2022 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO TWO NHTSA SAFETY RECALLS. THE CONSUMER SCHEDULED REPAIRS FOR THE RECALL, BUT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER, FORD ISSUED A MEMO NO REPAIR WORK SHOULD BE DONE.
The contact’s wife leases a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed in a snowstorm, the windshield wipers ceased to work and the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. The contact’s wife waited 6 hours for towing assistance to arrive and was pulled out of the ditch. There was no injury sustained. The contact did not know whether a police report was filed. The contact’s wife was able to drive away from the scene. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the windshield wiper motor had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) as the VIN was not included. The failure milage was 4,000.
Starting at roughly 2000 on the odometer the truck began shifting very harshly, missing gears, slipping gears, lurching forward during shifts. Upon acceleration through the first four or so gears, there is a very loud "thunking" sound presumably upon shift. There have been 4-5 times I was turning across traffic at a safe distance, and the truck would not accelerate, missing several gears. I was almost hit hard several times because of the truck failing to drive. Dealership turned me away 3 times, saying they would not be able to diagnose anything without a CEL code. Since the truck doesn't throw any fault codes they would not take it in for troubleshooting or attempt to reproduce the issue. The issues were reproduced by a local shop I took the truck to for a third party opinion. The loud thunk was thought to be too low a lubricant level on the slip yoke where the drive shaft meets the transmission. The shop checked and there was sufficient lubricant. They reproduced the thunk sound driving slowly with several technicians witnessing the issue standing within sight distance. These known and reproducible issues with the 10R80 transmission and there have been an exorbitant number of reports of this behavior in owner message groups, all with the same lack of resolution. Dealerships either don't fix the issue, won't troubleshoot without a CEL code, or say the transmission is working as designed.
The contact owned a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the accelerator pedal suddenly traveled to the floorboard, and the vehicle accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle and came to a complete stop after colliding with a tree. The contact also stated that the failure had occurred four times prior to the collision, with multiple incidents resulting in property damage. The air bags did deploy. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact was transported to an area hospital by EMT and treated for a cut on his left wrist. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 1,500.
Vehicle is being held at dealership due to recall 22V686 (Ford 22C22) "Front Lamp Park Flicker". The bulletin states the Ford would have a remedy for F-150 vehicles in January 2023. As of this writing there is no remedy yet available, and no updates have been provided by Ford. Ford has exceeded the reasonable time allotted to provide a fix or update on when the fix may be available.
Speakers from the sound system produced a deafening static noise that could not be stopped unless vehicle was stopped and shut off. Potential for serious accident as the noise came on without warning and can not be stopped when driving down road. After vehicle sat off for 15 minutes the system came back as if nothing happened.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 22V686000 (Exterior Lighting) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced the failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
We were parked after being out at a restaurant for dinner. Turned the vehicle on and a sonic boom explosion of noise from the radio/speakers followed by very loud static. I would estimate the dB level to be 150 plus. Left my ears ringing for hours followed by aching. I had my children in the back seat of the vehicle and it was very unsettling for them. Removed them from the car. Turned it off and locked the vehicle. Restarted and the same thing happened. Could not get it to stop Had a friend drive my children home and drove the car home (15 minutes) with the noise continuing the whole way home.
Twice now on my truck there has been a loud noise that comes from the vehicle from the speakers. On December 19th I got into the vehicle and there was very very loud noise that came from the speakers then lost all audio. On February 9th there was a very very loud horn like noise that came from the vehicle then a static noise then lost audio. Both these times the next day all was fine.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
Wipers nest down lower on the windshield when turned off. The wipers freeze to the windshield since they are below the defroster area causing them to stick and not operate in winter driving.
rear camera displaying a very cloudy picture. almost can't see what is behind vehicle
Both door locks freeze up in temps below 20 F. I cannot enter the vehicle and am stuck with no transportation.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine and transmission warning lights illuminated, and the Check 4x4 and Check Locking Differential messages were displayed. Additionally, while driving, there were popping sounds heard coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle also rolled about 4-6 inches while the transmission was in park (P). The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, only the Check Locking Differential message was displayed. The dealer reset the Check Locking Differential message. The failure recurred with the Service Rear End message displayed and abnormal sounds coming from both the front and rear ends of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (Power Train) for which the VIN was included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and was shaking. Additionally, the instrument panel intermittently went blank while driving. The contact stated that the dealer had previously performed an unknown repair; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
There is an outstanding recall (NHTSA 22V686, Ford 22C22) for Front Park Lamp Flicker. The original notice stated the fix would be available in January. January is now past, and no updates on the status of this fix has been provided by Ford. I am filing this complaint in an effort to obtain an update on when this fix should now be expected.
I ordered an f150 in march of 2022 The build date was April of 2022 It was apparently stored in a harsh environment for 10.5 months It was January 31 of 2023 before I received the truck The windshield was pitted and visibility was diminished, especially with early or late sun There were also apparently chemicals on the inside of windshield that were difficult to remove even after 10+ attempts at cleaning. Complaint was filed through the MN attorney general office to ford motor and nothing was done. I brought back to dealer on 4/24/23 Windshield was finally changed on 5/19/23 Visibility was definitely hindered and I feel all vehicles made and stored by ford in this manner should be recalled and inspected.
Since first taking delivery of the vehicle, the front windshield has exhibited poor visibility and significant glare, especially in rain during the evening/night, due to what appears to be a film of some sort. The windshield impairs visibility to the extent that it scares me to drive in rain, producing a sort of cataract effect on your vision. My local Ford dealer in Louisiana attempted to address by replacing the windshield wipers and cleaning the windshield on at least three separate occasions over the course of six months, yet the issue persists. Like another complainant with the same issue (NHTSA ID no. 11524402), Ford stored my truck for months while awaiting chips to finish the vehicle. As of 6/21/23, my local dealer is communicating with corporate Ford regarding windshield replacement.
When I pushed the start button on my 900 mile F150 limited that I only had 6 months, I heard a very very loud noise that sounded like a bomb going off in the truck. After I gathered myself and verified nobody damaged my truck or windows and with my ears still ringing, I heard very loud static noise coming from all the speakers. I thought the loud noise that came through the speakers actually blew them out. I turned off the radio, but the speakers were still making loud static noises. I then tried to turn on am station, and the radio worked fine. If this would of happened while I was driving, I probably would of had an accident.
Ford dealership, Soul Lake Ford, in Sour Lake Texas states that they will not order or make entry to fix a recall notice from Ford due to no parts available. So they stated wiper motor fails while in service they will repair as priority need. I stated the recall states failure can cause potential crash risk. They refused to put me on a repair call list. I call customer complaints at Ford and they didn’t resolve. So no to take care of recall.
Driving down road with radio on( apple car play) there was an extremely loud sound from all my speakers that made me close my eyes in pain and almost swerve lanes. It sounded like all my speakers blew. The radio no longer worked and i had to wait until the next day for it to operate as normal. I am concerned now to have my baby in the vehicle and have this happen.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I was driving and all the sudden an insanely loud sharp BEEP noise started and would not stop. It was coming from the speakers. I could not get it to stop. It was so loud I have lost hearing in my left ear. I had to exit the truck and disconnect the battery. Others are having this issue and Ford has no recall.
While entering the highway, speakers produced a deafening static noise, no way to control or stop the noise. It was certainly well above the level for hearing damage concerns, but also made it nearly impossible to drive safely. System was completely unresponsive to any attempt to turn off/reset/etc. There were no indicators/etc, and it finally stopped itself randomly. The only way I can try to describe how extreme this problem is, is to say imagine someone firing a gun next to your ear while you attempt to drive. Had it happened only a few minutes later while merging into traffic, it very possibly could have caused an accident.
Experienced multiple incidents where the vehicle battery has been either damaged by the vehicle itself or receiving multiple defective OEM batteries. Vehicle has been brought into Ford service centers at least twice for low charge on battery. Each time, the Ford service technicians have identified a "dead cell" in OEM battery. This condition makes the vehicle unsafe to drive. The resulting low charge has resulted in erratic/unpredictable transmission/engine/electronics performance while driving. This includes low power, shifting problems, and start-stall-start "lurching" in various driving conditions. Service centers have never identified the cause of the battery drain (alternator checks ok). They just keep replacing the battery and the problem reoccurs 2-3 months later.
In cold weather the automatic side mirrors freeze shut and unable to open. Safety Hazzard while driving. Had this happen to me 4 times where passenger side mirror would not open, had to go to work and drove with 1 side mirror. 1 incident where both mirrors froze shut and when they were trying to open sounded like they were going to break off. Live in South Dakota conditions get cold and features should be operational. Should have a mirror defrost? Deployable side steps have the same issue in the cold, they stick and freeze shut, I need to use them to get in.
See attached document for complaint.
Description: Upon starting the vehicle there was an extremely loud "popping" sound through the speakers followed by a constant static/popping noise coming through the speakers at max volume. The sound is not responsive to any adjustments to the stereo volume and is persistent even with the volume set to "0" or "off". The only remedy was to turn the vehicle off, close the door and lock the vehicle. Even then, the issue continued upon startup until I disconnected to battery to reset the the system. This has happened 3 times in the past 4 months. Dozens of other Ford F-150 Raptor owners have reported the same issue but in every case, the dealer is unable/unwilling to find the issue. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Stereo/Speakers. Yes. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The noise is extremely loud to the point where hearing damage could be caused within a very short period of time, especially for young children which I have. The sounds is also extremely startling and if this happened while driving, could prevent the driver from being able to safely operate the vehicle. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem was not reproduced at the dealer while they had the vehicle, but they are aware and were unable/unwilling to resolve the issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by the local Ford dealer but they were unable/unwilling to find the root issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear?
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle downshifted from 10th gear to 3rd gear. The vehicle slid across the roadway. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle could be driven in low gear; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission seized in 1st gear. The vehicle was towed to Village Motors, Inc. (784 Wooster Rd, Millersburg, OH 4465) but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred him to the local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 10,703. The contact stated that the dealer was unable to do anything for the vehicle because the issue could not be replicated nor did the dash show any codes. But finally the contact was able to provide proof of the failure to the dealer. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer have a solution to this issue.
Rear window shatter and blowout. Glass sent into the bed. Simply by shutting the door hard. Im a 3rd party bodybuilder who was sent this truck to add a landscaping package to, brand new, no mileage. For the initial measurement it was brought into the shop. After measurements when we were complete it was moved back outside. Simply revering back 20 feet and parking it outside the roll up doors, got out, shut the door and window blew out. Rear window has become a large bubble facing out towards the bed and some glass tempered glass blew into the bed. Local Ford dealer Service Manager was contacted and I was told Ford has no provisions for rear glass replacement from breakage. I was offered our pictures showing the large bubble it made, or the video surveillance. Didnt want it. Provided me with an 800-392-3673 who took my information and then scheduled with that same dealership for the next morning. Same Ford truck team member also contacted the warranty support fleet team, who promptly said no warranty and didnt have to look at any pictures or video since they offer no glass warranty other than front window glass with special circumstances. Did not care there were Ford forums listing the same damage or this issue littered on Google.
Started the truck and there was a loud pop followed by every speaker in the truck blasting an ear-splitting machine-gun like sound. The volume and audio power controls had no effect. Shutting down the truck and opening the door stopped it, but it immediately start again when the truck was started. After several restarts, I hit the F-150 forums and found that pulling fuse 28 from the passenger footwell would stop it so I could drive the truck home. The next day I put the fuse back in and the issue has not reoccurred. I took the truck into the dealer at the next appointment and they were not able to reproduce the issue or find any codes (they listened to music at various volumes and channels for 20 minutes trying to reproduce it, even though I told them I had driven 25 hours since then without it happening). This issue is well known on the Ford F-150 forums with reports of some dealers trying reprogramming or replacing modules, but no conclusive fix that I've heard of. I have a video of it occurring, but the upload won't take video.
The compass information is not accurate on my vehicle. It gets stuck on North or randomly other directions and does not work. I know there are two TSBs out, one for 21s and then a second for early 22s. My truck is an August build so the TSBs do not apply. I have taken it to the dealership and they have preformed updates but it is still not working. I have a coworker with a similar build date and his truck is doing the same thing. I have checked with others on the F150 forums and its being reported as well. This calls into question if the compass is not reading right on the instrument panel what else on the panel may not be reading right?
Axle bolts sheared off on both driver and passenger sides. Problem was discovered during tire rotation.
Deafening sound, speaker pop and random static/buzz sound coming through speakers at random times to include forward /reverse driving, changing gears etc.
Sound system randomly stops working and makes an extremely load cracking and popping sounds. Usually happens a few minutes after start up
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, she attempted to use the windshield wipers and they were frozen. The contact stated that she contacted a dealer; however, she was informed that the parts were not available and that the wipers had to suffer a complete failure prior to the recall being completed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
On Dec 27, 2022 I was involved in a collision where my F150 would not come to a complete stop at an intersection /red light. I approached the vehicles at the light breaking to slow down but the truck drive gear did not disengage, and I struck the vehicle in front of me at about 2-3mph and then proceeded to push the vehicle into the car in front of them all while I was fully applying the break (foot of the gas pedal). It was not until I put the truck in neutral and turned it off that it stopped pushing the other vehicles. I did not receive any warnings or notification lights on my truck prior or during the impact/pushing. It as if the F150 didn't see the vehicle in front of it and the auto drive system engaged as if it had a mind of its own. I have spoken to Ford Corp regarding the issue and they have advised me to have the vehicle inspected but my local Ford dealers are refusing to run a diagnosis on the vehicle prior to having it repaired thus causing an impasse all while I'm very nervous driving this truck out of fear of it happening again. 01/09/2023-Manufacturer Safety recall issued NHTSA #22V842 Recall #22S71 WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT Status: Remedy Available
I was leaving the neighborhood and all of the sudden the forward collision warning went off for no reason, luckily the vehicle did not apply automatic brakes. I'm afraid if I was driving on the highway and the system went off for no apparent reason it could apply brakes and cause a crash. The electrical system is randomly setting off all kinds of error messages including random alarms in the middle of the night. The truck is less than a year old with only about 10K miles...the major concern is the forward collision warning that could potentially cause a crash.
Any 2021 f150 or newer with the max tow package has faulty rear axle shaft bolts that are installed from the factory. These bolts shear off within the first 10k of driving and ford has yet to issue a recall for this. A sheared off axle shaft bolt can cause a failure in the rear differential or a wheel to fall off potentially causing an accident. There are many reports of this failure all over the internet. Just google "2021 f150 axle shaft bolt sheared off" for more examples like the one I am submitting
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed uphill, the vehicle lost motive power. Additionally, the display screen was black. The vehicle was taken to an independent dealer; however, no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Shortly after taking delivery of my brand new F150, I noticed a substantial grinding sound and vibration intermittently presenting at both high and low speeds, with no change when shifting gears or slowing down. No warning lights were activated. All instances appeared to occur during below freezing temperatures. I immediately brought to our local Ford dealer who believes the vehicle is partially engaging the four wheel drive system in error. They have reported this to Ford and advises there is no known diagnoses or solution.
On Friday, December 9th 2022 I started my truck via pressing the push start button in the truck. The vehicle started and went through its normal start up procedures. However - once the Sync 4 infotainment screen began to come to life an extremely loud Pop - followed by a max volume static played for a few seconds. I was extremely confused and immediately attempted to turn the volume down using the volume control but it had no effect. At first - the pop was so loud I thought the noise was my window shattering but realized it was my stereo after the static began. Their was no active audio playing when this event occurred and after the static subsided, my speakers were unable to play any sounds until I turned the vehicle off overnight. My ears are still ringing from this event 2 days later - this is a massive safety hazard and one that seems to be getting no attention from Ford.
Stereo/Infotainment system loud bang followed by increasingly loud static through the speakers. Occured 20 or so seconds after starting the truck and driving down the road. Happened around 2800 miles and has only happened once. Initial bang was startling and the static noise was distracting which could have caused an accident. Volume button non functional. Stopping and shutting vehicle completely off and on momentarily did nothing. After letting the truck sit off and locked for 5min+ the sound finally stopped and everything returned to normal. There was a distinct burning smell left in the truck for the rest of the day. Ears were left ringing for a couple hours after. Possible ear damage from this. Luckily there wasn't anyone else in the vehicle that could have suffered from ear damage. Dealer is aware of the issue but hasn't looked at the truck as duplicating the issue is near impossible. No warning lamps or anything visually different from normal. I have video of the static noises.
On the morning of 12/7/2022 I got in the truck and turned it on. All the speakers made a super loud pop/bomb/gun going off sound. Then all the speakers were making a super loud crackling sound. Had no control over the audio volume, ect. Turned it the truck off and back on, still nothing but the crackling sound. 12” screen and digital dash were acting weird also (delayed coming on and not synced when powering on). After several minutes started the crackling stopped and it started playing music from my carplay. Kids said they smelt a burning smell. On 12/9/2022 it happened again. Got in and before I even started it it made a loud bomb going off sound when the digital dash and 12” screen was starting up. Then it was fine.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while pulling out of the dealer's parking lot on the day the vehicle was purchased new, the windshield wipers failed to operate as needed. The contact stated the windshield wipers were not clearing the water off the windshield effectively. The contact stated that the failure had increased significantly. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1. Parts distribution disconnect.
Upon entering our 22 F150 Platinum, closing the doors, and pushing the ignition button, a very loud explosion was heard followed by a loud crackling noise that continued around the entire top of our truck. The control panel then went completely black. This explosion was so loud that our ears were ringing for hours afterwards. If we had been driving the truck when this happened we could have had an accident. We tried to turn the radio down as this explosion came on full blast in all 18 speaks, but had no control. We had to leave the vehicle and wait. Once it stopped and we reentered the vehicle, it smelled like something was burning. There has to be something wrong with the B & O amplifier in these vehicles. I have read a number of other complaints, so I know we are not alone. One person drove it to the dealer and the service manager heard it and said it had to be an amplifier problem. Another person was told to pull fuse number 28 out to get it to stop. If I paid $80,000 for my truck, I should not have to deal with this. How can I get this fixed?
First I heard a rattling sound coming from the back .Tough it was something in the bed. Finally went away 3 days later. To realise I lost the wheel center cap on driver side. 2 weeks later while checking to order a new center cap, I notice the center bolt thats supposed to retain the axle has been broken flat and is completely missing. This can cause the axle to drive itself into the differential housing and eventually lead to no powertrain and/or locking the wheel. This bolt also put the preload on the bearing and therefore be dangerous to loose the wheel if not noticed soon enough and cause bearing to wear prematurely or even split apart. Called the local ford dealer as soon as I noticed and they told me to not use the truck if possible and If I had to to not put any load on the back since they didnt have a replacement truck for now and it could be dangerous. Had to drive 2 other weeks before getting a temporary one since it is the truck I gain my money with, knowing that any moment I could loose my wheel on the highway. They finally had to replace the axle and put new bolt in under warranty. This seems to be a recurring problem from what I see on the internet. Truck had about 15 000 kms when it happened. I am afraid this will happen again on either side since this problem seems to be reoccuring even to truck that had them changed. Please do something about this, ford seems to have no real fix for this and just changes the parts and hope for the best when it happens.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact researched online and became aware that the VIN was subjected to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V685000 (Exterior Lighting) and 22V842000 (Visibility); however, the parts for both recall repairs were unavailable. The dealer had been notified about the recalls and confirmed that parts for both recalls were not yet available. The manufacturer had been notified of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
At times when starting vehicle or when driving the sound system makes a tremendously loud gunshot noise and then full volume static from all of the speakers. Only goes away after disconnecting battery or pulling fuse 28. This scares the crap out of you and could easily cause an accident. Ford dealers have no fix from Ford and per the internet I have found that many many other F150 and Raptor owners are having this same issue. This needs to be addressed by Ford ASAP before a tragedy occurs. It is that loud and frightening!
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH on a mountain dirt road and taking a turn to the right, the brake pedal was depressed and the contact had a braking power failure. The contact turned the vehicle to the left and crashed into the side of the mountain. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled up the side of the mountain on the passenger side. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled onto its side and was left on the roadside. The contact stated that the side curtain air bags on the driver's and passenger's side had deployed when the vehicle rolled onto its side. The contact stated that he had called for a tow, but the vehicle had not been taken to a dealer or mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
