THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR BACK UP CAMERA WOULD GO BLANK, BECOME FUZZY OR DISPLAY IMAGES UPSIDE DOWN WHILE IN OPERATION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A WARNING MESSAGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO THE NEAREST DEALER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO MCCANDLESS FORD MEADVILLE, INC. (433 BALDWIN ST, MEADVILLE, PA 16335) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE FUEL MODULE. THE CONTACT HAD THE FUEL MODULE REPLACED OUT OF POCKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE BACK UP CAMERA WAS NOT REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN SNOW/ICE CONDITIONS ON CITY STREETS IN BIG BEAR CA, ICE BUILT UP IN THE RIGHT REAR TOE LINK CHASSIS POCKET CAUSING THE TOE LINK TO FLEX AND EVENTUALLY BREAK LEAVING US STRANDED IN BIG BEAR... THIS PART IS PART OF A RECALL IN THE CANADIAN PROVINCE S BASED ON THE SAME WEATHER CONDITIONS... THE LAST ATTACHED PHOTO SHOWS THE FORD OEM UPGRADED LINK THAT WE HAD TO GET AS A REPLACEMENT OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET
WHILE DRIVING I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL, THANKFULLY IT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH THE KIDS. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. I RESTARTED AND THE POWER STEERING WAS RESTORED. THIS OCCURED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS UNTIL THE POWER STEERING JUST STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. I CHECKED FOR RECALLS AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL THAT INCLUDED MY MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR FOR THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST (RECALL #15S18) I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SARASOTA FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD UPON CHECK IN THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. THE RECALL STATES THAT IT COVERS MODEL YEAR 2013 FORD FLEX WITH ANY ENGINE. WITH A KNOWN, EXTREEMLY DANGEROUS ISSUE, I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW MY VEHICLE (EXPIERIENCING THE EXACT ISSUE DESCRIBED) IS NOT COVERED.
I TRIED STARTING THE CAR IT WOULD START THEN SPUTTER OUT VERY SHORTLY AFTER, AFTER HAVING THIS OCCUR 3 TIMES THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER AT ALL AND HAD TO GET A TOW. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT SAT FOR A DAY THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE CAR STARTED UP AND THEY WERE ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR WITHOUT AN ISSUE. THEY PRICED THE WORK AT $700+ TO BE COMPLETED. THE RECALL NUMBER 16V621000 (OR 16S31) DID NOT SHOW THOUGH IT IS THE SAME EXACT ISSUE HE DESCRIBED.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 FORD FLEX THE POWER STEERING DISAPPEARED AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED IT OFF, WHEN I STARTED IT BACK UP THE POWER STEERING RETURNED TO NORMAL. I STOPPED AT MY DESTINATION BUT WHEN I RETURNED TO LEAVE I FOUND THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT RESPONDING. I DROVE IT HOME WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY. THIS REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, FUNCTIONING AT THE START OF THE DAY BUT FAILING AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE POWER STEERING FINALLY GAVE OUT ALTOGETHER. I CHECKED AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL THAT WAS ANNOUNCED ON JUNE 02 OF 2015 FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE COVERING FORD FLEXES FROM 2010 TO 2013. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL DATE, WHICH COVERED VEHICLES MANUFACTURED UP UNTIL FEB 28TH OF 2012. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND ONE, HOW DOES A RECALL COVER THE YEARS 2010 TO 2013 BUT HAS AN END DATE FOR ELIGIBILITY OF 2012?, THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED ON JUNE 02 OF 2015 AND MY VEHICLE SUFFERED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE OF THOSE THAT THE RECALL EXTEND TO. AS WELL AS WHAT WAS DONE TO REMEDY THE PART FAILURE AFTER THE JUNE 02, 2012 DATE THAT MY VEHICLE (SUFFERING THE SAME MALFUNCTION/FAILURE AND MANUFACTURED JUST OUTSIDE OF THE END DATE OF THE RECALL) WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL? I HAVE FOUND THAT THE ISSUE IS WITHIN THE SEALED STEERING ASSIST ASSEMBLY ITSELF WITCH SUFFERS HEAT DAMAGE DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF OTHER COMPONENTS. HEAT SHIELDING WITHIN THE UNIT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO BREAK DOWN, RESULTING IN THE INTERIOR COMPONENTS TO FAIL DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT EXPOSURE. *JS *JS
POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY BRING MY VEHICLE TO A STOP WHICH WAS AFTER DRIVING A MILE WITH LITTLE-TO-NO STEERING. OUR MECHANIC INFORMED US THAT THIS IS DEFINITELY A PART OF THE POWER STEERING RECALL ON THE 2013 FORD FLEX, HOWEVER WHEN I PULL MY VIN IT APPEARS THERE ARE NO RECALLS. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS I DRIVE 4 CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE DAILY. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT I AS A CONSUMER CAUSED - I PERFORM MY REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL FOR.
"POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT".TOOK A LEFT TURN ON A MAIN ROAD IN TRAFFIC AND I HEAR "DINGDINGDINGDING" AND THE STEERING WHEEL PULLED OUT OF MY HAND AND WAS FIGHTING ME TO GO STRAIGHT, VERY HEAVILY. ALMOST WENT INTO ONCOMING CARS AS I TRIED TO PULL IT BACK INTO THE TURN. ALMOST HIT A BUS STOP WITH PEOPLE WAITING, BUT I HIT THE CURB. PINCHED A CHUNK OUT OF THE TIRE AND SCRAPED UP THE WHEEL. I LOOKED IT UP AND IS SAME OR SIMILAR TO FORD SAFETY RECALL 15S18. MY VEHICLE WAS MADE LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL DATE LIMIT, SO FORD CLAIMS IT IS NOT COVERED. I AM JUST GLAD MY WIFE WAS NOT DRIVING IT, ESPECIALLY WITH OUR KIDS IN IT. SHE COULD NOT HAVE HANDLED IT AND COULD HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NO CODES, NOTHING.JUST THE WARNING DISPLAYED. THEN YOU PRESS "OK" AND IT GOES AWAY WITH NO MORE INFORMATION.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILURE WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING BETWEEN 50-55MPH. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING MESSAGE AT EXACT MOMENT OF FAILURE.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT ERROR RECEIVED WHEN I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND SLOWLY ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE. I SEARCHED RECALLS FOR 2013 FORD FLEX AND DID FIND A RECALL NUMBER, 15S18, THAT PER FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE BUT DESCRIBE EXACTLY WHAT MY ISSUE IS. THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED I SHOULD HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AND IF THIS IS THE ISSUE TO HOLD ON TO MY SERVICE RECEIPTS IN CASE THERE IS A RECALL ISSUED IN THE FUTURE. I KNOW THIS IS A VALID ISSUE THEY ARE JUST UNWILLING TO COVER IT BECAUSE MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL.
FRONT SEAT TRACKS WEAR PREMATURELY DUE TO POORLY DESIGNED TEETH. AS A RESULT THE SEAT BECOMES 'WOBBLY' CAUSING IT TO ROCK FORWARDS AND BACK WHICH COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE SEAT SHOULD REMAIN FIRMLY IN PLACE. MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE ACROSS A WIDE RANGE OF FORD PRODUCTS VS SPECIFICALLY WITH ONE PARTICULAR VEHICLE.
WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE STEERING STARTED FIGHTING AGAINST MY INPUT. IT BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO EVEN PARK CORRECTLY BACK IN THE DRIVEWAY. ENDED UP LEAVING IT IN THE GRASS. TURNED VEHICLE OFF, RESTARTED ENGINE AND STEERING RESUMED TO NORMAL. NOW I DON'T TRUST THE VEHICLE AT DRIVING SPEEDS.
WHILE DRIVING THE CARS POWER STEERING JUST FAILED.
2013 FORD FLEX WITH ~130,000 MILES. SLOW RIGHT HAND TURN INTO PARKING LOT, COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN COMBINATION WITH "POWER STEERING FAILURE" AND "CHECK ADVANCETRAC" WARNING LIGHTS. RESEARCH INDICATES A RECALL (NHTSA ID: 15V340000,FORD 15S18, NHTSA) FOR MY VEHICLE BUILT BETWEEN 9/7/2010 AND 2/28/2012. AS MY BUILD DATE WAS 12/12 IT DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. I HAVE CONFIRMED THIS WITH MY PERSONAL MECHANIC, A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP (VARSITY FORD, ANN ARBOR MI) AS WELL AS WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. SYMPTOMS OF MY FAILURE ARE IDENTICAL TO THOSE DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. MECHANIC FOLLOWED TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE RECALL, BY FLASHING/UPDATING PSCM MODULE SOFTWARE. STEERING APPEARED TO BE WORKING NORMAL. SUBSEQUENT WARNING LIGHT ~3DAYS LATER OF "SERVICE POWER STEERING" APPEARED, BUT STEERING WAS STILL FUNCTIONING. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE IS "BANDAID", IF COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING OCCURS IN THE FUTURE, THE SITUATION MIGHT BE DIFFERENT RESULTING AN ACCIDENT AND/OR INJURY. IT APPEARS THE STEERING PROBLEM CONTINUED ON CARS BUILT AFTER FEB 2012, I HAVE INFORMED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMPLAINT HAS BEEN "ESCALATED" TO FORD REGIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER. I FEEL THAT THE BUILD DATE FOR COVERED REPAIRS SHOULD BE EXTENDED.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND OUT OF NOWHERE MY VEHICLE STARTED STALLING AS IF VEHICLE HAD NO GAS. GAS TANK WAS FULL AND VEHICLE SHOWED ME A WRENCH SIGN AS I WAS LOOKING AT MY DASHBOARD

THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

ALSO, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. TOMBALL FORD (22702 TOMBALL PKWY, TOMBALL, TX 77375, 281-351-3060) REPLACED THE GEAR ASSEMBLY, CORE, CORE RETURN, A BOLT AND PERFORMED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *JS
LEFT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR ALARM COMES ON RANDOMLY AND CAUSES THE DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY. UNSAFE WHEN IT HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AS IT IS HARD TO SEE THE ROAD AND CAUSES STRESS TO THE DRIVER AND TO PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN AS THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHOLE MOVING.
I HAD PROBLEMS WITH BOTH THE POWER STEERING AND THE FUEL DELIVER ON MY FLEX. IN BOTH CASES I FOUND RECALL NOTICES THAT ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS NOTED IN THE RECALLS. IN THE CASE OF THE POWER STEERING THE DEALER REPLACED THE MODULE FOR FREE BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. NOW I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL BUT THE DEALER STILL SAYS MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I BELIEVE THERE ARE MORE VEHICLES THAN ORIGINALLY DETERMINED THAT ARE HAVING PROBLEMS. THE DEALER IN THIS CASE IS VILLAGE FORD, 23535 MICHIGAN, DEARBORN, MI. 48124. THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING WHILE I WAS WORKING (9 HOURS) AND WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START.
HAVE HAD MULTIPLE DOOR LATCH/SENSOR ASSEMBLIES FAIL WHICH RESULTS IN: DOOR AJAR MESSAGE CONSTANTLY BEING GIVEN. THIS RESULTS IN DOME LIGHTING STAYING ON WHILE DOOR IS CLOSED AND DEPLETING THE BATTERY CAUSING AN UNMONITORED ELECTRICAL USE. IT ALSO IS A DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER DUE TO BOTH THE WARNING LIGHT BUT ALSO THE AUDIO ALERT THAT PLAYS WHEN UNDER A CERTAIN SPEED TELLING YOU TO PARK AND CLOSE THE DOOR. THIS TAKES AWAY FROM OTHER POSSIBLE ALERTS THE CARS COULD GIVE YOU DUE TO OVERLY ALERTING THE DRIVER.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR SENSOR THINKS THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED. THE SENSOR HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE 2013 FORD FLEX AS EVIDENT WHEN SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS. THIS SENSOR CAUSES THE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY. IT IS ALSO AFFECTING THE CAR ALARM.
FUEL PUMP FAILURE AT 90,000 MILES. EXACT ISSUE WAS RECALLED ON SOME MODELS IN THE SAME YEAR, JUST NOT MY VIN. PUMP IS IN HIGH DEMAND, PRICES ARE THUS HIGHER THAN USUAL AND ALSO UNAVAILABLE THRU ANYONE BUT FORD DIRECTLY. MY CAR WAS, THANKFULLY, IN THE DRIVEWAY WHEN FAILURE OCCURRED AND WAS TOWED TO LOCAL SHOP.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR FORD FLEX WHEN THE POWER STEERING GAVE OUT. NOT ONLY DID IT GIVE OUT IT BECAME VIOLENTLY HARD TO STEER. LUCKILY IT WAS AT LOW SPEED PULLING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY. SHE DID HAVE THE NEIGHBORS VEHICLES BEHIND HER, BUT WAS ABLE TO BRAKE SAFELY AND AVOID A COLLISION. IN DOING MY RESEARCH I HAVE NOTED THAT FORD ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM IN THESE VEHICLES BY A RECALL. MY VEHICLE WAS JUST OUT OF RANGE AND NOW MY LOCAL FORD DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT FORD CAN ARBITRARILY PICK A DATE AND CUT OFF WHEN THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY STILL PROBLEMS WITH THIS STEERING SYSTEM. MY MECHANIC HAS ADVISED ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE POWER STEERING MODULE. THE SAME MODULE COVERED UNDER FORD RECALL 15V340000.
THE RIGHT SIDE MIDDLE ROW SEAT BELT CONTINUES TO HAVE PROBLEMS. THE MIDDLE ROW IS ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO BUCKLE BY THE KIDS AND THE RIGHT SIDE DOESN'T EVEN WORK.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. FORD HAS ALREADY RECALL SOME FORD 2013 CARS WITH RECALL#15S18 BUT AND EXCLUDES SOME OF THEM FROM COVERING THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE FAULTS IN THOSE MODELS. ‏THE PROBLEM MAY CAUSE COLLISIONS, BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WHERE THE SAME ISSUE AND ERROR MESSAGE, AS WELL AS THE REPAIR METHOD, AND THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED, AND THE COMPLETE MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE WITH AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. DRIVING OUR FORD FLEX WHEN THE POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY GAVE OUT. IT BECAME HARD TO STEER. LUCKILY IT WAS AT LOW SPEED PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT. AS A RESULT I HIT A LOW PLANTER AND SUFFERED BODY DAMAGE. NOW THE STEERING JUST GROANS WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL. DEALER STATES NOTHING IS WRONG AND THE NOISE IS NORMAL. IN DOING MY RESEARCH I HAVE NOTED THAT FORD ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM IN THESE VEHICLES BY A RECALL. MY VEHICLE WAS JUST OUT OF RANGE AND NOW MY LOCAL FORD DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT FORD CAN ARBITRARILY PICK A DATE AND CUT OFF WHEN THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY STILL PROBLEMS WITH THIS STEERING SYSTEM AND BELIEVE ALL 2013 FLEX'S USED THE SAME PARTS.
THE EPASS ELECTRONIC DRIVE BY WIRE STEERING SYSTEM FAILED AFTER 60K MILES. THIS WAS THE SAME EPASS SYSTEM IN THE OTHER 2013 FORD FLEX THAT WERE PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE EPASS FAILURE. WHEN THE EPASS SYSTEM FAILED THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING AND COULDN'T BE DRIVEN. I SPENT $2,500 ON THE NEW PARTS AND MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR A WEEK.
THE ENGINE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING, EVEN ON HIGHWAY OR INTERSECTION OR FILLING GAS AND THE VEHICLE DON'T RESTART RIGHT AWAY ' ENGINE LIGHTS MISFIRE. AND ENGINE THROTTLE BODY SENSORS/OXYGEN SENSORS BROKE. HAVE FIXED WITHOUT RESOLVE TO ISSUES (RECURRENT). ON MULTIPLE DATES AND MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY.
WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR JUST SHUT DOWN. 70 MILE A HOUR TRAFFIC AND IT JUST DIES. I GET IT OFF THE ROAD AND HAVE IT TOWEDVTO A MECHANIC WHO TELLS ME THAT IT IS THE FUEL RELAY SENSOR. WE REPLACE THAT AND THE CAR RUNS FINE FOR ABOUT 4 WEEKS. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY HEADED TO TAKE MY KIDS TO SCHOO IT JUST DIES IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. ONCE AGAIN I CALL FOR A TOW TRUCK AND TAKE IT TO THE MECHANICS AND ONCE AGAIN HE PUTS A NEW FUEL PUMP RELAY SENSOR ON. A GAIN IT WORKED FINE FOR ABOUT 4 WEEKS AND QUIT AGAIN. FORD TOLD ME THAT MY CAR HAD A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP AND THAT IT WAS PROBALY ACTING UP AGAIN. I ASKED IF I COULD BRING IT IN TO BE FIXED AND THEY QUOTED ME SOME OUTRAGEOUS PRICE. THEY SAID THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN FIXED ON MY CAR. WELL IF IT HAD BEEN FIXED THEN I WOULDNT BE PUT IN THESE DANGEROUS SITUATION S AND AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR FEAR OF GETTING RAMMED BY A SEMI WHEN MY FUEL PUMP JUST OUT OF THE BLUE DECIDES TO SHUT DOWN . PLEASE REOPEN THE RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.

POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON I-95 EXIT. VEHICLE VEERED OFF INTO DITCH. LUCKILY A NICE PERSON SAW ME GO OVER THE ROAD AND PULLED THE CAR OUT. CAR WAS TAKEN TO FORD WHO THEN CHARGED ME CLOSE TO 3,000 TO REPLACE A COMPUTER MODULE. HAS HAPPENED ANOTHER TIME SINCE THEN..
THE DOOR SENSORS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THESE SENSORS SENSE WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN OR CLOSED. THE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONS CAUSING THE DOORS NOT TO LOCK OR CAUSING THEM TO UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING OR EVEN WHILE PARKED. IT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LOCK THE DOORS EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK. WHEN YOU TRY TO LOCK THE DOOR MANUALLY THEY WILL IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK. THIS INABILITY TO EVEN LOCK THE DOOR MANUALLY IS A AN ADDITIONAL SAFETY ISSUE. WE CANNOT FEEL SAFE WHEN TRAVELING BECAUSE WE CANNOT LOCK THE DOORS AND TRUST THEM TO STAY LOCKED. THIS SENSOR ALSO CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS WILL BE ON FOR HOURS AT A TIME AND YOU CANNOT TURN THEM OFF. OFTEN, THE BATTERY IS DEAD BECAUSE THE LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ON. THESE SENSORS CAUSE THE CAR ALARM TO GO OFF IF THE CAR IS PARKED AND LOCKED BECAUSE IT SUDDENLY SHOWS THE DOORS AS OPEN. OUR DOORS CONSTANTLY TRIP. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU PRESS THE BRAKE TO STOP THE FLEX, THE ALARM WILL DING SAYING THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN AND TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK. IT IS ALMOST LIKE THE DOOR SENSOR MOVES OR TILTS WHEN STOPPING THE CAR LOSING ITS CONNECTION THAT ALLOWS IT TO SENSE TO DOOR CLOSURE. ALL OF THIS HAPPENS DAILY! HELP!!!
DOOR AJAR INDICATOR FALSELY INDICATES DOOR IS OPEN CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON WHILE DRIVING AS WELL AS AN AUDIBLE ALARM. OCCURS WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE MOVING. INTERIOR LIGHTS ARE DISTRACTING AT NIGHT AND UNNECESSARY ILLUMINATION AFTER PARK CAUSES BATTERY TO DRAIN.
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMING ON AND STAYING ON. THIS RESULTS IN LIGHTS STAYING ON INSIDE THE CAR. IT HAS ALSO RESULTED IN THE CAR ALARM GOING OFF NUMEROUS TIMES. HOWEVER THE DOOR APPEARS TO BE CLOSED ALL THE WAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AS WELL AS RANDOMLY TURNING ON AND/OR OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN SUBDIVISION STREET AND MAJOR HIGHWAYS. WHEN IT IS AJAR THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY. THIS CAN BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND IS BECOMING A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR MY AND MY FAMILY. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO HAVE THIS LOOKED AT AS IT APPEARS I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THESE ISSUES. THE STEERING WHEEL ON THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO USE. WHEN STEERING IT TAKES GREAT FORCE TO TURN THE WHEEL ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. FEELS LIKE DRIVING A CAR THAT HAS RUN OUT OF POWER STEERING FLUID, AS THOUGH THE STEERING HAS GONE OUT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST 12 MONTHS OFF AND ON AND WITHIN THE PAST MONTH HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY WORSE.
FAILURE OF ENGINE TO START/RUN DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. CURRENT FORD SAFETY RECALL #16S31 (NHTSA #16V621) IS LIMITED ONLY TO FORD/LINCOLN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE ECOBOOST TURBOCHARGED ENGINE. THE FAULTY COMPONENT ON MY NORMALLY ASPIRATED ENGINE, FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE #AA8Z-9D370-B, IS THE SAME COMPONENT BEING REPLACED ON VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THE #16V621 NHTSA SAFETY RECALL. TO AVOID ENGINES SHUTTING OFF AT SPEED OR NOT STARTING, IT APPEARS THAT THE RECALL WILL NEED TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE NORMALLY ASPIRATED ENGINES AS WELL. WE WERE FORTUNATE BECAUSE OUR VEHICLE FAILED SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY, NOT AT 75 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. MY WIFE'S CONCERN IS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO HER AND OUR FOUR GRANDCHILDREN IF THIS FAILURE HAD TAKEN PLACE ON THE INTERSTATE IN BUSY TRAFFIC AT 75 MPH. WHY IS THE SAME COMPONENT THAT IS FAILING ON ECOBOOST TURBOCHARGED ENGINES BEING COVERED BY FORD SAFETY RECALL #16S31 NOT BEING RECALLED ON SIMILAR VEHICLES EQUIPPED NORMALLY ASPIRATED ENGINES USING THE IDENTICAL COMPONENT? FAILURE OF THE COMPONENT HAS THE SAME EFFECT OF AN ENGINE THAT CUTS OFF AT SPEED OR WILL NOT START. YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. 2 DOOR LOCK/SENSORS REPLACED TO DATE (6/2019). DOOR SENSORS SAY IT IS OPEN WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED. OCCASIONALLY IT WILL DECIDE THE DOOR IS OPEN WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING ALL LIGHTS IN THE VEHICLE TO GO ON. HAZARD WHEN DRIVING IN THE DARK. DOORS DO NOT LOCK AT ALL WHILE DRIVING IF SENSOR SAYS DOOR IS OPEN. WAS ALSO UNABLE TO LOCK THE CAR WHILE THE SENSOR ISSUE WAS ONGOING BECAUSE THE ALARM WOULD GO OFF MULTIPLE TIMES A NIGHT. BATTERY DRAINED MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ON ALL NIGHT AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN OFF INTERIOR LIGHTS IN THE 2013 MODEL.
MY 2013 FORD FLEX WAS REPAIRED AT MALLOY FORD IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. THE CAR WAS PARKED AND FAILED TO START, SO I HAD IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THE REPAIRS CONSISTED OF REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP DRIVE MODULE AND THE FUEL PUMP. MY FORD FLEX HAS 69K MILES AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED BY ANY RECALL NOTICES. ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA WEBSITE, THESE REPAIRS SHOULD BE COVERED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. BOTH OF THESE ITEMS ' THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND PUMP ' ARE LISTED AS: 1) FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTION, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 MANUFACTURER FORD MOTOR COMPANY COMPONENTS FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. FORD'S NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS 16S31. 2) FUEL DELIVERY MODULE MAY CRACK AND LEAK NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V812000 COMPONENTS FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE FORD'S NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS 13S04-S1. THE FIRST PART OF MY COMPLAINT IS THAT FORD DOES NOT RECOGNIZE EITHER OF THESE TWO RECALLS ON ITS OWN WEBSITE, OR IN THE AUTOMATED PHONE DIAL-IN SYSTEM THAT I USED TO REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE; I.E., WHEN I INPUT THE FORD RECALL NUMBERS OF 16S31 OR 13S04-S1, THE MESSAGE I RECEIVED WAS THAT NO SUCH RECALL EXISTED! I POINTED OUT THAT THE MANUFACTURING SITE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS; RATHER THE PARTS THAT FAILED WHERE INDEED THE PARTS IN THE RECALL MESSAGES. SUPERVISOR RECOMMENDED THAT I FILE A COMPLAINT AND PROVIDED ME A CASE NUMBER. SO I AM WRITING TO MAKE THIS A FORMAL COMPLAINT. THE BILL WAS $1078.

THERE IS CURRENTLY AN ISSUE WITH OUR ECOBOOST V6 TURBO CHARGER. THERE IS A OLD DRAIN TUBE LEAK THAT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED THROUGH FORD AND IS A FIRE SAFETY ISSUE. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE 2014 AND 2015 FORD FLEX WHICH IS IDENTICAL PARTS AS OUR VEHICLE BUT NEVER RECALLED. WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS GET RECALLED BEFORE HARM IS HAD. THIS IS AN ONGOING LEAK THAT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME.
