TIRE FORMED BUBBLE ONLY AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. TOOK CAR TO FIRESTONE DEALER AND DEALER SHIP. BOTH SAY THE FRONT RIGHT RIM IS BENT THAT WHY THE TIRE FORMED A BUBBLE. THEY SAY THE BUBBLE WAS IN A CERTAIN SPOT WHICH TELLS THEM THAT I HAD TO OF HIT A POTHOLE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE. THE OLD TIRE WAS SENT TO FIRESTONE FOR TESTING.*AK
THIS FOCUS 2000 ALLREADY HAVE 7 RECALLS YESTERDAY THE WIRING OF THE CAR CAUSE A FIRE AND DESTROY ALL THE FRONT OF MY CAR PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD DO THANK YOU OLGA RIVERA. *AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT ROTORS AND BRAKES ARE CAUSING THE TIRES TO LOCK.
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALLS, 00V303, 00V218, 00V418, RECALL REGARDING INJECTOR PRESSURE SWITCH, AND CLUTCH PEDAL RETURN SPRING AND CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER, HOWEVER HAS NOT HAD ANY OF THEM COMPLETED, DEALER STATES THEY ARE WAITING FOR PARTS AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE CONSUMER HAS HEARD FROM THE DEALER. *SLC
CAR IS STALLING AND FORD REFUSES TO LOOK AT IT UNLESS I CAN DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I CAN'T. ITS GOING TO CUZ AN ACCIDENT.*AK
ALL OF THESE COMPONENTS LISTED HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES AND AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF INTENSITY. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT FORD DEALERS BOTH HAVE SAID PROBLEMS ARE IN OUR HEADS. I WILL GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR COMING UP WITH CLEVER EXCUSES, THEY BLAMED THE VIBRATION ON THE LUGGAGE RACK, THE LIGHTS DIMMING IS A "FORD THING" WELL THIS CAR IS A LITTLE OVER A YEAR OLD IT HAS HAD 4 RECALLS. IT SEEMS THAT EVERY MONTH A NEW PROBLEM COMES UP WITH THIS VEHICLE (TIRESIZE: 15)
WHEN DRIVING 50 MPH OR ABOVE FRONT END VIBRATES, AND VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK

BRAKES HAVE BEEN MAKING NOISE, DEALER SAID DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR ON THE VEHICLE.
AT 45MPH WHILE GOING UP HILL BRAKES AND CLUTCH WENT TO FLOOR, CAUSING DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*AK

INTERMITTENTLY, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER HAS REPLACED FUEL PUMP THREE TIMES, AND INJECTOR PRESSURE SENSOR. HOWEVER , PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. DEALER REINSPECTED VEHICLE, AND HAS DETERMINED THAT SOMETHING IN FUEL TANK WAS CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL OUT. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *AK
CONSUMER STATES ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR MAINTENANCE SHE WOULD TELL MECHANIC THAT SHE COULD HEAR BRAKES MAKING NOISE AND EACH TIME MECHANIC WOULD INSPECT VEHICLE, NOTHING WAS WRONG, MECHANIC MADE A STATEMENT TO CONSUMER THAT THE NOISE SHE WAS HEARING WAS FROM THE TIRES AND THEY NEEDED TO BE ROTATED AND THE NOISE WOULD CEASE, CONSUMER STATED THE NOISE BECAME WORSE AND WHEN SHE RETURNED, THE MECHANIC INFORMED HER THAT NEW ROTORS WERE NEEDED WHICH WERE REPLACED, AS OF 4/30/01 CONSUMER CONTINUES TO HEAR THE BRAKES. *JB
WHILE TRAVELING NOTICED RADIATOR FLUID LEAKING. CONSUMER HAD VEHICLE SERVICED. TECHNICIAN STATED RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A HOLE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WAS MAKING A TURN AFTER SLOWING DOWN AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. VEHICLE CONTINUED IN SAME DIRECTION. THEN, APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE LATER STEERING WOULD UNFREEZE. HAVE BEEN HAVING SAME PROBLEM SINCE VEHICLE BOUGHT NEW. IT WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES. WAS INFORMED BY MECHANIC CAUSE OF STEERING LOCK UP COULD NOT BE FOUND.*AK
BRAKES SEEM SOFT AND THERE IS SQUEAKING. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED BRAKE SHOES. PROBLEM RETURNED 1 DAY LATER AND IS WORSE THEN WHEN I TOOK IN FOR SERVICE. I CALLED DEALER AGAIN AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK IN. SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT HE HAD 3 CARS IN THERE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. HE SAID THAT "FORD WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, THEY WERE WORKING ON WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING AND IT WAS ONLY A SHORT TERM PROBLEM."*AK
WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, BRAKE PEDAL WAS NORMAL AND BRAKES DID NOT CATCH, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER HAS INSPECTED AND REPAIRED VEHICLE; BUT, BRAKES GRIND WHEN APPLIED. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN VEHICLE WAS STARTED, AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND AND THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO MOVE, CONSUMER TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND GOT OUT TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS LODGED BEHIND THE WHEELS THERE WAS NOTHING THERE SO CONSUMER RESTARTED THE VEHICLE PUT IT IN REVERSE AND THERE WAS A CRUNCHING SOUND THEN A SUDDEN SURGE AS THE VEHICLE MOVED AS CONSUMER BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND DROVE AWAY, VEHICLE SEEMED SLUGGISH, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE IN TO BE INSPECTED AND WAS ADVISED THAT SINCE THE BRAKE LININGS IN FORD PRODUCTS HAD BEEN CHANGED TO METAL PARTICLE FROM ASBESTOS THAT THE LININGS FLAKED OFF DUST AND THE DUST COLLECTS INSIDE THE DRUMS WHEN IT IS HUMID, THE DUST TENDS TO CLUMP AND FREEZE UP THE DRUMS. *JB

WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED DRIVER APPLIED BRAKES AND SYSTEM DEACTIVATED. DRIVER HIT RESUME BUTTON AND VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED TO 80 MPH. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK

WHILE DRIVING REAR HATCHBACK WINDOW SHATTERED DUE TO NO RUBBER LINING AROUND WINDOW. WINDOW HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN WITH FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW, A WEEK LATER. THIS HAS ALSO BEEN REPAIRED. *AK
AT 15,000 MILES CONSUMER NOTICED STEERING WAS SHAKING. A FEW MILES LATER, CONSUMER WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN STEERING WHEEL CONTINUED TO TURN LEFT, WHEEL COULD BE TURNED ALL WAY AROUND. CONSUMER WAS TOLD ALIGNMENT WAS TOTALLY GONE. *AK
BRAKES WERE SQUEAKING AT 10,000 MILES. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC. AT 22,000 MILES, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH ALIGNMENT. CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT BRAKES WERE DOWN TO METAL. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS STEERING WHEEL WILL JUMP, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SWAY FROM SIDE TO SIDE. DEALER HAS REPLACED SEVERAL PARTS OF FRONT END, AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.*AK
RIGHT PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL COLLASPED ,PULLING CV JOINT OUT WHILE DRIVING AT 30MPH, CAUSING WHEEL TO FALL SIDEWAYS AND INTO CURB, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. *AK
BRAKE PROBLEMS: THERE IS ALOT OF NOISE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING THING SINCE ME AND MY HUSBAND PURCHASED THE FOCUS. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER SHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS TO REPORT THE PROBLEM AND TO THIS DAY NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ALL THEY HAVE TO SAY IS THAT ITS SUPPOSE TO DO THAT. WE NOW HAVE TO TOTALLY REPLACE THE WHOLE BRAKE SYSTEM AND HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THE CAR FOR MORE THAN A YEAR AND A HALF. DEALERSHIP IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNWILLING TO HELP AT ALL.*AK
TIRE WENT FLAT. CONSUMER TOOK IT TO DEALER, AND DEALER COULD NOT FIND HOLE. THEY REPLACED FRONT TIRES 4 MONTHS LATER, ANOTHER HOLE IN TIRES, WAS FLAT AND COULDNT FIND LEAK. DEALER BLAMED PROBLEM ON BRAKES. CONSUMER WENT TO INDEPENTENT SHOP FOUND OUT TIRES WERE WARPED. CONSUMER WENT BACK TO DEALER, AND REMOVED TIRES. TOOK CARE OF WARPING PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CONSUMER HEARD NOISE, VEHICLE WAS VIBRATING. TOOK IT TO DEALER, AND DEALER SAID VEHICLE NEEEDED WHEEL BALANCE. CONSUMER GOT IT BACK, NOISE GOT LOUDER. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING ELSE WRONG. THIRD TIME WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN A SERVICE PERSON WENT OUT WITH CONSUMER ,AND BEFORE THEY COULD LEAVE THE LOT CONSUMER TURNED AROUND. THEY HAD BEEN TELLING CONSUMER IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE BEFORE CONSUMER WENT ON LONG DISTANCE TRIP. DEALER DETERMINED IT TO BE REAR WHEEL BEARING. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CONSTANT LOUD REAR BRAKE SQUEALS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER 3 TIMES. SHOES HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH SO-CALLED UPDATED VERSION, DRUMS HAVE BEEN GROUND ALL TO NO AVAIL. DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS THAT ENGINEERING IS WORKING ON THIS ISSUE. I'VE HEARD THIS STORY FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. *AK

CONSUMER WAS DRIVING 5-7 MPH SLID ON WE PAYEMENT WHILE ABS WAS ACTIVATING, AND SLIGHTY HIT VEHICLE IN FRONT. DUAL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, CAUSINGS 2ND TO 3RD DEGREE BURNS ON TOP OF HAND. PASSENGER HIT WINDSHIELD AND DASHBOARD. PLEASE PROVIDE FUERTHER INFORMATION. *AK
MANUFACTURER'S RECALL 00S55; CONSUMER HAS TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER TWICE. BUT, BOTH TIMES DEALER,GRAHAM FORD IN DIXON ,TN TELE#615-740-7957, CLAIMED THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE, AND HAS BEEN WAITING SINCE JANUARY 2001. IN MEANTIME, CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STARTED MAKING GRINDING NOISES IN THE REAR END, AS THE CONSUMER LOWERED THE SPEED THE NOISE SEEMED TO GET WORSE, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN VIBRATING AND BOUNCING ALL OVER THE ROAD, UPON INSPECTION BY THE DEALER IF WAS FOUND THAT THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL RETAINER BEARING FAILED AND DESTROYING THE SPINDLE AND DRUM, THIS COMPONENT WAS RECALLED PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. WHEN DRIVING AND UPON EXITING A PARKING LOT BY APPLYING LITTLE FORCE TO ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND QUICKLY RELEASING FORCE FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING WHICH CAUSED UNWANTED ACCELERATION. VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO STOP. CONSUMER NOTICED THROTTLE BODY CAME UNDONE WHICH CAUSED THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THERE WAS ONLY A HOOK ATTACHING THROTTLE.
