BRAND NEW F-150 CREW CAB 4X4 V8. CURRENTLY HAVE LESS THAN 700 MILES. ON THREE OCCASIONS UPON STARTING THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING ASSIST. EACH TIME I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTED. POWER STEERING WAS AVAILABLE UPON RESTART. IS POWER STEERING LIKELY TO QUIT WHILE DRIVING?
THE BACKUP CAMERA ON THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT WILL PIXELIZE; GIVE LINES; OR JUST SHOW A BLANK SCREEN WITH A CONTACT DEALERSHIP. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED THAT THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ALL THEIR 2020 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES WITH BACKUP CAMERAS AND THERE IS A BACK ORDER. THAT WAS APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AGO.
Not one check engine light has ever come on. Bought this truck new off the lot, now to almost 60,000 mi. Every single component on this truck, immediately failed. Bucking/ jerking/ chugging on acceleration and maintaining speed while inclining. Incorrect gear selection 90% of the time. Going 5 mph with no foot on the gas, it up shifts and takes off down my driveway. Sudden down shifts causing violent decreases in speed. When braking the truck may rail on the brakes and "assist" you to stop or it may decrease reading of the pressure of your braking. Tire pressure sensors don't read accurately. Digital and analog speed read differently. The truck nudges itself side to side on the road. Truck will change the steering tension going around corners, so the driver must react to stay on track. Not going around corners the steering tension will change. Almost 2 in of play in the steering at times while sometimes one side is more responsive than the other. If not wearing a seat belt and the alarm goes off while the blinker is on, the blinker will slow down until the alarm stops then pick back up again. The RPM gauge doesn't respond at all or accurately. It will stay at 1,500- going up hill, accelerating, braking. The RPM's read inversely while down shifting. For 2.5 years SYNC update wouldn't install, a month after last attempt, it connected to my WIFI and updated itself. For 6 months, I dropped calls every time in one spot. Then I unplugged my phone from the center USB and I never dropped calls there again, unless I chose to have my phone plugged in charging. No start, couldn't find fob. No unlock. Unlocks on own. Heated seat and steering wheel turn on without the button. Burning smell coming from the motor <5,000mi. A/C never cold and heat never hot. Both sound like they are blowing hard, but the vents could barley rock a face mask back and forth. USB plugs don't have great power. The AC outlets have never had enough to charge anything. My BIL phone treated as key fob.
BACKUP CAMERA GOES IN/OUT. IT WILL DISPLAY A DISTORTED SCREEN AND/OR GO BLACK THEN DISPLAY MALFUNCTION HAS OCCURRED AND TO CONTACT DEALER. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE JULY 2020 AND GETTING WORSE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN .
BACKUP CAMERA DISTORTED AND GOING BLANK WHILE BACKING UP ON HOT OR RAINY DAYS .LAST 3 MONTHS
DROVE FROM NEW JERSEY TO BROOKLYN, OVER THE VERRAZZANO PARKED AND GUESS WHAT... TAILGATE WAS OPEN WITH MY TOOLS EXPOSED? HEADING HOME NICE DRIVER IN TUNNEL MADE ME AWARE THE TAILGATE WAS OPEN. FINISHED DRIVING THROUGH TUNNEL, PULLED OVER TO CLOSE TAILGATE FOR THE THIRD TIME ON ONE DAY. *TR
TAILGATE OPENS ON OWN EVEN WHILE DRIVING. NO WARNING THAT IT HAS OR IS OPEN. AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE TAILGATE HAS OPENED ALLOWING BED CONTENTS TO SPILL OUT! *TR

BACKUP CAMERA FAILS TO WORK WITHIN DAYS OF TRUCK PURCHASE. DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK DOES NOT ENGAGE WITH REMOTE. WORKS ONLY WITH KEY TO ACCESS OR LOCK. ESTIMATED REPAIR TIMES GIVEN ARE WEEKS VS DAYS. UNACCEPTABLE.
PRE COLLISION ASSIST (W/AEB) THE DISPALY SHOWING IT IS ON BUT IT DOES NOT WORK IN EMERGENCY SITUATION. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS ON A CITY STREET GOING 25 MILES PER HOUR
TRUCK IS BRAND NEW, ODOMETER READS 310 MILES. WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR BROKE FIRST TIME I WAS TRYING TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN. MOTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, VISIBILITY WAS EXTREMELY LIMITED. THIS WAS SUPER DANGEROUS DUE TO DRIVING CURVY COUNTRY BACK ROADS. *TR
FORD TONNEAU TRUCK BED COVER CAME APART AT 75 MPH ON I-10 IN LA. REAR THIRD SECTION WEIGHING 10-20 POUNDS COMPLETELY SEPARATED, LUCKILY STAYED ON THE TRUCK BED. FORTUNATELY IT DID NOT GO AIRBORNE AND STRIKE THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. COVER WAS FLIPPED IN ONE SECTION UP, NO SECUREMENT IS AVAILABLE AT THIS POSITION AND DIRECTIONS ARE NOT VISIBLE. VEHICLE (TONNEAU COVER) ONLY HAD 5,500 MILES ON IT.
THE BACK RIGHT PASSENGER WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO REASON. THE TRUCK WAS SITTING PARKED AND LOCKED. IT SHATTERED AND BOWED OUTWARD FROM THE CABIN. *TR
BACK-UP CAMERA MALFUNCTIONING, WORKS LESS THAN 50% OF THE TIME, GOES OUT SOMETIMES WHEN BACKING UP. I AM TOLD THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ON SOME FORD VEHICLES, HOWEVER THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION. INFORMED REPLACEMENT BACK-UP CAMERA ON BACK ORDER, MAY HAVE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK, OVER 2 MONTHS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A BROAD ISSUE WITH FORD AUTO'S RIGHT NOW AND THE COMPANY IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON WHAT MAY BE A COSTLY SOLUTION.
Since my initial purchase in 2020 I have had issues with the 10-speed transmission. The vehicle often shifts hard from gear to gear, banging harshly, and the vehicle pauses between gears while driving. While my vehicle was under warranty, I had the truck in the Ford dealers shop 5-7 times for that issue with no resolution. I even spoke with Ford back then about this and what happens after the warranty runs out. Even when I had my truck serviced (for my transmission) by another Ford dealership, I heard the comment "Oh yeah, it's the 10-speed transmission". Well, here I am, and my truck has consistently maintained the symptoms even after "repairs" were performed by the dealership, now the truck is so bad it is a road hazard for other vehicles by pausing, shifting out of nowhere, and such poor performance that I had to take it back to Ford and was told that the Transmission needs rebuilt...money out of my pocket that Ford should have fixed while under warranty. Will a rebuild really resolve the recurring issues??? While investigating this issue I found this this is a recurring topic on several forums and even your site lists numerous complaints of this known issue by many Ford owners experiencing the same exact same issues with this transmission. With the volume of complaints, how is this not a recall? Is there any other recourse for us?
BOUGHT TRUCK ON 05/25/2020 . TODAY'S 05/30/2020 . MY TRUCK HAS ONLY 355.7 MILES AND HAS A WARNING ALREADY ' CHARGING SYSTEM SERVICES NOW' . I BEEN DRIVING FROM GALVESTON TEXAS TO WEBSTER TX. AND THE WARNING KEEP POPPING OUT DRIVEN AND EVEN ON FULL STOP. *TR
AFTER 6 WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP AND 1000 MILES OF USAGE, I HAD A FEW EXAMPLES OF POTENTIAL TRANSMISSION ISSUES. FIRST I HAD A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES OF CLUNKS WHEN BEGINNING TO DRIVE IMMEDIATELY AFTER START UP. A COUPLE DAYS AGO I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE YET. AFTER PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT TO WAIT FOR A CURBSIDE PICKUP, I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. UPON RESTART, I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND GAVE A LITTLE GAS AS I PULLED AWAY FROM SPOT GOING FORWARD. THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNK AND THE TRUCK JERKED BEFORE DRIVING NORMALLY. EVEN MY WIFE NOTICED AND MADE A COMMENT ON THE SEVERITY OF THIS INSTANCE. A LITTLE WHILE LATER, STILL DRIVING AFTER THE START UP FROM PARKING SPOT, I EXPERIENCED A HESITATION WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM STOP LIGHT AND SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A QUICK LEFT TURN. AFTER TURNING, THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE HESITATION BEFORE RESUMING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. TODAY ONCE AGAIN I NOTICED A SLIGHT HESITATION PULLING FROM A STOP LIGHT THOUGH NOT AS SEVER AS LAST TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2020 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LANE DEPARTURE AND BLIND SPOT DETECTION FAILED TO ALERT THE DRIVER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT CAMERA SENSORS FAILED TO ALERT THE DRIVER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A WARNING MESSAGE STATING DRIVER ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE, WOULD APPEAR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HARBIN MOTOR COMPANY, INC. (564 MICAH WAY, SCOTTSBORO, AL 35769) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE WINDSHIELD NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CAMERA SENSOR WAS LOCATED INSIDE THE WINDSHIELD. THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 600. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
Every time I drive on the highway at speeds over 45+ mph and a load is on the engine and boost is 5+ psi, the truck shudders and shakes like an engine miss. I took it to the dealership 3 times for this and each time they say it is the transmission and it is "normal". Something is seriously wrong with it. It feels like the engine is going to let loose.
COMPLAINT IS THAT FORD WILL NOT COMPLETE THE WORK ON THEIR RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE FRONT CAMERA INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT WORK. ISSUE STARTED APPROXIMATELY 9-10 MONTHS AGO AT WHICH TIME IT OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 20% OF THE TIME. FORD ISSUED A RECALL NOTICE ON 9/23/20 TO ADDRESS THIS AND AFTER 6 MONTHS THEY STILL WILL NOT REPAIR MY TRUCK. THE FRONT CAMERA FAILS TO OPERATE APPROXIMATELY 90% OF THE TIME AT THIS POINT.
MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH VEHICLE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. REPLACED TWICE. REAR PARKING CAMERA MALFUNCTIOING AFTER TWO REPLACEMENTS. WHENEVER THERE IS RAIN FALL WATER LEAKS INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR. THIS HAS CAUSED MAJOR RUST BUILD UP. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 3K MILES ON IT.
OIL CONSUMPTION ON THE 5.0 LITER V8 ENGINE. THE ENGINE IS CONSUMING OIL WITHOUT EVIDENCE OF AN OIL LEAK. FORD HAS A TSB FOR THIS 19-2365 WHICH COVERS YEAR MODEL 2018-2020. THERE ARE OTHER TSBS FOR OLDER YEAR MODELS WITH THIS SAME ENGINE. FORD SAYS LESS THAN 1 QUART OF OIL CONSUMED IN 3000 MILES OR LESS IS NORMAL. THEIR FIX IS A LONGER AND WIDER DIP STICK AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THIS DOES NOT FIX THE OIL CONSUMPTION. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN OF THE ENGINE BLOCK WITHIN THE CYLINDERS.
MY TRUCK IS 5 MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES TO HAVE THE FRONT CAMERA FIXED. THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE FRONT CAMERA AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. THE TRUCK HAS A FRONT CAMERA SIDE CAMERAS AND A REAR CAMERA. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT DIFFERENT CAMERAS NOT WORKING AND FORD JUST IGNORES IT OR REPLACED THE FAULTY CAMERA WITH ANOTHER SEEMINGLY FAULTY CAMERA. NUMEROUS REPORTS AND NUMEROUS VEHICLES HAVE BEEN TO FORD WITH THE SAME ISSUE, THE CAMERAS FAILING, FRONT SIDE AND BACK UP CAMERAS. ON A TRUCK THAT COST AS MUCH AS THEY DO SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A CAMERA TO HELP PEOPLE BACK UP AND JUDGE THE DISTANCE PULLING INTO PARKING SPOTS IS PATHETIC. MANY PEOPLE WHO DON'T DRIVE TRUCKS OFTEN RELY ON THESE CAMERAS AS A SAFETY FEATURE WHEN BACKING UP OR PULLING INTO SPOTS TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE MOVING 5MPH OR SLOWER FOR THE CAMERAS TO WORK AND PARKED OF MOVING THEY DO NOT WORK.
BACKUP CAMERA NOT WORKING SINCE MARCH SIX MONTHS OF CALLING THE DEALER THEY SAY ITS ON BACK ORDER. HINES PARK FORD WILL NOT SERVICE THE RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. GOT HUNG UP ON TWICE. VARSITY FORD SAME PROBLEM CAMERA ON BACKORDER WILL NOT SERVICE RECALL.
THE ONLY AND IMPORTANT FOR ME IS IN THIRD GEAR IT MAKES A SCARY JERK AND BANG WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING IN SLOW SPEED...MULTIPLE TIMES HAPPEN I TALK IN THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY CHECKED IT AND EVERYTHIN WAS OK...STILL I AM WORRY CAUSE IT CONTINUES DOING IT. IT START ABOUT 03/12/20 TO THE PRESENT
DRIVE MODE MALFUNCTION MESSAGE APPEARS IN MESSAGE CENTER. VEHICLE CANNOT CHANCE DRIVE MODES, SUSPENSION STIFFENS UP, AND ENGINE WILL GO INTO LOW POWER MODE OR COMPLETELY STALLS. MESSAGE HAS RANDOMLY APPEARED ABOUT 6 TIMES NOW. FIRST ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED ON FIRST DAY OF OWNERSHIP AT 118 MILES. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 1600 MILES. 6TH INCIDENT HAPPENED 2 DAYS AGO. *TR
THE FLOOR BOARDS ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS STAYING WET AND HAS CAUSED MOLD TO FORM ON THE CARPET THIS IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE MOLD IS NOT GOOD FOR YOUR RESPIRATORY SYSTEM.
The described vehicle uses approximately 3 quarts of oil every 5000 miles, which is an over consumption of oil. This same issue occurred in another vehicle that we own which has the same year, make and model, but the issue appears to have fixed itself over time in the other vehicle. This issue is still a problem with this vehicle. This issue has been confirmed and unable to be fixed by our city's vehicle shop since we obtained the vehicle in February of 2020. This over consumption issue has been present since the vehicle's purchase. Over consumption of oil could cause oil to run dry while in use, possibly causing the engine to overheat, permanent engine damage, engine seizure, etc.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle was hesitating and downshifted unintendedly. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent at first but had become a recurring failure. The contact stated that he had taken the vehicle to a dealer and was advised that the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated while the transmission was downshifting. The contact had taken the vehicle to the same dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the long block and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but advised the contact that the vehicle was over the mileage for the warranty and not covered. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE FRONT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE DIM, CAUSING A VISIBILITY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER KEN GARFF FORD LOCATED AT 145 HILTON DR, ST. GEORGE, UT 84770, WHO INDICATED THAT THE LIGHTS WERE FACTORY INSTALLED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE LIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
The listed vehicle uses approximately 1 quart of oil every 500 miles, which is a grossly large consumption of oil. This same issue occurred with two other vehicles in our fleet with a similar make and model. One vehicle corrected itself over time. The other uses approximately 3 quarts of oil every 5000 miles. This issue has been confirmed and unable to be fixed by our city's vehicle shop since we obtained the vehicle in January of 2020. Over consumption of oil could cause the oil to run dry while in use, possibly causing the engine to overheat, permanent engine damage, engine seizure, etc.
LATE MODEL FORD TRUCKS REPRESENT A ROAD HAZARD TO ALL OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. THEY CONTINUOUSLY RUN 4 HEADLIGHTS WHICH BLIND ON COMING VEHICLES.
Vehicle failed to shift properly while making multiple left and right turns from a stop (for the record, the vehicle also had shifting problems at other times). This resulted in the vehicle hesitating while entering traffic. Multiple times other vehicles had to beep horns and brake emergently. One time an 18 wheeler almost tboned me while I had my 2 year old some in the back seat. Definitely a safety issue that almost cost my son his life.
Transmission hard shifts. Up and down. At times hard enough that passengers feel this. Concern is how does this affect the life and safety of the vehicle. Ford claims no issues.
