAID [XXX] WOULD CALL ME BACK. I CALLED EVERY DAY FOR THE NEXT WEEK AND ON JAN 9,2020, HE CALLED ME BACK AND SAID HE WOULD SEE WHAT HE COULD DO AND CALL ME BACK. I WAITED 3 DAYS AND BEGAN CALLING EVERY DAY TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. HE STILL HAS NOT CALLED. IN THE INTERIM, I CALLED "FORD NATIONAL" ON JAN 21, 2020, AND TALKED TO "[XXX]" [XXX] CAIN PUT ME ON HOLD 3 TIMES FOR SEVERAL MINUTES WHILE SHE TALKED TO LUGOFF FORD. FINALLY SHE CAME BACK TO THE PHONE AND SAID THAT AFTER THE FIRST CONVERSATION, LUGOFF FORD KEPT GIVING HER THE WRONG EXTENSION OR DISCONNECTING HER. TO SUMMARIZE, I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVING ME 5 20 INCH TIRES INSTEAD OF 4 WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE $2000 "APPEARANCE PACKAGE". IF THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE ME A "DOUGHNUT", THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOME SORT OF HIGHLY NOTICABLE DISCLAIMER. THE ONLY WAY I COULD HAVE KNOWN I DID NOT HAVE A REAL SPARE WOULD HAVE BEEN TO CRAWL UNDER THE TRUCK.(EVEN 2 OF THEIR TECHNICIANS AND 1 OF THEIR SALESMEN DID NOT KNOW WHEN I ASKED THEM.) I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD TAKE BACK THE 17 INCH TIRE AND GIVE ME A 20 INCH TIRE INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR *JS
THE 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION IS INCONSISTENT IN SHIFTING ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD ... ALSO GRABS AND CLUNKS IF SLIGHTLY ROLLING BACKWARDS WHEN MOVED TO DRIVE (INCONSISTENT). CREATES UNPREDICTABLE DRIVING SITUATIONS.
DOOR LOCKS ON ALL 4 DOORS FREEZE UP WHEN BELOW 20 DEG. F THE DOORS WILL NOT LATCH I HAVE TO USE A WRATCHET STRAP OR BUNGE CORD TO HOLD THEM CLOSED. VEHICLE CAN NOT BE LOCKED FOR SECURITY WHEN PARKED UNTIL IT IS PLACED IN A HEATED GARAGE TO THAW. DOORS WILL SWING OPEN WHEN DRIVING. DANGER TO MY GRANDKIDS BEING EJECTED OR FALLING OUT. A MINOR TRAFFIC ACCIDENT COULD BE FATAL TO ANY OF THE OCCUPANTS

Ford REFUSED to address the known safety issues with the 10R80 10 speed transmission defective CDF drum and defective valve body the whole 42 to times it was taken to the dealership under warranty. Like everyone else with these transmission, Ford and their dealerships continued to lied to all us owners and said it was working fine and there was nothing defective with this transmission.. As of May 23, 2023 Ford issued a TSB 22-2428, TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT Automatic Transmission - Harsh/Delayed Engagement And/Or Harsh/Delayed Shift - Built On Or Before 23-Dec-2022 " Ford issued a TSB and not a recall since they knew the affected vehicles would be out of warranty and they could then charge the owners pay for repair cost of $8,000- $12,000 for a new transmission replacement. Ford refuses to replace these transmission at their expense, if you are out of warranty, which most are unless you have a extend warranty. How it even legal that they aren't required by law to replace these transmission at the full expense of Ford since they clearly sold us vehicles with known defective transmission from the beginning and refused to address when the vehicles were under warranty. Many of us owners can't believe the NHTSA would allow a safety issue like this to continue on our roadways without forcing Ford to recall and replace all these defective transmission at Ford expense.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET IT STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN AND I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BREAKS BECAUSE OF IT DOING THAT. AGAIN ONE DECEMBER 20TH 2019 IT DID IT AGAIN. I DONT KNOW WHAT'S CAUSING IT TO BE DOING THAT BUT I'VE TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NOTHING CAN BE FOUND WRONG.
ON DEC 9 WHILE TAKING OFF FROM THE TRAFFIC LIGHT DRIVING AT AROUND 5MPH MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DID NOT ACCELERATE.., THE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT, BRAKES WARNING LIGHT AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT AS I DID NOT EXPECT MY TRUCK TO SUDDENLY NOT ACCELERATE. AT THIS TIME THE TRUCK WOULD ONLY DRIVE AT 5MPH. DROVE TO THE DEALER AT 5 MPH AND THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ON DEC 10 IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN. SUDDENLY THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND AGAIN ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. TODAY FOR THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED AGAIN. ON EACH OCCASION THE DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM HOWEVER THEY DID REMOVE CODES NOT PERTAINING TO THE SYMPTOMS.
THE TAILGATE CAME OPEN ON ITS OWN. WHEN IT DID THAT IT FELL ONTO THE TRAILER TONQUE JACK OF THE TRAILER I WAS PULLING AND CAUSED $1372.08 WORTH OF DAMAGE. THE PICKUP WAS MOVING WHEN THE TAILGATE OPENED AS I WAS IN A LARGE PARKING LOT OF A CAFE AND WAS PREPARING TO PARK FOR LUNCH.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOESN'T LATCH PERIODICALLY AND THEREFORE WILL NOT STAY CLOSED.
VIBRATION THROUGHOUT THE CABIN BETWEEN 54-60MPH AS WE LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. BROUGHT IT BACK A FEW DAYS LATER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER DROVE THE TRUCK WITH ME AND AGREED THAT "THERE WAS DEFIANTLY AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED" . SO I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK TO DROP THE TRUCK OFF. I DROPPED THE TRUCK OFF THE FOLLOWING WEEK. I GOT A CALL FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER (SAME ONE THAT DROVE THE TRUCK) AND HE ASKED IF THERE WAS A LEVEL KIT INSTALLED SINCE HE DROVE THE TRUCK LAST WEEK. I REPLIED YES, BUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DRIVETRAIN VIBRATION! HE THEN STATED THAT THEY WILL NOT LOOK AT THIS AS A WARRANTY ISSUE ANYMORE AND WOULD CHARGE ME (EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM OCCURRED 100' AFTER I LEFT THE PARKING LOT WITH MY BRAND NEW TRUCK AND THE FACT THAT HE DROVE IT AND AGREED THERE IS DEFIANTLY AN ISSUE (THAT DAY!) REAR DIFF SHIMS, NO. 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT, NO. U-JOINTS, NO. REPLACE ALL TIRES, NO. REPLACE REAR SHOCKS, NO. PINON ANGLE, NO. FRONT DRIVE SHAFTS, NO. FRONT DIFF, NO. SHIM PINION GEAR, NO. FIRST TIME DEALER RESET TCM PROGRAM TO "RELEARN"SHIFTS. DIDN'T FIX PROBLEM. SECOND TIME CHECKED GREASE IN YOLK. GREASE FULL. STILL NOT FIXED. 3RD, 4TH, AND 5TH TIME DEALERSHIP CALLED FORD "HOTLINE" FOR REPAIR OR FIX. NO CALL BACK OR FIX FROM FORD TO DATE.
ON TUESDAY 11/5/19, WE WERE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT AROUND 45 MPH WHEN I DECELERATED TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN ONTO A CITY STREET. I HAD ACCELERATED BACK UP TO AROUND 30 MPH WHEN I CROSS OVER A RELATIVELY SMOOTH RAILROAD CROSSING AT A SLIGHT LEFT HAND TURN. IMMEDIATELY THE INFORMATION CENTER ON THE CONSOLE START DISPLAYING MULTIPLE ALERTS AND THE VEHICLE STARTED DECELERATING. WHILE THE ENGINE DID NOT CUT OFF, THERE WAS NO POWER TO THE POWERTRAIN AND EVENTUALLY WE ROLLED TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO FIRE ALERTS. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THEM WAS TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THE MESSAGES STILL FIRED SO I OPENED AND CLOSED THE DOOR. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE WITH NO PROBLEM AND THE ALERT MESSAGES HAD CEASED. I DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE HOUSE (APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES) AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH NO ISSUE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEN NEXT DAY (26 MILES) WITH NO ISSUE. FORTUNATELY, OUR FORD PASS APP HAD CAPTURED ALL THE ALERTS AND, AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS, THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED A GAS PEDAL POSITION SENSOR. WE PICKED THE TRUCK UP ON FRIDAY AND IT WORKED FINE UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. WE WERE DECELERATING FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY TO TURN LEFT ONTO A SIDE ROAD. WE HIT A SMALL HUMP WHERE THE SIDE ROAD MEETS THE HIGHWAY AND AGAIN THE ALERTS STARTING FIRING AND THE TRUCK LOST PROPULSION. AGAIN, THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OFF AND THE ONLY REMEDY WAS TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON. WE PLAN ON TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT WOULD LIKE FOR FORD TO ASSESS THIS PROBLEM AS IT SEEMS TO BE BEYOND THE DEALERSHIP'S CAPABILITIES TO FIX THE ISSUE. SINCE SEVERAL OF THE ALERTS REPRESENTED LOSS OF SAFETY FUNCTIONS INCLUDING BRAKES, TRACTION CONTROL, POWERTRAIN FAILURE, AND OTHERS WE FEEL THIS ISSUE REPRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD NEEDS TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX. SEVERAL OF THE F150 FORUMS HAVE SHOWN OTHER USERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
The oil is disappearing, I have no idea where it’s going, the local dealer says they don’t know where it’s going. If it gets sent to the catalytic converter it’s going to mess it up and pollute. I’m looking online and i see that a lot of people with the v8 engine are having the same problem.
EXPERIENCING ROUGH/JERKY SHIFTS FROM TRANSMISSION. PART OF THE JERKY SHIFT IS A DELAY IN DOWNSHIFT OR UP-SHIFT FOLLOWED BY IT CLUNKING/SLAMMING INTO GEAR. JERKY DOWNSHIFTS IN LOWER GEARS THRUST VEHICLE FORWARD. THIS IS EXPERIENCED DURING EVERYDAY DRIVING CONDITIONS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING IN BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY CONDITIONS. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR MONTHS. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE A FIX.
I'M FINDING THAT IN VERY COLD WEATHER, THE DOORS AND SOMETIMES THE TAILGATE WILL FREEZE SHUT. IN THIS CASE, BOTH TIMES THE TRUCK WAS SITTING OUTSIDE AND THE TEMPERATURE OVER NIGHT WAS IN THE LOW TEENS.
THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IN MY VEHICLE DIRECTLY OBSTRUCTS THE LANES OF RIGHT HAND TRAFFIC WHEN AT A STOP. THIS IS PARTICULARLY AT AN INTERSECTION WHERE 4 LANES ARE USED EACH DIRECTION. I ALMOST HIT A CAR THIS MORNING AT A 4 WAY IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR MY WIFE NEXT TO ME. I REALIZED THAT FORD HAS MOVED THE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO ALMOST CENTER WINDSHIELD TO ACCOMMODATE SENSORS LOCATED IN THE UPPER WINDSHIELD AREA. I AM WHAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED AVERAGE HEIGHT (6 FEET). EVEN AFTER ADJUSTING THE MIRROR AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE, VISION IS OBSTRUCTED. I RECENTLY HAD A LEFT HAND CRASH IN MY 2016 F-150 WHERE CROSSING TRAFFIC WAS AT AN ANGLE AND NEVER SAW THE ONCOMING CAR. I BELIEVE NOW THIS SITUATION IS NO COINCIDENCE AS I ENCOUNTERED THE ISSUE WITH MY 2019 REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. FORD HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UNHELPFUL IN RESOLVING THE ISSUE AND HAS IMPLIED I SHOULDN'T EXPECT IT TO WORK! SEVERAL OTHER F-150S HAVE BEEN TESTED LOCALLY AND ALSO FAILED COLLISION TESTS .
