THE REAR DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM EITHER THE INSIDE NOR OUTSIDE. *TR
DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IS MOST LEFT LANE AND COMPLETELY LOST ACCELERATOR POWER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HAD TO CROSS ABOUT 3 LANES TO GET TO THE SHOULDER BEFORE COMPLETE LOSS OF MOMENTUM. *TR
LEFT FRONT TIRES CONTINUE TO WEAR EXCESSIVELY ON THE INSIDE OF THE TREAD. I HAVE HAD THE ALIGNMENT CHECKED, AND EVERYTHING IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. I ROTATED TIRES AS SHOWN IN OWNER'S MANUAL. TIRES ROTATED FRONT TO BACK, BACK TO FRONT. THE LEFT FRONT WEARS THE INSIDE OF THE TREAD; THE TIRE ON THE LEFT REAR STOPS WEARING, ONCE PLACED ON THE BACK. ALSO, UPON MOVEMENT, TIRE NOISE INSIDE THE VEHICLE IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND THIS NOISE SOUNDS LOUDEST FROM THE INSIDE, FRONT LEFT OF THE VEHICLE (DRIVER'S SIDE). AT 25 MPH, INSIDE TIRE NOISE IS 45 DB. AT 55 MPH, INSIDE TIRE NOISE IS 85 DB. RADIO IS OFF: WINDOWS ARE CLOSED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. DEALER SAYS THAT IT IS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE, AND THAT I SHOULD ALIGN THE CAR WITH EVERY OIL CHANGE, AT 3000 MILES: THIS IS NOT WHAT THE OWNER'S MANUAL RECOMMENDS. ALIGNMENT SHOP SAYS THAT ALIGNMENT IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS, AND PROVIDES A PRINT-OUT SHOWING THE READINGS. VEHICLE TRACKS STRAIGHT AND TURNS APPROPRIATELY. I WILL WEAR OUT THE TWO LEFT TIRES BEFORE 30,000 MILES, WHILE THE RIGHT SIDE TIRES SHOW LITTLE WEAR FOR THE MILEAGE. *TR
MY CAR LOCKS FINE, BUT SOMETIMES DIFFERENT DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK. IT STARTED WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR, ONE DAY IT JUST WOULDN'T UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB OR MANUAL. IT HAS NOW DONE THIS WITH ALL THE DOORS EXCEPT THE DRIVER DOOR. MY CONCERN IS THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS, WHICHEVER DOOR IT IS CANNOT BE OPENED, SO WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M EITHER LOCKED OUT OF MY VEHICLE OR I'M LOCKED IN DURING A CRASH? *TR
2/21/14 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, MY NAME IS [XXX]AND I WOULD LIKE TO RAISE AN AWARENESS TO AN ISSUE THAT IS REOCCURRING WITHOUT ANY PERMANENT SOLUTION. I SET OUT IN THIS ENDEAVOR TO GET A CAR IN 2009 AND NEEDLESS TO SAY THE ROCKY ROAD THAT HAD LEAD TO THIS POINT IN TIME HAS BEEN ROUGH. THE CAR IN QUESTION IS THE 2010 FORD FOCUS THAT I WAS TOLD, AT THE TIME, WOULD BE A SUITABLE VEHICLE TO FIT THE REQUIRED MODIFICATIONS I?D NEED FULLY OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE. THE MODIFICATIONS THAT WERE MADE ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1. ZERO EFFORT STEERING, 2. A HAND CONTROL FOR ACCELERATION AND BRAKING, 3. A BACKUP STEERING PUMP IN CASE THE STEERING WENT OUT I WOULD STILL HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, 4. A ?V? GRIP HANDLE WITH COUNTERWEIGHT ON THE STEERING WHEEL, 5, A PEDAL GUARD OVER THE GAS PEDAL. NOT BUT 6 MONTHS AFTER THE FRESH INSTALL DID IT GIVE ME OPERATING ISSUES. THE ISSUE WAS THAT THE STOCK PUMP IS A LIGHT DUTY PART AND WITH THE ADDED STRESS OF THE ADDITIONAL BACKUP STEERING PUMP IT WOULD MAKE THE MAIN PUMP WORK TOO HARD AND ALLOW AIR INTO THE SYSTEM. ABOUT 11 MONTHS LATER AFTER THIS ISSUE WAS ?RESOLVED? IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND 2 MORE TIMES AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT IN ABOUT THE SAME TIME FRAME OF EVERY 11 MONTHS (ALMOST A YEAR BUT NEVER QUITE EXACT) UP UNTIL JUST RECENTLY WHEN THE STEERING SYSTEM FAILING IN EARLY JANUARY(BRINGING THE TOTAL TO 4). THERE WAS A LOT OF BACK AND FORTH ?HE SAID, SHE SAID? IN REGARDS TO THE PROBLEM BETWEEN FORD, DRIVE MASTER, AND THE COMPANY THAT HAD INSTALLED THE MODIFICATIONS (MC MOBILITY). I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATE PEOPLE AWARE OF THE INCOMPATIBILITY ISSUE SO THAT IT DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANY FUTURE INDIVIDUALS AND THIS COMBINATION IS NOT RECOMMENDED IN ANY FUTURE CIRCUMSTANCES [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
EXPERIENCING ROUGH IDLE AND COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AT NORMAL SPEED, ENGINE CHECK AND WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON AT TIME OF ISSUE. HAD A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AT ADVANCE AUTO AND ERROR CODE P2135 THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR/SWITCH A/B VOLTAGE CORRELATION AND ALSO ERROR CODE P2111 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM STUCK OPEN. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO COMPLETE LOSE OF POWER AT NORMAL DRIVING SPEED AND JUST ENOUGH TIME TO PULL OVER OR ALMOST GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND. *TR
WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. AND VEHICLE LOSES ALL POWER. HAVE TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD AND SHUT ENGINE OFF AND RESTART IT. *TR
MY SON WAS DRIVING IN THE CAR POOL LANE WHEN THE CAR CAME TO AN ABRUPT STAND STILL. IT TURNS OUT THE COMPRESSOR FAILED AND THREW ITS PARTS ALL OVER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT DAMAGING PARTS OF THE ENGINE. WHEN THE ENGINE FAILED, HE LOST BRAKING AND STEERING ABILITIES. COMPRESSORS DO NOT LAST FOREVER. HOWEVER, WHEN A COMPRESSOR QUITS WORKING THAT SHOULD BE THE EXTENT OF THE FAILURE. THIS COMPRESSOR FAILED AND BASICALLY CAME APART. THE CAR NOT WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A CAR POOL LANE PUT MY SON AND HIS WIFE IN DANGER AS THERE WAS NO WHERE TO GET OUT AND NO WAY TO MOVE THE CAR. *TR
IT HAD TROUBLE STARTING. WE THOUGHT TO BELIEVE IT WAS THE BATTERY, BUT KNOWING I CHANGED THE BATTERY WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, SKEPTICAL. NOW IT WON'T START AT ALL. MY MECHANIC SAYS IT HAS TO DO WITH EITHER THE SWITCH, CYLINDER OR WHOLE ASSEMBLY. *TR
I DROVE WITH SEVERAL FRIENDS FOR OVER AN HOUR TO A FOOTBALL GAME. AS WE WERE APPROACHING THE STADIUM GOING 35-40 MPH, THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION AND A WRENCH LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN AND WERE ABLE TO GO ABOUT A HALF MILE BEFORE THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALER WHERE THEY FOUND THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED. I WAS VERY GRATEFUL THIS HAPPENED ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AND NOT ON THE VERY BUSY HIGHWAY I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON FOR THE LAST HOUR! FROM LOOKING ONLINE, I FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH LATE MODEL FORDS AND THAT AN INVESTIGATION HAD BEEN OPENED BY THE NHTSA AT LEAST FOR FORD ESCAPE AND FUSIONS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR SWITCH WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE.THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
TURNED ON WIPERS BECAUSE IT STARTED TO RAIN AND THEY CAME ON VERY SLOWLY. DRAGGING TO THE CENTER OF WINDSHIELD AND STOPPED. THEY NEVER CAME BACK ON. SECOND TIME OCCURRING IN APRIL 2014. EXACTLY THE SAME THING. BOTH TIMES IT HAD BEEN VERY MOIST FOR DAYS LEADING UP AND APPEARED TO BE AFFECTED BY THE WEATHER. AFTER A FEW DAYS THE WEATHER WAS DRY AND THE WIPERS BEGAN TO WORK NORMALLY AGAIN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY CAR. I HAD MY GRANDCHILDREN WITH ME AND IT WAS VERY SCARY TO SAY THE LEAST. IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND HAD TO PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND RESET THE CAR. I HAVE SEEN ONLINE THERE ARE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE FORD FOCUS AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I AM LUCKY THAT I AND MY GRANDCHILDREN DIDN'T GET SERIOUSLY INJURED. *TR
THIS HAS BEEN A RE OCCURRING PROBLEM THAT THE THROTTLE BODY STICKS CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO GO INTO "LIMP MODE" CAUSING THE CAR TO ALMOST LOOSE POWER. THIS HAS HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS NOW, IT DOES GET BETTER WHEN CLEANED BUT IS NEEDING CLEANED MORE AND MORE OFTEN. *TR
EVERY MORNING WHEN I START MY CAR AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE, THE WRENCH ICON WILL APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD AND I LOSE ALL CONTROL OVER ACCELERATION. THE CAR COMES TO A STOP. IF I RESTART CAR, IT DRIVES FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING. I BELIEVE IT IS A THROTTLE BODY SENSOR PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. ESPECIALLY WITH A CHILD. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS WOULD AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE INTERNAL LOCKS WERE REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CONTACT BECAME LOCKED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FRONT DOOR RODS WERE REPLACED BUT TO NO AVAIL. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE AND THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED AT ALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
TRAVELING AROUND 75 PASSING A TRUCK WHEN WE LOST ALL RESPONSE FROM THE PEDAL AND HAD TO VEER INTO DITCH TO AVOID COLLISION. ..SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON AND CAR IDLED ROUGH WE CYCLED THE KEY AND REGAINED PEDAL CONTROL..CHANGED PEDAL AND STILL HAVE HAD THE ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES. VEHICLE WILL REMAIN PARKED NOT REPLACING A 400 DOLLAR THROTTLE BODY THAT HAS BEEN FAILING ON MULTIPLE YEARS OF THE FOCUS THE FACTORY SHOULD HANDLE THIS IS A HAZARD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE WRENCH AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTION. THE CONTACT PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE THROTTLE CONTROL POSITION SENSOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,325 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000.

THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
HANKOOK PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. TIRES ONLY LAST 17K. FORD AND HANKOOK WILL NOT HONOR WARRANTY. VEHICLE MAKES LOUD NOISE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND VEHICLE IS MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO HYDROPLANNING. TIRES ARE WORN ON THE INNER SIDE. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM BUY HAS SEVERAL TSB COVERING THE PREMATURE TIRE FAILURE/WEAR. *TR
I STARTED FEELING A VIBRATION WHEN STOPPED AND WHEN DRIVING, ABOUT 1 MONTH BEFORE I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER. THE VIBRATIONS STARTED GETTING WORSE AS TIME WENT BY. THE SERVICE TECH AT LITHIA FORD FRESNO, CA IMMEDIATELY SAID THAT IT WAS A MOTOR MOUNT. FORTUNATELY FOR ME IT WAS STILL UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AND NOT THE TIME ONE. STILL I HAD TO BUY 2 FRONT TIRES WHICH COST $270. *TR
IT'S NOT JUST THE MERCURY MILAN AND FORD ESCAPE HAVING THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR/ASSEMBLY ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE 694 INTERSTATE IN MINNESOTA WHEN MY CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON MY DASH. I WAS ABLE TO FIND SOME SHOULDER AND PULL OVER, TURN MY CAR OFF AND RESTART IT AND MAKE IT HOME. I BROUGHT IT TO AUTOMATION IN WHITE BEAR LAKE, MN. THE FOLLOWING DAY AND SPENT $800 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE THROTTLE BODY IN MY FORD FOCUS SES. HAD IT GONE OUT 8500 MILES SOONER, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THREE DAYS LATER, THE SAME PART ON MY WIFE'S 2010 MERCURY MILAN PREMIER WENT OUT AND IS BEING REPLACED TODAY. LUCKILY SHE PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SO ALL WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT ONE IS $100, BUT WHAT A COINCIDENCE, EH? I THINK NOT! I KNOW YOU ARE INVESTIGATING SOME FORD AUTOS FROM 2010 FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT I THINK YOU BETTER OPEN IT UP TO ALL FORD PRODUCTS FROM 2010. THANK YOU! *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT AROUND 15 MPH, MY CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WASN'T ON THE GAS. I LOOKED AT MY DASH TO CONFIRM CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON (IT WASN'T) AND NOTICED THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. IF I DIDN'T TOUCH THE GAS OR BRAKE THE CAR WOULD ACCELERATE UP TO 30 MPH AND STAY CONSTANT AT THAT SPEED. I RODE THE BRAKES TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY INSPECTED THE CAR AND DETERMINED THE ISSUE WAS THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR, AND SAID I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE THROTTLE BODY. COST WAS $400 FOR THE PART AND $230 FOR LABOR. THIS WAS NOT COVERED ON THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY I STILL HAVE. *TR
REAR DOORS WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK. STARTED OUT INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, NOW THEY ARE PERMANENTLY SHUT AND LOCKED. WILL NOT RESPOND TO KEY FOB OR POWER LOCK BUTTON. UNABLE TO PULL UP THE MANUAL LOCKING KNOB; IT'S FROZEN IN PLACE. BASICALLY THE REAR SEAT IS NOW USELESS AS I CAN'T ACCESS IT. *TR
IT STARTED AT ON TIME WHEN GOING TO EXIT THE STATIONARY CAR, I COULD NOT EXIT THE CAR BECAUSE THE LOCK WOULD NOT UNLATCH, YOU COULD NOT OPEN THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER DOORS FROM INSIDE OUR OUTSIDE. NOW IT HAS MOVED ON TO ALL THE DOORS, SOMETIMES THEY WORK AND OPEN SOMETIMES THEY DON'T. I HAVE REPLACED THE DRIVER DOOR HANDLE 3 TIMES ALREADY FOR THE SAME ISSUE EACH TIME, IN THE HANDLE LATCH ITSELF THERE IS A LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE THAT KEEPS BREAKING INSIDE THE HANDLE NOT ALLOWING THE HANDLE TO PULL OPEN THE DOOR. AND NOW THE LAST ISSUE WHEN TAKING OFF THE LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS WHEN DRIVING SOMETIMES THEY LOCK SOMETIMES THEY DON'T. I CAN NO LONGER LOCK MY CAR WHEN LEAVING IT BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW IF AND WHEN THE LOCKS WILL OPEN AS WELL AS WHICH DOOR WILL CHOOSE TO REMAIN CLOSED AND NOT OPEN....I HAVE HAD TO GO IN THROUGH THE TRUNK SEVERAL TIMES QUIET EMBARRASSING. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO MY LOCAL FORD COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES FOR THEM TO FIX THE ISSUE, THEY TELL ME IT IS MY PROBLEM NOT A MANUFACTURES DEFECT..ONE DOOR YES I COULD UNDERSTAND ALL FOUR DOORS NO THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I CAN NOT ALWAYS GET MY CHILD OUT OF THE BACK SEAT BECAUSE THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE DOOR WILL OPEN PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS I HAVE DEALT WITH IT LONG ENOUGH AND CAN NO LONGER CONTINUE TO WORRY ABOUT MY CHILD'S SAFETY, MY SAFETY OR THE LACK THERE OF PROTECTION OF NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK MY OWN CAR WITHOUT KNOWING IF I CAN GET BACK IN LET ALONE SOMEONE ELSE GETTING IN. THIS HAS DATED BACK TO WHEN MY ORIGINAL WARRANTY FELL OFF.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR ALARM SWITCH SUDDENLY THINKS THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE 1) THE CAR LEAVES THE DOME AND MAP LIGHTS ON FOR A FEW MINUTES UNTIL THEY FADE OUT, EVEN WHILE DRIVING, WHICH IS HAZARDOUS AT NIGHT AND 2) THE CAR WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK THE DOORS WHEN THE CAR STARTS MOVING, AND IF I LOCK THEM MYSELF THEY INSTANTLY UNLOCK SINCE THE CAR THINKS THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS OPEN. I WENT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE I HAVE OVER 36,000 MILES THEY WILL NOT FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AT ABOUT 60 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO LOSE SPEED AND A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR DID NOT RESPOND. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE 120K SERVICE. THE SERVICE WAS COMPLETED. A WEEK LATER I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND ASKED THEM THE CHECK A YELLOW CRUSTING UNDER THE DASHBOARD IN THE FRONT PASSENGER FOOTWELL. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THEM AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG...EVEN THE SMELL HAD GONE. I TOOK THE CAR AND ON THE WAY HOME I NOTICED THE CAR WAS BEGINNING TO OVERHEAT...FORD WAS ALREADY CLOSED. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE RADIATOR. I TOPPED IT UP AND IT TOOK A GALLON OF WATER. I WATCHED THE LEVEL FOR A FEW MINUTES AND IT DIDN'T MOVE. I DROVE HOME OK AND RECHECKED THE RADIATOR...SAME LEVEL. IT DROVE THE FOLLOWING DAY OK TOO. THEN IN THE EVENING I NOTICED IT WAS GETTING HOT AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 70MPH AND IT SUDDENLY CUT THE POWER ON THE ENGINE. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND HAD TO DODGE TRAFFIC TO COAST TO A HALT ON THE SHOULDER WITH THE ENGINE AT IDLE SPEED AND NO POWER. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND MY FOOT WAS FLOORED, BUT THE ENGINE PRODUCED NO POWER WHATSOEVER...DIDN'T EVEN REV HIGH. WHEN I CHECKED THE RADIATOR AGAIN IT WAS VERY LOW AND TOOK ANOTHER GALLON OF WATER. I MANAGED TO DRIVE HOME AGAIN BUT NEITHER THE AC NOR THE HEATER WOULD WORK. WE ALSO NOTICED THE CARPET IN THE PASSENGER FOOTWELL WAS NOW WET AND THE SMELL WAS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THE HEATER CORE WAS THE PROBLEM AND HAD CUT THE POWER TO THE ENGINE BECAUSE THE CAR WAS OVERHEATING AND TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. ON MARCH 5TH, 2013 I WAS TRAVELING HOME AT 65 MPH AND THE CAR JERKED FOR A BRIEF MOMENT AND NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. TRAVELED ANOTHER 20 MILES AND AGAIN IT JERKED THIS TIME THE CONTROL MODULE/TRANSMISSION LIGHT (WRENCH ICON) CAME ON AND THE CAR BEGAN TO GO INTO LIMP MODE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. AFTER A FEW SECOND STARTED IT BACK UP AND RESET THE COMPUTER. WAS ABLE TO GET BACK ON THE FREEWAY AND MAKE IT THE NEXT 30 MILES HOME AND ANOTHER 10 MILES THE NEXT DAY TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO ISSUES. I WAS INFORMED ON MARCH 6TH THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE 2010 FORD FOCUS HER IN READING THE OTHER COMPLAINTS. I HAVE A 2010 FORD FOCUS THAT HAS A "RAW GAS SMELL IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND IN THE TRUNK" AREA.
