The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and hauling a trailer, the brake lights became inoperable. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
Unknown which component is failing. It started with a rumble while accelerating or coasting but goes away when I shift into neutral so I believe that is the transmission. Other issues that are occurring randomly, speedometer will change indication to slower speed than I am actually going or it will drop to 0 while I am driving. Alerts and faults that have shown at the same time the speedometer goes out are: Powertrain fault, ABS, Forward Collision Warning, Parking Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Keeping Assistance, Cross Traffic Warning. Also a random metallic spinning noise coming from under the truck. It has been in the dealer garage 5 times now.
Vehicle is consuming excessive amounts of motor oil, requiring the addition of 1-2 quarts every 1,200-1,500 miles. Check engine light has illuminated once when engine was five quarts low, this was when I realized the problem. Ford has attempted to correct with TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 19-2365, (5.0L - Excessive Oil Consumption) which I had performed on my vehicle and it did nothing to correct the issue. My greatest concerns are with premature parts failure and unexpected engine failure. I have written letters to Ford regarding this issue and have not received any response to date. I do have records of additional oil added since first realizing the issue existed.
Transmission encountered rough, jerky gear changes, along with delayed acceleration responses referred to as “hesitation" Rapid unexpected deceleration or inability to accelerate complete loss of motive power
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V635000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The driver side led DRL of the headlight is burnt out.
Consistent issues with the 10 speed transmission. There a delay in shifting from 1st to 2nd gear then slams into gear causing a jerky acceleration of speed. Also constant clunking throughout the gears. Extremely flawed adaptive learning system for their 10 speed automatic transmission.
The LED daytime running lights in both of my headlights are going out. The vertical portion is out on each the driver's side, and passenger side headlights. This started on the passenger side headlight about 6 months ago and has progressed to both lights. The diminishes the visibility of my vehicle to other vehicles. Puts all at risk. The headlights are still attached to my truck and available for inspection. I have not taken my truck in for inspection as I am beyond the factory warranty. I have conducted research into the problem and learned there are hundreds, if not thousands of owners with the same issue. There were no warnings of the light failure.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and braking, several safety features disabled independently. The contact stated that the Pre-Collision Assist, ABS, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred often. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
Was slow rolling to stop light at intersection. Vehicle shut down and got an alert that said “auto start stop shift to P, then restart engine”
Normal brakes fail. Only the emergency brake functions and locks up one of the rear tires.
While driving there were no warning indicator lights illuminated on the dash. He stated there were no mechanical defects, noises, or smells to be noted. Near Milepost [XXX] on [XXX] both occupants saw smoke begin to come from under the hood. The employee pulled the vehicle to the side of the road. Both employees exited the vehicle to open the hood. Employee stated he reached down to pull the hood release and when he looked up flames were visible above the hood. Employees moved away from the vehicle and called 911.
Truck was repair as per the recall of the emergency brake however is still applying the parking brake again and took it to have it scan but ford dealer ship says they don't find no codes or anything saying it does and I'm just scared of continuing to put myself and my family at risk when is still applying the emergency brake whenever it wants. So far has done it over 3 times in a period of a few moths after the recall was supposedly been done for that same reason. On the picture I'm posting here is the invoice of the repair of the recall. Is in Spanish part of it but all the numbers of the recall are there
My family and I were driving to a local coffee shop when my dash went off with a low brake fluid warning, I pull over to check and it was bone dry. That pretty odd so I immediately start looking for leaks and discovered the passenger side rear brake line where it connects to the rubber hose and goes to the caliper has a MAJOR leak. I videoed the leak so show how bad it was and where it was leaking from. The rubber hose itself if fine the leak is coming from the metal part of the hose but unfortunately the way to fix the issue is by replacing the hose assembly and according to ford that part is a wearable item, so my extended warranty I paid for it does not cover it. I find it absurd and extremely dangerous that a three-year-old truck has a major brake fluid leak like that and Ford has been no help at all. I’ve spent all day on the phone with them arguing and they don’t seem to care. This is a major safety issue from a clearly faulty part from the manufacturer, and I don’t feel as though I should be responsible with the bill.
The Instrument Panel Cluster will reboot when driving leaving the panel blank with no speedometer or other vital information. The system will reboot after a short time, sometimes multiple times and has occurred when driving at speeds of 30, 35, 50, 65 mph. This reboot leaves the driver without vital information, causes confusion and is a distraction putting the safety of all occupants at risk. This has happened a multiple times and may be is similar to SSM 50294 where emojis causes the Instrument Panel Cluster to go blank or reboot during incoming or outgoing phone calls where there are emojis alongside the text of a name of contact. Unfortunately, I did not learn of this error until I had dropped the vehicle at the dealer and researched myself. I have a heart emoji next to my wife's name and would gladly remove this, but the dealer indicates a full $1000 reboot of multiple systems is the protocol in accordance with Ford manuals and diagnostic trees. I am working with a dealer, but they have been uncooperative in terms of recreating the problem and are only seeking a paid solution with the reboot the entire system an no assurance that this will work. As mentioned above, it seems that this is similar to SSM 502947 for other 2021 F-150s, but the dealership will not confirm and Ford indicates my vehicle is not effected by this error according to my VIN. System failure warnings are also sent to the Ford mobile app when this reboot happens, these warnings are for the Tire Pressure Monitor System, Restraints Indicator Lamp and Antilock Brake Fault. The Ford dealership has had my vehicle for over two weeks with this issue and has not communicated any inspection or attempt to recreate the issue. There is not a repair invoice yet.
The vehicle will occasionally freeze on the infotainment splash screen. This prevents the rear view camera from activating when the vehicle is in reverse. Furthermore, the vehicle has already been serviced for a prior issue where the infotainment system (and rear view camera video) would momentarily freeze (1-4 seconds) when the camera was activated
High-speed highway travel this morning. Switched lanes and pressed accelerator; engine cut out. Seemed to be in no gear for 6-9 seconds before lurching into power again. Incident was very dangerous and forced a rapid slowing in fast lane affecting traffic behind me. This has happened 4 times in the past 8 months.
My windshield wipers stopped working. It seems the wiper motor still kicks on and I can hear it move, but the wipers don’t move and are stuck. It’s almost as if the wipers are off track or something. Once my vehicle was stopped, I was able to move the wipers back down, but it won’t move after that. I can still hear the motor turning on though.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring in the undercarriage was chewed on. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred a month later. The contact stated that while driving 35–40 MPH, an unknown warning light started to flash. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the soy-based wiring had been chewed on by squirrels and chipmunks. The vehicle was repaired. Tire pressure sensor keeps coming on and says it is faulty. The driver side window will not completely roll down( we have done a reset and it will only work once or twice). With the radio it will sometimes not work(we have done a soft reset and it will work a few times and then stop). The last thing the heat shield that is underneath the truck had a recall we got it repaired and since it hangs down, we have taken to the dealership and they repaired it again and will still hand down.

Led DRL burned out both driver and passenger side. Extremely common issue in this generation of F150/similar year model. $1200 per head light assembly replacement to fix the issue.
Tail lamp assembly both sides, allowing moisture within the lighting assembly potentially resulting in short circuit or fire if water comes in contact with electrical connections.

F150 is experiencing interior leaking from the windshield and other areas that Ford is unable to identify the cause. This can cause visibility issues and damage to electrical components resulting in a safety issue. The leaking causes the floor mats to be wet, which have also caused my foot to slip off the control petals. This could cause an accident. Ford is not able to identify the source, they were able to reproduce the leaks in the firewall but can't identify the source. Ford doesn't acknowledge this is a major issue and has only offered to caulk and seal in the most common areas. It was in the shop for four days March 25-27 and 22-23 2024. There are no warning issues just went floor mats and visible water on the interior of my windshield which I demonstrate to the dealership.

I stopped the vehicle in the street after turning wide to back in my driveway. The vehicle lunged forward like it was being pushed. It continued forward, up the curb, paused, then was pushed (moved forward) harder up the incline and into a pine tree. Significant Damage was to the front end. At no time did I accelerate. I was not in control of the car. It threw a message about parking assist on the dash. There were children on the street and I am glad it didn’t run into anyone. Yes you have my consent to check the vehicle data. I am going to file with ford as well. Even if car is fixed I’m afraid to drive it.

Driver door latch and lock failure at extreme cold temperatures. Failed last year could not exit vehicle at Ford dealership. Ford dealership added grease and problem did not occur again for 11 months. Same problem occurred this December. Door latch stays open and will not latch so door has to be held shut by driver while moving down the road. Problem occurred on 4 different days of single digit temperatures during the past 2 years. The ford dealership in Gaylord observed the stuck latch and door not latching. Warning light of door ajar when put into gear and constant warning beeping while driving with an unlatched door.
Loud popping noise from radio. It sounds like gunfire.

This vehicle is equipped with Ford BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system. This system was activated when this occurred and my hands were off the wheel. Driving Southbound on [XXX] in Georgia, [XXX], left-most lane, with an ~8 ft shoulder and barrier, a few miles before mile [XXX], right around Sparks and Adel, GA. There were two dark tire skid marks in the road leading from the lane into the shoulder/barrier. It seemed like the truck thought those tire skid marks were the lines in the road and took the truck with them into the shoulder. Luckily I was paying close attention and consider myself to have quick reflexes. I was able to grab the wheel and correct before the truck got too far out of the lane. Only when the truck started going out of the lane did the system turn off and tell the driver to take control. This dash warning occurred fractions of a second after I grabbed the wheel to correct. I had my dash camera operating at the time, but I was too slow to capture and save the exact occurrence, however I do have an image of the same portion of highway where this occurred. I have uploaded two images. One unedited image and one "example" image of what the tire skid marks looked like in the road. Someone paying less attention or with slower reflexes could have easily ended up in the barrier at 70-80 MPH. The vehicle has not been inspected for this. Other than this incident, it has functioned seemingly fine and without indicating any error codes or check engine lights.
