There are times that my 2022 Ford F150 Powerboost will not accelerate. Mostly if I roll in a turn and press on the gas pedal. I don't hear anything, like it's a auto/stop issue. I'll have to come to a complete stop, or I'll have to leave my foot on the pedal, then it's like it kicks on with high RPM. There's no warning lights or messages. This time while I was on the highway during stop and go traffic.

Transmission slipped from 4 to 1st while driving almost crashing my truck
I was driving around 35-40mph, slowing down, heading to a right hand turn lane. No vehicles in front of me. As I crossed over my lane into the turn lane my e-brake automatically came on and my pre collision braking light came on. No warning, nothing caused by me, and I have no clue how it happened. I had to physically pull the e-brake lever to release the brakes on a major road.
Drivers side DRL out causing a safety hazard for other drivers
My F150, like many others that I've read about in the forums, has an issue with the internal cabin temperature. It blows way too hot and isn't adjustable as designed. Clearly, this in itself is not a safety concern and rather an inconvenience that Ford won't seem to figure out and fix. The issue is that when the heat is turned to High (which is meant to be around 85F), it blows out air at around 160F and this can easily burn someone who touches the vents - such as my young kids. Ford needs to resolve this safety (and inconvenient) concern.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the front low-beam headlights and fog lights turn off and on independently. Additionally, after turning the vehicle off, the fog lights continued flickering off and on. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was previously repaired under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V686000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 40,000.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the underbody heat and noise insulator was slightly detaching from the vehicle coming into contact with the driveshaft. The contact researched Online and found NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V986000 (Power Train, Structure), however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,000.
Excessively hard transmission gear changes int eh 2, 3, 4 gear range. Happens in cold weather. Happens when accelerating and when down shifting. Gear shift is so violent it rattles the vehicle. Vehicle still operational, but long lime viability is not good. Feels like changing gears in a standard transmission but without using the clutch.
The contact called on behalf of her husband who drives a 2022 Ford F-150 fleet vehicle owned by his employer. The contact stated that the driver's side front door latch had to be pulled extremely hard to close. I am constantly receiving error messages that pop up while driving telling me that there is a headlight system malfunction. I have also had adaptive cruise control lane. Keep assist and associated features.Uh pop up as error warnings. My headlights are cornering headlights while driving. They have failed by moving to the downward and inward position and stayed in that position, significantly reducing my visibility. My alarm constantly goes off for no reason. While driving, the speaker system makes a very loud noise. That almost sounds like a gunshot.Hitting the windshield, which is extremely frightening and will cause you to jerk in response. I have taken this back to the dealership five times trying to get this diagnosed, and it still cannot be fixed. I have asked that this be considered a lemon. Due to covid, my diagnostic time was pushed back beyond the one year mark, so I was not able to get the first diagnosis until after mao one year of owning the vehicle.
DRL lights have gone out at under 3 years.
Windshield wipers stop working for minutes at a time. Then work and pause off an on half way up the Windshield. The tailgate won't stay up. It will drop open all on its own when driving even when it's locked.

The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Parking light flickers when key is in close proximity or truck is unlocked from the remote. Parking light continues to flicker when truck ignition is on and truck is stationary in park. Once the vehicle is put into drive the flickering stops.
Ford has an outstanding Technical Service Bulletin (24-2039) that they have not notified me in a timely manner. If they had done so, it was have been replaced by Ford at their expense, either as part of bumper to bumper warranty or as a recall. Instead, the only way to find error is to have Service department run a system wide check. Ford dealer technician also feels its should be part of a recall. It's an expensive repair, $655 to replace the DC/AC inverter. This should be a recall item and notices should go to car owners.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
Started truck then we heard a loud pop, similar to a gun shot. Then we heard crackling through the speakers. Audio volume controls were ineffective as well as radio on/off controls. Turned truck off and restarted no pop this time but the crackling continued. I called my local Ford dealer to schedule a service appointment for the next afternoon. Then next day when I was driving the truck to work the crackling continued for several minutes then the sound system went back to normal. That afternoon, 12/4 after work I drove the truck to the dealer I had purchased the truck from to drop it off. I reported the situation to the service advisor and he said since the sound system does not throw codes it would not be able to be diagnosed unless the problem duplicated itself which I would have to leave the truck for an extend period of time.
Passenger side vertical DRL is not working.
Have contacted 2 different Ford dealers starting from November 2024, when I bought the truck, to get this recall repaired. Dealers tell me they'll order the parts and get back to me, but never call me back. When I call them they tell me there's nothing they can do. This recall was issued in August of 2023. I've recieved 4 different recall letters since November of 2024 for different probmems related to my truck. It's been 2 years that have gone by with no remedy to repair this recall of the axle bolts breaking...I guess they're waiting until I'm in an accident and sue them before they'll do anything....This is BS...!
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at 20 MPH, the contact rear-ended the vehicle in front of the contact's vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle that was in front of the contact's vehicle slammed on the brakes, and the contact rear-ended the vehicle. The contact's vehicle was severely damaged to the front of the vehicle. In addition, the air bags did not deploy. The Police and the Paramedics were at the crash location. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the collision center. The contact was the only occupant in the vehicle. The contact was transported to the local hospital. The contact received medical treatment to the right side of his body and multiple X-rays. In addition, the contact sustained severe pain to the right side of his body and sustained pain to his head which required prescribed pain and muscle relaxer medication. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,800.
My rear passenger side window will not go back up. It is constantly receiving power to pull the roll the window down. This is a known problem in the community. If you visit any Ford F-150, Explorer, or Maverick forum, there are post about work arounds on how to get the window up and temporarily get the window to stay up until the part comes in to repair it the correct way. Many of the people are posting that it is a known problem and the Dealerships are just "Yeah, we know, the parts are on back order, we can get you scheduled when it comes in". My argument is that if it is a known issue, why is the Manufacturer waiting until the owner reports it to perform the repair. Especially, because due to the constant power being applied, it could burn up the power window motor, safety interlocks for auto up/down, or if the materials get too hot eventually causing other electrical issues. From what I have found online it appears to be a known problem affecting mainly 2021-2022 year model vehicles.
At idle, the vehicle will shutter and idle rough, nearly stalling in traffic. I have taken it to the dealership twice to two separate dealerships and it's under factory warranty and they have no repair or fix for the problem.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated the vehicle failed to shift out of 4WD into 2WD as needed. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the rear-end of the vehicle with a burning sulphury odor. There was no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the rear end needed to be taken apart to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact learned of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a complaint. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000.
Vehicle Information Year/Make/Model: 2022 Ford F-150 Mileage: 38,488 Component: Sunroof / Visibility / Water Leak Complaint Description I am filing this complaint regarding a recurring safety issue with my 2022 Ford F-150 equipped with the optional sunroof. The sunroof has a persistent water leak that occurs during rainfall. This leak drips directly into the cabin area, creating a significant distraction while driving and fogging of the windshield. The distraction is especially hazardous during inclement weather when driver focus is critical for safe operation. The vehicle has been taken to Suburban Ford for service on three separate occasions. The first two service times the vehicle was returned with the vehicle issue not corrected. It is currently in for service for the third time. I have been informed that the entire sunroof system, the headliner and seat will need to be replaced. This condition is a known issue affecting F-150 vehicles with the optional sunroof. The repeated failure of the sunroof system to remain watertight, combined with the lack of timely repair parts creates an ongoing safety hazard for its drivers. Safety Concern The water intrusion causes driver distraction and could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Request I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue as a potential safety defect affecting Ford F-150 vehicles with sunroofs.
The main dashboard screen either works delayed after starting, and also unknowingly screen freezes. Have ALMOST backed up into another vehicle not knowing screen was frozen, have been into shop 4 times for repair and NOT ONCE has been repaired.
Three warnings light up: Antilock Brake Fault, Hill Start Assist Warning, and Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. Brakes failed. I was fortunate that no one was in front of me but the truck barely stopped. Took full pedal to the floor to force lockup. I am filing the matter as it does appear to be a frequently occurring concern in 2021 and 2022 models based on what I have read to date.
The pre 2023 10R80 transmission needs to be recalled. The transmission surges, jerks, and has even downshifted so roughly in a low speed hard right turn that the tires slipped. Gears 3-5 are incredibly bad, but downshifts from 3rd to 1st when coming to a stop interferes with the braking and can cause drivers to misjudge the stopping distance required. Coming to a stop is rarely smooth, and the problem isnt me because this doesnt happen with my other three vehicles. It also vibrates at certain speeds and Groove Ford, now purchased by Autonation, refuses replacement or rebuild. Ford needs to recall these for the CDF drum, which was redesigned, and for the F clutch cyl, which is now a hardened anodized unit. Both were updated for the 2023 model year. Worse than that, my transmission and many others were underfilled from the factory. The dealer added 3.5 qts and refused to replace the transmission even after shuddering and a valvebody replacement which was necessitated by the low fluid conditions.
The structural integrity of the hood and front bumper failed due to unsafe modifications performed by Rocky Ridge and endorsed by Ford Motor Company. The hood's structural reinforcements and crush zones were cut to fit a hood scoop, and sections of the front bumper were removed, compromising crashworthiness. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I have documented with images. The modifications to the hood and front bumper compromised the vehicle’s crashworthiness, potentially increasing the risk of severe injury or death in a collision. The removal of structural reinforcements and crush zones on both components prevents them from functioning as designed to absorb and distribute impact forces during a crash, endangering all occupants of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by an independent collision repair center, a Ford Certified Collision Center and my insurance company USAA. Both parties have stated that the modifications to the hood and bumper are unsafe, and the insurance company has refused to authorize repairs that replicate the original modifications due to safety concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by my insurance company and a collision repair center. Both confirmed the safety concerns resulting from the modifications and highlighted that the affected components cannot be repaired or replaced without compromising safety. Images were provided to Ford Motor Company and inspected by Ford Collision Center Manager. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other visible symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the modifications during a repair process. Ford Positon Statements and On Target Tech Bulitens prohibit these types of modifications and were violated, then conceled so that the consumer would not be able to see them unless in an accident. Ford is citing that the time frame exceeds 24 months so there is nothing that they are willing to do about it. This is a failure to warn and product defect that impacts safety.
Rear axle bolt broke while 1,300 miles from home. Recall has been in place for at least 17 months now and still NO repair available from Ford. THIS IS A HAZARD. While driving when the bolt breaks you will lose power which if you were passing in the left lane on a highway at 70MPH it would result in a catastrophic situation. RECALL INFO - Dec 22,2023 Manufacturer Recall Number23S65 / NHTSA Recall Number23V896
I have a 2022 F-150 STX 4x4 with 47000 miles. It has been making a strange creaking/clicking/popping noise from the rear diff/axles when slowing to a stopped position and when accelerating from a stopped position. It is present during all drives. I am concerned that it within the drivetrain which gives me concern that it could cause to the vehicle and or passengers.
My vehicle had a wiper motor recall that came out when I bought it. I had to wait 2 years for parts and I had it done in May of this year. Vehicle harldy sees any rain so the wipers have only been used a few times since then. Well today I was driving and it started to rain and the wipers wouldn't turn on. What's the point of a recall if they are just going to install more defective parts. Sad part is the original wiper motor worked with no problems. Also this engine has cylinder deactivation on it and is operating when it isn't suppose to. So if I'm accelerating from a dead stop it turns on cylinder deactivation and I loose power and acceleration. The ford dealers and ford customer service people don't care I have an unsafe vehicle.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford f-150. The contact stated while his wife was reversing, while the vehicle was still in reverse, the vehicle suddenly lunged forward and accelerated unintendedly. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed into an oversized tree before coming to a complete stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The front bumper and hood on the vehicle were damaged. The contact was concerned that his wife and several bystanders could have been seriously injured or killed due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard and a day later was towed to a body shop to be repaired. The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic to be repaired. The paramedics and local Police arrived on the scene. A Police report was filed. The contact stated that due to the impact of the crash into the tree, his wife bit through her tongue. The contact's wife received medical treatment at the scene, for a severely bitten tongue and whiplash. The contact's wife was not transported to a hospital. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH in the rain, the windshield wipers moved up an inch and stopped operating. The contact stated that upon deactivating and reactivating the windshield wipers, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the windshield wiper motors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.
Factory LED day light running lamps on driver and passenger head lights went out and there is no way to replace them without changing out the entire headlight assembly.
I have a 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum with B&O Sound system. Yesterday, while driving I experienced a loud boom followed by loud staticky crackling sounds coming from the sound system. I thought I had been hit by another vehicle or somebody had thrown something at the car. I stopped immediately to see if glass was broken and got out of vehicle for fear it was going to burn or blow up. The crackling sound continued even after turning off the sound system and turning off the vehicle. The crackling continued for approximately 30 minutes. This morning, I started the car and the crackling sound was not present. This is a safety issue because it caused me to be alarmed and behave in abrupt manner to get out of the car, and may have even caused hearing damage.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle went into sleep mode. The error message was displayed that the battery was low. While opening the door at night, there were no interior lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that the vehicle was working as designed. The dealer tested the battery and determined that the battery was working as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to another local dealer and the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
When driving the vehicle shut off power for 5sec but doesn’t shut off vehicle (all electrical off ) then kick back on ,idling high
The display becomes unresponsive randomly and driver cannot use camera to reverse the vehicle until vehicle is completed turned off, locked and unlock it and start again. This creates a safety hazard in the middle of reversing vehicle and also creates a confusion while using navigation.
The vents stop pushing air, regardless of setting, so windshield defroster does not work to clear the windshield of fog. Happens while driving and no adjustments to climate control change airflow unless I turn the car off and back on. Occurs infrequently and without clear cause. Dealership failed to reproduce the problem when I took it in.
This complaint is concerning the recall 22C22 for the 2022 Ford F150 park lamps flickering, I took my vehicle in for service to get this recall performed because the recall was open, when I picked up my vehicle I was told that the recall had just been put on hold by Ford, this was around August 15, 2024. I was also told that I would be contacted by them, the dealership/service advisor when the recall was open again, this has not happened, its been several weeks and I have not heard anything back, I have called Ford and also done a live chat with them over my Ford Pass app and still have no answers. The park lamps continue to flicker to the point that one of the headlights is beginning to fail, the LED DRL are very dim or just don't light up at all anymore, these are the same lights that flicker so much and so often that they look like strobe lights, Ford is saying that this is unrelated which I firmly believe it's not accurate, the excessive flickering very likely caused the lights to fail. Now they want me to take it in to them and get it diagnosed and to replace the headlight assembly which cost well over $1200 dollars just for the part. They have failed to address the actual cause of the problem to begin with. LED park lamps should not fail on a 2 year old vehicle, in most cases LED light should last years and possibly even the life of the vehicle. I am a Master Technician for a major automotive brand and also ASE certified with over 30 years of experience and I firmly believe that the flickering will continue to damage the headlights on these vehicles.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.
While driving A/C unit will slowly stop blowing cold air. It is very random when this happens and the vehicle has to sit a for a while before it starts working again. Vehicle was purchase in August 2023 and the issue did not start until about 2 months ago and has now happened 4 times. First time I drover for hours before it happened, this last time I was only driving for 20 minutes. I think this is related to the Ford TBS 22-2089. I am just over the 36,000 mile Warranty, but under the 3 year Ford Warranty, so I will probably have to pay for this out of pocket. This should be a recall for affected vehicles as this is a very expensive fix to have on a 2 year old truck that was no fault of the owners.
This complaint was already documented here: NHTSA ID Number: 11487857 Turned my truck on to hear a LOUD pop, scared everyone inside. Speakers continued to crackle and pop, at a lower volume. No audio or music played. Thinking it would go away, I continued out of our neighborhood. When it didn't, I stopped and turned the truck off, as well as locking the vehicle, with the same crackling noise coming from the speakers despite everything being shut off. Turned the truck back on and went through audio settings. The only thing that made it stop was switching from "Stereo" to "Surround" mode in the settings.
Fresh air intake cowling allows small debris to build up and does not allow consumer ability to clean/service it. This results in water backing up and spilling to AC filter and blower motor, thus leaking into passenger side of cab. Dealer and Ford state this is a non-warrantable item, and that the consumer should be aware to maintain it themselves despite being able to. Dealership also does not clean this during routine service, nor notify the consumer about it condition.
