WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED. DEALER STATED THE PISTON MALFUNCTIONED. *AK
THE VEHICLE'S CLUTCH MECHANISM FAILED WHILE DRIVING. AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO COME TO AN COMPLETE STOP. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND TOWING A TRAILER THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. THE TIRE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE BLOW.*MR CONSUMER FIRST NOTICED THAT VEHICLE WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT TILL FINDING OUT THE BLISTERING AT THE FRONT LEFT TIRE AT THE SEAM OF THE THREAD AND THE SIDEWALL. TIRE HAD 39,657 MILES ON IT. *LA
CONSUMER STATES STEERING COLUMN HAS A RESISTANCE IN THE WHEEL, AND DOES NO RETURN TO THE CENTER AFTER TURNING. *AK
RIGHT FRONT WHEEL HAS A 6 1/2 INCH CRACK, AND DOESN'T HOLD AIR. CRACK IS VISIBLE FROM THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH THE RIGHT REAR TIRE SEPARATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE PASSENGER REAR FENDER WELL END WAS DAMAGED AS A RESULT. *NLM THE BELT AND TREAD SEPARATED FROM CORE. DOT#DA217PG06D *SC *JB
CONSUMER STATED THAT THE WHEEL RIMS CRACKED, AND LOST TIRE PRESSURE RAPIDLY. FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE RIM WAS CRACKED. CONSUMER CALLED RIM MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS PARTICULAR TYPE OF RIM, MANUFACTURED FROM 06/1996-06/1999, WAS BEING RECALLED. CONSUMER THEN CALLED FORD, AND WAS TOLD THAT THESE RIMS WERE MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR FORD, AND FORD WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RIM RECALLS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF VEHICLE. CONSUMER PULLED OVER TO INVESTIGATE THE NOISE AND NOTICED THAT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE HAD A BLOW OUT. FIRESTONE STEELTEX RADIAL AT, LT265/75R/16, DOT# UNKNOWN. *AK
LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE AND AFTER ABOUT 3,000 MILES, MOSTLY ON THE HIGHWAY, THE SIDE OF MY TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON MY MUDDY DRIVEWAY GOING AT THE BLINDING SPEED OF 3-4 MILES PER HOUR. *JB
STEERING FROZE WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. COULD NOT STRAIGHTEN STEERING WHEEL. THIS CAUSED CONSUMER TO HIT ANOTHER AUTO'S DOOR HEAD ON. ALSO THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK, LOST COMPLETE BRAKING POWER. *TT
THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE TIE ROD HAD ROTTED OUT AND THE SLEEVE WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF. THERE WAS A RECALL REGARDING THE ISSUE, HOWEVER CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED. *JB
THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING.*JB
THE LEFT REAR WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE JERK FOWARD. *JB THE CONSUMER REQUESTED AN 03 VEHICLE OR REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE INCIDENTAL EXPENSES. AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE, THE MANUAL, LOCKABLE HUB(S) BEGAN TO FAIL. THE DEALER CONVINCED THE CONSUMER(S) TO PURCHASE 8 PLY TIRES, BUT THIS DIDN'T REDUCE THE NOISE OR HUB PROBLEMS, THE CONSUMER ALSO EXPERIENCED ACCELERATION PROBLEM'S. THE DEALER COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. THE ENGINE IDLED ROUGH AND THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON. A BAD CAM SENSOR WAS FOUND, AND A SOUND HAD COME FROM THE FUEL PUMP. AN ADAPTER TO THE METAL PLATE WAS BUILT IN, EXTENDING FROM THE UNDERDASH, TO THE FIREWALL, TO PROVIDE A BETTER GROUND SYSTEM. SCC
WHEN THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE.*JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND NO WARNING THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE HAVE TREAD SEPERATION CAUSING A TIRE BLOW OUT. DEALER NOTIFIED. SIZE 28575R168 PLEASE PROVIDE THE DOT#. TS
CONSUMER STATES HE HAS PUT 6 FUEL PUMP ON HIS TRUCK SINCE 1999. HE ALSO STATES THAT THE FIRST PUMP LASTED APPROX 40,000 MILE, THE 2ND ON E LASTED UP TO 60,000 MILES, AND THE REST OF THEM HE CANNOT REMEMBER. HE STATES THAT THE LAST PUMP WAS PUT ON NOV 19 OR 20TH AND LASTED ONLY 10 DAYS. HE STATED TOO, THAT WHEN THE PUMPS GOES OUT HIS TRUCK STOPS AND IF HE IS ON THE MOUNTAIN OR ON A HILL, HE CANNOT BREAK OR STOP THE TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE WEIGHT THAT HE CARRIES. HE CARRIES STEEL AND IT IS HEAVY. HE STATES THAT THIS IS SCARRY, AND NOBODY SEEM TO BE ABLE TO HELP HIM.
THE CAM POSITION SENSOR CONTINUED TO FAIL, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. *JB
VEHICLE WOULD ROLL IN PARKING GEAR. DEALER SAID THAT BEARINGS IN TRANSMISSION WERE WORN COMPLETELY OUT LETTING GEARS BYPASS EACH OTHER. DAMAGE WAS ALSO DONE TO THE TRANSMISSION INTERNAL CASING AND THE GEARS PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE. DEALER PICKED UP 1/2 OF REPAIR COST. HE SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. DT
CONSUMER STATED THE ROTORS FAILED PREMATURELY, WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL, WHEN DIRT WAS BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND THE INSIDE OF THE ROTOR, IT CAUSED PREMATURE WEAR, AND THE CALIPER BECAME IN CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR WHICH CREATED A METAL TO METAL CONTACT. MR *JB
FIRESTONE, STEELTEX AT, SIZE 26575R16: LEFT FRONT TIRE FAILED DUE TO TREAD COMING OFF IN ONE WHOLE PIECE FROM TIRE. PIECE WRAPPED AROUND FRONT AXLE, DOING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO WIRING AND OTHER PARTS. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
2 FIRESTONE TIRES LOST TREAD OR WENT FLAT. MANUFACTURER WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO REPLACE THE TIRES.*AK
THE CONSUMER STATED THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WHILE DRIVING. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE SPEED OF VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAD BEEN CONTACTED.*AK *TS *JB
WHILE IN MOTION, THE TWO REAR TIRES ON THE LEFT SIDE BROKE OFF. ONE OF THE TIRES STRUCK ANOTHER ON COMING VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED FOR BRAKES 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, IT WAS NOTED ON THE REPORT THAT ALL LUG NUTS WERE LOOSE, THE RIGHT REAR COULD BE LOOSENED BY HAND, OHIO TRAFFIC CRASH REPORT. *JG
WHILE DRIVING ON A FLAT SURFACE AT 15MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST ITS CLUTCH. MAKING IT HARD TO STOP THE VEHICLE. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ROLL PIN THAT HOLDS THE HYDRAULIC LINE TO THE SLAVE CYLINDER ON THE CLUTCH HAD COME OUT AND THE LINE DROPPED DOWN. (NO CLUTCH) *SCC
PARKING BRAKE CABLE BROKE. CONSUMER IS VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE VEHICLE IS USED FREQUENTLY FOR TOWING.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING ON 405 FREEWAY LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEWOUT/ BOTH AIR BAGS WENT OFF, AND WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED BY THE IMPACT OF AIRBAGS. LEFT FRONT FENDER/ BUMPER WERE DAMAGED. WHEN TIRE BLEWOUT TRUCK TURNED TO THE LEFT. CONSUMER WAS DOING APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH. ENTIRE TREAD WAS SHREDDED AWAY. CONSUMER WAS NOT INJURED NOR DID HE CRASH THE TRUCK.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE TREAD SEPARATED AND THE TIRE BLEWOUT, THE DRIVER WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME. FIRESTONE CONTACTED (1999 FORD F350, ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, TIRE SIZE LT 265/75R16, DOT# VNW81XL358). *AK *YH
WHILE DRIVING FRONT DRIVERS TIRE SEPARATED, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. DOT #VNW81XL, SIZE LT26575R16. ORGINIAL TIRES.*AK DURING THE ACCIDENT CONSUMERS WIFE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO LOWER LEGS.*YH( FIRESTONE STEELTEX LT265 75R16)
IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER WAS DRAGGING CAUSING IT TO OVERHEAT, DEALER INFORMED.*AK *NLM
VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND MANUAL CLUTCH WENT OUT. VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD THROUGH A RED LIGHT.*AK.*JB
AT 30MPH BRAKE HOSE STARTS TO LEAK FLUID, MAKING IT HARD FOR VEHICLE TO STOP. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
VEHICLE WILL NOT START, IF VEHICLE DOES START, IT WILL KEEP STALLING. *AK *JLG
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE STARTED PULLING TO THE LEFT AND THERE WAS A SLIGHT VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END. WHEN VIBRATION INCREASED CONSUMER PROCEEDED TO SLOWLY PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. PRIOR TO REACHING THE FAR RIGHT LANE A LARGE PIECE OF TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. AN INSPECTION OF THE TIRE FOUND A SECTION OF THE TIRE TREAD MISSING. THE DAMAGED AREA STARTED ON THE OUTER EDGE PROCEEDING TO THE MIDDLE OF THE TIRE AND STOPPING TOWARDS THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TIRE. THE TREAD SEPARATION AREA IS APPROXIMATELY 22 INCHES LONG AND 5 INCHES WIDE. NO SIGNS OF PENETRATION INTO THE CORE OF THE TIRE WERE OBSERVED. FIRESTONE LT, RADIAL, SIZE 265/75R16 RADIAL. *YD THE TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED IN CANADA # 28203 EX BM 14480-S, LOAD RANGE E. *NM
CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKE AT 65 MPH/CRUISE WAS SET/ VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN, ENGINE KEPT REVVING, CONSUMER HAD TO MANUALLY TURN OFF CRUISE CONTROL TO SLOW DOWN VEHICLE.*AK
CONSUMER HAS DIFFICULTY GETTING THE TRANSMISSION INTO GEAR AND WHEN SHIFTING, WHEN THE TRANSMISSION DOES SHIFT GEARS, THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE, THE FREE PLAY IN THE CLUTCH IS ALWAYS DIFFERENT, SOMETIMES THE CLUTCH WOULD ENGAGE WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WAS NEAR THE TOP , OTHER TIMES THE CLUTCH WOULD ENGAGE WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A 6 INCH PIECE OF RUBBER HYDRAULIC HOSE IN THE HYDRAULIC LINE OF THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, SO WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS WARMED UP, IT EXPANDED INSTEAD OF STAYING RIDGED. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND UPDATED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT PROBLEM IS CONSIDERED A WEAR ITEM. *JB *SCC
LOW CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT CAUSING THE CLUTCH TO RELEASE WITH PEDAL AGAINST DOWN STOP OR NOT TO RELEASE AT ALL. HAD TRUCK TOWED FOR SAFETY REASONS. WHEN THE CLUTCH DOESN'T RELEASE THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND FAILURE TO BE ABLE TO STOP VEHICLE WHEN CLUTCH GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND NOT DISENGAGE CLUTCH. *JG
AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AT 45MPH CRASH. *AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION OF 45 MPH, AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. MANUFACTACTURER CONTACTED. *AK *YH
CAB OF THE TRUCK VIBRATED VERY HARD AT ANY SPEED. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED TORQUE CONVERTER, THEN HUB, STILL SAME PROBLEM. TOOK TO FORD, FORD REPLACED TIRES, STILL SHAKING. THEN, THEY REPLACED DRIVESHAFT, STILL SHOOK. DEALER DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS TREAD SEPERATION ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO RIM AND VEHICLE. CONTACTED DEALER. ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, 34000 MILES,LT265/75R16, MOUNTED ON A 1999, FORD, F350. *AK DOT # VNW81XM088. *YH
AFTER PARKING HIS VEHICLE WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKES ON, VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN THE HILL, HITTING OTHER VEHICLE, CABLE ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD BROKEN. *AKTHE CABLE FAILURE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE TRUCK ROLLING AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT, BUT FORD CLAIMS THE TRUCK IS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL FOR SAID FAILURE. *JG
WHILE CLUTCH IS FULLEY DEPRESSED AND IN GEAR VEHICLE WILL TAKE OFF.CONTACTED DEALER. REPLACED PART, BUT PROBLEM REOCCURRED. *AK
THE VEHICLES GEAR SHIFT BROKE OFF THE TRANSMISSION. *NLM
TRUCKS TWO FRONT WHEELS HAVE CRACKED AND WILL NOT HOLD AIR.*MR BOTH FRONT ALUMINUM WHEELS. THE CRACK ON BOTH WHEELS IS LOCATED ON THE INSIDE AROUND THE SPOKE. THE DEALER HAD CONTACTED BUT PROVIDED NO HELP. THE WHEELS WERE REPLACED AT THE CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *NM
WHILE DRIVING SECTOR SHAFT BROKE, CAUSING VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL. *JG *AK
WHILE DRIVING 45-65 MPH, BRAKES MALFUNCTION/ LOCK UP, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TWICE. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT ON 23-FEB-2002 DEALER REPLACED HYDRO BOOST AND FRONT PADS VEHICLE STARTED LOCKING UP AGAIN, ON 24-FEB-2002 DEALER REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND NOW BRAKES ARE WORKING. *YD
DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION IN 1999 F350 SERIES TRUCKS. *MR THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE FIRST TRANSMISSION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, AT THE TIME, FORD INSTALLED A RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION PER COMPANY POLICY. FOR THAT TRANSMISSION THE CONSUMER PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. ALMOST ONE YEAR LATER A SECOND TRANSMISSION WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE. ANOTHER FORD DEALER IN IOWA STATED THAT THE RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE START AND THAT A PART OF IT WAS EGGING WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ROUND. THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED WITHIN THE FIRST 2K MILES. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT FORD SHOULD COVER THE COST SPENT ON THE REPAIR(S). *SCC *JB
WHILE DRIVING LEFT FRONT WHEEL WENT INWARD DUE TO A MALFUNCTION WITH SUSPENSION. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
TRANSFER CASE SHIFTING FORK WORE OUT. TRUCK HAD ONLY BEEN IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES ALL IN SNOW CONDITIONS ON MAJOR HIWAYS. NO OFFROADING AT ALL. HAD TO REPLACE THE SHIFTING FORK, A PLANETARY GEAR AN A IMPUT SHAFT. THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY FORD WOULD SELL THE REPACEMENT PARTS. FORD HAS MADE A DESIGN CHANGE ON THE SHIFTING FORK.*AK
