1 TIRE EXPEREINCED BLOWOUT DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION, ANOTHER TIRE ON A DIFFERENT COMPANY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SPLIT ON THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF TIRE, TIRES ARE DENMAN SIZE P285/75R16, SUPER SWAMPER. *SLC
TRANSMISSION SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, WHICH WHILE REVERSING AND PULLING A TRAILER, TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED AND BURNED OUT. DEALER REDESIGNED THE TRANSMSSION AND COOLING SYSTEM. VEHICLE WAS STILL EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM, AND VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED, IT DID NOT SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK THE VEHICLE IS NOT EQUIPED WITH MECHANISM TO CONTROL VEHICLE'S SPEED WHEN DESCENDING STEEP GRADES. THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TWICE PREMATURELY. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO OVER HEATS UNDER HEAVY LOAD AND WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE. *YH
TRANSMISSION KEEPS GOING OUT, AND ABS BRAKES WILL NOT STOP VEHICLE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WOULD STALL ON ROAD, TURBO-CHARGER WOULD NOT KICK IN. THERE WAS A LOUD KNOCKING, TOOK TO MECHANIC, WHO SAID THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SEVENTH RING. *AK
WHENEVER BRAKES ARE APPLIED FRONT END BOUNCES UP AND DOWN UNCONTROLLABLY. THIS HAPPESN ON ANY TYPE OF ROAD SURFACE. DEALERSHIP IS NOT ABLE TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING BOTH CENTER HUB CAPS CAME OFF. PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
FUEL LINE WORN, CAUSED BY RUBBING AGAINST ANOTHER FUEL LINE, RESULTING IN LEAKAGE. *MJS
ENGINE DIED WHILE TRAVELING WITH WIFE AND SMALL CHILDREN IN TRUCK ON FREEWAY. FOLLOWING ENGINE FAILURE, BRAKES AND STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO MANAGE WHILE COASTING OFF OF FREEWAY ONTO EXIT. TWO OF THESE INSTANCES OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. ENGINE BEGAN SPUTTERING AND THEN DIED COMPLETELY WITHIN 10 SECONDS. THE TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED TO SHAMROCK FORD IN DUBLIN AFTER EACH INCIDENT AND NO REPLACEMENT VEHICLE WAS OFFERED. AFTER BEING FIXED THE 1ST TIME THERE WAS A NOTICABLE LACK OF POWER AND FUEL CONSUMPTION INCREASED, LEADING TO THE SECOND FAILURE. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED THAT THE 40,000 DOLLAR "DREAM TRUCK" I PURCHASED IS A PILE OF UNRELIABLE JUNK. I BOUGHT A 5TH WHEEL TRAILER TO USE WITH THIS TRUCK AND IT IS SO UNRELIABLE THAT I AM AFRAID TO TOW IT ANYWHERE. I WILL NOT ALLOW MY WIFE, WHO WEIGHS 110 LBS, TO TAKE THE KIDS ANYWHERE FOR FEAR THAT SHE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE IF THIS OCCURRED AGAIN. DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE? WHILE DRIVING WITH DOGS IN VEHICLE, ONE OF THE DOGS' PAWS WAS RESTING ON DOOR ARMREST. IT THEN SLIPPED DOWN ON DOOR HANDLE & THE DOOR SWUNG OPEN. THEY FELL OUT OF VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS MOVING. THE DOOR WAS LOCKED AT TIME THE HANDLE WAS ENGAGED. LOCK ON DOOR AFFECTS OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE, BUT NOT INSIDE. *AK
ALL POWER STEERING LOST AT IDLE WHEN BRAKES APPLIED,HAD ALL COMPONENTS REPLACED BY DEALER AND STILL HAVE SAME PROBLEM,VERY DANGEROUS. *AK
WHEN ON A DOWNHILL OF ABOUT 20-25 DEGREES WHEN VEHICLE IS PLACED IN PARK AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS IT WILL ROLL 2-3 FEET THEN STOP THIS IS DUPLICABALE ALTHOUGH AFTER 2 TIMES IT WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN UNTIL ON LEVEL SURFACE AND THEN BACK ON HILL. I ALMOST ROLLED THRU MY GATE AT MY HOUSE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY TOWING A TRAILER HIT A POTHOLE AND ALL OF SUDDEN IT JERKED THE STEERING WHEEL FROM CONSUMER'S HAND. CONTACTED DEALER. 2000'S F350 SERIES HAVE A STABLIZER/ SHOCK ABSORBER PROBLEM. *AK
PEOO 020 ; SHE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH ON HIGHWAY AND HEARD A BANGING NOISE. BACK RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. FIRESTONE#AT STEEL TEX 16INCH. SECOND BLOWOUT OCCURRED, LEFT REAR TIRE BLEWOUT, TREAD SEPARATED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.*AK THE WHITE WALLS COLLAPSED IN WARD ON BOTH RIGHT REAR AND LEFT REAR TIRES ON TWO OCCASSIONS. *YH
AT A STOP LIGHT VEHICLE REVVED AND VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. OCCUPANT APPLIED THE BRAKES WHICH DIDNT SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE, RESULTING IN A CRASH. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

HAVE NOTICED FAILED THIRD BRAKELIGHTS AN ALMOST ALL 1999+ F250/F350S ON THE ROAD. TALKED TO MANY WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THEN CHECKED MINE AND FOUND IT FAILED. EXTREMELY HIGH FAILURE RATE FOR A SAFETY RELATED COMPONENT. UNFORTUNATELY, LIGHT BULBS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY PAST 12,000 ILES. THIS LAMP BURNS OUT EVERY COUPLE WEEKS IT APPEARS.
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH DRIVER REARENDED VEHICLE WITH FRONT. THEN BOUNCED OFF, HITTING A POLE WITH FRONT END. UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING INJURIES. NO INDICTATION OR WARNING OF AIRBAGS BEING DEFECTIVE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY SOUTH BOUND ABOUT 45MPH A VEHICLE COMING OFF THE EXIT RAMP EAST BOUND PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, AND HIT IT RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE. UPON IMPSCT, NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
HAS 2 FORD TRUCKS, F350 MODELS, 1999 AND2000. BOTH CARS PULL TO RIGHT WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING WITH FRIENDS AND HORSES, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS(65) THE FUEL GUAGE WAS SHOWING A LITTLE OVER A QUARTER AND THE TRIP COMPUTER WAS STILL SHOWING ABOUT 60 MILES TO EMPTY. THE TRUCK SPUTTERED AND ENGINE STALLED. IT WAS OUT OF FUEL. AFTER TRYING TO GET FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE - WHO SAID WAIT 5-6 HRS TILL MORNING AND WE'LL GET SOMEONE OUT, AND AAA WHO DOESN'T TRANSPORT FUEL - ONLY GAS. THE NC HP WAS CONTACTED AND THEN TRANSPORTED TO TRUCK STOP AND BACK TO TRUCK WITH FUEL - THEN TRUCK RAN FINE. *AK
BRAKE ROTORS REPEATEDLY WARP. FIRST TIME, DEALER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AT 12937 MILES. SECOND TIME, DEALER CLAIMS THAT WARRANTY REPAIRS FOR BRAKES ARE NOT COVERED AFTER 12000 MILES. AIR CONDITIONER TOTALLY FAILED LAST SUMMER--SO FAR WORKING OK. *AK
WHILE MAKING A SHARP RIGHT TURN AND APPLYING THE BRAKES VEHICLE WOULD NOT STEER AND KEPT GOING. DRIVER HIT A LITTLE EMBANKMENT AND ENDED UP IN A HAY FIELD. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, AND NO ONE WAS INJURED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. ALSO, WHOLE STEERING GEAR BOX WAS BEING REPLACED BECAUSE THE SHAFT BROKE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING TRUCK ABOUT 65 MPH AND TOWING 4 HORSES, TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP WITHOUT WARNING. PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP. THE THIRD AND FOURTH GEAR WAS REPLACED IN THE TRANSMISSION AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. TRUCK WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. BRAKES PULSATE WHEN APPLIED AT ALL SPEEDS, DEALER CUT DOWN ROTORS AT APPOROX. 23,000 MILES...I ASKED IF THEY HAD ANY OTHERS NEED CUT AT THAT MILEAGE, HE STATED WAS PROBABLY DUE TO RUST...I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK ONLY 4 WEEKS AFTER BUILD DATE, AND IT DOES NOT SIT...TRUCK CONTINUES TO HAVE A PULSATING BRAKE, AND IS HARD TO STOP. *AK

FROM DELIVERY, ABS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INTERMITTANTLY STAY ON. EL;ECTRICAL SYSTEM SOMETIMES 'STUMBLES' AND LOOSES VOLTAGE... AS IF IT IS GOING TO STALL.. THEN IT CORRECTS ITSELF UNTIL THE NEXT TIME DRIVING IS VERY DIFFICULT AT TIMES DUE TO POOR FRONT SHOCK/SPRING SETUP.. MUST FIGHT TO KEEP ON ROAD AT TIMES. I HAVE HAD TO PLACE 500 LB. WEIGHT IN REAR TO IMPROVE THIS SOMEWHAT.
FRONT LEFT TIRE HUB BROKE OFF CAUSING THE TRUCK TO HIT A BRIDGE, DRIVER SAYS THE TRUCK DROPPED DOWN AND THEN HIT THE BRIDGE, THE TIRE FELL OFF BEFORE IMPACT WITH THE BRIDGE, THIS ACCIDENT TOTALLED OUR TRUCK AND DID SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE BRIDGE. HAVE COMPALINED TO FORD, THEY WILL NOT REPLACE TRUCK, SAYS IT WAS OUR FAULT, BUT WE KNOW THE TIRE FELL OFF, THE INVESTIGATOR TOLD US THE NUT ON THE INSIDE BACKED OFF, CAUSING THE FRONT LEFT TIRE AND HUB TO BREAK OFF, AND IT WAS IN NOWAY OUR FAULT, IS A DEFECT IN THE TRUCK..

I HAVE HAD THREE TIRE BLOWOUTS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST OCCURED ONE WEEK AFTER PURCHASE. THEY HAVE ALL BEEN SIDEWALL BLOWOUTS WITH COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE TIRE (UNABLE TO REPAIR) ALL OCCURED AT LESS THAN 40 MPH ON GRADED GRAVELED ROADS. IT APPEARED AS IF THE TIRES HAD BEEN CUT. THESE FIRESTONE STEEL TEX AT, P26575R16 WERE (OE) ON THIS FORD TRUCK. SEPERATION OF TREAD WAS NOTICED WHILE VEHICLE WAS SITTING. FIRESTONE REPLACED THE TIRE.*AK THE TIRE WAS MADE IN CANADA. FIRESTONE PRORATED THE TIRE AND REPLACED IT AS A ROAD HAZARD CLAIM. *YH

ALSO, WHILE DOWNSHIFTING FROM 2ND GEAR TO 1ST GEAR VEHICLE WILL GO INTO REVERSE AUTOMATICALLY, CAUSING DAMAGES TO THE REAR PART OF VEHICLE. *AK ONE TURBO LOST ITS POWER AND SHUTDOWN BEFORE BEING PULLED OVER TO ROAD SIDE. EVERY 20,000 MILES ROTORS WENT OUT. FRONT END BOUNCED AROUND, AND STOPPING DISTANCE HAD INCREASED. THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME THAT ROTORS WORE OUT. DEALER SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF IMPROPER BRAKING. *AK
HYDRO-BOOST ASSEMBLEY STARTED LEAKING AT MASTER CYLINDER AND HYDRO-BOOST MOUNT POINT. LOST OF BRAKE ASSIST AND STEERING DUE TO FLUID LEVEL LOSS. FORD DEALER HAS TRUCK FOR REPAIRS REPALCING HYDRO-BOOST ASSEMBLY. I SEE THIS IS THE THIRD REPORTED INCIDENT ON THE WEB PAGE.

WHILE DRIVING AND PULLING A TRAILER IN WET WEATHER CONDITIONS ,AND TRYING TO APPLY THE BRAKES, TRUCK STARTED TO SLIDE ONE WAY AND THE TRAILER WENT THE OTHER, CAUSING THE TRAILER TO SMASH INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. *AK

EXTERIOR MIRRORS LEAVE BLIND SPOT, AND UNABLE TO MAKE AJUSTMENT. NOTICED CORRECTION MADE ON 2000 F350 MODELS, BUT NOT 1999 MODELS. DEALER NOTIFIED AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. *AK
IE99-069; WHEN TRAVELING 68 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO DOWNSHIFT, THE CLUTCH WOULD NOT DISENGAGE, SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR. ALSO, IN ORDER TO STOP VEHICLE CONSUMER APPLIED EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE, CONSUMER THEN TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF BY REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER, DEALER HAS NOT REPLACED PARTS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT 45MPH, AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN MINOR INJURIES. MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED. *AK
THE SPARE TIRE BROKE LOOSE FROM UNDER THE TRUCK WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, BEING THAT WE WERE PULLING A 24'ENCLOSED RACE CAR TRAILER AT THE TIME THE SPARE TIRE BROKE OFF. WHEN HIT BY THE TRAILER IT THREW THE TRAILER IN THE AIR BRAKING THE AXELS ON IMPACT. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN THE ONCOMMING LANE AT THE TIME OR FOLLOWING TO CLOSE BEHIND. DAMAGE WAS CAUSE HEAVILY TO THE TRAILER, THE TRUCK SEEMS TO BE OK. I AM GLAD WE WEREN'T TRAVELING DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 50MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, HEARD A HEAVY NOISE. WHEN TAKING OFF AND GIVING IT GAS, VEHICLE WON'T SHIFT, AND THE RPMS WERE HIGHER. ALSO, SPEEDOMETER WOULD GO OUT. VEHICLE IS THE FIFTH TIME AT THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. *AK
