Seat Belt retractor/pretensioner failed and was causing the passenger seatbelt light to go off. Had to repair due to automatic failing of inspection for this issue and the major safety issue this poses. Auto shop charged me $784.82 for today's repair and over $300 (don't remember exact amount, if claim moves forward I will contact them for another copy of that invoice) for a different repair on the seatbelt. I called Ford and they told me their 5 Year/60K warranty on the car expired. I told them that under Federal Code 49 USC Subsection 30120 the manufacturer is required to repair such safety, they told me they couldn't help me and to go away, despite the clear language of this code. Therefore, I am filing this complaint against the Fiesta/ Ford Motor Company (not sure who exactly, I haven't done this before) to request reimbursement under federal law for defective safety equipment. Do not have both bills. The most recent bill will be uploaded. If this claim can move forward, please let me know and I will henceforth retrieve the earlier invoice for the failed attempt at the independent auto repair shop for evaluation and possible compensation.
I was involved in a hit and run accident where I ended up hitting a large wooden pole and wall . My seat belt failed also my steering wheel airbag did not deploy even though I hit the pole and wall head on . All my other airbags deployed but it didn't stop my chest from impacting.the steering wheel and my right knee from smashing into the dashboard. The car was inspected by law enforcement and by my insurance company geico. Geico still has the car because it was a total loss.
Son was in an accident last night and all but the drivers steering wheel airbag deployed causing him to hit his head on the steering wheel.
I was lost and hit a turn to fast cause my car to launch and roll into a concrete ditch multiple times off a freeway turnaround. My airbags never deployed.
THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN MY YARD AND WHEN I STARTED DRIVING THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND WHEN I TURN OFF THE CAR AND ON AGAIN WOULD GO AWAY THEN WOULD RETURN AGAIN BEING STATIONARY
MY SON HIT SLAMMED ON HIS BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM WHO HAD SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES, HIT A PATCH OF BLACK ICE AND SLAMMED DIRECTLY INTO THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. ONLY THE AIR BAG BY HIS FEET WENT OFF. NONE OF THE OTHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE SEATBELT ALSO DID NOT LOCK UP IMMEDIATELY. HE SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, LEFT SHOULDER INJURY, NECK PAIN, AND BRUISING TO HIS CHEST AND ABDOMEN FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. HE HAD TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. THE CAR IS TOTALED AND IS IN A SALVAGE LOT ON HOLD FOR A WEEK IN CASE YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT.
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. FORD DEALER COULDN'T DECODE THE PROBLEM. THEY ASK THAT THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, SHE STRUCK A VEHICLE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT AND HER GRANDDAUGHTER SUSTAINED SEAT BELT CONTUSIONS AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE TOW YARD AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER DUE TO BEING A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

CAR WAS TRAVELING APROX. 35 MPH.

OUR DAUGHTER WAS IN A 3 CAR ACCIDENT. THERE WAS BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN TRAFFIC WENT FROM MOVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED TO STOPPED. DIRECTLY AHEAD OF OUR DAUGHTER WAS A REFRIGERATOR TRUCK. THE OFFICER AT THE SCENE SUGGESTED SHE BE CHECKED OUT IN THE ER. MY DAUGHTER SUSTAINED SOFT TISSUES INJURIES AND BRUISES. AFTER SOME TIME WITH THE CHIROPRACTOR SHE SHOULD BE FINE. MY QUESTION/CONCERN DEALS WITH THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THE DRIVER KNEE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG DID NOT. IS THAT POSSIBLE? ARE THERE SITUATIONS WHERE IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE LOWER BAG TO DEPLOY WITHOUT DEPLOYING THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG? THE SEAT BELT DID STOP HER, ALTHOUGH IT LEFT A LARGE RED MARK ON HER SHOULDER. IF THE SYSTEM WORKED CORRECTLY THAT IS FINE. WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WITH EXPERTISE IN THIS AREA TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NOTHING FAULTY IN HER CAR. VIOLENT LEFT SIDE COLLISION (T BONE TYPE) BY HIGH POWERED 400 HP 1995 CHEVROLET COMARO GOING THROUGH A STOP SIGN, ACCELERATING ACROSS FOUR LANES, THEN LEAVING THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. I WAS NOT INJURED. THE CAR WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED. THE CAR WAS PUSHED PERPENDICULAR AND PARTLY ROTATED. THERE WERE TWO EYE WITNESSES. AFTER A MOMENT OF RECOVERY I GAVE CHASE AND CAUGHT THE DRIVER IN A DRIVEWAY SEVERAL BLOCKS DOWN WISCONSIN AVE IN TAMPA FLORIDA. CALLED POLICE AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY USAA. I WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I REPORTED THIS TO FORD AND REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER SEEMED TO TAKE GREAT INTEREST INITIALLY AND SAID SHE WOULD HAVE AIR BAGS THOROUGHLY EVALUATED AFTER COLLISION REPAIR. AFTER REPAIR, A MONTH LATER, I CALLED HER AND SHE DELAYED RESPONDING FOR THREE WEEKS, FINALLY RESPONDING AFTER MANY CALLS TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER. SHE SAID AIR BAGS WERE CHECKED BY GREENWAY FORD WHERE I HAD COLLISION REPAIRED. THIS WAS NOT TRUE AND A LIE. SERVICE WAS NOT AWARE OF POSSIBLE NON DEPLOYMENT OF SIDE AIRBAGS WHEN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS UNOCCUPIED. SERVICE CHECKED ALIGNMENT ONLY. FURTHER PRESSING FORD TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR INITIAL DIRECTIONS TO HAVE AIR BAGS EVALUATED HAS RESULTED IN FORD REFUSING TO EVALUATE SIDE AIR BAG FUNCTION RELATIVE TO NOT DEPLOYING AS A RESULT OF THIS VIOLENT SIDE COLLISION. I AM REPORTING THIS TO YOU BECAUSE I HAVE DOUBT WHETHER THE SIDE AIR BAGS IN MY FORD FIESTA 2014 AND A SECOND FORD FIESTA 2014, ([XXX]), I PURCHASED AFTER THE ACCIDENT, MAY NOT HAVE FUNCTIONAL SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WITH THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT UNOCCUPIED, A POTENTIAL SAFETY RISK FOR OCCUPANTS OF THE REAR SEAT.
