On [XXX], I rented a Class C motorhome from Cruise America at their Duluth, Georgia branch (Reservation #[XXX]). When I picked up the vehicle, the Cruise America employee pointed to a handwritten note taped over the tire pressure warning light on the dashboard that said: “ignore tire sensor.” The note was already in place before I arrived, suggesting that other renters may have used the vehicle in that same unsafe condition. Three days later, while traveling northbound on [XXX] near Memphis, Tennessee, the RV suffered a sudden tire blowout at highway speed. We narrowly avoided a collision while maneuvering to the shoulder. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the incident was extremely dangerous and could easily have resulted in fatalities. Cruise America knowingly rented out a vehicle with an active tire pressure warning covered and concealed, depriving the driver of critical safety information. The company did not repair or document the issue, instead instructing renters to “ignore” the tire warning. This conduct may violate Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138 (49 C.F.R. § 571.138) and 49 U.S.C. § 30122, which prohibit making safety equipment inoperative or misleading drivers about safety system status. While TPMS sensors can fail naturally, covering the warning light constitutes deliberate concealment and undermines the system’s purpose. I am concerned that Cruise America may be circulating other rental vehicles in similar unsafe condition. Please investigate whether Cruise America, Inc. is in compliance with federal vehicle-safety laws governing TPMS functionality and rental-vehicle maintenance standards. Specifically, whether any branch locations are renting vehicles with disabled, covered, or ignored tire-pressure monitoring systems or other concealed safety warnings. The first and only notification received was the April 5, 2025 email. The 2000 F350 did experience issues of stalling on the road many times. After several thousand dollars of repairs, the camshaft position sensor was replaced by a commercial diesel mechanic. No warnings of any kind were displayed. The truck stalled on the freeway ramp and other streets. These issues occurred since 2000 when the truck was purchased. The lack of notification and choice of fix caused danger and a lot of repair costs. This is unacceptable.
On 7/2/24, I went to Robinson Brothers Ford in Baton Rouge, LA to address an unrepaired Recall item on a 1994 F350. The service advisor refused to perform the recall work. They stated that the vehicle was too old. This recall is concerning an issue with a switch that can leak break fluid and cause an engine fire.
I scan the truck misfire keep popping up I change four coil packs and all new sparkplugs and the same thing 4cyl misfire again and its paper sucking up thru tail pipe
I had purchesed a set of Dick Cepek Extreme Country LT315/75/R16. The tires have 9/32nd left with approximately 15,000 miles. While driving on the highway the sidewall of the tire peeled off in one strip causing the tire to no longer hold its shape and blow out. Had it been a steer tire the incident could have been much worse. Twenty minutes prior to the failure all tires were inspected and confirmed to be inflated to the proper psi and without damage.
The death wobble. Hitting a bump - no matter the size and without warning - may cause your entire vehicle to wobble/shake uncontrollably and loose ability to steer. You’re only recourse is to let off of the accelerator and TRY to hold the truck in the lane and pray you don’t have to brake or make a turn. It has happened multiple times but the worse was while traveling I-10 in San Antonio, Texas while pulling a horse and trailer.
The fuel tank sender on this vehicle is defective. Every single person I know, including over 100 people in a small facebook Ford group have broken fuel tank senders. Ford never recalled it and sell a new one for $600.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,700.
THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE STEERING THAT MY MECHANIC SAYS IS CALLED THE DEATH WOBBLE'. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE STEERING BEGAN TO WOBBLE UNCONTROLLABLY. MY FRONT TIRES ARE NEW, STEERING COMPONENT ALL TIGHT AND INFLATION IS ACCURATE. I PULLED TO THE AIDE OF THE ROAD AND ALMOST CRASHED. THE 'WOBBLE' OCCURS SPORADICALLY AND IS NOT PREDICABLE. IT HAS OCCURRED 6-7 TIMES IN THE TWO YEARS I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERED AS IT IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION. MY MECHANIC IS SAYING IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE TIRE THAT COULD LEAD TO A BLOWOUT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE WAS 271,374 AND TIRE WAS 42,200.

AFTER APPROXIMATELY 150 MILES OF USE, A BUBBLE WAS PRESENT ON THE SIDEWALL OF THE OUTER REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150. THE VIN AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
The contact owns a 2000 Ford F-350 equipped with Guangzhou 9007 bulbs. The contact stated that upon installing the bulbs, he noticed that the low-beam and the high-beam bulbs provided similar illumination. The contact then received an email from Amazon notifying him of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21E004000 (Exterior Lighting). The contact was instructed to fill out a form on the manufacturer's website to receive replacement bulbs; however, the contact had yet to receive the replacement bulbs. The contact also made multiple attempts to reach the manufacturer by phone, but all the attempts were unsuccessful. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The bulbs were not replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000. The VIN was not available.

THE CONTACT CALLED AAA TO CHANGE THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT TIRE SHOP. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED, BUT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE AND TIRES WERE NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 123-53467. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 218,589 AND THE APPROXIMATE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 213,000.

MESA A/P2 TIRES, CRACKING AROUND BEAD WITH ONLY 3889 MILES ON SUPPOSEDLY NOT BIG O BRAND MESA NOT FOUND IN MENU

I WAS INQUIRING ABOUT THE DELAMINATION OF FORDS FUEL TANKS ON THEIR F-SERIES DIESELS. I OWN A 2000 F350 7.3L DIESEL. LAST WEEK IT BEGAN TO RUN AS IF IT WASN'T GETTING FUEL SO I STOPPED INTO A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEIR DIAGNOSES WAS THE FUEL TANK ON MY F350 STARTED TO DELAMINATE AND CLOG THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK SINCE IT WAS NEW AND HAVE DONE ALL THE MAINTENANCE AND UP-KEEP AS REQUIRED I HAVEN'T HAD ANY TROUBLE UNTIL AFTER THE FUEL COMPANIES STARTED TO CHANGE THE DIESEL FUEL. I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK SINCE IT WAS NEW AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL JUST RECENTLY. THE FUEL TANK PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED LAST WEEK BY A FORD DEALER IN MY AREA AND IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $3600 TO REPAIR. MY QUESTION IS, "IS THERE GOING TO BE AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS?" I HAVE FOUND A BLOG FROM MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE. SOMEONE ELSE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS NOT THE CONSUMER OR FORD, UNLESS THEY NEW THIS WOULD BE A PROBLEM AND CONTINUED TO PUT METAL TANKS IN INSTEAD OF PLASTIC. AFTER COMPLAINING TO BF GOODRICH ABOUT (4) CRACKING SIDEWALLS AND BEING TOLD THAT THEY WERE SURFACE CRACKS AND IF THE TIRES HELD AIR THEY WOULD DO NOTHING BECAUSE THE TIRES ARE GOOD AT (1) YEAR OLD WITH 20,000 MI. THE ENGINE STARTED TO EXHIBIT BLACK SMOKE AND HE WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING HOME ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT HE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE MOTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.

I AM REPLACING THE FUEL TANK FOR THE FOURTH TIME ON MY 2000 FORD 350 DIESEL RACKBODY DUMPTRUCK. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK LEAVE ME STALLED DEAD IN FAST-MOVING, HEAVY TRAFFIC NUMEROUS TIMES. THE INTERIOR COATING OF THE STEEL FUEL TANK IS DISINTEGRATING AND FOULING THE WHOLE FUEL SYSTEM. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD F350. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V336000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL) WOULD BE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER OF 2007. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE WAIT TIME FOR THE PART WAS EXCESSIVE. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,100. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, A VIBRATION COULD BE FELT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE TREAD FALLING OFF THE TIRES ON TWO OCCASIONS SEVERELY DAMAGING THE VEHICLE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED SINCE PURCHASE THE VEHICLE HAS A SHIMMY IN THE FRONT END PASSENGER SIDE. THIS OCCURS AT 35-45 MPH, WHEN THE TIRES HAVE AT LEAST 10,000 MILES WORTH OF WEAR. THE TIRE BRAND HAS BEEN CHANGED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE TYPE OF TIRE DOES NOT AFFECT THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TO A DEALERSHIP OR MECHANIC, BUT THE CONTACT REPLACED THE TIE ROD END TWICE, CENTER LINK, AND SPINDLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THESE EFFORTS HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.
I HAVE AN F350 DIESEL YEAR IS 2000. IN 2003 I HAD ENGINE-SENSOR FAILURE. FORD SAID IT WAS THE CAM SENSOR AND CHARGED APPROX. $400 TO REPAIR. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN IN FEB. 2006. I HAD PRIVATE REPAIR SHOP REPLACE CAMS, STILL STALLS,TOOK TRUCK TO FORD REPAIR, REPLACED GLOWPLUGS AND CHARGED SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS, STILL HAVING TROUBLE. SEEMS TO BE WORSE IN MORNING AFTER NON USE FOR 12 HOURS. *NM
ON DEC 20TH, 2005 I WAS DRIVING ON I-35 AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN I STARTED HEARING MULTIPLE POPPING SOUNDS ON THE FRONT OF THE ROOF OF MY FORD F-350 XLT LARIAT LE. A FRIEND WAS WITH ME AT THE TIME AND HE FIGURED OUT WHAT THE SOUND WAS WE PULLED OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND HE WAS RIGHT. THE WINDSHIELD VISOR MOUNT WHICH WAS FACTORY INSTALLED AND SPOT WELDED TO THE VEHICLE AT THE KENTUCKY FORD FACTORY, HAD CAME LOOSE FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER THIS INCIDENT I TOOK IT TO A BODY SHOP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT AND THEY STATED THAT THE SPOT WELDS THE FACTORY DID AT THE TIME OF THE BUILDING OF THE TRUCK DID NOT HAVE A HIGH ENOUGH HEAT SETTING TO MAKE A GOOD FUSION OF THE METAL FOR A PROPER WELD. I'VE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO 2 FORD DEALERS AND WAS TOLD BY BOTH THAT THIS WAS NOT COVERED DUE TO THE TRUCKS FACTORY WARRANTY OF 3 YEAR 36,000 MILES BEING OVER. THERE ARE 4 FACTORY HOLES IN THE ROOF OF THE TRUCK THAT ARE UNCOVERED DUE TO THE FACTORY VISOR NOT BEING IN PLACE WHICH ALLOWS RAIN AND WEATHER TO ENTER THE TRUCK. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE DRIVER CAUSING THE DRIVER TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD. DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 5-70 MPH CONSUMER LOST POWER STEERING/BRAKING. CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER, AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. DEAALERSHIP REPAIRED THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKE COMPONENTS, BUT THE CONSUMER WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. *AK
THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION WITH A ELEVATED CRANE PILLAR WHILE DRIVING 20-30 MPH AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER WERE BOTH RESTRAINED IN THEIR SEAT BELT. THE DRIVER RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES, BUT THE PASSENGER WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE LOCAL HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE DUE TO HEAD INJURIES. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. *JB
THE CLUTCH FAILED TO ENGAGED WHEN APPLIED. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE CLUTCH WOULD ENGAGED ON ITS OWN. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. JB.....CONSUMER STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED WHEN THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD TOWARDS THE CROSSWALK NARROWLY AVOIDING PEDESTRIANS. THE CLUTCH PEDAL WA SFUKKY DEPRESSED. CONSUME RHAD TO SHUT OFF THE IGNITION SWITCH TO STOP THE VEHICLE. CONSUME RTOOK THE VEHICLE TO FREEDOM FORD FOR REPAIRS AND WAS PERENTED WITH A BILL FOR $520.34. CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD CONSUMER THAT REPAIRS WERE NOR COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SINCE THE CLUTCH IS NOT PART OF THE POWER TRAIN. *AK
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 30 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. THERE WAS BRAKE FLUID SPILLING, AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS APPLIED, BUT IT WAS STILL DIFFICULT FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.*AK
CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AT 55 MPH, IMPACTING A HEARD OF COWS. ONE OF THE COWS ENDED UP IN THE ENGINE. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED DUE TO THE OCCUPANTS WEARING SEAT BELTS.*AK
FRONT SUSPENSION FRONT OF VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN BRAKING, OR WHEN VEHICLE HITS A BUMP SMALL OR LARGE. TAKEN FOR REPAIRS REPAIRED AND REPLACED TIRES,BRAKES, IDOL ARMS NOTHING SEEMS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. HAVE 4 F350'S AND ALL DO THE SAME. E350'S NO PROBLEM. DEALER NO HELP IN SOLVING THE ISSUE. *JB
THE BRAKE LINE HAD RUSTED . AS A RESULT, THE BRAKES FAILED. NO IMPACT REPORTED. *JB ALL THE OTHER LINES INCLUDING THE FUEL LINES WERE RUST FREE. *SC *JB
VEHICLE HAD TWO TANKS. FIRST TANK WOULD EMPTY INTO THE SECOND TANK. THIS CAUSED A GASOLINE SPILLED ONTO THE GROUND. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT TANK' NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK GAS LEAK SEE RECALL 93V125. *TC
