TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, A GRINDING SOUND WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SOUND THAT WAS COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION WAS NORMAL. THE CONTACT DID NOT CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
ON MARCH 30 I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR 2013 FORD FIESTA, THE CAR STARTED MAKING GRINDING NOISE THE SECOND DAY UPON TAKEOFF FROM A STOP, AND ALSO WHEN SHIFTING AT SLOWER SPEEDS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ONLY ONE WEEK AFTER THE PURCHASE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE NOISES WERE NORMAL. ONE MONTH AFTER I HEARD THE GRINDING NOISES MORE FREQUENTLY AT FIRST AND SECOND GEAR, ROUGH GRINDING, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SOME DAYS, AFTER THIS, THEY TOLD ME SOME NOISES ARE NORMAL AND GAVE ME AN EXPLANATION LETTER FROM FORD, THE CHARACTERISTICS THEY TALK ABOUT ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE ONES I HEARD, BUT THEY TOLD ME I SHOULD WAIT UNTIL 5K MILES. AFTER 6400 MILES, I TOOK THE CAR BACK AGAIN EXPLAINING THAT THE CAR IS MAKING LOUDER NOISES NOT ONLY FROM 5 TO 15MPH BUT I ALSO HEARD THE SOUND EVEN AT 60MPH, THE CAR SHAKES FROM TIME TO TIME DURING THE LOUDER NOISES AND THIS NOISES SOUNDS DIFFERENT EVERY DAY, DIFFERENT SOUNDS FOR THE SAME SHIFT, AND NOW, THIS SOUNDS ARE LONGER, FROM 3 SECONDS UP TO 50 SECOND OR MORE, THIS IS NOT A SHIFT. I HAVE READ THE LETTER FROM FORD AND THEY SAY A SLIGHT GRINDING NOISE, THAT IS NOT THE DESCRIPTION FOR A SOUND WHICH LAST MORE THAN 30 SEC (DISTANCE MORE THAN 1500 FEET WITH A GRINDING NOISES). I ALSO EXPLAIN THAT, I DROVE A FIESTA WITH ONLY 6 MILES, SAME YEAR, TRANSMISSION AND TEMPERATURE BUT DIFFERENT SOUNDS. THIS ONE MADE A LIGHT GRINDING NOISE JUST AS THE FORD LETTER DESCRIBES. THEIR RESPONSE, THE NOISES CAN BE DIFFERENT FROM CAR TO CAR'. BUT THE DIAGNOSTIC TIPS' FROM FORD'S LETTER SAYS; THE CAR HAS TO BE COMPARED WITH A LIKELY VEHICLE, IN ORDER TO DETERMINE IF THE NOISES ARE NORMAL OR NOT'. I BELIEVE THE FORD FIESTA DOESN'T HAVE THE SAME QUALITY. AFTER CHECKING THE CAR BY THE 3RD TIME AND LOADED AN UPGRADE FOR THE SOFTWARE, THEY TOLD ME THAT EVERYTHING IS NORMAL, BUT TO DATE, THIS UPGRADE DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. *TR
TRANSMISSION SLIPS, CHUGS, GRINDS, HESITATES, JERKS, FAILS TO ACCELERATE AND BOGS OUT EACH TIME BEFORE SLAMMING INTO GEAR, JERKING THE CAR FORWARD QUICKLY, THEN FAILS TO DECELERATE WHEN ENGAGING THE BREAKS CAUSING VERY NEAR REAR END WRECKS. ON HIGHWAY AT 55-65 MPH, CAR IS UNABLE TO DOWN SHIFT PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES AND I'M TOLD IT'S HOW I'M DRIVING THE VEHICLE, NOTHING IS WRONG. AFTER 5 VISITS, FORD DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT SEE THE VEHICLE. SIMPLY TELLING ME "IF I DON'T LIKE IT, TRADE IT IN". THE CAR IS WORTHLESS, AND THEREFORE "TRADING IT IN" WOULD BE THROWING MORE MONEY AWAY.
TRANSMISSION STARTED SHUDDERING SHIFTING INTO 2ND GEAR. I BELIEVE IT IS ALSO DOING THE SAMETHING GOING INTO 4TH GEAR. UPHILL SOMETIMES IT CAN'T GET OUT OF IT'S OWN WAY. HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL NOW. CAR WAS FUN TO DRIVE AND GETTING 40MPG. TAKING IT TO DEALER TOMORROW. WE'LL SEE. *TR
TRANSMISSION JERKS AGGRESSIVELY FROM 1-3 GEAR. SOMETIMES ACCELERATION IS DELAYED AND SLUGGISH. HAS ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ALSO, THE DELAYED REACTION CAUSES THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD AND THE ENGINE REVS UP HIGH CAUSING THE BREAKS TO FAIL. SO YOU MUST DRIVE WITH MORE DISTANCE THAN NORMAL TO AVOID COLLISION. I HAD ONE CAR COMPLETELY REPLACED. TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY SHOT AFTER 400 MILES. GRINDING, SLIPPING, JERKING, CLUNKING, HESITATION, ETC. THIS TRANSMISSION IS A PIECE OF JUNK. BOTH CARS HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR SINCE THE FIRST DAY I BOUGHT IT AND DROVE IT HOME. I AM PART OF THE LAW SUIT AGAINST FORD WITH THE TRANSMISSION CASE
BOUGHT 2013 FORD FIESTA ON 5/16/13 WITH 40 MILES ON IT. AFTER THE SECOND DAY DRIVING IT STARTED HEARING A GRINDING AND RUBBING TYPE NOISE FROM FRONT LEFT SIDE OF CAR. TOOK IT TO ONE DEALER WHO TOLD ME IT DEFINITELY HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION BUT SINCE I DID NOT BUY IT THERE THEY CANT HELP ME. SO THE NEXT DAY TOOK IT TO THE PLACE I BOUGHT IT. THE MORE THE CAR WAS DRIVEN THE WORSE THIS CONDITION GOT! WITH 700 MILES ON THE CAR THE DEALER AT FIRST TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG, BUT AFTER A RIDE ALONG THE STORY CHANGED FAST. AFTER 4 DAYS I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT A BUY-BACK SINCE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. AT 1 WEEK IN THE SHOP I WAS TOLD THEY WONT DO A BUY BACK BUT FIX THE CAR WHEN THEY KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS. NOW I GOT A CALL THAT ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE CAR AND HAS A TSB ON IT. WE WILL SEE IF THIS WORKS I GUESS. *TR
WHEN I FIRST DROVE THE CAR IT WAS SO SMOOTH AND QUIET; BUT THAT DIDN'T LAST VERY LONG. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK A HEARD A GRINDING NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION, AND THE CAR BEGAN STUTTERING WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. THE GRINDING NOISE BEGAN TO GET WORSE AS THE WEEK WENT ON. I HEAR IT WHEN I AM SLOWING DOWN, AND BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT, AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL AND DID NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO FIX IT. I TOOK IT THAT EXACT SAME DAY TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP, BECAUSE IT WAS STILL MAKING THE EXACT SAME GRINDING SOUND. THE MECHANIC THERE TEST-DROVE IT AND SAID THAT IT WAS NOT NORMAL TO BE HEARING THAT SOUND. HE SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS ABOUT TO FALL OUT. I READ ONLINE ABOUT MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FIESTA TRANSMISSION; AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT FORD IS GOING TO DO ABOUT IT. A SOUND LIKE THAT AND STUTTERING DOES NOT LEAVE ME TO FEEL SAFE WHILE DRIVING. *TR
MERGED ONTO HIGHWAY. CAR WOULD NOT SPEED UP TO HIGHWAY SPEED (65) AND STARTED JERKING BACK AND FORTH - SEEMED LIKE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. WAS IN DANGER OF BEING HIT FROM BEHIND BY OTHER CARS. JERKING DECREASED IN FREQUENCY AND WAS ABLE TO SPEED UP AFTER ABOUT A 1/2 MILE, BUT BASIC PROBLEM CONTINUED. DROVE APPROXIMATELY 6 MILES TO DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. TURNED CAR OFF AND WENT INSIDE TO TALK TO SERVICE TECHNICIAN. HE GOT IN THE CAR WITH ME AND WE DROVE IT FOR A COUPLE OF MILES. THE PROBLEM DID NOT RECUR ON DRIVE. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS A TYPICAL PROBLEM AND THE REMEDY WAS TO TURN THE KEY TO OFF POSITION AND REBOOT THE COMPUTER. I POINTED OUT THAT THIS COULD NOT BE DONE WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY! I WAS NOT INFORMED OF ANY RELEVANT SERVICE BULLETINS OR SCHEDULED FOR ANY REPAIRS. *TR
WITH A NEW 2013 FIESTA THE TRANS STARTED MAKING GRINDING NOISE AT SLOWER SPEEDS WITH A LIGHT FOOT. FIRST AND SECOND GEAR WOULD BE VERY ROUGH GRINDING AND SLOW TO MOVE. TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY TRIED TO TELL ME SOME NOISE IS NORMAL, SO I MADE THE SERVICE ADVISER DRIVE IT. WELL THEY HAD IT FOR 6 WEEKS TO REBUILD THE TRANS. 3 WEEKS LATER THE NOISE WAS BACK. FORD DID A REPROGRAM ON THE COMPUTER. THIS WENT ON FOR 3 MONTHS OF THEM TELLING ME THE NOISE IS NORMAL. I FINALLY BUGGED THEM ENOUGH THAT THEY TOOK THE TRANS APART AND FOUND THAT THE GEARS WERE CHARRED AND HAD LOTS OF PLAY IN THEM. SO AFTER ANOTHER 4 WEEKS IN THE SHOP THEY REPLACED IT IN OCT '13 A WEEK AFTER THE REPLACEMENT THE CAR STILL HESITATES WHEN STARTING TO MOVE FROM A STOP. FORD'S PEOPLE ARE STILL SAYING ITS "NORMAL" CAR HAD 8000 MILES WHEN TRANS WAS REPLACED. *TR
HARSH SHIFTING OF TRANSMISSION, OR OTHER TRANSMISSION SHIFTING COMPLAINTS/PROBLEMS. LOSS OF POWER ON INITIAL TAKE-OFF FROM A STOP OR FROM LOW SPEEDS. THE FEELING OF THE TRANSMISSION "SLIPPING". HARSH OR DELAYED ENGAGEMENT OF TRANSMISSION "JERKING" OR "SHUDDERING" UPON TAKE-OFF FROM A STOP THE MORE PERSONS ARE IN THE CAR AND A/C TURNED ON, THE WORSE THE PROBLEM. *TT
CONSISTENT GRINDING OF THE PART IN THE TRANSMISSION WHEN STARTING AND DRIVING UP TO 35 MPH. FIRST THROUGH FOURTH GEAR GRINDING WITH JERKINESS THROUGHOUT. *TR
LOUD, CLUNKING NOISE AND FEEL WHILE BRAKING PULLING INTO PARKING SPOTS. IT FELT LIKE THE FRONT END WAS GOING TO FALL OUT. *TR
BOUGHT A 2013 FORD FIESTA BRAND NEW AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH IT. IT FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS GETTING CAUGHT WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE AND THEN WHEN IT DOES ACCELERATE IT JERKS, AND GRINDS AND ALL SORTS OF OTHER NOISES. WHEN I AM IN STOP-GO TRAFFIC IT FEELS LIKE IT IS BOUNCING UP AND DOWN AND AT POINTS I AM BEING JERKED IN MY SEAT ALONG WITH THE CAR. GOING UP A HILL IS THE WORST OF ALL BECAUSE IT MAKES NOISES AND SOUNDS/FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL- SOMETIMES JUST TRYING TO GET UP A HILL FEELS LIKE I AM TRYING TO DRIVE THROUGH THICK MUD. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO FORD SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY TELL ME IT IS NOTHING. ONE TIME THE LADY WHO WAS SCHEDULING THE APPOINTMENT TOLD ME THAT HER CAR DOES IT BUT IT IS NORMAL AND SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE TO GET USED TO BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN I GET MY SHEET BACK AFTER I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP THEY BARELY AND VAGUELY ACKNOWLEDGE HOW THEY CHECKED THE PROBLEM AND STATE THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. THERE IS NO WAY THAT IT IS NORMAL TO BE APPREHENSIVE WHEN DRIVING YOUR BRAND NEW CAR BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT SURE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE IN TIME TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC. *TR
FOR THE FIRST 9,000 MILES EVERYTHING WORKED WELL. THEN TROUBLE. NOW, OUT OF THE BLUE, THE VEHICLE STUTTERS, OR SHUDDERS, SOMETIMES QUITE VIOLENTLY AT VARIOUS TIMES WHEN SHIFTING THROUGH THE GEARS. IT'S HAPPENED IN ALL SIX GEARS. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE ENGINE FAILS TO RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL, USUALLY WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP LIGHT, UNTIL IT'S DEPRESSED BEYOND WHERE IT SHOULD BE, AND THEN THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY "CATCH" AND LURCH FORWARD. ALL OF THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY, BUT NEVER WHEN THE CAR HAS JUST STARTED AND IS STILL COLD. I DO A LOT OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY DRIVING, AND ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE SLOW RESPONSE TO THE GAS PEDAL PUT ME AT REAL RISK. I'M TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER TOMORROW TO GET THIS FIXED. *TR
WITHIN 1 MONTH OF DRIVING I KEPT HEARING CRAZY GRINDING NOISES AND IT WOULD BOG OUT BETWEEN 0-30..-RPM WOULD JUMP TO 5 ON SLIGHT ACCELERATION THAN DIVE BACK TO 0; FORD DEALER DID "COMPUTER UPDATE ON ELECTRONICS" - DID NOT FIX PROBLEM; THEY SAID I NEEDED TO "ADAPT TO THE DIFFERENT CLUTCH"; CAR CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS BETWEEN SHIFTING INTO 2ND GEAR- TOOK TO DEALER AND ANOTHER "UPDATE" WAS DONE. I WAS DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY AND HAD TO DROP SPEED FROM 45 TO 30 TO CROSSOVER TO DIFFERENT HIGHWAY AND THE CAR COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AS IF IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I MANAGED TO GET CAR HOME WITHOUT HAVING A STROKE AND SHUT IT OFF. WHEN I GOT HOME I CALLED DEALER WHO CAME AND TOWED IT- THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUTCH. AFTER ABOUT 2 MOS I NOTICED IT WAS NOT SHIFTING RIGHT AGAIN AND BECAME CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY DUE TO PRIOR HIGHWAY INCIDENT. I TOOK IT IN AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED; ALONG WITH ANOTHER CLUTCH. NOW IT IS MAKING A TICKING SOUND AND I AM CONCERNED OF A GAS ODOR. I WILL BE TAKING IT BACK AGAIN. I FILED LEMON LAW ON IT AFTER THE HIGHWAY INCIDENT. MY GREATEST FEAR IS THAT THIS CAR IS VERY POPULAR FOR MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES LOOKING FOR AN AFFORDABLE CAR FOR THEIR NEW TEEN DRIVER. THE NEW DRIVER WILL NOT BE EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO REALIZE HOW TO HANDLE THE SITUATION OR KNOW THAT THE CAR IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE 2013 FORD FIESTA NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!!! *TR
DURING TEST DRIVE, CAR RAN WELL BUT IT WAS NOT REALLY WARMED UP. SALES AND MANAGEMENT NEVER MENTIONED TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH THIS DUAL CLUTCH 6 SPEED POWER SHIFT TRANSMISSION. AFTER THE FIRST WEEK...IT BEGAN SHUDDERING WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND WAS TOLD IT WILL GO AWAY AFTER 1,000 MILES AS THE CLUTCH IS "GREEN". THEY EVEN PRINTED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FROM FORD ABOUT THE PROBLEM. IF IT PERSISTS THEIR TRANSMISSION GUY SAID HE COULD UPDATE THE SOFTWARE (ABOUT 1 1/2 HOURS AND A WHOLE LOT OF PROCEDURES THAT HAVE TO BE SPOT ON). NOW IT ALSO FINDS FALSE NEUTRALS WITH THE ENGINE REVVING LIKE IT IS OUT OF GEAR BETWEEN 1ST AND 3RD. ALSO, THE RIDE IS VERY JERKY BACK AND FORTH AT LOWER SPEEDS AND VERY BAD WHEN THE A/C IN ON. THIS IS PRIMARILY MY WIFE'S CAR AND I DON'T FEEL IT IS AT ALL SAFE FOR HER TO DRIVE. I SAT DOWN WITH ONE OF THE MANAGERS AND ASKED ABOUT A BUY BACK BY FORD...HE TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING AVAILABLE. I ALSO FOUND THAT CAPSTONE LAW APC HAS INITIATED A CLASS ACTION SUIT AND HAVE SIGNED ON, HERE IS THEIR WEBSITE: HTTP://CAPSTONELAWYERS.COM/ WE PAID $17,840 DELIVERED FOR THIS CAR AND I'D LIKE IT ALL BACK AND WE'LL BE HAPPY TO SIGN OFF ON THE TITLE AND SURRENDER THE CAR TO FORD. *TR
WHEN I TAKE OFF FROM A STOP, USING LIGHT OR HARD ACCELERATION, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXHIBITS AN INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION VIOLENT SHUDDER, WHICH SHAKES THE CAR AND CAUSES HESITATION ON ACCELERATION, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. THIS HAS CAUSED ME SEVERAL NEAR MISSES TRYING TO CROSS TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION HESITATION AND SHUTTER, CAUSES DELAY IN ACCELERATION ACROSS ON COMING TRAFFIC. BECAUSE OF THIS, I DO NOT LET MY TEENAGERS DRIVE THE CAR. THE CAR HAS NOW DEVELOPED LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID. 2013 FIESTA. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, THEY SAY ITS NORMAL, SIMPLY REPROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION, AND HAND ME A PAPER FROM FORD WHICH SAYS THE PHENOMENA IS NORMAL. TRANSMISSION ISSUES SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2013. CAR JERKS AND ACCELERATES SPORADICALLY. WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND TO PUSHING ON THE GAS, BUT WILL THEN SUDDENLY TAKE OFF. IT MOVES THROUGH THE GEARS IN A CLUNKY MANNER. MAKES GRINDING NOISES UPON ACCELERATION. THE CAR ROLLS BACK ON HILLS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. FORD HAVE NO RESPONDED IN A HELPFUL MANNER TO MY ENQUIRES AND APPEAR NOT TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
WHEN AT A STOP OR SLOW ROLL AND THEN GIVE IT GAS THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT SLIPPING OR A HESITATION , SO WHEN YOUR BEGINNING TO TAKE OFF OR MERGER INTO TRAFFIC IT FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO STOP. THIS CAN CAUSE ME TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT. TOOK CAR INTO DEALER HE SAID THERE WAS NO SLIPPAGE AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT HAVE A TORQUE CONVERTER . WHAT EVER THE PROBLEM IS IT,S BEEN DOING IT FROM DAY ONE, IM WORRIED THAT MY WIFE MIGHT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT FROM THIS PROBLEM. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS AND IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED, THE CAR SHAKES WHEN IT DOES THIS ALSO ALL AT THE SAME TIME. *TR
THIS WAS A BRAND NEW 2013 FORD FIESTA PURCHASED ON APRIL 2013 THAT HAS ALWAYS INTERMITTENTLY STUTTERED / BOGGED ON ACCELERATION WITH SOMETIMES A METAL NOISE. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS DUE TO THE "NEW" TYPE OF DOUBLE CLUTCH TRANSMISSION DESIGNED TO IMPROVE GAS MILEAGE. CLUTCH WAS ALREADY REPLACED ONCE AND I WAS TOLD YESTERDAY CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE SHOP A MONTH AGO AS THE CAR WAS STUTTERING ON ACCELERATION FAIRLY BADLY AND TOLD THEN THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM.
I'M WRITING ABOUT OUR 6 MONTH OLD 2013 FIESTA, 11,000 MILES. I LOVE IT EXCEPT THE 6 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE OTHER DAY I WAS STARTING UP A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY (UPHILL), AND THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY ENGAGED RIGHT ABOUT HALFWAY UP THE DRIVEWAY, AND I ALMOST RAN INTO THE HOUSE I WAS VISITING BECAUSE OF THE SURPRISE. IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. TO ME, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. BOTH MY WIFE AND I FEEL VERY UNEASY ABOUT THIS AND DON'T THINK IT SHOULD BE CALLED NORMAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED THE SAME DAY THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
FIRST COMPLAINT FILED 7/13 REFERENCE # 10524870. TRANSMISSION MADE A CLANKING NOISE WHEN DRIVING FROM 10-60 MPH. ALSO JERKS BACK ON OCCASION FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND GOING FORWARD. THE CYLINDER BLOCK, HEX HEAD, AND GASKET AND CLUTCH REPLACED. SINCE MY COMPLAINT I HAVE BEEN IN ARBITRATION AND RECEIVED A 5 YEAR/100,000 MILE POWER TRAIN EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN WARRANTY ON 12/2013. THE CARE STILL MAKES THE CLANKING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING "SOUNDS LIKE A LOOSE BICYCLE CHAIN". SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD A OIL LEAK AND ON 4/17/14 THE CAMSHAFT WAS REPLACED. LAST WEEK THE OIL WAS CHANGED AND NOW I HAVE A TRANSMISSION LEAK. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL FORD DEALERS AND TURNED AWAY FROM ONE DUE TO 3 WEEK WAIT TIME FOR ANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND MOST FORD DEALERS AE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH 3-4 WEEKS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR A TRANSMISSION CHECK. *JS

PROBLEM STARTED AROUND 1000 MILES, DEALER " REPLACED CLUTCH " AT 1123 MILES TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER FOR SAME PROBLEM , WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO NEW UPDATES. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 12 TIME FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THEY HAVE TOLD BE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO...
I OPENED MY DRIVER'S DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE LATCH WOULD NOT CATCH PROPERLY TO CLOSE MY DOOR. I CALLED THE DEALER TO COMPLAIN & WANTED TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT BUT I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE WITH AN OPEN DOOR, SO I CALLED A TOW TRUCK & WAITED IN MY CAR BUT BUY THE TIME THE TOW TRUCK GOT THERE, I WAS ABLE TO CLOSE MY DOOR. I LEFT FOR WORK & WAS LATE THAT DAY.. THIS HAPPENS ALL THROUGHOUT THE WINTER. I HAD A CASE #[XXX] BUT WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NEED TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN ORDER TO DIAGNOSE. I CANNOT DUPLICATE THIS PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE. I'VE OWNED THE CAR FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS & HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO MY TRUNK LATCH ALSO, WHICH FORD REPLACED LAST WINTER. I STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY DRIVERS DOOR THOUGH. I HAD THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN TO ME PROBABLY 20 TIMES OR SO OVER 2 YEARS. WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN I HAVE TO WAIT IN MY CAR WITH THE HEAT RUNNING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES & THEN THE DOOR WILL CLOSE. I CALLED FORD AND THEY ARE LOOKING AT MY CAR NOW, BUT I WAS TOLD I WILL HAVE A $100 DEDUCTIBLE IF THEY HAVE TO REPLACE MY LATCH EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY. WITHIN THE FIRST WEEKS OF OWNING THIS NEW CAR - I WAS DISTURBED TO HEAR A GEAR CHANGE RATTLE/NOISE ON TAKE OFF UP TO AT LEAST 30 MPH. THE CAR ALSO HESITATES ON START WHEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND THIS IS ACTUALLY FRIGHTENING WHEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS AND WAS TOLD "OH THE COMPUTER IS ADJUSTING TO THE WAY YOU DRIVE - BY THE TIME YOU REACH 500 MILES ON THE CLOCK IT WILL BE ALL RIGHT" !!! I THOUGHT THAT WAS A BIT OF !!! BUT GAVE IT THE CHANCE. BY THE TIME I REACHED 500 ON THE CLOCK IT WAS STILL A WORSENING PROBLEM..AND I TOOK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. ON PICK UP I WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND ALL IN ORDER. THE PROBLEM SEEMED GET WORSE AND A FAMILY MEMBER DROVE IT AND THOUGHT IT MAY BE TRANSMISSION RELATED. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED SEVERAL PARTS AND I WAS TOLD 'THIS SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM'... IT DIDN'T. I HAVE LESS THAN 2500 MILES AND IT IS 6 MONTHS OLD NOW. I HAVE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THERE IS STILL A PROBLEM AND I CONSIDER IT UNSAFE WHEN IN BUSY COMMUTE TRAFFIC. I AM WAITING FOR THEM TO RESPOND. *TR
WITHIN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF OWNING THIS CAR, I NOTICED A GRINDING RUBBING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR AS I WOULD ACCELERATE, GENERALLY IT WOULD STOP AFTER 2ND OR 3RD GEAR. MY HUSBAND MADE SURE NOTHING WAS RUBBING UNDER THE CAR BUT THE NOISE CONTINUED. AS WE DROVE MORE MILES, NEW SYMPTOMS APPEARED SUCH AS LURCHING WHEN GAS PEDAL WAS RELEASED AND DEPRESSED, SHUTTERING UPON ACCELERATION TO THE POINT WHERE THE CAR BARELY MOVES, WHILE IDLING AT A STOP IT SOMETIMES LURCHES AND BUCKS, AND DOWN SHIFTING WHILE ACCELERATING CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV TO 2500RPM WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, WHILE USING THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE CAR WILL DOWNSHIFT AND REV WITHOUT PROVOCATION JUST DRIVING ON A FLAT STRAIGHT HIGHWAY. MY HUSBAND DRIVES ME TO WORK SOMETIMES BECAUSE THE CAR IS SO UNPREDICTABLE AND DANGEROUS, I'M AFRAID I WILL GET STUCK IN AN INTERSECTION AND GET BROADSIDED OR I'LL LURCH INTO ANOTHER CAR. *TR
