My back up camera is all fog. I see that other years for the ford flex have a recall for fog camera. I believe that it is a safety issue and my auto should have a recall for the camera also.

A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND SUGGESTED TO THE CONTACT THAT HE NEEDED TO PERFORM A SOFTWARE UPDATE WITH THE FLASH DRIVE THAT HE HAD PURCHASED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND CAUSED SEVERAL OTHER SOFTWARE RELATED FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.
Rear view camera does not come on in reverse gear. It was looked at about 18 months ago and the dealership service manager said it was the camera that needed to be replaced. they also saw that the camera came on for a few seconds , then went off again. they tried it about five times ,on and off. they wanted to charge me $200.00 to diagnose the problem. so , here i am complaining to nhtsa about my vehicle's problem.

THE SENSOR WAS ALSO CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE'S CRUISE CONTROL, WHICH FAILED TO OPERATE WHEN THE SENSOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
