THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR STAYS ON EVEN AFTER THE DOOR IS SHUT. TWO DOORS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE REPAIRED ALREADY IN THE PAST, NOW A PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED DOOR AND ANOTHER DOOR ARE COMING UP ON THE DASH SCREEN AS DOOR AJAR. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS TO COME ON, WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY AND THE ALARM TO RANDOMLY GO OFF AT NIGHT WHILE THE ALARM IS SET AND THE DOOR "OPENS AND CLOSES" AS THE CAR CAR IS THINKING IS HAPPENING WITHOUT DISARMING FIRST. THE DOME LIGHT ALSO STAYS ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS WHILE DRIVING, WHICH IS DISTRACTING AT NIGHT. THE DOORS WILL NO LONGER AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHILE DRIVING EITHER SINCE THE CAR THINKS THE DOORS ARE OPEN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEYOND FORD.
THE DOOR LATCHES KEPT FAILING WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU GET AN INDICATION THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR, THIS SETS OFF THE ALARM WITH OPERATES THE FLASHING LIGHTS AND WILL KILL THE BATTERY IF LET TO SO FAR I,VE CHANGED THREE LATCH AND A LIFT GATE WITH NO END IN SIGHT
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE CAR STALLED OUT SEVERAL TIMES. WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AND GET GOING AGAIN BEFORE IT STALLED ONE FINAL TIME AND I HAD TO LEAVE IT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WENT BACK AN HOUR LATER. IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND I DROVE IT BACK HOME. A WEEK LATER I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE AND WHEN I CAME OUT IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP MODULE
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WON'T GO OFF WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY OR MOVING . THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE OFF . IT , DRAINS BATTERY AND AUTOMATIC LOCKS WON'T ENGAGE WHILE CAR IS ON AND MOVING. MY KIDS CAN OPEN DOORS WHILE DRIVING . IT ALSO CAUSES THE CAR ALARM TO GO OFF ! *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR WARNING KEEPS LIGHTING UP AND BEEPING. THE DOOR IS NOT AJAR, BUT CONSTANTLY GETTING THE MESSAGE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RE-SHUT THE DOOR, EVEN WHILE DRIVING. INTERIOR LIGHTS NOW NOT WORKING PROPERLY BECAUSE THE CAR THINKS THE DRIVER DOOR IS CONSTANTLY AJAR. INTERIOR LIGHTS NO LONGER COME ON WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR, ONLY WHEN KEY IS IN THE IGNITION. THEY TAKE 20-30 MINUTES TO SHUT OFF NOW AFTER THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. *TR
RIGHT FRONT SIDE DOOR IS SHOWN AJAR. INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON. VERY DANGEROUS DO DRIVE AT NIGHT. BATTERY WILL RUN DOWN SINCE LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF. ON LINE STRING INDICATES VERY HIGH INCIDENCE OF FAULTY DOOR SWITCHES.
I AM HAVING MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE! FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT IS DOOR LATCHES ARE NOT READING CLOSED WHICH DISALLOWS SAFETY LOCK DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. I ALSO BELIEVE THIS MIGHT BE THE REASON THE ALARM/PANIC RANDOMLY AND QUITE OFTEN GOES OFF. SECONDLY THE THIRD ROW SEATS NO LONGER OPERATE CORRECTLY FROM THE PANEL IN THE REAR CARGO AREA. IT CLICKS AND TRY'S TO MOVE BUT WILL ALWAYS RETURN TO THE NORMAL POSITION MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO USE THEM TO ALLOW EXTRA STORAGE SPACE. LASTLY THE TRACTION ASSIST IS VERY ERRATIC WHEN DRIVING IN SNOW WHICH MAKES THIS VEHICLE LESS THEN DESIRABLE TO DRIVE IN THE SNOW, EVEN WITH THE CONTROL ASSIST OFF IT HANDLES VERY POORLY IN ICY/SNOWY CONDITIONS. OVERALL I HATE THIS CAR IF I WASN'T UPSIDE DOWN IN IT WOULD BE GONE ASAP.
THE ISSUES ARISES WHEN THE DOOR LATCH AND INTEGRATED SENSOR FAIL TO RECOGNIZE THE DOOR BEING CLOSED PROPERLY. A DISPLAY ON THE DASH WILL INFORM THE DRIVER OF THE WHICH DOOR IS "AJAR". THE VEHICLE WILL NOT CHIME AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL TURN OFF IF THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN DRIVE AND DRIVEN. THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT THE VEHICLE WILL NOW NOT ALLOW THE DOORS TO LOCKED WHILE PARKED OR IN MOTION. AN INVITED PERSON COULD ENTER THE VEHICLE AT A LIGHT OR AN THE EVENT OF A SERIOUS COLLISION THE DOOR MAY COME AJAR. A SEARCH OF THE INTERNET WILL REVEAL THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND FORD HAS EVEN REDESIGNED THE PART BECAUSE IT IS AWARE OF THIS FLAW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOME LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP FOR MY MODEL YEAR BUT NOT MY VIN. I HAD THE SAME STALLING ISSUE. IT WAD STATIONARY WHEN IT HAPPENED, THE FINAL TIME, WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND JUST WOULDNT START.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN THE DOORS WERE CLOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DID NOT CEASE TO FUNCTION, THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK, AND THE HORNS WOULD FUNCTION INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCHES WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INDICATES (1) OR MORE DOORS OPEN DESPITE ALL DOORS BEING CLOSED. OCCASIONALLY, SLAMMING DOOR(S) WILL RESOLVE; OTHER TIMES, LIGHTLY CLOSING WILL SATISFY THE DOOR SWITCH. COLD AND WET WEATHER SEEMS TO AGGRAVATE THE ISSUE...NUMEROUS TIMES IN WHICH THE DOOR SWITCH COULD NOT BE SATISFIED, RESULTING IN DOME LIGHT STAYING ON WHILE DRIVING, MAKING NIGHT TIME DRIVING VERY DANGEROUS. ISSUE HAS BEEN ON-GOING FOR PAST ~3 MONTHS. EACH DOOR SWITCH IS APPROXIMATELY $500/EA, PLUS LABOR TO INSTALL. DOZENS AND DOZENS OF OTHER CONSUMERS MENTION SIMILAR PROBLEMS PER INTERNET SEARCH. SEVERAL OF THOSE CONSUMERS HAVE INDICATED THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS FAIL AFTER SHORT SERVICE TIME, TOO.
STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED! A SENSOR THAN CAME UP STATING SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC AND NOT EVEN 2 SECONDS LATER ANOTHER SENIOR COMES UP STATING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT! I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER! I THEN READ CAR MANUAL STATING THAT THE SENSORS THAT WERE SHOWN HAVE TO DO WITH AN ELECTRIC POWER STEERING THAT CAN BE RESET BY SHUTTING OFF CAR AND RESTARTING 10 SECONDS LATER! I THEN BROUGHT IT TO KELLY FORD AND THEY ARE STATING THAT THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING RACK MUST BE REPLACED! THEY STATED THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON MY VIN AND THAT I HAD NO WARRANTY! I BEGAN RESEARCH AND THERE HAVE BEEN OVER 500,000 CARS RECALLED FOR THE SAME EXACT REASON BUTVFORD INSIST THAT MINE IS NOT COVERED! I ALSO CONSTANTES FORD MOTORS AND THEY HAD ME FILE A CASE WHICH DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! THE DEALER QUOTED ME THAT THIS WAS A 2,000 DOLLAR JOB! MY ARGUMENT IS THAT THIS IS THE SAME EXACT THING THAT EVERY OTHER FORD HAS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED WHAT IS SO DIFFERENT ABOUT MINE! MY CAR WAS ALSO MANUFACTURED IN THE SAME AREA... I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND! THIS WILL BE MY ONE AND ONLY FORD AND I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ONE AGAIN! FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE ALSO HORRIBLE TO VISIT! EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE BEEN IN ANY OF THE 3 DEALERS CLOSE TO ME HAVE ALWAYS BEEN UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATIONS! I NEVER FEEL AS IF THEY ARE BEING HONEST AND CAN NEVER HELP COME UP WITH A SOLUTION! AS SIMPLE AS MY CAR BEING DIAGNOSED! THE MAN MARK THAT WORK THERE QUOTED ME $159.00 AND THE WOMAN QUOTED ME $124.00 WHEN SHE QUESTIONED HIM IN FRONT OF ME! HE STATED OH THAT'S JUST AN EXTRA FEE SO THEY HAVE MORE TIME TO LOOK AT THE CAR AND WORK ON IT BUT IF SHE CHOOSES TO FIX IT HERE IT WILL BE WAIVED! THE WOMEN THEN STATED WELI HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT CHARGE BEFORE! MIND YOU I WAS JUST DROPPING OFF FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY COULDN'T BE HONEST AM I SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE THE SHEET OF PAPER THAT ONLY HAS WHAT I CLAIMED TO SEE ON THE CARE SENSORS. *TR
RIGHT FRONT DOOR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT THAT IT IS CLOSED. THIS HAS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AND HAS RESULTED IN ALL OF THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS NUMEROUS TIMES (LISTED IN ORDER OF MY GREATEST TO LEAST SAFETY CONCERN): 1) UNABLE TO LOCK DOORS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT. THIS PROBLEM CONCERNS ME THE MOST AS IT COULD RESULT IN ONE OF MY SMALL CHILDREN OPENING THE DOOR AND FALLING OUT AT HIGHWAY SPEED (OR ANY SPEED FOR THAT MATTER). 2) BATTERY DRAIN. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND THE DOOR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT IT'S CLOSED, ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS NO WAY OF DISABLING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS, THIS HAS RESULTED IN A DEAD BATTERY ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. 3) FACTORY ALARM SOUNDING. WHEN THE DOOR (LATCH SENSOR?) IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND THE VEHICLE IS OFF WITH THE DOORS LOCKED, IF THE DOOR MALFUNCTIONS IT CAUSES THE ALARM TO SOUND. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT ALL TIMES OF DAY, AT VARIOUS TEMPERATURES AND IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS (DRY, RAIN, SNOW, ETC). THIS HAS LED TO THE NEED FOR US TO STOP LOCKING THE DOORS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF.
SENSOR INDICATES ONE OF THE BACK SEAT DOORS IS AJAR, BUT IT APPEARS TO BE CLOSED. REPEATED CLOSING OF DOOR DOES NOT RESOLVE ISSUE. CAR ALARM SOUNDS WHEN VEHICLE THINKS DOOR IS AJAR. INSIDE LIGHTS STAY ILLUMINATED WHEN DRIVING. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS. I SEE THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON OTHER MODELS, I'VE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM FLEX OWNERS ONLINE, AND I BELIEVE THE FLEX SHOULD BE RECALLED AS WELL, ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ARE FAMILY VEHICLES AND OFTEN (AS IN MY CASE) ARE USED TO TRANSPORT MULTIPLE CHILDREN. *TR
MY FLEX PTU SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT FELL APART WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS A LOUD BOOM THEN SEVERE GRINDING WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. THE MECHANIC SAID THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS SO OFTEN WITH FORD AWD SYSTEMS THAT THEY KEEP THEM IN STOCK. I CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY TO COMPLAIN AND FIND WHAT THEY WERE DOING ABOUT IT. I WAS ADVISED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND THAT I SHOULD FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOU. THE COST TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE WILL BE $1500. THAT IS NOT A MINOR FIX AND I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ALTHOUGH THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED, THE DOOR REMAINED CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
DRIVER DOOR SHOWS AJAR WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. CAUSES DINGING NOISE WHEN DRIVING. AND ALARM TO GO OFF RANDOMLY WHEN UNATTENDED. MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL VEHICLE HAS ACCELERATED. DOOR WILL NOT LOCK CORRECTLY BECAUSE OF CONDITION. THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER. WHILE VEHICLES LIKE MINE ARE PART OF A RECALL FOR THE SAME REASON, FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTION, MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS OF ANY ISSUES. I DROVE TO WORK IN THE MORNING AND CAR WOULD NOT START WHEN I RETURNED TO DRIVE HOME THAT EVENING. WILL COST NEARLY $1K TO REPAIR FOR THIS FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE. WHEN ASKED IF THERE IS SOMETHING I DID TO CAUSE, I WAS ADVISED THAT THIS JUST HAPPENS. DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO ME.
BOTH FRONT DOOR SENSORS INDICATE THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT, AND THIS PREVENTS THE CHILD SAFETY LOCKS FROM BEING ENGAGED. THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN THE DOOR SENSOR SAYS THAT IT IS OPEN. THIS HAPPENS WITH THE CAR IS IN MOTION AS WELL AS WHEN IT IS OFF. WHEN IT IS OFF AND THIS HAPPENS THE ALARM SOUNDS.
PASSENGER DRIVER SIDE DOOR ALWAYS SAYS AJAR, DOORS DON'T LOCK, DOME LIGHT ALWAYS STAYS ON. DRIVING, AND STATIONARY. *TR
WHEN I PUT GAS IN THE GAS EITHER FILL UP OR EVEN JUST A CAP OFF ON THE GAS TANK, STARTING THE ENGIN IS DIFICULT. IT HESITATES, WHEN TRYING TO START, AND HAS A ROUGH VERY ROUGH IDLE. ACCELARATION IS NOT A PROBLEM ONCE WE GET GOING, BUT IT IS THE INITIAL STARTING OF THE VEHICLE THAT IS A PROBLEM.
HAVE REPLACED 3 OF 4 DOOR LATCHES. FAULTY LATCHES SHOWS THE DOOR IS AJAR, KEEPS THE INTERIOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED, WON'T ALLOW THE DOORS TO BE LOCKED WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION, CAR ALARM CANNOT BE SET, CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY,.
RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR SWITCHES. THE SWITCHES FAIL, TELLING THE CAR THAT A DOOR IS OPEN, CAUSING THE DOME LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AT NIGHT AS IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE WITH INTERIOR LIGHTS ON. THIS ALSO CAUSES A CONSTANT DRAIN ON THE BATTERY WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AS THE SENSOR INDICATES THE DOOR IS OPEN, CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON. *TR
CAR REPORTS THAT THE DRIVER DOOR IS AJAR WHEN CLOSED. APPARENTLY A COMMON ISSUE WITH SEVERAL FORD MODELS, SOME HAVE BEEN RECALLED. DEALER IDENTIFIED THE ISSUE AND REPLACED THE LATCH. THIS WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY.
WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH OUR BACKSEATS' SEATBELTS NOT WORKING PROPERLY FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS. THEY CONSTANTLY GET STUCK, DON'T CLICK IN, DON'T RETRACT, AND MORE RECENTLY, PLASTICS PARTS FELL OFF. WE HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO COCONUT POINT FORD IN ESTERO, FL NUMEROUS TIMES COMPLAINING OF SEATBELT ISSUES. LAST WEEK, THEY TOLD US THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE TWO REAR SEATBELT MECHANISMS (FOR $870.06!). A DAY AFTER THE REPAIR WAS DONE, WE FOUND THREE PLASTIC PARTS TO THE SEATBELTS (SEE PHOTO) ON THE SEAT. I AM QUITE CONCERNED THAT THE SEATBELTS IN THE CAR ARE DEFECTIVE AND WILL NOT PROTECT US AND OUR FOUR CHILDREN IN THE EVENT OF IMPACT. THIS CAR IS A 2013, AND THE SEATBELTS SHOULD NOT BE BREAKING!!!!
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED, REPEATEDLY (NOT ISOLATED INSTANCE); DOME LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED AND IGNITION IS OFF, REPEATEDLY (NOT ISOLATED INSTANCE).
FORD FLEX 2013 FAILED POWER STEERING ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2ND WHILE STEERING TO THE RIGHT (AND MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE) THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2013 FORD FLEX COMPLETELY FAILED CAUSING ME TO ALMOST DRIVE OFF A HILL INTO THE EMBANKMENT BELOW. A POWER STEERING FAILURE MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD AS THIS WAS HAPPENING. THE CAR HAS ONLY 55,000 MILES. AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA FORD. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND A RECALL #15V340000 WAS FOR THIS EXACT POWER STEERING PROBLEM FOR 2011, 2012 AND SOME 2013 FORD FLEXES. AFTER RUNNING TESTS AT RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA FORD- A DIAGNOSIS OF DTC U3000:49 WAS FOUND SAYING POWER STEERING INTERNAL FAILURE. AFTER INITIALLY BEING LED TO BELIEVE (BY RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA FORD) THAT FORD WAS HONORING IT UNDER THE RECALL, TO MY SURPRISE FORD HAS DECLINED MY 2013 FORD FLEX SAYING IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE INITIAL RECALL(NUMBER ABOVE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY AND LIABILITY ISSUE. I COULD HAVE DRIVEN OFF A CLIFF WITH MY 3 KIDS IF IT FAILED AT THE WRONG MOMENT OR HIT OTHER CARS AND CAUSED SOMEONE ELSE HARM OR EVEN DEATH. THE POWER STEERING FAILED COMPLETELY WITHOUT NOTICE. I WAS UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. I THINK OTHER OWNERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE IT TAKEN CARE OF BY FORD SO THEY ARE NOT AT RISK OR IN DANGER. FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING THEIR CUSTOMERS AND REPLACING ALL DEFECTIVE POWER STEERING ISSUES. I HAVE ATTACHED PART OF THE INVOICE FOR YOU TO SEE THE DIAGNOSIS CODE. I OPTED TO NOT GIVE THEM ANOTHER $2,000 TO FIX THEIR DEFECTIVE ISSUE AND HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE IT ELSEWHERE. SO THAT IS WHY IT SAYS DECLINED REPAIRS FOR THAT SECTION. THE SENSORS ON THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR THINK THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN EVEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED. MY CAR ALARM GOES OFF CONSTANTLY, THE CHILD SAFETY LATCH WON'T ENGAGE, AND MY DOORS NO LONGER AUTOMATICALLY LOCK ONCE I DRIVE OVER 25 MPH. THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR EVERY 2013 FORD FLEX OWNER THAT IS ACTIVE ONLINE. FORD KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE AND ISN'T ADDRESSING IT.
MY FLEX WILL NOT TURN OVER . THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH. I HAD TO TAKE TOW IT TO THE MECHANIC AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT STARTED WITH NO ISSUES NOT EVEN A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. 4 DAYS LATER SAME ISSUE CAR WILL CRANK BUT NOT TURN OVER. I HAVE READ ABOUT THE RECALL WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AS MINE WITH THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS. HOWEVER MINE IS NOT IN THE LIST. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEED TO BE LOOKING INTO.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR MESSAGE WILL COME ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHICH CAUSES ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO COME ON AS WELL. I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND OPEN AND SHUT THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES AND FINALLY IT RECOGNIZES THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY SHUT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE YET FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THE INTERFACE MODULE PART # 18A812 NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A COLLISION WHERE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE SERVICE DEPT FOR THE 2 1/2 MONTHS NOW AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHEN THE PART IS COMING AND WHY IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM WARRANTY SINCE IT IS CONSIDERED AN AIRBAG MODULE. I CAN NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE SINCE THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT GUARANTEE THAT IT IS SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE SINCE THEY DO NOT KNOW IF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IF I AM IN A COLLISION OR JUST DRIVING AROUND. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO PARTS CENTER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE), BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
PASSENGER DOOR SENSOR SHOWS THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN, EVEN WHEN DOOR IS SECURELY CLOSED. THIS CAUSES SAFETY ISSUES AS WELL AS A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY AND THE INABILITY TO ENABLE THE THEFT ALARM. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE AS MY RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY FORD.
DUE TO A FAULTY DOOR SENSOR ON MY FRONT DOOR INDICATES THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR, I AM UNABLE TO LOCK MY CAR DOORS AS A RESULT. MY 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER OPENED THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AND ALMOST FELL OUT.

THE DOOR LATCHES DO NOT WORK I'VE HAD THEM REPLACED TWICE AND THE ELECTRICAL PANEL THAT CONTROLS THE AC DOES NOT WORK IT BLOWS OUT HEAT CANNOT TURN HEAT OFF BECAUSE THE TOUCH SCREEN DOES NOT WORK IT IS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND IT FLICKERS ON AND OFF AND THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT PERIODICALLY
FUEL LEVEL WILL SUDDENLY DROP FROM 1/4 TANK TO EMPTY WITHIN A MATTER OF SECONDS. THE DISPLAY WILL SHOW APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES TO EMPTY, LESS THAN A MINUTE LATER IT WILL DISPLAY GIVE A LOW FUEL ERROR AND THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES YOU CAN WAIT 20 MINUTES , TURN THE KEY ON AND IT WILL AGAIN SHOW 1/4 TANK OF FUEL. WHETHER OR NOT IT THEN DISPLAYS 1/4 TANK OF FUEL, IF YOU TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A GAS STATION TO FILL UP IT WILL ONLY ACCEPT 12-14 GALLONS. THE VEHICLE HAS AN 18 GALLON FUEL TANK. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE THINKS IT SUDDENLY RUNNING OUT OF FUEL DESPITE THERE BEING ANOTHER 4-6 GALLONS OF FUEL IN THE TANK.
FOR OVER A MONTH AND A HALF NOW, WHEN DRIVING SPONTANEOUSLY THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR LIGHTS UP, THE CHIMES ALERT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAYS ON AND ALL DOORS UNLOCK, AND IF YOU TRY TO LOCK THEM AGAIN WHILE DRIVING THEY WILL UNLOCK 5 SECONDS LATER; YOU NEED TO COMPLETELY STOP THE CAR AND DON'T DRIVE IN ORDER TO LOCK THEM, BUT THE DOOR AJAR LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN IF THE DOOR IS CLOSED, SO WHEN YOU START DRIVING AGAIN THE CAR WILL UNLOCK THE DOORS AND THE WARNING BEEPS AND LIGHTS WILL BE WITH YOU ALL THE TIME WHILE YOU DRIVE. BEING A FAMILY CAR, THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE HAVING SMALL KIDS SEATING IN THE BACK. LAST YEAR I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF THAT AND REPLACE IT, BUT INSTEAD THEY JUST CLEANED THE AREA AND THAT'S IT, IT FIXED FOR A WHILE, BUT THE PROBLEM IS REPEATING AGAIN. NOW, BECAUSE I'M OUT OF WARRANTY THEY WANT TO CHARGE $500 TO GET IT FIXED, WHEN IS A PROBLEM THAT IS WELL KNOWN BY THEM.

DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS FAULTY. THIS PREVENTS AUTO LOCKS FROM WORKING, PREVENTS PROXIMITY UNLOCK FROM WORKING, PREVENTS DOOR FROM LOCKING PROPERLY AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL, AND MAY DRAIN BATTERY AS WELL. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR MOVING.
IN THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE SWITCH IN THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY STICKS AND SENDS A SIGNAL TO THE CAR THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR EVEN WHEN IT IS FULLY SHUT. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED HAPPENING YOU COULD SLAM THE DOOR A FEW TIMES TO GET IT TO WORK.
SEVERAL DOOR LATCH SENSORS MALFUNCTIONING. THEY STATE "DOOR AJAR" WHEN DOORS ARE CLOSED. PREVENTS DOORS FROM LOCKING WHILE OPERATING VEHICLE.
2013 FORD FOCUS TITANIUM WHICH HAS A BROKEN PAWL SPRING TAB, WHICH TYPICALLY RESULTS IN A CONDITION WHERE THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AS MY DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR OPENED AND I WAS UNABLE TO SHUT MY DOOR. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD CORPORATE, PEORIA FORD, JONES FORD, NATIONAL HIGHWAY SAFETY ADMINISTRATION, CONTACTED A LOCAL NEWS REPORTER WHO DID AN ARTICLE ON THE SAME CAR AS MINE WHICH FORD ENDED UP PAYING FOR AFTER THE ARTICLE WAS MADE PUBLIC, BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, AND SEVERAL OTHER REPORTS MADE. I HAVE A CLAIM WITH FORD CORPORATE HOWEVER THEY ARE DENYING ANY INTERNAL ASSISTANCE FOR FIXING THIS REPAIR DUE TO IT BEING A DEFECTIVE PART HOWEVER NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CURRENTLY AS 2013 FORD FUSION AND 2013 FORD FIESTA IS BEING LISTED WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT TO GET THIS FIXED I SHOULD HAVE HAD THE EXTENDED WARRANTY OR WOULD HAVE TO PAY BETWEEN $500 TO $600 TO GET THIS DEFECTIVE PART FIXED OR RISK INJURY DUE TO THE DOOR NOT BEING SECURED PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO FORCE ME TO SIGN A WAIVER STATING THAT FORD WAS NOT LIABLE IF ANYTHING SHOULD HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WHICH I REFUSED TO SIGN. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND IF / WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS AS A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE FORD WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR MORE THEN JUST THE DEFECTIVE PART.

DOOR AGAR SENSOR IS STUCK IN THE DOOR OPEN POSITION. THIS CAUSES THE ELECTRIC LOCK SYSTEM TO NOT LOCK THE DOORS. WHEN YOU MANUALLY PUSH THE LOCK DOWN IT JUST POPS BACK UP. IT ALSO KEEPS THE DOME LIGHTS ON. THOUSANDS OF THESE VEHICLES ARE EXPERIENCING THIS EXACT PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS STATIONARY OR MOVING.
