I started my truck up this afternoon and heard a deafening boom and then loud crackling. At first I thought something fell on my roof and the glass was breaking. After getting out and looking around I realized the noises were coming from the speakers and under the back seat, amp area. The crackling went on for about 5 minutes and didn't stop by shutting the radio off or shutting the truck off. This seems like a very terrible safety issue.
When I took my truck into the dealership to have an oil change and tire rotation done the dealership found that the bolt that holds the hub onto the rear axle had broken so there was nothing holding the hub onto the axle and that the hub and tire could of come off the axle while driving. The dealership said that they had been seeing this issue on other truck
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Excessively Loud Popping Noise B&O Unleashed. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It is so loud that when it happened I slammed on my brakes thinking something exploded. Luckily I was in a gravel driveway on my way out when it happened. It seems to be a problem with AppleCarPlay. It happened when I tried playing an audiobook via wireless carplay and it happened again today with wired carplay and playing some music. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I have not had a dealer look at it yet to others to look at. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The sound is so deafening that my head is ringing and pounding with just a minute the sound going off. I have not had anyone look at it. I want it to stop as quickly as possible. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps or messages.
While driving the vehicle speaker system shorted out and begin playing static and popping noises at full volume. The intensity was so high that the vibrations caused my vision to blur and almost crash the vehicle.
Brakes squeal and screech horribly, at first only when the pickup was moving in reverse but now it’s when coming to a stop. It’s so loud it echos in parking lots and causes people to stop and look to see where the noise is coming from. It’s a constant problem that weather conditions do not affect. Had the vehicle in for service numerous times and Ford refuses to fix it or acknowledge there is a problem. Escalated it to Ford corporate and they also refused to do anything about it. At first I was told to wash the wheels “extra good” and it would be just fine and on the last service attempt I was told that the “brake pads just have so much metal in them by design these noises are 100% normal” but now the pickup seems to be losing stopping power and takes longer to stop than it normally did. Per Ford the brake pads are all 9MM and 10MM and “perfectly fine” but the pickup just does not feel safe. I feel there is definitely defects in the braking system including but not limited to brake pads. And complaints are numerous in the forums and online about the same issues with the F-150 line.
1150 miles on 2022 Ford F-150 super cab 5.0 4x4 10 speed auto the transmission went into a shuddering at 48 mph in 9th gear on level road light acceleration happened the next day also same condition. Also t he e truck lurches forward at times when coming to a stop and shifting out of 3rd gear it jumps need to make sure your not close to anything also when parking put truck in park and it jumped forward
Twice the Truck has had the audio system go haywire. Upon startup the truck speakers hada loud pop followed by and extremely loud static type noise that hurt my ears and I still have a headache 12 hours later. The noise would not stop , the radio appeared normal but no buttons or knobs would change or lower the noise. Upon multiple restarts the noise would not go away I drove 15 minutes to the dealer so they could experience the noise 1st hand. Had there been young children in my truck I feel like they might have suffered hearing damage it was that loud, sounded like a gas leaf blower running at full speed in the cabin of my truck.
Door latches are inoperable from the inside after slamming the door. Three out of four doors have become inoperable from the inside since new. The problem is repairable however I fear that upon a front impact doors will become inoperable and create confined space entrapment. Incidents were 11/1/2022 (rear passenger), 4/12/2023 (driver's), and 6/15/2023 (rear driver's).
Transmission has failed/malfunctioned resulting in two separate inspections/repairs by Ford of West Covina, CA. First inspection on [XXX] and mileage in at 8,954. Complaint of harsh downshift in transmission. Service involved the teardown of the transmission found E clutches burnt. Found excessive clutch material in the main control body valves and scored sticking unable to return freely. Performed overhaul. Replaced E clutches and seals. Replaced main control body. Installed new solenoid strategy. Post road test vehicle OK, however the mileage out of shop was 8,952 on [XXX]. Second inspection on [XXX] and mileage in at 11011. Complaint of clunking noise heard when shifting and going into gear. Service found leaking hydraulic circuit. Teardown found CDF cylinder bushings scored and HUB scored rings torn. Found main control body valves scored sticking unable to return freely Performed overhaul replaced seals. Replaced CDF cylinder and HUB. Replaced main control body. Installed new solenoid strategy. Post road test vehicle OK. Mileage out of shop was 11020 on [XXX]. Two days after this service, transmission made very loud clunk and jerking movement when going into gear and continues to have harsh downshift, clunking noises, and jerking movement when going into gear causing the vehicle to jump forward when braking. This action is putting others at risk of injury/death in the event the transmission fails and is unable to change gear. No warning lamps messages or have appeared. Problems first started to appear within the first six months of purchase date [XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Turned on radio, very loud pop over the speakers followed by static. From being on Ford forums I quickly changed audio sources to make it stop. But for those who do not know this, it could easily cause an accident with being startled and distracted. Ford has not come up with a fix and there are many documented cases.
Windshield wiper doesn’t work into a raining time.
Bolt broke on passenger side rear axle shaft. Bolt retains drive axle shaft into drive wheel. Dealer replaced passenger axle on Nov. 9, 2022 but not driver side. No warning lamp. There was a squeak from axle. This truck has a "Max trailer tow package". I was towing a 6,000 lbs trailer which is within specs. for this truck.
I have the B&O Unleashed sound system, I started the truck up and a very loud noise came from all the speakers. Scared the heck out of me. If I was driving done the road when this happened who knows what could have happened?
Extremely ear piercing loud noise like an explosion coming from radio when vehicle was started. Glad I was not driving as it startled me. This could of caused a major safety issue. From an operational standpoint no volume from the radio until I started the vehicle the next morning. I researched the event and found other owners affected by the same or similar issue. This is why I'm on this site reporting my same experience.
Windshield wipers stopped working. Restarted the truck and this happened repeatedly every 3-5 minutes. Electronic curtesy wiper control also disabled on the screen. (Can't turn off function)

Twice I have been driving my 2022 Ford F150 and I have tried to turn the wipers on when it started raining, and the wipers did not move. 1) This initial time this happened was early Spring 2022. I was driving in the freeway, and it started to rain. I was using the wipers on intermittent, and everything was fine. At some point I turned the wipers off because it stopped raining. When it started to rain again, I turned the wipers on, and nothing happened. I turned them on and off for the next hour or so, with no wiper action. Finally, after about 90 minutes I turned them on again and the wipers worked. 2) The second incident was on 9/17/2022. I was driving in the mountains when it started to rain. The wipers were working fine. The rain stopped, and I turned the wipers off. Then a downpour started. I tried to turn the on, and nothing happened. I turned the wipers on and off several time. Still no wiper action. This became a dangerous situation on a curvy mountain road. I should have stopped driving due to the lack of wiper action and the fact it was dusk and I was about out of daylight. I chose to drive on, but that was a reckless decision at best. About an hour later the wipers started to work again. I've taken the truck into Crater Lake Ford for the wipers. In the end, I gather they tested them, found they were working fine, and did nothing to fix the problem. I'm very concerned that I will get caught out in a rainstorm again and the same problem will happen again.
This vehicle is under Safety Recall 22C22 and NHTSA Campaign Number 22V686000. Ford said a remedy was supposed to be available January 2023. There still has not been a remedy put out by Ford to fix this safety issue. Ford also has not put out any updated info as far as this recall is concerned.
Rear axle bolts on max tow package 9.75 axle sheared off of both ends. Second one resulting in axle fluid to leak out of the end, requiring entire axle replacement.

There were no warning indicator lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, or fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer sent two engineers and the insurance company sent an engineer to evaluate the vehicle and requested to take possession of the event data recorder but the owner declined. The manufacturer was contacted, who provided a case number but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 3,500.
After starting the vehicle, I heard a loud pop and then loud static that couldn't be turned off. The sound is very deafening and hazardous to babies with developing ears. Has happened twice already in the past week.

B&O Unleashed Stereo system will produce deafening sound, volume maxed out. The sound is a screeching pulsing sound. It makes your ears ring it is so loud. When you turn the vehicle off it still makes the sound. Turning any of the radio dials does not lower the volume or get it to shut off. You have to get out of your vehicle and wait for the stereo to shut off, can be up to 10 minutes for that to happen. There is no way to drive with it make that noise. You have to pull over and wait for it to stop. This has happened twice in my 6 months of ownership, dealer say the typical, "Can't reproduce it".
When applying brakes, the response time in incredibly slow. Sometimes when the brake is applied half way down, the truck tends to skid on the road.
Air conditioning unit does not work after about 30 minutes of operation.
This brand new 2022 truck is less than a month old. Windshield wipers were turned on at normal speed (not intermittent) and the wipers froze at the vertical position. Adjusting the wipers control knob did nothing, and about 15 seconds later the wipers resumed proper function. Five minutes later, they froze again at the same position. This was very dangerous to lose visibility in a heavy rain.
There are two things that have been happening, and are widely prevalent on different online forums as well. 1) While the vehicle is on the stereo will end up going into a loud max volume crackling and popping and won't shut off even when the truck is turned off. This has already caused an accident. Please see attached forums: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/dangerous-b-o-sound-system-issue.9254/ https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/gremlins-ii-crackling-static.93548/ https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/extremely-loud-electrical-pop-followed-by-loud-static.9591/ https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/my-ears-are-hurting-b-o-sound-system-goes-crazy-safety-issue.91946/ 2) Headlight DRL on Ford Raptor flickers while driving and is clearly a violation of NHTSA safety guidelines.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that he had placed the vehicle into park, engaged the parking brake, and removed the key from the ignition as he went to unload a trailer attached to the vehicle. While the contact was removing a tractor from a trailer, the vehicle independently rolled forward without warning. As the vehicle continued to roll forward, the vehicle jackknifed to the left which brought the vehicle to a stop. The failure bent both the trailer hitch and the trailer frame. Despite the failure, the vehicle resumed normal operation and the contact was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer for an inspection. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired or diagnosed. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light had remained illuminated, and the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who reprogrammed the PCM, but the failure persisted. The contact also stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle rolled. The failure had occurred with the engine running and with the vehicle turned off. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Purchased a vehicle with a cord dealership and found out it had a recall (22C22) front light flicker. I was unable to take the vehicle off the lot. Found out this recall has been in effect since roughly August 2022 with no remedy to fix as of yet. I have been checking daily for updates and still nothing! I really want this vehicle and it’s been 5 months since the recall to effect with no fix! Aggrivating
EXCESSIVE LOUD STATIC NOISE / CRACKING FROM MY 2022 F150 PLATINUM B & O UNLEASHED RADIO. LASTED FOR ABOUT 3 TO 5 MINUTES WHILE ON SATELLITE RADIO.

Constant Transmission Issues with the 10R80 Ten Speed transmission. One Complete replacement and Numerous Tear Dow's Since with the Issue Still unresolved. The vehicle we feel is Unsafe and Not reliable by any stretch of anyones Imagination! This Vehicle has 14,700 Miles on the Odometer, as we just don't drive it that Much due to the unresolved Issue's that the FORD CORP deems "NORMAL" Operation's of said Truck??
I was driving on the interstate at 60mph when we were caught in a downpour. We were pulling a 7000lb trailer and the windshield wipers completely stopped working. Visibility was virtually zero. I was in the right lane and was able to navigate to the shoulder. I could tell I was on the shoulder due to the rumble strips. Once on the shoulder I was able to get the wipers to reset and become functional again. Every time I get caught in rain I get to the right lane in case of a failure. The vehicle is available for inspection. Our safety was put at risk. The problem has not been reproduced but an appointment is scheduled with the dealership. The vehicle has not been inspected (not sure where to take it). There were no warnings prior to the failure.
I had just purchased my truck not even 30 days and the wipers went out. It was a very rainy day and the wipers just stopped. I had to pull over and get a tow truck to take me to the dealer. I was unable to see and almost hit a car parked on the side of the road because I could not see. I have talked to Ford and the dealer and they both tell me that this is an ongoing issue with no resolution. They have over 600 customers for the 2022 model year with the same issue on non working wipers . They told me it could be 2 to 8 months before they start producing wiper motors for repair. They suggest rainx until the issue is resolved??? My truck is currently parked in the dealer lot. This truck was not appart of the recall like my other truck was. Shouldnt this be part of the recall also and maybe a stop sale until they fix this?
Extremely loud short static noise when trying to play audio through B&O Unleashed sound system that was factory equipped with my F150. After static I lost all audio. I changed input and the extremely loud short static noise happened again, this time with continuous clicking at full volume after the static stopped. Volume controls were completely unresponsive, I also could not turn audio off. The full volume continued until the vehicle was turned off and parked for over 10 minutes. After that everything worked as it should.
Car was in the driveway and refused to start. Back light flashed and the battery died. I stated to the dealership that the adaptive cruise was not working. The dealership stated that it was working and that they test drove it and it was working. I brought it in a second time and stated the adaptive cruise was not working. Again the dealership stated that it was working. Third time I complained and they admitted that the factory had not installed adaptive cruise and that the vehicle did not have the sensors for the Pre-collision Assist w/AEB. They would wait for the parts and install the necessary hardware. Prior to delivery my vehicle had a Factory Hold on it . Ford did not warn me that safety features I had paid for were not installed. Ford had their dealer deny that my vehicle was missing these safety features. These missing safety features and Ford"s denial put myself and others at risk. These safety features was why I bought a new truck in the first place. Ford and its dealers did not act in a responsible or ethical manner with complete disregard for safety.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle, he became aware that the interior lights were not functioning as needed. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the high beam headlights were inoperable, even though the indicator light was illuminated. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality; however, the failure had become a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000.
The computer/s that control every piece of equipment does not function as designed! The cruise control adjusted the speed (upward) without touching the controls. The lane keeping function will drag the truck into a turnout lane, left or right especially on a two lane highway with turn out lanes. The windshield wiper control has to be constantly manipulated to keep the windshield clean during snow and or rain storms. The instrument panel constantly changes which distracts the driver as so does the computer screen. The pre collision equipment works only sometimes. All the computers installed affect the function of other computers which causes driver distraction, like txt and driving.
The tailgate opens without warning and no warning is given when it opens. The tailgate opens without warning while driving, parked and not running. This has opened on me several time causing numerous safety issues to include contents of my bed falling out on the roadway while driving. The tailgate has opened as my young daughter was walking by and it nearly striking her in the head. As I left the store today when I returned to my vehicle the tailgate was down and had opened while I was not in or near the vehicle. I contacted the dealership where the vehicle was purchased and was told that there is no recall or fix for the issue at this time. I was told they are aware of the issue but could not fix it. There are no lights, sounds or warnings to when the tailgate will open.
Vehicle equipped with B&O "Unleashed" stereo system experienced uncontrollable, high-volume deafening speaker volume that would only stop if the vehicle was turned off. I started my vehicle and heard an extremely loud pop and deafening "white noise" from all speakers in the truck cabin. Happened in both Run and Accessory modes. Noise started ~3 sec after start, would not stop until I turned off car and opened door (and then ~3 sec until noise stopped). Turning radio power and touchscreen off had no effect. Turning off all phones with Bluetooth connections had no effect. After waiting ~10 min with power off, the sound finally stopped. If I had been driving at the time, the sudden and extreme noise could have caused me to react in a way to lose control of the vehicle, as well as suffer hearing loss. If my child had been in the car, it would have frightened her and definitely injured her hearing. I believe that I saw a pop-up message regarding an over-air system update on the touchscreen the first time it started...I don't remember if it was about sending data to Ford or if an over-air update had just been performed. Had an issue about a month ago with a similar pop-up but that time there was no noise, just the touchscreen stayed dark for about 10 minutes.
